If The Dance was written as POV chapters, who would you want to hear from and why?
Ooo I've done this for the Conquest and Robert's Rebellion but I don't think I've done it for the Dance.
I go back and forth on whether Rhaenyra would get a POV chapter - we don't get the king/patriarchs but we do frequently get ladies of all stripes whether they're the wives of kings and lords like Cat and Cersei, ruling ladies themselves like Arianne and Dany, or the daughters of ruling lords like Sansa, Brienne, Arya. I don't think she would but I'm still throwing her out there. Otherwise there's also-
DRAGON TWINS DRAGON TWINS DRAGON TWINS
Larys Strong - WHAT is cooking in that man's head!
Steffon Darklyn - I know he has some thoughts
Jacaerys Targaryen - THAT'S MY SON. THAT'S MY BOY.
Black Aly - I think she would be our insight into my boy Benjicot and the Lads and I think they're interesting PLUS "warrior goes on cross country road trip from hell with young child" is a tried and true trope George likes to do in this series and I think Black Aly/Benjicot really fits that. PLUS seeing that "road trip from hell" character help cause the hell? Chefs kiss muah.
Tyland Lannister - the torture chapters would be so much fun
Johanna Westerling - fuck Jason Lannister all my homies hate Jason Lannister he doesn't deserve his cool Westerling warrior wife!!
Sabitha Vypren - WARRIOR LADIES LET'S GOOOOO
Qoren Nymeros Martell - once again saying Qoren should have beena main character in HOTD and "fixing the mistakes of got" without addressing Dorne is half assing your narrative
Marston Waters - bastard on the kingsguard let's gooooo
Tess or Lysa Farman - being a salt wife is terrifying, being a salt wife to Dalton Greyjoy is probably particularly awful, I want to get their POVs during the war!
SYLVENNA AND ESSIE. THIS NEEDS NO EXPLANATION.
Helaena - but only the dreamer version of her thanks.
Addam Velaryon - i know his chapter on the isle of faces would fuck it up!!
also..
*pressing my mouth against the microphone and breathing heavily* dragon twinsssssssssssssssssssssss

The Ballad of Cersei Lannister
Woah-oh-oh-oh, oh, oh! Down on your knees before the Queen! Woah-oh-oh-oh, oh, oh! Down on your knees before the Queen!
Cersei Lannis was a popular bitch Hot bod, hot bro, cheer captain, plus she was rich That girl had everything till hiccup and hitch: Ellie Martell lost a leg in a wreck (Amputated!)
The nominations for Prom royalty came Our Cersei’s senior year and Queen was her claim Till gossip stirred the student body would name Ellie Martell Queen of the Prom (Pity vote!)
“Cersei,” her father said, “Life is a prom I know you won’t disappoint me and Mom...”
You taste the gold now, Cersei! You taste the crown! You thirst for blood from the roses in hand You spoil for sash and scepter, music to dance As they crown you queen of High School Land
(Check Cersei, choose Cersei, vote for Cersei Lannis-)
(-ter, Cersei, choose Cersei, vote for Cersei Lannis-)
So obsessed our Cersei near lost her mind To life un-prom-related Cersei was blind She shoved her squad, her clique, her boyfriend behind - Still Ellie had a hold on the lead (Poor, poor Ellie)
Soon Cersei’s sanity was hung by a thread Her BFFs proclaimed her socially dead Till then at last her boyfriend texted and said: “I’m taking Ellie to the senior prom” (Love, love, Ellie)
“Cersei,” her father said, “Why be so calm? There’s just no future for a princess at prom.”
You taste the gold now, Cersei! You taste the crown! You thirst for blood from the roses in hand You spoil for sash and scepter, music to dance As they crown you queen of High School Land
Woah-oh-oh-oh, oh, oh! Down on your knees before the Queen! Woah-oh-oh-oh, oh, oh! Down on your knees before the Queen!
Some girls are rational but Cersei was not She stared in mirrors thinking one single thought: (Ellie) There’s seven reasons this crown’s not good as got (Jeyne, Selyse, Lysa, and Lyanna) And so the night of prom, mercy! (Delena, Melara) Thus went her plot:
P is for Delena drinking poisoned punch R is for Lysa dashed on a rock - crunch! “O” is what Jeyne said when Cersei bludgeoned her brains And M is for Lyanna’s marinated remains
But! But!
