Claudia was doing it on purpose. Alexia watched her as she sat on Salma's lap, giggling about something she was showing her on her phone, her pretty smile directed towards someone other than herself.

Alexia knew she was being punished, in a childish petty way. Claudia was pissed at being denied more of their illicit activities, since Alexia insisted their one off in the hotel room had been a unique mistake that would not happen again.

She should be happy Claudia was finding someone else to be with, but jealousy was blinding her completely.

Alexia needed a full intervention, if she wanted to keep her dignity and reputation. A twenty year old starlet could not be the end of her.

The worst thing was, it was starting to be obvious. The night before, Irene had looked at her with an arched eyebrow and the knowing curl in her lips of a woman that was being lied to her face, when Alexia said nothing was going on with Claudia.

She obviously ended up caving. Irene was not necessarily approving, but she didn't blow off at her either.

"Sometimes we want thing that we can't have," she told her. "Be wise, capi."

Alexia hated how much that nickname reminded her of Claudia and what happened between them.

"Capi?" Alexia shot her gaze back to Claudia, who had left Salma's lap to approach her silently. "Can you take me home, please?"

"Can't Salma do it?" Alexia didn't mean to be rude, but as they got closer, Claudia started to get lifts almost exclusively from Salma.

"She's got family stuff she can't be late for."

"Ah."

Alexia should come up with an excuse. Say she also had something with her family or a dentist appointment. But just as it was unprofessional to sleep with her players as a captain, it was to avoid them at all costs.

So she ended up leading Claudia to her car, heart risen to her throat as she watched the youngster buckle up her seat belt. They had been in this situation cuntless times, but this was the first since they had... well, Alexia did not want to think about it too hard.

It would get her in trouble.

Claudia didn't seem to care about the tension—or percieve it at all—as she connected her phone to the Bluetooth to put her own playlist, humming one song or another.

"You've been avoiding me," she stated calmly.

"I—" Alexia didn't want to deny it, it would only add gasloghting to the list of crimen she had committed up until now. "We should keep a profesional distance. That is what I'm trying to do."

"Bullshit."

"I'm sorry?"

"I said bullshit."

Claudia's eyes were blazing with emotion.

"You want me. I can see it." Claudia's whole body was turned towards Alexia.

"Claudia we..."

"No. You. All our issues are actually your fears." Fire started filling Alexia's veins. "You're just a coward. You don't have the balls to take what you wan—"

Alexia took the wrong turn, and began driving in direction to her home, not Claudia's. It was closer and it had private parking. And her bed was there, if things escalated. Which theye were going to.

"What—"

"Silence."

Claudia gulped, the fight gone from her body. Alexia might have skipped a few traffic laws in order to get them there sooner, parking in her garden and exiting the car immediately. She swung open the passengers door, grabbing Claudia by the arm and quite literally dragging her inside.

The girl had very little time to stare at her surroundings and drink in Alexia's living space, before they reached the bedroom. She was not going to cower under Alexia's wrath, though. With a quick turn, that drove rival players insane, Claudia got on her tip toes and kissed Alexia, relishing in the way the captain returned the kiss.

But a sharp slap hit her ass.

"You need to be taught a lesson on repeat," decided Alexia. "I am your captain. For better or for worse. You will address me as such."

"Yes, capi," she breathed. Alexia gasped. She was still not used to that fucking nickname coming out of Claudia's pretty pink lips.

Still, she was not deterred. Alexia helped Claudia strip, who obeyed without protest, too enthralled by Alexia's sudden burst of passion. It was what she had been hoping for, by being a little more touchy with Salma than was necessary.

Once she was completely nude, Alexia sat on her bed, still dressed. She palmed her lap a clear non-verbal order. Claudia draped herself across her thighs, her ass right in front of Alexia, who squeezed one cheek.

"I presume you already know what is going to happen, you've been hoping for it, haven't you?"

"Yes, capi."

"You wanted this?" A harsh slap fell on the cheek she had been groping.

"Yes, capi."

"You understand this is a punishment, not a reward?"

"Yes, capi."

Another harsh slap on the other thigh.

"I would give you a count, but I don't want you to know how much is left."

Claudia gasped. It was as if Alexia already knew what she needed. The onslaught on her ass was non stopping. Tears were streaming down her cheeks, as she cried out. Claudia loved it.

Once her vision was blurry, and her throat was dry, Alexia's hand returned to gently squeeze the reddened skin.

"You were good, baby," she praised.

"Thank you, capi."

Claudia woke up later that evening. The sun was long gone, there was a dull throb on her backside, that had been clearly treated for the bruises with cream. A blanket was thrown over her body, and Alexia was sitting in silence by the foot of the bed.

"Capi?" she called with a stuttering voice.

"Are you okay?"

"Yeah?"

"Are you sure?"

Alexia's face was lined with worry. Claudia's body tensed, as if she could feel the thoughts swirling through her captain's head.

"Yeah," she whispered. "I really liked it, earlier. I—"

"It should not happen again."

Ah.

Claudia knew this would happen, in the back of her mind. Alexia clearly wanted her, there were already two instances of her doing exactly what she said they shouldn't, but the rejection still stung.

"Oh, c'mon. It's not a bad thing, I know you're hungry up with the age difference, and the captain thing, but I'm sure there is a way for HR to—"

"I said no, Claudia."

"Alright."

Furiously, Claudia got up from the bed, quickly finding her clothes and putting them on, even if it ached in the bruised areas of her ass. If Alexia still insisted she didn't want her, then Caludia would not beg forever.

"Wait, let me wash you up and make you some dinner at le—"

"No!" Interrupted Cludia with tears of frustration streaming down her face. "You don't get to reject me and then have aftercare. If you want to be all sweet and attentive, then fucking date me!"

Alexia looked hurt, but Caludia didn't care, storming off the house.

Summary: With the situation tensing up, you find yourself at a loss. You had to keep Prince Beomgyu distracted whilst Taehyun worked his magic with your escape plan.

While Beomgyu toys with you, you play the reluctant damsel in distress hoping to the gods above he doesn’t find it suspicious. His sly smiles, the way his fingers brush against yours, against your waist as you both dangerously waltz wearing masks of deceit.

Though amongst your stress, you didn’t expect to reunite with your beloved knight.

“You know, I don’t get why you’ve been searching around? You can ask for my help, I know these cabinets inside out,” Soobin murmurs puzzled as he watches Taehyun whizz around the room rummaging through the drawers and cabinets.

The two sorcerers keep each other company in the Sorcerer’s Chambers in Luna’s Palace. Taehyun peers back at his satchel rummaging through it and brings out a small worn-out book. It was a small notebook that contained the last of his father’s spells that his father wrote down before he passed as well as spells that Taehyun created on his own.

His father had written the spell for teleportation, for emergency use. Who knew he’d be using it for such a situation? His eyes flicker across the scrawled handwriting on the pages as he checks the ingredients and design of the mana circle.

He’d have to double the size of the circle and add a few more nodes, but it should be possible to teleport two people; though it was clear, it was going to take an immense amount of power. He didn’t know whether he’d be okay afterwards.

Taehyun wasn’t exactly keen on revealing his plans to Soobin either, after all, he did work as Beomgyu’s royal sorcerer apprentice. What if he told him either by blurting it out or out of loyalty? Soobin had always been rather genuine and naive from a young age. Though, a tiny hint of guilt permeates Taehyun in deceiving his friend. Perhaps, he’d tell Soobin later on nearer to the time; or he’d let Soobin piece it together himself.

Taehyun ascertains which materials he’s found here and rummages in his satchel once more much to Soobin’s confusion. As he rummages, a glistening ring tumbles out, clinking against the wooden table and bouncing down against the cobbled floor and rolling away. Y/n’s ring!

Taehyun’s eyes widen as a gasp escapes his lips. Fortunately, the ring topples over beside Soobin’s foot as he picks it up admiring the intricate design of the heavy ring. “Pretty expensive ring, heavy too? Where’d you get something like this?”

