Phobos x reader
Rude >:(
Requested on Wattpad
Also note that there is already a similar Phobos oneshot on Tumblr out of coincidence, so yeah, just a heads-up
Summary: Director Phobos does not stand for any disrespect towards Nexus Core's god emperor. Unfortunately for him, there seems to be a special case...
Warnings: One mention of torture, violent threats
--------------------------------------------------
Scientists and guards glanced as their Director strided through the halls. He looked angry today, footsteps even louder than usual and fists clenching behind his back. Nobody dared to ask what happened, not only because of his unspoken policy of "don't speak unless spoken to or if it's important" towards the lower ranking employees, but also simply because unlike most politicians he could actually kill them before they even notice.
Besides, even if he didn't, he would still be way too embarassed to admit the source of his frustration.
A civilian.
That's it. That's all there is. Not even anyone working directly for him, just some random citizen that seemed to take pleasure in getting on his nerves.
Whether that be ignoring every speech he gives out or every rule he imposes, and they always found a technicality to go around to avoid punishement. It threatened his public image occasionally, and piereced right through his over-inflated ego everytime.
They outsmarted him in the simplest of things and if that didn't make his blood boil I tell you.
And the worst thing? He couldn't bring himself to punish them for it.
It's not like he didn't want to, on the contrary, he should have sliced their head clean off long ago, but for SOME reason, he couldn't.
"Director?"
Maybe it was them playing with legal loopholes again that made him feel like they were untouchable, maybe they were actually trying to play mind games on HIM out of all people...
"Uhm...Director Sir..."
There was just...something about them, their shitty little smile, the way they talked to him so casually...
"Directooor..."
He hated it. He hated them.
"DIRECTOR PHOBOS!"
"Gah!" Phobos whipped around, snapping out of his thoughts to angrily look at the employee whp just yelled at him.
"Who do you think you are to yell at your lord like that?!"
"This is the fifth time I've tried talking to you Sir! Do you even know where you've been walking this whole time?!"
The dictator looks around him. Huh. In fact he DIDN'T know where he was going, he was on autopilot as he was thinking about that damn grunt.
"...What do you want anyways vermin." He avoided accidentally showing his embarrassement by asking a question.
"We got a delivery at the front door."
"Get someone else to take care of it. I'm busy." Busy walking to nowhere thinking about some random ass person.
"It needs your signature."
Phobos heavily sighed.
"Fine. Now get out of my sight George."
"My name is Ben."
"Whatever. You all look the same."
Ben left as he grumbled something, leaving his boss to start walking himself to the entrance at which deliveries to the Nexus Core were, well, delivered.
On his way there, he thought about how most of his workers truly do look the same. While yes, he was the one to impose the uniform, they could at least make an effort to stylize their hair or whatever. Maybe if the employees took inspiration from HIM, they'd be a little more-
"..."
"..."
"..."
"..."
"...Hi-"
"What are you doing here."
Phobos interrupted as he stared at the very same person he's been thinking about the entire day, the same one that has been consistently mocking and disrespecting him for way too long, standing outside the door with a package in hand.
"First of all, it's rude to interrupt pe-"
"Answer me."
They silently stared at him with a 'bitch' expression for a second before answering.
"The usual delivery guy got sick. So I'm taking his job until he feels better. Happy little accident huh?"
He glares at them and their cheeky grin as he brutally grabs the notepad and pen out of their hands and starts signing.
...
...very long signature he has...
..................
"...Is the drawing of you on a throne really ne-"
"Yes."
"Stop interrupting me! It's rude!" Are they really talking to their god emperor as if he was a stupid child? That piece of shit!
"You're rude. Now scra- ahem. Leave at once."
The smile on their face only gets larger.
"Imagine calling someone rude and then telling them to scram. Not like it'll be possible anyway, I have like 3 other people in this building I need to deliver stuff to. So unless you want to play delivery boy to them, I'm going to have to come inside."
Phobos' eye twitches. What kind of plot convenient badly written gacha life coincidence stupidity is this?! He's not humiliating himself like this! He can just go back to his office and use the intercom!
"I'll send a message to them. Who are you looking for?"
"Huh. This is probably the most polite you've been to me so far. I've got a Christoff, a Hoffnar, and a Crackpot."
"Oh...That stupid Crackpot is never going to want to come in here..."
He heavily sighed as he rubbed his eye. They don't know who that Crackpot is, but they sure as hell make their boss sound exhausted.
He stared a little more at the subsitute delivery person, before making a hard decision.
"You're coming with me in my office. Anywhere else would disturb my employees work."
Not sure how just standing around would disturb any work, but they just shrugged and accepted it as they followed Phobos back to the top of the tower.
"...And I've tried to be polite with you before, but you insisted on being a disrespectful little fool. So you only have yourself to blame."
"I know."
They eventually reached the elevator, which was great for the director as there was no one in there to look at the two of them weirdly or to judge him when he slightly drops his fancy talk and posture. Sure, he liked it, but it's way less natural from time to time, especially when all he wants to do is curse the gods he wishes so desperately to be for putting THIS person next to him.
"...Say, why doesn't Crackpot want to go to the delivery and storage room?"
"Fuck if I know. This man never makes sense."
...
"What did they order anyway?"
Might as well make some small talk if they're going to stay at the top of a very tall tower for some time.
"Let me check...Some religious things, christmas lights, a furby, there's also a bunch of Slaughter Time merch and clown themed stuff for one of them."
"I'm not surprised. They're all clowns."
"Woah, you talk about your employees like that?"
"If you had to deal with them all day every day, you would too."
"No I wouldn't."
He turns his head when they say that. How can they know that so well? They can't just expect all their reactions to be oh so pure, when they hadn't spent even a day in the science tower!
And even if they wouldn't talk shit about anyone behind their backs that...that would....well that would be pretty impressive honestly. At least to Phobos.
But before he could say anything, the elevator doors opened to his big private office's floor (because as cool as it was to have an open office watching lower beings work for you, it wasn't the best option for privacy, even less so when you had such a DISRESPECTFUL fellow with you).
Next they go into his office, he calls the top 3 scientists to go to his office, yada yada yada not very interesting stuff, he also took the occasion to sign some paperwork with that criminally long and complicated signature of his.
"...Why didn't you just let me stand in front of the storage room. Does that Crackpot just not want to get close to it in any way?"
He suddenly stopped writing (although with that signature it was closer to drawing really).
He didn't think of that.
He didn't say anything, he just went back to his work, although he seemed a little more tense, and his eye had squinted a bit, to which they quietly chuckled before looking around the room.
It was a very impressive one at that. Large with an entire wall replaced by a red-tinted window offering view to the city, and although it was more empty than the average person would expect it to be, especially for the leader of Nexus Core, there were still a few shelves, tables and frames displaying many medals, fancy paintings of the director displaying just how self-absorbed he was, as well as some trophies, almost all gold for one plastic exception that was for some sort of school theatre club thingy. Huh, cute.
Both Phobos and the subsitute delivery person turned their head when someone knocked on the door. That someone was the main scientist of the project, who was given his package, albeit not without flashing a strange look on the two people in front of him.
And then he left. Leaving them alone in the room once again.
It took a little bit of time, but eventually, the civil started talking to Phobos. And even if the director was quiet and reluctant at first, it was surprising how well things were going after a few minutes. It started off with snarky remarks and passive-aggressive jokes, before eventually turning into more general talk about eachother's interests and how the author doesn't know how to write a good story like what the fuck is this idyat.
And then, a certain Hofnarr came by and picked up his clown objects and Slaughter Time™ merch, also giving his boss a weird look because of the errand boy standing right next to him for some reason, plus the fact the two seemed to have been having a quite pleasant conversation before he arrived, which is absolutely out of character for the dictator.
To be honest, Phobos himself was surprised. Just a few minutes ago, he wanted to chop this person's head off like they were french royalty, but now he was sitting there, willingly listening to their voice and responding as he was working. It wasn't normal, it just wasn't. And yet here he was, genuinely taling pleasure in hearing about whatever anecdotes this random fool had to talk about.
Although they clearly didn't stop with their attempts at teasing him in between people entering and leaving the office, reminding him of just how much they love annoying him.
Then Crackpot comes in.
Except when picking up his package, he didn't stop at a simple questionning glance.
"Hey, Sir, who is that?"
He asked his boss, making him raise his head from his work.
"Take a guess, doctor."
Oh, he seemed in a bad mood. Would usually be more professional. Well, it wasn't complivated to guess who they were, the true question really was...
"But why are they here though?"
The director slightly tightened his grip on his pen, the embarassement and realisation of how stupid this situation was from earlier coming back. He glared at his employee.
However, the intimidation that glare was supposed to inspire didn't seem to get by, as Crackpot seemed to have had another type of reaction instead.
"Oooooooohohohoho...I see...I see..."
He snickered with a voice waaay too cheeky to be having an innocent assumption.
The two people in front of the scientist stared at him with a confused look.
"See what?" Said the delivery person, Phobos just ignored it and leaned back on his work.
"Oh, nothing! Absolutely nothing my friend! Just...I guess I found the answer to my question by myself!"