Q is for Melara, quiet, drowned in the well And U is for Selyse’s pieces, sent to the Hells But Es are for the easy way in five minutes tops A one-legged girl can bring an N for end by calling the cops (What a bitch)
You got your gold now, Cersei, you got your crown You got your blood on the roses in hand You donned the sash and scepter, doing a dance As you crowned you queen of High School Land!
Woah-oh-oh-oh, oh, oh! (God save the Queen) Down on your knees before the queen (God save the Queen!) Woah-oh-oh-oh, oh, oh! Down on your knees before the (oh! the queen of High School Land!)
They wrapped your wrists in silver, they took your crown They washed the blood from each finger and hand Into a tight straitjacket Small padded cell Screaming “I’m the queen of High School Land!”
At least in your head, you’re queen of High School Land!
Oh pity the dead, you’re queen of High School Land!

La vida del Kraken Rojo está incluida en Sea Demons: A History of the Children of the Drowned God of the Isles del Archimaestro Mancaster.
Dalton Greyjoy, known as the Red Kraken, was Lord of the Iron Islands, Lord Reaper of Pyke, and head of House Greyjoy during the final days of Viserys I Targaryen and then the Dance of the Dragons. He is regarded as a great hero of the ironborn of the Iron Islands.
Dalton was a daring and bloodthirsty man. He was loved by his men but not by his wives, as he tired of women quickly.
The wild young son of the heir to Pyke, Dalton rowed at age five and reaved at ten, sailing with his uncle to plunder the pirate towns of the Basilisk Isles. By fourteen, Dalton had sailed as far as Old Ghis, fought in a dozen actions, and claimed four salt wives.
Dalton claimed a Valyrian steel longsword, which he named Nightfall, off a dead corsair. While fighting in the Stepstones as a sellsail, the fifteen-year-old Dalton avenged his uncle after watching his death. Because Dalton emerged from the fight drenched in blood from a dozen wounds, men began calling him the Red Kraken. Later in the same year, Dalton returned to the Iron Islands to claim the Seastone Chair after hearing of his father's death. Immediately he began to build longships, forge swords, and train fighters, citing that "the storm is coming" as the reason.
The Dance of the Dragons began after the death of King Viserys I Targaryen in 129 AC when Dalton was sixteen. The Red Kraken is said to have laughed after hearing of the outbreak of war.
The greens of Aegon II Targaryen offered Dalton the position of master of ships and the admiralty to replace Ser Tyland Lannister, who had been made master of coin, if Dalton would bring his ships around Westeros to battle Lord Corlys Velaryon, the Sea Snake. Instead of leaping to the offer, Dalton waited to see what the blacks had to offer. On the black council, Prince Daemon Targaryen suggested appealing to Dalton's bloodlust to bring him on the side of Rhaenyra Targaryen. Instead of asking him to sail to Blackwater Bay, Rhaenyra only asked for Dalton to attack her enemies.
The Red Kraken chose black over green, deciding to attack the nearby westerlands, vulnerable with Lord Jason Lannister campaigning in the riverlands. Jason's wife, Lady Johanna, barred the gates of Casterly Rock but was unable to protect the rest of the west. Dalton burned the fleet of House Lannister and sacked Lannisport, carrying off gold, grain, and trade goods. Hundreds of women and girls were taken as salt wives, including the favorite mistress of Jason and their natural daughters. Dalton led the capture of Kayce, and after the fall of Faircastle and Fair Isle he claimed four of Lord Farman's daughters as salt wives, giving the fifth, the "homely one", to his brother Veron. Lord Jason was killed in the Battle of the Red Fork in 130 AC.
For the better part of two years, the Red Kraken ruled the Sunset Sea like the ironborn kings of old, although he did not claim the title King of the Iron Islands. Ser Tyland Lannister and the regency of Aegon III commanded Dalton to cease his raiding, but the Red Kraken ignored them. When Lady Johanna Lannister began building a new fleet on behalf of her son, Lord Loreon Lannister, Dalton's ironmen burned her shipyards and abducted another hundred women.
