2. what's the most embarrassing thing you've ever worn?

everything i wear is a fashion statement... usually. but probably the amount of blue skinny jeans i wore in 2019.

5. how many chickens do you think you could take in a fight?

ok realistically none, i am so scared of chickens it's not even funny. but hypothetically, if i wasn't, i think maybe 15 if i'm being generous. they're actually so horrifying though, i'd be begging for mercy and forgiveness instantly, and they wouldn't even have to try.

made a reference sheet for Lucifer! :) he's wildly inconsistent in the show, so this sheet has helped me a whole bunch

(NOTE DONE) the facial expressions in the lower left corner are more inspiration for pushing his expressions since he's SO EXPRESSIVE!! :D ...rather than direct reference since too many features change between screenshots there

(his front view hair should actually curve in toward his two hair "sprigs" like it does in every other angle, but the way i drew it is just my own personal preference at times -- it helps me think of him as a bit more 3D)

below is how on earth i laid out that crazy-looking collection. there's a method to the madness! (the dashed line in the middle of the turnarounds is the "front view," and then the images spin Lucifer left and right from there. sometimes the screenshots in the turnarounds are just for body/leg/arm shape reference rather than face reference)

the note at the bottom of the "Hat angles" box says "The hat angles in the center of the ring are usually intended only for animation in-between frames, rather than for longer poses or for illustrations"

"The Ideal Man" in the upper left corner is a partially joking section name and is the Lucifer design i tend to aim for. i think of his face as "very round except for his pointy chin + his eyes are close together and take up almost the whole width of his face (except for in profile view, and except for when it doesn't look good)."

SO ABOUT HIS HAT. HIS HAT CAUSED ME SO MUCH CONFUSION UNTIL I THOUGHT OF IT AS A NON-PHYSICAL ENTITY LOL

short explanation: Vivziepop's art style, and especially Lucifer's design, is heavily based on what "looks right," rather than what is physically possible. so, my hat thoughts:

it's a droopy hat that folds down at the sides. so its brim droops in the back

BUT it also curves upward in the front, both to show his facial expression and in a way that sort of matches the curve of the top of his hair--

--so his hair doesn't look awkwardly cut off on the top

examples:

also, the top part of the hat has a smaller base than you might expect and then angles outward, with the front part always being taller and arcing down to the back

not every moment follows these rules, but they help me a lot when drawing him

(i often take liberties especially on the base of the hat and just do what feels right to me, usually based on similar characters i've drawn before -COUGHBLACK HAT FROM VILLAINOUSCOUGH- and based on where i sketched his head under the hat)

  You never understood how to talk about feelings or how to express them, that lead to many loving fights, lucifer just wanted to help you and wanted to be there for you, but he can’t know how to help if you can’t tell him

“Darling please just talk to me what is it princess” lucifer bent down to your crying body that was sat in the front of the bed you shook your head no “I can’t help you if you don’t tell me” he put a hand on your shoulder “well I don’t know what to say, just don’t help me then” your mouth spoke before you thought of the harsh words you were saying

Those words went straight to his head “don’t act like that, you don’t know what your saying your upset” looking up at Lucifer who’s eyes were filled with hurt and sadness, your mascara running and you face wet with salty tears “yes I do, just leave me lucifer” you spat out, in the back of your head you knew what you were talking about and you didn’t want to say it but you were just so filled with emotion that you didn’t have control over your Own words.

“Little angel, come here” even after your gift words lucifer gave you an open arms look pleading you to be in his warm arms, still crying you grabbed him and buried your face in his vest tears feel harder as he closed his arms around you, patting your head a kissing the top of it “shhhh, sweet duckling your okay I’ve got you” he spoke as he picked you up and laid you down one your guys bed, moving next to you placing your head on his chest and resting his onto your head 

“It’s okay my sweet girl, you don’t have to tell me anything I’ll be here for you even if it’s not in words” he continued to brush your hair with his hand making sure to sooth your  worries “I’m sorry…” you mumbled out letting sniffles be heard “I know princess”

Filler episode where Lucifer and Vaggie have to spend a fun day out together, but they're both so nervous bcuz Vaggie wants to make a good impression on her girlfriend's dad and Lucifer wants to make a good impression on his daughter's girlfriend. Shenanigans ensue.

