Hey bestie, I have an idea for a Dean Smut. I'm thinking friends with benefits turned into couple/lovers troupe. With lyrics from the song Again by Noah Cyrus. Maybe semi rough sex? Whatever you come up with is fine. Im obsessed with this song right now and think it would be perfect for that troupe. Also can they say "I love you" at some point during or after the sex? Please and thank you! <3
Heyy!!! Here you go Bestie, and you know I'll always do your requests! I hope you like it! Love you girl!
~~~
Again
(Dean x Reader)
Warnings/ Promises: Smut, unprotected sex/ creampie (wrap it before you tap it y’all), semi-rough sex, friends with benefits, I think that's it but lmk if I missed something.
Song by Noah Cyrus ft. XXXTentacion
(“All lyrics will be marked as so”)
~~~
You and Dean had been sleeping together for over 9 months now. Whenever one of you needed the other you would just call. And right now, you were going to explode if you weren't fucked senseless within the next few minutes.
Luckily, you didn't live far from their bunker.
You picked up your phone and scrolled through your contacts until you found Dean's name then hit the call button.
He picked up on the first ring.
"*What is it, Y/n hon?*" His voice was husky on the other end, as he already knew the answer.
"I'm coming over." You said into the phone.
"*I'll be in my room waiting.*" And with that, he hung up.
(“You just made the worst mistake And you'll regret it, darling 'Cause once you give and then you take You'll only end up wanting”)
In a matter of minutes, you're at the bunker. You pull out your key and turn it in the lock, letting yourself in.
"*I'm here. See you in a sec.*" You send a quick text to Dean as you walk down the stairs into the bunker.
Sam looks up from his laptop as you pass by him in the library and gives you a small wave, in which you return before scurrying off to Dean's room.
You knock twice to let him know you're there and open the door.
As expected, he's already laying on the bed, waiting for you in nothing but his robe.
"Hey, sexy~" You flirt as you close the door and walk over to the bed, sitting beside him.
He smirks and grabs around your waist, pulling you on top of him, causing you to yelp in surprise.
"Hi~" He smiles and gives you a quick kiss as his hands move to your waist. He hooks his thumbs into your waistline, pulling down both your sweatpants and underwear and revealing your ass.
You kick them off the rest of the way and grab at the tie on his robe, undoing the knot and opening it up. You can't help but moan a little at the fact that he's already hard and leaking precum.
He tugs at your shirt and you assist him in pulling it over your head, then you let him reach behind you and unclasp your bra, throwing both garments to the floor.
"Fuck, you're so hot." He gawks, as if he hadn't seen you like this a thousand times.
"You say that every time." You point out, but you still can't help but smile at the compliment.
"Well, it's true. And besides, it's practically routine to say it at this point~" He runs his hands along your naked figure as he speaks.
You just roll your eyes and lean down to kiss him. He groans into it and kisses you back roughly, his left hand finding your hair and tangling into it as his right hand continues to roam your body.
(“(Ooh-ooh-ooh) was everything hard enough? (Ooh-ooh-ooh) 'cause one day you'll wake up And then you'll say”)
You continue to make out, tongues twisting and lips moving in sync, as you reach your hand down between your bodies and wrap your fingers around Dean's cock.
"Son of a-" Dean grumbles in response to the stimulation. "-bitch~" The last word coming out as more of a moan as you squeeze your hand around him.
You chuckle and start moving your hand up and down over his shaft, still squeezing lightly, earning little moans and grunts from him as you do so.
Then, you raise your hips and line him up with your soaked, wanting core before lowering back down onto him with a sigh.
"Mmn, shit, you're tight as hell." He remarks, groaning at the feeling.
"Yeah, I know, it's been too long." You moan back, rocking your hips slowly, letting him stretch you out.
"You can say that again." He rasps, his eyes rolled back in gratification. Him and Sam had been on back-to-back hunts for the past three and a half weeks and this was the first break they've gotten, aka the first chance he's had to fuck you in almost a month, so you were both overdue for this, especially considering you normally fuck 3-4 times a week or more.
Once you'd adjusted to the stretch of his cock, you sped up the pace, bumping your hips faster until you reached a good speed and rhythm.
You both yelled out in moans and screams of pleasure, sending echos through the bunker. Luckily for Sam, he was used to this from the two of you by now and it didn't really bother him.
You kept the up the fast pace, Dean bucking his hips up to meet with yours with each thrust, until you were both howling out as you got closer to finishing.
"Mm- fuh- fu- mmnph- fuck- I'm so- mmn- close..." You sputtered out between yelps and howls.
With that, Dean moved out of you and flipped the both of you, putting him on top so that he could fuck harder into you.
"SHIT-" You gasped out as he pushed into you harder, his hips crashing against yours with the slap of skin on skin with each shove into you.
It wasn't long before you were gripping at the sheets for dear life as Dean continued to roughly slam his cock in and out of you until you couldn't take anymore.
"DEANNN!!!" You screamed through your orgasm, cumming so hard you blacked out for a moment.
You return to consciousness right as Dean yells out and sprays into you, filling you with his hot cum. Then he collapses on the bed, both of you panting like dogs as you come down from euphoria.
Once he had calmed down some, Dean turned to look at you, his face saying that he has something to tell you, but he doesn't know if he should.
Finally, he sighed and just said it.
"Y/n... I want more from this..."
(“"I wanna be your lover I don't wanna be your friend" You don't know what you got 'til it's gone, my dear So tell me that you love me again (tell me that you love me again)”)
"What do you mean?" You ask, confused.
"What I mean is..."
There's a long pause before he finally speaks again.
"I love you Y/n..."
Your eyes grow wide in surprise.
"You love me?..." You say after a moment, still trying to process it.
He gives a gentle nod.