Dalton never took a rock wife, although he had twenty-two salt wives and boasted of having a hundred. When Dalton heard of the Maiden's Day Cattle Show, he considered sending one of his sisters as a candidate to become King Aegon III Targaryen's second bride. After her westermen defended Kayce and slew Dalton's favorite uncle, Johanna sent a ragtag fleet to discretely invade Fair Isle. The ironmen ambushed these westermen, however, and Dalton sent the heads of Lord Prester, Lord Tarbeck, and Ser Erwin Lannister to Johanna at Casterly Rock.
After Lord Alyn Velaryon defeated the Braavosi fleet in the Stepstones during the Daughters' War, Lord Unwin Peake attempted to rid himself of Alyn Oakenfist by sending him to end Dalton's insurrection. Dalton responded by gathering hundred of longships to Fair Isle and the coasts of the westerlands. The Red Kraken intended to conquer the Shield Islands and Driftmark and sack Oldtown and Sunspear.
While sleeping in Lord Farman's bedchamber at Faircastle in 133 AC, Dalton was killed when one of his salt wives, the girl Tess, cut his throat with his own dagger before throwing herself into the sea. As the Red Kraken had never taken a rock wife, his heirs were two young salt sons at Pyke, Toron and Rodrik. Dalton also had three sisters and several ambitious cousins. Toron was only five years old, and within hours of the Red Kraken's death a bloody struggle for succession broke out among the ironborn. Hundreds of ironmen were killed as Fair Isle rose in rebellion. Faircastle held out for a time, but the castle fell after Gunthor Goodbrother slew Alester Wynch while fighting for another of Dalton's salt wives, Lysa Farman. Having arrived to find Dalton already dead, Alyn Oakenfist left a third of his fleet with the westermen and returned home for the crownlands.
In 134 AC Lord Jason Lannister's widow, Johanna Lannister, avenged Dalton's raids by having her men-at-arms sail to the Iron Islands with the fleet of Ser Leo Costayne, the lord admiral of the Reach. Among the ironborn slain were two of Dalton's sisters and nine of his cousins. His younger son, Rodrik, was taken captive, gelded, and made into Casterly Rock's new fool.
Dalton's sword, Nightfall, eventually passed to House Harlaw. The Red Kraken's life is included in Archmaester Mancaster's Sea Demons: A History of the Children of the Drowned God of the Isles.

IRON ISLANDS APPRECATION WEEK DAY TWO: Thralls and Saltwives
Falia Flowers is the bastard daughter of Lord Humfrey Hewett and the paramour of Euron Greyjoy. She believes that Euron will make her his salt wife and her sons will be before his other bastard sons. Falia states that Daenerys Targaryen will be Euron's rock wife and that Falia will be like a sister to her.
Victarion Greyjoy’s third wife was seduced or raped by Victarion's elder brother, Euron, becoming pregnant with his child. Victarion beat her to death with his fists and carried her body down to the rocks to give her to the crabs.
Lysa Farman was the daughter of Lord Farman of Faircastle. During the Dance of the Dragons, Lord Dalton Greyjoy captured Fair Isle and claimed Lysa and three of her sisters as salt wives, giving another to his brother Veron. By 133 AC two of her sisters and her father had perished. One of Lord Dalton's other salt wives, Tess, slit his throat, making Lysa a salt widow. The smallfolk of Fair Isle and the few knights that remained on the island rose in rebellion and killed the remaining ironmen. Though the garrison at Faircastle was maintained by Alester Wynch and Gunthor Goodbrother, the latter slew the former in a quarrel over Lysa. Lysa's fate after Johanna Lannister's liberation of Fair Isle and invasion of the Iron Islands is unknown.
Tess was a woman of humble birth, taken as one of Dalton Greyjoy’s twenty-two salt wives. Accounts differ as to what is known of her; whether she was thirteen or thirty, pretty or plain, virgin or widow, where Lord Greyjoy found her, how long she had been a salt wife, whether she was mad with jealousy or despised him for his reaving and raping. All that is known for certain is that she cut his throat open from ear to ear with his own dagger after he had his pleasure with her, then threw herself naked and bloody into the sea below in 133 AC.

Probably its just tinfoil, but name "Sansa" relates to "sun" and "Arya" to "Artemis" (moon goddess). I once read that during the long night, only Arya will provide light (play an important role), and Sansa will stay hidden. They didn't say (the post was more about Arya/moon) but then its obvious after the long night, the dawn, Sansa will rise and provide "radiance".
Without anything substantial to back it up, this really really is a feeling I get when reading the books, too!
