Rating Non-Disney Animated Horse Designs

I’m back by popular demand/well not really but my optimism’s grand

A sequel to my Disney horse Rating post for all the other random non-Disney horses. Dreamworks, Bluesky, random cartoons, anything I could find. Featuring: Altivo, Spirit, some Barbie horses, and a few abominations.

Horse (Sing)

6/10 I don’t hate it and I feel like I should because it’s really hard to anthropomorphize horses that much without making them into the stuff of nightmares.

Shadowfax (The Lord of the Rings) 

5/10 There’s nothing WRONG with him per se, but it’s SHADOWFAX. Lord of all horses. He should wow me, and he doesn’t. Check out Gandalf’s weird sock-boots though. 

Hervé (Barbie as the Princess and the Pauper) 

-6/10 Horses' mouths don’t look like that. Horses’ mouths should not look like that. This thing wants to eat human flesh but can’t because it has two solid curved huge teeth with no physical  relationship with its jaw. Also this horse has the beginnings of male-pattern baldness. 

Princess Brietta (Barbie and the Magic of Pegasus)

1/10 Her eyes are flat like they’ve been painted onto her socketless skull. And there’s something very off-putting about this shade of pink. 

Beauty, Merry Legs, Ginger (Black Beauty) 

4/10 Ginger isn’t ginger. That is not a sorrel horse. There’s ONE requirement. Beauty’s the best of the three which is I guess what counts. 

Hans, Klaus and Greta (Ferdinand) 

2/10 I hate them so much. The core design isn’t that bad but the way they move and pose is. No horse should make that face. The one on the left is stretched putty.

The Grand Chawhee (All Dogs Go to Heaven)

I know what you’re thinking-- “isn’t that a mule or a donkey of some sort?” No. He’s a racehorse. Maybe a thoroughbred. And it’s his birthday so the other horses let him win.

1/10 She gets one point for being nice to Chawhee. But she’s clearly some sort of alien giraffe hybrid.

7/10 I like his face shape. Compare him to the Madgascar 3 horses-- look how much more identifiable as a horse he is.

10/10 He’s not a horse, but he’s so fluffy I love him.

4/10 This horse has dead eyes. 

Onyx (Rise of the Guardians) 

13/10 She’s the leader of the nightmares and I would fully support her terrorizing the dreams of children. I’m pretty sure she and her mares ate the boogie man. A true Girlboss.

Yi Min (Kung Fu Panda but I think just an online game) 

-20/10 Just from a design perspective there’s far too much going on so it’s hard to even make it all out. Also I would have zero idea that this was a horse if the wiki page didn’t tell me it was. It has split hooves? 

Spirit Jr. (Spirit: Riding Free) 

8/10 Objectively I know the design is good  but my heart rebels against this show’s existence. 

Boomerang Thomas Stone (Spirit: Riding Free) 

8/10 I’m not doing all the horses from this show but I had to throw him in because he’s cute and he has a middle and last name for some reason.

Horse (Centaurworld) 

Why are there two distinctly different designs for her? This one gets a 9/10. The round one is like... a 5. All the other creatures in this show are eldritch abominations that will haunt me in my sleep now. 

Esperanza and all the other horses from this movie (Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron) 

10/10 No notes. Perfect horses. 

Rain (Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron) 

15/10 I don’t have a joke here I just really like the way they differentiated her and made her pretty without too much anthropomorphizing. I like that she has a roman nose.  I like her feather.

100/10 He’s everything. He shaped me as a person. No other animated horse can compare.

I can't stop thinking about nations appearing in animated movies and TV shows. Like imagine if Alex the Lion ran into a DreamWorks version of Romano in Madagascar 3.

I mean they probably have zero lines because it's expensive to get a nation to voice act (and they're usually unavailable). Except America. He'll drop everything to make a two-minute cameo.

England would appear in that one corgi movie that had Trump in it.

