notes: this is modern au! with little relation to the actual story. There are NO YANDERE THEMES in this particular work, I'm more focused on picturing the human side of Sunday (without the detrimental effects of the dream master's manipulations).

He talks a lot. Though you find that every word he says tend to fill with immense knowledge that seemed to peruse all the right places that clicked all the content your teacher had tried to impart upon the class. At this point, he made the teachers' comments seem more like an add on to his lessons. A rendition, almost.

He doesn't seem to have ever possessed a single vacuous thought in his life.

He's resplendent, too. Which added onto the charm, even if the classmate had found the subject particularly boring, they'd have to focus their gaze on him at least. If his charms hadn't worked (how, even), then his commanding presence should do the trick. Even when he wasn't speaking, you found that your gaze often found their way so incredibly naturally to him.

You think he knows of his charm. Otherwise, why would he be so confident in offering to relay the summary of Kafka's 'metamorphosis' so eagerly to you as an accompaniment to your reading.

"Kafka's self esteem has essentially pledged itself upon the approval of his family, which led to the derelict condition of his heart at the post-climax of the story..."

His voice is nice too. If the noises of the library are a cacophony of miserable sounds, his seems to have conducted all of it into an irie melody. You find yourself wondering whether his interactions with you have been a combination of polite passes and a shackled formality to maintain with another. You aren't an idiot, though you can be rather forgiving to details, you certainly haven't missed the unctuous smile and words he gifts to another.

You'd like to think that you'd be able to catch it when his facade starts showing but with the way his golden eyes introduce you to a drowning reverie, you start to doubt it.

It's not your first interaction, since his eager summarisation of Great Expectations two months ago, he hasn't stopped approaching you.

A part of you start to suspect that he had planned this. Every Friday, twelve forty-five, at the fiction corner.

You'd once change your schedule, moving it an hour later and happened upon Sunday impatiently waiting by the non-fiction corner, just two steps away from the fiction corner. When your eyes met, you think you saw a hint of splendor relief. You had quickly turned away. So you missed the rest.

"Are you perhaps tired?" His questions brings you back to reality, your eyes blinking furiously from how dry it had gotten by the past minute of you completing gazing off, "I understand that you had biology just prior to this, so I'd understand if you'd prefer to talk about something... easier to swallow... Macbeth, perhaps?"

There it is again. His not-so-subtle-now-that-you've-caught-on way of leading your time together to become a plethora of unending adventures. He doesn't offer to walk away but rather, a simple remedy of a new book. Sometimes a longer one, he had tried to sneak Harry Potter in once. Sneaky boy.

Seriously though? Macbeth for an 'easier-to-swallow' alternative? Now he's getting sloppy.

You test him.

"How about we part ways for now?" His eyes turned cautious. You decide to push it further, "I don't wish to burden your... already crowded responsibilities," you're certainly aware of his role as the golden boy of the Oak family, "Nor do I wish to force more ingratiating words out of you," You're certainly aware of his hidden affections for you by now, "Now that I think of it, haven't this been going on for... three months? That doesn't sound too fair to you-"

"-Two months," He cuts you off, his eyes now looking slightly strained. His posture taut, "You shouldn't be worrying of anything of the sorts, I'm completely happy to revise any type of stories you're interested in..."

That reminds you, your lie of being interested in Metamorphosis. You're sure that he hasn't read of it, yet, with his superb recounting of it to you? He must have spent his week revising.

"You don't need to be so... genteel," You smile, knowing exactly what a fool you're making of him, "I'm not exactly the most exciting conversation partner."

"Nonsense!" He cuts you off again, suddenly forgetting his manners, "You make me feel excitable things, I can assure you-" His cheeks suddenly turn red. His mouth closes. Then opens. And shuts again.

You let out the cheekiest smile you can possibly muster, "... Excitable, you say?"

You watch his neatly folded collar wrinkle for the first time.

"Nothing scandalous!"

You weren't thinking of such but now you're certainly curious, "I'm not quite sure I believe you."