(“I-I wanna be your lover Baby, I'll hold my breath You don't know what you got 'til it's gone, my dear So tell me that you love me again (tell me that you love me)”)
"I... I love you too..." You reply with a bit of hesitation after taking a minute to think about what he said.
(“Again, babe, again Again, babe, again You don't know what you got 'til it's gone, my dear So tell me that you love me again”)
"But?..." He asked, knowing there was going to be one by the way you responded.
"But I don't... I'm not sure if I want to be a couple or whatever or not..." You started.
(“Ooh-ooh-ooh, she's screaming in my head Ooh-ooh-ooh, I left her where I slept Somewhere, I can't escape I'm running from myself Somewhere in between in love and broken, I'm in hell”)
"I just... I don't want to make things awkward between us or anything..." You continued. "I mean, we fit with each other perfectly..."
"In more ways than one." He interjected.
"But... I guess I'm just... scared that things might not still be the same if we were together." You let out a sigh.
(“Saying, "I wanna be your lover I don't wanna be your friend" You don't know what you got 'til it's gone, my dear So tell me that you love me again (tell me that you love me again)”)
Dean pulled you up against him, cuddling into you. "Don't worry. I'm sure things won't be any different. I'm sure we'll still be just as inseparable as we already are." He reassured you.
"Are you sure?" You still question.
"Yeah. I am. If it makes you feel any better, we could just try it out at first and if it doesn't work, we could always just go back to being friends with benefits." He suggested, his voice calm and sweet.
(“I-I wanna be your lover You're leaving when the clock hits ten You don't know what you got 'til it's gone, my dear So tell me that you love me again (tell me that you love me)”)
"Yeah... That sounds good." You finally decide. You curl up against him and nuzzle your face into his chest. "Good." He sighed in relief.
(“Again, babe, again Again, babe, again You don't know what you got 'til it's gone, my dear So tell me that you love me again (tell me that you love me)”)
"I love you, Dean." You say contently, feeling safe in the comfort of his arms.
"I love you too, Y/n." He answered happily. "I love you so much."
(“Again, babe, again Again, babe, again You don't know what you got 'til it's gone, my dear So tell me that you love me again (tell me that you love me again)”)
He gave you a gentle kiss on the head and pulled you in closer. You moved closer as well and let his embrace take away all your problems and worries, falling asleep in his arms.

Interview Music Tag Game
RULES: Put your playlist on shuffle. For each of the 10 interview questions, select a lyric from the random song that comes up. (Skip if there aren't any lyrics and make sure to drop the name of the song in your interview answer!) <3
ty @wanderingdonut for the tag, this was very fun and made me weirdly emotional, and yes I did absolutely cheat and skip songs that didn’t fit.
1. First off, how would you describe yourself in one sentence?
I've done a lot of things wrong, loving you being one
July, Noah Cyrus
2. What kind of [aquarius] are you?
And now I'm digging a hole, I'm not sure of the purpose, I guess I'm just scared of living life at the surface
We Fell in Love at the End of the World, George Ezra
3. You're visiting your favorite spot, what are you thinking about?
What's in your head? Is it something I said? Is it something I said wrong?
Ashes, Morningsiders (lmao this one called me out HARD)
4. If your life was a movie, what do you think the first review would say about it?
And you were only afraid from fear of being alone, and I'm sure, that feeling, the ache is better than nothing at all
Part of Me, Noah Kahan
5. Say you get a book deal, what are you titling your memoir?
And wear your silver lining
Silver Lining, Mt. Joy
6. What would you say about your best friends?
You take the best of all I know, all I grow
What Was Mine, Sarah Kinsley
7. Think back to when you had everything all figured out in high school, what was your life motto as a teenager?
Hey mom, I know I'm cryin', but you don't have to worry 'bout me
Easy, Daisy the Great (ffs this was... simply too accurate)
8. Describe your aesthetic now:
Bag on my side 'cause I'm out 'til dawn, keeping it light like silk chiffon
Silk Chiffon, MUNA/Phoebe Bridgers
9. What's a lyric that they'll quote in your eulogy?
So I'll be the loser in this game, I'll be the bad guy in the play
The Only Heartbreaker - Mitski
10. And for our final question, say we believe in soulmates, what do you think their first impression of meeting you will be?
But I wanna light fires, I wanna explode, I wanna be everything you want to know
Manta Rays, chloe moriondo (dude if someone felt this way about me I would simply perish)

for miss faye my wife: training, retro, quitting, fans, voice, lyrics, and wild(er) card!!!
heheh ily maia
training - How did they learn to sing? Have they had any formal training? How do they continue to maintain and develop their singing voice?
faye began vocal training & singing lessons when she was pretty young - a guilt gift to keep her busy during her parent’s rough patch and eventual divorce. music in general has always been an important part of her relationship with her dad. when she was young they would get red solo cups and put them to their mouths and pretend they were microphones and sing loudly in the kitchen. she carries him with her every time she practices, performs etc… bitter and fond.
retro - What was the first CD they ever bought with their own money? Do they still have it? Do they still like it?
natasha bedingfield! she still has it and she still loves it. pocketful of sunshine was her first ever favorite song.
quitting - Have they ever come close to quitting their professional music career? When? What brings them back?
probably before every gig if we’re being honest. but also yes, probably after her fight with seven, though only strongly briefly, now it’s a faint echo of a thought to never really be acknowledged or acted upon that sticks with her through everything. what brings her back is the strong relationship she has with the band and the euphoria that making music brings. & to be honest she’s never been great at speaking about her feelings, somehow singing them in an abstract way thru her music is easier
fans - How is their relationship with their fans? Do they go out of their way to interact?
