Things in general are not great rn, tbh. I've been out of work for 2 months, have about $15 to my name (my parents are giving me money tomorrow but I don't have income at all otherwise), and on Saturday my 15-year-old moved ~1000 miles away to live with their dad. But hearing from you and @jimothybarnes in the ask box recently, and talking to @feedingonthegoore and @the-moon-in-the-gutter every day, keeps my despair manageable, along with all the other sillies and ghesties in my phone. So I try not to complain 🫂

The best way to romanticize your first day of school and the beginning of autumn is to pretend to be elena gilbert or a witch , especially if you live in a small town. Wear long-sleeved shirts with buttons, low-rise jeans, converse, do a makeup on the shades of brown and black, In the morning go to the bar and have a coffee with your friends, start writing down your life on a diary, take a walk, light a candle, do some simple rituals, find some stray cats for the city and bring them food, watch movies whimsigoth, wears boots, listen to the fleetwood mac. Oooohh the possibilities are endless!!

Ttn! R would be making all of their clothes! Imagine that r is a known designer by then and now the girls always have exclusive outfits on bc their mother is literally the designer! And it's all specifically designed for them too 🥺 and when they're a bit older, Hobie brings them along R's shop so they could help their mum make outfits (r really values their opinions!) like they would have the best ideas too bc duh, their mum and dad are both icons!! Just look at Hobie! Also every time they come visit, R's staff literally cannot focus bc they're so adorable bossing everyone around (especially mona, the girl boss) and they can't help not to listen to their squeaky voices and awwe at their little suits that you of course custom made for them ❤️

Every special occasion they trot over to the shop for a fitting after they helped you in designing them. Hobie always loves those days bc he always ends up having something new too, whether it's a similar jacket to b and r or a new shirt that is similar to the one you designed on that day he confessed his feelings for you (he's hiding tears btw)

Billie and Ramona loves their designer mum not because of the clothes they get but because of the time they spend together 🥺

:: 🦊 i remember too NY’s Eve on our church wall, and the agile fox that slowly, without fear, passed us a few metres away to anoint the new year, inviting cupreous fox stories from each. those fireworks were unusually brilliant, seeing as people had nothing else better to do in lockdown i guess, and all (making us laugh, and feel vaguely ridiculous) seemingly cloudbursting just above the canopy of our heads, ‘... like our own rare thoughts, a chemistry of stars’, as your fellow countryman and great pal Stephen Dedalus might say. i remember too that incongruous and very goofy car chase just after midnight, six turbo-charged hysterically loud and flashing modern police cars after a single gasping 1.4 litre rusty red incompetent Vauxhall Corsa: cue you and me with old-people tartan blanket over our knees, champagne warmed faces, rosy cheeks, incredulously laughing and cheering on the overly optimistic recidivist underdog (broom broom, crash; capture: conviction. repeat ♻️), and then the slow walk home arm-in-arm, passed the castle gates, moonlight over the barbicans and tower, saying a sleepy cheerful ‘hi mac’ to the mournful ghost of King Richard II before opening more wine and our Christmas presents from one another 👑🏰🎁🌌🦢