He was clearly trying to keep himself from laughing.
"Leave."
The sudden and oddly loud order of the director made the two others in the room jump. But you could still hear the smile in the excentric scientist's voice as he left.
"Alright! I'll just leave you two to it now!"
And he closed the door.
"Huh. I like that guy."
Phobos turned his head to that.
"Oh, you do?"
"I just think he's neat."
They then looked back at him, a frin on their face.
"Now, should I leave or do you want to spend more time with me?"
Oh boy. Here was that stupid smile and tone of voice again.
"You shall leave now." He starts to get up as he says that, the tower is a bit complicated for newcomers to travel after all.
"Aw, that's sad. I wanted to talk a little more."
"Well I don't."
"Are you sure? You look like you could use a friend." That question seemed genuine, as their smiled dissapeared whilst asking it.
"I don't need friends. They dissapoint me."
"Are you sure it's just that no one wants to be your friend?"
He suddenly slamed his hand against the desk with a force that could have broken it if it wasn't made of some fancy strong material.
"Listen here, vermin! If you are unable to realise your place in this city, I would be happy to show you where that kind of disrespect you seem to have so much fun showing me could make you end up in!"
He loomed over them, his eye almost seeming to glow in the shadow he casted. And they simply stared.
"If I'm feeling nice, you might even be able to choose. Jail, torture or hell, which one would you prefer being put in when your attitude makes you forget who you're talking to?"
His breathing was heavy as the silence between them grew and grew before he realised what he was doing and calmed himself down and started walking to the exit of the room, signaling for them to do the same.
And they did. Completely ignoring what just happened.
In fact, they almost looked...satisfied.
They knew they were probably one of if not the first person to have made and most importantly seen the Director Phobos himself snap like this.
The walk back was quiet, still littered with strange looks at the duo passing by. Except this time Phobos had no problem with giving anyone who dared stare at him a death glare that immadiately made them cower.
Not much happened aside from that. They eventually reached the delivery entrance, and he thought that would be all. But before the delivery person got on their delivery person scooter, they turned back to him.
"It was nice talking to you, by the way."
Phobos raised his head to look at them.
"...What?"
"I spent a very good time with you."
"...But...I...I litteraly-" His hands were making little movements to match his confused face.
"Oh don't worry about that, that was mostly intentional."
They gave him that stupid cheeky grin again, although this time...he couldn't get too angry at them for some reason.
"Wouldn't have thought I could have fun with you without the teasing."
"So you- ahem. So you admit it."
He had to stop himself for a second to avoid sounding childish.
"I was never denying it. Bye Phobos!"
And without giving the director time to catch on to the fact they just called him by his name, they left. Driving away on the slightly broken road.
He had to get back to his work, but the antire time he did, that interaction...that compliment...it all kept playing in his head over and over again.
He had received compliments before. And an ungodly amount at that. It fed his already oversized ego even more than it already needed. But he knew none of them were real. He was completely aware all the praise he was constantly given was always in the praisers own gain. Either for a promotion, to avoid punishement, any reason really. But it sure as hell wasn't to show their boss their actual appreciation and feelings towards him.
So...to have a random person who not only doesn't even work for him, but actively tries to be disrespectful and annoying to him...be the first one to give a genuine compliment to him after what was probably decades...
If he had to be honest, he had to force himself to keep a straight, unsmiling face of pride while working.
Huh... His chest and stomach are feeling a little funny... Whatever. He never took a sick day, and he wasn't going to take one now. There's still a lot work to do.

Phobos X Reader HC
T/W: Slight Isolation, Trapping, and mentions of murder and torture
I wanted to do just Phobos cause i always do the main four lol. At least to give him some love.
Let’s be honest this man himself is a terrible person along with a power hungry tyrant
So you having the chances of dating him would possibly be slim.
But if somehow you managed to catch his attention, you would have to do it in a way where he sees you as an equal or something that must be saved and protected from Nevada itself
If you managed to catch his attention by making him see you as an equal to him, most likely he will want you to rule beside him.
Probably would also make the grunts bow down in your guys’s presence despite you telling them to stop doing that.
But considering they don’t want to anger or die by Phobos’s hand, they ignore you and do it anyways.
Phobos would also probably treat you like a deity, showering you in praise and gifts.
Though a little too much where it did worry you a little with how high he puts you on a pedestal
There was a time he even said he would execute or torture the grunt who was giving you a hard time then and there
You politely declined it though
It’s a lot honestly, even for you.
Now if you managed to catch Phobos’s attention by making him think you need to be saved and protected from everyone and everything in Nevada, be prepared to basically be on lockdown 24/7
You will NOT leave his sight what so ever and would rather have you locked inside your own room to keep you safe than to have something terrible
You were his treasure and was the only one worth saving. He didn’t want Nevada’s influence tainting your purity
Phobos would pamper and spoil you though, bringing you gifts and whatever you wanted. And even like the one where he sees you as an equal, he would absolutely kill and torture for you.
But good thing there was no reason for that considering you’re always locked in that pretty little room the both of you share.
Well it’s mostly your room considering it’s decorated with the things you like. Still though, he does always come to you.
Though there was a time you wanted to get out of the room and explore the city.
If that was the case and you begged him to let you out in the city, Phobos himself would accompany you along with twenty of his own personal guards.
Not only that, it gets lonely. Especially when you want to make some friends.

ok i have a request: phobos with a shy player who hides behind him to avoid talking to people. extra bonus points if they also tend to get overstimulated and will just hang out in his office because they know nobody will disturb them
Of course! Here you go Anon, Happy New Year! <3
Phobos' Reaction to a Shy!Player
(TW: Yandere, Obsessive Behavior, Referenced Violence)
Tumblr media
The moment you first show some signs of extreme shyness, Phobos’ concern is obvious. The sight of you ducking behind him when two of his agents passed by made him wonder if they'd committed the sin of scaring you in some way.
He’ll ask you about it in a soft manner, ever polite and gentlemanly. “Have my men done anything to make you wary, Your Grace? I assure you, I’ll punish them appropriately for their transgression, whatever it might be."
(Perhaps he was a little too convinced that they did something. But the Director couldn’t stand for anyone or anything making you too scared to be there at the Nexus’ headquarters, too scared to be near him. Plus, he couldn’t stand it if these nobodies made his organization look bad to you. Not when all of this was for your favor.)
You wave your hands and try to assuage his concern, explaining that you were just a bit overwhelmed by others’ attention and that his personnel weren’t at fault for anything. (Luckily for them.) The Director merely hummed in response, but you could tell he was put at ease by the way his hand fell from the pommel of the sword at his side.
After that, however, Phobos learns to appreciate your shyness each time it rears its head. The way it causes you to go to him for comfort is something he can’t help but adore, not only because it serves him with that attention from you he so craves, but also because it shows just how much you trust him.
Really, it’s enough to make him swoon. Witnessing his God showing so much faith in him and his capabilities, seeing how you go to him and him alone for comfort—it's far more than any simple vessel of yours could hope for.
Phobos will do his best to ensure that you never regret your choice, and he’ll be infinitely welcoming and understanding whenever you feel the need to escape from others’ attention.
He’ll place himself between you and anyone else who enters your vicinity, acting as a barrier should you not want to spend your time mingling with his lessers. (Besides, he really doesn’t think that they deserve an inkling of your attention anyway, even if they are his underlings.)
If you do decide to socialize, he’ll try to keep you close regardless. He figures it would be best to do so in case anyone tries to get too comfortable around you or dares to upset you.
Needless to say, the workers of the Nexus Core are never truly at ease whenever they’re around you; it’s impossible to be. Not when their Director is leering in their direction like he’s a second away from violently lunging at them. And they honestly believe Phobos enjoys the discomfort they feel around him. (And they’d be right.)
On the off chance that Phobos cannot accompany you, he’ll have one of his officers do it instead (likely a Tower Guard or another one of his more powerful units). They’ll be under strict orders concerning their treatment of you, of course.
Phobos absolutely loves it when you hide away in his office to get some proper peace and quiet. Just being able to look up from his work and see you lazing about on the seat closest to his or reading a book he’s gifted you makes him feel all the more warm in your presence. Perhaps it’s the joy of being in your sphere, or simply the gratefulness he has that you chose him and his place as your getaway, but the butterflies in his chest can’t seem to die down when you’re so close.
He’ll encourage you to stay more often and for longer each time you drop by. Phobos will also use a myriad of reasons to try to convince you if you hesitate; whether it be his need for your tactical knowledge or him “accidentally” ordering someone to bring your favorite snacks/drink to his office before you even entered. Either way, you’ll find yourself having some obligation to spend more time with him. Not like you mind it that much; Phobos is surprisingly good company (to you, at least), and it stops you from having to mingle with others when you don’t wish to.
Overall, Phobos is surprisingly soft and doting when faced with your shyness - even affectionate (and clingy) at times. However, that's to be expected; it's a side only you could ever bring out of him, after all. For the Director of the Nexus Core, treating you any different would be a crime worthy of the worst consequences imaginable.

