✧°. John was a pretty popular guy in his school years. And he knew he was quite handsome too, so he never really complained about the lack of girl’s attention. Things got a little different when he enrolled in the British military.
✧°. As he reached his twenties, Johnny wasn’t satisfied with teasing all these other recruits in a hall or a canteen. Especially, because it rarely ended with sex, almost never. He was a busy man with loads of obligations around the base. It could be certainly said that he changed a little and grew out of the playboy phase.
✧°. For a while at least.
✧°. But the lack of previously mentioned intimacy almost drove him nuts. Perv!Soap was a simple man, he just needed to blow off some steam, you know?
✧°. Then one lucky day, a group of new recruits came into the training grounds and you certainly got his attention. A pretty thing that smiled to him as you walked by Sergeant MacTavish.
✧°. Johnny felt like his veins were flooding with testosterone again, the mere sight of your curves, made his cock throb. None of the other women soldiers intrigued him so much. it had to be that innocent smile of yours.
✧°. So naturally, Perv!Soap offered you a little tour around the base, while keeping his hand on your lower back. He was just trying to be nice and give you a warm welcome, right? He seemed like a spark of joy!
✧°. He would find himself daydreaming about you, about what position he would put you in or what would he do to pull the sweetest screams out of your tight throat.
✧°. His imagination was wild – you were just sweeping the dust to the tray while kneeling? John already was imagining you on your knees in front of him, begging for his cock, drool dripping from the corners of your mouth.
✧°. Perv!Soap would be a bold type of man, whose intentions were crystal clear. He wanted to mark you as his as soon as possible. MacTavish couldn't bear the thought of other men laying their disgusting hands on you. He had to claim you first.
✧°. The perfect opportunity happened, when you came into the gym for a sparring session. Of course your good friend was there to train with you! Johnny invited you into a ring, before giving some advice.
✧°. Being bigger and stronger than you, Soap made you stumble and fall more times than a fingers hand has. Yet, you kept standing up, willing to continue the sparring session. Perv!Soap enjoyed each minute he had your body within his firm grip, your front or back rubbing against him. It really riled him up.
✧°. So when he had you on the ground, laying atop of him and between his thighs in a tight chokehold, Johnny threw a couple of inappropriate jokes towards his friends who were watching the ring. They laughed and you tried to wiggle away once again.
✧°. “Hope yer gonna keep the spirit, bonnie. I like ‘em feisty.” He whispered into your ear, when your throat was being suffocated with his bicep. You struggled again, letting out a whine and a huff. Such an innocent sound, however it got John’s cock almost hard. You felt it digging into your lower back.
✧°. Perv!Soap would make clear that you already belong to him. If some unfortunate soul dared to look at you in the wrong way, MacTavish would pin them to the wall and threaten them. Or, in a worse case scenario, he would just punch the wretch’s jaw or nose. Hard.
✧°. Furthermore, when crossing him in the hallway, Soap wouldn’t bother with decency. If he had a desire to smack your plump ass, he wouldn’t hesitate. John would smile to himself, if he managed to pull a loud gasp out of you, when his strong palm struck your bum.
✧°. Perv!Soap’s confidence would only boost if he ever made you flustered. Which was often. With previously mentioned slaps or dirty words whispered into your ear.
✧°. “Oh, bonnie. Let me fuck yer pretty tits, eh?”
✧°. “Good lass, learnin’ fast, aren’t we? Got me wonderin’, what else can I teach ya?”
✧°. When it came to drinking outside the base, after a successful mission let’s say, Soap would rather sooner than later pull you into his lap. His thighs were more comfortable than a cheap chair and this way he could watch over you.
✧°. Because he was a good friend and didn’t want anybody to throw a pill into your drink, right? Johnny called it a “scary dog privilege” when you sat at his thighs. But to be honest, for him it was a power move. Everyone else from your group acknowledged how protective Soap was over his girl.
✧°. Perv!Soap would sneak into your shower cabin and shush your loud gasp, before anyone could hear. He placed his big palm against your lower jaw and placed a finger over his lips. You were so cute, when you tried to cover your modesty, even now when both of you were completely naked.
✧°. “Ya gotta help me, bonnie. I’ve got a problem.” John said to you, pointing at his painfully hard cock. Your face turned bright red.
✧°. “Now? Someone might hear us!” You yelled at him, keeping the whispering tone. Slowly your hand that was covering your breasts, loosened up and rested at the side of your body. Fuck it, he already seen enough.
✧°. “Sh, sh, sh. Don’t ya worry, I’ll be quiet, eh?”
✧°. Petrified or willingly, you allowed him to guide your smaller hand over his throbbing length. Soap stood close to you, his chest brushing against your perky nipples as the stream of warm water ran down your curves and his toned muscles.
✧°. Perv!Soap showed you how to stroke him and where to squeeze him. As he predicted you were in fact a fast learner. Quickly you understood how he wanted to receive a handjob and you complied, encouraged by his hand sneaking to the side of your face. The other one was playing with your nipples.
✧°. Sergeant was breathing heavily, huffing into your face just below his. He was getting closer, faster than ever before. You made him this soft, it was your hand that drove him into sweet like honey delirium.
✧°. When he came, his cum spurted onto your palm and some landed on your stomach. Soap moaned, holding onto the shower stall on his left.
✧°. However, the warm and thick liquid was washed away by the trickle of water.
✧°. “That’s a good girl.” Johnny would be so cute and sweet on you, when you did whatever he asked you to.
✧°. But when you misbehaved or even unwittingly flirted with another soldier, Perv!Soap would be rather rough and tough with you, shoving you into the closest, empty storage in the base.
✧°. Johnny would push your face against the wall, tightly gripping your wrists behind your back. He didn’t care when you scowled and whined at him. Soap kicked your feet further apart, before he started to grind against your ass.
✧°. “You belong to me, remember? Only I can fuck your tight cunny, lass.”
✧°. Perv!Soap didn’t care that you mumbled out an apology, he wanted to make a point here – to show you were his little fucktoy.
✧°. So he pushed his way between your puffy folds without any preparations, John knew you would take him anyways. He wasn’t so sweet and gentle about the intercourse, not at all.
✧°. Soap set a fast and rough pace that made each of his powerful thrust borderline painful. Balancing between the soreness and pleasure. One of his hands kept your wrists restrained, while the other hand grabbed a fist full of your hair, forcing you to arch your back for him.
✧°. Your slightly suppressed moans and whines were music to his ears, only encouraging him to keep thrusting into your tight cunt.
✧°. And just before his actions made you and him orgasm, he pulled out of you and nestled his cock between your puffy folds. Ropes of thick cum covered your pussy and instantly began dripping onto your underwear.
✧°. Perv!Soap would pull your panties back up to their place, clinging tightly against your wet sex. Somehow you were conflicted and couldn’t decide if you were disgusted by the feeling of his semen smearing across your labia or were you aroused.
✧°. “Go on, now.” Johnny told you, slapping your clothed ass in a gentler manner.
✧°. “But–”
✧°. “If any bastard would try to sneak their hand into your panties, they’ll know, who this cunny belongs to, yes? I marked it.”

Fights and Frights
Tumblr media
Hello my darlings!! lets add to the Blood empire shall we?? Monster August and Walter did not want to work with me today, so they are in time out until they can play nicely.
Trigger warnings: Blood, violence, hate, broken body parts, mentions of r@pe and irritation at yours truly.
Word count: 3.4K
As per usual my darlings, you do not have my permission to use, translate, or copy any of my work and use it as your own. if you do i will haunt you for the rest of your days
August’s POV
“I need to book a fight.”
 “Are you fucking kidding me?”
 “Tonight. Now.”
“You’ve got some balls to call and ask me for anything.”
“I’m not asking. Make it happen.”
“I don’t do business with your fucked up family anymore. That includes you, August.”
 “I need a fight.”
Dynamo sighs. “You’re the one who broke our deal. You almost killed me. Remember?”
. “It’s almost midnight on a Sunday,” he continues. “No one fights on Sunday. The best I can do is next Saturday.”
“Tonight.”
“There won’t be any money.” “You think I i give a fuck about the money?”
“I think you need therapy.” he fires back, I don’t answer for a second. I should laugh at his comment, that he thinks someone could help me when I’m this far gone. But I can’t remember how.
Not ten minutes ago, the twins dropped me off and went off to do whatever they do to forget a thing like we did tonight. I need to forget, too. I need to hit someone and be hit until there’s nothing left of either of us but blood and bones. “I know where your sister is,” I say at last. Colt doesn’t need money, either. I’m asking him for something, and I have to give him something in return. That’s how the world works. He’s quiet for another minute. “How?” “Baron found her. She’s in Tennessee, going by a different name.” He pauses only a second. “No one’s going to fight you when you’re like this.”
“Like what?” There’s no curiosity in my voice, only a challenge, but he answers anyway.
 “Desperate.”
“Can you get me a fight or not?”
“Do you have an address? A name?”
“I’ll text it to you.” He sighs.
“Merciless has been trying to get me to set her up with a guy. She’ll probably get her sadistic ass out of bed for you.”
“No girls,” I snapped. I’m done hurting girls. Tonight was the last time I’ll fuck with a girl, any girl.
I’m done with the clients, with the girls at work, with the Darling girls. There are enough men in that family to exact our revenge. Girls are too dangerous.
“Then all I’ve got is Colin, and last time I put you up against him, you said you’d kill him if I did it again.”
Tonight, that’s what I want. No rules. No audience. No morality.
Colin Finnegan is the dirtiest fighter there is. He fights like a berserk wolverine who thinks he’s trying out for Ultimate Fighting Champion. Last time I fought him, he tried to take off my kneecap, which would have ended my service career, punched me in the nuts, gouged my eyes, and bit me. He’s lucky he’s still alive.
The smile feels strange and grotesque as it stretches my lips. “Colin would be perfect.”
Harper’s POV
Suddenly, I’m wide awake. The sounds of the swamp are deafening around me, and yet, I find my heart beating in rapid rhythm, a scared rabbit on the run, as I listen for something more. I’m not sure if I was sleeping or passed out from the pain. I only know that a sound woke me. A soft rippling noise skims across the water, and my throat closes with fear. My mouth is so dry around the gag I can’t swallow. Pain throbs through me, constant and unbearably intense. Fear is the first thing I’ve felt in hours besides mind-crushing pain, but it doesn’t numb me. It only increases my senses, makes it worse. I push my feet against the ground at the base of the tree, taking the weight off my numb arms and screaming shoulders.
I would cry if I had tears left. “Are you still out here?” The voice whispers out of the darkness, sliding along the surface of the water, curling around me like a cold snake. My whole body is wracked with a spasm of terror. They came back. I don’t make a sound. My heart is beating so hard I think it will rupture. There’s a soft splash and a curse. Slowly, he sloshes along, plodding through the mud and water, closer with each step. I pray he won’t find me. I pray I’ll die of fear before he does. My mind races out of control with my heart. It isn’t a cop or a search party. It’s too soon for that. They wouldn’t bother with the poor girl who attached herself to a powerful family like the Walkers, anyway. After all, they’ll say, girls like me run away from home over fights with their boyfriends all the time. No one will be surprised. Everyone knows August is all I have going for me. It won’t be like when August was kidnapped, when Local News with Jackie camped outside the Walkers’ house hoping to get a word with the rich new family who moved to town and lost their son. I saw that when I went digging for dirt on the Walker-Darling feud.
It won’t be like when his twin disappeared, and the police organized waves of search parties to look night and day until the Ferrari was dragged from the river and they knew she was gone forever. For a girl like me, a girl who’s already eighteen and has no family to offer rewards, the police will send out a bulletin and be done with it. If they get suspicious, the Walkers will throw a little money at the mayor to make sure no one looks for me. “Are you alive?” What if it’s one of them coming back to kill me? Duke wouldn’t do it alone. Maybe Baron, just for fun. He probably thought he’d give me hope by leaving me alive, and his last cruel joke will be to come back just when I thought I was safe. Baron would untie me first, lay me on the ground, and take the blindfold off. He’d want to see my eyes, to see the life draining out of me. He’d want to study it. He’d probably get hard from it. August would be fast. He’d just stick a knife between my ribs or swipe it across my throat. No mess, no words. August is efficient, I have to give him that. He’d throw the knife in the swamp, and no one would ever find it. It would sink into the mud and disappear forever. “I know you’re here. Answer me if you’re alive, damn it.”
His voice sounds vaguely familiar—or does it? Maybe it’s delirium. “I’m gonna find a dead body, aren’t I?” the guy mutters, as if he’s given up talking to me and is talking to himself now. I don’t care. I’d welcome Baron back, even if he jerked off while he slit my throat. I don’t want to be found, to be woken by a football player with a conscience who came back for me. I want to die. I sag back against the tree, letting my legs go out from under me again. At some point in the night, my shoulder separated, and now pain drills into it like a bootheel crushing an ant. It’s too big to comprehend. A sound escapes me, some desperate plea for it to end. I can’t contain it. The last tether to my sanity is fraying. “Was that you? Fuck. It’s creepy as hell out here.” My parched throat cracks with pain from the sound. Suddenly, a spark hits the blindfold. I can only see a glint, but I know whoever is here, he’s found me. A high, keening sound rips from me unbidden, and pain slashes across the inside of my throat. “Holy fuck,” the guy says, his voice low with shock. I want to do something, to hide, to disappear, but I can’t remember how to do a single thing, even live. For a minute, all I can hear is his breathing, his feet dragging through the water when he moves, and the unmistakable whirr of a phone camera. Then the water near my feet ripples, and I can feel his presence so close it’s as if he’s touching me. I cower away, a sickening mewling sound clogging my throat. “I’m going to help you.” His voice is firm but edged with urgency, bordering on panic. Fumbling fingers pull at the knot of rope behind my head. I almost sob when it loosens, relieving my aching jaw. He carefully draws the gag from my mouth, the rope and the hood along with it. I can feel the wet weight of it come away as he pulls it free, soaked with snot and spit and tears.
When he pulls the hood from my head, I can see faint light in the east, through the budding trees, but shadows still shroud the swamp, and I can’t see him past the glare of his headlamp. “Water,” I whisper, mouthing the words on a breath. “Right,” he says. He bends and unzips a bag, and a second later, he produces a metal bottle. Some silly, residual warning from my programming shivers through me—never take an open drink from a stranger. It makes me want to laugh. What can anyone do to me that hasn’t already been done? What can anyone take from me that hasn’t already been taken? I have nothing left of value, not even my body. The bottle shakes as he tips cold liquid into my mouth. At first, I can’t separate my dried tongue from the bottom of my mouth, but after a second, it pulls free. I drink greedily, swallowing though the water burns my dry throat, my traitorous body performing the act even though my brain knows I don’t want this. Water is life. August is right. Death is preferable. When my rescuer pulls the water back, my body protests, but it doesn’t reach my lips. I close my eyes, too exhausted by the small act of swallowing to do more. All I can do is whisper the words that circled my head all night. “They came back for me.” “I know,” he says. “But I’m going to get you out of here now.” His fingers work at the knots on my hands next. I bite my lips to keep from crying out. Swallowing the scream of pain that forces itself to my throat, I bite down harder, until I taste blood. He gives up and goes to his bag, and I see his silhouette and the beam of the light fall on a glinting silver blade when he pulls it out.
All at once, my entire body is shaking uncontrollably. My teeth chatter together so loud I can hear them over the sound of the insects and his heavy breathing. He steps toward me, and I shrink away, and then his body pressed against mine. He’s so hot, so hard, I want to scream, but only a ragged, choked sound escapes my bruised throat. His chest jerks against my shoulder as he makes a swift movement, and I hear a metallic twang, and the relief in my shoulders almost makes me scream again. When my hands come free, I crumple like I’m made of wet paper. With a curse, he drops the knife to catch me as I fall. His warm hand lands on my breast, and my nipple contracts. Neither of us move for a second. A shock goes through me that my body can still feel anything but pain, even if it is an involuntary response. I’m still alive. My body is alive, even if the rest of me died on that tree. “They came back,” I whisper through chattering teeth, my brain insisting he knows something, that he understands. But I can’t put into words the horror of what happened to me tonight. “I brought a blanket,” he says. “Can you stand?” I shake my head, and he pushes me back against the trunk. Instinctual terror rips through me again, and I push away, collapsing in a heap at the foot of the tree. I can’t comprehend what’s happening. A blanket falls over me. Strong hands grapple to lift me and wrap me. My hands are cocooned inside the fabric, but I don’t fight. The last of my fights drained away in the cold hours before dawn. “Who are you?” I whisper, my voice sounding like someone else’s. Or maybe it sounds ordinary, like it always has, but I’m someone else now. “Don’t worry about that now,” he says. It doesn’t matter. I know as much as I need to know. He’s one of the football players, someone who felt bad enough to come back for me, even after he joined in with the others. He did this, and yet, he came back. I don’t know if that makes him better or worse.
The sky overhead is partially blotted out by tiny leaves, but the pale light creeping into the swamp from the breaking dawn has increased even since the man found me. All I can see as he kneels beside me putting away his water bottle and zipping his bag is a black beanie and broad shoulders. When he lifts his face, though, I take in what I didn’t register when blinded by his headlamp. A silver mask covers the top half of his face. I should feel something about that, but I don’t. For a moment, in the darkness, I can almost believe it’s one of the Walker brothers. But that’s stupid. Of course it isn’t one of the Walkers. Most of the guys in the world have broad shoulders and own beanies. And the accent is all wrong.
The accent belongs here. The Walkers don’t. Without thought, I pull my good hand free and reach for the mask I can barely make out in the scant light. He grabs my wrist. His grip is hard, punishing the bruised and broken skin. My mouth opens in a silent cry. “Don’t even think about it,” he says. “Or I’ll tie you back to that tree and leave you. Understood?” I nod, pain choking off my words. “Never, ever touch the mask,” he says. “And we have a deal.” I nod again, forcing my throat to swallow. I don’t know what he means by a deal, but I don’t want it. Deals with the devil are what got me here. “Deal?” he asks, his grip tightening until I cry out. The piteous sound echoes through the dim, watery swampland around us. “Deal,” I whisper, curling over my arm. Because what does it matter now? What can he take that hasn’t already been taken from me?
“Good,” he says, releasing my hand and tucking it inside the blanket. “Good girl.” He stoops to gather me into his arms. He takes a second to get his balance with the backpack on his back and me in his arms, and then he steps into the water. Pain lances through me with each step he takes, though he moves slowly, feeling his way through the shallow pools and soft hillocks. He trips on a few roots, but he doesn’t drop me. I begin to thaw from the cold, the blanket and his body heat seeping into me as he slogs through murky swamp water, over patches of dry land, slipping on mud. The rhythm of his steps lulls me, and within minutes, I’m drifting into unconsciousness again. I fight to keep my eyes open, to stay awake, to be aware of where he’s taking me. But what’s the point? Why bother? I let myself slip away. When I wake, he’s standing over me, laying me in the backseat of a truck. The sky above is pale morning blue now that we’re out of the trees, and by the cabin light, I can make out the features not hidden by the mask. Sharp features, hint of a tan, good lips. Again, I could almost believe he’s familiar if I tried hard enough.
But I don’t because I dont care. It doesn’t matter who he is. He’s not one of my boys, and they aren’t my boys any longer. They never were. It was all a lie. My lie. My fault. I could have stopped it at any time, and it would have been real. But I didn’t. Which means it was all for Mr. D. ``Who are you?” I ask again, my voice greedy and rough and without curiosity. “Don’t worry about it Harper,” the man in the mask says. He closes the door and circles the truck to climb in the front seat before speaking again. “You’ll be safe with me.” He pulls onto the highway, almost empty this time of day. The whirr of the tires beneath us lulls me again, and I feel my battered body struggling for rest, my mind begging for oblivion. I don’t want to think about what happened, about what they did to me. I don’t want to remember the look of betrayal on August’s face, the tiny glimpse I had in the mirror before he stopped the car, before his eyes emptied of all life.
I don’t want to remember how he betrayed me, either, the disbelief I felt when he turned away from my pleas and allowed his brothers to take what they’ve been asking for since the first time he told them I belonged to only him. I sink into the blanket and let myself forget. I wake in a cold sweat of terror when the truck stops. “Come on,” the masked man says. “Let’s get you cleaned up.” I don’t move, but he must not expect it. He pulls me out of the back seat, hoisting me into his arms. We enter a building through his garage. There’s a set of stairs and another door. He lays me on a leather couch and takes pictures. I think I should protest, but I don’t. It doesn’t matter. When he’s done, he takes me into a bathroom and gets in the shower with his clothes on, holding me up by the back of my head like a doll as he hoses me off with the showerhead. His hands are gentle but efficient as he washes every inch of me. I don’t move, not even when he spreads my legs and washes between them with the showerhead. The warm water burns my torn flesh like a torch, and I lose my breath at the pain, blackness swimming over my vision. When he’s done, he pulls me out and towels me off, then carries me to a bed and lays me down. He looks at me for a long minute. “What’d you do to piss off the Walkers?” he asks.
I don’t answer. My throat hurts too much. He covers me with a blanket and leaves the room. Some time later, I wake when I hear voices arguing in the other room. I close my eyes and try to block them out. I just want everything to go away. A man comes in and tells me he’s a doctor. I didn’t know they made house calls anymore. He pokes at the torn corners of my mouth, my bruised throat, the burn on my hip. He sets my dislocated shoulder and gives me a sling, puts my hand in a splint.
I think how strange it is that before now, losing the use of my right hand would have devastated me. Now, I don’t care. The doctor gives the man in the mask a bottle of pills and leaves. I turn over with my back to him and sleep again. Later, the masked man comes back. It’s dark outside the window. I know I’ve been here a day or two already. I want to leave, but it’s not safe out there.
The stranger gives me juice and pills to swallow and takes pictures of my face. He stands over the bed for a minute, his phone in one hand. Then he pulls off the sheet, rolls me over on my stomach, and pulls me to the edge of the bed so I’m bent over it. I know he’s going to fuck me, but I don’t fight. What’s the point? I won’t win. He puts on a condom and pulls out a bottle of lube from the nightstand, running a line down his cock. Then he lowers it to my entrance and pushes in. It hurts, and I cry, but he’s quick. Afterwards, he showers me off again and tucks me into bed. Later, I feel him curl up around me, and I fall back asleep.