Oh, did his tie loosen? A new sight to behold indeed.

Best to come at twelve forty-five sharp next week then.

MODERN AU: the girls love to go get midnight snacks together only to giggle hysterically while trying to make their food. until tilly leaves a fork in the microwave and blows it up. it’s really not funny then. because within SECONDS, it is pure chaos.

jack is crying because john shot up so fast he catapulted the kid off him, not to mention the giant bang that woke him. dutch, arthur and bill are ready for WAR. they will defend their family from the pinkertons until they drop. and then they are furious and so relieved because there are no pinkertons, just three girls stood in the kitchen crying because everyones running around and yelling at them. arthur then goes head to head with the fire, trying to put it out while jack sobs theyre all going to die and micah confirms this as true (fucking micah)

lennys looking in sheer horror because he PAID FOR THAT MICROWAVE AFTER THE LAST ONE STOPPED WORKING!! kieran is freaking out in the hallway, and even though he has been told multiple times it was just the microwave, he will not calm down. mollys perfectly calm but somehow making comments that accidentally make things worse. uncle didnt stir, and strauss is just stood with his arms crossed. hosea is trying to calm every upset person down, checking in on them all and trying to reassure the girls not to cry while miss grimshaw pops a blood vessel making them cry.

but chloe! what about sean?! well, you know i saved the best for last.

he is woken up by a loud bang and the sound of pure chaos, and knows its time to leave. hes 12, the men have blown up his da’s car in a final warning to get the fuck out of his home, and hes ready to run for his life. hes grabbing a few bits of clothes and money in a sleepy lady macbeth-like haze (macbeth is excellent plz make sure u read that) and is shooting out of his room. tears are falling his eyes and his breathing is heavy. its only when he runs right into dutch that he realises…hes 22. his da is dead. and hes not awake properly. before long, the fire is put out and hes sat on the sofa, giggling about what he’s just done even though its not funny?? at all?? but lenny’s also there laughing with him in that hyper, over-tired state. (theyre seconds away from bursting into tears)

its hard work, but everything everyones back to bed and calmed down thanks to hosea, miss grimshaw and arthur.

- they got used to their antics after a while

Cyberpunk 2077: No Coincidence - Rafal Kosik 7 Charaktere die in Nightcity das große Ding drehen wollen. Alle drei Zeilen wechselt die Perspektive. War cool mehr über Night City zu lesen. Gewonnen hat am Ende keiner.

Das Klugscheisserchen - Mark-Uwe Kling. Ein Kinderbuch. Ein blaues Wesen weiß alles besser. Papa bloßgestellt, Kinder glücklich. Das hab ich ja komplett vergessen. WILD!

Last Night at the Telegraph Club - Malina Lo Yuri in den 50ern, aber als Chinese American. Standard Lesbian Awakening. "Aber sie ist doch nur nett zu mir?" Ihr hattet Sex. Das ist mehr als nett sein!

Crow Kingdom - Tino Falke Das beste Buch was ich dieses Jahr gelesen hab! Ich will auch einen Freizeitpark in Schutt und Asche legen! Wenn ich dran denke muss ich ne Rezension dem Typen zukommen lassen. Auch wenn Coaster und Parks in echt nicht so funktionieren.

Ein Volksfeind - Henrik Ibsen Doktor Stockmann will das örtliche Heilbad wegen Bakterien schließen, aber sein Bruder/Bürgermeister ist dagegen weil Bakterien nicht real sind. Das ist eigentlich das ganze Buch. Naja.

Kleider machen Leute - Gottfried Keller (Vintage Fraktur Ausgabe) Aus Höflichkeit vom Bettelarmen Schneider zum Grafen werden. Am Ende aber dann doch aus Lüge Profit schlagen und ein ordentliches Leben mit Frau und Kind führen.

Woyzeck - Georg Büchner Ein armer Soldat wird von seinem Chef gedemütigt, frisst für die Wissenschaft Erbsen und bringt am Ende seine Freundin um. Eine wilde Reise durch Fragmente eines 20 Jährigen.

