Macklin Celebrini Boyfriend Head Canons !
‘ i could write a story on the corners of your midnight smile ’
Tumblr media
Boyfriend Macklin who . . . is so affectionate. Forehead kisses are his favorite. If you’re both rushing around in the morning and he passes by you.. well, you’ll feel the soft brush of his lips against your temples or forehead. Something gentle and lingering but so loving.
Boyfriend Macklin who . . . teases. A lot. Whenever possible. If you nearly trip, his mouth is pulling into a grin instantly. He’ll hold out a fake microphone, asking, “and how do you feel about your performance today?” He’s met with a light smack to his hand and a scowl—though your lips always twitched in amusement.
Boyfriend Macklin who . . . is protective but not overbearing. If he notices you look slightly uncomfortable, his hand is finding you—whether it’s your hand, wrist, arm—and he’s pulling you aside.
“Are you okay?” His eyebrows scrunched together, a small frown on his lips.
You’d smile lightly, nodding. “Yeah, just tired.” And with that, he’s already bidding everyone a goodbye or goodnight and wrapping an arm around your waist comfortingly as he leads you to the exit.
Boyfriend Macklin who . . . shows his love through acts of service. If he’d been away for a while for a game, he’s coming back with something for you. He’ll have a new jellycat or something you’d been wanting but never bought yourself. Or, you’ll find him fixing something you’d broken. Coming home from work or school only to see he’s in the middle of screwing a nail into the bench that had been wobbly for weeks—google opened on his phone so he knew he was doing it correctly.
Boyfriend Macklin who . . . smiles at everything you do. Which, you adored. His gummy, wide smile. You could be doing the most minuscule thing and he’d smile fondly. And honestly, you would practically do anything to see it. Cracking corny jokes until he was laughing. Macklin is more than happy to provide you with one, too. He just wanted to see the sparkle in your eyes every chance he got. So, if that means he has to smile till his cheeks hurt, then so be it.

in which will's arm becomes your canvas in the moments you need it most.
warnings; anxiety, bullying (pre-school), BRIEF mention of parents fighting, but other than that, pure fluff. if you can think of others, please don't hesitate to let me know!
You had met Will Smith in pre-school. On the first day that you had stepped inside the classroom, you had been captivated by his blond hair and blue eyes. His hair had been neatly cut, safely tucked behind his ears, while his eyes matched perfectly with his charming smile. Even at four years old, he had you wrapped around his finger.
You didn't get the chance to talk to him, however, until the winter of that school year. You had always been the anxious type, finding it hard to reach out and speak to your classmates. So, you didn't. Ultimately, that led to a group of boys catching you on the slide, alone, during recess one day. It was a typical Massachusetts day for that time of year - a white blanket of snow enveloped the state, and the ice on the ground was as smooth as glass. But in that moment, none of that had mattered. A brown-haired boy in the group had approached first, asking the question everyone wanted to know the answer to.
"Why don't you talk?"
Those words stung. It wasn't like you didn't want to. It just felt like your mouth was zipped shut and someone had thrown out the key to unlock it every time you tried to speak.
So, naturally, you didn't answer.
A few moments later, another boy stepped forward, "Aww, is the little baby too afraid to speak?"
You took a deep breath, trying to gather yourself, but it was clear that you weren't going to get out of this one easily. Despite your observation, you carefully hopped off of the slide you were perched on and turned your back to the boys as you attempted to walk away. You had only made it a few steps when you felt a hard shove from behind - one that made you fall face first onto the ground. Your face burrowed itself into the thick layer of snow that had blanketed the ground, the cold powder stinging your face. You tried to burrow into the safety of your heavy winter coat, but not even that worked.
You could hear the muffled laughs of the boys behind you, one shouting, "Mute freak!" and the other shouting, "Scaredy-cat!" Suddenly, however, a third voice had joined the conversation. The voice was both recognizable and unrecognizable to you, both comforting yet oddly familiar. That was enough for you to gather the strength to look up from the ground.
"Leave her alone!"
It was Will.
His neatly-trimmed blond hair had grown shaggy over time, the wisps of it curling at the nape of his neck. A white winter hat was covering the rest, but you could almost see the way it was curled at the top of his head. A flame of anger was dancing in his usually icy blue eyes, and his smile was no longer charming, only frustrated.
He shoved the two boys back, but not hard enough for them to fall to the ground. That didn’t matter, however. Will had the upper hand - he had a few inches on both of the boys, which meant that in their eyes, he towered over them. Without any other words being spoken, the two boys ran off in fear, occasionally looking back only to find Will glaring at them as he carefully walked over to you.
As he approached you, he offered a compassionate smile, one that would’ve made you feel better if your face wasn’t going numb from the snow. He grabbed your hands and helped you sit up, his gloved hands immediately going to gently brush the snow off of your face.
You flinched in surprise, but the soft material felt comforting against your rosy cheeks. He glanced at you as if to ask if it was okay for him to continue, and you nodded softly. Once he was done, he wiped his snow-covered gloves on the material of his puffy coat - no doubt one his mom made him wear - and offered a gentle hand to help you up off of the ground.
“I’m William, but I go by Will,” he smiled, his hand lingering in yours until he knew for sure that you were safely off of the ground. When he let go, your hands immediately went to fumble with the hem of your hoodie in both anxiety and relief.
You weren’t sure what, but something washed over you, and timidly yet undoubtedly, you raised your voice.
“I’m Y/N.”
And that was the first time you talked to one of your classmates. That classmate just happened to be Will Smith.
As the year went on, you and Will grew inseparable. He continued to be the only classmate you talked to, but he didn't seem to mind. Everyone around you wondered why Will received your special treatment, but the truth of the matter was that he was the only one who made you feel safe. He never judged you for your anxiety, but instead welcomed it because even at four years old, he knew it was apart of you.
Later in spring, you were having a particularly bad day when Will handed you a pack of markers. He had recently turned five, a milestone you were still waiting on, and he received the package of colored ink as one of his gifts. He opened the table's cubby to reveal some coloring books, but as he placed them down, he felt your hand grab his wrist.
