What , And how did you start pairing lotura, And Plance .?

Ooooh boy am I excited to answer this!!! This is going to be a long answer, hope you don't mind! Because I have some specific memories about these two ships, particularly lotura, that I would absolutely love to share with you!

Prepare for a long read! Hehe

Starting with lotura, when season 3 came out and Lotor made his debut, of course I was all 👀👀👀 Because that day something awoke in 19 year old me that I didn't realize could ever be awoken lol. And I wish I could remember exactly what my reaction was to his cat-and-mouse chase with Allura in the episode "The Hunted", but at the time I must not have considered the idea of them ever going in the direction of a romance. Looking back now though, how could I have been so blind??! That chase scene is HOT. I mean just look at them!!! Look at Lotor especially woah mama 😳

Season 4 was mediocre to me at the time, I will confess, for a lot of different reasons. But then season 5, man... SEASON 5!!!! I remember it was March 3rd, 2018. I wasn't keeping up with the show anymore, but I just so happened to see an article online that said season 5 had been released the day before on Netflix. I told my sister and we decided, "eh, let's watch at least the first episode."

And we watched the first episode, alright. And then another, and then another and another until we watched all six episodes in one sitting. We were both blown away! Lotor... Allura... together???? 😲

Their adventures, their chemistry, their clear attraction to one another... I was OBSESSED!!! I shipped them hardcore after that. They were and are still my #1 OTP, and it's because of them that I really tried to work hard and improve my art! I wanted to draw them all the time, making mini comics and AUs, and while their tragic ending actually left me in tears and I was upset for a really long time, I can now say that I have been able to heal and move on from it--eh, mostly anyway, haha.

It still hurts, but 5 years later I feel that I've matured and come to a greater understanding and acceptance. I have come to really appreciate how perfect they are for each other, both aesthetically of course (cuz lookit that sexual dimorphism babeyyy) as well as the many, many things they have in common. I have also come to appreciate their flaws, their imperfections, and the mistakes they made regarding each other and their relationship. They may have gotten a sad ending, but they were still truly equals in every way. It's just beautiful, and my love for them now is stronger than ever :')

For Lance and Pidge on the other hand, it's not quite as clear as when I started shipping them! I remember rolling my eyes at Lance and Allura's first meeting, like "okay Lance is one of THESE guys, here we go 🙄"

Other than that I didn't really ship Lance or Pidge with anyone! If I'm recalling correctly, I don't think it wasn't until after season 6 that I started shipping them together. I remember reading metas and analyses of their relationship that people were making in anticipation for season 7's release, and the more I thought about it, the more I started to really like the idea of Lance and Pidge getting together! And there are definitely subtle hints throughout the earlier seasons of Pidge's feelings for Lance, as well as their fun chemistry with one another, like the episode "Space Mall"!

The hints are not so subtle to me now, but back then it wasn't until I watched season 7 that I actually became hopeful that they could be a couple! I especially loved the moments when Pidge indirectly called Lance "cute, in a creepy, hideous sort of way" lol, and when Lance become very protective over Pidge in such a way that I don't think we ever saw him react before! I was honestly taken aback by that moment!

And again, their ending was definitely less than satisfactory, particularly Lance's ending (still hate it with a passion), but just like with Lotura's relationship, I have also come to appreciate many things about Plance's relationship today. While Lotor and Allura have so much in common and are able to reach an understanding with each other that they can't with anyone else, it would seem at first that Pidge and Lance are far too different to be compatible. And it is true that they are very different, but for one, that can be a good thing! The foundations of some relationships are built off of their differences. It can make someone more compassionate and more open-minded when they have a willingness to accept and appreciate the differences they have with their partner, and a willingness to take a genuine interest in the things that their partner is passionate about, even if they don't completely understand.

And two, at the same time, Pidge and Lance DO have things in common! They both love their families, both have a stronger connection to Earth compared to the other paladins, and they are able to bond with one another over fun pastimes such as video games! How cute is that??!

And just like with Lotor and Allura, I also love Pidge and Lance for their flaws. It did take me a while to come around to Lance, because while he has his funny moments and one-liners, I also found him very annoying at times lol. But I think the fact that he can be really annoying honestly makes him the most realistic character in Voltron. Not necessarily the most relatable, at least not for me, but definitely the most human! Because there are people in our real lives that we love and cherish deeply, but they absolutely have their moments where you go, "ugh, you're so annoying and it really frustrates me when you act this way" but we still wouldn't trade them for the world 🥰

And just to draw one last comparison between Lotura and Plance, I especially LOVE how incredibly different the two pairings are even from each other! To me, Lotor and Allura are sexy and passionate, while Pidge and Lance are pure and fun! They're all so unique and special in their own ways, and they bring so much to the table, both for their characters and for their relationships.