“None of your business,” Taehyun huffs, walking over and attempting to snatch it. The ring glimmers under the candlelight beautifully. The ring you gave to him before you both got stuck in this mess. Soobin’s eyes teasingly glimmer as he raises the ring above Taehyun’s height. He hums, “Wait, wait…is it from Princess Y/n? It is, isn’t it! Look at your face!”

Soobin cackles as an angry yet flustered expression coats Taehyun’s visage. “No- just give it here, it’s valuable!” Taehyun grumbles. “Goodness! Your expression is priceless, this is the first time I’ve ever seen you caught off guard!” Soobin laughs. Taehyun crosses his arms averting his gaze as a small hue of pink dusts his cheeks.

“The ring is rather small for your hands anyway, very dainty but heavy. Must be real gold. She gave you this? So you guys do have something going on, huh?” Soobin teases.

Taehyun grunts, “She just felt guilty about me helping her with no monetary compensation so she gave it to me.” He attempts to snatch it once more, “Anyway, don’t be delusional, Soobin. Not like anything will happen, I’m just helping her. After all this shit is over, she won’t bat an eyelid at me.”

Soobin pouts, “Oh don’t say that, the princess seems rather fond of you.” Taehyun shrugs and Soobin hands him back the ring much to Taehyun’s relief. “I’d have turned you into a fucking toad, if you dropped this or damaged it,” he snarks making Soobin snort loudly.

“So…what’s with the specific choice of ring?” Soobin grins mischievously. “Don’t read too much into it you fool, she was so insistent on paying me, so she gave me this ring,” Taehyun mutters. “You’ve still kept it, a royal ring could have you set for half of your life. Why didn’t you sell it?” Soobin questions with a playful smirk.

A flicker of hesitation crosses Taehyun’s face and Soobin muses, “Oh? Not planning to sell it at all then?”

Taehyun scoffs, “Shut up, not like I’ll have a chance. I’ll probably be back in the woods after all this. Just…something to keep as a souvenir, I guess.” A knowing look appears on Soobin’s face, “Okay, whatever you say then.” Taehyun merely rolls his eyes at his implicative tone.

Soobin hums in thought, “You’d lose that tiny thing if you’re not careful. Why don’t I get you some yarn or wool. I think I’ve got some-“ He walks off rummaging through some small cabinets. Taehyun’s eyes narrow, “What?”

Soobin walks over holding some black yarn, “Here, you can thread the yarn through the ring and then maybe tie it to something, I don’t know.”

Cutting a long piece off, Taehyun threads the yarn through the ring as he dangles it in front of himself peering at the beautiful accessory. Memories of your face fills his mind, your precious laugh, snarky remarks and glimmering big eyes. The genuineness in your tone when you handed this to him, thinking he’d leave you behind in Luna.

Without thinking, he takes the two ends and loops it around his neck, and ties the ends together forming a necklace with the ring hooped onto it. A spark of surprise flashes on Soobin’s face and he smirks, “You have feelings for her.” Taehyun grunts, “Fuck off. Nothing’s going to happen.”

Soobin shrugs, “You're helping her, it’s a noble pursuit, I'm sure she appreciates that a lot. I don’t know, never say never.” Taehyun deadpans. Soobin gleams, “And you’re in denial, it’s quite clear.”

Taehyun merely groans scavenging back in his satchel for his notebook. He begins placing all the items necessary on the wooden table. “I still don’t get what you’re doing?” Soobin asks. Taehyun snorts, “Good.” Soobin huffs, “Huh?”

Taehyun’s gaze scans across the table of items and flickers back to his notebook, “Seems we need to get some more items. Since I can’t quite go out at the moment, since there guards around, and well, the prince insists on our safety. Do you mind getting the things I write down?”

“Uh…sure? But why are you suddenly doing this?” Soobin questions. Taehyun hesitates, “There’s a spell I want to teach you. But I need your help.”

“What spell is it?” Soobin questions confused. Taehyun muses dryly, “You’ll get it as we go along.” Well, Soobin was never one to turn down helping someone.

“You seem rather discomforted,” Beomgyu muses. You peer down at his arm hooked around yours at your side as you walk together, “I am.” A chuckle escapes his lips, “I appreciate your honesty, you know that?”

“As I was saying, I believe we can skip the usual engagement ball and go straight into the marriage ceremony. Things will be much more efficient and we can then head forth with our plan to take your position back, no?” You nod bored; for the last half an hour the prince insisted you walk with him; all he’s been doing is irritating you with conversation of marriage preparations.

“If you’d like, I can leave the more tedious matters such as invitations, decorations and such to you.” You glance around the grand hallway as you walk and drawl, “How joyous.”

He muses, “I can see you’re brimming with enthusiasm, love.” You grimace, making him chuckle.

As you continue walking, your eyes catch light of a magnificent set of large doors intricately painted and set with architectural flourishes. Beomgyu peers at you with a smirk, “Curious are we? Come.” He guides you through the large doors and your eyes widen recognising the humongous ballroom.

You remember coming here as a child! However, it’s been renovated in a more contemporary style - it’s stunning. Beomgyu regards you with an amused expression, “Not as dull as Fortuna’s ballroom, is it?” You scoff, “Oh hush.”

You walk ahead observing the beauty of the ballroom in which the golden light of the sunset filters in through the larger glass panes. Beomgyu’s sparkle with mischief as he suddenly outstretches his hand, “Love, would you care to dance?” You bite your lip in hesitation, you couldn’t be too much of a stickler.

With a huff, you take his hand and he brings the back of your hand to his lips with a teasing gaze, “Thank you, your highness.” He finds you rather endearing, keeping your composure, your dislike for him aside and going along with his little games. He enjoyed seeing your little reactions here and there.

He tugs you forward with a few inches separating you and his other hand slides around your waist; in an almost intimate fashion. The sunset glows against his skin making him look like a deity. Only the echoes of your footsteps resound out eerily as you dance together.

“Are you worried about marrying me? I assure you I will not meddle in your affairs,” he pauses with a smirk, “Well not too much that is.” You scoff as you waltz in the silence, “I find that rather hard to believe, but not like I have much of a choice,” you mutter.

He’s delighted by your answer and hums, spinning the both of you two around, “Come now, you’re painting me to be some sort of villain.”

“Are you not?” You ask, peering into his eyes and he matches your intense gaze, “Am I not your Prince Charming; coming to save you? Save you from a life without a title, from execution?”

You scoff lowly, “You’re manipulative-“ He chides playfully, “I prefer the term, persuasive.”

Beomgyu’s hand slides further down your waist and his grip on your hand tightens, “I don’t see what you’re so anxious about. I won’t be treating you like a slave. No, rather you’ll be spoiled, more than you were in Fortuna. Buy to your heart's desire, make yourself look pretty, roam around or stay inside, do as you please.”

You frown, maybe you’d be tempted if you already liked him. Yet your heart ached. You really hope Taehyun was making progress; Beomgyu was becoming more insufferable by the second.

Beomgyu muses, “Ah yes, I forgot you wish to have love in your marriage. Is that it? Is that why you’re so averse to this?” You scoff peering away. A chuckle escapes his lips, “What a cute notion. Though, I don’t mind humouring you.”

Glaring, you respond, “No love at all is better than a false concept of love.” Beomgyu hums amused by your answer as he leans closer; his breath caresses your face, “Come now, I never said it was impossible. Perhaps you’ll win me over, one day. Try hard enough, and perhaps I’ll willingly give my heart into your hands and shower you with my affections.”

His fingers squeeze yours as he steps forward and you step back accordingly, waltzing, a tension permeates the air between you two. Your eyes locked onto each other in a heated battle of mind and wits.

“Shower you with gifts, as my queen. Parade you around to my heart’s content, isn’t that nice?” He murmurs his breath fanning your ear. “Like a mere prize?” You seethe lowly. “Exactly, are you not my pretty prize? My consolation for Luna’s retreat in battle all those years ago?”

