I currently have 700+ followers. And I will urge all of you to read about what is happening in Bangladesh. What has happened in Bangladesh. I am adding irrelevant tags of the fandoms I follow to garner more attention. I apologize in advance.
The government of Bangladesh killed pressumably 950+ people, innocent people, students, all because they demanded a system that will give them government jobs based on merit rather than quota. To suppress the students Sheikh Hasina and its government imposed 5 days of total internet blackout. While imposing this blackout they killed off anyone of the streets. They killed people from helicopters by shooting and throwing grenades. Many kids died in their own homes as the bullet shot them through their window.
Sheikh Hasina and its police took away all the dead bodies and the death registries from the hospital. The official death toll is 200. But various journalistic and medical staff sources confirm the death toll is over 950 in Dhaka alone.
That monster of a PM didn't acknowledge the death of the students. Instead she is crying over the infrastructure vandalism. I request you, rise up and speak out about this. Educate yourself and let other people know. The internet blackout have suppressed the truth at large. The Bangladeshi people are in deep surveillance and the government have made 2000+ arrests on false charges just because they have shared the Information. There is mass fear mongering. I know most of you people are not Bangladeshis and that's why you need to help us and speak up about it. Join your local protests, share the news in your social media, twitter Instagram. I beg you, don't let my people's murderers get away with it. Don't let my people's death be forgotten.
I am attaching some links for you to understand the horror of it all.
This Facebook page Bringing justice to you has documented all the horrors and the massacres that happened on Bangladeshi people. TW : all kinds of blood, gore, death bodies, every single horrible things imaginable but shows what went down.
This ig page is also another page that brings you the horror stories.

Al-Jazeera has been a very credible news source while the Bangladesh was under blackout. They have made several segments. I am attaching the latest one.

UN Human Rights have called out Bangladesh for explanation regarding the crackdown
Amnesty International's report of Bangladesh government using lethal weapon against its people and mass murder
There are many more contents, proof and videos to show you the horrors that was unfolded in the crackdown. Sheikh Hasina killed her people like insects and violated every single human rights imaginable. Please share these. Support us. Help us. I beg you all.

Measuring purely by confirmed kills, the worst mass murderer ever executed by the United States was the white supremacist terrorist Timothy McVeigh. On April 19, 1995, McVeigh detonated a massive bomb at the Murrah federal building in Oklahoma City, killing 168 people, including 19 children. The government killed McVeigh by lethal injection in June 2001. Whatever hesitation a state execution provokes, even over a man such as McVeigh — necessary questions about the legitimacy of killing even an unrepentant soldier of white supremacy — his death provided a measure of closure to the mother of one of his victims. “It’s a period at the end of a sentence,” said Kathleen Treanor, whose 4-year old McVeigh killed.
McVeigh, who in his own psychotic way thought he was saving America, never remotely killed on the scale of Kissinger, the most revered American grand strategist of the second half of the 20th century.
The Yale University historian Greg Grandin, author of the biography Kissinger’s Shadow, estimates that Kissinger’s actions from 1969 through 1976, a period of eight brief years when Kissinger made Richard Nixon’s and then Gerald Ford’s foreign policy as national security adviser and secretary of state, meant the end of between three and four million people. That includes “crimes of commission,” he explained, as in Cambodia and Chile, and omission, like greenlighting Indonesia’s bloodshed in East Timor; Pakistan’s bloodshed in Bangladesh; and the inauguration of an American tradition of using and then abandoning the Kurds.
No infamy will find Kissinger on a day like today. Instead, in a demonstration of why he was able to kill so many people and get away with it, the day of his passage will be a solemn one in Congress and — shamefully, since Kissinger had reporters like CBS’ Marvin Kalb and The New York Times’ Hendrick Smith wiretapped — newsrooms. Kissinger, a refugee from the Nazis who became a pedigreed member of the “Eastern Establishment” Nixon hated, was a practitioner of American greatness, and so the press lionized him as the cold-blooded genius who restored America’s prestige from the agony of Vietnam.
Not once in the half-century that followed Kissinger’s departure from power did the millions the United States killed matter for his reputation, except to confirm a ruthlessness that pundits occasionally find thrilling. America, like every empire, champions its state murderers. The only time I was ever in the same room as Henry Kissinger was at a 2015 national-security conference at West Point. He was surrounded by fawning Army officers and ex-officials basking in the presence of a statesman.

"Lead is a neurotoxin; it causes premature deaths and lifelong negative effects. It’s said “there is no safe level of lead exposure” — as far as we know, any lead causes damage, and it just gets worse the more exposure there is.
After a 20-year, worldwide campaign, in 2021 Algeria became the final country to end leaded gasoline in cars — something the US phased out in 1996. That should make a huge difference to environmental lead levels. But lots of sources remain, from car batteries to ceramics...
Bangladesh phased out leaded gasoline in the 1990s. But high blood lead levels have remained. Why? When researchers Stephen Luby and Jenny Forsyth, doing work in rural Bangladesh, tried to isolate the source, it turned out to be a surprising one: lead-adulterated turmeric.