I'm having a highly self-indulgent writing day so I'ma post a thing I just wrote about some OCs I got rattling around.
Peer beneath the read more if you're curious.
Have you heard? There's a new shop in Elmerton.
It's on the corner of 31st and Ocean Avenue, you know, where the old jewelry store used to be? It was bought up recently by a single mom with two kids. Sweet lady, very pretty, Greek. Goes by "Faye" or something, though I don't think that's how it's spelled. Don't ask me to even try with their last name, all I got was that it started with a K.
Anyway, this shop, it's called The Serpent's Nest. I think it earns its name on account of all the snake details in their decorating, especially the wallpaper. It sells occult stuff. You know: crystals, incense, bells-books-and-candles. She uses the old display cases to show statues and burners and cards and stuff instead of jewelry and she turned the bay window into a reading nook for people to try before they buy.
Not that kitschy kid stuff either I'm talking at least three double-sided bookshelves worth of spellbooks and junk written by people who take it serious. The ones that tell you what to do when the sixth moon is in the house of whatever, like they got in the Skulk and Lurk. The kind of stuff that would make most people ask what she does every month outside October if she wasn't setting up shop next to the most haunted town in Illinois.
Oh, and she's got a massive herb and spice section along the left wall and a fridge at the back so that she can make that crunchy health-nut money, too -- almost everything homegrown and homemade, apparently, or else sourced local. She said she had a garden or greenhouse on the roof of the building she keeps tended, along with a couple of those big boxy beehives beekeepers got. I guess they own the building and live on the upper floor.
Anyway, I got a really nice pomegranate honey for my granddad there, and she let me put up a flyer for his yarn stall at the Farmer's Market on the board she's got next to the door. Showed up the Wednesday after, too, and actually bought something. Like I said, sweet lady.
She doesn't dispense drugs, far as I know, but she's apparently working on getting a pharmaceutical license. Getting in on that holistic medicine business too, I guess, though she was pretty quick to tell a guy that his eczema problem is probably better taken care of at a doctor's than anything she's got. Pretty sure she was letting him down gently, but you know. Classy.
Yeah yeah I know I sound half in-love but if you'd seen her you'd get it. She's got that classic dark lady witchy thing going with the long purple dresses and the smoky eyeshadow and bold brown lipstick. She keeps her black hair tied back in this scarf up-do thing and she has curls and waves my sister would kill for. I know her eyes are brown but I swear that they look gold in the right light. Whole family has that, actually. And she's got this little smile like she knows something you don't but you can find out if you pay attention.
Some people get all the charisma, I tell you. Must be great for business. Well, when she's behind the counter, anyway. Sometimes it's one of her kids instead. Day and night, those two.
The older one is built like an Amazon and dresses like she either just got back from beating the hell out of a punching bag at the local gym or like she just got out from under a car that needed a tune-up. She works that whole atheleisure style with a long braid and extra grease stains. Maybe a leather jacket. Killer smile, must be another family thing, though hers made me feel a little bit like she knew she could crush me like a soda can if I crossed her and it's lucky for me that she's in a good mood today. Pretty, but intimidating, y'know?
Name's Diana, if I heard her mom right, though they were speaking Greek at the time so that's just a guess. I pity the guy who tries to hit on her mom while she's in earshot.
The other kid? Man. That one is... Well, they look like their mom? Except. Shorter and sharper. And more dark, like, dressing for your funeral but there's an MCR concert later kind of dark. You know how some people in that scene do. They didn't tie their hair back so it was just curl city like a cross between a Gothic dandelion and a sheep from hell, add some silver jewelry. Their eyeliner had wings clean enough to slice a man but they're also flat as a board so I mean. Hard to tell if they're a boy or girl.
Hey, I'm not saying that to be mean! They look like the kind of person that either likes confusing people, collects knives, or both. They were professional enough behind the counter -- not your typical glass-eyed Daria wannabe -- but they had this way of staring into your soul like they were debating how hard it'd be to pick you out from between their teeth if you took too long to get your change out of your pocket. Not sure if I ever actually saw them blink while I was working that out.
I only got some of their name because their sister wrangled them into something like a human shape when they had their shift change. Still speaking Greek, mind, so it was either Andre or Andrea. Something like that. Wasn't like I really had room to ask for clarification when they were up the stairs so quickly. Barely even heard their footsteps hit the ground.
I think the both of them are going to Casper High next semester. I tried to give their mom a heads up about our whole ghost thing, mention how Phantom pretty much called dibs on our airspace. She didn't seem too worried, but hey. The new people rarely do.
Anyway, it'll be nice to have a fresh source of ghost gear that doesn't have the name Fenton on it, even if it is a little old school. Assuming any of it works, I think those three are going to do pretty well for themselves around here. Can hardly do worse than the old mayor, right?
So. Wanna go?

I am so sorry, guys. I intended in getting to the asks about Kat's songs but then I accidentally fell asleep đŸ€Ł.
It's been a chaotic day/week/month and I am old lol.
Anyway, I have many asks about it and the general consensus seems to be that the song itself was good, but didn't pack as much of a punch as people thought. I'm going to just make this one big blanket post with my thoughts because that's probably just easier.
Also, I am putting my thoughts behind a cut. If you are a person who does not want to hear about this, or if you are a person who doesn't want to hear any criticism towards someone you stan, do NOT click the read more. Keep it moving.
So, the song itself is...fine, I guess. I'm not a huge fan of this genre of music, so I wasn't expecting to be blown away by it from a musical standpoint (and I wasn't). I do think that more can be done from a technical aspect to mix her vocals in better so they are legible (cause they are NOT), but that is a production issue and not a Kat issue. I do want to say that I slowed the song down to .5 speed to try and decipher the lyrics and wow, it lowkey kind of rocked at .5. Very, very grungy sounding đŸ€Ł.
Anyway, the song itself was fine. I feel like they were going for an Abril Lavigne or even Paramore type vibe, which is cool. đŸ€·â€â™€ïž
The elephant in the room of this song is the lyrics, and Sam, and Sam and Kat.
First of all - maybe I'm hard of hearing, but boy were those lyrics hard to decipher lol. I still don't know what the hell is being said in the chorus (in fact, anyone who can tell me what is said right after "how nice of you" wins a prize), which was part of why it took so damn long for me to get to these asks.
I don't know if the problem is the mixing of the lyrics with the music, or if there isn't enough enunciation when they are actually being recorded, but wow.
Anyway, the lyrics. Look, I know that a lot of people were expecting a full-scale evisceration, but let's be honest - that was never gonna happen lol. I think this was about as far as it was going to go.
There are a few biting lines -
the cry on cue line: this was especially of note to me because it validated something I said back when that break up video came out, which was that those were crocodile tears. I took heat for saying it then but sorry- it's true. Man cries and does shit in videos on purpose for attention sometimes. He's always been doing it, and probably will continue to do it. If I'm allowed now to critique him as a person without kicking up some drama, I'd say it's his middle child syndrome mixed with a pinch of narcissism and some insecurity to boot that causes that. But I probably can't say that, so I won't 😂.
The 50/50 like a teenager line: I need an explanation for this one. Was this multi-millionaire, 2 (soon to be 3) Mansion owning, self-driving tesla having rich guy making his much less financially well off girlfriend split every bill in half? Cause if so, he is both a cheap ass and kind of just an ass-ass lol. I'm sorry, but think about the absolute disparity in their income, and then think about the lifestyle he lives. Now imagine you are dating this man and he's taking you to Gordon Ramsey's kitchen and racking up an $800 bill on whiskey that comes out of a glass case and that fucking creepy ass beef wellington shit, and then the bill comes and he look at you and goes "halfsies?" I'd nut shot him. Fuck you, I could've gone to Red Robin and been just as fine. You wanna live bougie and you want my not-rich ass along for the ride? You're gonna have to pay the lionshare. Also - if I'm going to live in your house, and pay an equal share of the bills, you don't get to tell me that I have no say in decorating said house.
The "you sleep well cause she keeps her mouth shut" line: Oof. If I'm interpreting that right, she is saying she could very well destroy him with the shit she knows/shit he's done, but she won't. He's probably very lucky she isn't an Olivia Rodrigo/Taylor Swift type and this is as far as she went, judging by that line.
The tesla line: I think this is a dig at that day that Sam took K on the date to the LA Abandoned Zoo and then K posted an Instagram story in the tesla afterwards? I think? This could've been worded better, I feel, but if that's what she's digging at...double oof lol.
The 6 months line: đŸ€ŁđŸ€ŁđŸ€Ł. The amount of people that were shocked by the 6 months thing is really just proof positive that nobody stalks and dissects this man's moves the way they do Colby's, cause y'all had Colby and Ms Singer married after ONE DATE and talked about it ad nauseum for MONTHS and meanwhile, guess who was two steps behind him on said date? He and K were coupled up all through Halloween, dressing like Hailey and Justin Bieber, taking couples photos at the parties, but all I heard about was Ms Singer and the pool. Just saying 👏. Also, people can move on from shit whenever they want and however fast they want, but the people who were left behind and devastated and have to watch those people move on with lightning speed have every right to feel jilted about it, especially when the injured party took all the shit for the breakup and the other party was praised for being the sad reluctant hero in the whole thing.
I'm not dissecting the rest, cause the POV switches too much and I can never quite tell if she's talking about herself or K lol. But those lines were notable to me.
Overall...it was a good effort on Kat's part, and I can tell it has been therapeutic and cathartic. If anyone is upset about this cause you feel that Sam is being unfairly kicked down in this, I implore you to remember that this man enjoyed a full year of being able to freely say that he has been so much happier and more confident after breaking up with her, while she has gotten death threats for saying he blindsided her. She is allowed her day in court.