I can't help but write essays every time I get asks, I'm so sorry lol 😭 There's so much more I could say about these guys, but I think I'd better stop here haha! I had a lot of fun writing about Lotura and Plance, and I hope you had just as much fun reading this! I really love these characters a lot. I'm so incredibly grateful that they exist, even if in the form of fiction, and I'm even MORE grateful that my love for them has continued to grow over the years. Oh and one last thing: we were robbed of a lot of different potential interactions with a lot of different characters, but I have to say it would have been fun to see more of Lotor and Lance interacting with each other! Lance was always acting out due to his jealousy, while Lotor on the other hand mostly just ignored him lol.

EVERYTHING I SAY IS MY THEORY AND OPINION NONE OF IT IS FACT!!!

First, this show would be labeled as a Hulu original and I’m not sure which studio would back it. The Hulu Original team is very very small so I’m hoping they bring more than just that team in. Obviously they have Sarah and that other guy (his name is escaping me) so I’m sure they’re fine.

Disney owned 60% of Hulu up until yesterday. They’re buying it in full for like 8 billion which to me is fucking wild since everyone in Hollywood is struggling rn. I thought they were supposed to be selling not buying but that’s above me.

Second, Disney has been saying for years now that they want adult content and buying Fox was supposed to help them with that. I’m not sure they’re ready to make that leap yet. Audiences are so unsure of their usual content like animated movies and marvel. I’m looking forward to Wish but I’m not sure it will live up to be the ‘100 years story’ it’s supposed to be. And if it doesn’t that’s going to be a huge slap in the face and it should be a wake up call.

The only adult content Disney has been actively pushing is the Simpsons. It’s on the D+ banner all the time and it streams on Hulu. Honestly the Simpsons isn’t even that adult I’ve been watching it since I was a kid. Yes it has the inappropriate jokes and stuff but if kids are watching it it’s not that adult. And they have a section in the universal theme park soo…

Ever since Disney bought 20th Century Fox and rebranded it to just 20th Century Studios they have been sticking those movies and shows on Hulu. It would not surprise me if there was never a proper release for 20th Century in theaters again. Unless it’s a big name movie, but even that one with Ana De Armas and Ben Affleck went straight to streaming.

That being said, my theory is that now Disney has full control of Hulu that’s going to be the home for everything Fox/20th Century no matter what. And that Disney will treat it like a black label streaming service if you know what I mean. Like all their stuff they consider not for kids and TV-MA will live there.

I feel like my theory is right given that the trailer for Echo came out today and it’s going to stream on both platforms bc of how violent it is. That’s a good thing to me bc that story needs to be violent and we need the Netflix era marvel vibe back.

But back to ACOTAR, if a studio backs it it’ll probably be 20th Century. And Ik ppl are saying HBO would be a better home for this type of content. I think they can absolutely give ACOTAR a big ass budget bc that’s Disney money. They just have to spend it right.

Streamers like Amazon for example have produced good fantasy/sci-fi stuff with good vfx. I Never thought they could produce The Boys until it came out and the Lord of the rings spin-off.

I think it’s about how they spend the money and what they can give to vfx. Bc of that, Make-up, and costuming will make or break them in the overall visual aspect.

If done right this show can be their game of thrones, and it should be! This is a huge get for them! But that’s my theory, I’m sorry this was so long lol

One of the things I like best about 99% remote work is I get to spend more time with people who matter most while hustling. This journey with grief with my dad is life-changing as I still can't believe we're co-existing after 38 years of being in the darkest "dark" room. These days, we rarely fight and he's been more open. Since Dad is not a talker, this is more than liquid gold. The past weeks, he's been a bit too sappy and thanks me for random things. I shared with him again and again that he doesn't need to thank me. Why, so? It's my mom's huling habilin #2. But, things hit differently these days. I'm seeing my dad give more effort out of authenticity. He says sorry and he means it. He shares his story with less shame. But, syempre, I know what he means. Ayoko lang mag-senti na naman siya. He still misses mom a lot more lalo may apo siyang bago, lalaki pa. Aburido pa. I told him that was Mom's goal for us before she expired. For us to have a comfortable life. Mom calls it "yaman" but I call it comfort. We don't have much, actually; but, as long as we're able to afford the basics, travel, eat out, and not stress much on where we're currently at, we're good. Ako kasi, health is top prior e. Always. Approved din naman ng super duper friend kong watch collector na high roller ang aking vintage find. Ni-guide din niya ako what to check before buying the watch, plus super oks ng seller! Bilis kausap saka madali maka-gets ng mga tanong. Nag-recommend kasi siya ng "dream" watch hack pero sabi ko, hard pass kasi 'di ko pa deserve. Mga 'pag sing-angat ko na 'yung level niya, saka na lang siguro.