Turmeric, a spice in common use for cooking in South Asia and beyond, is yellow, and adding a pigment made of lead chromate makes for bright, vibrant colors — and better sales. Buyers of the adulterated turmeric were slowly being poisoned...
But there’s also good news: A recent paper studying lead in turmeric in Bangladesh found that researchers and the Bangladeshi government appear to have driven lead out of the turmeric business in Bangladesh.
How Bangladesh got serious about lead poisoning
The researchers who’d isolated turmeric as the primary cause of high blood lead levels —working for the nonprofit International Center for Diarrheal Disease Research, Bangladesh — went to meet with government officials. They collected samples nationwide and published a 2019 follow-up paper on the extent of the problem. Bangladesh’s Food Safety Authority got involved.
They settled on a two-part approach, starting with an education campaign to warn people about the dangers of lead. Once people had been warned that lead adulteration was illegal, they followed up with raids to analyze turmeric and fine sellers who were selling adulterated products.
They posted tens of thousands of fliers informing people about the risks of lead. They got coverage in the news. And then they swept through the markets with X-ray fluorescence analyzers, which detect lead. They seized contaminated products and fined sellers.
According to the study released earlier this month, this worked spectacularly well. “The proportion of market turmeric samples containing detectable lead decreased from 47 percent pre-intervention in 2019 to 0 percent in 2021,” the study found. And the vanishing of lead from turmeric had an immediate and dramatic effect on blood lead levels in the affected populations, too: “Blood lead levels dropped a median of 30 percent.”
The researchers who helped make that result happen are gearing up for similar campaigns in other areas where spices are adulterated.
The power of problem-solving
...When the Food Safety Authority showed up at the market and started issuing fines for lead adulteration, it stopped being a savvy business move to add lead. Purchasers who were accustomed to unnatural lead-colored turmeric learned how to recognize non-adulterated turmeric. And so lead went from ubiquitous to nearly nonexistent in the space of just a few years.
That’s a better world for everyone, from turmeric wholesalers to vulnerable kids — all purchased at a shockingly low price. The paper published this month concludes, “with credible information, appropriate technology, and good enough governance, the adulteration of spices can be stopped.”
There’s still a lot more to be done. India, like Bangladesh, has widespread adulteration of turmeric. And safety testing will have to remain vigilant to prevent lead in Bangladesh from creeping back into the spice supply.
But for all those caveats, it’s rare to see such fast, decisive action on a major health problem — and impressive to see it immediately rewarded with such a dramatic improvement in blood lead levels and health outcomes. It’s a reminder that things can change, and can change very quickly, as long as people care, and as long as they act."

Do you guys know what was the biggest surrender of our history after world war two?
It was the surrender of Pakistani military against Bangladeshi
On 16 December 1971.
But today I didn't grab your attention only to give you some random history facts.
We Bangladeshi students need your help! So please read this article till the end
After the partition of the Indian region in 1947, two independent nations were born. One India and one Pakistan.
The country of Pakistan was divided into two parts, East Pakistan, currently Bangladesh and West Pakistan, currently Pakistan.
But the distance between the two regions was thousands of kilometers. So uniting them into one singular nation was definitely foolish.
To think that the partition actually happened because of religion is laughable on itself but this is a topic of debate for another blog.
Even though we got our freedom from the British empire the people of East Pakistan kept on getting exploited by the west pakistan government.
Note, from now on I will refer to East Pakistan only as Bangladesh because the way we were exploited by our own so called government which only resided on the west pakistan and left us on poverty clearly indicates they never saw us as their own people.
Pakistan didn't only exploit us politically and financially, but they also tried to take away our unique Bengali identity from us.
They banned our traditional Bengali festivals like Noboborso (which is Bengali new year) They tried to ban Rabindra sangeet in fact, they even tried to replace our Bengali alphabet with the Urdu alphabet.
People were already protesting against it and were participating in every traditional festival
But the elastic snapped when they tried to take away our mother tongue, Bangla
When a pakistani politician made the announcement that "Urdu and only Urdu will be the only national language of Pakistan" in Dhaka university's convocation, it was the students who roared in disapproval.
In 1952, breaking the curfew, students and common people went on a protest for our mother language Bangla.
The police started to shoot them and the soil of Bangladesh became stained with blood and Bangla became the only language for people had given up their lives.
That's why we celebrate "Sahid dibos" and "international mother language day" on 21st February.
Throughout the fight for our existence, freedom and culture, students of our nation had always played a crucial role.
They also made a student's political party "Chatro league"
After the election of 1970, when the Pakistani government didn't agree to give power to the Bangladeshi political party "Awami league" our students again started to organize protests and other activities
Finally "Awami league" ordered for a mass protest. 2nd march Dhaka and 3rd march the whole Bangladesh was shut down.
On 2nd march 11 am "Chatro league" students hoisted the flag of Bangladesh in Dhaka university.
All this information dump was for you all to understand how the students of Bangladesh had always played a crucial part in our liberation.
Our students have always been fierce and had stood up for injustice even if they had to sacrifice their life for it.
And right now history is repeating itself!!!
Again students are getting attacked because of their protests but this time, it was our so-called "chatro league" and the government who are doing this inhumane act.