Without a word, you had taken the cap off of a light blue marker and began drawing a flower on his skin. Will hesitated for a moment, but when he took sight of your face, he could see the way your eyes visibly drained of worry as you traced the ink. So, naturally, he continued to let you do it.
Little did you know that that tradition would last for fourteen years.
Even at 19, the tradition of drawing on Will’s skin had become second nature, something neither of you ever questioned anymore. He constantly had markings on his skin from you, but he didn’t mind. It was a quiet way for you to find your balance in waves of emotions and for him to remind you that you were never alone.
It had been a long day for you. You had come over after a family dinner that had left your nerves frayed, your usual quietness amplified to the point that Will could tell something was wrong the second you walked in. Now, hours later, you sat on his bed, your legs cocooned into your chest as if that would provide you with any sense of comfort. Your mind was racing with more bad thoughts than good. The faint glow of “Ratatouille” illuminated the room through the screen of Will’s laptop, but neither of you seemed too interested.
Will glanced at you, catching the way your knees were pulled up to your chest, your fingers picking at the hem of your sweatshirt like they had the first time he met you. Without a word, he reached over to his desk, opened his top drawer, and grabbed the same pack of markers that had been sitting there since you were kids — the ones he had received for his 5th birthday — and held them out to you.
You glanced up at him slowly, your eyes meeting his blue ones. The flames of worry dancing in them almost matched the yellow marker you had grabbed from him. Will leaned back against his headboard, watching you through half-lidded eyes. “You’ve been quiet tonight,” he said softly, his voice breaking the silence but not the calm.
With the marker in your hand, you forced arm down until his wrist was stretched out in your lap. You were focused, your brow furrowed in that familiar way as you worked on filling the empty space of his skin with tiny, intricate designs.
You didn’t look up, the marker stilling for only a second before continuing its careful strokes. “Just thinking,” you murmured, the words barely audible over the scratch of ink against his skin. Will sighed softly, gently grabbing your chin with his free hand to get you to look at him.
“About what?”
You hesitated, your hand pausing again. Your eyes flickered up to meet his, and for a moment, you looked like you might change the subject. But then you sighed and went back to drawing, your voice low, “Dreams, I guess. The future. If my parents stop fighting. If I’ll ever feel… well, less like this.”
Will didn’t need to ask what this meant. He’d been your best friend long enough to know—this was the restlessness, the anxiety, the weight you carried in moments like these. Hell, it was the weight you carried all the time. He watched as you traced another flower on his wrist, your hand steady despite the storm you clearly felt inside.
His heart broke, but he didn’t falter.
“You will,” he said simply, the steadiness in his voice making you chuckle slightly.
Your lips curved into the faintest smile, but it didn’t quite reach your eyes, “You make it sound easy.”
Will smiled softly, the compassion he’d always held for you radiating through him, “It’s not. But you’ll get there,” he said, leaning forward just enough so that your knees touched. “And until then, you can keep putting your dreams on me.” He tilted his head, gesturing toward the growing garden of flowers and stars you were creating.
You let out a soft laugh, the sound warming the room. It was the first time Will had heard you laugh all day, “Dreams?“
Will shook his head, his grin small but sincere, “These are the outlines of what’s in your head, Y/N/N — your dreams, your worries, all of it. You’ve been doing it since we were five years old.”
You laughed, your eyes meeting his again, “But what makes you think they’re my dreams?”
“They constantly change,” he explained, a wisp of his blond curls falling in front of his eyes. He looked exactly like the four year old you had met on the playground that winter day. “When we were six, you drew rocket ships because all you wanted was to be an astronaut. And when we were 11, I constantly had drawings of cats and dogs on my wrists because you wanted to be a veterinarian. And last year, you drew the Boston College logo over and over again because you wanted me to be happy at B.C.”
“And what about my worries?”
“They remain more steady, but I don’t mind carrying them for awhile,” he whispered softly, brushing a strand of your hair behind your ear.
Your marker stilled, and for a moment, you just looked at him, your chest feeling a little lighter in a way only Will could manage. Then, with a soft smile, you added one last detail to the sunflower you’d been working on—a tiny heart at the center.
“You’re so corny,” you said, placing his arm back in his lap.
Will smirked, lifting it to admire your work, “And you’re the one who just drew a heart. Who’s corny now?”
You rolled your eyes but couldn’t help the quiet laugh that slipped out. You tucked your legs under you, leaning back against the headboard beside him. He might’ve been corny, but he meant more to you than you could ever know,“You’ll always be my favorite sketchbook, you know.”
Will nudged your shoulder lightly, the marker still in his other hand, “And you’ll always be a flower on my skin.”
Neither of you said anything else after that, the room settling into a comfortable silence. But the outlines of your dreams stayed etched on Will’s arm, just like they always would.
a/n; this might be one of my favorite works that i’ve ever written. i hope you guys enjoyed this as much as i did!

[Video description: Drew Remenda's segment on Sharks skater Macklin Celebrini during NBC's pregame to the 2025 Jan 14 San Jose Sharks @ Detroit Red Wings game, in which he compares Celebrini to the Red Wings' Patrick Kane.
REMENDA: One: size. Two: dynamic skaters. Three: always head up, always trying to make a play. Four: just that leadership, where they lead by example.
(Marc-Édouard Vlasic can be seen skating up to the bench. He casually drinks from a water bottle.)
REMENDA: Even at 18 years old, you have to admit, Macklin Celebrini has been really impressive at how he's tried to lead the San Jose Sharks.
(The camera cuts to a side view of the bench. From this angle, we can see that as Vlasic drinks, he is also gently smacking Remenda in the arm with the grip end of his stick. Alan Hoshida can be heard laughing over his mic from the NBC studio.)
REMENDA: So tonight for me, guys, it is about the big battle between...
(Vlasic starts to skate away and the camera returns to the front speaking shot of Remenda.)
