Ah ~ if it wasn’t the little one known as Zazu. Such a weird little fellow he was, most small animals they’d watched seemed rather easily scared by any old predator, but this one…. this one was different. He had shown a certain level of bravery, one that you could not help but admire. This was why the Zimwi was so interested in him.

Usually all they'd do was follow animals around, making small, eerie noises to give themself away. A slip of the foot here, a clatter of rocks, a broken twig... purposefully making them feel paranoid that they could be being followed... they could do the same with Zazu, but they had other plans. They wanted to judge his bravery first-hand and they just so happened to know the best experience to make it happen. The something, or better yet…. someone, every Pridelander seemed to fear deep down.

With that, the Zimwi’s shape started to alter. True, it wasn’t exactly a perfect replica of the original, but what could you expect from a creature that’s made of mere shadow? Besides, when an animal seemed to have returned from the dead in the dark of night just to haunt you... would you really notice the difference? 

“Zazu, just the little birdie I was looking for...” toxic yellow and green eyes glowed from the darkness,  quickly followed with the wide, toothed-grin of a lion..