They are beating the students with rods, throwing bricks at them and even police are shooting them.
Only because we wanted the quota policy to demolish. Only because we wanted equal opportunity for civil jobs.
On 25th march 1971, the Pakistani military committed genocide in Dhaka. They attacked sleeping students in Dhaka university and protesters on roads who were still protesting at night.
And now the same thing is happening, history is repeating itself.
Students of public universities are getting attacked in their own dorm rooms, they are getting beaten to death by the so-called "chatro league" members. There are screenshots of the chatro league leaders group chats flothing around the internet where they command the other members to stab the protester students.
There was a time when Chatro league claimed they always stood up when our mother and sisters needed protection
And now those same people are beating up those same sisters they vowed to protect
Tumblr media
The police are shooting the protesters like they did in 1952 language movement
The only difference is in the past we were oppressed by another nation's government
But this time it's our own people who are causing our student's blood to stain our roads.
Please do not ignore us. Reblog this post or use the hastag #savebangladeshistudents to create awareness

Ok I'mma vent this out at once and will try to not utter a word about this cursed night again. India deserved this cup, they really did. Because if there's been a team who performed the best and embodied the spirit and passion of cricket it's been India. They did their best from the very first game against Australia... Jaddu's wickets (especially Smith's), the top order collapse and King and Rahul's partnership winning us the game (also Rahul's 97). Then came Afghanistan and Bangladesh - Rohit's century, Virat in delhi (vs Naveen, their hug), Hardik's injury resulting in our dear Cheeku's bowling, KL refusing runs to complete Virat's century, Ro - Vi - Rah hug 🤌and ofc umpire not giving the wide. The Pakistan rivalry came into the tournament but our streak was saved when we defeated them 8 - 0. Then came the most dreaded match against New Zealand - Vi's missed century was definitely a sore spot but the revenge was completed. Shami being shami showing why you should not bench him with his fifer and Jaddu hitting the final runs to avenge Mahi Bhai. England and Sri Lanka were no match - they were destroyed by our balling - the only good thing was Gill's knock, Shreyas' century and ofc RohiRat hugs ✨. We made a Sri Lanka out of South Africa with the King getting a century on his b'day and destroyed Netherlands but the main part was Virat and Rohit taking wickets. Then came the semis against NZ and honestly the whole desiblr was scared as fuck bcz of our history but Revenge was taken... Kohli shattering all records and hitting his 50th century making us prouder than ever (anushka's kisses and bowing to the God Sachin will forever be remembered) and Shami's 7 wickets, like is there a way to stop Lalaji bcz I can't think of one (amd what's this 7 factor? 397 runs, all out at 327, won by 70 runs, shami taking 7 wickets ? tribute to Thala ig). But it all came down to this, we lost the finals... After all this we lost, 1.5 billion hearts are broken, the 12 year wait continues. But this tournament will never be forgotten, we laughed and we cried with our team and supported them at every step. We saw moments we'll never forget, we made memories seeing records being broken and our boys having the time of their lives, hugging and dancing on the field and being more excited for the mighty fielding medal than the actual match itself. So this tournament will forever be remembered. You'd expect me to say congratulations to Australia but no, they played well ofc but no team played cricket better than India... Just bcz this team didn't performed in one single match didn't mean that they didn't deserve to win this. Kohli gave all of his soul, Rohit made this team what it is and Shami gutted all his haters but sadly luck was not on our side. After winning all 10 matches our unbeaten streak got broken in the finals only. Yes I'm heartbroken to core but at the same time I'm bloody proud of our boys who gave everything they had, your heads should be held high. In my own delusional world India won this cup and not just team India but the whole country. In my mind we are the winners and the team got the prize for their blood, sweat and tears. You'll all be remembered forever as champions.

Ryoko and Sumire doodle
Rambling under the cut
I keep going back and forth on what I want the characters' names to be. Specifically, in terms of the Aishi family, the only source I've found suggesting Aishi to be a real last name says it only exists in Bangladesh, but it is a first name both in India and more importantly Japan, and its meaning is symbolically relevant enough that I kind of want to keep it. The name I'd been using as a replacement just means "white rock" which isn't really interesting. I also have gone back and forth about the whole "they keep the women's last name" thing. Right now, I'm thinking that instead of the Aishi family's condition being localized entirely within one bloodline, it's more like real-life mental illnesses (specifically modeling it after ones I have experience with like BPD which caused me to initially relate so heavily to Ayano) and is based on growing up in unhealthy environments and suffering other traumatic occurrences like abuse and abandonment. I do like that the family, according to the wiki, canonically runs a textiles company which is the in-universe explanation for the Aishi family taking Ayano's mom's maiden name, and I do plan on keeping that because I like Ayano as a seamstress, but I think I want to have the Aishi surname come from her father.