Auditor, Phobos, 2BDamned and Sanford with a reader that overworks themselves. Prioritizing work over mental and physical health, pushing themselves to their breaking point, skipping meals and only getting a few hours of sleep. I just need these four in particular to tell me to take care of myself and care about me argggh
Overworked reader
Audi, Phobos, Doc, Sanford
CW: bit of a mental spiral on San's end, ends well tho.
Burnouts a bitch man, don't wear yourself thin over shit, y'hear?
Auditor
"Are the chef's meals not to your liking?" You nearly jumped out of your seat when Auditor's ghostly whisper filled your ear. Casting your aching, tired eyes from your paperwork at the once hot meal, still arranged with care on the plate, completely untouched from the moment it left the kitchen.
"Oh, no. Of course not. They're good, don't worry." You offered him a weak smile. "I'll have it later, I just need to finish this up." Audi's eyes narrowed as you gestured meekly to your desk, piled high with reports, cloning records, casualty tallies, and other such boring admin work.
"It's cold." He grumbled, spinning your chair to face him, hands on his hips. "You're going to really hurt yourself and burn out if you keep pulling these awkward hours. Don't think I haven't noticed you slipping from our bed to come back to this. Did you forget how light a sleeper I am?"
Audi's stern demeanour dropped as your features fell, already feeling low because of how your body was struggling, now having your boss/lover add to that. "I just need to be able to keep up with you. What use am I really if I can't handle a fraction of the work you do?"
His hand rested under your chin, thumb delicately stroking your cheek. "You could never keep up with me, my flame, I was made to handle this. You're just a delicate mortal, you do more than enough without stressing yourself trying to level with me. Allow me to finish this later, mea vita, you are going to get a hot, fresh meal while I draw a bath for us, and after you will get the rest your body needs. That's an order, from your employer, understood?"
"Yes, but-"
He cut you off. "No 'ifs, ands, or buts,' You are going to hurt yourself, and I refuse to allow anyone to hurt you, even self inflicted pain. I, as your partner and boss, will clear this burden for you. When I asked for your best, I meant the best you can consistently handle, not this. You're not yourself, and I command you seek out that old self that I fell for and bring them back to me instantly."
Phobos
Being the director's lover had essentially no downsides, nobody spoke a bad word around you, people helped you far more than before, not to mention the adoration of the most powerful figure in the physical realm. However, that same man would often breathe down your neck, commanding you to stay by his side constantly.
Phobos relished in you, watching you, listening to you, being around you. He wished to be adored equally in return, however your work proved to be a distraction from him. He was... a tad obsessive, but how could he not be? He's a god, it was only right you'd devote yourself to him and him alone.
"Leave that alone will you? Your god requires your attention." A large clawed hand rested on your shoulder, the other pulling down his bandages from his mouth. "Your recent neglect of me is not going unnoticed, dear."
You rubbed your aching eyes, staring at a computer screen all day and most of the night irritated them. "I'm sorry Bo, but there's a lot of work that needs reviewing, I've got weeks of backlog to go through, and Christoff, Crackpot and Gonne have all submitted new reports today with pages and pages of intel to go through."
His hands wrapped around your middle, he lifted you up and took your place on the chair, resting you in his far more comfortable lap. "Bah, they're not worthy of your time. I'll command someone else to do it, the short fat one, whatever his name is. He enjoys paperwork and the like."
"Hofnarr is no doubt as swamped as I am." He took your face in one of his hands, his cracked and damaged lips pressing against your cheek.
"Someone else then, if it pleases you. Whatever it takes for you to spend time with me." You leaned into him, your back pressing against his chest, and he emitted a deep purr. "I am a god amongst men, dear, I don't beg for what I desire. I take it. And yet I allow you this honour. So please..."
Your stomach rumbled against his hand. "Harumph! Neglecting yourself as much as you've neglected me?! How dare you, enough is enough. I command you take care of yourself!" Phobos picked you up with ease, holding you level to his eye. To anyone else, he'd be holding them by their collar, or neck to meet his gaze, but with you, he was softer. A hand under your rump and the other on your back, supporting your weight comfortably.
"You are the lover of a god, think how pitiful it would look if I can't even take care of my equal? You stand above others, the right hand of my throne. Your duties have changed, lesser beings will take charge of them. Your only priorities are yourself and me, and the family we will create." Phobos snapped his fingers, and one of the guards at the door came forward.
"See to it that the chefs prepare your God's favourites, find someone to take their duties on and allow them to be truly indulged as they should be." Phobos looked back to you, his eye narrowing. "I will tear this world asunder for you, and build it up as you desire. I will give you anything your heart pines for, never again shall you be run ragged like this."
Phobos was self assured, a god of the highest order, surrounded by weaker, lesser beings. And yet here he was, begging at your altar. He wished you'd devote yourself equally to worshipping you as he did, and he would make damn sure that happened.
2BDamned
3 AM. Doc was in the kitchen, boiling some water over the stove. Hank has smashed the coffee maker earlier in the day, said he'd accidentally dropped the thing, yet couldn't explain the crowbar in his hands. Doc gritted his teeth, damn Wimbleton, making his hard job harder with their stupid thoughtless actions.
He had no doubt the fool had burned themselves on the machine and gone overboard against the poor helpless thing in revenge. Now here he stood, using the stove to make both his coffee and his snack. Instant noodles, his saving grace in the world. Easy to prepare, quick to eat, and filling.
With bleary, tired eyes, you wandered into the dim kitchen, hearing Doc grumbling to himself about 'Getting that moron to find another working machine or he'll have his spine inserted upside down next time.'
"Hey sweetheart." Yawning and setting your tablet down, you wrapped your arms around his midriff and leaned your face into his back. One hand pulled way from the stove, running down your arm before resting atop your hand, feeling the ring around your finger.
"You should be asleep, love." Doc murmured, his animosity towards Hank gone in the wind. You inhaled deeply, basking in his familiar scent.
"I could say the same to you, Kyle." He let out a soft 'Hm.', agreeing without agreeing. You were right, of course. "Debugging with Dei was going well, till he nodded off. San came by on one of his usual bathroom breaks and picked him up."
Doc poured the water into his noodle cup. "You want some coffee?" He took your favourite mug out of the cupboard.
"I thought you wanted me to sleep." You teased tiredly.
"You're my spouse. I know you well enough to know that's not gonna happen anytime soon, even if I would like it if you did." He tossed some powdered milk into the cups along with the beans. "We don't have any sugar left I'm afraid, or sweetener. It's become so scarce these days. Ration packages can't even supply a tiny packet anymore."
"I can get sugar anytime I've got you around." Doc smiled and turned off the hob, turning around to pull you into his arms. "Can I get some now?"
As far as you two were concerned, nothing else existed, everything except what was in both your arms was null and void. He tilted his head down slightly, lips catching yours softly. Butterflies fluttered in your tummy, they flared up every time your husband kissed you.
You rested your head on his chest, it was rare you two had a truly private moment together, as much as you both tried. Being enemies of the state was hard work, who'd have thought?
"You should really lay down dear." Your eyes fluttered open, and you looked up to him. You hadn't even realised you'd started dozing off in his arms.
"No, I've got work to do." You yawned, and Doc chuckled softly.
"You're really stubborn sometimes, you know that?" He picked up both coffees and his noodles. "Tell you what, grab your tablet and we can get cosy in bed together. Work can wait until later, I think we've overdue some private couple time."
Nestled in the crook of Doc's arm felt like the safest place in the world, even with coffee in your system, you couldn't help but fall asleep with him. Trust and love deep rooted, he was your sanctuary.
And damn it, he was going to get you into a healthier sleep routine.
Sanford
It'd been a couple weeks since you'd seen Ford, Doc had sent him off on recon work with Deimos and a splinter group from a faction allied with the SQ, they'd been on the other side of Nevada having heard whispering of something dangerous settling out there.
Two weeks of silence left you anxious, pacing around often, skipping meals and staying up into the early hours of the morning. Longing makes the heart sick, and a sick heart makes the body weak.
The only think you could do to keep your mind occupied was cleaning out the gun stash, checking over the stocked rounds repeatedly, despite the numbers never changing, cleaning already dirt and grime free steel.
A scrubbing brush in hand, you scraped at one of the many swords Hank had salvaged, violently jolting the bristles back and forth over either rust, or really crusted on blood just above the hilt.
Doc usually kept you in the loop of long jobs, sometimes you'd even be in walkie talkie range of your partner and could hear his voice. He could be hurt, he could be dead, you'd be none the wiser, and that was maddening.
Of course you weren't needy and dependant on him, that'd be too much, but just a sign he was okay would've been enough to give you peace of mind. It's the not knowing that drove you to dark places.
Bang!
You jumped in your seat as the front door slammed. "Baby, you here? I'm back." Dropping the blade, you got to you feet and rushed to the door.
"Sanford, you're okay?!" You leaped into his arms, and he caught you easily. Oh sweet security, your world had come home to you safely.
"Yeah babe," San leaned back slightly to get a good look at you, his loving gaze turning to concern. "uh, hope you don't mind me sayin' doll/stud, but you look like hell." His hands brushed over your hair. "...When did you last shower?"