LOL um. faye gets very sheepish, she keeps it as cordial as possible but affection from fans tends to freak her out. she doesn’t hold herself in such high esteem? so why should others?
voice - What does their singing voice sound like? Do you have voiceclaims(s) for them?
so far my best vc for them is a mix between lorde & daughter but also much rougher like noah cyrus.
lyrics - What are some songs you associate with your character? Any specific lyrics that really scream your character?
hmm. right now im heavily associating the song i know the end by peepee bridgers with her. as well as black flies by ben howard. oh and definitely youth by daughter.
wild(er) - Tell us something about your MC! Feel free to really just roll us over with an emotional steamroller and crush the souls out of our bodies, if you’d like.
faye has an extreme problem with vices. the consumable kind.

Alastember free for all week
My thomastair playlist
(I apologize for making almost half of this playlist taylor swift)
and the lyrics of each song that remind me of their story so far + speculation/my hopes for the future (and the explanation for the spanish songs):
enchanted - taylor swift
(them meeting again in Paris after the Academy)
Same old tired, lonely place Walls of insincerity Shifting eyes and vacancy Vanished when I saw your face All I can say is it was enchanting to meet you
simplemente pasan - morat & cami
(love song about two people always seeing each other at the same bar until they finally gather the courage to invite each other to dance) (I explained it terribly I know)
Ay, qué suerte la mía Que hoy te volví a encontrar en este lugar Porque cuando las cosas buenas tienen que pasar Simplemente pasan
translation (I tried my best guys okay): Oh, what luck I have That I found you again in this place Because when good things have to happen They just happen
the louvre - lorde
(I'll admit this one's here mostly for the vibes and the title)
A rush at the beginning I get caught up, just for a minute But lover, you're the one to blame
gorgeous - taylor swift
(this lyrics specifically are literally them from Alastair's perspective during Paris)
And I got a boyfriend, he's older than us He's in the club doin' I don't know what You're so cool, it makes me hate you so much (I hate you so much)
paris - the chainsmokers
(Yup, a repeated song from my Alastair playlist)
If we go down then we go down together We'll get away with everything Let's show them we are better
un beso en madrid - tini & alejandro sanz
(yeah, this one's here mostly because it mentions Madrid)
(the song is basically about still missing this person you had a fling with and the last night they saw each other, also the last night they kissed, was in Madrid) (so basically switch Madrid for Paris and that's their last day in Paris, without the kissing)
Recuerdo que contigo fue tan diferente Tan natural
translation (my best attempt at accurately translating it): I remember that it was so different with you so natural
does he know? - one direction
(yes, this is here only for the secret tattoo line)
Yeah, he knows everything there is to know Your secret tattoo, the way you change moods The songs that you sing when you're all alone Your favourite band, the way that you dance
cowboy like me - taylor swift
(“I suppose I’m asking if you’re like me.”)
Takes one to know one You're a cowboy like me
over again - one direction
(sanctuary scene, Thomas asking Alastair what if Paris was the first time they had met -> forget the Academy and let's start again)
And I will give you all my heart So we can start it all over again
the last time - taylor swift & gary lightbody
(Alastair ending things between them at the end of ChoI)
This is the last time, I won't hurt you anymore
easy - demi lovato & noah cyrus
(this is literally Alastair walking away from Thomas at the end of ChoI)
And the hardest part of leavin' is to hold the heavy breathing back From showing you how hard it is for me To make it look so easy
death by a thousand cuts - taylor swift
(again, Alastair ending things at the end of ChoI)
Saying goodbye is death by a thousand cuts
sorry - halsey
So I'm sorry to my unknown lover Sorry that I can't believe That anybody ever really Starts to fall in love with me
vas a quedarte - aitana
(the song is about the singer regretting breaking up with the other person because she was scared to admit she was in love, and swearing that she will do anything to to get back together and do everything right if they get back together)
(but the lyrics I'm going to write, I see them more from Thomas' pov saying that he's not going to let Alastair walk away again *cof* like in Paris and ChoI *cof*)
Vas a quedarte Porque te juro que esta vez voy a cuidarte A nuestra historia le hace falta una segunda parte
translation: You are going to stay Because I swear that this time I'm going to take care of you Our story is missing a second chance
afterglow - taylor swift
Hey, it's all me, in my head I'm the one who burned us down But it's not what I meant I'm sorry that I hurt you I don't wanna do, I don't wanna do this to you I don't wanna lose, I don't wanna lose this with you
the archer - taylor swift
Help me hold on to you I've been the archer, I've been the prey Screaming, who could ever leave me, darling But who could stay?
defenceless - louis tomlinson
this is from Thomas' pov:
Not sure how to say this right Got so much to lose Never been so defenceless (x2) You just keep on buildin' up your fences
and this is from Alastair's pov:
I hope that I'm not asking too much Just wanna be loved by you (Don't you be so defensive) And I'm too tired to be tough Just wanna be loved by you
begin again - taylor swift
I've been spending the last eight months Thinkin' all love ever does is break and burn and end But on a Wednesday, in a café, I watched it begin again
long story short - taylor swift
Long story short, it was the wrong guy Now I'm all about you
lucky strike - troye sivan
'Cause you're safe like spring time Short days, long nights, boy Tell me all the ways to love you
cornelia street - taylor swift
Barefoot in the kitchen Sacred new beginnings That became my religion, listen I hope I never lose you
home - one direction
And it's alright Calling out for somebody to hold tonight When you're lost, I'll find a way and I'll be your light You'll never feel like you're alone I'll make this feel like home
london boy - taylor swift
You know I love a London boy Boy, I fancy you
a dónde vamos - morat
(again, this is here because it mentions Madrid) (but also manifesting thomastair honeymoon traveling around the world, starting in Madrid)
(the song is basically about meeting someone in Madrid during the summer and falling in love with them at first sight)
No hay trago que sepa tan bien Como tus labios en Madrid Y no sé, no sé, no sé Cómo pude convencerte Y no sé, no sé, no sé Fue el destino o fue la suerte
translation: There's not a shot that tastes as good As your lips in Madrid And I don't know (x3) How I managed to convince you And I don't know (x3) If it was destiny or luck

LZZY HALE: HALESTORM's New Album 'Is Absolutely A Banger'
HALESTORM frontwoman Lzzy Hale talked to the 105.7 The Point radio station about the progress of the recording sessions for the band's follow-up to 2018's "Vicious" album. She said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "We have it done. We literally finished the album three days before we left for tour. There were two new songs that kind of came together right at the end when we thought everything was wrapped. And we were, like, 'Now we have to do this, but we've gotta go.' It's just so beautiful."