On the subject of Posts About Female Characters in Fandom That I Don't Want To Comment On Because I Don't Want To Fight:

I've also kinda been thinking that there's some kind of... I dunno, terrible feedback loop when it comes to canon female characters. You know, there are fewer decent girls and women written in mas media because sexism, and also people are harsh toward the girls and women they DO get and prefer the boys and men because sexism, so in response future canons focus more on the boys and men, so with more people attaching themselves to the boys and men, rinse and repeat. Like, okay, you want me to get fandomy about a character? For me at least, odds go way up when you can point to a character who is clearly competent and still sometimes go, "lol look at that idiot." The lol is vital, I should note. We need to be able to laugh at them sometimes. Shamelessly tease the blorbos. A lot of times, even when ladies are present, you don't see people doing this with them. Why?

For example, let's look at Avatar the Last Airbender. This is a show that is is really quite good with its girls, by children's animation standards, especially for the time! We have a good balance of boys and girls, and they're pretty well-characterized! Now let's go in with my "competent but sometimes an idiot lol" standard.

First, obviously, we have Sokka. Sokka is like the single best example this show has to offer of a character who is highly competent while also having idiot moments. Zuko is also a strong contender. Probably not a coincidence that shipping these two got so much more popular after the Avatar-on-Netflix resurgence: fandoms love to see their dumbasses.

But can we really describe any of the girls this way? They're mostly just straight-up competent. Ty Lee maybe, but she's more quirky than dumbass. Katara comes the closest to having proper dumbass moments, and what do you know, fans have historically been harsh on her.

But then, Katara's moments aren't really framed as being funny. She steals from pirates! And we get a story out of it for an episode, and fans get to argue with each other about whether she was right to do so or not. Nobody ever looks at that moment and says, "haha what an idiot I love her." It's less like Sokka worrying about Enemy Birds!!! and more like Sokka breaking the rules in Wan Shi Tong's library. Sure, some people might fold the latter into poking fun at Sokka's dumbassery, but I don't see it happening if we don't also get moments like the former.

BUT. There is a young woman who's a major character in the overall franchise that I liked well enough. Korra is a competent character I would point at and affectionately say, "haha look at this idiot." But a lot of people don't like her! And I don't mean, "a lot of people don't like Legend of Korra" because that's fair, it's a lot more inconsistent of a show and some people aren't going to like that. What I mean is, I've seen a lot of people who just straight-up hate Korra the character because... she's really strong and sometimes does dumb things. Is this solely people not liking when a woman exhibits these traits, or is it something people are more critical of when the overall show is not as good as its predecessor? Perhaps a combination of both?

BUT BUT. Then we have the Kyoshi novels too! Kyoshi is totally a competent dumbass. And I don't think I've ever seen someone who was annoyed by her. These books have had a pretty positive reception. Is this because fandom is more willing to fall for a woman character nowadays, or is it because the novels have a much smaller audience than the TV shows?

OR. Is this just the result of the Strong Female Character(TM) going down in popularity since ATLA aired? Becoming more criticized? Because once upon a time that was considered the single best way to write your girls and women, and Strong Female Characters(TM) never got to have dumbass moments. But then again, while they're less common, Strong Female Characters(TM) are still alive and well. And they're still boring. Are they common enough to be part of the explanation for why fandoms are less likely to focus on the women? Or is the fact that they still exist evidence that there are still many people who wouldn't like a more interesting female character?

I don't actually have any answers. But I think it would be a good conversation to have. I'd rather grapple with these questions than just go, "HEY MISOGYNISTS STOP WRITING MORE FIC ABOUT THE MEN" every time someone brings it up.

In honor of Memorial Day Weekend just passed. Uncle Louis my uncle "Louie".  A WW2 Merchant Marine...sailed Convoys in WW2 was torpedoed and went out again...he later worked at the Brooklyn Navy Yard. Building aircraft carriers with his bare hands, Wadda a guy. Speaking of family Uncle Louie is who I came out to when I was 16. I remember he told me to come to him if I had a problem. He said there's nothing I could tell him that he ain't heard of or done himself. 

