Walking into the bar, Lyra hadn't even noticed anything above her, she'd blame her height, but it became very obvious something was going on by the noises behind her. Glancing back, her eyes widened as she watched Drew battle what she assumed was mistletoe but it wasn't confirmed until the plant landed on the ground between them. "I'm pretty sure you're supposed to mack under the mistletoe not fight it even though it is a parasite so...maybe you're doing the world a favor."

as the other makes their way through the doorway first without a single hitch, drew follows after without a second thought, before immediately getting hit in the face by the plant that was directly level to the face due to his height, scrunching up his nose and not at all thinking nor caring about the implications of mistletoe hung before them, only that it had practically wacked him in the face, causing him to decidedly push it away...for it to only come swinging back at him at full force. this continues back and forth for a moment, only getting more aggressive with each swing back, which ultimately ends with the small branch finally falling at his feet, with drew now looking down at it before back at the other. "oh. mistletoe..."

Lyra folded her hands neatly behind her back and gave a small disapproving sigh through her nose. Had any junior Marines seen Vice Admiral Smoker and Rear Admiral Hina drinking to excess? Any civilians, or worse, pirates? It was perfectly within regulations to enjoy a night on the town, but Lyra, being as old-fashioned as she was, did not approve of skirting the line of professionalism in public. Then again, G-5 Marines were a different breed. Very different from the Marines of her battleship. She should not pretend to understand their local culture.

She was sympathetic to an extent. Her misgivings over Vice Admiral Smoker not treading her personal standard of professionalism were not to destroy her compassion for him as a fellow Marine.

"Those cigars will make your headache worse. The nicotine will dehydrate you further," she answered him matter-of-factly, lowering her voice as he had requested. Her father smoked cigars every day... except for after nights of drinking wine.

She unfolded her hands from behind herself and walked across the office to the window, pulling the blinds down slowly to darken the room. "I know you don't need me to tell you this, but: drink water, sleep if you can, get food in your stomach."

Lyra left the window to walk across the newly dim room to the doorway. The wooden planks of the floorboards creaked beneath her, and she wondered if even that was too loud for him in this state.

She turned at the doorway to look at him once more. Those in their line of profession could be in a fight at any moment; his Marines needed him fit to lead them. Ah... she'll keep that to herself. There was no need to be patronizing. He knew what he was doing, and even hungover, Smoker was no doubt formidable.

"I hope you feel better soon, Vice Admiral," said Lyra, sincerely. "If you need anything from me, just call me on the Den Den. Battleship 71 will be moored here another two days before we get underway."

She left.

Muse & Blog Update:

While being on this weird hiatus I've been doing a lot of blog and muse work. There is a brand new muse page that is still a work in progress. But right now all are listed, and sorted by primary, secondary, test/new, and private. A few hurt me to say goodbye to, but unfortunately it was time.

I have a new URL and new theme/color scheme, and am hopefully going to work on some new promo stuff.

I've also overhauled my open starter tag. I will relink it as soon as it's finished, but right now I'm deleting ones from muses I've removed, will be reposting some oldies but (what i think are) goodies, and planning out new ones that I will be queuing up for the coming days. As always, they will be permanently open once released.

I have done a very large follower purge. Removed some long inactive accounts and some people that i've just never interacted with. Hoping putting some new content out there will help my will to write return more, and maybe find some new friends.

Lastly, I hope support continues to return my emails over this silly thing that @wynterlanding and I can no longer see each other on our dashboards. It had become increasingly discouraging that this is the only person it's happening to and considering how much we interact there should be no reason for it.

Thank you for sticking with me this long. This blog is going on 3 1/2 years old and I'm just so happy that I have and continue to make friends on this god forsaken hell site.