*Treasure and Secrets* Trapped Part 2
Tumblr media
Jo feels the truck finally stop and hears the doors. She squints her eyes as the doors open and light engulfs her again. She realizes that it's dark and she starts to worry about Pope. She spots Rafe holding out his hand for her to take. He unties her hands quickly. "Rafe, please listen to me. I need to find out if Pope is okay. Please let me find out if he's okay." she begs him. "Rafe help me with this!" Renfield orders. She turns to spot Carla standing by a car. She hears them grunt trying to move the cross. "Carla, please I need to find out if Pope is okay. He was having an allergic reaction." Jo cries to her. "When this is all over I'm sure you can find out about your friend. But right now, you're about to witness something spectacular." Carla smiles at her. "You guys are all nuts." Jo mumbles as she turns her attention to them placing the cross on the ground. "I don't believe it." Carla breathes out in awe. "I told you I would get it for you." Renfield proudly states. "You said you would and you did." Carla steps closer to the cross. Rafe steps back and grabs a hold of Jo's arm pulling her back against his chest. "Before we do this, I just wanna remind you of our deal, okay." Rafe comments. "You really are your father's son, aren't you? Talking about deals at a moment like this." Carla answers him with a voice of disgust. "I showed you the mural. I get my cut." Rafe argues. Jo listens not being able to move from Rafe's grasp. "The deal is as we discussed Rafe." Carla brushes off. "It better be. I have plans that can't be ruined." he states. "You'll get your cut." Carla states as she steps closer to the cross. Rafe pushes Jo forward so they can get a better look at what is going on. "Inside this cross is the shroud. And whoever touches, the hem of the garment shall be healed." Carla speaks. Rafe leans down to speak in Jo's ear. "This lady is a nutcase." he whispers softly. She elbows him in the stomach and smirks when she hears his quick intake of breath. "It's time for a miracle. Joanna, you're about to witness something that nobody in our family has ever witnessed." Carla pulls the key out of her pocket. Rafe gives her a confused look. "You're related to this lady?" he whispers to her. "I just recently found out, but I think so." she whispers back to him. They watch as Carla struggles to open the small locked space. "Let me help you." Renfield tries to help her. She pushes him away. "No! It's meant for a Limbrey!" she sneers at him. Rafe gives Renfield a look. Carla finally gets it unlocked and everyone leans forward to see what is inside. She opens the door and a moth flies out. The box is empty. Rafe leans forward. "Your magic scarf was eaten by bugs." he sarcastically remarks. Renfield starts laughing. Carla whips around and punches him. "How dare you mock me!" Renfield lunges for her and throws her to the ground. "Hey! Stop!" "Hey, hey, hey!" Both Jo and Rafe step forward instantly to defend Carla. She doesn't miss the way he instantly wants to defend the defenseless lady. "That's it. You're cut off. You're not getting a penny." Carla hisses out. "I don't need your money. I've got the cross now." Renfield retorts. Rafe pulls Jo back to him protectively. "Come on Rafe help me." Renfield orders as he climbs into the truck. "Rafe." Carla calls out. "Don't worry you'll still get your cut and nothing will happen to your little girlfriend. Come on!" Rafe lets go of Jo to help Renfield. Jo watches as Rafe's muscles bulge in his shirt as he lifts half of the cross and pushes it back into the back of the truck. "Renfield! Come over here and help me up!" Carla shouts. "Help you up? You're lucky I don't back up over you." Renfield sneers. Carla pulls out a gun and shoots him. Jo lets out a large gasp in shock. "Rafe!" She shouts out and he makes his way to her and pulls her into his arms. "It's alright. We're not hurt." he assures her. He looks up to see Renfield bleeding out and struggling to breathe. Rafe pushes Jo's face into his chest. "Don't look." he tells her. "Rafe don't just stand there with your mouth open. Help me up." She tells him as she throws her gun to the side. "He wasn't a good man. He's not like us Rafe, Joanna. Come on." Rafe lets go of Jo and walks over to Carla. He reaches down and instead of grabbing her hand, he grabs the gun. Jo's eyes widen and she freezes. "Rafe? Rafe? What are you doing?" Carla starts to panic. "Rafe, what are you doing?" Jo asks. She watches as he starts to close the truck doors. "Get in the truck Jo." he commands. "Rafe? Rafe? Don't do this!" Carla shouts. "Rafe-" "Get in the damn truck, Joanna!" Rafe shouts at her. She jumps and quickly runs over to climb in the passenger seat. Rafe joins her a minute later. He starts the truck and pulls out of the hanger. "What did you just do Rafe?" Jo asks hesitantly. "I just secured our future." he tells her.                                           ***************************** As he's driving his phone rings. "Answer it and put it on speaker." he tells Jo. She hits the green button and presses the speaker. "Rafe?" She hears Rose speak through the phone. "Hey, I got the cross of The cross thing of what they were looking for I got it! Our ballroom days aren't over yet Rose, okay? This thing is covered in diamonds." Rafe speaks into the phone. "What about Limbrey and the others?" Rose asks. "Don't worry about them." he responds. "What does that mean?" she asks. "It means I took care of it! They're out of the deal. I did this on my own." he tells her. "Did you hurt them?" Jo can hear the concern in Rose's voice. Rafe chuckles. "No, I uh didn't." he tells her as he continues to drive. "Go home. I need you to stay out of trouble until the morning. We're leaving tomorrow." Jo's head jerks up in surprise. "Did you not hear what I just said? We got the cross. We don't have to leave now!" Rafe shouts into the phone. "What do you mean by leave? What the hell is going on Rafe?" Jo spits out the questions. "Who is that?" Rose asks. "It's Joanna, okay? She's gonna be staying with us now!" Rafe tells her. "Oh my God, just get to the house. Bigger things are going on right now! I will meet you there!" Rose hangs up the phone. "Rafe, I'm not staying with you! You need to let me out of this truck right now!" She tries to grab the wheel. "Joanna stop!" He slams her head into the window knocking her out.                                                       *************************** Jo slowly wakes up. She sits up and realizes that she is in Rafe's room. She hears the shower running and stands up. She runs to open the door but hears the shower stop. She quickly jumps back in bed just as the bathroom door opens. Rafe walks out in nothing but a towel. He smiles when he sees her awake and gawking at him. "Hey, baby. I'm glad you're awake now."  he smiles as his hand grazes her ankle affectionately. "Only because you knocked me out." she glares at him. "I'm sorry for that, but you were being ridiculous." He reaches into his bag and tosses her a passport. "I need you to be ready to leave. We're going away for a while." he tells her.  "Rafe, I'm not going anywhere with you! I'm staying here." she argues. "That seems to be a problem because I refuse to leave without you. I'm done waiting around for you to realize you belong with me. Things are about to change for the better. I can offer you a life that Pogue can only dream of doing." He grabs her face and leans down and kisses her. Before she knows it he pulls away. He quickly gets dressed and grabs his keys. The door opens and Wheezie walks in. "Can you help me with my suitcase?" she asks him. "Can you not do it yourself?" he snaps at her. "No. Please." she tells him. "Alright. Fine. We gotta make this quick. I'll be right back baby." He tells Jo as he puts his keys back down. He leaves the room and locks the door. Jo stands up and tries to open the door, but can't, just realizing that he locked her in. She slams her fist at the door in frustration. She sits back on the bed in defeat. Rafe was gonna win and he was gonna take her far away where she is gonna have no choice but to fall in love with him again. The door opens and Sarah rushes in. "Oh thank God!" Jo quickly stands up. "We need to go! Where's Rafe's keys?" Sarah asks. Jo grabs them off his nightstand. "I got them. Come on." Jo follows Sarah down the stairs and back out the front door. "Okay, we have the keys. We can just drive this thing off." Jo whispers to Sarah. "I need to see it." Sarah tells her as she walks back to unlock the back doors. "Sarah? I know for a fact it's in there! Now come on!" Jo quickly runs to the back where Sarah is unlocking the door. She sees Renfield's dead body and starts to freak out. Jo grabs the keys off of her. "We need to go. I'll drive." she tells her calmly. Sarah nods her head. Jo goes to turn around and runs into a hard body. Her eyes widen when she realizes it is Rafe. "I really wish you didn't do that." He grabs Jo's head and slams her into the truck knocking her out.                                                *************************** When Jo wakes up again she is laying in a different bed. She looks up to see Rose leaning over her. "How are you feeling? Rose asks her softly. "My head hurts so bad." she tells her as she sits up. She looks down to see she's wearing different clothes. "Where am I?" Jo asks her softly. "I'm sorry that you got put in this position. But you are the only thing that keeps him calm and I need to keep this family together whatever it takes. I needed to keep Rafe calm and you coming with us is the only thing that is keeping him calm." Rose tells her. "What do you mean? Where am I?" Jo stands up and looks out the window. All she sees is ocean water and no land in sight. "Oh, my God." She starts to feel tears coming down her face. "I am so sorry, but he is going to take care of you and not hurt you. It was the only way to get him on the ship Joanna. You'll learn to love him again with time." Rose tells her firmly. The door opens and Rafe walks in. "I need a minute alone with Joanna." he tells Rose. Rose leaves the room and Jo glares at Rafe. "How dare you bring me here against my will! This is kidnapping!" She yells at him. "Quit being so dramatic! You're not in any danger. I told you that I refused to leave without you and I meant it." Rafe steps closer to her and grabs her waist to pull her closer to him. "I love you, and I refuse to be without you anymore. I have the cross and I secured our future together. You won't have to worry about anything anymore, because I'm gonna take care of you baby. For the rest of our lives." he tells her so intensely. She doesn’t stop him when he leans down and kisses him. She is stuck and has nowhere to go. She chooses to grab his face and kiss him back. She can feel him smirk against her lips as he pushes her back toward the bed. She falls back onto the small mattress and he follows right on top of her.

Danny is a little baby cocksucker bitch! Bleed him dry! Do it for Ev! I'll help you take over the world after I have a nap.
I love her so much
"I don't mind," you whispered. "But you know you're going to make Bob blush, right?" Bradley kissed your forehead and said, "Molly has broken him in, I think. He doesn't blush as much as he used to. Now, don't forget, we have plans for the Fourth of July. And I'll see you at your house later tonight after my practice."
GO MO GO!
With a deep sigh, he hung his pretty souvenir on one of the hooks and snapped a photo. He sent it to you as he literally ran outside and across the tarmac to the meeting room for his afternoon session. He had your underwear in his locker and your engagement ring in his kitchen drawer.  He had big plans for that ring. There were just a few things he needed to prepare, and he couldn't stop smiling as he thought about what he and Everett were planning. He could talk that kid into anything over some McDonald's chicken nuggets.
Tumblr media
"See you tomorrow," Bob told him with a nod as he hoisted his gear bag up onto his shoulder. And as he walked to the Bronco, Bradley hoped that Everett would be lucky enough to have Bob as his uncle.
Tumblr media
"Cereal," he mumbled, his voice muffled by the blankets. "Are you going to get up and put on makeup and a dress and stuff?" You laughed and said, "We're just going to the park and then a splash pad party in the desert, Ev. I wasn't planning on getting too dressed up today. Why?" "You should," he said, wiggling out of bed and running out of your room.  "Okay," you muttered to nobody. And a little while later, you were sipping coffee and eating cereal in your kitchen, still not dressed for the day when Bradley arrived.
Tumblr media
"Well? Will you marry me, Kitten?" He held up a diamond ring as you kissed him and started crying. "Yes. I'll marry you." Your voice was shaky and filled with tears, but you were so happy as you cried and kissed him.  "She said yes, kiddo!" Bradley shouted to Everett when you buried your face against his neck. And you realized they had both been planning this together which just made you cry more.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I can't stop smiling and giggling and kicking my feet right now, Em! COACH AND KITTEN ARE GETTING MARRIED!!!!!!! I'm so happy for them you don't even know. The only thing that would make me happier? Seeing Molly knee Danny in the nuts and Bradley punching his lights out.