Tschik - Wolfgang Herrndorf Chaotischer Roadtrip von zwei Teenies im Lada. Musste erst warm damit werden. Fantastisches Buch! Zurecht moderne Schulliteratur, die Schülys nicht appreciaten werden.

La Traviata - Guiseppe Verdi Edelprostituierte verliebt sich innen Dude, sein Vater denkt das beschmutzt seinen Ruf. Am Ende stirbt sie an Tuberkulose.

Adas Raum - Sharon Dodua Otoo Ich hab das als Theateradaption nicht ganz verstanden und das Buch hab ich auch nur bis zur Hälfte gelesen. Irgendwie regeneriert Ada in verschiedenen Epochen als Mensch, aber auch als Gegenstand? Am Ende wird sie immer erschossen. I dont know.

Lenin auf Schalke - Gregor Sander Der letzte Urostberliner guckt sich Gelsenkirchen an. Dort ist tatsächliches alles mindestens so scheiße wie im Osten. Das Buch hat mir sehr gefallen. Top 3 des Jahres.

Spiritus Daemonis Folge 01 - Mary Cronos und Jan Grießmann Ein Exorzismus per Chatverlauf. Ja das Buch existiert. Muss noch die beiden weiteren Bücher lesen. Die Verkaufstaktik von Herrn Grießmann auf der LBM ist immer noch das Güteste daran.

Der Schmied seines Glückes - Gottfried Keller Ein Dude schreibt seinen Namen anders und will damit Geld machen. Seine Liebe ist dann aber doch nicht adelig und die fingierte Erbschaft platzt auch. Immer schön verhüten liebste Freunde.

Oha, 22 Bücher. Das fühlt sich nach so viel an? Aber ich hab seit Anfang November auch nichts mehr gelesen. Dennoch 5 weniger als letztes Jahr, und da hab ich 5 Monde nichts gelesen. (Hatte da auch genausolang keinen Job. Naja.)

Meine Top 3 des Jahres wären dann... Platz 3 Lenin auf Schalke Platz 2 Tschik und/oder Soltaire (plus McBee Ehrenhalber) Platz 1 Crow Kingdom

alecto has a weird misandrist complex in which she hates men but is also performing for them all the time , a man hating lesbian who also can’t escape using the patriarchy to validate her skills and ambition. she loves spiders bc they are matriarchal . she bases her worth off of how well she appeals to others and has so her whole life to the point she barely has a sense of self . she wants to kiss lily evans on the mouth and she worships her like an absolute angel it’s serious and vicious . the few scraps of herself she has left are all about knowledge. she is obsessed w language and translation and tries to learn literally any language she can ever . despite this she still can’t give herself a voice . she wants barty crouch jr dead for the crime of being a man and a degenerate which like fair of her . evan n reg r chill tho bc game respects game . i think if she got the chance to explore Life she’d actually choose to become a teacher like voldemort Made her become , but she would be actually pretty good tbh. her and barty regularly brawl in the teachers lounge. alecto kicks his ass. in the modern college au in my head they are regrettably roommates and each conversation they have sets gay lesbian solidarity back 15 years . alecto is studying classics and women’s studies as a minor …. ik feminism is a big part of her character but chat do not reduce her to this u don’t get it … she has a deep connection to lady macbeth and the movie the handmaids tale . here is her vibe :