You murmur, “To think I once admired you, how naive. Thought you charming.” Beomgyu muses, spinning the both of you around once more, “Are you hurt by that still? Come now, I’m showing you my truest self now, no?”

Before you can make any remark; your moment is shattered as a guard rushes in, “Sire, a squadron of knights from Fortuna has just arrived. The Royal Commander wishes to meet with you. Would you like to greet them or shall I send them here?”

Your blood runs cold. No, no. They were here to haul you away! This couldn’t be happening! Beomgyu peers over at you with a smirk, “My, you’ve gone pale. Don’t go fainting on me now, I’m here. There’s nothing going to get in the way of me marrying you. Don’t fret.”

Beomgyu replies, “Send just the commander here. Make haste.” The guard nods rushing out instantly. Your thoughts run wild; the commander. Wait…Kai? He’s here?

Beomgyu hums, squeezing your hand, “Let me handle it, I won’t let them take you away from me, alright? They’re here on my territory.” His twisted sense of reassurance sends shivers through you. He moves a strand of hair from your face with a sly gaze and you scoff averting your eyes. “How cold you are to me, love,” Beomgyu muses.

The clatter of armor reverberates and your heart palpitates in anticipation. The grandiose doors open and you spot a painfully familiar visage. His soft eyes meet yours and you pry your hand out of Beomgyu’s as your legs automatically take into a sprint towards him.

Nostalgia and blissful feelings all return at once as you rush to him with your arms outstretched, teary-eyed. Hueningkai opens his arms wide as you run into his arms, embracing him tightly. You missed him, someone who had been by your side for ages.

Despite him following Sehun’s orders, he gave you the key to escape your cell and pointed you towards an escape route. You knew he would never truly betray you. He must have been forced, after all, he was the royal commander.

You peer up at his face and your eyes widen upon spotting a scar that presents itself on his upper cheek. You cup his face with watering eyes, “Kai, what happened?” Your gaze shakes and you splutter, “Was it S-Sehun?” Hueningkai removes your hand off his cheek; it hurts you. His silence tells you everything.

Enraged, you snarl, “That bastard! How dare he lay his blade upon you? What have you done to deserve such a punishment? Goodness, it must have hurt so much. Is it because of me? Because you let me escape?”

Hueningkai murmurs, “He doesn’t know that, otherwise I wouldn’t be standing here alive before you, princess.” You shudder and you frown. He resumes, “It was my mere incompetence. He’s become a tyrant, unstable, arrogant.”

Beomgyu snorts behind you as he walks over, “How predictable.” Hueningkai bows before continuing, “The kingdom and its people are in a restless state. Yeonjun has become Sehun’s most trusted aide, as his personal advisor.”

Dread fills your senses, that was awful news. “The coronation fastly approaches.” Kai reaches into his satchel and brings out an intricate scroll, “Thus, here I am, Prince Beomgyu, to extend an invitation to his majesty’s coronation.”

Beomgyu muses taking the scroll, “How quaint. Stealing the throne off his beloved sibling, how crude. Why should I attend such an event?” You roll your eyes; as if he was morally any better?

You enquire, “What is Sehun like now?” Hueningkai answers, “His demeanor is constantly changing; he’s stable one moment, paranoid the next. Increasingly agitated, sometimes even fearful. Perhaps, it’s the pressure, I’m not sure, princess.” His response befuddles you, what was troubling Sehun? Was Yeonjun up to something?

Unease fills you as your thoughts whirr in your mind. Beomgyu hums, “I’m sure you’re not just here to give me an invite, no?” He gestures to you with a sly smile, “Surely, he’s looking for his sister.” Your heart launches up into your throat.

“Kai…you’re not here to take me back right?” His expression drops as he murmurs, “Sehun told us to negotiate with Prince Beomgyu, to take you back. After all, you have a bounty on you.” You lifelessly peer at him. You couldn’t even be mad at him, he was just following orders. Hueningkai seems to pick up on your distress as he murmurs, “I’m a coward, I know.”

“You’re not,” you softly say.

“I am, I can’t even take your damn side! I’m trapped, I can’t just swing my blade at Sehun, I cannot protect you, my duty was to protect you,” Hueningkai snaps to himself, angered. He felt that he was useless.

His eyes glaze over, “I’m forced to follow his orders, princess. Otherwise, you damn well know, I’d have taken your side in a heartbeat.” He shakily resumes, “But…my family. He’s using my family against me. I can’t let anything happen to them. To my mother, my sisters.”

Your heart drops as your hands shake. Sehun…you will pay for your sins. A tear drips down your face seeing your beloved knight this vulnerable. “I understand, I do not blame you, Kai.”

“The way you looked so broken those nights in your cell, I…I thought you hated me. I wished the earth would swallow me whole,” Kai rasps. You murmur, “You helped me escape, that in itself was a bold move. That told me your loyalty to me still remains.”

You take his hands and peer at him with a determined gaze, “Protect your family, Kai. They come first. Don’t worry about me, I’ve…I’ve enlisted the help I need.” He peers down at your hands, “I’m sorry, I couldn’t be the man you wanted me to be.” His words shake you to your core; all sorts of past feelings and reminiscent memories flood your mind. Your heart aches.

Beomgyu clears his throat loudly peering down at your hands and Hueningkai pulls them away, “Apologies, your highness.”

“No need to fret, I believe I’ve ascertained the nature of your relationship,” Beomgyu snarks as he grasps your hand.

“Anyway, back to the matter at hand. Your ruler wishes to take my betrothed only to execute her? I think not,” Beomgyu hums and you grimace; how flawlessly he could put on an act as if he wasn’t using you.

Hueningkai stiffens, “Sorry, your highness? Betrothed?” You stammer, “Not official-“

“We’ll be getting married, isn’t that right, love?” Beomgyu peers down at you, squeezing your hand like a vice.

You mutter as Kai’s expression becomes appalled, “It’s out of circumstance, don’t think too much into it.” Infuriated, Hueningkai snaps, “You said you wished to marry for love? You already rejected his betrothal proposal years ago!” Beomgyu glares unamused at him.

How you wished to let Kai know this was a mere facade, an orchestrated plan yet you didn’t want to spoil your ruse. With a sigh you respond, “I have no choice, Kai. Beomgyu is the only person who can help me attain my throne back. I’ll have political power once I marry him, and he can officially enter Fortuna on diplomatic grounds,” you grit out, “I trust him.”

A small mocking laugh escapes Beomgyu’s lips. Hueningkai stares at you dumbfounded but says nothing. “Trust me, Kai,” you urge and he sighs, “I…I cannot persuade you. I know how stubborn you are.”

You ponder, his task was to take you back. If he turned up empty-handed to Sehun…oh no! You stammer, “How are you going to return without me? No- actually, stay here Kai. It’s safer for you here. We need all the help-“

Hueningkai murmurs with a pained smile, “I wish I could, but my family, princess. He’ll stop their monthly benefits, slaughter them even, then come for me.” You remain silent. “I have to return, face my punishment. For the sake of my family. Truthfully, I came to deliver the invitation and had no intention of bringing you back. It gave me solace actually that you were far away. Safe. So you could start anew.”

His words touch you deeply; his tone is lifeless, as if he’s given up on everything. “Sehun…who knows what that tyrant will do to you?” You frown.

A moment of tense silence passes as Kai finally replies with a defeated smile, “I’ll handle it. He cannot be so hasty to get rid of his finest commander, no?” His words offer you no reassurance, no, in fact he’s deflecting.

Kai’s eyes meeting Beomgyu’s, “I’m sure the Prince will fervently help you. More than I can.” Oh, if only you knew Kai…

“I admire your honour, your bravery,” Beomgyu hums, peering at Kai. “You are indeed a fine knight. I do hope Sehun does not punish you so severely but rather I hope we meet in better circumstances. Perhaps you can work for me, instead.”