You locked your office door and sank down into your seat. You were too nervous to eat the lunch you packed for yourself as you got your phone out to call your lawyer. It had taken you a few days, but you decided what you wanted to do about Danny. It wasn't ideal, but you'd do it.
As you sat and listened to the hold music playing in your ear, you poked at your sad looking salad. Danny was going to blow up at you after this. And it would be months and months before you saw a cent, but you supposed it was the best you could get since you couldn't get Danny stripped of parental rights. Tears pricked at your eyes, because you just wanted him gone. Good and truly gone with no ability to come back and hurt Everett again.
When your lawyer returned to the line, you told him that you wanted to move forward with serving papers to Danny to petition for child support. If you couldn't get rid of Danny, at least you could pad Ev's college account or help him buy a car someday.
"You do understand that Daniel can take four months to contest the petition? And that's on top of the time it may take to serve him the papers?"
You rested your forehead on your desk and took a deep breath. At least you would be the one dealing all of this shit behind the scenes so Ev wouldn't have to know about it. But Bradley was always imploring you to be more open with him about this, so you'd have to figure out how to tell him that Danny was here to stay. Unless you and Bradley ever got married. Unless Bradley ever wanted to petition to adopt Everett.
"Yes," you said, your voice only a harsh whisper. "I understand. We can proceed."
As your melancholy settled in, you decided to text Molly about what you did. It didn't take long for your sister to respond. She must not have been working right now. You never could manage to keep track of her schedule, so you had no idea how Bob was so efficient with it.
Danny is a little baby cocksucker bitch! Bleed him dry! Do it for Ev! I'll help you take over the world after I have a nap.
You snorted, pleased that not a moment had passed since your parents died when Molly was not one hundred percent on your team. And now you had Bradley. And you supposed you had Bob, too.
A sharp knock on your office door had you jumping in your seat. "Coming," you called, scrambling to go unlock the door only to find Bradley standing there in his khaki uniform with a bunch of tulips and a wrapped sandwich. His aviators were perched on the tip of his nose, and he looked like a fantasy. You could see three of the receptionists leaning out of their cubicles to get a better look at him.
"Kitten," he whispered with a grin before kissing your cheek. When you silently pushed your door open wider, he brushed past you, and you closed it behind him.
"What are you doing here?" you asked breathlessly. He set the food and the flowers down on your desk, and you rushed into his arms.
"I just missed you," he whispered in your ear. "And it's Tuesday. Technically the slowest day of the week. I needed a pick-me-up." And with that, he scooped you up into his arms while you gasped, and he deposited you on the edge of your desk.
"Well, I'm glad you're here," you told him, reaching out to pull him closer. He tossed his sunglasses onto your desk, and then you couldn't even remember what you wanted to tell him. Something about your lawyer? His hands were on your bare knees, sliding up under your black skirt.
"You know I love this," he whispered, pushing your skirt up your bare thighs. "I like to daydream about this skirt. On your bedroom floor. Or all bunched up around your waist."
You coaxed his lips down to yours with your finger under his chin and kissed him softly. "I have some free time right now."
Instantly, he was lifting your butt up off of your desk and yanking your skirt up over your hips and around your waist. You squealed with delight as he set you back down and smiled as he knelt in front of you. "Really?" he asked, nudging your inner thigh with his nose and kissing you there.
"Yes," you giggled as he looked up at you. When you spread your legs wide for him, he kissed your core through your underwear, and you gasped, "Go lock my door, Coach."
He dipped his long index finger inside the lace fabric and nudged your clit with his knuckle. "Where's the fun in that?"
You moaned, and then you were shimmying your underwear down your legs. Bradley tucked them into pocket, and you couldn't believe you were letting him do this with the door unlocked. But the prickle of his mustache along your slit had you grabbing at the back of his head and spreading open further for him.
He licked a long stripe from your opening up to nibble on your clit, and you dug your fingers into his hair. "That's a good Kitten," he rasped, kissing along your pussy and thighs as he slipped his index finger inside you. Just a few strokes and you were whining for him, your thighs clamping around his head. But he pushed them apart again and kept them in place with his other, huge hand.
"Bradley," you gasped, and he pulled you a little closer to the edge as he sucked on your clit. "Oh god."
He released you and licked a circle that had you tugging on his hair. "Wanna make sure you think about me when you're at work, Baby," he grunted before rubbing his mustache through your wetness until you were getting a little loud.
"Bradley!" you whined. He was good. You leaned back on one hand as he made your legs shake. And when he looked up at you as he circled your clit lazily with his tongue, you knew you were getting close. "Keep going," you told him, rocking against his face a little bit.
The sight of him buried between your legs with your fingers messing up his hair took you all the way. Because when he wrapped his lips around your clit one more time, you came for him. Loud and needy. And then you slowly sat fully upright again while your ears buzzed. He was still placing soft kisses on you everywhere that used to be covered by your underwear.
"I love you, Kitten," he whispered as he squeezed your thighs and stood up to kiss you. His mustache was wet, and you licked him while you moaned softly. His whole face tasted like you as you licked and kissed him. It was intoxicating, and you pulled him closer so the front of his uniform pants rubbed against your pussy. He was rock hard.
"You wanna?" you asked him as he stroked his fingers along your cheek.
"Fuck, you know I do," he promised, rubbing his mustache down your neck. "But I need to get back to work."
You bit your lip and watched him reluctantly pull away from you and adjust himself. There was a little wet spot on his pants that absolutely thrilled you as you asked, "Where's my underwear?"
His smile was smug. "In my pocket. I'm gonna hang them in my locker at work like a little souvenir."
You gasped, your pussy still bare for him with your skirt hiked up. An embarrassingly needy little sound escaped you as he patted his right pocket.
"I hope you don't mind if the guys see them."
You pressed your lips together. You actually really liked that underwear. They were a stretchy white lace thong that you found comfortable. But if Bradley wanted to put them in his locker and think of you every time he hit the shower, then you were more than happy to let him have them.
"I don't mind," you whispered. "But you know you're going to make Bob blush, right?"
Bradley kissed your forehead and said, "Molly has broken him in, I think. He doesn't blush as much as he used to. Now, don't forget, we have plans for the Fourth of July. And I'll see you at your house later tonight after my practice."
You nodded and watched him leave as you stood up and pulled your skirt down. "Love you, Kitten," he called from your open door with his erection still visible in his pants before he strolled away.
You looked at the sandwich he left for you as your stomach growled. Your appetite was back again since talking to your lawyer, so you sat and ate it while you smiled at the spot on your desk where you just had an orgasm.
As soon as you pulled up the spreadsheet you had been working on, your phone vibrated on your desk next to the tulips he left for you. He sent you a photo of your white lace thong hanging up in his locker.
Bradley Bradshaw: I wasn't joking. I'm looking forward to getting lots of compliments on my new decoration.
You squeezed your thighs together and squealed.
--------------------------
Bradley had to rush back to base. When he stopped by the locker room to drop off his keys and wallet, he pulled your underwear out of his pocket. They were a little damp, and when he pressed them to his nose, your scent overwhelmed him. He should have fucking stayed long enough to bury his cock and his cum inside you. What was he thinking? A reprimand from one of the admirals would have been worth it.
But he had to keep his thoughts from wandering too much to you and Ev while Mav was lecturing. Because every time he thought about marrying you, he thought about being Ev's dad. And he really needed to not get too far ahead of himself, because he had no idea if you'd support that idea or not. Bradley got the impression that you wanted sole guardianship and legal rights to your son. And honestly, Bradley could also get behind that. One hundred percent.
When the lecture ended, Bob was waving his hand in front of Bradley's face. "You ready to head to practice?" he asked cautiously. "Is everything okay?"
"Yeah," Bradley grunted, jumping out of his seat. Today was the first practice for the rec league team, and Everett had bugged nonstop to come and watch. But Bradley wanted to get one good practice in with nobody there, just in case he ended up being terrible.
He walked with Bob back to the locker room to change into the navy blue hat and jersey with the number 1 on the back, deciding to skip the shower until later tonight. When he was changing his socks, he saw Bob's eyes wander to his locker, and then he quickly looked away.
"Nice panties," Jake said as he strolled past on his way to the showers.
"Thanks," Bradley replied, smirking, because he just knew this was going to get you all flustered when he told you later tonight.
He drove to practice, and thought about his plan for the Fourth of July. It would be perfect, and somehow, he wasn't even nervous. Because being with you felt right.
And then he pitched so well, both coaches pulled him aside after practice to tell him he's the best they had ever seen on a recreational team. And Bradley just had to laugh, because he was pretty sure he was still better at playing shortstop.
"Damn," Bob said in between gulps of his Gatorade. "Your arm is a cannon. I barely managed to hit that single."
"Thanks," Bradley said, rapidly throwing everything into his bag, just wanting to get to your house. And then he paused and really looked at Bob. "Holy shit," he mumbled as Bob adjusted his glasses and checked his phone with a smile. Molly must have texted him. Bob was deeply in love with Molly. Bob might perhaps be Bradley's brother-in-law one day.
"See you tomorrow," Bob told him with a nod as he hoisted his gear bag up onto his shoulder. And as he walked to the Bronco, Bradley hoped that Everett would be lucky enough to have Bob as his uncle.
----------------------------
It was late when Bradley got to your house. Everett was already in bed, and you were cleaning up the kitchen and starting to pack lunches for the morning. One more day of work this week, and then you and Everett were both off for Independence Day. And Bradley had invited you to Maverick's hangar for a party and fireworks.
Of course Everett couldn't wait. But that child idolized Bradley.
You heard his key in your front door, and your heart skipped around in your chest. "Hi, Kitten," Bradley whispered, dropping his stuff off next to the stairs. "Is Ev sleeping?" he asked, kissing you softly.
"Probably. I got him in bed about twenty minutes ago."
"I'm gonna go up and check on him," Bradley replied, quietly taking the stairs two at a time. God, you couldn't handle it. Tears filled your eyes. He loved you both, and you wanted him to move in with you in the worst way. But you were just going to have to wait. It would be worth waiting.
You could hear him come back downstairs a moment later with a little frown. "He was already asleep."
You threw your arms around his waist and squeezed him. "You can make him pancakes and drop him off at summer camp tomorrow. If you want to."
"Of course I want to," Bradley murmured against your hair. "I love your son."
You rubbed your cheek against his soft undershirt and melted into his embrace. "He loves you, too. And if you don't let him come watch you pitch next time, he might cry."
"Fuck. No," he groaned. "You know I can't stand the sight of him in tears. Almost rips my fucking heart out."
You laughed softly. "Guess we'll just have to come to your first game. Now, do you want a bedtime snack while you tell me about practice?"
"I sure do," he mumbled, backing you up against the kitchen island. "Let me finish you off? I had you for lunch, and now you can be my snack."
"Okay," you told him, pushing him away a few inches. He looked at you with wide, curious eyes. "Usually I don't allow food in my bed, but if I'm the snack then I suppose it's fine."
Bradley's eyes narrowed as he scooped you up and carried you upstairs. You had to stifle your laughter so you didn't wake Everett up. When Bradley dropped you onto your bed and climbed on top of you, he took your hands in his and kissed along your neck.
"Can we talk about the holiday for a minute?" he asked, and you rolled your eyes a little bit. He'd been asking incessantly about taking you to Maverick's and making sure you didn't have anything else planned for the day.
"Yes, Bradley. But I already told you, Ev and I are free the whole day."
"I wanna take you to the park in the morning," he whispered, his mustache tickling your ear as you enjoyed his delicious body weight. "I want you to see how good Ev is when I pitch to him."
You smiled and wrapped your legs around his hips. "Sounds perfect."
"And then we can head to the party at the hangar. Maverick is setting up a splash pad for the kids," he said, pressing his lips to yours with a grin.
"Are you going in it?" you asked. "You're an overgrown kid."
"Only if you do," he said as you rolled your hips against his. "You should wear that leopard print bathing suit you have."
You gasped and giggled. "The one I wore to the tee ball pool party? At the beginning of the season? When we had our first real kiss?"
"Hell yes," he hissed. "Couldn't stay away from you, Kitten. I was already in love with you."
You kissed him and held him tight. You couldn't pinpoint the moment you fell in love with him, but you knew you'd never be able to stop now.
--------------------------
Wednesday ended up being a rainy day, and everyone in the entire city seemed confused by it. Even Everett was out of sorts when you picked him up from summer camp.
"Is Bradley going to come over and play with us tonight?" he asked, staring out the car window as you drove him through the storm. "I wanted him to take me to the park."
He kept pouting as you told him, "He needed to get some stuff done at his apartment tonight." You wished he could wrap up whatever he needed to do early and come watch a movie instead. But he told you it was important.
"Well can we go over to his apartment?" Ev whined.
It struck you that you'd never once been there. And now you wondered if it looked the way you imagined it. Bradley told you a million times how much cozier your house was than his place, and you just shook your head. Because he could have moved in if he wanted to.
"Not tonight, Ev."
He was silent for the rest of the ride home, plainly annoyed with you for keeping him from Bradley. And then he was pretty quiet as you watched Finding Nemo together for the millionth time. But when you reminded him that tomorrow, if the weather was nice, all three of you were going to the park and then Maverick's party, he perked up.
"Bradley is really excited about the park tomorrow!" Everett said as he climbed into bed. "He's excited to show you something."
"Oh yeah?" you asked, tucking him in while the soft rain hit his window. "What does he want to show me?"
Everett laughed and rolled onto his side. "I can't tell you."
You sighed and kissed his cheek. It was probably something silly or something baseball related. "Well I guess I'll just have to wait then." But he was already starting to doze off, holding onto the stuffed Phanatic.
You were a true San Diegan. All the rain was making you tired. You thrived on sunny days and warm weather. When you went to plug your phone in before bed, you saw a text from Bradley.
Bradley Bradshaw: I can't wait to pick you up in the morning. Give Ev an extra bedtime kiss for me?
You had to laugh, because he seemed to have no concept of what a consistent bedtime for Everett was. You could already tell that if Bradley ever moved in, he and Ev would be outside playing until well after dark all the time, and you'd be the one reeling them in.
When you fell asleep, you slept hard. And you woke up to Everett in your room, climbing up into bed with you. "Mommy, I'm hungry."
It was pretty late, and Bradley was coming over to pick you up for the park, but at least the sun was shining today.
You stretched and pulled your son into a tight hug. "Cereal or eggs?" you asked as he snuggled up with you.
"Cereal," he mumbled, his voice muffled by the blankets. "Are you going to get up and put on makeup and a dress and stuff?"
You laughed and said, "We're just going to the park and then a splash pad party in the desert, Ev. I wasn't planning on getting too dressed up today. Why?"
"You should," he said, wiggling out of bed and running out of your room.
"Okay," you muttered to nobody. And a little while later, you were sipping coffee and eating cereal in your kitchen, still not dressed for the day when Bradley arrived.
"Why do you look so nice?" you asked when he let himself inside. He was wearing a snug fitting red and white golf shirt and chino shorts.
"Do I?" he asked, glancing down at himself as he went right to Ev and kissed his forehead. And you didn't even mind that you always got greeted second. Because when you got your kiss, it was on the lips and had your knees going weak.
"Hi," he whispered as you threaded your fingers through his hair. "I missed you last night."
How on earth did he make you this silly? Your heart was beating faster and your skin felt extra sensitive as he ran his big hand down your arm.
"I missed you, too."
Then he pulled away and looked you up and down. "Why aren't you dressed yet? We have a busy day, Kitten." And you finally went back upstairs to get changed as both of them pushed you out of the kitchen. You could hear them talking softly and laughing as you climbed the stairs.
When you came back down in some denim shorts with a white tank and a sheer white blouse, Bradley smiled at you before leading both of you out to the Bronco. Everett had his gear bag, and when Bradley opened the back tailgate, you saw all of his stuff there too.
"You brought a whole bucket of balls?" you asked, pointing to the bucket tucked behind his bag. "Are you going to make me play catcher for you guys again?"
"Yep," they replied in unison, making you laugh.
"Okay, but you know I'm not very good."
"You're stellar, Kitten. Aces, Baby," Bradley promised as he scooped Everett up and carried him around to his booster seat.
You tended to disagree, but if the two of them really wanted to play ball in the park all day, then you would just chase balls around and cheer them on. The ride to the park was filled with Everett asking Bradley questions, something your son never seemed to tire of. And as always, Bradley answered every single one of them the best he could without getting irritated at all.
At a red light, you reached for his hand and said, "I love you." He responded by stroking your fingers with his thumb as he hummed along to the radio. And soon you were at the park and unloading everything. You watched as the boys both put on their matching Phillies hats and took sips out of a bottle of Gatorade. They had a little routine now, and it melted your heart.
"Ready?" Bradley asked Everett and then you.
"Ready," you replied, carrying the bucket of baseballs for them. You followed them to the same shady area where you had played catcher before. The sun was strong today, but at least it wasn't too hot yet. Being in the shade would help with that.
"Ev, start stretching while I get your mom all set up," Bradley said, reaching into his bag and pulling out his catcher's mask and mitt.
"Hey," you said with a smile. "I remembered it's a mitt and not a glove!" you said, and Bradley pulled you tight to him for a kiss.
He hummed against your lips as he ran his empty hand down your back to squeeze your butt. "It's going to be important that you know these things, because Ev and I are going to be on this baseball shit forever now. We're about to get annoying as hell, Kitten."
"I don't mind," you said, looking up into his brown eyes that were always so sincere. "Please, annoy the shit out of me forever."
The smile that took over his face had you giggling while Everett ran around you in circles doing his own definition of warming up. Then Bradley mumbled, "Gotta keep this pretty face safe," while he fitted the catcher's mask around the back of your head. He slipped the too large mitt on your hand and kissed your neck. "All set now."
"Can we do it yet?" Ev asked, slowing his run down and picking up his bat. "Please?"
"Yeah, kiddo," Bradley replied, turning both of their hats backwards. "We can do it."
You eased yourself down into the uncomfortable position to catch the baseballs for them. But Everett was hitting most of them, which made your job kind of pointless. Bradley was telling Ev what each pitch was going to be before he threw it.
"Here comes a slider," he called out, and you watched your boyfriend's muscles tense up deliciously before he threw a pitch right to Everett. Your son hit it up in the air and Bradley caught it. "Pretty good! Let's try another slider." Then he threw the same pitch again, and Everett hit it over Bradley's head.
"I can't believe you're this good, Ev," you praised, because truly you could not. It was impressive the way he hit Bradley's fastball and curveball as well. You knew Bradley wasn't pitching hard or fast, but he was still pitching to Everett. And your seven year old son was hitting almost all of them.
"Okay, kiddo," Bradley called out. "This one is the special pitch I've been working on. Are you ready for it?"
"Ready, Coach!" Everett called out in excitement. He turned and looked at you with a smile before he returned to his batting stance, and you made sure you were all set, too.
You weren't sure what kind of pitch was a special pitch, and Bradley was really taking his time getting ready to throw it. He kept shifting his weight from one foot to the other. He looked a little nervous, but you didn't know why. It wasn't like you and Ev were going to tell him he did a bad job of throwing a new pitch he was working on. Honestly, you were excited to see it.
When he finally took a deep breath, he met your eyes before winding up to throw it. The ball sailed right to your mitt, and you caught it cleanly. Everett didn't swing at it, and now he was looking at you with his bat hanging down at his side. When you looked up at Bradley, he was staring at you. Then you noticed that the ball was more red than white as you dumped it out of the mitt and into your empty hand.
"What is this?" you mumbled, turning it around in your hand. It was covered in little red hearts that looked like they had been drawn on with a sharpie, and there was something written in Bradley's handwriting.
Will you marry me?
You gasped and looked up at Bradley, but now he was down on one knee with his glove on the grass next to him. Everett was bouncing around next to you as you read the ball again. "Mommy?" he asked quietly, and you looked up at his eager face.
Heart racing, you stood up and shook the mitt off your hand as you looked toward Bradley. You yanked the mask off your head as you ran toward him shouting, "Are you serious?"
His smile looked a little unsure as you tackled him onto the grass and straddled his waist. His Phillies cap rolled away as you looked down into his perfect face.
"Yes! It worked!" Everett screamed, and a few seconds later, Bradley was holding both of you on top of him in the grass, alternating between kissing your lips and Everett's forehead.
You were still clutching the baseball in your right hand as Bradley put the ring on your left finger. It was a little big, but it was beautiful. "It looks like a baseball," you said as he grinned.
"That's why we picked that one!" Everett informed you, looking happier than you'd ever seen him.
And then Bradley kissed your finger and whispered, "I'm going to love both of you forever."