Suddenly you felt rather embarrassed, it'd been a.... couple days at least. Probably about a week since you'd stopped properly taking care of yourself. Swapping meals out for multiple junk snacks, a fucked up sleeping schedule consisting of occasional naps but mostly anxious pacing and activity.
"Uhm..." That was an answer enough for him.
"Baby," Sanford rubbed his cheek, clearing off some dust from his face. "you need to take care of yourself." He sighed and took off his sunglasses. "Have you even been eating properly?"
You didn't meet his gaze. "Okay. Tell you what," He took off his dirty tank top and tossed it aside. "I'll pull out something from the freezer, shove it in the oven while we get a nice shower, and then we can eat and get some rest." Just being near him, hearing his melodic voice again was enough to bring you to a sense of normalcy.
Sanford was fine, he was alive, he was here.
"Things have just been a bit... off without you." You sighed, clinging to his frame, almost afraid if you let him go, he'd run off for another two weeks, or longer. "Sorry, it's just been a lot to deal with, not knowing where you were, if you were safe... It's been hard."
"I get it. I do, I really do," Sanford had his own experiences with deep depression, despite being the large stoic type, the horrors of war, what he and his friends had to do to get an advantage against everything haunted him. "fight, flight, freeze is a real thing, but you can't just shut down baby. You gotta keep fightin, keep yourself in good shape 'cause it's a scary world out there."
"I know. It's easier said than done though." Sanford pulled out a tray of his legendary frozen mac n cheese, you hadn't checked the freezer since he'd left, otherwise that would've been long gone. You didn't know how he did it, but it was godly each time he made it.
"I get that." He shoved the tray into the oven, flicking switches to heat up the frozen dish. "You gotta change how you think, baby." You watched him take off his bandanna, revealing his hair. Or lack thereof.
"You shaved your head?" Usually he'd grow out his hair, style it into long locs and keep them tied back and under his bandanna, but once in a blue moon he'd get bored of maintaining them, and shave it off to start again.
Sanford ran a hand over his scalp, feeling the small curls starting to reappear. "Yeah, easier than trying to keep it clean out there. Dusty as hell." His hands came to rest on your shoulders, turning you to the bathroom. "No bother, I've got your hair to care for now. I'mma spoil you rotten."
Years of caring for his baby siblings had taught the beefcake that just telling someone what to do usually didn't help, but doing it along side them helped solidify the action. He'd help you get cleaned up, get back to eating proper food and getting proper sleep.
He needed to fall into the routine too, sleeping rough in trucks was a pain in his back, and access to his comfy old bed would do him wonders to getting decent sleep again. A full belly and his favourite person in the entire world cuddling into his pecs definitely helped too.
Yes, he needed this just as much as you did.

Could you do Phobos x fem!reader headcanons? Pretty please with a cherry and sprinkles on top? 🙏🙏
Weeeell since you asked so nicely… Been a while since I wrote for Phobos lmao, I do love this director, also I'm so sorry I've been away for so long, I got hyperfixated on other things and just been working my life really I got a little carried away… Yall deserve something big for how long I’ve been away lol, enjoy I still don’t know when a name ends in s if I still use ‘s or just ‘ at the end of it when merging “is” to the name…
===================================
Phobos x Fem!Reader // [hc/fic, fluff]
You probably met while you worked as an engineer for Nexus, let's switch things around, I mostly see scientist readers or something, it's not a bad thing but I wanna explore engineers and soldats as well, buckle up
Here’s the thing that I should explain before anything, Nexus Engineers and Soldats are not yellow blooded, those were not made in the labs, alr? These are your everyday Joes who are a little more interesting than your casual grunt with their knowledge, engineers are promoted with their knowledge to fix things and good insight while Soldats are promoted with high combat skills and high ambition, endurance and shit, all of them start as normal agents, got it? Alr lets go
You probably didn't work for anyone in specific, freelancing and fixing anything you could for a quick buck, you had a good reputation as one of the best engineers around Nexus City though. Phobos caught wind of your existence while passing one of your buddies who did work for him, the Soldat was telling their co-workers about your skills and how “you could fix anything you touched”. He's really exaggerating here, but he’s always been supportive of you, we’ll call him…. Tom, for easy reference.
The Director grew skeptical of your skills, it almost sounded too good to be true, and with how highly this mortal was talking about you, you must be good, after all, this was one of his top soldats, he wouldn’t be lying if he knew what was good for him.
“Really? She’s that good?” Phobos’s voice boomed from the door to the break room, many of the grunts flinched and straightened their postures in the Director’s presence, including Tom, who scrambled to turn around — knocking over his chair in the process — singled out as the rest of the room took a step back. The soldat stammered, caught completely off guard by Phobos’s sudden appearance, tensing as the much taller grunt stepped closer.
“Answer me, Soldat, is she as good as you say she is?” He asked with a dangerously calm tone, it was threatening, as if the Soldat said one wrong word he’d be beheaded on the spot, Phobos couldn’t bother to remember his name.
Tom swallowed the lump in his throat quietly as Phobos towered over him, his glaring red monocle almost casting a red spotlight on his face, he seemed to take a deep breath before answering confidently, “Yes sir, she is the best I’ve seen in a long time.”
One of the engineers scoffed at that, unfortunately just loud enough to make the Director shoot them a glare, making their blood run cold and lower their head in fear. Phobos hummed in acknowledgment, returning to Tom “... very well.” Phobos drew in a breath, “Lucky for her, we are still in need of recruits, especially engineers, so they can help with the machines and whatever else they do around the Tower. You will bring her here tomorrow for an interview, if she’s as good as you say, she will be hired.” with the demand in place, Phobos stood back up to his full height, looking down at Tom as he slightly shook in his boots.
“... and if I don’t..?”
Phobos’s glare intensified at the question, Soldats always seemed to be curious about the most insignificant things, how dare he question Phobos’ orders.
“Then I will personally make you an example as to why you shouldn’t lie about someone’s capacities to me.” He finished sharply, turning on his heel and marching out of the room, nearly knocking Tom over with the mere force of him being hit by his cape.
As soon as the employees thought Phobos was out of earshot, he could hear many of them reprimanding Tom for not shutting his mouth when he had the chance, it did make a grin tug at the corner of his lips, thinking the way most just immediately jumped on Tom for being a little too positive about your abilities and being caught was absolutely hilarious. However, if you truly were as good as Tom claimed, then you might just earn your spot in the Tower, yet another stepping stone for his plan of achieving Godhood.
When Tom came to you with the story, you… didn’t exactly know how to feel, flattered Tom spoke so highly of you? Annoyed he dragged you into this situation? Or scared of what Phobos might do to you if you didn’t meet his expectations… Either way, anxiety shot up, you had been questioning whether to apply to Nexus Core though, maybe actually get a full-time job instead of living off freelance, so this was the best time than any other to actually get that job. Or suffer Phobos’s wrath.
You dragged Tom inside your home to explain to you how the machines in Nexus Core looked so you didn’t have any surprises when going over. It was very bare bones; Tom knew nothing of machines aside from basically what they did, but it was enough to help you through and figure it out yourself.
When the next day came, you put on your self-assigned work clothes and got a ride with Tom to the Science Tower, yawning the majority of the way there. Tom had to go in early as shit due to his status, meanwhile, you usually got to sleep in unless you had a job, you weren’t used to the early routine, but nothing a cup of coffee on the way there didn’t fix.
Going through the Tower was long-winded, to say the least, the thing looked bigger on the inside, and the number of floors… Christ, you were starting to reconsider this opportunity on the 10th flight of stairs you had to go through, and you weren't even in the middle of the tower yet. But going around the rooms you normally would’ve never had clearance to as a normal visitor to the museum part of the place was good to know which type of electronics you’d be working with; they seemed… complicated, and it made you nervous.
Tom had been leading you by the hand because he just didn’t want you to get lost, and then get yelled at for it, so before you knew it you were faced with the Director’s entry doors. The guards were cold in their tones, requesting Tom state his business before letting you both through, and honestly, you were not surprised to see how huge the office was, what you didn’t expect though was to see other scientists working around in the same room, just right there next to the Director, you wondered if these were high-rank employees or if this was a way of keeping them under Phobos’s personal surveillance.
The Soldat let go of your hand and gave you a look of reassurance before you both looked at the towering silhouette at the top desk, seeming to admire his city out the window; the scene looked like something almost out of a movie. Tom took a deep breath before marching up to his office, with you following suit, pausing only for a moment to hear the G03LMs announce your approach.
As you approached his desk, he didn’t turn to you both just yet. Glancing at the other two Soldats standing guard to his sides made you double-take; they looked almost exactly like Tom did in uniform, only these guys seemed to have more buttons and pins on their uniforms than Tom did, those must be a bitch to take off every laundry day. Tom cleared his throat lightly before bowing his head to the Director, motioning for you to do the same before speaking.
“Director, I have brought the engineer you requested.” Tom announced almost as if talking to a king.