Re: Ryoko, Ryoba is just a word, it just means a double-edged blade, and it was chosen as a "feminine" version of Ryobo, which is also just a word. Ryoko on the other hand is actually a name, and one whose notable meanings include "cool (also used for "unsympathetic") child", "enduring (also used for "invading") child", or "wise child". For her specifically, I imagine it being spelled 凌子, which would make it "enduring child". Mitarai refers to washing or "purifying" yourself before entering a shrine, and is sometimes translated roughly to "please wash your hands", which was one that made me laugh for quite a while. Regardless, I chose this because I like the idea of washing as purification for someone like Ryoko who is literally washing blood off her hands.
Ryoko has a perm because those were popular in the 80s, including in Japan. I didn't draw it great but eh.
Sumire's school uniform was swapped out for a from-memory doodle of a ripped-up kimono. It turned out frankly abysmal, but that's where the "ghost girl in a white dress" trope originally began. Also tying to old depictions of onryo, Sumire's body fades out the closer to her hands and feet it gets, except for the one ring finger.
The "string of fate" between them mostly represents that Ryoko was the one to kill Sumire. It turning black as it approaches her is of course representative of Sumire's death. The way it's tangled around her is kinda like. She was wrapped up and caught by it, and unable to free herself kinda deal.
I imagine Sumire is kinda like. barely there, just enough that her presence can kinda be felt. She's hardly conscious or aware, but she's confused and angry, and that bitterness can be felt through the whole school. It's the feeling that someone is always persecuting you, always looking down on you, always waiting with bated breath to see you suffer. If she were more aware, present or powerful, she may attempt to seek revenge on Ryoko by killing Ayano in a very gruesome way, so that Ryoko feels the most pain and trauma she is capable of feeling from her daughter's death.

এক ফালি ইতিহাস
A Slice of History
So my father went to the Kolkata International Bookfair or any Bangali's favourite Boimela. He saw a stall of Sulekha inks...The Sulekha inks and of course he had to explore.
Let me share with you a brief history of Sulekha....
Around 1932 Satish Das Gupta, an ex-chemist of Bengal Chemicals prepares Swadeshi ink, names it Krishnadhara and sells it through Khadi outlets. He then hands the recipe over to Maitra brothers Shankaracharya and Nani Gopal and asked them to make the ink commercially and call it Sulekha ( there is also a story which claims Kobiguru Rabindranath Thakur gave them the name সুলেখা or Sulekha ). After years of an illustrious journey they closed around 1990 and then reopened in 2006.
So my father purchased three things. Two inks and a notebook.
The first ink is a blood red ink called সেলাম ( Selaam or Salaam ). It was made as a gift to Bangladesh commemorating The Language Movement ( ভাষা আন্দোলন ). At first 21 bottles were gifted as a tribute to 21st February. And the creator of the ink mixed in a drop of his blood in the first 21 bottles. Then the ink became popular and was manufactured more. It is a beautiful red colour...and every drop of this ink holds in it the memories of every drop of blood shed for my beloved Bangla Bhasha.
The second ink is a vibrant green. Coloured just like the green of India's Tiranga. This ink was formulated on the day after India's Independence. It is called Swadhin or স্বাধীন.
The third is a notebook made in collaboration with jamini Ray's family. And I absolutely love that notebook.

Thank you for being the only blog to bring up the subject of Armand as a muslim. As a muslim viewer, it does bother me. Islamically I'm not supposed to feel honored by it, because it's haram. Haram meaning forbidden. Thanks for giving us a platform to speak even anonymously to you about our concerns. Armand is NOT a good representation of Islam. He's a vampire, the most haram thing there is. He's indulging in sin. Now the question arises as to why I still watch. (apart from Jacob Anderson's portrayal of Louis the most amazing Louis thus far) I watch the show because I enjoy the other aspects of it but I do confess that when I found out the show made Armand a muslim I was gobsmacked. We see Armand praying; why is he praying as a vampire? I'm so confused, representation wise. I hope they explain this clearly in the show. How will they explain his past as a muslim if it comes up? The actor is from Bangladesh according to Google, same as me! I was elated. But it bothers me how they are using "representation" for Muslims in this way. I don't find anything wrong with following my religion as it is without the need to modernize it through media. Islam is fine for me as it is, which means I do find it uncomfortable to see Armand as a Muslim vampire indulging in sin and drinking blood, etc. Those who are non Muslims and think they have a say what we should be seeing on our screens, and popularizing the modern muslim, are Islamophobic. I'm sorry but non muslims do not speak for us. As someone who is practicing, I find it offensive when non muslims speak against what practicing Muslims believe in. There are so many racists/xenophobes/islamophobes etc in the fandom that I kept my mouth shut till now.
I'm not going to stop watching, but I think blogs should be more open to discussing this.

Thoughts on Armand from IWTV 2022
First of all, I tend to get biased with characters that I like, and this usually means that I would end up choosing the most favourable interpretation as well as giving them the benefit of the doubt. While I know that everyone has different views and doesn’t mind hearing them, I am also very stubborn in regard to my views. So a lot of the time, it would be an agree to disagree situation. And Assad Zaman has become my current celebrity crush, which makes me even more biased. So, if you are still reading this, don’t say that I didn’t warn you.
Also- am I bad person for loving Armand in episode 5?
