this and the breastplate stretcher scenes are my favorite of robert's. i love that in his most intimate and vulnerable moments with ned, he acknowledges himself as a failure. here specifically he is openly ashamed that he did not act as a king should. ned, notably, thinks it is unkingly of him not to punish jaime lannister for the murder of five stark men, but has no opinion of him punching cersei in the head so hard it bowls her over and leaves a bruise over half of her face. as usual the thing that connects them more strongly than their shared childhood is a dead girl and a beaten wife (but a cold and frigid wife who's mean so it's understandable that robert beats her. charitable, almost! he never loved her. not the way he loves a dead girl who he can no longer remember very well.)

i also love how robert frames his own behavior. he is not sufficiently performing kingliness. i love that his reasoning for why he is failing at his station is similar to how sansa reasons out her own behaviors in accordance with her well-studied noble lady's courtesies.

You were very hesitant with your feelings. Sans knew that when he got into a relationship with you. That’s why he never rushed you into anything, always stayed at your pace. You were quiet, shy, and although long for others, were very selective of those around you. Thankfully Sans was nothing but a patient guy and was willing to work with you to build your relationship to how it is now.

It was important to him, this relationship with you. Three years of friendship and almost two years of dating, that was about five years he had known you. When you two first met, you were hesitant to talk to him on your own until months later when you were finally comfortable being around him without Papyrus, and when he confessed his feelings, you had admitted you had been harboring feelings for him a year longer. You were just too hesitant to do anything and waited for them to fade away (luckily for him, they never did).

Of course, Sans knew that the words “I love you” would not come instantly. He didn’t mind though—he didn’t need the vocal confirmation to know you cherished him dearly. He could feel it in your intent, when you would wrap him in a blanket when he was napping on the couch, when you would purchase a gift because you knew he would laugh, when you would comfort him in times he needed it. Everything you did for him had “I love you” all over and that was enough for him to know you loved him. But that didn’t make the words any less lovely when he heard you say it for the first time.

It was late at night and you were in bed, already asleep. Usually you were awake at this time with him but your busy schedule had tired you out. Sans didn’t mind though, he knew you deserved this rest for working hard. So, although he couldn’t talk to you, he could still hang out with you by being your cuddle buddy. His spot was already taken though, a pillow in your arms snug against your chest. Fortunately, Sans was able to slip it out of your arms with ease and sneak into your bed, but moving the blanket around stirred you awake.

Blinking wearily, you smiled once you noticed the one in front of you was Sans and opened your arms for him. Once he was in his usual spot—tucked against your chest—your arms wrapped around him and pulled him closer. It was warm and Sans could feel the love coming off your skin.

Chuckling, Sans murmured against your chest, “good night.”

“Good night,” You sleepily replied, your chin resting on the top of his skull. 

In your embrace, he shut his eye sockets and focused on your heartbeat. He liked hearing it. It was so different compared to monsters and their souls. He let it lure him to sleep with you, hearing your heartbeat slow down as you relaxed.

Then, you whispered so softly, he barely heard it, “I love you.”

His sockets snapped open in surprise as he did a double take. Did he hear you correctly? No, he definitely heard you correctly. His soul trembled excitedly in his ribcage from hearing your vocal declaration, a blush forming on his face quicker than it had ever before. He felt you press a kiss on his skull, your lips in a smile that told him you knew how he was feeling from your words.

He buried his flushed face into your shirt, clinging onto you as he muttered, “i love you too.”

what do you think of the idea that lyanna and rhaegar were t4t, but lacked the words or framework to understand it? inexplicably drawn to each other as people who didn't fit the gender roles they were both supposed to play?

inexplicably drawn to each other as people who didn’t fit their assigned gender roles is just canon. i’d say it’s implied that, even if they had met before, rhaegar only takes notice of lyanna after he finds out she’s the knight of the laughing tree. i think if you’re hcing them as t4t (as i do) it’s probably not what grrm intended but it’s thematically relevant to the themes of asoiaf

So, imagine that all of us are living on Coruscant during the Clone Wars. Obviously we would all be going to 79’s, right? Now I’m wondering what everyone is gonna wear the first time you’re going? What kind of drinks do you order? What will you be doing? Who will you be flirting with?