REMENDA: (smiling and shaking his head) ...Macklin Celebrini, Patrick Kane, and (pointing at Vlasic over his shoulder) Marc-Édouard Vlasic and me.
(Cut to studio/ice split shot with Alan Hoshida and Nick Nollenberger in the studio on the left and Drew Remenda still on the right.)
HOSHIDA: Of course! You know what was funny, I saw that number Mack—er, Vlasic's only like 20 or so games behind Patrick Kane in games played. That kind of, you know, surprised me a little bit!
REMENDA: (nodding emphatically) Amazing.
End of video description.]

Do you think Bedsy will break the generational talent Calder curse and win it? Also, who’s his ovi/auston, Leo or Adam? I’m thinking Leo.
i) Yes I absolutely do think he'll win it -- basically no one else is even in his wheelhouse right now. He's going to put up 40 goals with that lineup surrounding him? Not a chance the trophy goes anywhere other than Chicago.
ii) I don't think it's either of them? Ovi and Auston were also drafted first overall, in separate (but adjacent) DYs to Sid and Connor. If anyone's Bedsy's Ovi/Auston, it's Macklin Celebrini. (Largely because Slafkovsky does not appear to be That Guy.)
That being said -- and this kind of answers both questions at once -- I don't think The Child is of... the same model of generational talent as Sid and Connor? Both of those two are perfect Canadian boys, measured and even on purpose, playmakers far, far more than they're goalscorers. Bedard is... if anything, he's the Ovi/Auston, with the exception of being Canadian himself: he's got a fiery spirit, a quick wit, a terrifying release on that shot of his. Ice in his veins pops up more than once in any comment section of a highlight of his.
I think we might be seeing something entirely new with him as an entity. We're nearing the end of the age of Crosby (...at some point he does have to get old, right?) and entering the age of Bedard (good old middle child McDavid is, again, a lot more Crosby -- arguably better, but in the same mould, a creature of the same origin), so all bets are off, really. I'm very excited!

bu vs bc
Tumblr media
January 26, 2024
Mackenzie looked out the window of the bus as the bus was driving them the short distance to Boston College for their first game against Boston College of the season.
Mackenzie turned her music off stuffing her headphones in her winter jacket pocket as the bus pulled into Boston College.
“Ready?” Lane Huston asked nudging her softly.
Lane was someone who surprised Mackenzie but in the best way. They both are freshmen this year and close in age, both similar in the fact they can get overwhelmed sometime by all the boys being so loud and rowdy so Mackenzie and Lane always end up sneaking off for quiet and that’s just how their friendship really started.
They both play really well together and a lot of the time they are on the ice at the same time. They both also have their brother and brothers on the team so it was another thing they’re understood about each other.
Mackenzie shares a dorm with her brother but the dorm next to her is Lane’s so they end up spending a lot of time together especially with the fact they share a lot of classes too.
Cole has been pouting and being dramatic that Mackenzie is replacing Connor and him with Lane.
“Ready.” Mackenzie spoke back nodding as she followed Lane standing up and walking out of the bus and into BC’s Arena.
Mackenzie headed into the locker room and got ready to warm up before the game.
Mackenzie warmed up and soon she was on the ice and she made eye contact with Will and he immediately just looked away making Mackenzie shake her head not wanting to think about that now.
“You good?” Aiden asked his little sister and nudged her gently.
“All good.” Mackenzie mumbled back and finished warming up before the game.
Mackenzie hopped onto her ice for her first shift and darted toward stealing the puck from Will and passed it back to Aiden.
Macklin skated up to the face off dot seeing Will on the other side.
“Are you sure you’re old enough to even be here?” Will chirped with a small smirk making Mackenzie blink surprised he said something to her instead of ignoring her and she missed the puck making Will win the face off.
Will has never out right chirped her like this before and it threw her off her game for a spilt second.
Mackenzie narrowed her eyes not going to let that happen again, she would not let a boy no matter how the pretty the boy was district her from playing her game.
Mackenzie skated back to the face off dot glad to see Will skating over it too, “So can you only win if you’re trying to district your opponent?” Mackenzie questioned bending down and keeping eye contact with Will.
“It worked didn’t it?” Will smirked a small cocky smirk as he leaned closer to her.
“Once.” Mackenzie taunted and leaned closer to him distracting Will as he got a whiff of her perfume and she quickly won the face off skating down the ice with the puck.
Will shook his head skating after her.
The rest of the first period just continued with Will and Mackenzie chirping each other and they were definitely getting looks by Ryan.
No one scored the first period.
BC scored the first goal of the game in the second period.
Will knocked his shoulder into Mackenzie trying to get her off balance but she just spun around not wobbling the slightest and she shot a puck at the goal and Fowler snatched the puck stopping the play.
Mackenzie caught her breath and her eyes connected with Will’s, who was standing close by her.
“You good?” Ryan nudged Will his eyebrows furrowed seeing Will starring at Celebrini and he’s heard the chirps Will has said, Will rarely chirps anyone but his chirps tonight sound more like flirting.
Will quickly snapped his head away from Mackenzie looking at Ryan, “All good.” His cheeks were a bit pink.
Ryan just hummed with a knowing smirk.
BC scored the next goal and the second period ended 2-0.
Jack managed to get the first goal for BU in the start of the third period.
Mackenzie kept dealing with Will chirping the rest of the period but she never let him win another face off.
Mackenzie let out a frustrated breath as the buzzer went off.
BU lost to BC.
Mackenzie just shook her head and skated to the bench not noticing the pair of eyes of her but Aiden did.
January 27, 2024
Mackenzie was warming up on the ice for the second game shamir BC at home today.
She ignoring the feeling of eyes on her knowing who they belonged to and she didn’t want to deal with it right now.
Mackenzie continued to try to ignore Will during the game, not saying or doing anything in response to his chirps and just focusing on the game.
BC scored the first two goals of the game but right before the second period ended BU managed to score their first goal.
Mackenzie smiled as they scored again and finally was able to tie up the score.
Only for BC to score in the second period leading the game again.