Fic: A Woman Scorned - Part 17
Fic: A Woman Scorned - Part 17
Pairing: Billy Russo x Reader
Rating: R for language and smut.
Words: ~3300 words.
Summary: You’ve been sleeping with Billy Russo for a few months now. Knowing his aversion to emotional commitments, you’re satisfied with your clandestine arrangement until you catch him having dinner with Dinah Madani one night. Then it finally dawns on you. It’s not that he doesn’t want to commit, he just doesn’t want to commit to *you*.
Billy may think he knows you, but he has no idea what he’s just lost

Part 1   Part 2   Part 3   Part 4   Part 5   Part 6   Part 7   Part 8   Part 9   Part 10   Part 11   Part 12   Part 13   Part 14   Part 15  Part 16
Part 17
Billy couldn’t stop gawking at you, wondering how it was possible you grew more beautiful each time he saw you. The red wrap dress you were wearing accentuated all your curves, and it took every bit of willpower he had not to rip it off of you and fuck you senseless right then and there. Unfortunately, he had to behave himself. Caravan was a pretty bouji place that had recently been labelled as one of the hottest restaurants in Manhattan and he had to pull a few strings to get a last-minute reservation for tonight. But seeing the smile on your face when you realized this was where you were dining had been completely worth all the hassle.
As the hostess guided the two of you to your table, he noticed a few assholes at the bar admiring you from afar. Immediately he snaked his arm around your waist to draw you in closer. You were his. If he could he’d pluck out every one of those fuckers’ eyes so they never made the mistake of looking at you again. Better yet, he’d keep you locked behind closed doors. Of course you wouldn’t agree to anything like that because you were too goddamn independent for your own good.
“What’s wrong?” you asked, taking a seat at your designated table.
Billy’s attention returned to your face as he followed suit, his gaze inhaling you in. “You look too hot. Too many assholes staring at you,” he grumbled.
The worried look on your face was replaced with a beaming smile, one that made his cock twitch.
“You’re being ridiculous” you remarked, scanning the menu.
His eyes drifted down to your chest, the swell of your soft, supple breasts just begging to be kissed and licked by him.
“Stop staring at my boobs, Billy,” you chastised even as a small smile graced your lips. “This is a proper first date. You can’t just ogle me like that. You have to behave like a gentleman.”
He quirked his eyebrow. “Sweetheart, I’ve never been that.”
“Well, try,” you ordered.
The waitress came by with the bottle of red wine you’d requested and poured some in both of your glasses. He noticed the redhead giving him a friendly smile, her green eyes lingering on him for a second too long. Fine, yeah, she may have been hot but she wasn’t you. No one was. So while he would have happily slipped her his number in the past, now the idea of being with someone who wasn’t you no longer excited him.
Once she left, he took the opportunity to move a few inches closer to you. What he really wanted was to get on his knees and bury his head between your legs, but something told him eating you out in in the crowded restaurant wouldn’t go over very well with you.
“I think she likes you.”
Hand propped on the back of your chair, he started playing with your hair. “Who?”
“Our waitress. She didn’t look at me once, her eyes were on you the entire time.”
He leaned in, ecstatic at the thought of you acting possessive. Even though you’d confessed to having feelings for him, Billy still worried you were ready to bolt at any moment. To see you jealous meant you genuinely cared and he didn’t have to worry about you leaving him. “She’s not my type. I have my eyes on someone else.”
You made a show of looking around the restaurant. “Oh, is Madani here too?”
“Funny,” he retorted, taking your hand in his.
“Your ginger’s lucky. I’m dressed way too nice or I’d take my knife and stab her with it.”
He smirked. “You’re vicious when you’re jealous.”
“I’m not jealous. I just don’t like bad service.”
“Bullshit.”
“Billy, you’re hot. You know that. All the women here are checking you out. If I freaked out every time someone did that, I’d have a breakdown.”
He wanted to destroy the fucking world at the thought of someone even looking at you but apparently you were simply ambivalent about him. “So it’s that easy for you? Your brain tells you to turn off a feeling and your heart just does it?” Even to his own ears he sounded bitter. “Guess you’re not all that invested in me.”
Your eyebrow quirked up, apparently surprised by his edgy tone. “Do you want me to go nuts?”
“Just want you to give a damn.”
“You think I don’t?” you snapped. “Every time she looks at you I want to tear her hair out. Even though the rational part of me knows she’s probably just flirting with you because it’s part of her job or she’s hoping for big tips. Or maybe she really does want to fuck you. Either way, I want to punch her across the face. Happy?” You gulped down your wine.
Grinning, he squeezed your hand. “Then why not just tell me that? Why act like you don’t care?”
The agitated expression on your face was replaced with tenderness, your eyes soft. “Just because I don’t have a jealous fit doesn’t mean I don’t care. I just
” You exhaled a sigh, and he sensed this was difficult for you. “I express my emotions differently than you.”
“I noticed. You put on an act while holding everything in.”
“Yeah, I guess.”
“But I want you, the real you, not the version everyone else sees.”
“It’s not that easy, Billy.”
He brought your palm to his lips. “I’d never told anyone about my mother.”
“You didn’t tell me either,” you pointed out.
“You found out anyway, and I’m so fucking glad you did. Otherwise I wouldn’t have realized I could be real with you.” He placed a tender kiss on your skin. “I don’t want to hide anything from you, Y/N.”
“Really?”
“Yeah.”
“Then tell me about William Rawlins.”
Your request gave him pause, his eyes roaming over your face. He’d taken painstaking measures to keep his partnership with Rawlins a secret yet you’d discovered it. “What do you want to know?”
“He gave you a lot of money.”
“I earned that money,” he said in a defensive tone. “He and I were partners for a while. Then he died.”
“You went to a lot of trouble to hide your connection to him.”
“You found out about it though.”
You shrugged your shoulders. “I’m good at what I do.”
“Yeah, too good,” he muttered. He released your hand, watching you intently. “So what do you want to know?”
You leaned in closer, your voice barely above a whisper. He was momentarily distracted by the sensation of your tits pressed against him but he forced himself to concentrate.
“What happened to Rawlins, did you have anything to do with it?”
Billy took a swig of his wine. “Why do you think that?”
You quirked your eyebrow at him. “Knifed by someone in the parking lot. They never found the guy who did it.”
“He had a lot of enemies,” he pointed out.
“Okay, so maybe I was wrong.”
He studied you for several seconds, trying to decide if he should take the leap or not. “You’re not wrong.”
Realization dawned on your face as the truth set in. “Why did you do it?”
“You sure you want to know?”
“I’m asking, aren’t I?”
So he told you, about Operation Cerberus, his role in it and the money he earned, how he’d eliminated Rawlins a year ago when the prick plotted to take out Frank and his family. To this day Frank didn’t know about Billy’s partnership with Rawlins or how close he came to dying and he intended to keep it that way.
Throughout his confession his eyes were glued to your face, gauging your reactions. The part of him determined to do anything to be a success, the one who didn’t let society’s morals get in the way of his ambitions, would never be accepted by his closest friends. Despite the myriad of reasons to have kept that side of himself hidden, he didn’t want to do that with you. Because as risky as it was to be so open with you, it was also exhilarating. There was no one in this world he’d ever been this honest with and that kind of intense connection with you was addictive. He wanted you to know everything about him, all of the dark and vicious thoughts that ran through his head, the burning ambition that kept pushing him forward. He wanted you to know him inside and out and he wanted the same from you.
Before he could prod you to speak your mind the server came by with your dishes, setting your meals on the table. The redhead took her time, all the whilst your gaze was focused on the table, avoiding his. Billy’s heart started to pound in his chest, he was suddenly filled with doubt. Had he made a mistake in telling you the truth? Did he just completely fuck this up? Every second the goddamn redhead lingered at the table felt like an eternity when all he wanted was to shake you out of your stupor.
The second the server left, he moved in on you. “Are you gonna say something?”
You finally looked at him, your forehead burrowed. “We need to do a better job of hiding your history with Rawlins. I found it, that means someone else can too.”
“You gonna help me with that?”
You shook your head ‘yes’. “Yeah, I have to. You need me.”
“What I did doesn’t bother you?”
You exhaled a heavy sigh. “Of course it does, but there’s nothing I can do about it. You’ve seen me at my worst and you didn’t judge me. I won’t do that to you either. Besides, when the universe deals you a shitty hand you’ve got to find other ways to even out your odds.”
A strange feeling of warmth flooded over him, compelling him to angle forward and kiss you on the lips.
You pulled away a second later, smiling at him as you rubbed the corner of his mouth. “This lipstick isn’t kiss-proof.”
“I don’t care.” Wicked visions of you flashed through his mind. Your bold red lips wrapped around his cock, sucking him off the way he liked it. His cum spread over your tits, your neck, your lips. The taste of your sweet, delicious cunt on his tongue as he fucked you with his mouth. The heat of your tongue against his as he rammed into you over and over-
“Stop looking at me like that,” you warned.
“Then stop looking so hot,” he snarked.
You smiled, biting down on your bottom lip.
It blew his mind how sweet and shy you were when he paid you compliments, like you didn’t expect that from him. Obviously he needed to fix that, because you deserved to know how insanely beautiful you were all the time.
“Has Anvil been okay without Rawlins?” you asked, taking a bite out of your butternut squash ravioli.
Swallowing his steak, he wiped his mouth with a napkin. “It was tough for a while but we’ve been doing pretty well the last few months.”
“You should be proud of what you’ve accomplished, Billy. You took a big risk going into business for yourself and you made it work. That’s amazing. I could never do that.”
Billy’s insides radiated with happiness. Other than Curtis and Frank he never really had people who genuinely believed in him so to have you cheering him on was exalting. Especially considering you were great at what you did and he had so much respect for you.
He poured himself and you more wine before reaching for your hand again. “I think you could. You’d make a shitload of money if you freelanced.”
You shook your head ‘no’. “No way, I’m too much of a coward to take a risk like that.” You took a sip of your wine. “Plus I get to go to Paris for work.”
“Or you could go to Paris on vacation and not work.”
“Then I’d have to pay for it,” you pointed out, grinning. “When you grow up the way I did, you learn to appreciate free things.”
Your enthusiasm was infectious, he couldn’t hep but smile back. A part of him was hoping this would be the perfect opening for you to talk more about your childhood, about everything you went through, because he desperately wanted you to trust him as much as he trusted you with his secrets.
“I’ll be there for two weeks,” you continued, oblivious to his disappointment. “We’re going to scout out locations for the new branch and-”
“We?” Billy interjected.
You cast him a quick glance. “Roger’s coming with me on the trip.”
The jealousy that struck him felt like a swift kick to his gut. Images of you and that goddamn bastard traipsing around and enjoying romantic date nights in Paris assaulted his mind. Agitated, he pulled his hand from yours. “I bet that fucker can’t wait to be alone with you.”
“Billy, come on. You can’t be serious.”
“How would you feel if I took off with someone who wanted to fuck me?”
“First of all, he doesn’t want me.”
His jaw clenched with frustration as he glared at you. “I’ve seen the way he looks at you. He’s thought about fucking you.”
“Even if he does, I don’t want him.” You reached out to cup his face, your voice so soft and tender in your attempts to placate him that he momentarily forgot how upset he was. “You really think I’d jeopardize what we have for a fling with Roger? I wouldn’t do that.”
“Then don’t go. Turn him down.”
Irritation flickered over your face, he could tell you were done coddling him. “Billy, you have no right to ask me that. I’d never interfere with your work.”
Underneath all that jealousy he knew you were right. As much as he despised the idea of you going away to Paris with another guy, he couldn’t demand that you not go on work trips. If you did that to him, it would annoy the fuck out of him. Yet despite his rational side recognizing he was asking for too much, he couldn’t help but feel bitter. “That asshole’s gonna make a move on you, I know it.”
“What if he does? What do you think is gonna happen?”
Hs eyes met yours, urgently seeking some kind of validation from you. “You tell me.”
“Do you think I’m going to sleep with him?”
He flinched. “Don’t talk about fucking another guy, please. You’re gonna make me lose my appetite.”
You took his hand and placed it over your left breast, probably to distract him from all the disgusting images that were running through his brain. “I wanted you so badly and even then it took me like a month to fuck you. Trust me, I’m not going to sleep with him when I’m not even attracted to him.”
Spotting the earnestness in your eyes, the knot in his stomach finally loosened. Roger may have had a hard-on for you but Billy knew you felt nothing for the fucker. He’d noticed that even at the night of the gala. So that meant he had to trust you, there was no reason not to. “Call me every night when you’re there,” he grumbled.
“Every night? You’re probably going to start blocking my calls,” you laughed.
He booped your nose. “Every. Fucking. Night.”
You beamed. “Fine.” A wicked glint flashed in your eyes, a seductive smile on your lips as you slowly moved his hand lower, his fingers now on your nipple. “Hey, just ‘cause you’re not there with me doesn’t mean we can’t have fun.”
He stroked your nipple over the fabric of your dress, enjoying how the nub hardened under his touch, the way your breath hitched in your throat when he continued his ministrations. With his other hand he tucked your hair behind your ear, whispering to you. “Phone sex is alright, but nothing beats this.” His tongue curved along the shell of your ear, and you trembled against him. “Right?”
The waitress seemed to come out of nowhere this time to ask how your meals were, and you jumped back. Disappointed, he sighed.
“Food was great. Thank you,” you replied, smiling stiffly at the redhead.
“Can I get you anything else?”
“Privacy would be great,” Billy muttered.
You kicked him under the table. “Dessert menu?”
“Sure. I’ll bring it right over,” the waitress said, taking your plates away.
“I’ll give you all the sugar you want once we get outta here,” he murmured seductively, caressing your thigh.
You giggled, rolling your eyes. “That’s a terrible line!” You took his hand and removed it from your thigh. “Billy, I’m not sleeping with you tonight.”
“Why not?”
“Because it’s our first date and I don’t put out on the first date.”
“Now that’s a terrible line,” he fired back, mimicking your earlier tone.
“Also, we already had sex this morning.”
“So? I’m greedy. I can’t get enough of you.” There was that shy smile of yours again, and he reached out to give you a sweet peck on the cheek. “You blush every time I tease you.”
“I do?”
“Yeah, it’s adorable.”
Your cheeks grew even more red. “I’m not used to it from you. A part of me still thinks you’re bullshitting me.”
Billy stiffened. “Really?”
“I know you’re not playing me,” you reassured. “It’s on me, not you. I just have a hard time accepting when good things happen.”
The waitress came by with the dessert menu. He briefly glanced at it before ordering a slice of pecan pie while you ordered a piece of chocolate cake.
As soon as the redhead left, he broached the topic with you again. “I’m not gonna hurt you, babe. You have to believe that.”
You didn’t look at him, your eyes fixed somewhere on his chest. “I do. You were so pissed off at me last night. I honestly expected you to hit me because you were so angry. But you didn’t.”
It made him sick to his stomach that you actually thought him capable of hitting you. It hadn’t even occurred to him that you would worry about that, but of course you would. With your childhood it made perfect sense, he was just a fucking idiot who hadn’t realized how much it still impacted you. “I’m never gonna lay a hand on you. I swear.” His eyes locked with yours, hoping you can sense how much he meant those words.
“I believe you.”
His voice was insistent, his gaze boring into you. “Why did you think I would?”
Your eyes wavered from his eyes to his lips for a long time, the atmosphere thick with tension. Your facial expressions ran the gamut of painful emotions, from uncertainty to fear to sheer panic.
It finally sank in that maybe the reason you were keeping the truth from him had noting to do with if you trusted him or not. Maybe you didn’t want to be assaulted by memories from the past that caused you so much pain. The last thing he wanted was for you to experience that hell again. Regretting his demanding tone, his hands caressed down the length of your arms. “You don’t have to tell me, It’s okay.”
Your eyes brimmed with aching vulnerability as you looked up at him. “I want to
 I just
give me some time, okay?” You pressed your lips against his, giving him the softest, sweetest kiss. “I’ve been looking forward to tonight for so long, I don’t want to ruin it, you know?”
His heart felt full, his mind reeling with wonderment at the thought of you truly reciprocating his feelings. His arms wrapped around you as you sank into him, burying your face in his chest. His fingers stroked the back of your hair, murmuring soft, soothing words to you. Somewhere in the distance he heard the server’s voice trying to interject, but he didn’t give a damn.  He was yours and you were his and nothing was going to ruin that. Nothing.
Part 18
A/N - I realize not much happened in this chapter but I just reallly wanted to write a dialogue heavy part where they simply get to know and enjoy each other. I think they’ve earned some fluff. LOL.
As always, thank you for your kind words of encouragement. Please let me know your thoughts.