France in Ratatouille yesss. He could be the one who screams "RAAAAT!" In the second act.

Canada in Total Drama. One of the challenges would feature a cardboard cut out of him or something.

Japan would definitely show up in a lot of slice-of-life animes. Imagine an episode trope becomes "I bumped into Mr. Japan!" Maybe there's a Hetalia within Hetalia?

Russia in Anastasia maybe? Probably in one of the flashbacks.

i'm a British high School student and im coming into the point of my life where i need to narrow down to 3-4 subjects for A-Levels (thats post 16 education basically which leads to uni) and im really struggling because i like learning about lots of things and i was just wondering if you had this problem or had any advice for me on how to narrow down? I apologize because this is a bit random for your blog but i'd like to know what other people's career paths were?

I had the opposite problem; I had a very specific interest (reptiles and amphibians and Madagascar), and found almost all of my school subjects painfully boring and tedious as a result. So, unfortunately I am not really in a position to advise, except in general:

try to find something that excites you, and makes you want to read and think and talk about it. The kind of thing that makes friends groan when you bring it up again. Because that is what you will be doing for three or four years as you go into your Bachelor's. And then maybe a year or two more for your Master's. And if you like that, then maybe another three or four years for a PhD. And if you are crazy enough to stick with it, possibly another thirty to forty years thereafter as you either move into academia, or go off to apply what you know elsewhere. But also maybe not! Because you are young and flexible and there are many interesting and exciting things in the world, and it is okay to start with one thing, realise it is not your thing, and try other things! Variety is the spice of life.

You don't have to have it all sorted now. Maybe it's easiest to figure out what you definitely do not want to do. And that can inform your choices.

Oh and you can also go and watch loads of CrashCourse videos and similar over on youtube to get a feeling for the kind of things they do across a variety of subjects, and a sense for what you like and dislike.

An in-depth character analysis of Skipper: pt 1

This version of Skipper is probably the simplest since he was comic relief at first, but a bit of a hot take, might actually be my favourite (I prefer the show version of the other three tho). Going back to the movies after years of watching the show, I realised that this version of Skipper is surprisingly… chill? I guess I’ve been so used to his tv personality that my brain just decided to override his movie personality with tv Skipper.

Buckle your seatbelts, this is going to be a long one ☝️🤓

Movie Skipper is quite a nonchalant, carefree and I can’t believe I’m saying this, but calm character. He’s kinda just minding his own business doing his missions. He’s pretty serious when he’s leading his team and planning his missions, eg. the boat hijacking scene, but generally you’ll see him with a smile on his face. He’s always been a suave and charming little guy with a lot of sarcasm and sass, which he wouldn’t be Skipper without.

Generally he takes no bs, is straight to the point, and is pretty blunt, usually to Alex and his bunch. But this is also where his sass and sarcasm starts to show more. It’s funny. I think that Madagascar 2 really shows his charm and sass more out of the three main movies bc of all the chaos.

It’s pretty safe to say that the penguins are chaotic neutrals (apart from Private maybe) but they do it in such a way that makes it really funny. Not only do they trick the tourists and steal their car (ya know, grand theft auto) but also run over the grandma after seeing she’s still alive (ya know, attempted vehicular homicide). I could name every single crime they commit istg and it’s a long list 💀 But anyway, Skipper does all this with such a chill and carefree attitude and simply doesn’t give a shit. It’s what makes him so funny. It’s a big reason why I love this version of him, bc he doesn’t take everything too seriously and just goes about his day like nothing ever happened.

Obviously, he’s not evil and does still care about others, for example when they rescue Alex and his bunch in Madagascar 2 and 3, as well as stopping Dave in their spinoff. But I do think that he has something against humans (which is understandable) bc he seems to have a general disregard for them which is kinda funny.