Mackenzie groaned as Will started chirping her again, she was starting to like when he ignored her because he has yapped to her the entire last two games.
Aiden raised a brow looking amused at his sister’s annoyed face in response to the BC’s players chirps.
Will got a goal in the third period name became even more cocky chirping her, he only shut up when Mackenzie stole the puck from him and took it down ice and scoring.
Mackenzie smirked back slightly at Will’s face.
Mackenzie groaned as she took her helmet off as the game ended. They lost, both games to BC. She hoped they played better next week in the Bean pot against BC.
Mackenzie spared a glance seeing Will celebrating on the ice with his team with a wide smile and shook her head ignoring the way her heart softened seeing his smile and patted Lane on the back as she walked by down the tunnel.

prologue to my first real fanfic!! feedback is welcome but pls be nice ive never written anything like this before (or really anything at all tbh)
─── ── ── ── ୨ৎ ── ── ── ─── ─
tags; willmack, will smith, macklin celebrini, mens hockey rpf, san jose sharks
─── ── ── ── ୨ৎ ── ── ── ─── ─
Will usually tried to stick to a strict sleep schedule, especially on game days. His coach always drilled it into their heads no matter what team he was on: rest was as important as practice. Most nights, Will followed the rule to the letter—lights out by 10:30, phone on silent, no distractions. But tonight was different. Tonight, sleep was nearly impossible.
It was 2 a.m., and the glow of his phone, dimmed to the lowest brightness, illuminated his face as he perched on the edge of his bed. His roommate, Ryan Leonard, sprawled out in the other corner of the tiny dorm, snored softly, blissfully unaware of the internal chaos Will was navigating. The draft lottery was streaming live, and though he’d told himself a hundred times that it didn’t matter, here he was, legs bouncing nervously.
He hated himself for caring so much. It wasn’t like this was just any draft lottery.
San Jose had a shot at the first overall pick. The Sharks were his team and tonight would determine a lot more than a name on a jersey. Everyone knew what the first overall pick meant, Macklin Celebrini.
Sure it wasn’t set in stone yet but any team would be crazy to not pick the 18 year old first. His rival, the kid who somehow always knew exactly where to be, what to say, and how to get under his skin. The guy Will couldn’t stop thinking about even after they’d gone their separate ways. He was insane, Will hated him for it.
Will’s thumb hovered over the screen as the final envelope was revealed. He leaned forward, his breath catching in his throat.
“And lastly, the first overall pick goes to…the San Jose Sharks.” The camera immediately switching over to Macklin who was sitting on the couch next to the interviewer. His hair had grown since he last saw him and he was wearing an all black suit with a black button up. Will had to pause the stream for a second to get a good look.
Will stared at the screen, his chest tight. For a moment, all he could hear was the rush of blood in his ears. A part of him felt vindicated—of course Macklin would go first overall. Of course he’d get exactly what he deserved. Will could try to be petty, but he couldn’t lie to himself. Macklin was that good. He always had been.
But there was something else, too. A flicker of…something. Will couldn’t quite place it, but it made his lips twitch into a reluctant smile. Macklin in San Jose. It was almost too perfect. The teal jerseys, the California sun, the inevitable headlines: Celebrini leads Sharks rebuild. He could already picture the highlight reels, the contact deals, the flood of texts they would exchange.
He knew there would be texts, there always were, even now, Will’s phone buzzed with a message—some friend reacting to the news—but he ignored it, shutting off the screen and tossing it onto his desk.
He flopped back onto his pillow, staring at the ceiling, the faint glow of his phone still teasing the edges of his vision. His lips pressed into a tight line, the ghost of a grin tugging at the corner of his mouth. Macklin in San Jose. Will couldn’t wait to see it. Couldn’t wait to see him.
Rivalries didn’t just disappear. That much Will knew.
But maybe—just maybe—he wanted this one to.

12: Alexander Wennberg scores a goal on a Utah Hockey Club goalie, and lifts his head with a huge grin.
13. Mario Ferraro hugs Wennberg in the locker room, both of them without jerseys and in underarmor shirts but still wearing their breezers. They pat each other's backs.

15: Sharks players pile onto each other after a goal. All that is visible is the backs of jerseys and helmets.

17: Fabian Zetterlund hugs Macklin Celebrini from behind as Celebrini screams. They are skating the entire time.
18: Will Smith yells, staring directly into the camera (behind the glass) as he celebrates a goal. He is then tackled by Zetterlund.
19: Vitek Vanečěk sweeps a puck away from the goal and stands up for the rebound.
20: Macklin Celebrini screams and jumps onto the glass. Camera view behind the glass, so what is visible when he jumps is his jersey and the #71.
21: Zetterlund, surrounded by Kings players, pumps his arm at the crowd, grinning as he skates along the glass.
22: Tyler Toffoli, fistpumps, screaming, on one knee on the ice.
23: Nico Sturm passes by the glass, arms stretched out to the side. His face is serious even though he just scored a goal.
24: Jan Rutta hits a goal from the blue line. The camera tracks the puck going in, then swings back to Rutta who fistpumps.
25: Rutta fistbumps his teammates as he passes the bench after a goal.
26: Smith and Klim Kostin envelop Granlund in a hug, both grinning. Granlund's face is barely visible between them.
27: Shakir Mukhamadullin is buried in a hug between Smith, Celebrini, I think Barclay Goodrow?, and a player whose face and jersey are not in view. Goodrow tips Mukhamadullin off balance into Smith. All of them are grinning.
28: Toffoli, Wennberg, Thrun, and Luke Kunin hug Cody Ceci, all grinning.
29: Jack Thompson gets on one knee, fist pumping as Goodrow skates up behind him.
30: Shot from the back of Toffoli and Wennberg hugging Eklund. Two other players stand behind Wennberg, indistinct.
31: Walman skates across ice in front of the glass, fistpumping and screaming.
32: Ferraro yells as Smith and Sturm come towards him and then hug him.
33: Toffoli wraps his arms around Vanečěk's head and shoulders in a goalie line, grinning at him.