Kai looks down at the floor hesitantly, “Of course, your highness. I wish you both the best of luck in your pursuits.”

Anxiety courses through you, surely Sehun wouldn’t be deranged enough to kill Kai? No…no way. He’d be fine, Kai was capable, persuasive, charming. He would be fine, wounded seriously but fine. Right? Nothing he couldn’t handle?

“Don’t worry about me, Princess. I know what you’re like. Don’t lose sleep over me, you got that?” He chuckles placing a hand atop your head, as he did in the past. Something about his forlorn expression hurt you deeply. It was almost as if he was letting you go. For good.

“A moment, alone, Beomgyu.” You request Beomgyu to leave the two of you be, and with great reluctance, he leaves walking away.

The sunset dimly illuminates his chiselled features. That face once would make your cheeks warm and your gaze lock onto his. However, this time it doesn’t. You don’t know why. Those precious feelings, you once held dear in your heart, seemed like a forlorn memory. Another face flashes in your mind; pale blond locks, sharp eyes and a snarky smile, handsome features. Taehyun.

You shake your head as your heart beats rapidly and you find yourself becoming breathless. A painful realisation comes to fruition, your feelings for your beloved knight were but a thing of the past. Looking at the way, he was gazing at you dully, you sensed it was the same for him.

“Kai, did you ever…see me as more than just your princess, more than just bound by duty?” You ask lowly. He gives you a sad smile peering out at the darkening sky, “I think you know the answer, princess.” You both remain quiet and you shakily murmur, “Why didn’t you say anything?”

“What good would it do, I’m your knight. That is all. You are royalty,” Kai responds. “Right. But…what about now?” You ask tentatively.

His eyes glimmer in melancholy as he speaks, “I…I’ve come to realise over the last month or so, I am not worthy of you. You deserve better, your highness. Someone, who can put themselves in harms way, not bound by fear or responsibility. More powerful than I. Someone who can challenge the norms. Not a coward like me.” He breathes out, “I’ve failed my duty as a knight the moment, Sehun shook my hand and requested me to help imprison you at the time of the decree.”

“I wish to dedicate myself in protecting my loved ones. In that, I cannot protect you; I chose my family over you.” Kai murmurs solemnly. You stand there frowning; he had given you up. You wanted to say, you liked him once too. But, you decide, to save him from more misery, to not disclose such information.

“Don’t feel as though you are a failure, Kai. You will forever be my most loyal and heroic knight and above all, my closest friend. March proudly back to Fortuna, stand tall regardless of what Sehun does,” you utter.

You step forward peering into his umber eyes, “Wait for me. To serve me once more, under my rule when I return. Just trust me.” Kai’s eyes water for a moment before he restrains himself. Clearing his throat he steps back, “Of course, I only await good things.” You smile at him as he does to you.

“I’ll be fine,” he whispers under his breath. “I know you will,” you whisper back. With a shared nod, he steps back bellowing out to Beomgyu, “Your highness, thank you for your time. I will be taking my men and promptly leaving your residence. My men and I will reach Fortuna by tomorrow evening.”

Beomgyu walks over pleased, “Safe travels, I do hope to see you next time.” Hueningkai nods, giving you a final glance as he walks out of the ballroom doors. A warm emptiness fills you.

The sun finally melts into the horizon slowly dimming the ballroom into a darkness with you and Beomgyu standing beside each other.

“You seem to just steal everyone’s heart, hm?” Beomgyu muses. You say nothing, still burdened by Kai’s departure. “Oh don’t look too sad, do not tell me you reciprocate that knight’s feelings?”

You snap; “He doesn’t…have feelings for me.” Beomgyu chuckles, “I saw the way he looked at you. Any man can see it clear as day.” You murmur, “Not anymore. It was but a memory.”

Beomgyu hums amused, taking your hand guiding you towards the doors out of the ballroom and into the candle-lit hallway, “Perhaps, you will enlighten me of that memory after our marriage.”

A groan escapes your lips as he chuckles, “Oh how adorable you are in your reluctance.” You both walk together as he hums, “Your kingdom seems to be in quite the shambles.”

“I’m aware,” you grit out. Beomgyu hums, “Once getting into Fortuna, removing your pitiful brother off the throne and crowning your pretty little head with your rightful crown, everything should naturally fall into place.”

His condescension irks you and a scoff escapes your lips. “I can imagine it, the two kingdoms with such turmoiled history uniting, how historic, no?”“I suppose,” you mutter dryly.

You notice his jaw tighten and a squeal escapes your lips as you're suddenly pushed against the wall.

Beomgyu’s hand lands beside your head as he steps forward with a smirk; his dark brown locks fall across his forehead, brushing against his lashes in a manner that makes him look predatory. “As much as I enjoy our back and forth; your little glares; huffs and scoffs, I do hope you can put on an act in front of my people, especially yours.”

“I’d like to find that rather than appearing dry and unromantic is not an ideal way to win over a kingdom of people. Rather…a princess who lost her title, ran to her ally kingdom, where a charming prince whisked her to safety, and they fell in love. How does that story sound? I’m sure the newspapers will love it, no?” He coos.

Your eyes widen, “You’re deranged to think they’ll believe that.” His lips form a twisted smile, “You’re forgetting the kingdoms are full of uneducated peasants.” Your gaze darkens; he truly didn’t care.

“So you can huff and whine, as much as you like, within closed doors. In fact, I rather enjoy it. But I do implore you to put on your prettiest acting face in front of the public and other nobles, hm?”

Beomgyu leans in closer making your breath hitch; your eyes flicker to his lips, a mere few inches away from yours. A shiver runs through you as his eyes spark, “Oh? What’s this?”

“Are you scared or…are you enjoying my proximity, hm? Tell me y/n?” A teasing tone drips from his luscious lips. He leans closer and you snap your head to your right, away from his face.

A husky chuckle resounds from him as his deep voice brushes against your ear, “Do not tell me, you’re afraid of a little close proximity? Your shaky breaths, dilated pupils, trembling body,” he muses, “My, my, what would my maids think if any of them turned the corner into this hallway, hm?”

You scoff shoving him aside, “Have some decorum; your highness. We are not married.”“Yet,” he grins. “I merely tease, your expressions are fascinating,” Beomgyu hums, brushing past you, “Anyway; let me escort you to your chambers. You must be emotionally exhausted, no?”

You mutter, “Oh believe me, I am.”

He asks, “Oh, where’s your little traveling companion of yours? I have not seen him all day. Are you two still squabbling?” You murmur, “I don’t know, he’s not spoken to me,” you feign a frown, “I…I saw him earlier pacing around. I want to apologise to him.”

Beomgyu laughs, “Apologise? Do not be absurd, you are royalty and he is but a sorcerer, an exiled one at that. In fact, I believe now is the best time to send him off. He serves no purpose here.”

You try to contain your angered composure and you murmur most earnestly, “I..I know. But I want to leave things off on a good note. Just let me try to talk to him and send him off on a good note, Beomgyu. Please.”

His eyes meet yours with a flicker of hesitation before he curtly hums, “Do as you wish, however pointless it may be.”

A knowing smile graces your lips as you look ahead. Good. That’s what you wanted to hear. Taehyun, stay strong. Keep trying.

“What is your pretty little head thinking about?” Taehyun. You murmur, “Nothing, I’m just exhausted.”

Beomgyu’s lips form a sly smile, “Let’s keep it that way, hm. Now come, off to your chambers we go.”

Summary: They're in high school it's modern au, the most dramatic thing that happens is that they know Walburga Black in person, who's trying to be an influencer. This is the cutest tombraxas I've ever written and I love it so gosh dang much. They're just so soft with each other and they love each other like lovesick teenagers can. Tom is a lil repressed and scared because he's a foster kid and Abraxas is a nepo baby and that's bound to create problems, but Abraxas is just so SAFE for Tom.