So one Saturday afternoon I went over. He could see I was in a state, so he sat me down, and said in his gruff yet kindly way, "...Talk to me boy".  I told him I thought I might like some of the boys at school. He blew his top. ...but in an unexpected way. He said ...said my dear Uncle Louie he sez: "...What?!!!"Is that all?!!... I thought you got a girl pregnant!"

Turns out he my grandma my ma, and all my aunts knew since I was little. They always called me...sensitive. Code for...well "sensitive". Mind you my teen years like everyone was hell in a speeding poop-stained burning dumpster. However, my family cut me slack on the Queer thing. Most I later found don't. If Netflix makes a short video of my life that scene with Uncle goes in. Well, that and when me and some of my cousins saw that UFO.

Everything went great since then. Clay and Y/n had been in their relationship for two years, Clay now 24, Y/n 23 and Layla 6.

Clay had never been happier, he had the girl of his dreams in bed with him almost every night, he had a sweet little stepdaughter who he didn't imagine to have, but he wouldn't change anything about her. His streaming career was a blast, he always had fun with his friends while earning money for it! Who wouldn't love that.

Of course with times it wasn't always this full of sunshine, but they needed those bad nights to learn more. To be better.

The first fight

"I have to stream today!" Clay shouted.

"Of course," mumbled Y/n back. Of course she was happy for him and his successes, but lately he didn't show that much interest in her anymore. She hadn't talked to him about this of course, it made her feel egoistic and selfish.

When Y/n heard the door close she sighed and turned on the TV, she was sure she would fall asleep on the couch or maybe she would go to Layla's room and lie in her bed. Layla wasn't there, she had a sleepover with a friend of hers and it made her feel even lonelier.

After looking around on the tv-servers she couldn't find anything she liked so she opened Netflix. She began searching for a movie or maybe a new series she could start but ended up watching 《The Amazing Spider-Man》 (you can vision something else if you don't like it but I'm just a hard core Andrew Garfield fan ;-;) Y/n was almost done with the second move when Clay emerged from his room, he looked satisfied with himself, probably had a good video.

She couldn't help herself but scoff at him, he didn't even pay her any mind let alone wander with his eyes to the couch where she sat. No, it was as if she wasn't there, and she was probably being over-dramatic but it had been like this for at least a week and quite frankly was she getting very bored and impatient with him.

"What's wrong?" asked the boy in question when he heard her scoff.

"So you do know I'm here!" she said rather annoyed.

"What?"

"Yeah, 'what?'."

"Are you on your period or something?" he didn't mean to say that, it slipped out. He knew it came over as if he was an asshole, but George had been talking his ears off about clichés one being about women's monthly problem.

"I-i didn't mean that-"

"Sure, of course you didn't. And for your information I am not."

"O-okay, then what's the problem?"

Y/n just rolled her eyes, "I'm going to bed, have fun on your stream."

"Why are you walking away from our room?" he asked once he noticed her walking in the opposite direction.

"Well, you never tell me when your steams are done, and I don't like sleeping on the couch the whole week so I'm sleeping in Layla's room tonight."

"What?"

"I'm sleeping in Layla's room tonight."

"Bu-but the stream is done."

"Okay, good for you."

"Are you mad at me?"

"No, I'm fine."

But he could tell in her eyes she was holding something back, there was something bothering her. "tell me what's wrong, please."

"Nothing is wrong," by now they had reached Layla's room. Y/n went to open the door, but Clay had placed his hand on top of hers that was holding the handle.

"There is something bothering you, tell me what. Please Y/n, you're mad at ma and I don't understand why!" there was a seriousness and slight desperation in his voice.

"Okay, let's start shall we? Do you know the last day we have slept together as in, in the same bed? That was last week. You have been so occupied with your streaming and your youtube-ing, you haven't look at me all week! Even Layla asked when her 'daddy' was coming to pick her up again. I couldn't even tell her, because I hadn't spoken to you all week!

And I understand your job, and that it takes time! But you decided to come in this family, so you need to make time for us too!"

"i thought you knew what you needed to expect with me and my job?"

"I thought I did too, and I also thought you were ready to be with me, and to be a father to Layla, but here we are."

"You don't think I am a good father to Layla?" his voice had lost all its anger he held from his last question, it was filled with hurt, and sadness. How could he not have noticed he was hurting them so bad.