34: In a goalie hug line, Marc-Édouard Vlasic wraps his arms around Yaroslav Askarov's head and shoulders, shaking him.
35: Kostin embraces a visibly grinning Askarov and they rock back and forth.
36: Mackenzie Blackwood hugs Askarov, cupping the back of Askarov's cage with his goalie glove. Askarov wraps his arms around Blackwood's chest.
37: Mackenzie Blackwood raises his arms, dancing, at the end of a game.
38: Askarov skates onto the ice and then skates on one leg with his hand cupped around his ear, grinning.

Lyrics from the first 1:30 of the song (copied from az lyrics...i'm tired lol)
[verse 1] Some people fall too fast, crash too hard Some are fighting demons that never seem to leave them And some people cut too deep, hard to reach Never answer phone calls, it hurts less if they don't talk [refrain] Holding our hearts in our hands Bury your head in the sand Give but we never get back Folding the cards we been dealt Feelings we shouldn't have felt I'm goin' outta my head [beat drop] [chorus] Three cheers to the ones that don't grow up 24 forever till we self destruct Lifestyles of the broke and dangerous Maybe they'll name a hurricane after us Three cheers to the ones that made it Top spot of your favourite playlist Who cares how we got this famous but Maybe they'll name a hurricane after us [verse 2] We don't wanna go home, we ain't in a rush Never hear the alarm when we coming up Coming down in a hotel hot tub Twenty two missed calls when we wake up [repeat refrain, "I'm going out of my head" is echoed after the final line.]

A One Shot Wonder
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hello and welcome to probably the biggest event we have ever ran on this account! A One Shot wonder is where you guys can request a short form piece for one player per NHL team.
As this is a short form content event, all requests will either be for instagram edits (smaus) or blurbs. Each division will be made up of 4 blurbs and 4 smaus, and the request will be marked with either a (b) or an (s) to indicate as such. This is a first come first serve basis and I will try to update these as I get the requests to avoid any overlap.
The rules are simple, any player over the age of 18 counts but they have to be playing in the NHL at the time of the request (they can't be someone who is in the lower leagues) * note if a player gets traded and their new teams slot has yet to be filled then they will be switched, however if this is not the case they will still be written as if they were with their orignal team.
When you make your request please mention the following: their team, their name, if you want a blurb or a smau, then what you would like the piece to be about.
Here are two examples if you are unsure: Vancouver Canucks, Quinn Hughes, a blurb about him coming home after being in a fight on the ice / Toronto Maple Leafs, Willy Nylander with him and his partner announcing their pregnancy on instagram?

SHAY COSTA REPORTING...CATCHING UP ON PAST COLLEGE AND WOLF PACK
Tumblr media Tumblr media
EDITOR'S NOTE: Shay Costa worked hard covering these games and deserved to have them published. my full-time job has caused me to have to work close to 100 hours a week, and I haven't had the time to post them. Getting them all posted here is important. She deserves respect for the effort she put in... - Mitch Beck All stories by: Shay Costa - Howlings BOSTON, MA - On Friday, Ryan Greene tallied twice, and Mathieu Caron made 32 saves on 33 shots to lead #2 Boston University (26-8-2, 18-4-2 HE) to a 4-1 win over #7 Maine (23-11-2, 14-9-1 HE) in their semifinal win of the Hockey East playoffs at TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts, in front of a sold-out crowd of 17,850. ‘It’s obviously a big win tonight,” Boston University Head Coach Jay Pandolfo said. “At the end of the day, our power play was really good, and our goaltender was excellent.” Greene scored the game's first goal at 8:59 of the first period. Winger Quinn Hutson recovered the puck on a failed Maine clearing attempt and passed it to the front of the crease, where he found Greene, who put it past the stick of Black Bear’s goalie, Albin Boija, for the 1-0 Boston lead. Maine had an opportunity to tie early in the second period when Boston d-man Lane Hutson tripped Black Bear’s captain, Lynden Breen, with just 12 seconds left in the first. The two-minute man advantage did not result in anything more significant for Maine than a rung post. It would be Boston University to the man advantage next when Maine center Nolan Renwick is called for holding at 11:04 of the second. The Terriers would capitalize just twenty-five seconds later. With Shane Lachance screening Boija’s vision, the Maine Netminder could not see the shot from Lane Hutson, who sunk a glove-side goal for Boston, putting them up 2 goals at 9:21. Even with another power play opportunity when Boston’s Nick Zabaneh was called for hooking, Mathieu Caron remained impenetrable through the second frame, and the period ended 2-1 in favor of the Terriers. The third period gave Boston University a chance to pull ahead 3-0 when Maine center Cole Hanson hooked Boston defenseman Tom Wilander at 3:30, but the would-be goal potted by Shane Lachance was called off the boards after being challenged for offsides. Making matters worse for Boston, the Black Bears would have the next penalty when Cade Webber’s stick came up high on Josh Nadeau. In the ensuing Maine power play, Black Bears’ captain Breen picked a corner and found a gap in Caron’s defenses, cutting Boston’s lead in half. This goal, coming in at 6:48, was a quick shift in momentum away from the Terriers, whose lead fell from three to one over just a few minutes. Luckily, a careless holding penalty from Maine defenseman Liam Lesakowski would return the Terriers to the power play. The goal that followed, scored by Greene, was almost the exact play that Shane Lachance nearly scored on earlier in the period. Two Boston forwards got positioning behind the Maine defensemen and made a pass in front of the net to beat the goalie to the other side. Instead of a goal,  Lachance got the secondary assist on Ryan Greene’s goal at 10:43, with the primary assist from Macklin Celebrini. Desperate for a chance to make it to the Hockey East Championship, Maine pulled their goalie in exchange for the extra skater. Despite over three minutes of six-on-five skating, neither team would create another opportunity to score until the final twenty-seven seconds, when defenseman Sam Stevens made a 200-foot bid at the net and secured the win for Boston University. “It’s obviously a big win for us. We get to go to the finals here and have an opportunity to defend the Hockey East Championship,” Pandolfo remarked after the game. BU took home their tenth Hockey East title in last year’s championship and Pandolfo’s first with the team. They will be looking to defend that title in the final match against Boston College. “We have some talented offensive players… We have really good depth on all four lines, we have good D that can move the puck. When you have that, you’re gonna be able to make plays.” Boston University and Boston College will match up on Saturday, March 23rd, at 7 pm to decide the Hockey East championship title for 2024. ____________________________ Hartford Wolf Pack