Regarding the musical direction of the new HALESTORM material, Lzzy said: "This album is absolutely a banger. It's on eleven. We have really just kind of exceeded all of the energy that has come before on these albums, both technically, music-wise, vocally, drum, lyric-wise. I think because of the roller-coaster ride when we were making this record, and just through the pandemic and all the different phases of that, we just kind of looked at each other, like, if the future is unknown and we don't know whether we're actually going to be out and playing these things, everything has to be, like I said, at eleven. It's HALESTORM elevated.
"It was kind of funny. My bass player, Josh [Smith], he was showing some new songs to his parents. And his dad is, like, 'Wow. You really just grabbed on to your sound.' And I'm, like, 'We have a sound?' [Laughs] I didn't really think about it that way before. But, yeah, it's very us."
According to Lzzy, she and her bandmates recorded the new HALESTORM album in a different way. "This is the first time that we've ever had dual producers," she explained. "We went back with Nick Raskulinecz [who helmed 'Vicious']. And then I ended up doing my vocals with Scott Stevens from THE EXIES. He's like a brother from another mother with me. We've written together before, and we've known each other for probably just shy of a decade now. He and I, we produced and did all the vocals for [HALESTORM's recently released single] 'Back From The Dead' with each other, because I went out to L.A. And then we ended up sending it to Nick, and Nick's, like, 'This is just absolutely amazing. We have to do every song this way.' So we kind of did it differently. We ended up with the bare bones of a demo. I ended up finishing all of my vocals — like dunzo — before we ended up building the track musically. So it's kind of like building a pyramid upside down. But it ended up really just having this different energy, because what we were able to do with the lyrics and melody and all the vocals being done would really accentuary all of that — matching the theme to whatever I was singing about, but also just kind of really supporting the vocals musically when we went in to do the guitars and drums and bass. It's so crazy — it definitely has this very forward, very aggressive nature to it because of the way that we did that."
Asked when fans can expect to get new HALESTORM album, Lzzy said: "We don't have a date yet. We're literally talking about that this week, 'cause there are still some things that need to be mixed and mastered. But we'll get a date soon. But before we even release it, we're definitely gonna plan on, sooner than that, releasing another song. We're just trying to figure out which one, because they're all great."
"Back From The Dead" was released in Augist. The official music video for the track, directed by Dustin Haney (Noah Cyrus, Luke Combs) and produced by Revolution Pictures, features Lzzy and the rest of the band in a morgue and cemetery somewhere between life and death.

Ello 🐢 2, 12 & 20~
Ello!
2. What are your five top songs and why?
Oooo okay I’d have to say:
fuck, I’m lonely - lauv and anne marie (a bop that never gets old for me)
young and sad - noah cyrus (a sweet yet bitter song; I love it)
soda - nothing but thieves (again another kinda sad song but it’s really beautiful)
TRUE - syml (loved it from the moment I heard it, then listened to the lyrics and it made it a lot sadder. But it’s still a gorgeous song)
right here - chase atlantic (lyrics I can relate to, plus I can sing it loudly lol)
12. What’s your favourite season and why?
It’s gotta be winter for me just because of Christmas. Every year I get emotional from how much I love all the lights and the food and just everything lol. My absolute favourite is snow, as it reminds me of when me and my family used to go for a Christmas Eve walk every year, and we used to live in the butt end of nowhere so it was always amazing with all the trees. I wish I couldn’t appreciated it more at the time :( But my second favourite is autumn, the colours are amazing!
20. If you got £500,000, what would you buy?
Oooof imma get a house man, then I don’t have to worry about it lol. Also maybe driving lessons then a car! And so many cats and dogs
Ty for asking 🥺💞💓

Hi everyone! I’ve been really really bored during quarantine and since this whole coronavirus thing has been really hard on a lot of people, I thought maybe you could use a distraction, something fun to take your mind off of everything. Here are the rules for my Song-Themed Writing Challenge:
Pick any song in the list below and write a fic inspired by its lyrics!
You can choose to name your character or make it reader insert
You can pick who the fic talks about (has to be: Dylan O’Brien or any of his characters, or Tom Holland or Peter Parker/Spiderman).

Keep in mind that the songs each belong to one of three genres.
Each genre (acoustic, pop, rock) has a special guideline you have to follow while writing your fic (I added this for extra challenge but the guidelines shouldn’t be too difficult to implement in your fic).
Once you have chosen the song you will use for your fic, please tell me the name of the song or the letter and number of the song, and who you’ve chosen to write about -> in my asks so I can cross it off the list!
Wether you choose to follow the challenge or don’t (which is completely up to you obviously!), please reblog this post and signal boost so more people hear about it (thank you!!)

2020 has been quite the year for music!