The sticky summer heat makes wearing a suit twice as hellish than it already is. Yoongi tugs at his collar fruitlessly, hoping for a scant amount of air conditioning to cool his overheated skin. He fidgets in his seat, not going unnoticed by the equally sweaty man beside him.
"Hyung, please stop fidgeting. The ceremony is about to start," Namjoon scolds, but it's hard to take him seriously when there are droplets of sweat running down his brow like a waterfall.
"Tell me again why on earth our friends decided to have their wedding at a fucking beach? During the worst heatwave of the century?" Yoongi hisses, running his damp handkerchief across his face. He is sure that he will look like he'd just taken a dive in the sea, suit and all, once the wedding photos get circulated around.
"Oh, you know how our beloved Taetae is. He's had this entire dream wedding planned since early November, and it's always easy to plan summer weddings when it's cold in the winter," Seokjin muses, pushing his expensive shades up his nose.
Yoongi notes in irritation that his hyung does not have a hair out of place, as per usual. The bastard never seems to look bad, not even under the sweltering heat of the devil's ass beating on their backs.
"Dream wedding or not, this shit sucks ass," Yoongi murmurs, pouting not unlike a child.
"Something tells me our little Yoonie is mad because he doesn't have his emotional support Y/N by his side," Seokjin coos condescendingly, squishing Yoongi's sweaty bread cheeks. "But don't worry, Yoongi-chi. You'll see your beloved Y/N walk down the aisle and you can jack off to the thought of seeing her in your own wedding when you get home tonight—"
Seokjin's words are cut off by a swift punch to the nuts, courtesy of Yoongi. Namjoon, his own beloved husband, does nothing to comfort him. Instead, he points to the doors, where a handsomely sunkissed Taehyung nervously makes his way to the front of the altar. "Look, Taehyung's here!"
Taehyung makes a stop a few aisles behind them, saying hello to a few acquaintances before making his way over to them. "Hey hyungs! Thanks for coming," Taehyung smiles brightly, reaching over to each of them to give them a hug. Despite the uncomfortable sensation of damp cheeks meeting neck, Taehyung is kind enough (or delusional enough) not to mention their haggard appearances.
"Of course, Taehyungie! Wouldn't miss it for the world," Seokjin grins back, slapping him amiably on the back. "I hope you aren't getting cold feet on your big day."
"Of course not! I've been waiting for this day my entire life," Taehyung says, sighing dreamily. "I still remember your wedding like it was yesterday. I was absolutely itching for my own day to come back then, so I almost can't believe it's finally here."
“As happy as I am for you, could you not have chosen a worse place to have a wedding? I mean, come on! I am literally swimming in my own bodily fluids right now,” Yoongi whines, trying but failing to sound like he’s just joking.
Lucky for him, his entire friend group is used to his little hissy fits. “Oh, don’t worry Yoongi! I’m sorry for taking Y/N away, but I need my best woman only for today. Y/N will be yours again by tomorrow and you’ll forget about being a sad lonely loser!” Taehyung says cheerily.
While Seokjin and Namjoon laugh in agreement, Yoongi splutters, indignant. “Why does everyone think I am unable to function as a human being unless Y/N is here?”
“Uh, because you don’t?” Namjoon says matter-of-factly.
Yoongi fumes, but doesn’t retort. Seokjin mimics the sound of a whip with his mouth, prompting another punch to the nuts courtesy of Yoongi.
“Anyway, I hope you guys enjoy the reception later. If you don’t like the food, blame Seokjin since he’s the one who helped choose the menu,” Taehyung says.
“I mostly did it because I refuse to eat McDonalds during a wedding, thank you very much,” Seokjin sniffs.
“What’s wrong with McDonalds? That’s where hubby and I met in the first place,” Taehyung argues, but he knows he’s fighting a losing game.
Seokjin huffs. “Fine, be that way. Just don’t come crying to me when you and your husband get the Mickey D Shitspalooza during your honeymoon.”
“Husband-to-be,” Yoongi corrects, just to be an asshole. When Yoongi apologizes later, he’ll say it was the heat making him an asshole and his friends will call his bullshit.
“Semantics! What’s the difference between 30 minutes and now, anyway?” Taehyung laughs, waving him off. “Anyway! Gotta get into position! I’ll see you guys later!”
The trio bid their good lucks and blessings before settling back into their seats. The buzz from the crowd slowly dies down as people start to get into place. From one of the side doors, Yoongi notices a swish of a pink skirt flutter just out of view.
Call it Y/N-sense or whatever, but Yoongi already knows that it’s you even before your full frazzled form makes an entrance, your perfectly manicured hands gripping the door with urgency. Yoongi immediately notices the furrow in your brow as you quietly beckoned Taehyung to come closer, whispering something into his ear.
“There’s something wrong,” Yoongi mutters, watching the two of you. Seokjin follows his gaze, his own shoulders hunching tensely.
Taehyung pulls away from you, an uncharacteristic scowl on his face. He shakes his head, pondering for a moment before shrugging his shoulders. His face morphs back into its former sunny self, but Yoongi can see the tinge of anxiety tugging at Taehyung’s lips.
Yoongi tries to grab your attention, and just like him, you also have a Yoongi-sense coded deep within you. Your eyes meet, and Yoongi can’t help but smile. It takes you a beat longer than usual to smile back, your eyes shifting uneasily towards the main door of the chapel.
He turns to look, and immediately understands the reason for your anxiety. “Oh,” he mutters lamely, his blood running cold.
Seokjin and Namjoon overhear him and turn to look as well. “Oh dear,” Seokjin gasps a little too loudly.
Yoongi lets out a deep, shuddering breath, the collar of his dress shirt feeling more and more like a noose.
“What’s the difference between 30 minutes and now?” Yoongi repeats Taehyung’s words, watching as a tall, young man make his way to their aisle of seats. Familiar doe eyes meet his, hesitance pouring out of the boy in waves. He offers up a smile, but Yoongi is too stunned to return one of his own.
“An ex,” Yoongi answers his own question, coming face to face with Jeon Jungkook.
“Hello, hyungs,” Jungkook greets politely, a tip-lipped smile on his face. “The usher told me that these seats were for close friends?”
There’s another question somewhere in there, Yoongi thinks. Are you a close friend, Jeon Jungkook?
“Of course, Jungkookie. Take the seat beside Yoongi-chi,” Namjoon snaps out of his stupor faster than the rest of them, scooting backward to let Jungkook pass through.
Jungkook nods meekly, fumbling his way until he’s seated arm-to-arm with Yoongi. The four of them sit in awkward silence, which worsens Yoongi’s fidgeting by tenfold.
Eventually, he breaks. “Well, this is going to be fun, huh?” Yoongi says, laughing awkwardly.
“Hyung, please don’t joke about these kinds of things,” Namjoon says through gritted teeth.
“I... I don’t intend to make a fuss,” Jungkook murmurs, eyes downcast. From the corner of his eye, Yoongi notes his hunched back, his clasped hands. For a split second, he sees a shy 18-year old freshman from a time since past.
The chapel is thrumming. Everyone has their eyes and ears on them, and it makes Yoongi want to claw at his skin until his nails meet bone and then some. He goes to stand, but Seokjin is quick enough to pull him down back to his seat. “Don’t even think about it,” Seokjin spit at him, his grip on his arm deathly.
The problem with guilt, Yoongi wants to tell him, is that I’ve never been good at dealing with it.
When he meets eyes with you, you nod in understanding. No one else in this room understands the need to run as much as you did. The muscles in his thighs ache as he restrains himself from bolting out of there as quickly as he can.
The problem is that he already knew this was bound to happen. Everyone in this chapel knew it was bound to happen, and some of them might have been excited. Nothing flows easier than gossip, and Yoongi knows that better than anyone else.
What no one knows, however, was that it was his fault that this happened in the first place.
“It’s not your fault,” you remind him. “It seldom is.” Endlessly, you will remind him of this.
But it is, he argues.
It is his fault that Jeon Jungkook isn’t walking down the aisle, and after all these years, forgiveness still does not come easy to Min Yoongi.
Guilt incarnate speaks before he can do anything. “I... Maybe this wasn’t a good idea,” Jungkook says, already stepping over their feet in his haste to get out
“No, Jungkookie—” Seokjin starts, but his words fall on deaf ears as Jungkook’s feet propel him out of the hall as fast as his long legs can take him. His footsteps sound loud in these hallowed halls, and it feels like they echo for eons inside Yoongi’s head.
From the altar, no one notices the way Taehyung has his arm outstretched, almost like he’s about to run after him. No one except for one pair of eyes, whose heart breaks at the sight.
“Taehyung,” you whisper, placing a gentle hand on his arm. He lowers it immediately, without a fight.
He swallows thickly. “I know.” He bows his head sadly.
The chatter returns, louder than ever. The eyes refuse to leave Yoongi and his friends, and eventually, Seokjin gets sick of it. “Why is everyone staring at us, huh? Got something to say?” he snaps angrily.
Ashamed, the guests all turn to the front, the polite silence returning with a vengeance. Yoongi almost wishes the noise had stayed, something to drown out the mess of thoughts running through his head.
“I fucking hate weddings,” Yoongi says to himself, quiet enough that no one will hear. When he closes his eyes, all he feels is the tightness of his collar, the trail of sweat running down his back, and the doe eyes of a boy he used to care about.