Sansa will disappear at SOME point. Like she ran shrieking from the crypts when flour-covered Jon played a blood-thirsty spirit. Arya punched the spirit, Sansa fled, but is elsewhere paralleled to the “wise” Jeyne Farman who fled from Maggy the Frog and lives a happy life with many babies. Brienne spends all this time looking for her “sister”, Cat went to find her sister in the Eyrie, where Lysa had fled danger. Tyrion is obsessing about finding his wife Tysha. Comatose Drogo’s eyes followed the sun. Ned spent the tail-end of Robert’ s Rebellion looking to find Lyanna.
Someone will be missing and found at the end, and why not the Sun after the Long Night?
"You cannot come with me," Jon said, cupping the wolf's head in his hands and looking deep into those eyes. "You have to go to Castle Black. Do you understand? Castle Black. Can you find it? The way home? Just follow the ice, east and east, into the sun, and you'll find it. They will know you at Castle Black, and maybe your coming will warn them." (ASOS, Jon III)
East and east into the dawn, into the sun, and you will find home.
Arya is one incarnation of Lightbringer, 100%. You don’t get a magical stabbing, sneaking and warging training montage over 5 books for this to not matter. Her parallels to Dany, her parallels to Bran. The Stark look. Her half of the Girl in Grey wedding puzzle (shared with Sansa via Jeyne and Alys and Mercy), which screams magical death-dealing metaphor.
“This is a wedding, too, she thought.”
(AGOT, Daenerys X, while doing the dragon-waking funeral pyre)
Plus, the whole moonblood = lunacy = bloody, deadly madness theme we have going on. Sansa burns her bedding in a panic (fire and blood), menstruating Cersei and Jaime do it next to Joffrey’s corpse on the altar of the Mother, Dany miscarries while going dragon-mad in the grass desert, thugs accuse Brienne of being “mad with moonblood” and Arya is just about to approach that age.
Between Tyrion and Lord Stannis, everything I eat tastes of ash. And now you’re setting fires as well. What did you hope to accomplish?” Sansa lowered her head. “The blood frightened me.” “The blood is the seal of your womanhood. Lady Catelyn might have prepared you. You’ve had your first flowering, no more.” Sansa had never felt less flowery. “My lady mother told me, but I . . . I thought it would be different.” “Different how?” “I don’t know. Less . . . less messy, and more magical.” Queen Cersei laughed. “Wait until you birth a child, Sansa. A woman’s life is nine parts mess to one part magic, you’ll learn that soon enough . . . and the parts that look like magic often turn out to be messiest of all.”
 (ACOK, Sansa IV)
Messy and magical..?
"Well," Arya said, "my hair's messy and my nails are dirty and my feet are all hard." Robb wouldn't care about that, probably, but her mother would. Lady Catelyn always wanted her to be like Sansa, to sing and dance and sew and mind her courtesies. Just thinking of it made Arya try to comb her hair with her fingers, but it was all tangles and mats, and all she did was tear some out. (ASOS, Arya VII)
Lady Catelyn (Stoneheart) will prepare her, because her encounter with Arya will probably turn Arya away from the dark path of vengeance. Our messy magical moon Arya is going to do epic things. On par with Dany the moon-egg cracking open to birth dragons. Only, you know, good.

Arianne Martell & Quentyn Martell, happier moments.
A Great Unrest
His death was a mishap, almost certainly, and it is written that Prince Maekar always bitterly regretted Baelor’s passing and marked its anniversary every year. (The World of Ice and Fire)
Maekar Targaryen marking the twelfth anniversary of his brother’s death, during the first year of his reign.
The Picture
Laena Velaryon, Laenor Velaryon, and a gift for their parents’ tenth wedding anniversary.
Remember Me (Chapter 3)
Mothers, daughters, and the words said and unsaid.
Chapter 3: Mellario of Norvos & Arianne Martell
Loren of the Rock
He was Loren the First and then Loren the Last, and in between, he fought the Targaryens and lived to tell the tale, a fate he sometimes considered to be worse than death.
The Son
And Addam Velaryon, lately Addam of Hull, sought out the Sea Snake after the battle; what they spoke to each other even Mushroom does not say. (Fire & Blood)
What was said and not said between Addam Velaryon and Corlys Velaryon after the Battle in the Gullet.