gets shut out in a 6-0 loss to the Providence Bruins in Game Two Providence Bruins goalie Brandon Bussi stops all 34 shots made by the Hartford Wolf Pack on Friday night in Game Two of the Atlantic Division Semifinal series at the Amica Mutual Pavilion in Providence, Rhode Island, in front of 3,765. “The game kind of got away from us,” said head coach Steve Smith after the game. “Once it got away from us, it was really hard to catch.” The game-winning goal, courtesy of forward Vincent Arseneau, was, unfortunately, the very first one Providence scored. Brett Harrison’s faceoff win put the puck on Jared McIsaac’s stick, whose shot through the slot deflected off Arseneau’s stick and past Wolf Pack netminder Dylan Garand just 2:43 into the game. Providence continued their pressure, but Hartford made some dangerous errors to help the Bruins extend their lead. A rough line change sent the Wolf Pack scrambling to regain possession of the puck in their defensive zone, but Bruins alternate captain Patrick Brown recovered the puck along the boards. His centering pass found Jayson Megna crashing towards the net, who launched a rocket past the glove of Garand, putting the Bruins up 2-0 at 13:44. Still reeling from the last Providence goal, the Wolf Pack errors compounded. Matthew Robertson failed to connect with a Hartford forward in the neutral zone, and the puck was intercepted by Providence forward Trever Kuntar. Chipping it back into the Wolf Pack zone, the Providence fourth line rushed 3-on-1 against Hartford defenseman Nikolas Brouillard. Unable to break up the pass from Arseneau to Brett Harrison, the Bruins winger had an easy shot into the open side of Garand’s net. Coming in at 14:08, the Wolf Pack were looking at a deficit of three headed into the first intermission. “ started on time tonight,” Smith remarked. “They were a better team in the first period. … They seem hungrier, and they won a lot more battles.” The Wolf Pack continued to struggle through the second period. At 1:44, Jayson Megna’s high sticking penalty gave Hartford a power play opportunity, but they failed to generate any goals to chip away at the Bruins’ lead. Continuing to make mistakes, both of Hartford’s starting d-men were sent to the box in quick succession—Brouillard for interference at 6:55 and Robertson for tripping at 7:22. With over 90 seconds of 5-on-3 play without either defensemen, it’s no surprise when the next Providence shot lit the lamp. Garand was righting himself after a scramble in front of his net when Ian Mitchell went top shelf, lifting the puck over Garand’s blocker and the score to 4-0 at 7:38. The fifth Providence goal of the night came in the late second period, as Harrison fed the puck to an open Arseneau at the left circle. Holding the puck momentarily, waiting for an opening, he fires the puck under Garand’s glove to bump Providence to 5 at 15:49. The final goal of the evening would cross the goal line at 0:52 of the third period while the Bruins were on a power play. Hartford winger Brennan Othmann was sent to the box for high sticking at the end of the second period and was still serving his penalty time when Ian Mitchell’s shot from the blue line rang the post on its way into the net. While the Bruins dominated the scoreboard, the Wolf Pack had several opportunities that they failed to capitalize on. Halfway through the second period, the point leader from Game One, Tyler Pitlick, had a breakaway opportunity he couldn’t get past Bussi. They also had five power play opportunities, including a full two minutes of 5-on-3 in the third period when Vincent Arseneau and defenseman Dan Renouf were called for roughing and hooking, respectively. “We got a little bit away from what got us to this point in the playoffs,” said Smith. “We got a bit more complicated. We tried to make plays that weren't available to us. we made a lot of simple plays coming out of our zone. … Especially early on, tonight we got away from that.” Both teams have five days of rest before Game Three in Hartford. After a day to rest, Smith knows how to prepare his team for the rest of the series. “We need to work on special teams. They scored a couple of power-play goals tonight and our powerplay wasn’t as sharp as it needed to be… Getting back into a rhythm and being more predictable as a group will help us over the next few days as well.” The series is tied 1-1 as we head into Games Three and Four in Hartford on Wednesday, May 8th, and Friday, May 10th at 7 PM both nights, where the Wolf Pack can win the series at home if they take both games. ____________________________________ Boston College takes NCAA Regional Championship 5-4 in overtime over Quinnipiac, advances to Frozen Four Jack Malone’s overtime game-winning goal sends #1 Boston College Eagles (33-5-1) to the Frozen Four after defeating last year’s NCAA champions #8 Quinnipiac Bobcats (27-10-2) in the NCAA Regional championship at the Amica Mutual Pavilion in Providence, Rhode Island, in front of 5,835. This win was a huge accomplishment for the BC Eagles. “It’s a goal that we set for ourselves at the beginning of the year and something that we worked for continuously, ” said Malone. “It’s a pretty impressive tradition here at BC. It’s tough to live up to, but this group we have here is pretty special.” Despite making three OT saves, including the preceding shot from Colby Ambrosio, Bobcats’ netminder Vinny Duplessis lost track of the puck on the rebound. Boston College alternate captain Jack Malone found it first, shooting it through the mess of bodies in front of the net and into the goal to win the game for the Eagles. “Colby did a great job getting a piece of it and creating some chaos in front. I just tried to follow to the net and pick up the change, and the shot bounced out to me,” Malone said about the game-winner after the game. “I saw it and just tried to rip it. Luckily it went in.” It took until the second period for either team to break the ice with a goal, though the game’s first goal started with a penalty drawn with 21 seconds left in the first period: Boston College’s Will Smith drew a careless cross-checking penalty while trying to unfreeze the puck from a pile-up along the boards. Pinning BC in their zone on the power play, the Bobcats had the control to set up a quality bid, and that came from starting center Jacob Quillan as he redirected the shot-pass from Travis Treloar past BC goalie Jacob Fowler and into the Eagle’s net at 1:19 of the second. Quinnipiac continued the pressure in the Eagles defensive zone. Recovering the puck on a Boston clear attempt, blueliner Iivari Räsänen sniped the top corner of Fowler’s net, catching him on his heels and doubling their lead just thirty-five seconds later. Despite the sudden two-goal deficit, the Eagles played it cool, waiting for their moment, which came as a Czerneckianair’s stick to the face of Gabe Perrault, sending Boston to the power play. In a set-up nearly identical to Quinnipiac’s first goal, Cutter Gauthier’s feinted shot drew Duplessis towards him, leaving the net open for Ryan Leonard’s deflection. Coming in at 2:20, it put BC on the board and the score at 2-1. The Eagles continued pushing to even the score, and they found it in the vulnerable minute after Christophe Fillion’s slashing penalty expired mid-way through the