I have a whole 27 favourite albums from this year and there’s still 10 more that didn’t make it into the list. Above are my top 9 (in no particular order):
Confetti by Little Mix
I was just obsessed with every single they dropped for this album. However when the full album came out I was a little underwhelmed with the second half at first. I think it’s because I don’t like Nothing But My Feelings & it put me off. Now I LOVE the rest of the songs! Overall it has an 80s feel but is still so fresh. The vocals and harmonies are stunning ✨ 9.5/10
Walls by Louis Tomlinson
Louis’ long awaited debut album 💖 & its beautiful! There’s not one song that I don’t like but some aren’t very memorable to me. His vocals are angelic as always. He definitely met my expectations with it. He has a very distinct style which I’m glad he’s showcasing. The lyrics are great, it’s sweet, romantic and heartfelt. Very British! I love to see it. 9.5/10
Heartbreak Weather by Niall Horan
They’re are some songs that I really really love on this album. I prefer this album to his debut. I like every song but some sound quite similar to each other. It’s quite chilled pop, but has some bangers and has a classic NH ballad thrown in. He’s showing off brilliant vocals and very nice lyrical talent! Needs more hype tbh. 9.5/10
Brightest Blue by Ellie Goulding
Such a unique album that I didn’t expect from Ellie! I haven’t really enjoyed her music since 2010 so hearing this album 10 years later blew me away. Her voice is amazing, I love the style she’s gone for. There are some songs I don’t love but the ones I do make up for it. She’s just killing it 🔥 9.3/10
The End of Everything by Noah Cyrus
Noah has really impressed my with this album. The songs are so moving to me, I love her voice and she just writes so honestly. They just mean a lot to me and will be some of my favourite songs of all time. I would have maybe liked some more though. 9.7/10
The Anxiety by The Anxiety (WILLOW & Tyler Cole)
Already in love with WILLOW but this album is just incredible! It says SO MUCH and is really impactful especially for this year. There isn’t a song I don’t like, but you do have to be in a certain mood for some of them. They are very different to anything I’ve heard before, it’s genius. 9.5/10
Jaguar by Victoria Monét
This album needs more recognition! It’s so smooth, it’s sexy, it’s cool. I love it!!! I like every song on it. I don’t know what else to add. 9.3/10
Folklore by Taylor Swift
Okay... so it’s perfect. I’m not exaggerating, it may be my favourite album of all time so far. I can’t even put into words why I love it so much. I could talk about it forever. It’s magical and it’s painful at the same time. Every song is exquisite! It has my favourite song ever on it (Seven). This woman has excelled herself! 10/10
Foreigner by Jordan Mckampa
Just a gourgous album. I’ve loved him for a while and have waited for an album, I couldn’t have asked for better. I really love his voice, it’s so soulful and there’s no one like him right now. More people need to be aware of this album! The lyrics are so poignant as well. 9.5/10
10. Compilation 1.1 by Celeste 9.1/10
11. Petals for Armour by Hayley Williams 9.1/10
12. Plastic Hearts by Miley Cyrus 9.1/10
13. High Road by Kesha 9/10
14. Rare by Selena Gomez 9/10
15. The Bonny by Gerry Cinnamon 9/10
16. 10 Songs by Travis 9/10
17. Women in Music Pt. III by Haim 9/10
18. Walk Like We Do by The Big Moon 8.9/10
19. aloha by son little 8.7/10
20. It Was Good Until It Wasn’t by Kehlani 8.7/10
21. Everything Else Has Gone Wrong by Bombay Bicylce Club 8.5/10
22. Father of All... by Green Day 8.5/10
23. ALICIA by Alicia Keys 8.5/10
24. Barbara by Trixie Mattel 8.3/10
25. Love Goes by Sam Smith 8/10
26. Twice as Tall by Burna Boy 8/10
27. The Album by Teyana Taylor 7.9/10
I also have 4 Eps I’ve loved from this year:
1. Freckle Season by Orla Gartland 9.7/10
2. Piano Sketches by Birdy 9/10
3. The S(ex) Tapes by Fletcher 8.9/10
4. Texas Sun by Kruangbin, Leon Bridges 8/10
Honourable mentions that didn’t quite make it:
Future Nostalgia by Dua Lipa
After Hours by The Weeknd
Notes on a Conditional Form by The 1975
Positions by Arianna Grande
The Otherside by Cam
Ghost World by Lauren Aquillina
KIKI by Kiana Ledé
Shake the Snow Globe by Russ
Manic by Halsey
Chromatica by Lady Gaga
Edit (2021); I went back and added one more album.
+ 1: The Lion King: The Gift [Deluxe Edition] by Beyoncé 9/10
~ It’s far too good not to include so I had to come back & add it in ✨

Song of the day for the day before yesterday
Lyrics:
You just made the worst mistake
And you'll regret it, darling
'Cause once you give and then you take
You'll only end up wanting
Was everything hard enough?
'Cause one day you'll wake up
And then you'll say
“I wanna be your lover
I don't wanna be your friend”
You don't know what you got 'til it's gone, my dear
So tell me that you love me again (Tell me that you love me again)
I, I wanna be your lover
Baby, I'll hold my breath
You don't know what you got 'til it's gone, my dear
So tell me that you love me again (Tell me that you love me)
Again, babe, again
Again, babe, again
You don't know what you got 'til it's gone, my dear
So tell me that you love me again
Ooh, she's screaming in my head
Ooh, I left her where I slept
Somewhere, I can't escape, I'm running from myself (Ooh)
Somewhere in between in love and broken, I'm in hell
Saying "I wanna be your lover, I don't wanna be your friend"
You don't know what you got 'til it's gone, my dear
So tell me that you love me again (Tell me that you love me again)
I, I wanna be your lover
You'll leave when the clock hits ten
You don't know what you got 'til it's gone, my dear
So tell me that you love me again (Tell me that you love me)
Again, babe, again
Again, babe, again
You don't know what you got 'til it's gone, my dear
So tell me that you love me again (Tell me that you love me)
Again, babe, again
Again, babe, again
You don't know what you got 'til it's gone my dear
So tell me that you love me again (Tell me that you love me again)

Q&A: Noah Cyrus On Her Grammy Nomination, Advice From John Mayer, The Influence Of Bob Dylan
New Post has been published on https://perfectirishgifts.com/qa-noah-cyrus-on-her-grammy-nomination-advice-from-john-mayer-the-influence-of-bob-dylan/
Q&A: Noah Cyrus On Her Grammy Nomination, Advice From John Mayer, The Influence Of Bob Dylan
Singer/songwriter Noah Cyrus has had a breakout 2020, culminating in a Grammy nomination for Best … [] New Artist.