Unbetrothed
Lady Elissa had been twice betrothed, once at twelve and once at sixteen, but she had frightened off both boys, as her own father admitted ruefully.  (Fire & Blood)
The two broken betrothals of Lady Elissa.
Or, how Elissa Farman frightened off her betrothed, not once but twice.
The Knighting
“Aegon is to return to my castle at Summerhall. There is a place there for you, if you wish. A knight of my household. You’ll swear your sword to me, and Aegon can squire for you.” […] “I will take your son as squire, Your Grace, but not at Summerhall. Not for a year or two.” (The Hedge Knight)
Duncan the Tall requesting a boon from Maekar Targaryen before swearing his sword as a knight of the prince’s household.
Onion Soup
[Stannis] sat at the high table as a dish of onion soup cooled before him, hardly tasted, staring at the flame of the nearest candle with those hooded eyes, ignoring the talk around him. (A Dance with Dragons)
Stannis, Davos and onion soup.
Nameday Wish
She remembered Ser Willem dimly, a great grey bear of a man, half-blind, roaring and bellowing orders from his sickbed. The servants had lived in terror of him, but he had always been kind to Dany. He called her “Little Princess” and sometimes “My Lady,” and his hands were soft as old leather. (A Game of Thrones)
Daenerys Targaryen, Willem Darry and a nameday wish.
Riverlings
Nonetheless, during all those years of Catelyn’s girlhood, it had been Brynden the Blackfish to whom Lord Hoster’s children had run with their tears and their tales, when Father was too busy and Mother too ill. Catelyn, Lysa, Edmure … and yes, even Petyr Baelish, their father’s ward … he had listened to them all patiently, as he listened now, laughing at their triumphs and sympathizing with their childish misfortunes. (A Game of Thrones)
The first time Catelyn ran to her uncle with her tears and her tales.
and they shall know you by your ghosts
When Alysanne asked if she would return to Greenstone, Rhaena shook her head. “There’s a ghost there as well. A kinder ghost, but no less sad.” (Fire & Blood)
It wasn’t so much that love ended. It was more the fact that it remained mired in the past. The ghost of how easy they used to be with another stalked them every step of the way, on this small island Larissa had made her new home.
The Banker
The Hightowers had not entrusted so much as a groat of their gold to the Lyseni, and thus remained one of the wealthiest houses in all Westeros, second mayhaps only to the Lannisters of Casterly Rock, and Lady Sam wished to learn how to put that gold to better use. Thus was born the Bank of Oldtown, which has made House Hightower richer still. (Fire & Blood)
Samantha Tarly and the founding of the Bank of Oldtown.
The Cold Light of Day
And yet it was to Archmaester Vaegon that the Old King turned now, summoning his last son to King’s Landing. What passed between them remains a matter of dispute. Some say the king offered Vaegon the throne and was refused. Others assert that he only sought his counsel. (Fire & Blood)
What transpired between Archmaester Vaegon and Jaehaerys Targaryen.
Clever Wives
Lord Redwyne was incredulous. “The Tyrells are dolts,” he said. “I am sorry, Your Grace, they are my liege lords, but … the Tyrells are dolts, and Lord Bertrand was a sot as well.” (Fire & Blood)
The Tyrells were dolts, it was sometimes alleged, but they had a knack for marrying clever wives.
Growing
“Egg wanted me to help him rule, but I knew my place was here. He sent me north aboard the Golden Dragon, and insisted that his friend Ser Duncan see me safe to Eastwatch.” (A Feast for Crows)
Maester Aemon and Ser Duncan saying goodbye at Eastwatch (and reminiscing about the first time they met).
The Sun and the Moon
Baela Targaryen, Rhaena Targaryen, Moondancer, Sundancer and Morning.
The Man Who Was Not There (Chapter 2)
Stannis Baratheon, Tywin Lannister, and a tense exchange during the wedding of Robert Baratheon and Cersei Lannister.
Chapter 2: Tywin’s POV
Remember Me (Chapter 2)

Rodrick Pyke Greyjoy
Rodrick is the second son to Lord Dalton Greyjoy with Lady Lysa Farman. As the Cursed Emerald's First Mate, he's often seen besides his brother Toron's side. Rodrick is nineteen years old and known for his love for writing and drawing instead of the expected raiding for the ironborn. He's rumored to exchange multiple romances across the court.