"You were," she said, "In the beginning you were the best, then your job slowly became more and more important to you. I can understand that. I have had my late night's too, and my early morning 'cause of mine, but this last month you haven't eaten breakfast with us, you haven't eaten dinner? You were glued to your screen. I slept on the couch this whole week, because you were streaming and I couldn't walk in, because god forbid they know THE Dream has a girlfriend!"

"You think that's why I didn't want you in the room?"

"What was I supposed to think then?" she asked getting quite annoyed at him again, but also feeling relieved she finally had this weight lifted of her shoulders. "What was I supposed to think when you shut me out of the room because you were streaming, I wouldn't have minded to stay in there and keep quiet."

"I didn't want all this attention on you! I was scared about all the hate people would start posting! I was scared you'd get scared! That you'd get scared and leave me.."

"I am not leaving," she sighed sadly. The hurt in his voice was breaking her. "But cant you find a balance between streaming and family? Or are we not the family you wanted in the end?"

His eyes widened and he pulled her in a bone crushing hug, "Of course you are!" he said while kissing her head, her face, her cheeks, her neck. "I could never wish for anything better."

"then start showing it," she whispered to his lips, "please, we both need the reassurance from time to time."

"I am sorry for noticing sooner," he whispered while crashing their lips together. Just then he remembered how long ago it was indeed, that he had felt her lips to his. It had been so much longer than he knew.

"Let's go to our bedroom, huh?" he smirked.

"yeah, but don't think that'll make all your problems go away! We'll have to talk about this stuff."

"Will do," he smirked kissing her again, before scooping her up in his arms, "but now... I will show just how much I do very surely love you and this little family." He whispered a tad bit seductively. Who was she kidding it was very much seductively.

After that the fights had been way calmer and mostly playful, they did end in the same way most of the time...

Clay still streamed and made videos for YouTube but it was a lot more calm now, he would make time for Y/n and Layla, and he would try and adjust his sleeping arrangements with Y/n's instead of George's.

In the first year they also lived together with Nick, or Sapnap, but at the end of that year he had found himself a girlfriend and moved in with her. So now it was a big house for them three.

Nick still visited often and was still the only one who knew about Y/n and Layla, he would often tease Clay on camera and the others never had any idea what he was talking about.

Y/n understood his reasoning about not telling anyone on his gaming platform, she also didn't press the matter, she was happy how everything was now. The only thing he would really like, was maybe, someday get married. And maybe, someday, a second child, but with a great father.

What she didn't know was that Clay had those plans, he was going to marry this woman and that was end of story. There was no one else for him just, his Y/n.

The proposal

Clay was very nervous. He had everyone involved in the surprise, except Y/n of course.

M/n was on distracting duty, she had taken her daughter out on a little city trip. They went shopping, visited the beach, eaten at her favourite place. When it was over and they were riding home Y/n was confused and scared to find her mother softly crying besides her.

"Mom?" she asked, her eyes going from the road to her mother, "what's wrong?"

"Nothing," sighed M/n, a soft smile adorning her cheeks while she wiped the spilled tears from her cheeks.

"Don't shut me out please," you are literally crying."

"But I am also smiling."

"You are confusing sometimes mom."

"Guess you got it from me then."

Y/n couldn't help but smile softly at that. While the two were joking around in the car Clay was dying from nervousness at home.

He had made a path with rose petals that led to the balcony. He knew it was her favourite part of the house. He would find her leaning on the railing at staring at the sunset or sunrise. He would enjoy watching her watch the sun, she always looked so peaceful and happy. Her face held a bright smile and her brows weren't furrowed, she was calm.

they had talked about getting married and starting a 'new' family together, so he knew she didn't want something grand, she wanted something sensual and thoughtful.

"Calm down son," said the voice from D/n. He had been helping the distressed blonde with making the food and laying out everything perfectly.

"Yeah," sighed the blonde, even though it wasn't a question.

"She'll say yes."

"You think so?"

"I know so. I've never seen her so happy with anyone else. Maybe when she delivered Layla, but not even Jake, when he was tolerable, made her happy."

"Okay," he took in a deep breath, "I can do it."

"Don't chicken out now," Y/n's dad laughed.

"I won't," smiled Clay, "she's the one."

"I sure hope so."

"Yeah."

"I'll leave you to it. You'll do great boy."

When D/n left Clay called his mother and Sisters, one elder and one younger. He needed the advice on his clothing, but as they lived a bit farther and were in there exam's period he didn't ask them to come see him.

"Please don't scare her away," Jenna, his younger sister also known as 'drista', asked.

"What? Why would you think that."

"Cause we actually like her," his elder sister added as if he was dumb, "your other girlfriends were dumbasses and barbies."