Phobos turned from his wide window to look at you both, the light from the dawn outside highlighted very few parts of him; it almost looked like a painting if it didn’t look oddly terrifying. He seemed to take a moment to analyze you before lifting his hand and lowering it a couple of inches down. “At ease, Lieutenant. You too, Engineer.” he boomed, allowing you both to stand straight again. His tone was sharp, but not harsh, simply an order.
Phobos retracted his hand into his cape, you’re not too surprised he actually wears the thing, Tom’s told you about the times he accidentally or intentionally knocked people over with his cape whenever he came around for lunch.
“I will take it from here, I’d like to get to know our… Possible recruit. Return to your duties, Lieutenant.” he ordered again, your eyebrows furrowed a bit as Tom nodded and spun on his heel, giving you a pat on the shoulder before marching away. Your anxiety spiked as you were left to stare up at Phobos on your own.
Okay, I'm getting too carried away here, let me speed things up a bit.
Phobos gives you an interview himself, normally it would be someone lower in rank due to his schedule being SO busy with paperwork, but again, Tom gloated about you so much he just had to see you with his own eye, completely valid reason, right? Yea, yea sure. Also, escaping from the amount of paperwork from their projects and agreements with other companies was a little nice.
He got your basic info, you answered his questions, that he had written in little slips of paper with basic answers under them he had a handful of the engineers write, he’s by no means a “tech nerd” like you engineers, but he did his best to grab the essential answer from your longer explanations with a smile on your face, you seem to enjoy mechanics, good, the ones with more passion seemed to give better results.
After all of that, he got up from his chair and walked around his desk to you, damn he was far taller than you anticipated. He said he’d give you a tour of the place and have you fix a couple of things with the other engineers, under his monitoring; we don't need you going somewhere you don't need to be, of course.
So the whole day you followed him around, grouped with a couple of random engineers in the facility; you successfully fixed something — which as much as these machines looked complicated they had pretty standard problems to be fixed so far. Around lunchtime, he took you back to his office which was mostly empty aside from some scientists finishing up work before quickly leaving to get their food and finish it within the 2-hour break Phobos gave them, which was surprising, most jobs didn't even give an hour. You may have off-mindedly muttered about that being nice, Phobos, seeing it as an opportunity to make a better impression and gloat a bit, claimed it was because he understands how huge and time-consuming getting up and down the tower to the food court and back was, plus, he enjoyed the time to himself that the break gave.
One long and unnecessary speech about how great of an asset you’ll make to Nexus Core, how he sees great potential in you, and how he can see you climbing the ranks quickly later… You're hired! Congrats, you work for the minion look-alike now. Yippee.mp3. He gave you a handshake, let you know where you could get the proper uniform for your work, and set you free to go home, saying you’d start that next Monday. Telling the good(?) news to Tom on your way out, he took you out for a celebratory lunch at your favorite place. At least he was happy you’d get to see each other more often; work always got in the way of your hangouts.
Either way, working at the Tower isn’t as bad as you thought it would be, most of the time at least; you got to know a couple of Tom’s other friends and co-workers around your first day, setting you up with one of his most “trustworthy” engineer friend. Much to their dismay, Tom begged them to babysit you until you got the hang of things in return for like… 5 favors he’d owe them in return. We’ll call this one Kai.
Kai did as promised, giving you a more in-depth rundown of how certain machines worked and what their most common problems to fix were just to give you a heads up, claiming they were feeling generous enough to let you know. Allowing you to take the lead in fixing some of these machines similar to how Phobos did in your interview, quizzing you from time to time on the machines, what they did, or how to fix a certain problem.
As much as they were incredibly monotonous in their voice, you could tell they were just as passionate about mechanics as you were.
Something you did notice throughout the day, however, was that the Director himself was around very often.
“Yep, that’s correct once again, great job [Name].” Kai gave you a tired nod and praise as you answered their question about the cloner in front of you correctly, glad you were paying attention to their ramblings about the machine earlier. You smiled at them behind your mask, hoping they saw how your eyes squinted to know so before they began to speak again.
“Now, this one has been having some problems with faulty wiring, I’ll fix this once since this equipment is so delicate, but I need you to watch and learn how it’s fixed so you-” Their thought process was interrupted halfway through unscrewing the machine’s control panel, raising their head and looking into space for a moment before looking at the doors to the room expectantly, cycling through every couple seconds, did they hear something? You mostly just heard the beeps and scribbles from the machines and the scientists, though… you felt some slight vibration at your feet. “.. is something wrong?”
“... The Director’s coming… again… don't do anything-”
“stupid, I know.” you finished their phrase as they continued with their work, feeling the vibrations of his footsteps approaching far clearer than before, ‘there are 3 doors leading to this room, two on the east and west, and one north-east up a staircase, it doesn’t feel like the footsteps are coming from above but I can’t tell where the sound of his boots are coming from, but… I’m willing to bet the… east door?’
The sound of a door opening to your right had half of the people in the room looking towards it, mainly those who were so lost in their work to notice, including you and Kai. ‘huh, it was the east… lucky guess..?’
You didn’t dare look at the Director for too long, after all, you had to focus on what Kai was doing… Kai, who was inspecting what the much taller grunt was doing with interest for a minute or so before going back to work with a light huff, sounded.. Baffled? You wondered what was wrong as you watched them mess with the wires, disconnecting and reconnecting a couple of set wires before starting to close the panel again, they worked fast that’s for sure.
“See? It’s pretty easy once you know which must be reconnected or switched around. Sometimes in a hurry some other engineers or scientists who don't know what they're doing mess up the wires and make the machine faulty.. The nerve of some people…” they muttered with a disappointed look, making you chuckle briefly before nodding in agreement, not before you felt a familiar looming presence behind you, though.
The large hand on your shoulder made you flinch as the Director’s voice nearly reverberated in your chest with how close he was, like a loud bass in giant speakers.
“Heyy, how’s the work going-... [Name]..! Liking this magnificent Tower so far?" His tone was far friendlier than you’ve heard before, a smile clear in his tone; it seemed like he struggled to remember your name for a moment but you wouldn't blame him if it was the case, with so many workers here and this being your first day…
“Oh! Uh- great! The work- well, the introduction is going great! I do.. Enjoy it here!” you answered a half-truth with a nervous smile behind your mask, you knew he probably couldn't see it but expressions die hard. “Good! Good! And- hello to you too….. Kaaaailee, yes, Kailee.'' The pause with Kai’s name was longer, and the confidently incorrect answer made it painfully obvious he genuinely didn't remember their name; it was almost charming, just a bit.
“Close yet far, sir.” Kai mumbled to themselves as they gave him a small bow “Hello, Director.”
“How’s your work?” he questioned with a small tilt of his head, his hand still firmly placed on your shoulder.
“Nearly done, sir. I’m just teaching Ms. [Name] here how our cloners work.” Kai gestured to you as Phobos nodded with satisfaction.
“Good good, delightful. Anyway, I must get back to my duties. You treat our new engineer well, Kailee, we don’t want a 2-week’s notice so soon!” Phobos’s laugh echoed through the room, sounding almost cartoonishly villainous as he gave two firm pats on Kai’s back before walking off through the west door.
You gave him an awkward wave even if he didn't see it, a hand lingering on the warm spot from his hand on your shoulder for a moment, ‘... that was weird’ you thought before turning your attention back to Kai, who looked to be in slight pain, leaning against the cloner for support.
“... you good?” your hand placed on their shoulder gently, concern starting to lace your voice, Kai let out a small groan in annoyance. “He never knows how to regulate his strength… either way, that was quite the odd interaction.” They stood back up straight.
“What do you mean?”
“Don’t be clueless. You noticed him following us too, right?” You paused before nodding with an unsure look, “Yeah- well, I mean.. It could just be a coincidence, right?” Kai shrugged their shoulders,
“Maybe, but the patterns are just too convenient…”
“Patterns?” you questioned, giving them way to elaborate “Well, when he comes around, he scans the room quietly before he focuses in our direction, then tries to act natural by looking over other people before gravitating to where we are. Looking over us or- like he just did, and maybe strikes a conversation.”
“It is a little odd when you put it like that, but doesn't he monitor new people like me too? Surely this is normal-” Kai held up a hand, something you caught on to mean he wanted to stop you mid-sentence before speaking, interrupting you but not at the same time. “Not really, no, at least not that I’ve seen.. He never did that with me at least, nor with any other engineers that I’ve trained before.”
You were about to speak before another engineer passed by you, butting into your conversation.
“I think yer thinkin’ into it too much again, Kai. Yer scarin’ the poor gal.” he softly punched the taller engineer on the arm, holding a box labeled ‘parts’ under his other arm, the thick southern accent being the first thing you noticed before processing his appearance, he turned to you. “Don’t ye worry yer tiny head about it, rookie, I’ve seen Ol’ Bos monitor some other newbies more closely like that befo’. Seems he does this stuff to ones who he thinks are troublemakers or ‘ave had a bad impression o’ him or Nexus as a whole! Ye don’t seem like the trouble kind, he’s probably just tryna give you a good impression or sumthin’.” he shrugged, stealing your bonnet for a moment to ruffle your hair lightly with a laugh before handing your hat back to you and walking off without another word.