To this day I believe I've peaked with this writing and that I'll never write anything funnier. Take the Riddle era kids, age them up, and shove them in a no magic office au. I'm laughing as I'm writing this honestly every time I remember this fic I giggle.

Voldemort dies as per canon but he winds up in a hellish world devoid of colour and his senses. As he travels farther and farther out and gains more of his senses, it isn't until he finds Abraxas that colour returns to his life. I like this fic a lot.

THE CHANGELING

Tom Marvolo Riddle (the human) is switched at birth with a fairy changeling. The Fairy AS TOM RIDDLE grows up in muggle london and goes to Hogwarts and has a liaison with Abraxas and becomes Voldemort and all that. Meanwhile Tom Riddle (the human) grows up in the Fairy world and fucks shit up for the Unseelie Queen. I like the prose in this one a lot.

AWARENESS

Voldemort and Abraxas in this fic are not endgame but they are together. Endgame for Voldemort is finally being happy and healthy. For Abraxas it's Minerva. The two of them are still very much clearly codependant on each other and very open, and they do fuck.

FUN FACT: The very first fic Abraxas ever appears in my writing, the one that set the precedent for all the other Abraxas in my works FIRST APPEARED IN Retired Prometheus - the LONGEST TOMBRAXAS FIC WRITTEN ON FFNET AND AO3 to date. This fic has truly taught me so much about writing. These two in this fic are so deeply convoluted and yet in love with each other in a very toxis way. I adore them. I adore the messiness, the codependence, the nobody will ever love you as I love you, my love for you is monstrous, but that's fine, I'll love you with all of my monstrous being. Everything that you see in the fics listed above this one CAME as a direct influence Retired Prometheus had on me. This is the OG. This is the abyss that stared at me and had me churning out Tombraxas fics for YEARS. This is the, even though I'm a terrible human being, I deserve to be loved, too, and nobody can do it better than you, you, Hercules, who've come to rescue me from myself, from my punishment from the Gods.

which Harry Potter characters do you think you’d get along with in real life? Not necessarily your favorites or the ones you like the most but the ones you think could actually be friends with

I've been thinking about this question for days because it's really hard for me to separate my opinion of the characters from a more personal perspective, but I think I’ve got a few answers.

I would’ve gotten along really well with Lavender and the Patil twins, especially because they have that energy of girls who love horoscopes and girly stuff. I absolutely love having people like that in my life because you can hang out, have some wine, and talk about silly things like in Sex and the City. Maybe they wouldn’t have been my best friends or part of my usual group, but they seem like fun girls you can relax with and have light-hearted conversations. We would’ve read those silly Witch Weekly quizzes together and gone to Divination class, having a blast because I’m a horoscope girl who loves talking about Mercury retrograde, and they totally give off that vibe. So, 100% match for me.

I think I would’ve gotten along well with Fleur too, because she has that vibe of a snooty French girl who seems stuck-up but is actually super sweet and caring. I love girls like that—sassy and a bit unpleasant on the surface, but with good hearts. Most of my friends are very Fleur-coded, so maybe that’s why I’m always defending her when people say Ginny had a right to be mean to her (Ginny both as a character and as a type of girl really gets on my nerves). It might’ve been tough at first because French people can be... special, but since I’ve lived in France, I know how to handle them. I’d totally be that friend telling Fleur that her future mother-in-law is a nightmare and not to care about her because she’s a queen and a goddess, and Molly Weasley can take a hike. Basically, the same advice I always give my friends: "You're too pretty to care about what others think" (I’m the best psychologist, lol).

I probably wouldn’t have been friends with Luna, but I think I’d have liked her from a distance. She’s so unapologetically herself, and I respect that a lot. I don’t think we’d have formed a deep bond, but there would’ve been mutual respect. The same goes for Cho—friendly but not close. We’d have chatted occasionally, supported each other after Cedric’s death, and shared a good rapport without becoming actual friends.

I think I would’ve liked McGonagall as a teacher. I love elegant older women who are very strict—they command my respect. I have trouble recognizing male authority figures, but women like her would’ve earned my respect easily. I would’ve admired how badass and cool she is, especially as a teenager.

If it weren’t for her being a classist and supremacist, I probably would’ve thought Narcissa Malfoy was a MILF icon. Like, “If I ever become a mom, I want to be that elegant and stunning at 40.” Honestly, even with her awful personality, I’d probably still think that. Something about elegant middle-aged women really resonates with me—I hope I have that kind of presence and poise when I hit my 40s.

I’m realizing I’m only talking about women, but I’m a girl’s girl, and men generally give me mental gangrene—especially straight men. Canonically, 99% of the men in the series are straight and unpleasant in very masculine, off-putting ways. I’d like to say I’d have been friends with Severus, but let’s be real—he would’ve been more of a sexual attraction than anything else. It’s basic and cliché, but he’s 100% my type. Even as a teacher, I would’ve found his grumpiness entertaining. So he doesn’t count here because I’m talking about potential friendships, not crushes. If we're talking crushes, though, my therapist knows that unstable men with severe emotional issues are exactly my type.

As for other guys... maybe Harry, but not as a close friend—more like a friendly acquaintance. He wouldn’t have annoyed me, but we wouldn’t have had much in common. His life revolved around Quidditch, and I would’ve found that painfully boring. I would’ve hated Quidditch culture and thought people obsessed with it were basic and mentally stunted. But personality-wise, he would’ve been fine—a decent guy, just a bit dense at times but generally good-hearted.

And Sirius... if he hadn’t been a bully and a spoiled rich kid playing progressive, he probably would’ve been a fun party friend. Not someone for a deep friendship (those can exist in platonic relationships too), but definitely the guy you call when you want to go out and have a wild night but no one else is available. He seems like the type you’d hang out with and say, “Let’s go home early tonight,” only to wake up 200 kilometers away at a rave with no idea how you got there. But that’s assuming he wasn’t a bully, because if I’d seen him being awful, I wouldn’t have wanted to be within 10 kilometers of him.

Harry Potter

I'm only going to bother listing off the at least somewhat present characters. We're not going to talk about shop keepers who have two lines one time or someone who just gets mentioned offscreen.

Neville Longbottom

Neville's a good kid and kind of the Charlie Brown of the series. Just, god, this kid puts up with so much shit even from those who are supposed to kind of be his friends.

However, I can never remember him ever being remotely awful even in a normal teenage way. He's just a really nice kid who has shitty teenage friends.

Luna Lovegood

Luna's a bit strange but also suffers from the seeming to be a good kid with shitty friends syndrome. Especially when those friends are worse to her than they are to Neville (quite the accomplishment). Luna should have blown her lid years ago but takes it all in stride even when Ron, Harry, and Hermione are actively making fun of her to her face.

God, Luna, I'm so sorry.

Fleur Delacour

Fleur is standoffish to Harry at first, but it's reasonable given the position she's in, her age at the time, and that it looks like Hogwarts favoritism. However, to me she generally acts nice and like a very decent person, even when the Weasleys are giving her constant hell for daring to date Bill.

Viktor Krum

Viktor seems like a nice enough guy. We don't see too much of him but he's friendly, approachable, he and Hermione have a great time at the dance and brief romance and every bad thing he ever did turned out to be him getting imperiused.

Twilight

Charlie Swan

Charlie has some serious flaws and some issues when it comes to seeing Jacob clearly/disregarding his daughter but he does genuinely seem to try his best and have her best interests at heart.

Billy Black

Billy, you poor man. In every instant Billy is trying to do right by his son, his people, his friends, or Bella and he comes off a superstitious madman, an old man who has no idea what he's talking about and the Cullens are amazing, or someone who doesn't understand.

Jessica Stanley

Jessica's a gossip and a teenage girl but she goes out of her way to do right by all of her friends. We don't see too much with the other girls, as Bella... cares about Bella, but she goes above and beyond for Bella when none of her other friends are there for her.