In Madagascar 3, you start to see a bit of a shift in his personality and he becomes a little more aggressive. I’m guessing it’s because Tom was used to voicing Skipper more aggressively for the tv series and they also probably adopted a bit of tv Skipper into movie Skipper. But he is still generally pretty nonchalant nonetheless. He isn’t as suave as the other two movies either, but he does activate Kowalski’s nuclear reactor just for the funnies so I’ll give him that. The best thing about them here is their interactions with Dubois, the sheer trail of carnage they leave behind wherever they go, and the funny little quips here and there. Can’t forget bababooey.

The penguins spinoff movie brings back a little of Skipper’s charm and swagger, mostly with the “I do things my own way” attitude and him just being an asshole to Classified bc he doesn’t like him. This movie also makes Skipper more tame than the other movies which I don’t mind that much, but I wish he was a little more chaotic neutral rather than so hellbent on being heroic.

But the thing that really solidified Skipper as a complex character was his character development. This is the first time you get to see his vulnerable side and even from the start of the movie you see that he’s actually pretty sweet underneath all that chaos. When they “lose” Private is when you really start seeing Skipper’s full character, going from carefreeness to pure desperation trying to get his little brother back after he gets kidnapped, which I think was a great way to go because it shows how much he loves his family.

Later on he kinda “gives up” and follows the North Wind’s plan, which is one of the only moments you see him completely vulnerable and unmasked - no clever quip, no opposition, just acceptance. A perfect contrast to his usual “never give up, never back down” attitude. I think it adds a lot more realism to his character and shows that the one thing that can break him is losing one of his brothers. This is something that you don’t really see in the show (other than for a short period of time eg. Skorka) which I think would have been a great way to develop his character more.

When they get Private back at the end of the movie, you get to see Skipper’s sweet side again and his character development comes full circle - he learns to stop undermining Private. He realises he was wrong and tries to make it right. In a way, I guess he takes accountability. Which you don’t see all that often in the show, only episodes like Needle Point coming to mind when thinking about it.

I think that this is another big reason why I prefer movie Skipper over tv Skipper - yeah, he’s a bit flawed and a little simpler than tv Skip, but he makes an effort to change in the end which tv Skipper doesn’t do as much. Movie Skipper is nonchalant, sassy, suave and by the end, pretty sweet. I guess you could say he’s pretty well written and honestly I wish we got to see more of his softer side and less paranoid attitude at the end of the show.

That’s not to say I hate tv Skipper tho, when i was a kid I LOVED him a lot more than movie Skip and I still find him rlly funny, I mean Skipper is Skipper haha. I guess my opinion just changed bc I grew up and I started seeing characters differently and started valuing character development a lot more, but who knows, maybe in a year it’ll change again lmao.

I’ve noticed a trend that in shows and movies I like or liked as a kid that if that show/movie had an anthro Tiger character there was a 100% chance said anthro tiger was my favorite character and I have no clue why 🧍‍♀️ I thought I would be silly to draw them together and as I started I realized that they kinda give silly dnd party so I shot them with the dnd ray (not tigress cause she’s perfect and not frost cause he’s already a dnd character 🧍‍♀️) and I ended up with this line up.

We have Tigress as a monk, Vitaly as a barbarian+bard multiclass, Shira as a Rouge+Fighter multiclass, Diego as a fighter, and Frost as the ONLY non-martial as his silly Sorcerer flavored to be like a mystic type deal.

The Autism demands I don’t stop drawing them until I explode so you’re gonna see a lot of them. I have no clue what their adventures will be other than indulging 6 year old me (and maybe fighting the bbeg Tony the tiger /j)

>Jazz keeps Danny in a miniature/doll house. He’s still her little brother, so she’s doesn’t feel comfortable keeping him in a tank or cage. Plus, he seems to mostly understand what she says, so it should be okay to let him have free rein of her dorm room.

>I’ve come up with 3 potential reasons that the roommate got rid of Danny. I’m not sure which one I like the best

1) To Jazz, Danny looks like little baby man or maybe just like a tiny Danny. To Jazz’s roomie, he looks like something she’s afraid of, but not in an eldritch way. His ghostly powers make him look like a Madagascar hissing cockroach or a particularly ugly spider.