In regard to my background regarding the Vampire Chronicles. These are the books I have read
Interview with the vampire
The vampire Lestat
The Queen of the Damned
Pandora
The vampire Armand
Merrick
Blood and Gold
I always feel that Armand’s book is the last of the traditional biography of the said vampire. Even though ‘Blood and Gold’ is Marius’ story, I feel that in addition to a large part of his story being told by Armand and Pandora, he did not really add anything new in his book. Ironically, I feel that he made himself look worse by trying to tell his story. But upon reading Armand’s book, Armand immediately became my favourite character. And Assad Zaman did such a good job that I think even if I didn’t already like Armand, I might have liked him anyway.
This does result in the question of how far should we stay true to the book? At one hand, Armand’s appearance is definitely something most readers have a very strong image of, but at the other hand, the actor did a perfect job portraying Armand despite his physical appearance being a complete contrast of the book. By staying completely true to the book, Assad Zaman would never have been chosen, which means we miss out on this amazing actor and his performance. His Armand is just perfect with that sense of hidden power and tranquil fury.
Season 1
I actually started watching the whole series already knowing that Rashid is Armand, but I would definitely have been surprised at the reveal if I did not. Because Armand is probably one of the characters that the reader has a very strong image of in regard to his personal appearance- a seventeen years old youth with red hair. Who is also Eastern European/Russian with a strong Eastern Orthodox association.
This is pretty much the opposite of Rashid, who is in his twenties and is of Asiatic appearance. His ‘race’ as Rashid is never made clear, since Daniel guessed that he was from Uzbekistan, and could be of Kazakh or Crimean Tartar heritage. Just because the actor is of South Asian heritage- his parents are both from Bangladesh, it does not mean that the TV character would be from there too. All that it implies is that he is not Caucasian, ie.not where book Armand is from.
There is also the issue of Rashid being a Muslim, and I think this is a deliberate red herring, because Armand in Season 2 never once prayed or even make any mentioning of his heritage. It is a rather elaborate ruse, but I would like to point out that this is the person who brought a whole island, as well as spending months studying a certain appliance. So if anyone would do this, it would be him. But we obviously never get any clear image of Armand’s character, saved for the last five minutes, where he toss the book to Daniel (and I totally love that scene).
Season 2
I did not start binge watching the series until I read the script for the last episode. But even without doing that, I feel that Armand and Louis were not going to stay together. So I wasn’t really surprised at them parting, but what surprised me was that I started watching with the hope that they would somehow stay together, to feeling that the two of them should part. I don’t think that they are good for one another. Just as Armand is bad for Louis, Louis is bad for Armand too. Even though Armand was manipulating Louis’ memory and clinging onto the other, Louis is also taking advantage of Armand too, I feel that he is pushing Armand into doing things that the other does not want to, as well as relying on the others to protect and help him without actually reciprocating.
The whole maître thing really bugs me because it overrides into their daily life, which is problematic when Armand is actually victim of various rape and trauma due to being sold to a brothel, as well as being victim of grooming by Marius that does involve sexual trauma. Not to mention the additional factor of him being given to others, which, at the most generous view, is still that of manipulation (and that is presuming Armand did not mind too much, which is most likely not the case, which is why I say this is the most generous view, and even that is still not good).
One could argue that Armand made the conscious choice, but did he really understand? This might simply be because this is all that he knew. But unlike Armand, Louis should have known better, especially given what he went through with Lestat. This is almost a case of victim turned abuser. Although that is my biased pro-Armand view, because Armand could have refused, since he is still much more powerful. But I feel that given his mental state and his fear of losing someone he loves, he would simply submit to whatever the other person want.
I think that a reason that Louis called Armand boring is because Armand is completely pacifying and catering to Louis. Even though at a glance, this seems great, most people would end up being annoyed, especially if they know that this is not what the other is like, but merely them doing this to please you. But the sad thing is that Armand feel that he has to play this role (and the whole maître thing definitely does not help).
It seems that the whole dominate/submissive role extends to other aspect of their life, because at the end of Episode 8, when Louis tell Armand to not harm Daniel, he actually expects Armand to obey, despite the fact that there is no way that he would be able to kill Armand. And to make it worse, he seems to have left Daniel in Dubai with Armand. I really hope that Season 3 would call out Louis on this. Louis left Daniel with someone that is very dangerous, and in a mentally unstable place due to what happened. Rightly or wrongly, Armand would obviously see Daniel as being the cause of Louis’ departure. Louis cannot kill him and the thing Armand fear the most from Louis is rejection and abandonment, which has already happened, so why on earth would he worry about harming Daniel? I feel that him turning to Daniel cannot be from spite, because if Armand wanted to be spiteful, he would probably do something like torturing Daniel. But regardless of the reason, Louis leaving Daniel is definitely super irresponsible.
I was really shocked at Episode 2, because the vampires in the coven seems quite happy with one another, and Armand is clearly accepted as the leader. I really do think that the welcome Louis and Claudia got from the theatre at the first night was not an act. I actually feel that Louis’ arrival began to drive a wedge between Armand and the rest, since Armand is clearly allowing Louis to get away with a lot of the rules. Of course, at the end of the day, this is still Armand’s decision to make, but I do feel that Louis’ arrival was the catalyst. Someone did point out that Louis probably feel that he has to act more assertive due to what happened with Lestat, which is understandable, only that this does end up undermining Armand’s authority.