“That’s what I do,” Scott agreed. “But I do that so none of you have to,” He added. Scott knew that if the roles were reversed, he would’ve grown wings and flown to them if he had to. Being on the other side was unbearable. He hated himself for putting the looks on all of their faces. “Ah,” Scott said, his stomach dropping to his feet when he realized just how far out of hand this had gotten. Sophie called? If Eleanor wasn’t going to kill him, then Sophie must be sharpening her knives. He wasn’t sure which was worse. “She should know better than me that this isn’t anything new. Dunno why she’d bother you with it,” He grumbled. “Once again proving me point that me honesty is a problem for you,” He said, then chuckled to himself. “Right, because these are the conditions that she’d want to—you know what?” He huffed, and put his hands up in surrender. “You got what you wanted. So let it be,” He griped, then crossed his arms. “You think I don’t know what they used to say—what they still say about her?” He spat. He felt guilty every day for not being there, for removing a piece of her armor. “This is what it’s like,” Scott replied before he could stop himself. He immediately regretted it. They got on well enough. The lights mostly stayed on, and he usually had food in his belly. He was lucky to have even that much. “Because I don’t want you to,” He countered. “That’s what I’m supposed to do,” He said, and then put a hand up before she could argue. “I just am,” He added, silently pleading for her to just let him have this one. Now, when he imagined his eternity in Hell, it was going to a whole lot like this day. “Well, you’re gonna get more of it than you’ll want to handle in about—“ He paused, looking down at this watch. “Eleven-sh hours?” He concluded. Scott was never sure how to talk about his mother. Things were easier with Ivy because she’d always known Erica. She’d grown up with a house full of Ericas. As a kid, he didn’t think Eleanor could understand. Now, it just felt too far gone to even mention. “It is,” Scott said, then heaved a heavy sigh. “Which is yet another reason why this circus didn’t need to happen,” He said confidently. “Trust me.”
“The cost of having a sexy boyfriend is that he’s gonna drive you nuts,” Isla said with a laugh. “It’s a fair trade if you ask me,” She added, then gave Eleanor’s side a little poke. “I think Scott’s gentleman enough to at least pretend that your punch really landed,” She added with a smirk. “I keep hearing all these stories about young Scott. I’m dying to figure out how to bring him to the surface,” Isla pouted. She couldn’t help but be curious about that version of Scott, the one that seemed to be a polar opposite of the one she knew. “Oh, there’s no doubt that Scotty’s intelligent,” Isla argued. “But that doesn’t mean he’s not fucking stupid,” She added with a giggle. “I mean, it’s hard to know how much of that would’ve even been true,” She agreed, shrugging. “Because it’s a who said what to them who heard this and said that to the next one, ya know?” She said. “And besides, what really matters is the person you know. So long as they’re not like—a secret evil person or whatever,” She chuckled. “I can’t say that I’m totally surprised that Scott’s so protective of his mom. He’s so protective of all of us, she must have it tenfold,” Isla said, hoping Eleanor wouldn’t get offended for her to be arguing Scott’s side. “My love, I’ve known some crazies that would’ve come in screaming and causing a scene. You kept your screams to a whisper. Didn’t even catch a glance from the people around you. That’s grace,” She laughed. “You know Scotty’s saying the same about you, right?” She teased. “Mr. And Mrs. Stubborn,” She added with a smirk. “I’m your Emotional Support Isla,” She said, puffing out her chest with pride. “It’s my job,” She grinned, then gave Eleanor a squeeze. “I already knew it before, but this just cemented it,” Isla said, and smiled dreamily between Eleanor and Scott. “You two are gonna make it. I’m an expert with these things.”
“I know it means fuck-all to her, but I can’t really see the point in all of you wasting the money and time to fly to Scotland, just to turn around and fly right back before the weekend’s through,” He said with a sigh. “This is—“ Scott paused, trying to think carefully of how he wanted to proceed. “I’m gonna get to the hospital, they’re gonna let me sign her out, and we’re gonna drop her off on our way back to the airport,” He explained. “Doesn’t even make for a holiday for you all,” He added with a sigh. “We’re ultimately going to be fine,” Scott agreed. “We’re just not thrilled with each other at the moment,” He added with a sad chuckle. “Gotta find some silver lining in you all coming,” He chuckled. He was already having a vision of Ewan knocking his and Sam’s heads together. “Oh, I’m sure you’re gonna love him,” He teased. “Life would be a hell of a lot quieter,” Scott replied with a snicker. The truth was, now that he knew he had a brother, there was no life without him. Scott would sooner travel to Hades and drag Sam back rather than live any more life without him. Not that he’d ever let Sam know. “She’s got shit taste, clearly,” Scott agreed with a laugh. “The poor lass,” He added, shaking his head. He chuckled at Sam’s look when Isla came up. He wondered if he had the same stupid look when someone brought up Eleanor. Hopefully Sam would catch up faster than he did. “It’s hard to be upset when you’re around that girl too long,” He chuckled. “Never said it was,” He said, then shook his head. “I just don’t want anyone to. I can handle it.”
As they made their way from the bar with the boys, Isla gave Sam’s arm a little squeeze to hold him back a step. “How did it go with Scott?” Isla asked quietly, keeping an eye on Eleanor and Scott to make sure that they didn’t hear. “This is all such a mess, I feel awful for the both of them,” She said with a quiet sigh. “I’m just hoping that they settle down on this flight. If not, I’m putting melatonin in both of their drinks and forcing them to relax,” She joked. “I’m excited to see this side of Scott’s life. I’m sure you must be ten times more excited,” She said, and gave Sam a little side-hug. “I’m also really excited that it might snow while we’re there. I’ve never actually seen snow before, somehow,” She chuckled. “Been everywhere but the cold-weather countries.”
Scott’s body felt like it weighed a million pounds as he dropped himself into his seat. He was starting to feel the gravity of what was really happening. On top of Eleanor’s desperation to connect with Erica, he also started to worry about Sam. If he looked too closely, he might start putting together two-and-two and start a conversation that Scott wanted to have even less than one about his mother. He pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed. This was all more than he was prepared for. He tried not to be resentful of Erica for being the very reason that all of this started in the first place. But he learned long ago that blaming Erica got him nowhere but deeper in the hole. He was so lost in his head that he’d barely registered what Eleanor had said. “Let’s uh—“ He started, then heard the tone of her voice. He wanted to kill the guy that caused it. “Let’s just cross that bridge when we get there, okay?” He asked. “If we’ve got time before the flight home or something,” He said mindlessly. “You’re going to sleep too, right?” Scott said, then kissed Eleanor’s forehead. “I love you, Len,” Scott murmured, then put a hand on her thigh. Once Eleanor reclined, Scott leaned over to take a glance at Sam and Isla, then gave his brother a short nod. It felt so foreign to sit in a seat so lush. It might’ve been even more comfortable than the bed he’d grown up sleeping on. Though he tried to fight it, Scott felt himself starting to nod off.
“That’s ridiculous,” Eleanor said, fighting the urge to roll her eyes again. “I love you—we love you. You worry about people you love. It’s just what you do,” she said with a shrug and a hefty sigh. “No,” she began, “Sophie asked me to come with you because she’s worried.” Eleanor didn’t want to elaborate. She didn’t want to dive into Erica’s condition right now when they were already so tense. It wasn’t worth the extra headache. “Please don’t say things like that,” she said, and her bottom lip wobbled again. Although Eleanor knew he was just feeling very sore at the moment, she didn’t like him suggesting such a grim outlook about their future together. “Your honesty isn’t a good enough answer. You can’t possibly think that I’d let Erica get away from me this time around, did you?” Eleanor asked. “No, of course not. But every time I even broach the subject of your mother when we’re home you walk away from me. I can’t let you walk away from this conversation anymore,” she said sternly, even if her voice was shaking. Eleanor immediately cringed at Scott’s reaction, and reached a tentative hand out to touch his arm. “I’m—I’m sorry. I didn’t mean for that to come out like that—oh, Scott,” she stammered, taking a deep breath and giving his bicep a little squeeze. “I don’t care what anyone else has to say about your mother besides you. The only person I ever wanted to hear about her from is you. What it’s like for you. Because you are the most important person in the world to me. Fuck everyone else and their big gobs,” Eleanor said. “How is it different? Why can’t I care for you in the same way you care for me?” she asked. As much as she felt like she understood Scott, there were times like this, where he felt a world away from her. And she hated it. “Antimony, my darling,” she whispered, bringing his hand to her lips to press a soft kiss to his knuckles. “Don’t lie to me,” she muttered against his skin. “No matter how messy or ugly things are with you mother, I’m not going anywhere. I—I can’t go anywhere. Nothing is going to scare me away, I promise. You know I’m here for you forever, don’t you?” she asked, looking up at him with an earnest expression. “And I know you don’t want to hear it, and maybe this is too general to even say but,” she gave his hand a squeeze, “everything is going to be okay.” Eleanor recalled saying those words to him thousands of times, and every time she did she didn’t know if everything was going to be okay, but she still said it. She didn’t know if everything would be okay now, but she wanted to be strong enough for the both of them, and she wanted more than anything for him to believe her when she said it.
“Is it good?” Eleanor asked with an exasperated laugh. “My difficult, beautiful boy,” she sighed, looking over at him and frowning a little. If she loved him any more she knew she’d actually combust with how emotional he made her sometimes. She chuckled half-heartedly at Isla’s joke. “If I actually swung I’d have probably broken my hand on his chest,” she said with a playful eye roll. “Oh, darling, if only you’d known him as a teenager,” she snorted, then smiled as she reminisced about her young Scott. How cocky he’d been, how brazen in his young age. He was still young now, but so much has happened to him, so much has weathered his spirit and she knew that he’d lived a hundred more lives than he was supposed to by now. “He can argue with me like an adult. I wouldn’t be with him if he didn’t,” she said with a little chuckle. “People in that town had a lot of things to say about Erica, some of it wasn’t kind. Not that I ever regarded any of it. I only ever wanted to know what it was like for him, but he wouldn’t tell me. Would hardly speak about her other than the occasional comment here and there,“ she said with a small shake of her head. She hated to remember how much it hurt her then, that he wouldn’t open up to her about Erica. It made it hurt worse now. "He is totally mad,” she agreed. “I appreciate you thinking this is graceful at all,” Eleanor laughed, gesturing to herself; her mussed hair and wrinkly plane clothes, the dark blue circles beneath her eyes. “I know he’ll come around, he usually does for me, I just don’t know why it has to be so difficult at the start every single time,” she lamented. But she would do this a million more times with Scott if it meant they’d still have each other. She wrapped Isla into another hug and sighed against her shoulder. “You’re very good at this, you know. Calming me down,” she said, then gave Isla a soft smile. She nodded at Isla’s sentiment. “Even if it feels a little painful right now, I do feel lucky to get to love him so much. I just hope he feels it because I think he wants to kill me a little bit right now,” Eleanor said with an exasperated laugh.
Sam furrowed his brows and tried not to laugh and tease Scott about his ridiculous plan to exclude Eleanor at all from his trip to Scotland. It didn’t really make much sense to him, considering how close he and Eleanor were, but Sam couldn’t rib him for it now when he knew how uncomfortable Scott was right now. “Aye, you’re clearly the smart brother ‘ere,” he joked anyway, because he couldn’t help himself. “It’ll all work itself out though. As intense as Eleanor is I’ve never seen her fold faster than for you,” Sam said, shooting his brother a smirk. “Ah, so it’s not so bad that I’ve come after all then, aye?” he said when Scott expressed his excitement for Sam to meet Ewan and Sophie. He felt like he knew them already, with how much Scott talked about them. “I think meself and the geezer will get along just fine,” he snickered. “Don’t lie now, old brother o’ mine. Your life would be so dull without me,” he laughed, dramatically batting his eyelashes. “Eh, like I said. As much as she wants to curl you up a bigger part of her is complete and utter fucking mush for you, mate. God knows why, but who am I to judge,” he chuckled. Though Sam didn’t think he’d ever seen a more sincere form of love in his life before he met Scott and Eleanor. It was something to behold for him, that was for sure, when every relationship he’d been in or witnessed always ended in shambles. “Aye
” he said, cocking an eyebrow at Scott’s expression when he spoke of Isla. “Looks like she’s already soothed your girl enough to be able to talk to you again,” he shrugged, glancing back at the girls. “Or it could be those martinis she’s drinkin’,” Sam sighed, and gave his head a little shake. “It’s not a bad thing to have someone care so much about ya, lad,” he said with a knowing look. Once Sam allowed his friends and family in closer his life got a hell of a lot easier.
After finishing her cocktail, Eleanor looked down at her phone to see they were due to board in a twenty minutes. She gave Isla’s hand a reassuring squeeze and they made their way over to the boys sitting at the bar. “We’re boarding in a bit, we should head to the gate,” she told them, and they shuffled in tired silence to the gate. Eleanor was sure even her bones felt tired now, and she prayed she’d be able to sleep during the flight. Once they were settled into their seats in first class, Eleanor felt like she was going to cry again–from this disconnection she felt with Scott, from anxiety, from exhaustion–she couldn’t tell. It wasn’t a normal quiet between herself and Scott as they sat in their seats, but one that had her feeling desperate to reach him. It wasn’t an unfamiliar feeling, but it never got easier to handle. She turned to him a little and reached for his hand. Eleanor couldn’t believe she was about to concede to him, but she couldn’t bear putting him through anymore pain when he was clearly already spiraling over his mother. “I just want to say this.  If you really, really, don’t want me to meet Erica I won’t go to the hospital with you,” she said quietly, and sighed, her shoulders slumping. “But I very desperately want to meet her. Obviously,” she added with the ghost of a chuckle. “I just
want you to want me to meet her.” She took a deep breath. “Don’t say anything now, just
remember that. When we get there,” she added, because she didn’t have it in her to start up another argument. “And I want you to try and get some rest before we land if you can.” She leaned in and pressed her lips softly to his cheek before reclining her seat a bit to try and get more comfortable.

Invincible Episode 8 Review
Finale Spoilers!!!!!!
The good...?
I respect that Mark just straight up punched him
Eugenics? I'm not surprised. I knew the Viltrimites were fucking nuts and colonizers! I fucking called it!
Lucky you sick fuck?
Shit, are the other Viltrimites coming???
Nolan, you raised a human, not a killer.
You shouldn't have raised Mark among humans, jackass!
Please choke-
*gasps* a PET??!!! Straight up, FUCK YOU NOLAN!
"I will not calm down!"
It's only been 5 mins, shit-
Yeah, how is Mark supposed to beat Nolan? He's gonna die
Thank you Rudy for the title card intro. That thing is bloody
What a dense motherfucker. You didn't raise a sociopath, Nolan! It's too late to change that.
One, I saw that coming. Two, why the fuck is Cyborg voicing every black character??? Hire other people, PLEASE!
JESUS! Poor Mark....
I can tell he's going to go through a lot of physical pain in this series...
This is horrific...
*retches* Heroic BSOD or Rage fight?
Of course, Nolan is abusive. It's his fault my ass
HOLY SHIT THAT IS TRUAMATIZING! MARK, I- I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT TO SAY!!!!!!
They really emphasized Mark's butt as Nolan beats him. Why?
I'm actually tearing up. This is horrible
Ya'll need to help him. Fuck off, Rudy. Go and help!
There he is.
Nolan's going to use Mark to destroy the whole planet...
I love the reality. Mark is beat
That "or die" line was the first time I saw J.K. Simmons shine through Nolan
Mark's just being beat for 20 mins straight.
He's always been like this. He's always been this shitty. How did Debbie not notice?
Nolan's a sociopath, hun.
Is he going to have a Dracula moment? I'm killing our boy
Those red eyes are consistent but really funny. It kinda ruins the tension.
You piece of shit
He just...left? Is he gonna come back?
I was right, Mark got bodied.
Love the effect of the copter blades with the medic scene.
I wanna drink too, man. Too bad I'm 20
How did Nolan become a threat? He lied.
I am truly, truly heartbroken for Mark and Debbie.
Ma'am you have no clue where Nolan went and there's a whole planet of even more sociopathic hims out there.
Cecil is actually a nice guy? She says very hesitantly
I love that Black Samson just walked over MG
Rex is right.
Awww. And she climbed up.
Nice song choice *tears up*
Two weeks? Nice heal rate.
Don't pull out I.V.s Mark
Gotta love a blank white room.
Cecil drinks his respect women juice
How the fuck? That's really fucking ingenious. Poison the water.
Yeah...I don't think the Viltrimites are just gonna leave Urath alone. They're coming and there's only one Mark.
Maybe that's why Nolan felt bad about Mark's powers. He felt worried for his son.
Still a piece of shit tho
Trauma, baby!
Poor Debbie...
Amber my love, just perfect!
Yay William and Eve! Friendship squad? Please say yes
Also, William cannot keep a secret, like at all.
They gonna fuck?
That's why Art sounds like the Joker...
William, shut up
Their faces when Mark whooshes away
The shade! Poor Eve
So he wears his suit under his clothes? Is he not hot?
It is Allen!
Little too late, Allen...
Yeah, that's what I was thinking, Allen.
Fuck yes! Takedown the space Nazis!
Yeah, is there a multiverse because Mark needs way more of him.
The Martians!
Doc Seismic is alive? Awww
Uh oh, those dudes didn't all die...
You cannot trust the U.S. government.
This setup was great!
Rating: Obviously a 10! Invincible's been renewed for 2 more seasons and I can't wait! This is one of the best shows I've ever seen and I've seen pretty much every American cartoon that has existed since 1990. Fantastic, but I'll let my review above speak to my thoughts.
It's been nice talking and interacting with you guys. See you next season!
Edit: It cracks me up that this review is so popular since it’s just a stream of consciousness. I am appreciative, and I promise to write better ones when season 2 arrives.

Rooster
His breath caught in his throat at the sight of Juliette in the red lace dress with the sweetheart neckline and spaghetti straps. Her blonde hair in perfect waves, the dainty silver chain with the diamond pendant resting on her sun-kissed skin, the sparkling earrings to match, the red-bottom black lace shoes- it was a look that could kill, and although Bradley hadn't been its first victim judging by the passionate kiss Hangman had Juliette in moments ago, Bradley certainly had the most agonizing death. Juliette could wear anything, but red had always been her color. It had always driven Bradley crazy; apparently, things hadn't changed. It still drove him nuts. She still drove him nuts. He still wanted her, but Juliette understandably wanted to avoid anything other than friendship with him after the truths that came out last night. Bradley, who had silently hated himself all these years for not returning to Jules after he'd walked out on her, for not having the courage to overcome his wounded pride and ego, for letting his fears control him, now despised himself further, something he didn't think was possible. Seeing Juliette silently sobbing after their fight, though, shattered his heart, but Bradley didn't dare tell her that. He did this to himself. Not her.
"Bradshaw!" A girl called out, the voice familiar but unrecognizable. "How dare you not come say hi to me first thing?"
Rooster turned towards the direction of his alleged acquaintance, a grin spreading across his face at the sight of Firefly, all dressed up with a crown and sash that said 'Bride to Be.' After today's near-brawl with Hangman and his fractured relationship with Jules, Rooster was glad to see a friendly face. He swaggered up to his old friend and lifted her in the air with a hug. "Good to see you, short stuff!"
"You're lucky I'm drunk and in a good mood!" She retorted with a laugh as he set her down. "Bend down for a sec- you're too tall, and I need to tell you something."
Rooster bent down. "Hmm?"
"This-" Firefly whacked him violently upside the head- "is for not telling me you were stateside. And this-" she slapped him upside the head again- "is for not saying hi to me the moment you knew I was here, which I know you did because Jules said she ran into you. Literally, I think. She said you're here for a special training detachment?"
"Yeah," Rooster replied, rubbing the back of his head ruefully. "I see you still pack a punch."
"I have to hold my own against all you giant hotshots some way. Why are you hiding over here when you should be hanging out with me and my girlfriends along with all the other men? You seriously going to let Hangman hit on Juliette?"
"After last night, I have a feeling she would rather I not join. Not to mention, she seemed perfectly content with the liplock Hangman had her in earlier."
Firefly waved a dismissive hand. "Trust me, I know about that. I wouldn't worry about it. And sweetheart, this is my bachelorette party, so if I say you can join, you can join. The girls and I are going to get people up and dancing, and son, I know you got moves, so you're joining."
Tumblr media
"I don't get a choice in this, do I?"
"Nope!" Firefly turned on her heel and beelined for her group. Rooster nodded in defeated acceptance and followed her. Juliette, Phoenix, and a girl he didn't know were laughing hysterically over something, and none of them sobered up when Rooster approached, not even Juliette, which told him she was definitely inebriated. Without giving anyone warning, Firefly grabbed onto Juliette and Rooster's hands, dragging them over to the jukebox. Phoenix and Maria trailed closely behind them. Firefly came to a stop and flipped through the songs, asking, "What song should we dance to first?"
"Ooh! Footloose!" Maria pleaded, already punching in the numbers. "I've been rewatching the movie, and I'm dying to dance to it!"
"Footloose it is!" Firefly pressed play, and, once more, Rooster found himself being dragged by his friend to a makeshift dance floor. He noticed his fellow aviators joining from the corner of his eye. Much to his chagrin, Hangman finagled his way next to Juliette, who beamed excitedly up at him.
You had your chance, and you blew it. Leave her alone. Rooster chastised himself silently, attempting but failing to push down his rising jealousy. God, why did she have to look so good tonight? Did she know he was going to be here tonight? Did she purposefully wear the outfit to drive him crazy? He doubted it. Juliette didn't play those games. Besides, hadn't Firefly said not to worry about the kiss between Jules and Hangman? What was that about? Because those two seemed cozier than ever. It's not like he could ask Juliette about it. After last night, talking to Rooster would be at the bottom of her to-do list.
The song started up, and Firefly gave Rooster no further opportunity to dive deeper down into his pit of regret and jealousy, although Juliette never strayed far from his mind, especially when, at some point, she ended up next to him. She danced her heart out to each and every song, singing along at the top of her lungs, her angelic voice harmonizing with the artists. Rooster could barely take his eyes off of her. Only when Hangman grabbed Juliette's hand and spun her into him did Bradley avert his gaze.
Deciding he was hot and tired of dancing, Rooster slipped away from the group and went up to the bar, ordering a beer. He'd hardly been there two seconds when Hangman, the last possible person he wanted to be around, joined him at the counter. The egotistical pilot ordered a beer as well, then turned to Rooster and said, "Bradshaw, I need to apologize."
It took all of Bradley's willpower not to choke on his drink. "You're going to have to be more specific."
"For earlier today, when I insinuated that Mav had something to do with your dad's death. It was uncalled for and a dick move even for me, so I'm sorry." Although he struggled to get the words out, Hangman sounded genuine in his apology. What prompted it, Rooster had no idea.
"Thanks
" Bradley replied hesitantly, still not entirely over what Hangman insinuated about Maverick playing a part in Goose's death. No matter how Rooster felt about his surrogate dad now, it would never change the fact that Maverick mourned Goose the same as Carole Bradshaw; when Goose died, Maverick lost his best friend, his brother, his other half. On more than one occasion, Rooster heard Maverick talking, sometimes shouting, in his sleep, "Eject! Goose, eject!" When Mav would tell him bedtime stories, it was always stories of his dad and what the two of them got up to during school and in the Navy. These, along with so many others, were why Bradley could never blame Maverick for his father's death, even if Mav had been flying the plane. He'd never lost the guilt over losing his RIO, and Rooster would defend his surrogate dad from anyone who declared otherwise.
An awkward silence fell between the two pilots while Hangman waited for his beer. Rooster kept his eyes ahead, unintentionally where Juliette sang along to some pop song about an ex with the other girls. Hangman, apparently not done talking, asked, "Bradshaw, can I give you some advice?"
Tumblr media
"Absolutely not," Rooster responded shortly, knowing fully well that his comrade would speak anyway.
"Don't let her go a second time."
Bradley frowned, finally tearing his gaze from Juliette to lock onto Hangman. "Excuse me?"
"Don't let her go a second time," he repeated, nodding at Jules. "Don't act around her like you do in the sky. When you see your shot, take it."
Hangman sent him a short nod, then returned to their fellow aviators, leaving Rooster more than a little dumbfounded. What depth of Hell had frozen over to possess Hangman to apologize? What Stranger Things upside-down kind of world had Rooster entered? The questions evaporated from his mind when he saw Hangman next to Juliette, smiling down at her with an expression Rooster understood all too well. Now he understood Jake's words, which hadn't been mere advice. They'd been a warning, too. If Rooster didn't make his move on Juliette, Hangman would, and Bradley had no doubt Juliette would agree to a date with Hangman. The mere idea of those two together made Bradley nauseous. He couldn't let that happen. If Bradley and Juliette were still in love with each other, then surely they could find a way to work it out.
He had to try.