2) To people who aren’t ecto-contaminated, Danny is invisible. Roommate thinks Jazz is going nuts and she’s talking to some kind of hallucinatory pet. She decides to get rid of Danny’s house while Jazz is out. Not wanting Jazz to find it in the trash and bring it back, she takes it a few blocks away and dumps it in an alley.

3) Roommate can see little baby man and assumes he’s some kind of fairy creature. She assumes Jazz has kidnapped Danny and is actually trying to set him free.

Sorry about the late update call, but I got into an art block of sorts. Very overthinking the prompt and me not processing watercolors watercoloring? It was a time and I got it done.

Fit has gone on record to say that there were plans of q!Pac rescuing q!Fit from the federation after he got back from Madagascar- and I distinctly remember the coping mechanism of “Pac saves fit from the island”

So much fanart, so many fanfics, mine included, it was a time of copium. What I would give to see if helpless and flustered and crumbling over his hero Pactw. Also, we deserved to see Q!Fits reaction to Q!pac’s glow up.

That’s all to say- this is what I was hoping for when it came to Fit and Pac’s lore:

Taser craft would get up one day say fuck everything find the abandoned radio station. Find the last logs on the computer (proof that he was teleported somewhere) and say “Fuck it, we’ll go to him. It’s been too long!!!” And they do and they find him they drag his barely corpse out and they blow the place up. An ideal world they would all collectively leave quesadilla Island, and live their lives on the run- living off of the money to lab has accumulated for the rest of their days.

I’d write the fanfic myself, but- eh.

Okay so HONESTLY im gonna ramble about this idea i got from reading one of the genshin sagau posts about the creator and their books that are read are popping into tevyat BUT imagine if it were the movies we have watched (inspired from @sagaubeloved sorry for the ping if it bothers you 😭)

LIKE imagine if ur a horror movie fanatic, IMAGINE THE CHARACTER'S REACTION. Idk if u watch horror bcs u like it or u just like a good scare or two but imagine showing them a movie like maybe the nun 2 or fnaf or coraline or ANY HORROR MOVIES. Imagine if the people (scholars, maybe some theatrics enjoyers?) are horrified watching it "THE CREATOR WATCHES THIS?!" "Yeah i do-" They'd either get nightmares or became really paranoid cause horror movie end credits sometimes scares me like 'based on-' no. I think they'd be paranoid because it says based on real life or something. Especially if its coraline, HONESTLY I COULDNT SLEEP MUCH FOR A FEW DAYS BECAUSE OF THE SPIDER MOM OR WHATEVER OTHER MOM THAT IS 😭😭 buttons for eyes (no- not identity v-) or if its something like FNAF then they'd probably be paranoid 💀 (until they know its actually from a game that has like 13 versions with i think 8 being the ACTUAL part of the series and the rest being spin-offs)

Now other than horror movies we have something moreeeee child friendly? Maybe some of y'all still watches trolls (i heard trolls 3 was about to be released), disney maybe, dreamworks am i the only one who suddenly remembers ratatouille talking about this-. The characters would be less horrified with this and go like "oh, this is the type of movie creator likes? Sounds nice" IF YOU'RE LIKE ME AND YOU HAVE THE DISC OF THE MOVIES AND YOU PLAYED THAT ONE MOVIE YOU JUST CANT STOP WATCHING BECAUSE ITS SO DANG GOOD, they'd probably cherish THAT movie more than the others because BRO, THE CREATOR watches that shit 24/7 WHO WOULDNT KEEP THAT MOVIE DISC FOR THE WHOLE TEVYAT TO SEE. (Im sorry my brain could only thing of that 💀 like any transformers movie) They'd either be baffled at that or like taking notes, they'd probably compare those futuristic stuff like the robots with RUIN GUARDS or WHATEVER ELSE IS THE BRANCHING OFF OF THOSE THINGS. OH. this is fine :) we don't really have cockroaches around here, i honestly don't think I'd ever seen one prior, let alone this giant Madagascar hissing cockroach. but they're really very cool, and they have such interesting and different personalities. :3 my male is rather chill and will take a leisurely walk around my hands once he's calm, but the female tends to move in quick short bursts, kind of what you'd expect from a cockroach. it's fun to see!