and amycus is his mothers son who does whatever alecto wants him to bc he just wants to be by her side. they are so aggressively co dependent . he is obsessed w magical plants and herbology and his favorite thing in the world is a magical venus flytrap he keeps in his dorm that evan keeps putting random drops of blood into the mouth of . his dream career would probably be using magical plants to make new medicines n poisons n such . hogwarts resident weed dealer . therefore he n barty r actually chill . he just misses his mom like so much 😭 he is consistently in morning over the life he could have had . he’s pretty good friends w everyone he’s not like a loner but he is lonely deep in his chest…… of course bc alecto is his sister #feministwomenloveamycuscarrow . every carrow is linked to an insect in my head and amycus is a praying mantis . …. he has the same capability for cruelty like he also is on the field w alecto during the war but like he’d rather be gardening :/. modern college au he’s probably studying biology and is the rlly menacing president of the gardening club. and u think this means he is secretly sweet but he’s literally evil. him n reg have a crazy friendship going in in which they do the craziest romantic shit but it is completely platonic. i’m talking like candle lit dinners . in my head he has a weird situationship w rabastan (who is another story….) but also i have a *whispers* oc….. who in the fic i have planned for them in my head (which i will never write) he ends up w and his name is maxx <3 but i will never talk abt ocs on here . i have some shame. amycus would follow alecto to hell if she asked (he just wishes she would stop going the- *car runs me over*)

i have so much more i could say abt them . there is so much in my head they have such a deep and complex story … i will take any excuse to yap abt them . anyways they are both gay and one day i will write the alectolily sugar mommy au in which lily is the sugar mommy bc she’s a super famous author n alecto works at an antique book store doing translation n repair <3333 and it’s completely accidental lily keeps paying to borrow these super old books and eventually she just pays for alecto to come over and help her research and then one thing leads to another . and alecto is guffawed when she realizes. amycus. thinks it his hilarious. i think her and lily would have an academic rivals to loves thing going on in canon and in like Any school setting but also just in general. they could be 5 years into their relationship and still competing to be the smartest . i think there is rosekiller alectolily double date hilarity potential. also have a lot of thoughts abt them paralleling to the rosier twins but what do i know … i will leave that to the masters ….

i've barely written anything in the past two months (which were rough for several reasons) but i'm trying to get back to it. list of my wips that i actually intend to finish:

dig: holes au for valzhang week murder mystery prompt. late by this point obviously but i will finish it at some point! this was inspired by my workplace showing the movie holes. it started out smaller but at this point i have all of the nine main heroes of olympus characters involved somehow.

black night salt up from the ocean floor: frazel oneshot, just something weird for me, set in 1942 alaska

how many children had lady macbeth?: prequel fic, partly finished, goes back and forth between 1940-41 new orleans and 1942 alaska and sometimes 1927 new orleans.

sequel fic: haven't settled on a title yet, even though this is my longest and most involved wip. covers at least the next ten years of hazel's life if not more

list of notes app wips that i have something down for but probably won't touch until the urge strikes:

frank meets the lost hero trio oneshot. they pick him up on the quest to california to free hera because he's hitchhiking to camp. obviously the timeline's off but i thought it would be funny.

valzhang soulmates au where their name turns up on your arm. canon compliant for how they meet in mark of athena for maximum messiness. an "everyone disliked that" situation

sequel to the halting problem. i have a rough trajectory in mind but its harder because i'm not sure whether to wrap it up during house of hades or include blood of olympus. also most of what i have down is either hazel's distraught inner monologue or percy and frank bullying leo.

frazel tartarus au. honestly i had two scenes in mind and nothing else but i wrote them! hazel drank out of the river of misery and lived to regret it.

the lost hero au where nico and hazel are switched. i genuinely do want to revisit this bc i had several scenes down and i think it would be fun to publish even as an incomplete project. i just have to remind myself that i don't actually have to add to the worldbuilding or actually try to rewrite the lost hero.

underworld siblings modern au where the three of them are all trust fund babies. i decided to make it a frazel bodyguard au while i was at it but its mostly about the siblings and their antics.

frazeleo multichapter au where they're all young adults who become fugitives from camp jupiter and meet each other on the run. they have to survive and stay one step ahead while also having to deal with each other.

a few others that i almost certainly won't finish: yellowjackets au (too long), hazel/reyna story (no plot), platonic frank & hazel au based off of the movie plan b (too undignified) (great movie tho)

i also want to move all of the ao3 fics on my rec list to ao3 bookmarks so i can organize them better, but i don't want to bookmark works without actually reviewing them and i've been putting that off because its time consuming to do all at once, but i'm going to work on it!