She nopes out (as she should have when hanging around Bella became dangerous for her) but she hangs out with Bella later when Bella's... stabilized and never brings up what happened.

Beautifully repaid for this by Edward and Bella both thinking she's The Worst.

Mike Newton

Mike's not a bad kid, he's just a teenage boy. He's about what I'd expect from any teenage boy in any high school. He's very interested in girls, yes, but he also reacts in ways normal people should like say when Bella looks like she's going to pass out in Biology over the blood testing and he's freaking out over it.

Sam Uley

I may get flack for this but the man does try. A lot. He tries to do right by all the people in the pack, tries to do right by Bella, tries to do right by Leah and Emily (even when imprinty shifty nonsense happens), and is forced into making very hard decisions. However he seems to be a very honorable and standup guy just in the worst circumstances.

Emily Young

Emily's another that tries to do right by everyone and is just caught in an awful mess. She tries to do right by Leah, by Sam, then keep her tribe together when these teenage boys keep imprinting on everything.

Leah Clearwater

Leah's full of anger but again always tries to do the right thing and is very levelheaded considering her circumstances. She doesn't want to hate Sam or Emily for what happened to her and actively tries to move on from her own hurt.

Seth Clearwater

Seth seems like a good, earnest, kid. His flaws are actually in his naivite and willingness to see the good in everybody when, yeah, Seth, maybe the Cullens are in fact dangerous and you shouldn't be buddy buddy with them. I've got nothing against Seth.

Quil Atera IV

Quil seems like a decent kid who got stuck imprinting on a toddler and is desperately trying to make the best of it in the only way he can: just being her baby sitter one time a week. Before the imprint he seemed like a decent enough guy.

I'm not going to list off all the pack but most of them seem like decent people trying to do the right thing if a little teenage boy-ish (which can sometimes make them assholes).

Carlisle Cullen

The man has some serious flaws and issues but I think he is a decent person at heart who does strive to live by his principles and do the right thing. (Also, you guys knew this one was coming).

Esme Cullen

Esme's bizarre, but she's a very sweet and caring person who I think is quite genuine in her compassion towards others. She may not be entirely there, but she does mean what she says and genuinely mean well for her family and for others. She just... says things sometimes, or doesn't realize that telling Edward it's okay to eat the girl means Edward would be... eating a teenage girl...

sainte-juste and kaoru are like heads-and-shoulders taller than everyone else, presumably to convey that they are hot, but it is getting pretty comical how exaggerated the height difference is

why the fuck is her nickname sainte-juste. Like I'm assuming the though process was french=dramatic and angsty and Romantic, but why specifically this one guy from the french revolution. did she write a declaration of the rights of the homoerotic girls' school student

DORCAS MEADOWES HEADCANONS

I love Dorlene, first of all, and think that they are so perfect. I also find it weird that the fandom looked at two random dead characters and were like "ship", but I'm here for it.

Blaise Zabini's aunt. This is my personal headcanon-that-I'm-working-to-make-canon, and I feel like this connects her a little more to the original book series. This will be explained in the following dot points:

Dorcas is a hundred percent a half blood, which pisses so many people off, but after making an example of some dude in first year, nobody messes with her. Especially after becoming friends with both Regulus AND Sirius Black.

Blaise Zabini is definitely a pureblood Slytherin, but trust the process, this is a little bit all over the place.

So Selena Zabini (Blaise's mother in this thing I've got going on in my mind) is the daughter of this other Zabini guy, and is about the same age as Narcissa.

This Zabini guy had an affair with this muggle Meadowes lady, so she gets pregnant and whatever, having Dorcas. The Zabini guy takes Dorcas, as the Meadowes lady doesn't want her and is poor-ish. The Zabini guy says that Dorcas is a cousin sent to live with them from Germany.

For about 3-5 years, Dorcas grew up with Selena and the Zabini's (angst potential), before Selena's mother finds out who Dorcas is, and gives her to her mother before disappearing.

Dorcas and her mother do not have a great relationship, and Cas grew up a lot like Blaise did, taking on her mother's last name and having to see her mother go through boyfriend after boyfriend.

However, Meadowes the elder gets rich through all these men, employing a variety of techniques like blackmail, manipulation and getting sugar daddies. So, yeah. This means Dorcas gets a nice big house for when her friends run away from their homes in AU's. :D

Anyways moving on from that thing that I just did.

My fancast for her is Stacey Dash but in Clueless. This is just one of them, there are others but I can't be bothered to name them. Picture below.

Reluctant fighter for Dumbledore, being a Slytherin, she spots his manipulation from a mile away, and is still hurt by his favouritism.

Hates dogs, hates Sirius, in honour of Reggie. She eventually warms up to him though, in spite of Reg joining the Death Eaters, but feels like a traitor whenever she laughs at one of his jokes. He feels the same.

Her and Pandora's friendship becomes tense when the boys join the Dark Side, Pandora refusing to help Gryffindors who have hurt them all their lives kill her friends, and Dorcas feeling so hurt that her friends would help kill people like her.

She loves anything shiny or sparkly, and has a huge chest for jewellry that she collects.

Drinks coffee with no sugar but a spoonful of chocolate and half a teaspoon of vanilla.

Gaslights like a pro.

So many toxic relationships before finding out she was a lesbian. Spoiler alert, she was the toxic one.

Brushes Marlene's hair when they get time to themselves while Marlene rambles on about some random Quidditch team.

Obsessed with the radio, no matter what is on it, whether it be talk shows or music.

Dresses up as old witch and spies for the Order in Knockturn Alley. Hates it, but she's good at it.

Severely underestimated by everyone, no matter what side their on, except for her old friends.

Luna's godmother!!!!

Denies being an animal person, but is obsessed with foxes. Has fox jewellery, stickers, pens, anything fox related.

The World of Marvels (Part 2)

Hey there guys!

I’m back with part 2 of my The World of Marvels series!

And with this part, we’ll finally be talking about some of the characters of this realm, starting off with….

Spider-Man (Peter Parker)

Characterization-wise, this Peter could be best described as a smart himbo.

He has all the kindness and attractiveness typically associated with himbos, but with an actual brain.

This version would particularly highlight two of Peter's strongest character traits: his caring nature and how down-to-earth he is.

Peter's best moments have usually come from being able to connect with people on a personal level.

Among the heroes of this realm, he's basically "the friend everybody likes".

I mean it's Spider-Man! Who doesn't like Spider-Man?

Nevermind....

As for his personal life.

Peter works part-time as a substitute teacher at various school for up-and-coming young superheroes, particularly Avengers Academy, The Future Foundation, and The Xavier School for Gifted Youngsters.

And he's HAPPILY MARRIED to Mary Jane.

As for his appearance.

Peter has fair skin, brown eyes, brown hair in the same style from Marvel Rivals....

Has a muscular build with a lean frame like in the comics, and stands at 5'9 (about an inch shorter than his traditional height of 5'10).

And he's 25 years old.

As for his outfit, you can't go wrong with the classic....

In terms of his powers and abilities, Peter has his traditional output.

However, the characters of this series will be a little more....showy.

As in they each have a special power or ability of sorts that they either canonically don't have in the comics (or at least mainline ones) or they canonically do, but rarely ever show off.

And in the case of Peter, he's back to utilizing constructs made out of webbing, like he did back during his early days.

Fun Fact: Peter loves kids.....and luckily, not in THAT way. He loves teaching them about things, helping them out with their issues, or just hanging out and playing with them. He's particularly close to Pinocchio, especially since he's had a history of being used by others, which Peter hates to see. As a result, his biggest opps (besides The Green Goblin and Doctor Octopus) are Honest John and Gideon, Stromboli, and especially The Coachman. If he even remotely sees the latter, he would enter his Black Suit attitude.

And well.....

Shocker: Coachman.

The Fantastic Four: Mr. Fantastic (Reed Richards), The Invisible Woman (Susan Storm-Richards), The Human Torch (Johnny Storm), and The Thing (Ben Grimm)

Characterization-wise, they're pretty the same as in the comics.