Kai sighed with a shake of his head, rubbing the spot he was punched at as you fixed your hair with a light chuckle, “he’s in good spirits at least.” you mentioned as you repositioned your bonnet on your head, “I guess… he could be right, or not, Phobos is… a bit unpredictable at times… I hate it.” Kai complained as you chuckled again, he motioned for you to follow again, your shift wasn’t over yet and there was more machinery to fix.
I love expanding like this, even if this is probably not what you wanted, I’ll try to speed this up again.
Even after your first day, Phobos kept… lowkey stalking you through your first week, especially after Kai stopped holding your hand through things; you boiled it down to just being him making sure you're not getting into any trouble by yourself, though, it started becoming a bit more obvious that wasn’t the true intention as he started ‘accidentally’ bumping into you on the halls or taking the same elevator to places, sometimes even walking into you seemingly without noticing as you tried getting to Tom and Kai, who often invited you to have lunch with them at the break room if you weren't getting food at the patio.
Phobos didn't understand why he felt compelled to see you, he’s monitored newbies a few times, so this shouldn't be any different, yet… it was.
Most would try to get away as soon as possible unless he actively requested to have a talk with someone, no one dared stay around for long, they feared him, it was always the intent, to be feared, respected, to be this City’s GOD. Yet you were different, you weren’t scared; nervous at most, but it didn’t seem to be directed towards his presence completely. You consumed his thoughts when he was attempting to do his work, his mind gravitating to your face, your mannerisms, your laugh… It was frustrating, what had you done to him? It’s only been a couple of weeks and he’s enamored by you, he’s been attracted to other people before, albeit before he became Director, but it never seemed to go past their appearances, but this? This was bigger, this was more.
It didn’t take long for him to make sense of his thoughts, sure, a couple frustrations didn’t go unexpressed as he seemed to be unpredictable around. One day he’d be all gleeful and conversational with you, the other he’d be distant and judgemental, you assumed he was simply having stressful days… but your gut said to ask, to figure out what was wrong with your boss, especially since some of your coworkers found themselves with the short end of his temper.
So you asked, slipping into his office after the doormen left for lunch, you knew he was in there, he said he enjoyed the time for himself. The office was empty aside from his hunched-over shadow up at his desk, he didn’t hear you slip in as your boots clicked against the floor, making your way up to him.
He had his head resting in one hand as his other held a pen to a paper he didn't seem to read, simply staring straight down, taken by his thoughts. Soon you stood in front of his desk, holding his (allegedly) favorite cup of tea you had gotten based on his orders from the cafeteria in your hands, trying to find a way to gently snap him out of his thoughts without it backfiring harshly on you. Pulling down your mask from your face and letting it lay over your upper chest as you called out his name softly.
Took about 3 times and light taps on his desk for him to see you were there, irritation shifting to surprise to see you in his office, much more without your mask, he hadn’t seen your face properly since the interview… Clearing his throat, he asked what you were doing here, you explained that you were worried about him, and how stressed he was lately, so you came to ask if he wanted to talk, to rant, anything to make him less stressed just so he doesn’t end up killing anyone for a minor mistake sending him over the edge.
… You… wanted to talk… with him? I mean of course you would, he’s Nexus’ God-Emperor and Director after all, why wouldn’t you? Your words warmed his chest, you cared? You didn’t seem like the lying kind, and he had no reason to believe you would lie to him…
Of course, your request to spend time with him was accepted with a welcome, if you were anyone else he might have thrown you out of the window though. Your lunchtime was spent listening to the Director rant about anything he felt like telling you, about the worries of a certain grunt going against his cause, the stress of his goals, and the annoyance that was needed to cater to MERC and their demands for G03LMs, the angry and poorly written emails from their manager still sat in his drafts as he tried to word an unhostile email, it was hard!
He didn’t elaborate on certain things, but you didn’t pry, maybe if you did he’d get more stressed, that wasn’t your current goal. Though you couldn’t help but feel charmed by his demeanors, obviously he didn’t pass on opportunities to gloat about himself, but after he was done ranting, he asked to know more about yourself. It surprised you he was interested in your life at all, but he insisted, so you complied.
You both lost track of time, talking and laughing about funny stories from your lives and even gossiping about things outside and in the tower. Your previous image of Phobos had been broken, that intimidation and nervousness vanishing like smoke in the air, he was just like you and the others, if not a little up his ass but he was still a grunt like everyone else; He liked to gossip, he enjoyed technology and what it could do, he enjoyed comedy, horror, and action movies.
The more you talked, the more the both of you fell for each other, at some point he had forgotten to drink his tea, by the time Lunch was over and his guards came back wondering what you both were laughing about, the tea was cold.
You were disappointed to need to go back to work but you had machines to work on, Phobos suggested you pick up your conversation again the next day. And so followed your new routine, you’d come to work, do your thing, and stay with Phobos for the lunch hour until you went back to work, he even started messaging you after a while to send you goodnights or for you to elaborate on certain things he was really curious about from your conversations earlier.
It took a few months for him to ask you out, and even longer to finally ask you to be his. He made a big deal out of it, of course, it was something private between you both but he went all out on it, flowers, tuxedo, your favorite treat, the works. You made it official on the Tower’s rooftop, watching the sunset together.
He loves you just as much as he loves himself, dare I say even more, his diamond, his queen, he wants you to rule alongside him when he achieves Godhood. He hasn’t told you the full extent of his plans though, you know it's important but he won't elaborate on what he’s trying to do.
He loves PDA, getting a kick of showing others you’re his and only his, kisses, handholding, gentle touches along your sides and shoulders, etc. he doesn’t care about who sees you together, in fact, how dare they stare in the first place.
Phobos can be a bit of a jealous partner, getting protective and possessive of you at times if you hang out with your friends for what he deems to be too long. Later when you're both alone, he’ll remind you of who you belong to with long, deep kisses, and hold you against him, trapped in his arms. It’s nothing too rough to overwhelm you, he’d never forgive himself if he dared hurt you, he tries to take it lightly and playfully, trying to make you giggle even if he’s serious about his words.
Regardless he just wants you well, if you’re in any pain at all he WILL just give you the day off, mayhaps he’ll even excuse himself to keep you in his bedroom, staying with you and getting you anything you need, painkillers, water, anything you crave at the time. Spoils the HELL out of you, and will cling to you as long as you're comfortable.
Speaking of that, he’s a HUGE fan of physical touch. He’ll trace his nails along your back and gently rub your thighs when cuddling, trace his thumb along your knuckles when holding hands, touch legs when just sitting next to each other, and can't hold hands, rest his head on your shoulder and hug you if you're sitting on his lap. Playing with your hair… He’ll never admit he’s a fan of romance books, he’s always wanted to do this with someone, and with you he can finally relax and be soft-ish for once.
Also, he’s big spoon when you cuddle, he enjoys holding you more than anything, but if you insist on him being little spoon he won't protest much, being held is nice too.
If you have a spot when you keep your things at the tower he’ll take the time to leave you little gifts, mainly small things that you mentioned you’d like to buy some time or something, flowers, treats, even just little notes to lift your spirits. He enjoys being romantic, and if it means it’ll bring a smile to your lovely face then so be it.
Some of your co-workers are slightly concerned about your relationship, warning you of his manipulative ways at times, others can't be bothered to say anything because you keep Phobos in good spirits, and keep them from being yelled at so whatever. But he’d never manipulate you I’m sure… right?
Nicknames! My Dear, Starlight, My Love, My Queen, anything to do with your name, usually he’ll put “My” before the nickname because he enjoys reminding himself that he somehow managed to bag such a lovely person. It’s the only thing he questions about how he got so lucky.
He loves you beyond everything. It’s really gonna sting when he dies… Hope you’re ready for that.

Yan!Phobos x a madman!reader who always gets around of his rules just to get back at him with a smile or laugh in their face.
Tw: Soft Yandere -- Why are you always so FRUSTRATING?! No matter what the Director tries to do to keep you well behaved, you always seem to find SOME loophole somewhere in his rules! It has been driving him nuts for the past few attempts. No matter what type of guideline he tries to get you to follow, it always seems to come back and bite him in the ass! In all honesty, if he didn't love you like he does now, you would've been killed off at the first sign of insubordination. That...and the fact that you are a total wack-job. He's not surprised with your current insanity, since you did work with dissonance before your eventual erosion into madness, but you still seem to have some form of understanding about your surroundings and the world. Even himself! Since you tend to recognize him through your maddened-influenced haze. Yet, despite this, you always take the opportunity to get under his skin. Knowingly leveraging his feelings for you to get away with something or to work around his guidelines. It's one of the most bothersome things about you. Oh...but everything else he can't help but adore. Your insane cackle...your remorseless ferocity...your disregard for orders...and when you come back to the Nexus Tower covered in the blood of your adversaries, Phobos finds himself swooning for you all over again. He can't help the warmth that fills his being when when sees you tear apart a victim and slather their blood all over the room you're in. You're a heartthrob in his eye and that's what makes you so special to him. He would even argue that you became BETTER once you became afflicted with insanity. You just seem so much more lively and alluring than you did before and he can't help himself but to wonder why. Any grunt worth their salt in his tower knows better than to talk about sending you to the asylum. The last grunt that suggested such an idea was violently beheaded by the Director himself. Hm. Maybe you and him weren't so different after all. He would be a top tier hypocrite if he didn't admit that he was no longer following the orders of the employer's charter, as he too was defying orders. So maybe that's why he finds you endearing, even when you defy his orders. You both are just merely defying those around you and you both seem to have your own sense of judgement and insanity. That just makes Phobos fall for you even harder. You both are pretty much the same brand of horrible grunts. And Phobos loves it more than anything.