i watched the lion guard originally as a young teen! my memories are foggy, so i can't say how much i liked it, but i do remember ono being my favourite and that i watched enough to remember a lot of the episodes when i revisited it a few years later. i rewatched it out of childhood nostalgia and curiosity - i wanna say around 2020 maybe? - and developed a hyperfixation on it, specifically on janja! back then, i kinda only cared about his character and a few others such as timon, pumbaa, scar and kiburi, though janja was the character who i was actually interested in. i had even bought a lion king notebook to write a snippet of an au i had for him, i still have it lmaoo

because of how my hyperfixations work, i get obsessed over one fandom for a while until it switches to another. for instance, most of last year i hyperfixated on the madagascar movies - those periods of hyperfixating would last anywhere from hours to months until shifting to, for example, the lion guard. it also wasn't my main fandom at the time, madagascar was. that changed in november last year, when i found that there was a LOT of cool lion guard content on here (especially @devilsrecreation's outlanders posts!). i began to interact a little bit which made me hyperfixate on it even more. i made my first lion guard post in december, and that's where my posting and very long hyperfixation on it began!! since then i've had like a landslide of constant thoughts about this silly show, and i've picked up a lot of new favourite characters along the way (such as kiburi and his float, beshte, goigoi, dogo, literally all of the outlanders...). i've barely shifted hyperfixations since then and the show has very swiftly become a favourite media of mine! :3

so, i guess seeing content being made AND making my own has made me hyperfixate on it endlessly (/pos btw). i've specifically hyperfixated on the outlanders as you can probably tell lol. essentially, ✨the power of hyperfixations✨ lead me to being on and posting on this site, but the show has always been for me since i was a teen c:

Beelzbebub redesign? Idk..I saw vivs excuses for why the Beelzbebub design sucks AS A BEELZBUB DESIGN. And me and a friend basically rewrote stuff so here-

So I'll explain, first of all am I one of those people that are like BEELZBUB IS A FLY, yes.

Do I care when people make them a bee, obviously not since I went with that pun for my own design(though I had to convinced that I was working on this with someone cause if it were me she would've definitely been a fly.)

Anyways anyone remember when Viv tried to say every one of the sins were supposed to represent a different part of the circus, I don't. Maybe she mentioned that years ago and forgot herself but like where??? Also she really tried to say that Bee was an animal trainer?? No.

I'm bringing this all up to say, I made this "beelzbebub" not a fox but a hell hound hybrid with a bee or fly (whatever will piss you off the most). Also this design is not the actual bee but instead a representative? Servant? Kind of their right hand, an Ozzie and Fizz situation but without the romance or lust. I based this "bee" off of one of those circus dogs that bounce on balls and stuff, idk I've never seen them at my circus but I've seen Madagascar 3 so...

I even gave her that stupid party hat they put on a dog if you look "clown dog" up on pintrest.

Me and my friend had this idea where, the hybrid hellhounds were the servants of Bee, obviously, and they were the ones that threw party's and fed to give all of that to Beelzbub themself. LIKE A BEE HIVE/QUEEN BEE SUTUATION. And they all came out like those circus dogs, to make be look somewhat like animal trainer🙄

BTW, this one is just a pop star that's why I didn't go SO heavy on the clown make up. It killed me cause I love clowns😭

Sorry if I seem aggressive and mean, I am. I don't like this show, I don't like it's characters or its story. I try to give genuine critics but understand I still do not like this show, so idk take everything I say with a grain of salt.