period. Moving cleanly through the Bobcat’s zone, it appeared that Lukas Gustafsson’s pass to Oskar Jellvik was setting up a give-and-go, but Jellvik instead passed it back towards the blue line as Andre Gasseau rotated in behind Gustaffson. Gasseau’s one-timer beat Duplessis glove-side, knotting the game 2-2 at 11:35. The Bobcats made quick work of reclaiming their lead. They didn’t capitalize on the power play earned after BC’s Smith was called for hooking but kept the puck in their offensive zone after it expired. Fowler blocked the long shot from Charles-Alexis Legault, but it rebounded right in front of the net and back into play. Fillion was the first to the puck, kicking it out to his stick and lifting it over Fowler’s right pad to put Quinnipiac ahead at 15:59. In true BC fashion, their response wasn’t far behind either. Just a minute later, Quinnipiac alternate captain Collin Graf was sent to the box for indirect contact with the head of Ryan Leonard. The hit did not shake Leonard too badly, as his wrap-around goal on the power play tied the game again at 17:55. Boston made the mistake of giving Quinnipiac another power play right at the end of the second, giving the Bobcats a man advantage at the start of the next period. Defenseman Drew Fortescue was called for cross-checking at 18:18. Just sixteen seconds into the third period, Jacob Quillan put Quinnipiac ahead for the third time, pulling the rebound of Collin Graf’s wide shot off the boards and sending a low-angle shot in behind Fowler. As the end regulation approached, the Bobcats were doing what they could to prevent another tying goal from BC, slowing down rushes and preventing BC from transitioning too quickly. With less than five minutes remaining, Quinnipiac stopped forwards Gauthier and Jellvik’s rush attempt at the blue line but did not get back into their defensive position as defenseman Aram Minnetian entered the zone. Empty ice ahead of him, Minnetian’s rocket sailed past Duplessis, whose goal was the equalizer Boston College needed, which sent the game into overtime. “It’s always hard to play a team that won,” said head coach Greg Brown, happy to have come out on top of last year’s NCAA champions. “They know what it takes. They don’t beat themselves. You have to do a lot of things right.” Boston College heads to Saint Paul, Minnesota next, where they play Michigan in the Frozen Four and hope to advance to the NCAA championship. _______________________________ Quinnipiac’s 3-2 OT win against Wisconsin advances them to NCAA regionals second round Victor Czerneckianair scores two goals, including the overtime game-winner, in the #8 Quinnipiac Bobcats (27-9-2) win over #9 Wisconsin Badgers (26-12-2) at the Amica Mutual Pavillion in Providence, Rhode Island, in front of a crowd of 6,988 on Friday night. “We battled the whole game, including overtime. There was no panic, no worry on the bench,” said head coach Rand Pecknold. “We really felt like we were going to win.” Quinnipiac is the defending NCAA champion, winning in 2023, and is hoping to protect that title. Quinnipiac drew first blood at just 2:12 of the first period after Wisconsin defenseman Mike Vorlicky failed to extract a loose puck from between the skates of the ref, missing the opportunity to clear. Christophe Tellier recovered the puck and connected with Christophe Fillion, redirecting the pass into the net of Badgers’ netminder Kyle McClellan, giving the Bobcats an early lead. Wisconsin had their answer in the second period. They started the period on the penalty kill, as Anthony Kehrer was called for tripping with just 25 seconds left in the first period. Their PK was successful, and favor turned drastically in favor of the Badgers when Quinn Finley intercepted an outlet pass intended for Travis Treloar with velocity toward the Bobcat’s net and goaltender Vinny Duplessis. Finley’s wrist shot would find the back of the net, tying the game 1-1 at 1:46 of the second frame. Wisconsin defenseman Joe Palodichuk leveraged the momentum shift from Finley’s goal to score his own just over a minute later. Still rattled from the last error, Duplessis failed to get across and block Palodichuk’s wrap-around attempt after he recovered his own rebound, and Wisconsin took the lead at 3:01. Despite the two goals against them in less than two minutes, Quinnipiac settled themselves and played cleaner through the rest of the second period. “You just gotta reset,” Czerneckianair said about moving past mistakes. “Goldfish memory. Forget about it and move on to the next shift.” The Bobcats did reset and even managed to tie it before the end of the period. A faceoff win from Zach Tupker set up Iivari Räsänen to take a shot from the blue line. McClellan’s save bounced dangerously back into play, where Victor Czerneckianair was ready to send it right back over McClellan’s shoulder to tie it at 2-2 at 18:28 of the second. Either team did not score a goal in the third period despite a penalty called on Tellier for high sticking at 14:47, sending Quinnipiac to the penalty kill. At a crucial time of the game, the Bobcats killed the penalty, sending the game into overtime. As the game approached the 60-minute mark, it was clear that Wisconsin was outmatched. Icing the puck several times as they struggled to move it up the ice and eventually drawing a penalty when defenseman Mike Vorlicky was called for slashing, fatigue was a bigger factor in the Badgers’ late game. Despite their exhaustion, Wisconsin killed Vorlicky’s penalty but got sloppy on the line change afterward. “I saw lifting his stick to , alerting him that they made a bad change,” described Czerneckianair after the game. “From there, just stay onside and find a lane to the net.” Czerneckianair quickly settled the pass and sent it flying past McClellan’s blocker and into the net to secure the win for Quinnipiac, bringing the Bobcats one step closer to the Frozen Four. Coach Pecknold had a good reason for describing this game as their best of the season. “We were all in. The guys had blind faith in the coaches. We put a specific plan in place: ‘Here’s how we need to win this hockey game.’... We asked them to have blind faith… and they did it.” Even as defending champions, they have one more team between them and a repeat appearance in the Frozen Four: the top-rated Boston University Eagles. “We’re going to digest this , enjoy it for about an hour, and then we’ll reload and figure out how to attack Boston College.” Their matchup is at 4 pm on Sunday, March 31st, where it will be decided which team advances to the Frozen Four. ______________ Boston College defeats Michigan Tech 6-1 in NCAA tournament regionals  Ryan Leonard scores two goals and two assists for #1 Boston College Eagles (32-5-1) against Michigan Tech Huskies (19-15-6) in the first round of the NCAA tournament regionals held at the Amica Mutual Pavillion in Providence, Rhode Island. “It was much closer than the score at the end. It was a good game,” said BC head coach Greg Brown. “ did so many things right.” It took exactly thirty-six seconds for Boston College to claim an early lead. Read the full article

[Video description: Randy Hahn and Drew Remenda voiceover commentary over the NBC broadcast of the beginning of the 2nd period of the 2025 Feb 6 Vancouver Canucks @ San Jose Sharks game.
