I use the Logitech MX Ergo, but with the heavier blue ball from my earlier M570 - the blue ball is comfier for some reason (I am not alone with this opinion)

I like the ergo. it's comfy, but nothing special but i don't need/use a thousand buttons. it's customizable to an extent, i just never needed it. my biggest problem is that they exchanged the replaceable batteries for built in, and a micro usb plug that is impossible to fit, and it is here:

why. just why? i LOVED the m570 to bits, it was my introduction to trackballs, and it allowed my almost-carpal-tunnel syndrome to turn back and heal after overexerting my hand in an IT job. I would still take a 570 instead of an ergo, but it cost a lot now, especially if it's unopened.

to me it is comfy enough, but my hands are smallish, and i guess that's why it's not putting strain on my pinky, but i see how it absolutely could.

I also use a chair with an arm rest that supports most of the weight of my arm level with my desk, so that helps as well i guess.

i love trackballs, they are comfy, portable, i can game from my bed if i want to. i can sit on the sofa, and put it on my lap, and scroll through tumblr. i also learned to game on this, (late bloomer gamer girl in her 30s) i played moba (HotS); and strategy, but that's nothing special; and the new favorite is co-op shooter Deep Rock Galactic and i absolutely adore the faces grown men gamers pull when I show them what I play on :D

After a year's worth of experimentation I've come to the conclusion that current trends in ergonomic keyboard/mouse design may actually be making things worse. Like, yes, vertical mice and those split keyboards with the big bump in the middle and whatnot may offer a more natural resting forearm rotation, but they also ensure that if your typing posture rests any amount of your forearm's weight whatsoever on your hands, 100% of that mechanical stress ends up concentrated on the pinkie side of your wrist.