"Thanks," Clay said while rolling his eyes.

"they are messing with your head," said his mom, "but please don't make this flop, we really want her a part of the family officially."

"Yeah, other wise I'll ask her," smirked his elder sister again.

"No! you stay away from my soon to be fiancé!"

And so they ended the call laughing and wishing him luck.

"I am home!" he heard her call. But her voice drifted off a little at the end of her sentence. She must've seen the petals.

He felt his heart hammering in his chest. They had been on many romantic dinners before, they had a few very romantic nights, but now he was going to ask her to marry him... that still felt unreal.

"Darling?" she asked softly while opening the bedroom's door.

"Welcome home, I wanted to have a romantic dinner again." He smiled sheepishly, "Layla is at josh's house. he wanted to have a sleepparty for his birthday."

"Thank you," she grinned walking up to him and kissing his lips softly. Clay almost melted at the feeling of her lips, he hummed against her lips while smiling, feeling her do the same.

"I hope you'll enjoy what I made for you."

"I'm sure I will."

They had spent the whole evening laughing and enjoying the other's company. And as much as Clay had been reassuring Y/n that there weren't any special circumstances she could still see the worry and stress swimming in his eyes.

"Love," she spoke softly. "What's the matter? You're stressing about something I can see it in your eyes."

"I'm fine Y/n," he laughed. She knew him too well.

"You're not, but I'll take your word I suppose."

"Thank you," he smiled and planted another kiss on her forehead. They had started loading the dishwasher together and it wasn't helping his nerves one bit.

He even felt more nervous then before.

"Love? There is indeed something on my mind."

"Please share."

"Well, I made a mistake. A big one at that."

Y/n was nervous. She had been feeling sick lately and Cay forced her to go to the doctors. She was pregnant. And she wasn't sure if she was ready, if Clay was ready.

Stepmom!Selina?

She sees what she's getting into from a mile away, but she welcomes it because Bruce's kids are a part of him, and she loves all of Bruce.

The kids all see it coming too, and while some (Damian) take longer to warm up to her, she's welcomed into the fold with open arms.

Selina's got a heart as big as her partner and while she's not always perfect, you can see how much she cares.

As a former foster child herself, Selina understands Duke's unique experiences and traumas from the foster care system, so whenever he needs to talk, she's the first one he goes to. Sometimes he doesn't want to (or need to) talk, so they'll watch boxing matches or she'll teach him little bits of Mandarin. If the kitchen isn't busy, they'll try their hand at new TikTok recipes, and film themselves either succeeding or debunking the original poster.

Being raised in isolation to be a human weapon meant Cass missed out on a lot of the things daughters typically learn as children/teens. The evening of Cass's first gala, she didn't know the first thing about doing her own hair and makeup. She's braved assassin armies, but her self-made disaster of bobby pins and eyeshadow nearly drives her to tears. Selina swoops in, wipes Cass's face with gentle reassurances, and walks her through step-by-step.

Selina considers it a privilege to have watched Dick grow from the spunky little Robin to the man he is today. Even though he's taller than her, she still ruffled his hair when he does a good job. She also keeps the first ever birthday card he gave her, which includes a pop-up bat signal and scented stickers, and remembers all of his favorite radio stations. Also, when Bruce does something, Dick goes tattling to Selina.

For a while, Carrie mooched off of her siblings' Netflix profiles, but everyone got tired of her messing up their algorithm and she was forced to make her own. She soon realized how much freedom she had because no one could see what she was watching. Selina caught on to the power trip and started researching and watching snippets whenever a new show comes out. That's how she stopped a bunch of preteen girls from watching Squid Game.

Tim often gets overlooked as not just the middle child, but the child who appears put-together and regularly takes on adult responsibilities. Selina, however, remembers that he's still a teenager. She regularly checks in and gradually teaches him that it's okay to let go and act his age. Selina encourages him to call his Young Justice friends outside of missions and take small acts of rebellion against Bruce. When Tim and his boyfriend snuck out to a famous lover's lookout, Selina gave them the car keys and covered for them.

She noticed that Jason really enjoys hanging out with Harley Quinn, bonding over not just Joker trauma but other shared interests like music taste. After Harley turns to the antihero side, Selina discusses with Bruce and they start inviting Aunt Harley and Aunt Ivy to dinner. The first time they do that, Harley is so excited that she baked a three-layer cake just for Jason. Literally, in strawberry frosting, it said, "THIS CAKE IS FOR JASON ONLY." Finding someone that Jason can relate to remains one of Selina's proudest accomplishments.