As I wrote about in my year-end honors, a famous last name is both a blessing and a curse. It brings instant recognition and opportunity, but it also often brings unreasonable expectations and preconceived notions.
I say this as someone who has interviewed Julian and Sean Lennon, Jakob Dylan, Wolfgang Van Halen, artists whose surnames are music royalty. So when your last name is Cyrus and your dad, Billy Ray, has been involved in two of the biggest pop songs of the last 30 years — “Achy Breaky Heart” and “Old Town Road” (the remix with Lil Nas X) — and your sister is Miley Cyrus, one of the most iconic pop stars in the world — people are both going to pay attention and think they know you.
If all you know of Noah Cyrus is her famous last name, then you know nothing of the 2021 Grammy Best New Artist nominee. Noah Cyrus is unequivocally her own artist musically. She is a stunning singer/songwriter whose depth and songs on The End Of Everything EP not only belie her age of 20, but would be impressive for an artist twice her age. And she shows on her surprise new single, “All Three,” out today, the aching beauty of The End Of Everything is just the beginning.
Talk to Cyrus, as I did for an hour, and it is clear where that depth comes from. Her vast musical knowledge, which she does credit in part to her father, takes her from the forgotten 1970s classic “Seasons In The Sun” to Bob Dylan, Ben Howard and fellow Best New Artist nominees like Megan Thee Stallion and Dojo Cat.
This is a unique artist, who even before her Grammy nominee, had earned the praise and support of acts like John Mayer for good reason. I spoke with Cyrus about her Grammy nomination, what it means to her, how Dylan is influencing her future music, her love of sad songs and much, much more.
Steve Baltin: Have you gotten used to the Grammy nomination yet?
Noah Cyrus: This is still so unreal to me. So whenever my name and Grammys is in same sentence it doesn’t seem real to me.
Baltin: Maybe it doesn’t become real until you get to the actual show?
Cyrus: I honestly don’t know because I’ve never had an experience like this. I was in my best friend’s apartment in New York and she’s like, “I’m psychic, I’m psychic, I woke up at just the right time.” My phone was ringing and my manager was calling on FaceTime. When I answered the phone it was a group FaceTime with my mom and [my manager]. And I was like, “Oh, what did I do? (Laughs) What’s wrong?” And my mom looked so emotional. And she goes, “Can I say it? You’re nominated for a Grammy.” I was still waking up and it took me a minute or two, I just couldn’t stop crying. I kept asking, “Really? I’m nominated for a Grammy?” It was such a different feeling than I would ever expect it to be. It was way better, way more rewarding.
Baltin: You are in there with such great and diverse talent too.
Cyrus: Honestly the entire list is so incredible. Phoebe [Bridgers] is obviously incredible, Megan and Dojo have taken this year by storm. And so I think another reason why I was so thrilled with gratitude, not only of the nomination of course, but to see my name next to some of the most amazing female musicians and musicians that are also being recognized as this year’s Best New Artist, these are people that I listen to. I’m singing “WAP” in my car every single day. That’s the most empowering song for a woman. Say So” I know the whole dance. So I’m completely filled with gratitude that I’m in the same category with the artists that I am.
Baltin: Though you have gotten endorsements from some cool people, including John Mayer.
Cyrus: I was at a party and John came up and told me that “July” was one of his favorite songs. I couldn’t believe someone I’ve idolized for so long even heard my music let alone appreciated it.
Baltin: So what did that mean to you and does it give you more confidence as an artist going forward?
Cyrus: It was totally a moment that felt like you were in a dream, just because you idolized somebody from such a young age. When he came up to me and told me he loved “July” it came with so much more than just, “I love your song.” It was, “Remember to appreciate that song and the good that song brings and to keep creating songs like that.” I think about what he said to me all the time. It was the best advice that I’ve probably ever gotten about my musical career. Probably the only time someone has actually sat and given me advice. People ask me all the time, “What’s the best advice your dad or Miley or anybody in your family has given you?” I’m like, “I don’t know, we don’t really sit around giving each other a bunch of advice.” The best advice I have gotten musically has been from John and it was to keep creating music that you’re gonna want to sing for the rest of your life. And he told me, “This is a song I love right now and people are gonna love 20 years from now. And that’s how you know you have a special record.” So I played him “I Got So High I Saw Jesus” before it came out and he had the same response. It was to keep creating records that you want to sing for the rest of your life. So I’ve got such a special bond with Peter Harding, who I made most of my EP with. We wrote “July,” “I Got So High I Saw Jesus,” “Young And Sad,” “The End Of Everything,” the title track of the EP. That’s one of my favorite songs I’ve ever written. I was sitting in my living room looking at the mountains with PJ and we were writing “The End Of Everything” and I showed him this video. It’ll blow your mind. My music video for “The End Of Everything,” I had the director, John Boswell, who made the video of the end of the universe, we shortened that video and that is the music video for “The End Of Everything” because that is what completely inspired that song. There was something that spoke to me a lot.
Baltin: The song felt very literary. Are you a big reader?
Cyrus: I definitely will be honest that I’m not the biggest reader. If I was to tell you that I’m a big reader right now my mom would be like, “Noah Lindsey Cyrus, you are the biggest liar on the earth.” (Laughs) I do visualize everything and things that I see open up my mind a lot more. And I’m also very poetic, I do like writing and reading poems. And I like telling a story, I’ve always been interested in the story. I want there to be within music you can almost see something, I want to paint the picture, I want there to be colors that you imagine, whatever the song means to you in your life, in your world, I want that to come to life in your brain and you to see it.