HAHN: (over Sharks locker room footage) Mini helmets in the Sharks Foundation's auction in celebration of Black History Month! (over Sharks goaltender Vítek Vaněček sweeping snow away from his net) Created by local artists, these helmets were custom-designed based on the visions of select Sharks players. (over an audience shot of two fans holding up watercolor posters of Sharks rookies Macklin Celebrini and Will Smith, as well as a Canucks fan standing up to show off their jersey to the camera) Text the word "SHARKS" to 76278 or visit sharks.givesmart.com and you can bid now. (over shots of players waiting for the opening faceoff for the period and Sharks defenseman Mario Ferraro sitting in the penalty box) As I reflect back on that promo read, Drew, what I find most interesting is that there's some Sharks players who are having visions!
REMENDA: (with a confused laugh) What?
HAHN: See, you don't listen. That's the problem.
REMENDA: (indignantly) I was busy down here listening to the coaches!
HAHN: Mario Ferraro's in the penalty box serving the last minute-seventeen... (as an aside to Drew) I'll fill you in later. (returning to normal volume) Uh, his penalty from back in the first, so the Canucks will start on the powerplay. Collin Graf on that first penalty kill unit; what does that say about Ryan Warsofsky's confidence in this young man, starting him on the penalty kill twice now in this game?
(The puck is dropped and the Canucks win possession of the puck off the draw. They begin attempting to enter the Sharks' defensive zone.)
REMENDA: Well, it that means he listens to his coaches. And does what they're told to—told the penalty kill.
(A brief pause filled by noise from the arena. Drew giggles.)
HAHN: Graf out there with Barclay Goodrow. (breaking off into a laugh) And Henry Thrun—I heard that!—Jake Walman as well. I'm listening. It's one of my... It's one of my goals for the rest of this season to listen to you.

World Junior Recap Day 1
Alan Letang needs to hear these 4 words: Play Macklin Celebrini more. In a 5-2 win over the Fins, Celebrini (Draft eligible, 2024)was by far Canada’s best player, although he was deployed as their 4th line center. With limited powerplay time against a disciplined Finnish team, Celebrini rarely saw the ice. If Canada looks to have success against the wagon of Sweden, they will need to deploy the Terrier center more than today.
Owen Beck (MTL, 2022 2nd) looked great for Canada today, and while he did not get on the scoresheet he was easily Canada’s best penalty killer and was the key cog of the Canadian checking line which scored the first two Canadian goals. Look for him to start scoring soon.
Denton Mateychuk has taken over as Canada’s number one d and had a strong showing where he was a plus 3 and had an assist.
For the Fins, Niklas Kokko (SEA, 2022 2nd) was excellent and made some key stops to keep the Fins in the game. Up front, Kostas Helenius (2024 Draft eligible) and Lenni Hammenaho (NJ, 2023 2nd) were dangerous, although not factoring into the 5-2 decision.
Canada can continue to rely on a strong penalty kill (⅚) and excellence from Mathis Rosseau (2024 Draft eligible) to bail themselves out. Next up is the Germans who will playing their first game of the tournament. I expect a score similar to today but with the Canadians further dominating the shot and high danger scoring metrics.
Across the Tournament:
The US completed a routine 4-1 win over Norway, I really expected a larger score differential.
The Swedes powered over the undisciplined Latvians 6-0, Lekkerimaki (VAN, 2022 1st) and Bystedt (SJ, 2022 1st) both scored 2 goals apiece, look for that Swedish powerplay to continue to be lethal as the tournament runs on.
Slovakia upsets (???) Czechia 6-2 with their firepower on display. Servac Petrovsky (MIN, 2022 6th) dazzled with a three point performance.

[Image description: Split shot from ESPN's broadcast during a break in play of the San Jose Sharks @ Seattle Kraken game on 2025 Jan 30. On the right is Macklin Celebrini, leaning on his knees with his head bowed in preparation for a faceoff. On the left is his father, Rick Celebrini, watching from the audience as a part of the Sharks' dads trip. He is wearing a teal Sharks jersey and has one hand in his lap and the other curled over his lower face. He looks on impassively with his head slightly turned away at an angle. At this point in the game, the Sharks are down multiple goals in the 3rd period of the game and are about to go on a powerplay after playing very poorly on their last powerplay.