 Ο Αντώνης Φωστιέρης γεννήθηκε στην Αθήνα το 1953. Κατάγεται από την Αμοργό. Σπούδασε Νομικά στην Αθήνα και Ιστορία Δικαίου στο Παρίσι. Έως σήμερα έχει δημοσιεύσει δέκα ποιητικές συλλογές, τον συγκεντρωτικό τόμο Ποίηση 1970-2005, τον τόμο Άπαντα Τα Ποιήματα 1970 – 2020, ένα λεύκωμα σε συνεργασία με τον Αλέκο Φασιανό και ένα με τον Γιάννη Ψυχοπαίδη. Είκοσι πέντε μεταφράσεις βιβλίων του έχουν κυκλοφορήσει από έγκυρους εκδοτικούς οίκους στην Ευρώπη και στην Αμερική (Αγγλία, Γαλλία, Γερμανία, Δανία, Ιταλία, Ρουμανία, Σερβία, Κροατία, Αλβανία, Η.Π.Α., Αργεντινή). Ποίησή του περιλαμβάνεται στα Κείμενα Νεοελληνικής Λογοτεχνίας του Λυκείου (Ελλάδας και Κύπρου) και σε πολλές ανθολογίες, ενώ από τη δισκογραφική εταιρεία «Lyra/Διόνυσος» κυκλοφορεί το CD Ο Αντώνης Φωστιέρης διαβάζει Φωστιέρη. Έχει μεταφράσει τις Συμβουλές σ’ ένα νέο ποιητή του Μαξ Ζακόμπ. Ποιήματά του έχουν μελοποιήσει ο Γιάννης Μαρκόπουλος, ο Θάνος Μικρούτσικος, ο Θανάσης Νικόπουλος και ο Keith Moore. Το 2017 κυκλοφόρησε από τις Εκδόσεις Αιγαίον ο τόμος κριτικών κειμένων Για τον Αντώνη Φωστιέρη σε επιμέλεια Θεοδόση Πυλαρινού και το 2021 από τις Εκδόσεις Καστανιώτη η εκτενής μελέτη του ιδίου Ο ποιητής Αντώνης Φωστιέρης – Θεματικές και μορφολογικές προσεγγίσεις στο έργο του. Εκδότης και διευθυντής του περιοδικού Η Νέα Ποίηση (1974-1976), συνδιευθυντής της ετήσιας έκδοσης Ποίηση (1975-1981), συνεκδότης και διευθυντής του λογοτεχνικού περιοδικού Η Λέξη (1981-2010). Του έχουν απονεμηθεί το Διεθνές Βραβείο Καβάφη (1993), το Βραβείο Βρεττάκου του Δήμου Αθηναίων (1998), το Κρατικό Βραβείο Ποίησης (2004), το Βραβείο Ποίησης του περιοδικού Διαβάζω (2004) και, για το σύνολο του έργου του, το Βραβείο Ποίησης του Ιδρύματος Ουράνη της Ακαδημίας Αθηνών (2010).

Abilities: - Photokinesis: She can manipulate light and use it to her advantage. She uses this ability to make holograms (like her mother), blind her enemies, and create small rainbows in her hands. (She usually gets distracted by this.) - Lithokinesis: She can grow clusters of crystals from her hands. (She gets distracted by this as well.) (this may sound random but um like I have a little bit of logic behind it- kind of anyway- basically I kinda just thought this would be a cool power for an Iris kid because.. crystals can make rainbows? It makes sense in my head-)

Personality: She’s usually energetic and hyperactive, she finds it hard to focus sometimes. She gets overwhelmed easily and likes solitude and quiet. She likes hiding in the woods when life becomes too much for her to handle.

She's lived in Camp Half-blood since she was 9, when her dad died. She doesn't leave unless it's an emergency situation. She doesn't like the outside world that much. Chiron keeps wanting her to think about what she'll do as a career when she leaves camp, but the truth is that she doesn't want to. She's terrified of leaving the protected bubble that encompasses the camp.

Her favorite place in camp is the arts and crafts center. She loves doing things like crocheting, drawing, painting, and such!