[F&B SPOILERS] It's not outright stated (well, kind of), but Rhaena Targaryen and Elissa Farman were lovers, right? Or am I seeing something that's not there?
It’s pretty strongly implied, for Elissa Farman as well as other female companions of Rhaena. Spoilers (and lots of text excerpts) under the cut:
Not long after, [at age 12-13] Rhaena made her first true friend in the person of her cousin Larissa Velaryon. For a time the two girls were inseparable…until Larissa was suddenly recalled to Driftmark to be wed to the second son of the Evenstar of Tarth. The young are nothing if not resilient, however, and the princess soon found a new companion in the Hand’s daughter, Samantha Stokeworth.
This will be more supported later, but Larissa suddenly being sent away is strongly reminiscent of how Tristifer Botley was immediately sent away from Pyke after he and age 13-ish Asha Greyjoy were caught sexually experimenting. Or how Littlefinger was shipped home to the Fingers, even though he was still sick and healing from his duel with Brandon Stark, right after Lysa told Hoster Tully she was pregnant with Petyr’s child.
The princess had been most loath to be parted from her dragon, Dreamfyre, and her latest favorite, Melony Piper, a red-haired maiden from the riverlands. It was only when her mother, Queen Alyssa, sent for Lady Melony to join them on the progress that Rhaena finally put aside her sullenness to join the celebrations.
“Favorite” is a term not used that often for royal companions in ASOIAF. In TWOIAF and F&B it’s used to describe those singers and others who Queen Rhaenys used to keep in her court, specifically in an accusation that one of them was Aenys’s father, not Aegon. It’s also used to describe Ser Joffrey Lonmouth, the “favorite” of the explicitly gay Laenor Velaryon, who mourned so hard for his companion’s death that he named a son after him. And Laenor “soon found a new favorite” in another knight. Princess Saera Targaryen had both male and female favorites, and was strongly intimated to have had sex with all of them (and them with each other). Furthermore, in AFFC “favorite” is used to describe the Blue Bard, used by Cersei to accuse Margaery Tyrell of adultery. So, please note how “favorite” keeps coming up for Rhaena over and over again, in the way it doesn’t for other royal companions in this book:
Princess Rhaena had many a suitor as well, but unlike her brother she gave encouragement to none of them. She preferred to spend her days with her siblings, her dogs and cats, and her newest favorite, Alayne Royce, daughter to the Lord of Runestone…a plump and homely girl, but so cherished that Rhaena sometimes took her flying on the back of Dreamfyre, just as she did her brother Aegon.
(note dragonriding is often linked to sex – see Dany’s “take me now!” first flight)
Two of Rhaena’s former favorites, Samantha Stokeworth and Alayne Royce, made their way to Fair Isle in some haste to stand with the widowed queen, together with the groom’s high-spirited sister, the Lady Elissa.
Alysanne did not choose these companions for herself; they were selected for her by her mother, Queen Alyssa, and they came and went with some frequency, to ascertain that the princess did not grow too fond of any of them. Her sister Rhaena’s penchant for showering an unseemly amount of affection and attention on a succession of favorites, some of whom were considered less than suitable, had been the source of much whispering at court, and the queen did not want Alysanne to be the subject of similar rumors.
(“Alysanne, we don’t want people to think you like girls like your sister does”)
The very first of Rhaena’s favorites, her cousin Larissa Velaryon, had been married to the second son of the Evenstar of Tarth, it may be recalled. […] That Lady Larissa’s presence drew Rhaena Targaryen to Estermont cannot be doubted, for the island was elsewise singularly lacking in charm, being damp, windswept, and poor. With her daughter lost to her and her dearest friends and favorites in the grave, it should not be surprising that Rhaena sought solace with a companion of her childhood. It would have surprised (and enraged) the queen to know that another former favorite was passing close to her at that very moment.
So, re Elissa – that’s not just implied, that’s pretty much explicit.
…in truth Androw Farman was a curious choice for one with the blood of the dragon in her veins. […] Later, when asked why she had chosen such an unpromising spouse, Rhaena Targaryen replied, “He was kind to me.” […] another possibility, first put forward by Lord Farman’s maester, may cut closer to the bone. “The queen found her true love on Fair Isle,” Maester Smike wrote to the Citadel, “not with Androw, but with his sister, Lady Elissa.”