Vaggie: “Cross my heart, hope to die…”

Charlie: “Wait I'm regretting this-”

Vaggie: “Lute stuck a sword in my head and-

Charlie: “Vaggie don’t.”

Vaggie: "-cut out my fucking eye.”

Charlie: “From now on let’s just pinkie swear, okay?? Let’s just pinkie swear.”

Lucifer: “I think it’s a good sign Maggie can joke about it!”

Charlie: “Dad. You’ve been depressed for thousands of years. You wouldn’t know a good sign of mental healthiness if it turned into a rubber duck and bit you.”

Vaggie: “Wanna hear the verse where Lute rips off my wings and I spend the next three years lying to the love of my life about it?”

Lucifer: “Okay!!!”

Charlie: “NO.”

Vaggie: “But babe, what if I sang?”

Charlie: “…still NO.”

Vaggie: “We could harmonize on my despair..?”

Charlie: “…….uughhghghg FINE. But we're doing a triumphant reprise afterwards. With love.”

Lucifer: “Can me and the duckies do the backup chorus!?”

Vaggie: “You and the ducks are the only ones who can do the backup chorus, sir.”

Lucifer: “AWW SHUCKS! C’mon girls! Let’s sing about Maggie’s miserable life!”

Charlie: “Her HAPPY life, dad! She’s going to have a HAPPY one now.”

Vaggie: “I already do with you here, sweetie.”

Charlie: “….”

Vaggie: “...Charlie?”

Charlie: “Give me a sec. Can’t sing while smiling this hard, sorry.”

Charlie: Alright, Dad, are you sure you're okay with watching Sammy for the weekend while Vaggie and I go down to Sloth for a little break? *glances at Vaggie inch-worming her way to the door*

Lucifer: *proudly puffs out his chest as he holds Sammy on his hip* Not to worry, Charlie! Your old man's got it all under control! *pulls Charlie's undone bowtie out of her mouth to save it from the goat-like wrath of becoming food and ushers Charlie and Vaggie out* Don't you girls worry about a thing. Sammy and I will be just fine.

Charlie & Vaggie: *give zombified grunts and groans as responses while heaving themselves into the limo with Razzle at the wheel*

Lucifer: *watches as the limo pulls away before turning back into the hotel and strolling leisurely up to his room with Sammy still on his hip and whistling a little tune that morphs into a lip trumpet and vocable singing*

Sammy: *giggles and squeals as Lucifer flies him up to grandpa's room and set down on the bed*

Lucifer: Sammy, my boy! Papa's about to teach you all about.... *roots around in his closet and pulls out a little baby suit that's identical to his but has a little duck around the hat and stitched on the breast pocket* FASHION!!!!

Sammy: *coos and reaches out for the suit jacket with a smile*

Lucifer: And then! ICE CREAM!!!!

Sammy: *squeals in delight*

-Later That Night-

Charlie: *rolls over in a super plush and comfy bed in a hotel suite in Sloth, the scent of aromatherapy whisps through the air as gentle music plays in the background, and grabs her phone* Should probably check on Dad......

Vaggie: Babe... sleep...

Charlie: Know.... Know.... but baby check in....

*opens her messages and gets bombarded with picture after picture of Sammy wearing a little suit, ice cream smeared all over his face, playing with ducklings in the pond, flying around while laying on Lucifer's belly, covered in marker scribbles with "Luv U Mamas" written across his forehead, and him sitting in a bathtub with a giant inflatable rubber duckie with Lucifer wearing swim trunks and sitting with him*

Vaggie: Babe.... you good?

Charlie: *teary eyed* My baby~

Vaggie: *leans over to look at Charlie's phone and tears up* Our baby~