Though here, Reed would officially be confirmed as autistic.

Among the heroes of the realm, The Fantastic Four are among the most respected, given that they were the ones to kickstart the modern age of heroes.

As for their personal lives, they run The Future Foundation, an institution based within The Baxter Building, which is meant to help young, scientific minds flourish.

In terms of their romantic lives.

Reed and Sue are still married, and the proud parents of Franklin and Valeria.

Ben is also married to Alicia.

And Johnny is dating the Korean pop singer Luna Snow.

As for their appearances.

Reed, Sue and Johnny all have fair skin, while Ben has his trademark orange, rocky skin.

Reed has brown eyes, brown hair in his usual style with the curl at the front, a slender frame with an athletic build, stands at 6'3 (two inches taller than his usual height), and is 39 years old.

Sue has blue eyes, long wavy blonde hair, blue lips, an hourglass figure with an average build, stands at 5'8 (two inches taller than her usual height), and is 37 years old.

Johnny has blue eyes, spiky blonde hair, a lean frame with an athletic build, stands at his usual height of 5'10, and is 26 years old.

Ben has blue eyes, a large, wide and broad frame with a blocky build, stands at 7'1 (about a foot and a one inch taller than his height.....kind), and is 40 years old.

As for their outfits, it's essentially the same ones from the Marvel Adventures universe (which in the case of Reed, Sue and Johnny, were the same outfits they wore in the Ultimate Universe, but with black gloves and boots of their classic outfits.

As for their special skills in this series.

Reed can take on different forms, each with a different physical enhancement. Like an insanely muscle-bound form that grants him incredible strength or a big-footed form that grants him incredible speed.

Sue can create all kind of constructs out of her forcefields, including living ones of things like animals.

Johnny can also do the same thing, but with his flames.

And Ben can send out powerful shockwaves and waves of earth but stomping or slamming the ground.

Fun Fact: Once a month, the FF take their family and students out to a night at Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe in Cosmopolis.

Captain America (Steve Rogers)

Characterization-wise, Steve is what you would usually expect from him.

Among the heroes of the realm, he's by far the most respected, given that the stories of his heroic escapades from the past served as a inspiration to just about all of them.

As for his personal life, he works part-time as a freelance cartoonist and as the art teacher of Avengers Academy.

He's also now married to fellow Avenger Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow.

As for his appearance.

Steve has fair skin, blue eyes, blonde hair in the same style from Avengers Assemble....

A broad frame with a muscular build, stands at 6'4 (two inches taller than usual), and is 37 years old.

As for his outfit, it's the classic suit, but with the shoulder star badges of his Ultimate outfit.

As for his special skill, it's pulled directly from the Ultimate Universe.

The Super Solider Serum, instead of giving Steve peak-human strength, it gave him superhuman strength.

He's around the same level as Peter.

Fun Fact: Growing up, Steve was always fascinated by American folk tales. So when he found out about The Land of Legends, he immediately went full-on fanboy, finally getting to meet the various folk heroes he read about when he was a kid.

The Incredible Hulk (Bruce Banner)

Characterization-wise, Bruce has finally gained control over The Hulk.

And even as The Hulk, he's pretty much how he's been portrayed in a lot of animated media since 2013.

Being more friendlier, levelheaded and intelligent than how he is in most other iterations.

Once again, largely thanks to Bruce finally having control over him.

As for his personal life, Bruce works as the chemistry teacher at Avengers Academy.

He's also now married to his longtime sweetheart, Betty.

As for his appearance.

As Bruce: Has fair skin, brown eyes, brown hair in the same style from Marvel Rivals.....

A skinny build, and stands at 5'3 (about six inches shorter than his usual height).

As Hulk: Has green skin, green eyes, messy dark green hair, a wide broad frame with an extremely muscular build, and stands at 8'6.

He's also about 35 years old.

As for his outfit......you can only do some much when you only wear purple pants.

As for his special skill.

As The Hulk, Bruce can generate and manipulate gamma energy.

Which he can either channel inward for even greater strength, or outward in the form of concussive beams.

Fun Fact: Bruce loves meditating, and one of his favorite realms to do so is Oriental Gardens. He usually mediates in either a clearing in a forest, or in a secluded garden.

Iron Man (Tony Stark)

Characterization-wise, Tony here, in contrast to.....just about every iteration of him since 2010, actually takes far more from how he was like in the comics pre-MCU.

Before Civil War ruined it.....

Still being charismatic and witty, but being more openly humble and caring.

As for his personal life, he's still the CEO of Stark Industries and serves as the technology teacher of Avengers Academy.

He's also now married to Pepper.

And before you ask, Jarvis isn't the AI within his suit anymore.

He's back to being his butler (a HUMAN butler mind you) and close longtime friend.

As for his appearance.

Tony has slightly tanned skin, brown eyes, long black hair and a Van Dyke beard, a lean build, stands at a 6'1 (6'4 in the armor, about two inches shorter than usual) and is 36 years old.

As for his outfit, it's the Model 29 Extremis Armor.

As for his special skill.

He has a special pulse cannon and a override mode that makes him even stronger for a brief amount of time.

Fun Fact: Tony has a special underwater suit with a steampunk theme to it. He got help from Captain Nemo when making it.

Thor (Donald Blake)

Characterization-wise, Thor is what you usually expect from him.

Also, as the heading above tells you, Thor is back to using the Donald Blake persona as his secret identity.

Which itself was still created by Odin after Thor was banished rather than Donald Blake already being an actual person who was……basically cursed.

As for his personal life, he still works as physician and serves as the history and mythology teacher of Avengers Academy.

He’s also now married to Jane.

As for his appearance.

As Donald: Has fair skin, blue eyes, short strawberry blonde hair, a stubble beard, slim build, and stands at 5’10.

As Thor: Has fair skin, blue eyes, long blonde hair, a broad frame with a muscular build, and stands at 7’0 (about six inches taller than he usually is).

As for his outfit, it’s the classic look.

As for his special skill.

Thor is able to tap into The Thorforce, a mystical force that allows him to control the powers of the storms without Mjolnir for a temporary amount of time.

Fun Fact: Visiting the realm of Astragard tends to be incredibly awkward for Thor, given the vikings and all. The dude can't go 30 seconds without getting praised and worshipped.

Ant-Man and The Wasp (Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne-Pym)

Characterization-wise.....

Hank is dead-ass kind of a hippie.

Plus, just like his iteration from The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, he's a pacifist who usually tries to avoid violence.

As for Janet, she's pretty much the same as she was in EMH.

As for their personal lives.

Hank runs his own research company, Pym Laboratories, and serves as the biology teacher of Avengers Academy.

Janet runs her own fashion company, Van Dyne Design Studios, and serves as the fashion teacher of Avengers Academy.

And yes, these two are married.

But thankfully, these two will actually be in a HEALTHY and LOVING relationship with no sort of abuse.

As for their appearances.

Hank has fair skin, blue eyes, long dirty blonde hair that he often keeps in the form of a ponytail, a soul patch, a lean frame with a muscular build, stands at 5’5, and is 34 years old.

Janet has fair skin, brown skin, yellow and black lips, brown hair in a pixie cut, an hourglass figure with a muscular build, stands at 5’10, and is 32 years old.

As for their outfits.

Hank wears the same outfit from EMH, but without the trunks.

And Janet wears her iconic yellow and black suit, but with the same antenna muffs from EMH as well.

As for their special skills.

Thanks to their usage of the Pym Particles, both Hank and Janet possess superhuman strength, speed, agility and endurance in their normal sizes.

Hank can create physical constructs with his ants.

And Janet can use her muffs to control bees.

Fun Fact: Being inspired by Paul Bunyan, Hank and Janet have tried making giant meals. While although pretty good, they still don't quite compare to the ones Paul makes.