Baltin: What were those first songs when you were a kid that did that for you?
Cyrus: Well the very first song that I ever learned to sing was Terry Jacks’ “Seasons In The Sun.”
Baltin: That is one of my favorite songs of all time. And the back story on that is though it was a number one hit it’s been crucified as being cheesy and maudlin, until Nirvana covered it, then it was cool. Any chance you will ever cover it?
Cyrus: Dude, I promise you 1000 percent that my dad and I are going to put out a cover of that song. I promise you because my dad and I talk about that all the time. And I say to him, “You know that all of this is because you had me singing ‘Seasons In The Sun.'” He would go out in the gym and work out and play that and “Hooked On A Feeling” [Blue Swede] over and over. Those were my two favorite songs. But I remember “Seasons In The Sun,” that’s a really dark song for a child. And I’m talking like once I was talking I would sing it. Though I may not have understood at the time the exact wording of the song and what everything meant. But I remember feeling the sadness and feeling the emotion and the connection to it as a young child. And that’s something that always stuck out to me. But I remember knowing it was sad and I remember feeling it. And that’s something I love about Ben Howard’s music. I could listen to Ben Howard play guitar and tears would come to my eyes because of the emotion within the instrument that he’s playing. And I that’s almost what happened with “Seasons In The Sun.” I was so into the music.
Baltin: When did you understand the message and depth of the song?
Cyrus: I always felt the sadness and I’ve always been one to gravitate towards sad songs. I like sad songs. My dad and mine’s song is Vern Gosdin “Is It Raining At Your House?” We always text each other whenever he’s in Nashville, “Is it raining at your house like it’s raining at mine?” And we’ll text each other, “Do you miss me like I miss you?” And we’ll text the lyrics to each other. But I had to have been around five or six because my grandpa had passed away around that time, my dad’s dad. And I started understanding the words. I think I remember him saying the words, “Goodbye, Michelle, my little one.” And I think I started to understand this song was about him dying and about death, which made me appreciate my dad even more when we were singing it. This song actually kind of helped shape me as a kid, just a young kid. I really learned to appreciate my family end everybody. That’s my earliest memory of a song. Every time somebody says, “What’s your first song?” I always say, “Well, Billy Ray Cyrus.” But really it had to have been “Seasons In The Sun.” I swear there hasn’t been one year in my life I haven’t spoken about or sung this song.
Baltin: You say it shaped everything. So how do you hear that influence in your music?
Cyrus: Absolutely, when I say it shaped me, that’s no exaggeration. I’ve really been listening to that song since I was a little kid and I think that’s why I’m not afraid to write music that hurts. And The End Of Everything EP it hurts to listen to, it hurts me to listen to. But death is something I was afraid of and I’m starting to get less afraid because I just lost my grandma. I’m starting to get less afraid because I get to reunite with my family again and that’s something that doesn’t scare me anymore. The reason I said it shaped it me was because it made me sing and write songs and talk about things that were uncomfortable or really dark. Sometimes I’ll be writing with people and they’re like, “That’s dark.” But I’m like, “It’s not too dark.” I have a song where PJ and I wrote the lyrics, “Living fast and dying slowly/Just two cold and lonely bodies, nothing more.” That’s not in any of my songs that are out now, but that lyric is just about co-existing with somebody and not existing together. You’re just next to each other and you’ve grown cold and you’ve grown distant. Somebody was like, “Is that a little too dark?” And I was like, “No.”
Baltin: What is your saddest song?
Cyrus: One is “Don’t Think Twice, It’s Alright.” There’s something about it. It’s the best song ever, man. I’m a huge Dylan fan and he’s inspired a lot of my up and coming music that’s soon to come that I’ve written with Peter Harding. And I’m really excited. Bob Dylan was one of the biggest inspirations for my up and coming music.
Baltin: So when you say up and coming music what is the timeline for that?
Cyrus: I’m excited because there’s some stuff I haven’t announced yet. But I do have a new single coming December 11 and I think it’s just gonna start a whole new chapter. I have a lot of things for next year I’m just excited about, my own album and more. Man, I’ve just been making music and I love making it. And that brings me back to exactly what John told me to do, to create music you love making and you’ll love it forever. You’ll never get tired of singing it, no one will get tired of hearing it.
Baltin: As a Dylan fan I have to ask since there are so many eras of Dylan music, what period of Dylan is influencing the new music?
Cyrus: He’s definitely diverse, which I’m diverse as an artist. So I wouldn’t say there’s a specific Dylan era. I was extremely inspired by Slow Train Coming, but I wouldn’t want to pinpoint it to one because I’m such a Dylan fan overall. But whenever you say that I literally look over to my right to my desktop and I have the screenshot of Slow Train Coming and it was something I was listening to. I sent it over to PJ months ago and it’s crazy we’re having this conversation now.
Baltin: Are there artists you admire for the way they mix music and social activism?
Cyrus: Yes, Chance The Rapper, I was just talking about this. I admire Chance The Rapper so much for all the charity work he does, everything he posts about. You’re always seeing Chance The Rapper doing something and giving back. And that was somebody who inspired me and made me want to do the same. That’s why you publicize that you’re doing things, so you inspire other people to do the same to speak up and work harder to protect people, give back to your community. And Chance The Rapper has done an amazing job at doing that.
Baltin: Who is your dream Grammy duet?
Cyrus: I always say my dream person to perform with or sing with is Alex Turner, always. I saw him live and it changed my life. Same with Ben Howard and Bon Iver. There were three concerts in my life that I’ve seen that took over me and everything stopped, just them and the stage. And that’s how I feel it should be.

Tayler Buono Is No Longer Stuck [Q&A]
Tayler Buono is an incredibly talented artist whose breakthrough single “Technically Single” landed her a deal with RCA Records. Her single shot up to Spotify’s U.S. Viral 50 chart and continues to grow with nearly 27 million streams to date. Yet, not long after, Buono’s record deal with RCA fell through; she was left with an unclear direction and multiple unreleased projects up in the air.
