Here we have a cute Luts Kid Delf Summer Event head from 2017 in real skin normal. They were a fun challenge as I am slowly making the switch to using acrylic instead of watercolor paints. This one was still combined with both paint types!

She's currently on a Little Monica body, which is actually quite a good colour match, even though a bit more yellow. (Resin comparison is gonna follow)

 😭🥺😭🥺😭............ I don’t even know what to say, laughs. She was my first big indulgence of the year and a sequel to this post. but she happened right around when I found DZ Sho, so I was rather overwhelmed by it all. (Thus is the way of this doll hobby)

Anyway, I saw her during the Oct event (in her little sakura kinomoto lookin wig and halloween witch costume, ruining my entire life) and spent a month doing draw-overs trying to decide if i liked her enough. In the end I opted to pass because I couldn’t think of how I would do her faceup (spoiler alert: I didn’t have to! HAW) and left it at that. I’ve been rather fretful of this purchase because I am highly picky about bodies, what if she looks too bobble-headed beside my slim msds, what if I didn’t like her sculpt as much as i thought, what if i didn’t like the faceup as much as i thought... and this and that.... 

but oh, she’s such a little angel!!!!!!!!!  😭😭

I’ve been a bit over the moon prepping sewing projects for her, pouring all of my love for morigirl fashion into her. It’s a little more modern than the fantasy-twinged cottage core of my yosd army, and I have a bit more flexibility with patterned fabric at a slightly larger size. I had wanted a mori-girl doll ages ago but shelved the idea, so... here i am now!

The wig I wanted for her didn’t work out, so I’ve been back to agonizing between the dozen choices i had for her until my next paycheck lol. it’s fiiiiiine. She’s been rotating the three 7/8 wigs I have in the meantime. (and looking rather darling in all of them.... Photos forthcoming) Also her name eludes me for now, but I’m sure it’ll come to me when her wig is picked.

As an aside, I’m really trying to put the breaks on more doll purchases for the next 6 months while I have some layaways active... I’d like to get everyone dressed and face-upped this summer. I might be getting a new sewing machine this year too and I’m very excited about that. 😭

He is a Luts kdf summer event head from 2014 in WS on a DollLove 45cm boy body in white from 2015.

He is legit but I don't have a CoA for him, I bought him off of DoA and can provide screenshots for the transactions of both the head and body along with the sellers original posts if wanted.

I'm asking $200 + shipping for him, splits are applicable if you want them ($50 for the head $150 for the body) please contact me if you have any questions or want more pictures. His body has yellowed a bit since I got him but not too badly, the head and body match up pretty well and can be blushed to match better or split up. He will ship from California. I just updated my DoA profile and realized I'm up to 22 dolls + 3 floating heads.

This doesn't count the ones that have come and gone over the years, but I'm just like...how the heck did this happen. D:

7 are Mandarake rescues (under $200), 1 is secondhand, and 3 were event gifts. Oldest one is from 2005, my Abio Angel Yi. He largely lives in the doll trunk these days, and badly needs de-yellowing (he is rather lemony).

Off the top of my head, I've also had an Abio Angel San/Bobobie hybrid, AoD Min, a Luts Delf El-Dreaming, KDF Kiwi, DZ Leo, DZ ...some female sculpt, MNF Karsh, MNF Eliya, MNF Breakaway, FL Ria, Withdoll Rachel, Withdoll Aiden, Volks Megu, Volks Yuki (I had two, thanks to Mandarake), DC Carol, Soom Nor, and a Soom Sard pass through here. Probably others that I've completely forgotten, unfortunately.

It's been a wild ride, and interesting to see how the collection has changed over the years. I went from being very MNF-based to preferring larger dolls (RIP my props), but I still don't get along with tinies, no matter how cute they are. I wanted a Unoa SO badly (got to handle one at a meet and almost lost my damn mind), but now...eh, I'd get one if I found one cheap.

As far as dolls I regret selling...hmm, maybe the El. Luts isn't so much my aesthetic these days, but the old Delf body had the right amount of chonk and heft to appeal to someone who likes heavier dolls.

For future plans, I want a Serenade Dolls girl...and a Volks F-35. Always the F-35. :p

...I'm kind of interested in hearing about how other BJD collections and plans have morphed over the years. Anyone wanna humor my curiousity? :D

Guess who just bought a Luts Winter Event 2012 KDF head! Also funnily enough it was from the person who bought the one I found last week where the seller forgot to mark it as sold, so that’s a coinkidink and a half lol. Also, I want my elf girl to have a cool skin tone, but idk what to go for, a dusty pink/purple, pale mint, or a cool blue. Thoughts?

Here we have a Luts KDF 2012 Winter Event head in normal real skin. The client wanted her to look really happy and have small stripes along her cheeks. I even made her some acrylic eyes as a gift because the client had been struggling to find eyes. I’m just sad I couldn’t get a good picture of her little teeth!
