[Victoria walked into the room Lynn had prepared for her, she had prepared a number of her things for Victoria to have. She lifted up a doll and moved its arms about. It’d be nice to do things better than she had , but she didn’t want to give up her current life to do it. She wanted to fix it]

Lynn - I’m sorry I don’t have more Mary Beth, but maybe we can just play together more

[She felt her heart warm at seeing Lynn happy , it was good to see her doing better, but she couldn’t help but feel like she knew nothing of the world when she saw her. Like she was just a dumb kid ]

[She hugged the doll]

Lynn - I was scared too when I found out , but my masters really smart. I can call her on my computer if you want

Victoria - I guess I don’t have anything to prove to some old hag

[Lynn smacked her, and due to her weak body , it hurt]

Lynn - She’s our elder Mary , we have to respect her

Dear Sis,

I’m so happy that you’ll be home in a few days! I really missed you and cannot wait to hear about all your adventures at school and the cities back East.

You were right. The last few months sped by like the time Mr. Drummond lost control of his wagon and it careened down Talin’s hill. There aren’t any cabbages to pick up though, just all the stories I can’t wait to tell you!

I’m sorry I didn’t write much. Mother has kept me very busy when I’m not at school or at Chateau D’Angelo. Some new things have my heart all fluttering, but I’m sworn to secrecy.

Mother has been acting different since February. She doesn’t lock herself in her room anymore. Instead, she’s busy around the house and helping people in the community. She’s so very happy now and I don’t understand why. One day, I spied her dancing by herself in the parlor! I watched from behind the door as she hummed a merry tune and twirled on the rug. She had such the prettiest smile.

I have not seen a single other person mention it in the ten years since its release but I thought the movie version of Lucky Stiff was pretty okay. This song was definitely the best scene though, "Nice" is one of my favorite Flaherty and Ahrens songs and these two sound great on it. They never released the soundtrack so I'm ripping it and posting it here for easier access.

Victoria - It’s pretty safe. People do get mad that two of the sailor scouts are gay. One dub made them gay cousins

Victoria - Yeah , they like girls

Lynn - [thinks about it] Is it ok to like girls

Victoria - Of course it is. Only weird people have a problem with it

Victoria - [sits up and repositions herself to face Lynn] Well...good. Owning what you are is the best way to go. It makes you strong

Lynn - [starts crying] Why am i even telling you ? Am i stupid ? I should have told Kate ….

Victoria - I supported you !

Victoria - [tries not to cry herself] I did

Never Married - school approaches

Dear Chloe,

What can I say that hasn’t already been said? Yesterday was exactly what I needed. Your presents touched my heart, especially the painting you made of Max holding the flower. It’s breathtaking! And not just because of the model.

In ten days, I leave for Wesleyan! I am simultaneously scared and excited but also sad to journey to the other side of the country. I’ve never been further than Portland or San Francisco and that was with friends and family. Soon, I’ll be alone thousands of miles away learning new things. It’s not the same without Max. We had talked of schooling together before their Summer trip. The halls of learning will be cold and harsh without them there.

I’m very happy for you, Chloe. You’ll be in Berkeley with Steph...