Now, she is back and stronger than ever. Her latest single “Screen” is a perfect introduction to her newfound freedom as an artist.
If I had to pick one way to describe Buono’s “Screen,” it would be unapologetically honest. The track begins with the opening line, “Should probably delete my fake account and stop stalking my ex / but I just can’t put it down.” I cannot speak for everyone, but from personal experience, it is a wholly universal sentiment. Scrolling for hours without putting my phone down, without giving myself time to heal.
Buono excels at putting these difficult to capture feelings into stirring song. With its emphasis healing, self-love and growth, it was my unique pleasure to speak with Buono about “Screen” and her journey thus far,

Ones to Watch: Who is Tayler Buono?
Tayler Buono: I’m an artist/singer/songwriter from Orlando, FL. Currently based in LA.
Tell us about your journey so far in the music industry and how it led you to where you are now.
I started writing songs when I was 14 after I learned my first four chords on guitar and I became obsessed and determined to find a way to pursue music. When I was 18, I won the Florida Grammy Showcase and moved to Nashville shortly after to pursue my dreams in music. I took college classes online, drove for uber, and invested all my energy into writing with anybody and everybody I could. Eventually I wrote a song that changed my life. I released “Technically Single” independently in July of 2016. That song was real and raw for me to write as I was low key in a gray relationship with someone for two years who was very noncommittal with me while I was very committed to him. I was “technically single but emotionally unavailable.” The relationship was so bad for me at the time but the song… went viral on Spotify and suddenly all the major labels were hitting me up. I had never gone through anything like that before so it was a complete whirlwind taking meetings and felt surreal.
In January of 2017, I signed with RCA and I moved from Nashville to LA. “Technically Single” boy stepped up and made me his girlfriend (technically). I had a lot of buzz in the industry and everything looked promising. It felt like all my dreams were really gonna come true... But after the radio push with “Technically Single” didn’t work because the timing wasn’t right, everything slowly started to stall. I didn’t really have a champion at the label fighting for me. I started to doubt myself and overthink everything. Then my bf, the one I had been with for four years, dumped me a couple days before Christmas over a text message. (Ya let that sink in, took me awhile). Then, a few weeks later, top of 2018, my manager leaves me. Happy new year? I was having a HARD time... The enthusiasm in the label had died and after going back and forth for a long time we decided it was time to split. The process itself of legally getting out of the deal took about a year.. sooo much waiting. I was stuck.
But for as long as I can remember, anytime I didn’t know what else to do in life I’d just put my head down and write another song. That experience pushed me a lot and caused me to grow the most I ever have in my life and I think it’ll make me a stronger artist because of it. All the growth, pain, heartbreak ended up inspiring my upcoming project and I’m finally independent again and am excited to start fresh and put out all my music!
What has quarantine life looked like for you?
Quarantine life has been an interesting mix of emotions. I flew home to Florida to quarantine with my parents. I definitely struggled to get out of bed for a bit as my head was in a funk, as I’ve been struggling with the state of the world. I wasn’t really motivated to do anything until I started putting my energy into my art. I ended up self-shooting a music video on my iPhone so that was really fun to make! However, while I was working on that my dad ended up getting sick with COVID-19, pneumonia in both lungs, and was in and out of the hospital. It was really scary but thankfully he’s doing so much better and is COVID free now! Besides all of that, I’ve been enjoying time with my family, doing lots of yoga in the sunshine, reading, having lots of conversations about social justice, and just trying to be kind to myself and others as we’re all living in this strange, yet necessary, time together.
What made you want to pursue music in the first place?
I’ve always gravitated towards the way music connects people. It’s like a universal language. Ever since I wrote my first song I knew it was what I had to pursue in life. Writing songs has been the way I cope and process anything heavy in life. It’s like therapy. I love the way it can turn something painful or messy into something beautiful. :)
What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given?
Keep writing. Enjoy the journey. Follow your gut. Write a song that is so honest it makes you uncomfortable.
What would you say has been the biggest influence on your music?
The healing process after getting my heart broken and learning to let go and love myself inspired my upcoming project. :)
Do you have a background in dance? From your previous music videos and on stage appearance it feels like you might?
No I don’t! I wish. I LOVE to dance so much but in no way would I ever call myself a good dancer. Haha. I’m a WEIRD dancer. It definitely came out during my “Screen” video shoot. I’ll just continue to embrace it though because dance parties are one of my favorite things in the world.
Walk us through your songwriting process.
My favorite way to write is starting with an experience I can visualize in my head and being in a room with people I can have honest conversation with. It’s gotta be emotion led and feel real. I love to start with a track, beat, or sound from a producer that inspires me then freestyle on a mic. Sometimes melody will come first, sometimes lyrics, or sometimes both will naturally fall out together when I’m lucky. I love co-writing because I feed off of others’ energy and it inspires me. It’s way more fun to collaborate and work with people than work alone.
If you could go on tour with anyone, dead or alive, who would it be?
Coldplay, Rihanna, Adele, Florence + the Machine, Alanis Morissette, Queen, Madonna…
You filmed and produced your own music video for “Screen” during quarantine. What was that process like?
It was so fun!! I originally was going to shoot a professional music video but then the pandemic happened and of course had to rethink everything. I ended up shooting it on my iPhone. It was cool to challenge myself and try something new I had never done before. I put my phone on a tripod and filmed several takes on a green screen that I ordered online, in my bedroom, and in my living room. I pulled a lot of all nighters working on it.
Who are your Ones to Watch?
Lennon Stella, Tate McRae, Noah Cyrus, BENEE, and Elina lately are some of my favorite upcoming artists I’ve been listening to a lot lately.