She's trying her best, but she makes mistakes too. For instance, although Wayne Manor has plenty of kitchen space, Selina does her cooking at Harley and Ivy's because Ivy can offer her fresh plant-based ingredients that suited Damian's needs. When Alfred's not available, she sends Damian to school with healthy, flavorful vegan lunches shaped into Cheese Viking characters. One time, she was tasked with bringing brownies to a PTA meeting. Incidentally, Harley was simultaneously baking a... different kind of brownie for a block party (you can see where this is heading). When an angry superintendent demanded to know who was responsible, Selina wisely kept her mouth shut and thankfully, so did Damian.

Cullen loves concerts, but he's a huge introvert who gets anxiety when he's left alone in a crowd. Selina becomes his concert buddy, and she'll go as all-out as he does. Sometimes that's showing up to a garage band dressed-down in hoodies and sunglasses. Other times it's painting their faces and looking like they just came out of a Hot Topic blowout sale. She even listens to the discography beforehand so she can blend in. Selina learns a lot about Cullen through this, because nothing says more about a person than the music they listen to.

Harper, though looking rough around the edges, turns into a giddy little kid at interactive science museums. During one of these trips, Harper got distracted by the giant Newton's Cradle so she didn't notice a fourth grade field trip sweeping up Selina. When they reunited at the gift shop, a chaperone had given Selina a school t-shirt and she was put in charge of grading ten kids' assignments. Harper laughed so hard that she spewed lemonade on the museum owner. Neither of them will let the other live that day down.

Selina and Barbara openly talk about guy stuff, and Selina is more than happy to offer advice in times of need. They're both pretty liberal talking about that stuff, and one time they did a tier ranking of all the Gotham Rogues based on how effective their gimmick is (Joker was the only S-tier). They then proceeded to get into a debate on whether or not Man-Bat and Killer Croc should qualify for the list, which led to them staring each other down at dinner while the other family members sat around them confused.

Steph's school offered a Mother's Day breakfast. Although Crystal Brown was doing her best and wanted to make it, she was scheduled a double-shift that the breakfast fell right in the middle of. Selina reached out to Crystal and with permission, went in her place. Afraid that Steph would publicly reject her, Selina sat in the parking lot for ten minutes as Bruce amped her up over the phone. Steph, thinking that no one would no up, was ecstatic and said that she couldn't have thought of anyone better. They enjoyed stacking up waffles and making the girls who bully Steph envious.

Long before she and Bruce got married, Selina made it clear that she would not be relegated to the gender-typical role of a homemaker, and Bruce happily concurred because it's 2021. They knew that to give Alfred a break, they'd have to take on some chores themselves. Instead of dividing up a boring old chore chart, they find ways to make cleaning fun and collaborative. They'll dance around the halls in mop slippers, play "guess the stain", and race their roombas. The kids see this and start modeling the behavior in their own ways—Dick swings from high places to dust them, Damian trains his pets to pick up garbage, and Cass and Duke compete to see who can clean the most bathtubs.

Some parts of the Manor are due for redecorating, so Selina and Alfred make a day trip out of interior design sketches, flipping through furniture catalogues, and looking at paint swatches. It sounds boring at first, but the menial tasks meant they had plenty of time for conversation, and she finally understood why everyone respects him. They also made room in the afternoon for a stroll through the park and afternoon tea, where he told her and her only the secret to a perfect scone.

The other Justice League partners welcome her into the group too. Whenever Selina's in Metropolis, she joins Lois and Ma and Pa for Sunday brunch where they share what their kids have been up to. Iris shows her life hacks to cooking large batches of food in a short time. Selina and Dinah discover an online store dedicated to selling vigilante gear and go on a Cyber Monday spree for their whole families. Steve Trevor, Diana's partner, teaches Selina how to fly with the invisible jet so she can surprise Bruce with the batplane.

After overcoming their initial conflicts, Selina and Talia hold a high amount of respect for each other. Talia sees Selina as not just a capable combatant, but a worthy partner to her former beloved and stepmother to her son. Selina, after spending all that time with the kids, understands the motherly love that Talia holds for Damian and makes it abundantly clear that she would never try to replace Talia in the boy's life. Regardless, looking after all those kids is hard, so they are very much open to the idea of co-parenting.

(Selina doesn't know it, but all this makes Bruce fall in love with her all over again.)

Carla Bruni x Trauma Therapy

A PL for the soul bleeding in scarlet sins is therapeutic for trauma. 

