you eye them from the corner of your eye, rethinking about what you're going to do for the nth time. recently, you've heard of people cupping their s/o's face trend and you're immediately curious about your coworker's reaction. opera's not your s/o but you don't want to miss out on their response to the trend. and plus they're a cat and your crush, wouldn't their reaction be too cute?

approaching them from behind, you stop with a jolt when they suddenly voices out, "what is it y/n? do you need help with anything?", "not really.. i just- just uh-" shit. you really didn't think this through. but as you rack your brain for a response, opera turns to you with their signature poker face and you have to hold yourself from squealing. while people find opera hard to approach because of their lack of expressions, you find it the more charm of what makes opera opera.

you release a breath you didn't know you were holding as you look at them in the eye, "i just.. wanna do something quick to you if you don't mind?" opera blinks once at you before promptly replying, "sure".

you reach out your hands to cup their face and in an instant, your face feels very warm. it's kind of funny, really. you're the one making the move but you're the one being the most impacted as opera remains with a straight face. but then you catch a glimpse of their cat ears perking up. cute.