PANDORA!!!!! I love her so much but so many people essentially make her Luna, this whimsical slightly odd girl who floats about but I need her to be weird and uncomfortable just like her brother. I need Pandora to have odd collections of bugs that she had in those little displays and a weird bug pet like a stick insect or a cockroach that she gets out to freak people out. She says what's on her mind no matter how weird it is and her friends love her for that. She fucks about with experiments and always smells kinda off from some potion that blew up in her face before breakfast.

That Pandora died trying to find a way to bring Regulus back. Idk why but that theory doesn't sit right with me because she would know that's dangerous as fuck and I don't think she's do that with Luna right there, because we know Luna saw her die. I think she died doing something she thought would statistically be harmless, that the chances of it going wrong were so low that she ignored them and then it backfired.

💛What is a popular ship you just can't get behind, and why?

Bartylus and not just because I'm a diehard Rosekiller shipper. For me, I just don't think they work. I think Barty is insanely annoying and although Regulus loves him as a friend, I think he is equally terrified of what he'd be like in bed or even to get that close to him. Regulus needs someone who isn't the same batshit crazy as most pureblood families, and Barty needs someone who is insane with him and feeds the insanity which in my opinion Regulus is too subdued to do. The things they do see eye to eye on works in their friendship but nothing more. I also think Regulus just doesn't want someone more scrawny than he is.

💚 What does everyone else get wrong about your favorite character?

Evan, my beloved. PERSONALLY, I don't see him as being a small, petite, weak lil guy. I'm a big lover of gym rat Evan. Even in cases where I hc him as trans, that's just not how I see him. Man got cake for days, he has meaty tits, his thiiiiiighs oh my goooood. I think because I've had hate in the past where people are like "he's only a tiny frail bottom sub" my brain is instantly like "ew" when I think of him like that, but if anyone is gonna be skinny scrawny boney, it's his boyfriend.

💖What is your biggest unpopular opinion about the series?

Assuming this means the original canon content, okay.....I think the films sometimes went too off-canon to the point it stopped making sense. Ignoring the age thing with the marauders, we know that was mainly for Alan Rickman, I think the films didn't take certain physically characteristics into consideration and characters look entirely different in the films and then people forget the book descriptions and say that art based on canon looks nothing like them. For example, Viktor Krum. I love him but Stanislav Yanevski doesn't look anything like how he is described in the books and I think it would have been really fun to see Viktor who looks nothing like a heartthrob still become a heartthrob. I could give so many examples but If you don't know what I mean, just go look up Viktor's book description, it's so important to me.

💔 If you had to remove one major character from the series, who would you choose?

There are easy answers like characters who have little to no impact on the canon narrative such as Marlene and Dorcas, but I love them too dearly to get rid of them. I gave my answer to Alex and he told me to say it anyway so James Potter. Cool. Moving on.

Because I know you also love them so much < 3 Goldenshower (gilderoy/igor)

📖 If you had to remove one book from the series, which would you choose?

If this was films it would be entirely different and very controversial, but books I'll have to say Chamber of Secrets. I don't vibe with it and it feels the least essential to me I guess.

It hasn't always been common but I do see it a lot at the moment, but Petunia. That girl is so straight, straighter than Molly Weasley, straighter than Peter, straighter than a wooden metre stick.

Hi there!!! Did you read the Magneto series and Scarlet witch series? I'm eagerly waiting to know your thoughts!

Yes I did! I read through the last issue of Magneto this morning, as well as issues 9 & 10 of Scarlet Witch. Overall, I really enjoyed the conclusions to both of them, Scarlet Witch more so.

Magneto:

This line from Issue 4 really summarizes I think the overall conceit of this story: "Was the 'evil mutant' just a role I played for the greater good... or the ugly truth? Am I the heir to Charles Xavier's dream... or the beast that will devour it?"

At first, this series gave me the impression that the author's argument was that it had all been an act back in the 60's, that Magneto wasn't really ever 'evil,' and I didn't find that satisfying. I think there's a tendency in fiction to try to absolve characters of their past actions/crimes, in order to make them more palatable and less complex (for instance, absolving Jean Grey of Dark Phoenix's actions by making it so the real Jean was at the bottom of the bay the entire time, or saying that Doom had manipulated Wanda into committing M-Day). Removing their responsibility/culpability for actions they took just isn't as interesting to me as seeing someone grapple with something horrific they had done, and having to struggle and reckon with it, and find a way to atone for their actions.

So basically, I thought at first that this was what this narrative was trying to do - to remove Magneto's responsibility for the stuff he did in the silver age. But by the conclusion of the series, I think it became more clear that deMatteis & co were really trying to examine these two opposing poles of Magneto, of his capability for intense rage and violence, but also for empathy and compassion.

I think if the series had been longer, this would've been super successful. As it was, it accomplished what it set out to do in these four issues and the ending scene with Rahne, where they're looking at the photo of Max's mom, it's super touching and sweet. I just wish things had more space to breathe to allow this character study the runway it really needed.

Scarlet Witch:

I ADORE this entire run. I haven't been posting my thoughts on individual issues as much as I used to - and that isn't because these things aren't good, they're fucking fantastic - I've just been busy with work (& getting back into writing fanfic). But I need to be super clear - this is my favorite Scarlet Witch solo ever (not that we have many lol) and probably is up there in one of my favorite comic runs of all time.

The artwork is GORGEOUS. The colors used are amazing and the expressions on the characters, by god they just fucking sing. I love the care taken to depict Wanda respectfully and accurately, the new costumes are sick af, and everything is just so dynamic. Sometimes, I have a hard time figuring out what is happening with comic book art, but I never really struggled here - even as we are dropped into wacky new situations, often times jumping from completely different contexts from panel to panel. And the covers, they are just.... just chef's kiss - perfection!

And the characterization, gods - just incredible. I didn't really like Orlando's Marauders run, I ended up dipping out somewhere in arc 1 or 2 of it, so I was a little worried about Scarlet Witch. I'm so glad to have been proven wrong. The cast works together so flawlessly, the little moments recalling past continuity without aliening new readers is fantastic. I adored Wanda calling Joseph Iosif and I'm hoping that, when we next see him, he may just adopt that as his name? (Although I'm not expecting to see Iosif around any time soon, given that Max is coming back, and historically when Max is back and a good guy, Iosif is either dead or a bad guy).

The treatment of Wanda's family was everything I could have hoped for - honoring Magneto as her father, her interactions with her siblings, with her kids, with her niece. Seeing Luna Maximoff again in a comic was NOT something I saw coming but I loved it lol.

I also just loved the rotating nature of the problems she faced - that every issue was a new adventure, a new place, a new way for Wanda to demonstrate her growth and healing by giving back to others. She's an OP character by definition and I never felt myself bored with the conflicts she had to face. They were unique and varied and I felt most of them, on some level, had a direct connection to a period of Wanda's own history - hell, they even had her basically go and confront someone who was doing a WandaVision which I found sooo funny lmao.

(If you can't tell by my rambling, I'm kinda obsessed with this series...)

The final villain I really liked - partially because I am an inorganic chemist, so a lot of the science and stuff that I do actually comes from alchemists. I think having alchemist villains for Wanda to face is super interesting and a nice change of pace from the demons and other witches she is usually up against, and I hope we see more of Nicola. She's a super neat foil for Wanda, particularly with the current continuity that Wanda comes from a line of Scarlet Witches, and Nicola comes from a long line of alchemists.

Darcy was a treat, she worked super well here, and I kinda ship her with Zelma now??? Like they're girlfriends, right??? Right???

There's probably things I'm frothing at the mouth over with this series that I've forgotten about, but I also don't want to write you an entire essay in response, so.... I'm gonna cut myself off here and say that I am VERY excited for the follow up Quicksilver & Scarlet Witch series. (Maybe we'll get a Quicksilver & Scarlet Witch & POLARIS series one day, hmmm? Please Marvel? Pleeeeeeeease? I neeeeeed it soooo much....)