In Rhaena Targaryen, however, she found a like-minded companion, and in her the queen found a new confidant. Together with Alayne Royce and Samantha Stokeworth, two of Rhaena’s oldest friends, they became nigh inseparable, a court within the court that Ser Franklyn Farman, Lord Marq’s elder son, dubbed “the Four-Headed Beast.” Androw Farman, Rhaena’s new husband, was admitted to their circle from time to time, but never so often as to be taken for a fifth head. Most tellingly, Queen Rhaena never took him flying with her on the back of her dragon, Dreamfyre, an adventure she shared frequently with the ladies Elissa, Alayne, and Sam (in fairness, it is more than possible that the queen invited Androw to share the sky with her only to have him decline, for he was not of an adventurous disposition).
(again with the dragonriding and sex connection, and note how Rhaena’s nominal husband is excluded.)
Let’s see, what other evidence… Rhaena’s companions have little interest in children (stereotypical, but GRRM’s an old man sometimes)… Rhaena’s great reluctance to let Elissa leave her… her rage when Elissa did run off, and furthermore betrayed her by stealing three dragon eggs… and of course the hugest thing – Androw’s serial-killer poisoning of his wife’s companions.
His wife was still a queen, but no one mistook Androw for a king, or even a lord consort. Though he sat at Queen Rhaena’s side during meals, he did not share her bed. That honor went to her friends and favorites. His own bedchamber was in an altogether different tower from hers. The gossips at court said the queen told him that it was better that they slept apart, so he need not be disturbed if he should find some pretty maid to warm his bed. There is no indication that he ever did.
(note how “friends” and “favorites” are different things. Different ways of sharing her bed too, most likely.)
By the time Rhaena returned from her mother’s deathbed, he was well past any desire to comfort her. Sullen and cold, he sat silent at meals and avoided the queen’s company elsewise. If Rhaena Targaryen was troubled by his sulks, she gave little sign of it. She found consolation in her ladies instead, in old friends like Samantha Stokeworth and Alayne Royce, and newer companions like her cousin Lianna Velaryon, Lord Staunton’s pretty daughter Cassella, and young Septa Maryam.
All these women die, poisoned by that brutal killer, the Tears of Lys… because Androw was simply jealous that his wife spent more time with her friends than him? No:
[Lianna Velaryon] died in Rhaena Targaryen’s arms, convulsing as the queen wept bitter tears.“You weep for her,” Androw Farman said when he saw the tears on his wife’s face, “but would you weep for me?” His words woke a fury in the queen. Lashing him across the face, Rhaena commanded him to leave her, declaring that she wanted to be alone. “You shall be,” Androw said. “She was the last of them.”
(holy shit, GRRM, if that is not the most sinister line…)
“A cupbearer, a serving man, that’s how they saw me. Androw the sweet. Androw the jape. What could I do, but fall off the dragon? Well, I could have done a lot of things. I could have been a lord. I could have made laws and been wise and given you counsel. I could have killed your enemies, as easily as I killed your friends. I could have given you children.”
These women were Rhaena’s intimates and lovers, not Androw, never him. They slept in her bed, while she pushed away her nominal husband – who she married not out of love, but because he’d been “kind” to her, or because it was arranged that he’d beard for her and his sister who she truly loved – in hopes he’d find his own lover. But he only wanted her, and to all the other women on the island he was only a laughingstock. If this frustration, turned to murder, isn’t straight out of tragic lesbian pulp novels, transposed to Westeros, I don’t know what is. Well, at least unlike the het-enforced standards of that genre, Rhaena found some comfort with her first favorite Larissa, after everything… though even that was tainted with what happened to her daughter Aerea, alas. Sigh, GRRM…

Lord Dalton Greyjoy ‧₊˚.
Tumblr media
Welcome, Lord Dalton Greyjoy! We’re delighted to see they have arrived safely on their journey to King’s Landing.
Around the court the forty years old has been praised as charismatic, a great strategist and patient but some have whispered they are also cruel, dishonest and ambitious.
Upon their arrival it is clear that they are dissatisfied about the upcoming coronation of Westeros' first ruling queen, and while the eyes of our court may be fixed on our new Queen, House Targaryen, and the future of Westeros, their true allegiance will always be to himself, his sisters, wives and children and the Iron Islands.
Positive traits:
• Charismatic, no man understands how he got so many people to follow him. He's simply charming.