Class Drama and Anger Issues
Hey besties this will contain swearing, violence, catcalling/ sexual harassment, blood and just horrible behaviour so please take care reading this, love you all <3
You had always been very protective of your friends
It wasn’t like you didn’t think they could stand up for themselves
You understood that 100%
However whenever anyone insulted them or talked bad about them you were the first person to throw hands
You were sure that your jaw had locked from how long you had been tensing it. You see, being sat at the back of the classroom was great, you could see everyone and hear everyone. Which means that whenever someone decided to bitch and moan about the people in the little group you had managed to join, that you would be the first person to hear it. Like right now for example, Liz and Peter had broken up a few days ago and she didn’t take it so well and had taken up talking about him behind his back. Which had led us to this: you at the back of the room, fists and jaw clenched in an effort to not walk over to her and her little friends and wipe that smug look right off her face. “And he isn’t even that smart, God knows how he got into Stark industries” nope that was it, that was the last straw. You pushed the stupid science lab chair back so hard it fell to the ground, heads turned to you as you stormed over to where Liz and her group where currently at which just happened to be at the front of the classroom. God, were you lucky that the teacher had left to go grab some more textbooks from some cupboard down the hall, otherwise you would have been dead when you said “Listen Liz. Peter is an amazing and smart boy who cares more for others than he does himself. He works harder than anyone else I know and he still manages to make sure others are okay. He is twice the person you will ever be and if you don't shut up in the next 2 minutes you won’t have to worry about being bitter over a breakup, you’ll be too worried about getting a set of new teeth”. If this was a cartoon steam would be pouring from your ears and your face would be blood red, which wasn’t too far from what you looked like now. Peter had taken a sick day and thank god he had, otherwise he would have killed you for even saying anything, however Ned was still here and he was waiting to see how far you would go before having to step in and calm you down. “Oh how sweet L/n, you think you’re all strong and scary” her and her friends' sickly sweet laughs echoed in your ears as you clenched your fists even harder. “Y/n come on Peter wouldn’t want this” ned tried to reason and even in your rage filled stupor you realised he was right and took a breath to try and calm yourself down “say anything again and you’ll see just how strong and scary I can be” you spat, stroming away, grabbing your bag and walking out of the room just in time for your teacher to walk back in, “where’s L/n?” he asked.
Okay maybe you did tend to overreact
You just really cared about your friends
They were there when you needed them and you wanted to do the same
You couldn’t help it that you got angry when people decided to talk about them
In some situations though it was acceptable to get angry
You, Mj and Betty had been coming back from the Cinema late one night after deciding that you deserved to spend some time together after exam week to treat yourselves. Unfortunately walking through the streets at 10pm meant getting some very unwanted attention from older men. “Hey mama looking good” one man slurred as you walked past him grabbing the girls hands a little tighter in an attempt to ground yourself and reassure them that you would keep them save, “hey don’t be like that, we just want to talk” another man added, honestly what was it with them? Couldn’t they see you obviously didn’t want to “talk” to them. You hadn’t even realised your feet had stopped moving until Betty gently placed her hand on your shoulder and whispered “It’s fine just let it go” and tried to give you a nudge in the direction you had originally been going. “Hey! Don’t just ignore us! We know you want some attention” you didn’t know who had said it and at this point you didn’t care, worrying more about teaching them a thing called respect than about who voiced their unwanted thoughts. Letting go of your friends hands, turning around slowly and walking towards the men with a smile on your face so sweet it was almost scary. “Didn’t anyone ever tell you that women aren’t your submissive little toys?” you sung punctuating your sentence with a kick to one guy's nuts and a punch to the other's nose. “Because someone really should” and as the men were recovering from your atack you stalked away along the dimly lit street and continuing your journey to Mj’s house.
Okay so we have clearly established your hatred towards people who disrespect your friends
The Avengers new about your strong feelings and respected the fire that you had
Of course they did have Bruce try and teach you some breathing exercises
Spoiler alert they didn’t help very much
So when Bucky got a call from your school telling him that he would have to pick you up as you were suspended for a week
He couldn’t say he was surprised
“I’m going to pick Y/n up from school, be back in a bit” Bucky called to the rest of the team who had been watching some sort of reality show on the new Tv Tony had no reason to buy but did, “why? What happened?” Steve replied, a look of concern on his face “They got into a fight and so they are suspended for a week” the supersoldier sighed, grabbing the car keys and whispering “what did you do this time Y/n” to himself.
I’ll tell you what happened
You had been on your way to English when you had seen Flash taunting Mj, waving her book above his head and laughing hysterically about something. Instantly you dropped your bag to the floor and stormed over to them “Hey Flash, what are you doing there buddy?” you shouted loud enough to seem intimidating but not loud enough to capture the attention of the teachers and students who were already in class. “None of your business Y/n, move along” he spat back, if looks could kill he would be six feet under and halfway to hell as you ripped the book from his grasp and slammed him into the lockers “really? Because to me it looks like you’re being rude to my good friend Mj and I don’t take that very lightly”. Gripping him by the collar and pushing him even further into the lockers that he was sure his body had made a dent in the metal, however flash was never one to give up like the shaking leaf of a man he was. Pushing you hands off and shoving you by your shoulders he said “aww look Mj your angry little guard dog has come to your rescue again. How sweet” if there was one thing you hated more than stupid boys and disrespect it was being called a dog. You weren’t gonna let him call you that. Quicker than he could say “Don’t hit me” your fist came flying straight into the boy's noise, a satisfying crunch being made upon impact. Now throughout all of this no one had heard the commotion and they wouldn’t have if Flash didn’t scream out in pain and then faint at the sight of his own blood.
That’s how you ended up getting suspended
It was what you had told your dad when he picked you up because you had no reason to lie
No matter how proud of you he was he still gave you a talking to
You both had a long talk about how best to go about controlling your anger and instead of going back to Bruce you decided to take a few anger management classes
And so far it’s going great
(Until flash decides to open his mouth again)

Doctor Y/n - Residency - 6 - Grey's Anatomy x Fem!Reader
"Wilson, you're off peds, go to the ER. Robbins, you'll be taking over this case with S/n, whilst Karev is suspended from surgery for three days." Chief Hunt instructed, leaving Jo to pass you the patient's chart before heading down to the ER.
"S/n, can you occupy yourself whilst I go to a meeting?" Doctor Robbins turned and asked, leaving you to nod, passing her the chart and going to get a snack.
///
"Steph, you okay?" You asked as you sat down next to her, leaning against the wooden pallets as Jo appeared with two coffee cups.
"Heard you got busted." Steph stated, directly to Jo who just groaned.
"I'm missing out on my education to keep me on a separate floor from Alex." Jo explained leaving you to sigh and sip from your water bottle.
"See, I want that rule. If I find myself alone in the same room as Jackson, I'm afraid I'm gonna nut-punch him. So every time he has a consult in the ER today, I'm taking a break." Steph explained, leaving Jo to admit she'd want to see Steph nut-punch Doctor Avery.
Steph was still talking whilst you fixated on the box near Steph's feet.
"Steph, don't move."
"What?" Steph retorted but you had already gotten up and opened the box.
"Page Robbins. Hey little one, let's get you inside." You hummed, carefully picking up the box as Jo and Steph realised what was happening.
"Oh my god!"
"It was right outside." "By the dumpsters." "He's warm but his pulse is weak and fast." Jo, Steph and you explained one by one as Doctor Robbins picked out the baby from the box.
"Hey little one, how are you? What are you like, eight, nine months? Oh, what do we have here? You've had some surgeries before, okay, S/n, let's get him up to the PICU." Doctor Robbins instructed, leaving Steph to go get a peds gurney.
"Page cardio and call the police." Doctor Robbins instructed Jo before turning to you, "get prints, any identifiable marks, find out if he was born here, seen here, we're going to find out who this little guy is-" Doctor Robbins was cut off as she cartwheeled over a gurney.
You and Jo exchanged terrified looks as you heard Steph apologising.
"I think you broke my leg." Doctor Robbins admitted, leaving Steph to gasp.
"Oh my god, oh my god!"
///
"But it's my dumpster baby." Jo exclaimed, frowning at Hunt.
"You're not on peds, S/n is and Edwards is going with her." Hunt reinforced, leaving Jo to sigh before heading back into the ER.
"Oh I have a surgery today, I lost Karev so do you want to join me and S/n?" Doctor Robbins enquired to Bailey, who grinned and agreed.
///
"Have you cuddled him?"
"No I have not." Doctor Yang admitted, leaving Arizona to smile.
"If I was left in a cardboard box, all I'd want is cuddling." She replied, pausing as she noticed you standing in the doorway.
"S/n, want to take the baby?" Doctor Robbins asked, smiling as you hesitantly walked forwards before taking the baby in your arms.
"Hi..." You mumbled, ignoring how much Doctor Robbins was smiling as Shane walked in.
"S/n and I have another patient, Ross, you want to take the baby?"
"Take the baby, Ross." Doctor Yang interjected as Shane began to refuse, leaving you to chuckle slightly before passing the baby into Shane's reluctant arms.
"Are you squeaking?"
"Long story." Doctor Robbins brushed off Doctor Yang's question as the two of you exited the patient room to attend to another peds case.
///
"Did you hear Grumpy, Hairball and Skully found a baby in the trash?" Doctor Yang began before Doctor Grey began to talk about the Emma that Owen was dating until he slept with Cristina again.
///
"Any idea where S/n is, she'll need to head down to the OR now and be aware that we're using the appendix instead of the intestine-" Doctor Robbins began before spotting you sat with the baby who was left in the box.
"Last thing we need is her imprinting..." Bailey remarked, about to walk in when the two heard what you were saying.
"You're lucky you're not going to remember being abandoned, not like me, I remember because I was ten... but that means they'll have to tell you when you're older... you're going to go to a loving home where they look after you and love you... you're not your trauma, little one." You whispered, smiling as the baby gripped your finger with his tiny fist.
Your face fell and you stood up as you spotted Doctors Robbins and Bailey watching.
"I-"
"You were ten?" Doctor Robbins asked, leaving you to sigh, running your hand over your face before deciding to tell the short version.
"When I was ten, my parents left me on the side of the road in mid-winter, promising they'd come back for me. The only thing that came for me was early hypothermia and the police. I was put in the foster system after that, aged out at 18 and met Joey. Please keep that to yourselves, I don't want to deal with more rumours about me circulating the hospital." You explained, folding your arms as you watched their faces.
"Do you want me to prep the patient?" You asked, nodding as Doctor Robbins nodded.
"You can go with Bailey, Doctor Grey might be there too. I have to give a statement to HR." Doctor Robbins instructed, leaving you to nod and walk with Doctor Bailey to the patient room.
///
"Doctor Robbins says to start without her but she'll be here as soon as she can."
Doctor Bailey nodded as she scrubbed in, pausing as you walked in to scrub in too.
///
"That should be you down there." Steph pointed out, leaving Jo to sigh.
"Who cares? I'm doing an organ recovery, screw peds, I'll basically be on general, cardiothoraric, ortho, plastic and pulmonary in one surgery. Plus, Braces loves ortho more than peds." Jo stated before her pager began to go off.
"Oh, crap." Doctor Grey mumbled, looking up at the gallery, with you following her eyeline.
"What? What?" Doctor Bailey asked, spotting Doctor Karev watching with a sour look on his face.
///
The surgery went well, with the patient in recovery as you went to check on the baby found with the trash, who was now named Oscar.
"You okay?" Jo murmured, her chin resting on your shoulder as you stood outside the patient room, staring at the door.
"They just abandoned him, threw him away when they couldn't be bothered anymore..." You stressed, running your hands down your face as Jo turned you so you'd look at her.
"Our parents did that with us, and look where we are now. Oscar gets to live a better life, especially since Yang has been fixing his heart." Jo replied, gently pulling your hands away from your face so she could mantain eye contact with you.
"Why did that call him Oscar anyway? Everyone understood but I don't understand the reference." You admitted, leaving Jo to frown.
"Brooks didn't put Sesame Street on the list?"
"Oh, I haven't got around to watching it yet, I was watching the movies Brooks suggested first, last night was The Aristocats." You explained, sniffling slightly as Jo had managed to change the conversation so you wouldn't be crying in the middle of the hospital.
"Of course, it was, Kitten." Jo smirked, leaving you to grimace.
"I prefer Braces to Kitten, Joey. Also, let's not have HR accusing us of dating, because some people still think Karev is your beard and we're together." You stated, leaving Jo to pause.
"I should have experimented more in college." Jo admitted, leaving you to raise an eyebrow before Jo burst into laughter.
"Anyway, here, I put some more songs on it, ones from when we were taking breaks in our study sessions when I was 17." Jo smiled, passing you your MP3 player that had the earphones wrapped around it.
"Ominous, but thanks." You replied with a raised eyebrow and a hesitant smile.
"Oh, don't look at me like that! My music taste is amazing!" Jo retorted, making you laugh a genuine laugh.
"There's that smile." Jo grinned, poking you in the cheek as you stuck your tongue out at her.

Doctor Webber's birthday required a lot of planning and a lot more sneakiness.
However, when Catherine Avery walked Doctor Webber into the surprise party, everyone knew it had paid off when they saw the smile on his face.
"We overthrew the government today! Thristy..." Doctor Torres exclaimed, leaving you to laugh into your drink as you walked past them on the way to find your fellow residents.
You were about to walk over to Jo with a smile on your face but Karev beat you to it.
Leah frowned as she watched your face fall.
"Hey, Y/n, come with me to get a drink?" Leah asked, linking arms with you as she had Steph on her other arm.
"Sure, anything to obscure the vision of Jo snogging Karev." You mumbled as all of you went to get a table.
"I'd like to make a toast to Doctor Webber!" Leah announced, leaving you all to stand up and smile as Shane spoke.
"Thank you, cheers!" Doctor Webber smiled, lifting his glass of club soda in thanks.
"Cheers!"