I can understand why Armand choose the coven due to suspecting that Louis’ affection might not last. After all, there is the fact that Louis does not know the real him, as Armand is presenting himself as what Louis think he should be. He also knew that part of the reason Louis picked him is due to Louis being mad at Lestat. I think in a way, Louis represented a chance that he was not sure whether he should make a risk for, and perhaps he is constantly darting between the two choices until the theatre was burnt.
However, as someone pointed out, at the end, Armand will accept defeat and let the other go. Even though he would do whatever he could to prevent that situation from happening- such as the manipulation of the memories- when it does come, he would be able to give it up. At the end of Episode 8, he could have retained Louis by force, because he is much stronger, yet he just watched the other leave.
I do have to point out that there is one thing that I really dislike about Louis in season 2, which is also the moment that made me decide that it will be good for both of them to part, is when he tried to convince Armand to make Madeleine into a vampire. That was the classic case of emotional manipulation, the sense of ‘if you love me, you will do this thing that you do not like, because I want it’. The idea of not making a fledgling is probably the strongest in Armand, so I do not believe that Louis would not know this. This is an ironic echo of Armand getting Florence and Grace’s name mixed up. Yes, he does not truly know Louis, but Louis does not truly know Armand either. Also, the way Louis mentions Madeleine’s dead sister. If he really is concerned about Claudia being a replacement, then this should be mentioned in private, or at the very least, not in a public setting.
At the end of the day, Armand and Louis’s relationship is just doomed to fail since neither of them are really ready for a new relationship. I actually really support the idea of Armand and Daniel now (I admit, this is partly because I have been reading a lot of fan fictions with these two).
The reason that I feel that Daniel is really good for Armand is because Daniel can see past the acts and lies Armand would try to use. Unlike the book Daniel, the TV Daniel is much older and have more experience with life. I feel that Daniel would be able to accept Armand for who he is, and even though there would be times when he disagrees, they would be able to solve the issue properly. While Daniel might criticise or disapprove of certain actions, at the end of the day, he would remain by Armand. I feel that because Daniel has experienced life, he and Armand would actually be able to have a fairly equal relationship. They would be the classic case of doing a lot of crazy stuff behind closed doors, but does not let this affect their daily life.
My theory of the turning is that the devil minion arc did happen, only that it is different from the book due to Armand causing Daniel to lose his memory and feel that it is better for him to live a mortal life (which is similar to what he said in the book). However, perhaps due to reaching a new understanding, or due to Daniel’s condition worsening, he would decide to turn Daniel into a vampire. He probably then left due to the fear of fledgling hating their maker, which is reasonable since he is probably still in a really vulnerable status due to Louis leaving him. I feel this is very symbolic because Armand usually just stays in a bad situation due to being afraid of the alternative.
I was flipping through ‘Queen of the Damned’ and Khayman’s description of Armand is extremely interesting.
Khayman sought for the name, but the creature’s mind was a perfect blank; not so much as a glimmer of personality escaped from it. A boy he had been when he died, with straight dark auburn hair, and eyes a little too big for his face…Armand immediately attracted Khayman. Surely, he was the same Armand of whom Louis and Lestat had both written- the immortal with the form of a youth. And it meant he was no more than five hundred years old, yet he veiled himself completely. Shrewd, cold he seemed, yet without flair- a stance that required no room in which to display itself. And now, sensing infallibly that he was watched, he turned his large soft brown eyes upward and fixed instantly upon the remote figure of Khayman.
And a few paragraphs later
Khayman understood this being, Armand. He felt he understood him and liked him completely. As their yes met again, all that had been written of this creature in the two little histories was informed and balanced by the creature’s innate simplicity. The loneliness which Khayman had felt in Athens was now very strong. “Not unlike my simple soul,” Khayman whispered. “You’re lost in all this because you know the terrain too well. And that no matter how far you walk, you come again to the same mountains, the same valley.” No response. Of course. Khayman shrugged and smiled. To this one he’d give anything that he could; and guilelessly, he let Armand know it.
I just thought that this was a really interesting description and it is also nice to know that Armand does have someone (especially someone super powerful) in his corner.

Explore The Best Breakfast Choices For Weight Loss
Tumblr media
The first meal of the day is breakfast. Breakfast is good for your mental and physical well-being. Healthy food gives the body what it needs to start the day by replenishing blood sugar or glucose.
Breakfast is crucial for individuals of all ages, particularly kids and teenagers. Breakfast eaters are more likely to be more focused, capable of solving problems, and have better hand-eye coordination.
They might also be more creative and aware. A hearty and nutritious breakfast generally helps prevent many lifestyle disorders, including diabetes, PCOD, and hypertension.
In English, "breakfast" means ending the fast from the previous night. There are a variety of "typical" or "traditional" breakfast alternatives, with cuisine selections varying globally based on geography and custom.