Secret Admirer (Phobos x Reader)
Consider this a late Valentine's Day post. I've been working on this on and off since last year and decided to finish it up for February. Enjoy!
Tumblr media
As a Science Tower intern, you love the opportunity to work on Project Nexus. This is despite the Director's high expectations. Due to your coworkers' gossip and overall stress from your tasks, your impressions of Director Phobos were negative before you had even met him. His reputation had truly preceded him.
It was your third day at the Science Tower when you first encountered the Director. You were being shown around the building by your superior, Dr. Christoff, as much as he could before returning to his tight schedule. This was out of courtesy since getting lost was rather common for you at that time (didn't help that everything looked the same to you)
"What are you doing?" a low commanding voice thundered from behind eliciting a small "Eep!" from you. You peeked over your shoulder to the tall grand figure that spoke just moments ago. You whipped your body around and scurried backwards away from the seething giant.
Christoff, to your surprise, was unphased, "I was simply giving the new intern a tour of the facility since the layout can be confusing for newcomers. Is that an issue, Director Phobos?"
That is Director Phobos?! You had seen the statues, but you had no idea the Director was this grand- he actuallywears the cape?!
"I can take it from here, Jebediah. Carry on."
You pondered what that meant as Dr. Christoff turned away from Director Phobos and walked off with clenched fists.
"You need not be afraid--it is only natural for such an awe-inspiring facility to intimidate a lowly intern such as yourself," the corners of his mouth tugged into a wide toothy grin, "That is why I shall personally give you a tour," Phobos said gesturing to himself pridefully, "Only a fool would refuse such a privilege."
You immediately caught on that Director Phobos thought very highly of himself. As if his regal cape wasn't enough, his manner of speaking more than accentuated his ego.
While you wanted to politely turn down his request, you're bright enough to figure out your tour with Dr. Christoff has been put on hold indefinitely. You needed someone to show you around. With a forced smile, you agree to allow the Director to give you the tour.
"Splendid! Wise choice," Director Phobos beamed. He proceeded to take you on a very long-winded yet memorable tour. Shockingly, you found yourself enjoying it. The Director would elaborate on the importance of certain sections (some you were sure you weren't allowed in anyway). You couldn't help but giggle at times when he would demand your coworkers to focus on their tasks despite causing a scene wherever he went. You found the stories he told made certain locations easier to remember; though you wondered if you even had the clearance to hear them.
After the tour to your own shock, your heart would start to pound relentlessly whenever the Director was nearby. For some reason, the special attention that he gave you that day left an impression on you. A very inconvenient one at that. These newfound feelings were difficult to manage alongside your work. That's why you decided to write Director Phobos an anonymous letter expressing these feelings and how they developed in hopes that it would help you move on.
The first obstacle was getting this letter to the Director. You can't just waltz up to his office and slide a letter under his door right in front of security cameras! After all, who knows what could happen to you if he's displeased by your confession (especially from an intern). You even addressed it "God Emperor Phobos" in hopes of getting brownie points if he found out it was from you. Therefore, this task required a different approach.
For one week, you paid attention to any potential opportunities to slip your letter amongst his files without being detected. Before you knew it, the perfect one presented itself to you. After one particularly long and grueling meeting, the Director took Dr. Christoff aside and chastised him. While everyone else was preoccupied with leaving, you took a casual stroll past the Director's seat. You managed to slip your letter into his thick folder of paperwork undetected and escaped to the hallway. You breathed out while clutching your frantic heartbeat. You were positive your chest was about to burst any moment, but you had to continue as if nothing happened.
~
Phobos shut the door to his office. "How dare he." He about ended Dr. Christoff's life right where he stood back at the meeting. "Opposition to MY perfect vision?! Preposterous." Not only was he irritable from lackluster results on sleepwalkers, but now he had to snuff out a new growing "doubt" amidst his staff. In another fit of rage, he forced his bulky folder onto his desk with a substantial thud. An envelope slipped out from sheer force and landed before Phobos's feet. He knelt down and irritability nicked it off the ground. He didn't recognize the envelope. In fact, he didn't even remember having any mail that day. Assuming it was work related, Phobos grumbled and sat down at his desk.
"Hm?" he hummed in confusion as he glanced at the front of the envelope. There was nothing on it except for "God Emperor Phobos" written neatly in the center. It was rather informal looking to be work related. Phobos ripped open the envelope and slid out its contents. He unfolded the single piece of paper and found a hand written letter.
"To God Emperor Phobos,
My initial impressions of you were unreasonable, unapproachable, and insufferable. I have now, however, expanded my horizons and see there is so much more to you. Your zeal for the project is very admirable and motivating. Your grand presence fills whatever room you're in. The way you are able to give purpose to the most insignificant of us has given me a sort of pride I have never felt before.
Due to recent events, I have found myself thinking about you rather frequently. When you aren't occupying my thoughts, my heart pounds at the sight of you. Forgive me, I know it's silly to say such things in my position.
I do hope my words haven't troubled you or caused any issues. I've written this letter in hopes of moving on from these inappropriate feelings.
Sincerely,
Your Secret Admirer"
Phobos sighed out as he finished reading the letter with one hand partially covering his face. At first, he didn't know what to make of it. One thing he knew for sure though was that his anger had oddly vanished after reading it. Perhaps I read it too fast. He thought and reread the letter figuring its contents hadn't sunk in properly. Then it happened--he smiled. Genuinely. Nothing like the prideful grin he usually wears. He also couldn't help but laugh at the innocence of the letter's contents but in an endearing way--not from a stance of superiority. Phobos even felt his own heart skip a beat from his secret admirer's confession.
"Oh Secret Admirer, you flatter me and have made my day. But who are you? I simply must know."
Phobos continued to ponder this into the next day. He had trouble focusing on the most trivial of things as if the letter had put him under a spell. In what little downtime he had, Phobos wracked his brain for any clues to who his secret admirer could be.
"S-Sir?"
Phobos broke out of his trance and found you in front of his desk with a fresh cup of coffee.
"Ar-Are you alright, sir?"
"Yes, yes, I was just... you know..." He didn't finish his sentence which felt odd to you.
"Well, I have your coffee. I'll just set it here." While placing the mug on a coaster near his stationary, you couldn't help but be flustered under his gaze. The letter hadn't helped like you hoped it would. Not only does your heart rate still increase in his presence, but now your face gets absolutely flushed. As your own eyes happened to glance over his desk, you stopped for but a moment. Your temporary paralysis was caused by the sight of your letter on the Director Phobos's desk. As brief a pause as it was, your whole demeanor had changed in a single moment.
A single moment that Phobos had unfortunately observed: your stiffened composure, your startled expression, and your hushed gasp. You quickly moved away from his desk and attempted to leave in an effort to preserve what little dignity you had left.
"How has your internship been so far?" Phobos asked you casually.
You think for only a few seconds before saying, "Like any job, it can be stressful, but I feel like I'm given a purpose here. Project Nexus has given me a sort of pride I-"
"-have never felt before. Is that correct?"
To your horror, Phobos, letter in hand, had used your own words against you. Everything inside you wanted to apologize profusely for the letter. However, you stayed silent bracing yourself for the worst with your head down in flustered embarrassment.
"You know, it was peculiar. When my disgruntled self returned to my office yesterday, I came across this letter haphazardly tucked into the folder from the last meeting I attended. When I read this letter, it turned out to be a confession from a secret admirer. At first, I was stunned. My anger had vanished, and I felt... elated," he paused and stood up.
"This letter had both flattered me and improved my mood. I was so tickled and delighted by this note that I decided right then that I needed to find my secret admirer and offer my gratitude." Phobos moved out from behind his desk and slowly approached your blushing figure. He placed a finger beneath your jaw and gently tugged your chin to face him. "Thank you."

Yandere Madness combat x Tricky! Reader
Hello everyone I have a poll up to decide what character to wright for and I just wanted to do Tricky, but don't worry the winner of the poll will still get a story and some stories have have multiple parts, also is you chose a character for the poll and did no win don't worry I will do other stories with the characters.