What to wear: Okay, so outfit-wise, I'm a pretty simple gal. I dress for the weather and atmosphere, but I'm a sucker for casual clothes 😭💕 For me, I'd choose a basic fitted singlet, maybe something nice, like one of my embroidered cardigans and a pair of wide-leg jeans (possibly also embroidered). Yes, I'm a sucker for that cute cottagecore shit. I'm a softie, so - flower-power, bitches! 💐💐 My white sneakers, if we're doing a lot of walking/dancing! I'm also like my Nésa, Lya - I'm the mom friend of the group, so a first-aid kit in my blue leather satchel bag is a must!! Bandaids, alchohol wipes and being able to carry any personal essentials for my fellow friendsies is ALWAYS necessary. Curly hair in a messy bun or down. No in-between, besties. 🤣💖

What drinks will I order?: *slams table* LEMON-LIME BITTERS 🍋🍹. Non-alcoholic drinks for me, guys. I'm literally one of the worst people to take clubbing. But, non-alchoholic drinks literally taste better. You take me to a pub? It's gonna be pink lemonade or nothing. I need to be in control and have the coherence to make sure each person I'm with doesn't get too hammered and always has company to places like the bar or bathrooms. I also would be the perfect person to watch drinks. Can never be too careful, besties. I might just break out my cringe moves, if you're lucky 🤣💖

What I'll be doing: If you can't already tell, a club really isn't my kind of thing. Parties aren't really comfortable places for me, I'm often just fretting over drunk friends, making sure they don't hurt themselves. I love the company of friends though, so I have no doubts that I'd go just for the presence of the people I trust and care about. So I'm a chaperone and your dinner and drinks buddy. Like I mentioned before - I might bust out my cringe moves if I have enough encouragement from my beloveds 😭😂💕

Who will I be flirting with: Flirting? Me?? Same sentence??? I'm terrible at it. I can't fathom wooing a bloke, in all honesty. BUT. That being said!!! Rex, Cody and Fives my beloveds?? Who knows, I might just shoot my shot, even if it is just to make the first two go red in the face 😂💞 I love them so much, but they're duty first, play later peoples. I can respect it, but a girl can have fun, right?? 😅😂💞 It looks like Fives may catch the brunt of my shit, though 😂💖

So, imagine that all of us are living on Coruscant during the Clone Wars. Obviously we would all be going to 79’s, right? Now I’m wondering what everyone is gonna wear the first time you’re going? What kind of drinks do you order? What will you be doing? Who will you be flirting with?

What to Wear: so, i have a couple of options for dresses i could wear. there's my beige vintage fit-and-flare dress, it's got spaghetti straps and it's flowy and has renaissance art prints on the fabric. (my only concern is that it's very low cut, i went to watch hamilton wearing it and i joked to one of my bffs that i looked like i was 'tits out for [hamilton character name]' lololol)

the other outfit option is a short flowy and flattering black and white polka dot dress that i love a lot and feel really comfy in.

shoes wise i'd probably just wear a pair of black kitten heels, and then i'd bring a matching mini backpack.

my hair would be down and curly, and i'd have some pretty elaborate eye makeup, including eyeliner. probably a neutral lip colour. i don't usually wear a lot of hand jewellery as i have sensory issues with that type of thing, but i'd for sure wear my moon necklace.

What to Order: i'd probably just order a soda because i don't drink alcohol. if i'm feeling up to it i might have a non-alcoholic cocktail!

What to Do: much like my vod'ika i'm the parent friend, so i would just likely be sitting in the corner sipping my virgin cocktails and people watching! if a song comes on that i really like i could probably be easily coerced into getting up for a dance, though!

Who to Woo: i'm not flirtatious by nature, so i probably wouldn't be wooing anyone (though i might give rex a few sideways glances if i see him around, heh). i'm more like the terminal wingman, and i'm happy with that!

What to Wear: I'm not a party person (not someone who could stay up pretty late either for that matter) but I guess that I would wear my favourite red dress, it's a body fitting, lacy, knee-length one that I love, with my favourite black sandals that have a little heel. Hair down in all it's length and just some black lipstick as makeup, for accessories I would wear my inseparable silver rings on both my hands and a set of matching black bead earrings and necklace. And because I'm the mom friend of the group I can't go anywhere without my black leather backpack.

What to Order: I'm also abstemious lmao, so I would just order a fruity drink without alcohol and watch all my friends get drunk and dance.

What to Do: I would have to be dragged to 79s by pure force of the universe or coerced by my friends, so following the whole "mom friend" line I would sit down, book in one hand and my fruity concoction in the other, casting occasional glaces at my friends to check that they're alright and not getting too drunk, making sure that they take some water too and that they're never alone (specially while going to the bathroom).

I'm the worst possible person to bring to 79s, sorry.

Who to Woo: This one's funny, because a lot of people had told me in the past that I'm a flirt, but I have to make a conscious effort to actually flirt with someone, otherwise I'm thinking that I'm simply being polite and friendly, so, in the odd case that the stars align and I'm in the right mood, I'll try to flirt with either Dogma (because I'm a person who loves routines, calm and rules) or Echo (because even with the above, I'm a sarcastic bastard with a dark humor that likes to be surprised once in a while).

I would love to say that I would try to woo some of my favourite clone boys (sorry to the ones mentioned before), but I have to be realistic.