5 Simple Vegan Breakfast Ideas
There are plenty of vegan breakfast options available. Your morning meal with a delicious vegan spread gives your body the nutrition it needs. Nonetheless, milk, bread and butter, an omelette, and scrambled eggs make up the majority of Indians' breakfasts. Here are some vegan options for Indian breakfast that you can try from ToneOp:
1. Roti/Paratha With Vegan Curd Or Sabzi
A great and easy vegan breakfast option is paratha/roti with sabzi, a North Indian breakfast classic. To make a complete meal, add some vegan curd to the mixture. Steer clear of butter and ghee when cooking. To make your paratha even more delicious and nutrient-dense, stuff it with veggies like potatoes, cauliflower, radish, and coriander.
2. Dosa/Idli With Chutney And Sambar
Sambar and idli/dosa make a pretty simple breakfast. Sambar is a hot curry with vegetables, including onion, carrots, and tomatoes. Since split black gram and rice are used to make idli/dosa, they are high in fibre. Together, they make a delicious vegan breakfast.
3. Upma
Upma, also known as rava upma, is a traditional breakfast dish that is a savoury porridge prepared with a mixture of vegetables and semolina. This makes a tasty and nutritious dinner, especially with filter coffee or vegan chai.
4. Besan Chilla
In North India, besan chillas are a well-known dish that is both vegan and gluten-free. They are made by creating crepes using a spicy chickpea flour batter, which is easy to prepare.
5. Dalia
Dalia, also called broken wheat porridge, is a well-liked and nourishing vegan breakfast option. It is tasty and an excellent source of fibre, protein, and essential nutrients such as iron and magnesium.
7 Recipes For Egg Breakfasts
Here are a few recipes for egg breakfasts:
1. Mughlai Paratha
The quintessential Indian staple, parthas go well with almost anything. One such variation with a sizable fan base is Mughlai Paratha. From West Bengal, India, to Bangladesh, people love the traditional Bengali street food known as mughlai paratha, fried to perfection and loaded with eggs.
2. Baked Eggs
Onions, cherry tomatoes, and other seasonings are added to whisked eggs before they are cooked to perfection. It produces one of the greatest breakfasts, full of protein.
3. Parsi Eggs
Scrambled eggs with subtle spices, a traditional Parsi dish, are eaten with bread, buns, or pav.
4. Indian Style Omelet
Stir-fried spicy eggs with tomatoes, onions, and fragrant spices. A quick, easy, and savoury typical Indian morning food is the masala omelette. It's a fantastic high-protein breakfast option from India.
5. Bhurji Egg
Nothing matches a spicy, delicious egg bhurji paired with parathas for a hearty breakfast. All vegetarians love this scrambled egg recipe since it is so easy and quick to make.
6. Cheese And Egg Wrap
The most portable and all-inclusive source of nutrients is an egg. Protein, vitamins, and minerals like calcium, phosphorus, iron, and lecithin are all included. While there are many methods to cook eggs, the three most common ones in this recipe for breakfast are scrambled, poached, and boiled.
7. Sandwich Egg With Mayo
The mayo sandwich is a quick, simple, and distinctive recipe. Its origins are in British cooking.
7 Breakfast Choices For Professionals In The Workforce
Replace the standard breakfast menu with these delicious and nourishing alternatives:
1. Vegetable and cottage cheese sandwich
2. Substituted Chicken
3. Chaat Fruit
4. Fresh Fruit and Oatmeal
5. The Sandwich Tiranga
5. Poha
7. Sprout Cutlets with Moong
The Advantages Of Eating Breakfast
Individuals who consume a nutritious breakfast are more likely to experience the following advantages:
Increases your level of focus and productivity all day long. This may be the result of glucose, the brain's main energy supply, being restored.
Eating breakfast can help people lose weight by lowering their appetite later in the day, which helps them avoid junk food at later meals.
People who eat breakfast tend to be more energetic and exercise more than many people who skip breakfast. It keeps them in shape and busy.
Research indicates that people who eat a nutritious breakfast consume less cholesterol than those who don't.
The Final Say
Having a nutritious breakfast is essential for individuals of all ages since it enhances focus, productivity, and energy levels. It also helps prevent lifestyle disorders such as diabetes, PCOD, and hypertension. There are numerous vegan and egg-based breakfast options that are both delicious and nutritious. oh i know, i know its the system and the capitalism and all the other things that tell me im caught here, but i can feel everything around me being made of blood. every made in china sticker, every factory made garment from bangladesh, all of it is just a global network of misery. and then if you're in india, all the land you live on is the product of caste exploitation. i sit on a highway that used to be farmland, my apartment was made by workers brought from Bihar. people hire domestic workers and pay them not enough to cook and then say shit like "you have to supervise them so it's better they come during holidays." the apartment is made with thin walls and no concept of having architectural solutions for the Indian summer heat, and that means i use the AC for two hours and feel guilty.
oh i know. i know the market hates me more than i hate myself. but sometimes i can really fucking give it competition because i AM the market. i can feel the loss of nights and years and time and labour for me to live a bare minimum of a decent life with zero stability because there are no non contractual jobs in my field and i hate that too because even that is eeked out by the misery of others. how much do those who have more live on top of bones? how much blood are we living on? every shampoo bottle reminds me only of the cost, the cost and more of the cost. when are we ever going to manage to balance the ledgers?