Below here has some smut in it
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Everyday was the same go to work, get some of the project done, get called to the director's office, stay there for the rest of the day, go home and if it was friday watch Slaughter Time. I enter the large building grunts greeting me as I walk by, as I enter the lab I notice that Christoff what not here yet, I only manage to sit down for a few seconds before a grunt tells me the the director needs me, I stand up and start walking, each step making me more nervous than before until I was at the office door, I take a deep breath before pushing open the door. Inside sitting at the chair was Phobos and in front of him was his desk "Y-you wanted t-to see me s-sir" I stuttered out, I could feel the sweat coming down on my face, "Yes Dr. (y/n) why don't you have a seat" his voice had a slight teasing tone, as I look around I find no chair "u-um sir w-where should I sit" I ask him and I could see a smirk growing on his face as pats his leg, a slight blush appears on my face"A-are you sure s-sir I am a bit on the...heavier side" I look down at my body, I was a little bit overweight but Christoff said he loved that about me, a growl cuts off my thoughts as I looked back at Phobos, I let out a small meep before hurriedly going over to his side, sitting on his legs and lap, he then pulled me in so my head was on his chest, I could feel the heat on my face as he continued to work all while grabbing at my fat and petting my hair.
time skip
My face was burning red, I was faced away from Phobos, his cock inside me it seemed he just wanted me to sit there and be quiet, I let out a few whimpers as his cock rubbed against my g-spot, "s-sir" I say as a tiny wimper, he then hums in acknowledgment his hands still holding on my body "I-i should go and make sure C-Christoff is doing good on the p-project" Phobos grip then tightened as he then thrusts up, I let out a moan as I feel the stimulation "Don't speak of him in my presents" Phobos growls as he continues to thrust until I was bent over and he was standing behind me, he continued and I felt my breathing become erratic and I came on Phobos and soon he came in me "If I put little godlings in you, you will finally realize who you belong to" my face was as red as it could be, he pulls out and I put my clothing back on "W-well I will see you tomorrow s-sir" I say walking out of the room, I slightly rub my ass as I walk back to the lab I then notice the clock 'Is it really time to leave" I say to myself as I walk in to pick up my things, I spot Christoff as he walks up to me "Where were you" he asks " Oh the director wanted to see me" "for the whole day?" "I guess so" I reply grabbing my things before heading out with him, he then notices the rubbing " Are you ok?" he asks with concern "Oh yes I just fell and It hurts a little" "oh well then would you like me to walk you home " I nod my head as we continued walking chatting about different things, at least today is friday.

Omg, can you please do Phobos romantic hc, please...
Phobos Romantic HCs
I've never written for Phobos before, lets try this!
So as we know, He believes he's above all but the employers, that's including you
He has super high standards, so when you two get together, take it as a complement
However, he is super manipulative, like extremely so, He also knows how to use his position to his advantage
He's a major jackass, to everyone, even you
He has a major god complex, he literally demands you call him your god
He'll call you stuff like 'My love' 'My dear' and 'My darling' tho
You're his Co-emperor, and he's your God-emperor, nuff said
He'll kill anyone that dares to insult either of you
He holds you to wayyyy higher standard than he holds anyone else too, however, if you fail him (unlikely seeing as he literally prevents you from doing anything dangerous) you MAY get a second chance
He treats you like royalty, simply because he can
He will hold your hand, but he doesn't really do cuddles
Despite how it may seem, he does, kind of, enjoy kisses
Phobos writes you a few letters while he's working, because sometimes he misses you
Easily jealous, He's actually killed some people because they got too close to you
Don't steal his clothes, He actually hates it
That doesn't apply to him, of course, He steals your shirts, which are either wayyyy too small or fit perfectly
Just because he likes you doesn't mean you get to disrespect him, try it, he actually dares you too
on a happier note, He always says "I adore you" not "I love you"
Isn't affectionate
Headbutts you a lot, because he can
super overprotective
I wrote Phobos as a narcissist because he is one, so I hope this is good Anon! feel free to come back if you want :)

lmao I just thought of this and what if Phobos had a lil sibling? just like Phobos being overprotective of his sibling lol
P.S. Always ignore if you’re too busy or you just don’t want too.
:)
and now, I will disappear.
Phobos W/ Younger Sibling
Now see Director Phobos is a ruthless tyrant who is basically power hungry in achieving godly hood
All except when it comes to his younger sibling.
That man will do everything in his power to make sure you’re just as safe and okay.
Along with the previous post of Sanford’s sibling being the only family he’s got, you’re the same exact case with Phobos.
And instead of seeing you as some god or some lowly grunt, he sees you as someone equal to him because you’re his sibling.
Phobos would also be the one to constantly watch over your back, making sure you’re okay and that no one messes with you.
And he makes it VERY well known if that someone were to mess with you, they’d have to face his wrath and the amount of mercenaries that show up.
Hell he would even be protective of you if someone were to show any sort of interest in you.
It doesn’t matter if your orientation or preferred gender and pronouns, he will accept who you are and will FUCK UP anyone who has any sort of nasty or messed up ideas towards you.
Anything to make sure that his little sibling isn’t hurt. Emotionally AND physically.
Mentally would be a little harder for him considering they way he is. But Phobos does and will help you in any way he can.
Wow you having Phobos as a loving, caring brother? It actually shocks everyone with how he acts towards you.
But like all siblings, there will be some banter or arguments.
Especially when it comes to your personal life.
But after a while he does respect your boundaries and tells you that if you need anything from him, that he will be there whenever you need him.

Hi! Can you do general Headcanon of Yandere Phobos please :D
Of course!
Tumblr media
//GOD-EMPEROR PHOBOS\\
GENERAL HCS
Prescription: General Yandere Headcanons
Side-affects: Mentions of threats, mild physical violence, paranoia, physical restraints, general bleakness
Doctor's notes: The reader is assumed to be a citizen of Nexus City who was stolen away at Phobos's command.
READ AT YOUR OWN RISK.
Tumblr media
]] Phobos is what one would never call tolerant.
]] He enjoys the fear on your face, his boot on your head, and the tremors in your nervous hands more than anything.
]] While there is the terrifying possibility that he could get bored of you eventually, he'd never throw you away, goodness no.
]] Despite his lust for fear, there is also a lust for comfort hidden somewhere within him.
]] He enjoys the warm, soft body you have and loves to kiss and hold it. You're like a stress toy to him.
]] Even though he claims to love you, his efforts to make you obey can only do so much. Eventually you'll get tired of being shouted at and threatened, and he fears that day.
]] His paranoia soon catches up to him, of course, resulting in him chaining you to him, quite literally.
]] Now his sweet, darling pet can go nowhere without him.
Absolutely nowhere.

Blood of the ethereal
Phobos x Player!reader
I read the entire master post of the self aware au from @/saltymongoose so I decided to ramble a little bit.
It fit Phobos so I also threw him in there.
I'm sleepy, didn't proof read, and English is not my first language, so I'm sorry in advance if it doesn't makes sense. I don't even know what the fuck this title means.
Enjoy
When Phobos first lays his sights on you is the only time he truly doubts his status as a god, starstruck by such an incomprehensible beauty only an actual holy being is capable of possessing.
The outer worldly Player. Divine. The only creature he has to prove his worth to, the others all beneath him.
Him beneath the Player. The Player above all.
The knowledge of not being one of your vessels mocks him day after day. How dare those lowlifes have the privilege of your attention, how dare they take advantage of your divinity to accomplish such worthless deeds. Your strings should be blessing him instead, a fellow god in the making, the one with the actual meaningful quest to complete.
So anyone could understand his need to know everything about you, from your unique appearance to your personality, your likes and dislikes, if you like Nevada and its inhabitants (not that he cares about this last inquiry, but it's nice to know more about your thoughts). But the more detailed discoveries would come after you start letting him get closer to you.
You are softer than any civilian grunt could ever hope to be, in every way, and it's ironic really, since you are the absolute strongest being in Nevada.
Their skin is thick, resulted from the hostile environment and constant violence, gray to give them a miniscule chance of going unnoticed by the enemy because of the camouflage. So Phobos was taken aback when he first touched you.
Your skin is so soft and thin he can feel your muscles, bones and tendons from the slightest pressure of his fingers, and he fears that you can tear like paper from his touch alone.
You tell him that it's alright, you can handle more than that, since human skin is way more elastic than a grunt's, and pull at the skin of your neck for good measure. It freaks him out, but he'll deny it if you ask.
You are also very colorful.
You have a unique shade that he can't help but stare at, transfixed. That's when he noticed that your veins can be seen in certain parts of your body, painting you with paths of dark blue, purple and green, colors that are rare in his world. Even when he is already certain of your perfection, you manage to surpass it, and now he wants to destroy this world and build a new one using the path of your veins as a blueprint.
Whatever color they appear to be, Phobos believes that is also the color of your blood, because of course the blood of a god would be as unique as their appearance, it's only right. But he can't stop this ugly feeling of jealousy from rearing its head inside his chest, he wants to be more like you and less like the commoners of Nevada. He wants to be worthy of standing by your side and rule this world as a duo of unreachable gods.
But how can he do that if he is so different from you? This frustrates him so much.
It continues frustrating him until you accidentally hurt yourself with a paper cut, staining it red. And while he worries for you, a feeling of relief overtakes him, for his objective is not so unreachable anymore.
