I'd love to hear more about the tbm au ;)) who's the main cast/their relationships 👀👀👀
Quinn don’t act like we didn’t make this AU together lmao
The Mean Gills are the main focus in their delightful glory, and the Ranchers are around as well because I love them!!
Characters:
Martyn - Mack
Scott - Brady
Jimmy - Lila
Tango - Tanner
Joel - Butchie
Skizz - Seacat
Featuring:
Grian and the Clockers as the rest of the Bikers
TIES and the Neighbors as the other Surfers
Lizzie and Gem also trying to find their way back to the real world
The premise is much the same as the movie, with Martyn and Scott getting stuck in Scott’s favorite movie, but something is more wrong with this one.
For one, a couple of the characters look pretty familiar up close, like a memory Martyn and Scott can’t quite place, not to mention Lizzie’s mysterious boyfriend who she can’t remember the name of.
Martyn didn’t think breaking up with Scott before he left would be such a big deal, but they need to talk about it. That is, before Scott gets them trapped in the movie world forever.
Also featuring:
Everyone flirting all the goddamn time
Grian being mildly self-aware
And of course, a sequel featuring Scott’s older sibling, coming back from college to visit their baby brother.

In other news I’ve been rewatching the descendants movies cause there’s a new one and the series is unfortunately nostalgic for me and the new one seems to have a “sweet character is continuously shunned and overlooked until they’re forced to become evil” trope which I’m a sucker for and the original trilogy has so much romantic tension between characters that aren’t actually in a relationship so all I’m saying is these characters should just be poly honestly-
It’s a TBM situation with the Brady/Mack/Leila/Tanner polycule all over again-

my take on tbm is that mack and lela should've stayed in the real world and tanner and brady should've gone back to the movie. unfortunately no one listens to me

also there's SUCH a difference between tbm and tb2 in terms of lore. like the meeting, the brady *teaching mack how to surf*, mack's feelings about wet side story. and because i view the original as more canon than the sequel because of that fucking ending my fix-it fic (that picks up at the end of the 2nd movie like right at the end) will be retconning to the original canon rather than the sequel's retcons thank you

you’ll find your heart; reprise
Summary: Somehow, Mack and Brady find each other all over again. / Or, a short ficlet following the events of Teen Beach 2.
Fandom: Teen Beach Movie
Relationships: Mack/Brady
Word Count: 608
A/N: so @mistyw273 was asking me about some of my wips and i found this while going through them. it’s really short and i was planning to keep it going but then? i dropped it because i was having trouble with it. but coming back it’s still reallyyyyy short but i kind of like it anyway, and i figured i may as well publish it. so here you go—there’s really not enough fic for these two.
Dedications: i don’t really know who’s into tbm here, but i’m tagging @rorythevambire @cactus-con @bijerbear because i’m pretty sure you guys have seen it? i might write more for this fandom, so if you want to be tagged/untagged for it later just lmk!
* * *
It happens like this: the salt of the sea air is still fresh on Mack's skin, the damp sand still clinging to her toes through her sandals when he approaches the booth, hair the color of the sun and slightly crooked smile even brighter. He asks about the party, the costumes, the movie—his skepticism is an odd mixture of irritating and sort of endearing. And Mack is not the type to flirt, but there is something about him that pulls her to promise him a smoothie as she ties the bracelet around his wrist. She's tempted to ask if they've met before. But she thinks she would remember the sound of his laugh, the glitter of his eyes in the lights.
It happens like this: Mack is not the type to believe in love at first sight, or soulmates or meant-to-be's, but there is something in the way he dips her like he's done it a million times before, in the way she fits so neatly into his arms, like she's supposed to be there. There is something in the way their voices mingle in perfect harmony, in the familiarity of their fingers intertwined as they dance together. There is something in the way that when he smiles, she feels like she's home.
"I'm Mack," she says as the music crescendos and breaks, her heart beating fast enough for her to hear its thrumming in her ears.
He grins, the string lights crowning his head in a golden halo. "I'm Brady." A part of her knows this, somehow. She files it under the assumption that maybe they had a class together once, maybe she's heard his name in passing. But there is something much deeper there, she feels.
It happens like this: the party is over, and the decorations come down and the lights go out, but her night doesn't end. The two of them walk along the edge of the water, with the moonlight glittering silver on the waves, the breeze gently brushing their hair. They talk until Mack has long since broken her curfew, for hours and hours about nothing and everything all at once.
And Mack is not the type to pour her heart out to a stranger. But Brady is bright and warm and soft around the edges, and she feels like she's talking to a friend she's known forever. The conversation spills easily between them, the moments of brief silence always calm and comfortable instead of tense, the laughter always light and true. They are wildly different, she learns, but still have so much that ties them together: their passion for surfing, their love of music, their ability to make each other smile without even trying.
It gets late, and they stand on her porch as Brady types his number into her phone, then hands her back the leather jacket she'd given him when the wind had picked up. He hesitates for just a moment, and they're achingly close to each other and she thinks fleetingly that this is the moment when their lips will meet and the stars will suddenly glisten. But Mack is not the type to kiss boys she's only just met. And Brady's lips just curve into his crooked smile.
"Goodnight, Mack," he says softly, and then turns to leave.
"Brady," she calls when he reaches the bottom of the stairs. He looks at her, and she bites her lip. "Do you maybe want to go surfing tomorrow? There's supposed to be some killer waves in the morning."
And his face lights up like the goddamn sun. God, she could get used to that. "Yeah," he grins. "Yeah, I would love that."

okay thank you @skyhighlesbian no one cares about Teen Beach Movie but i’m STILL thinking about it and it’s like. in theory the concept is really nice like giving Lela agency and acknowledging the shitty heteronormative sexism of Wet Side Story? cool!! great!! but god at what cost!! because i actually really like Brady and Mack as a couple since so much of how they’re written is focused on how they’re both individual people with lives and interests outside of each other and they’re just. not any specific gendered archetypes and they’re really cute. AND more importantly i love Brady because he’s this ostensibly straight bro who just respects the FUCK out of women and is obsessed with a capmy 60s musical!!! that’s fun and unique and i love him. BUT by trying to be subversive with Lela’s story they end up making Brady and Mack way more boring and traditional like i could live with them not having met until later but the idea that Mack is a fan of Lela Queen of the Beach and Brady has never heard of it makes me SO mad bc it fundamentally doesn’t fit with their characters!! Mack didn’t care about musicals or anything before the first movie and her liking this one is weird bc it’s just as silly and campy. and my bigger issue is still w/ Brady bc when he was into Wet Side Story it was a niche/cult hit thing and now that it’s apparently this iconic feminist cult hit he’s never heard of it 👀??? it’s still a fun 60′s beach musical which is what he loves and also that boy respects women!!! so why wouldn’t it still be his favorite movie!! like seriously it betrays everything that makes him such a charming character and i Hate It