Last Sunday, dad and I went biking with Vici, my OG boss; my first born, my therapy dog. Dad didn’t like getting up early because he’s in his Netflix deluge era. Since it’s Mother’s Day, I made sure we steer clear of very likely spaces where moms are too many; because Mother’s Day is a trigger for me; and I can vividly see my dad’s sedated self shaken. He dragged his lazy ass off at around 6 am and I stopped him from his Facebook trash content curation routine. Dad has very specific routine and that means giving him about 2 hours to go about his rituals.  While driving to a sedated spot in the South, he asked me to play Moon River. His best version is that of Frank Sinatra. I told him that it’s Louis Armstrong for me on usual days and nights. Of course, we had another bashing session why Frank is better than Louis. We didn’t budge, as always. HOWEVER, since I watched Something In The Rain as recommended by a number of single lady friends, I gave in. Naging laughable song na for me ‘yung Stand By Your Man kasi ano ‘yun? Ako na naman maga-adjust? LOL. So, bigyan ko na ba chance mga XY and XX na sobrang bata para maiba naman? Basta, ‘wag ko lang i-compare sa mga mas advanced sa career and life na mga beings and doings? Anyhow, I really like Carla Bruni because she has a certain style that swims across the usual.  It’s the first time dad heard Carla’s version of Moon River. Sabi niya grabe naman daw version sabay wipe ng pabagsak ng luha while driving. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. I told him that Carla is a Venn Diagram of Sitti x KZ  Tandingan x Moira. LELS. Sabi niya, tigil-tigil daw ako. ‘Di raw siya client or stakeholder na kailangan kong kumbinsihin. LOL. Pero, he told me to play it again and then told me to stop the song na kasi mapanakit.  Marketing is part of daily grind. LOL. Trauma Marketing slanted on Trama Therapy to be exact. I shared previously that I ate my shit words when I chose to forgive my dad without him saying sorry out loud when he abandoned me when mother dragon expired. Losing a mom, as dad shared is something he didn’t realize he is NOT prepared for. LOL. Sabi ko is tumigil siya kasi ako, mom expired a year before she turned 60. Ina expired at a really curious age of 88. Doble 8 ‘yan. :D Eternity x 2.  Trauma marketing is more than pain point probing. It’s a mix of nostalgia and core memories dressed to appeal to the aspirations and hidden wishes and fetish of your audience of one. Truth be told, apart from the two universal common grounds, taxes and death, marketing is the material and immaterial ground where your audience of one is slithering in as they try their best to manage their each and every mischief without the Maurader’s Map, The Philosopher’s Stone, The Elder Wand and the most coveted Cloak of Invisibility.  Ever wonder why Pixar’s earlier films like Up, Toy Story, Cars, WALL-E and Inside Out make you tear up while the kids who are watching usually have their mouths wide open and their eye glued? It has taught me that the more you want to be in control, the less you are in control.  Faith in the unseen gives you a sense of direction and a firm purpose in life even if you don't have a full grasp of it. That's the irony - by learning to live your life for others, you fulfill and find yourself.  It's a bitter lesson learn - hopefully, in your case not too late in life. Thanks for reminding me I'm getting older, that there's still a few years that can be lived longer and for reminding me that the work is not finish in sharing what little life's riches one has. ! Where as “tel” means ‘nothing’ as in “no thing” “not a thing” “none” so instead of negative, the connotation is nullifying, hence: “nothing is inevitable” (tela’nadas) “no apologies!/you’re not sorry!” (Tel’abelas!)

How confused did they make you and around what aspects of the genre?

Before you ask I genuinely can’t remember but I am pretty sure my first ones were: 

And I think it was that order. Until We Meet Again (still my favorite Thai BL) and Love Sick (the subs were SO HARD to find, do you remember? and so bad until Netflix aired it) and Make it Right and 2 Moons came along sometime after that and also I discovered the HIStory franchise around that time (they were all on YT back in those days). 

Crossing the Line was my first Taiwanese BL. 

Just Friends? was my first KBL (yeah that set up the WRONG expectations). 

Gameboys my first Pinoy. 

Addicted my first from China. 

And I think You Are Ma Boy my first from Vietnam (could be wrong on that one tho). 

Japan I actually watched a bootlegged copy of Takumi (yeah, the first one, shudder) way way WAY back but I didn’t know anything about it or that there would be/were more, so I just returned to reading yaoi and forgot about it. It was probubly Cherry Magic that got me paying attention to JBL again. (I’m so sorry Japan, I didn’t mean to neglect you for so long.)