• Great strategist, you don't organize such massive raids without a mastermind behind it. He's astute and practical.
• Patience, he can wait for years before commiting such violent raids and attacks.
Negative traits:
• Cruel, he enjoys to make men suffer. His best friend is a knife in his enemies' heart.
• A liar, some think the only ones who have heard him say something truthful are his wives and children.
• Ambitious, Dalton misses the days when the Greyjoys were Kings and bow to no-one. Some whisper he's planning to separate from the kingdoms so the Iron Islands are independent again.
Headcanons:
• He grew up with three sisters, who beat the shit out of him until he respected women properly.
• Capitan for the "Raven". His crew is conformed of his twenty two wives, he gave them axes and swords so his wives could raid with him. Now he always says mainlanders are so weak that even his wives can kill them.
• When he goes around the world, he leaves his sisters in charge: Amarys, Esgred and Gysella; his younger sisters of thirty seven, thirty four and thirty one years old. Captains of the "Widow", "Lonely Maiden" and "Sorrow".
• His wives come from all around the worl:
Tess of Oldtown, rumored to be daughter of a whore; red hair, green eyes and white skin. Thirty eight.
Lysa Farman, Eldest daughter of Lord Farman, skip over for her brother; short brown hair and eyes with white skin. Thirty three years old.
~ Rodrick (son of Lysa Farman, nineteen years old). More interested in the arts and books than killing (for Dalton's great disappoinment).
Johanne Lannister of Lannisport, fourth daughter of Lord Lannister (of Lannisport); blonde, green eyes and white skin. Thirty nine years old. Good at managing gold.
~ Toron (son of Johanne Lannister, twenty one years old) The oldest inherited his mother's green eyes and his father's dark hair. Capitan of his own ship: "The Cursed Emerald".
Genna Lannister of Lannisport, older sister of Johanne and third daughter of Lord Lannister (of Lannisport); blonde, green eyes and white skin. Forty one years old.
Obella Sand, bastard daughter of Lord Dayne; brown skin, black hair and purple eyes. Forty four years old.
Alla Tyrell, niece to Lord Tyrell; curly brown hair and eyes, white skin with freckles. Enjoys sewing and reading. Thirty six years old.
~ Cerelle (daughter of Alla Tyrell, fourteen years old) Her quiet nature should not be considered shyness, she is as deadly as her siblings. Follows the sevens instead of the drowned god.
Violet Tyrell, younger sister of Alla; curly brown hair and eyes, white skin with freckles. Thirty four. She enjoys riding and dancing, often in the shop for the opportunity to explore the world. Politically cunning.
Barba Snow, bastard daughter of Lord Karstark; Thick black long hair, gray eyes and pale skin. Thirty nine years old. Enjoys hunting and is really good at archery.
Arianne Connington, brown hair and eyes, brown skin with freckles. Thirty nine years old.
Elynna Westerling, brown hair, blue eyes and white skin. Thirty eight years old.
~ Penny (daughter of Elynna Westerling, one and ten years old)
Cassella (who used to be a silent sister), one eye purple and one green eye with black hair and white skin. Thirty two years old. Still tries to keep her vows and helps to take care of the corpses.
Ella Mormont, dark brown hair, white skin and brown eyes. Thirty seven years old.
Shierra Harroway, sister of Lord Harlow; brown hair, gray eyes and brown skin.Thirty seven years old.

Maerie of Braavos, trained to be a courtesan; black skin, red eyes and black hair. Often wears veils that cover her face and neck. Forty years old. Capitan of her own ship "The Ruby".
Holly Tarbeck, sister of Lord Stonehouse; black skin and hair with blue eyes. Thirty six years old.
Jocelyn Wythers, second daughter of Lord Weaver; curly brown hair and green eyes with brown skin. Forty two years old.
~ Megette and Tyanna (twin daughters of Jocelyn Wythers, nineteen years). Dalton trained both of them in archery; Megette kills with knifes and Tyanna with axes.

• Most brides left angry fathers while escaping arrange marriages. Some grooms have been killed.
• All arsons committed in the westernlands are done by him. In his words: "If they wanted their castles to be safe, they should be better at protecting them".
Rumors:
• Some people say Dalton has laid in bed with both men a women. No man has survived long enough to tell.
• All his wives have different skills, some say he seems such an intelligent man because his wives do all the work for him.