“Heraliya”
The other day, an unknown woman was waiting to buy “Kose” or “Heraliya” (jackfruit) at the Saturday market located at the bakery junction on Mirihana Road in Ratmalana. Although the urban community calls it Kos, my grandmother, who lived in a small village in Dompe decades ago in a coconut-thatched house with woven palm frond walls, introduced this dish to me as “Heraliya.” The jackfruit trees that lined the edge of our one-and-a-half-acre garden were massive by then, planted diligently by my grandfather. These trees met the food needs of many in the village. Boiled jackfruit paired with Kochchi sambal (Coconut Greenchily Chutney)  has been my favorite dish since then.
With those memories, I visited that land decades later, only to find not a single jackfruit tree remaining. Yet, one day while boiling jackfruit, a memory surfaced of a folktale my grandmother told me as a child.
One day, the altar of Shakra Devendra (God) was heated. Looking at the human world with divine wisdom, he sought to find someone in need of his help. He saw a poor, old woman in a small house, suffering from hunger. Shakra, disguised as a beggar, went to her house asking for food. The woman welcomed him, gave him water to drink, but confessed she had nothing to offer to eat. The beggar then pointed to a fruit hanging from a tree on her roof and asked her to pick it. She did so, cut the fruit, filled a pot with water, and placed it on the stove as he instructed.
As the pot boiled, the air filled with a fragrant aroma. The contents turned yellow, and the woman, curious, tasted a small piece. Unable to resist, she ate more and more, trying to hide her greed. The beggar, watching her slyly, finally exclaimed, “Heraliya,” (Cheating Woman)  and disappeared. From that day on, people began eating Heraliya or jackfruit as food—or so my grandmother’s story went.
Whatever the folklore she shared, the truth is that jackfruit has been a staple food in Asian communities, including Sri Lanka, for thousands of years. Its versatility, unique taste, and nutritional value made it indispensable. It is believed to have been cultivated in tropical countries like India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Malaysia for over 5,000 years. Historically, jackfruit has played a crucial role in the food and agriculture of these regions.
In India and Sri Lanka, jackfruit was often called "the poor man's food" due to its affordability and availability. Yet, it was equally revered for its ability to feed large families. In Kerala, South India, jackfruit has even been named the official state fruit due to its cultural significance and widespread consumption.
Jackfruit holds a sacred place in religious ceremonies across South Asia. The leaves and wood of the jackfruit tree are widely used in Hindu rituals. In Sri Lanka and South India, jackfruit wood is often carved into idols of deities. Its size and abundance are considered gifts from the gods, and in some communities, it is offered as part of temple offerings.
For centuries, jackfruit leaves, seeds, and roots have been used in Ayurveda and traditional Asian medicine to treat ailments ranging from skin disorders to digestive problems. Rich in vitamins and antioxidants, it is said to boost immunity, improve skin health, and help regulate blood sugar levels.
In the early 2000s, jackfruit began appearing in specialty stores in Western countries, initially canned or frozen. It gradually gained popularity in various forms, such as chips and snack bars. Its newfound fame has expanded beyond traditional culinary uses, cementing its place in health food and superfood categories.
One of the most important innovations that propelled jackfruit onto the global foodie scene is the freeze-drying process. Freeze-drying preserves the fruit’s natural flavor, texture, and nutrients while extending its shelf life. This modern preservation method enables jackfruit to be enjoyed year-round without refrigeration or artificial preservatives.
Remarkably, freeze-dried fruit retains about 98% of its nutrients, losing only 2%. The low-temperature process freezes the fruit’s moisture, which is then removed by evaporation, skipping the liquid phase. The result is a light, crisp texture that effortlessly captures the essence of fresh jackfruit.
This photograph of the woman at the Saturday market captures more than just a moment. It symbolizes the delicate intersection of tradition, nourishment, and labor. The central focus on the woman, balanced and thoughtful, suggests an introspective narrative, perhaps reflecting her role in the cyclical rhythms of everyday life. Her pink T-shirt, emblazoned with a serene image of the sun over waves, contrasts with the bustling activity around her, evoking themes of calm amidst chaos.
In the foreground, the jackfruit, locally revered as "Heraliya," becomes a symbolic focal point. Its versatility—prepared in countless forms, from pickles to curries—represents abundance and sustenance. The act of cutting and preparing jackfruit, as seen in the vendor’s hands in the southern corner of the market, is a quiet acknowledgment of the invisible labor that transforms raw potential into nourishment. Cutting jackfruit is an intimate process, combining skill and effort, embodying the resilience of those who bring this cherished fruit to their communities.
The interplay of light and shadow under the market canopy reflects a world of contrasts, emphasizing the market’s dual identity where modernity meets tradition. The woman’s purse and thoughtful posture capture a fleeting yet significant moment, reflecting her personal narrative within the collective hum of the market.
Viewed symbolically, this image invites reflection on the interconnectedness of roles: consumer and supplier, nature and humanity, individual and community. It honors the unseen stories within ordinary exchanges, celebrating their depth and quiet dignity.
