Headcanons: The Arcana Characters Love Languages

A/N: probably gonna do this for all the fandoms i write for so expect a lot of the same stuff in the coming times. anywaysss enjoy! :)

Asra:

Asra's love language is Gift Giving/ Receiving.

Anytime they're away from the shop, they always manage to find something that reminds them of you,

Whether it's a trinket of some sort or a food you may like, they're buying it as soon as they see it.

No matter what it is, there is always some thoughtfulness behind the gift that warms your heart.

And if you get them something in return? Asra's admiration of you grows tenfold.

if that gift is small enough, you can bet that they're bring it along with them on all of their travels. They love having something to remember you by when not physically with you.

Nadia:

Nadia's love language would be Acts of Service.

After running a country essentially by herself, she finds herself most comfortable when doing things for the people she cares about.

If you were to need anything, she would help you get it in anyway she could.

She has her servants run errands for you, she'll help you clean the magic shop, or she'll even cook your favorite meal for you.

Even if you insist that she doesn't have to go to those lengths, she'll sweetly reassure you that she enjoys doing those thing for you.

And she's eternally grateful when in exchange, you offer to take care of some of her own duties when she needs to take a day or two off.

Julian:

Julian's love language is definitely Words of Affirmation.

This man is so genuine and charming, even his casual comments can have you swooning into his arms.

If he notices you're feeling down or you've done something you're proud of, Julian is always sure to compliment you to raise your spirits.

Even if you're just lounging around on a comfy chair, he's quick to tell you how much he loves you.

You just mean so much to him, it's hard for him to keep his thoughts to himself when he's near you.

And when he's silently dealing with his past doubts about himself, he really appreciates when you come around and remind him how far he's come since then.

Muriel:

Muriel's love language is Quality Time!

He's never been the most talkative person or the most touchy-feely, but he enjoys spending a quiet moment with you.

After a long, stressful day, his favorite thing to do is sit in front of the fireplace with you and Inanna to decompress for a bit.

If he has things to do around the forest, Muriel loves when you're right there beside him, even if he doesn't need help with his tasks.

He does have his moments where he will distance himself from you for a bit, but he always comes back to you, happy that you like being around him even on the bad days.

Even if he doesn't always say it, you know Muriel adores you just by how much time he spends around you.

Portia:

Portia's love language is also Gift Giving!

She loves to bake and craft, so anytime she can manage it, she's making you something filled with all the love she can put into it.

She is so in tune with all of your interests that she is always able to give you something that she knows that you will enjoy!

On the rare occasion that she buys you something, she'll always find a way to add a personal touch.

When you make or purchase a present for her, you're also sure to get a treat for Pepi.

It makes Portia cry tears of joy every single time, she loves the fact that you thought of her best feline friend in addition to herself.

Lucio:

And finally, Lucio's love language is Physical Touch!

He is one touch starved son of a bitch, I'll tell you that much. With his mother being the way she was, he craves the loving embrace of another person.

Any chance he can get, he's scooping you into his arms and dropping the both of you onto his bed for a long awaited snuggle session.

Even if you're busy with something else, he will find any way to stick to you, be it with a single kiss on the cheek or full on pulling you into his awaiting lap.

On days where he's not feeling like his usual self, he seeks you out and when he finds you, he's pulling you to a comfortable surface to plop his head onto your thighs.

If you run your fingers through his hair, you'll find him humming contently after a while, relishing in the warm gentleness of your touch.

A/N: Can you believe that I wrote like 150 Arcana headcanon sets before someone asked for a petite mc? I feel like this is a classic that I missed out on in my early days. Please let me know if there are any spelling or grammar mistakes :) requests are open!

He was already constantly filled with anxiety and an ever looming sense of dread, but meeting you has somehow increased it

Logically he knows that your size doesn’t diminish your many talents and capabilities, but he worries all the same

He likes to keep you in his line of sight, and in crowded spaces he’ll hold your hand or place one of his hands on your back or shoulder so you don’t disappear into the fray

Often he can be seen looking behind you, a bit hunched over so he can hear what you’re saying

He likes to think he looks like a scary guard dog, but depending on the circumstances there’s a good chance he looks even more scared than you

🧡Portia🧡

You can be short legends together

She hopes you’re okay with short jokes, because now that she has a partner who’s just as short as her, she’ll be making them all the time

Says you can tag team taking out people’s ankles if they piss you off

She really likes that she doesn’t have to worry about getting on her tiptoes to kiss you since you’re about the same height

Once joked about having you sit on her shoulders with a cloak to pretend to be Muriel while committing crimes

Loves being the taller one in the relationship, it makes him feel strong and important

He’s always been a fan of heels (the higher the better), but he does appreciate that he can give his feet a break when he’s out with you

Does try to talk you into wearing heels for special events though; he says it’s more fun to look down at people

Makes short jokes when he’s feeling petty, but they’re not very well thought out, and mostly come down to “well, you’re short, and that’s bad because I say so”

Still feels really bad about this later, and insists that you should feel insulted even if you were totally unaffected

He may actually cry from the stress

He’s always been uncomfortable aware of his own size, and that sensation is heightened whenever you’re around

If he bumps into you, you will be going down, and he is terrified of that

He tries to make himself smaller by hunching over whenever he’s standing or sitting next to you to draw less attention to the size difference (obviously it doesn’t work, and most people just pity him since he looks so awkward)

Hates that people are perceiving him as a sort of guard dog for you; he feels like the juxtaposition is leading to stereotyping, and you’ll need to reassure him that you don’t see him that way

💙Asra💙

You know, he’s never really noticed it all that much

Of course, on a physical level he knows you’re pretty small, but as someone who has always been right in the middle of short and tall, he doesn’t really see it as a very big deal

He does like that you’re just short enough to fit under his chin when he hugs you, but that’s about it

You don’t have to reach too far to give him a kiss, which is also a plus

And he’s already got plenty of step-stools around for reaching the top shelves, so there’s no need to ask (not that anything but decorations ever goes on those shelves anyway; if neither of you can reach them on your own, why bother giving them a practical use?)

Adjusting to your height takes a bit of getting used to for her

She’s the type to wear heels and keep perfect posture, so she stands tall even among people of a similar height

She accidentally looks over your head until you call her attention down to you pretty often

Expect to be gifted plenty of heels or platform shoes early on in the relationship

She’s not particularly fond of the idea of abandoning her own heels, but if you struggle with yours then she’ll switch to something a bit more practical so she can kiss you more easily

She complained about neck pain exactly one (1) time, and silently prays that you never bring it up again to tease her

Muriel dreams of the haunting scraping of metal blades against the Coliseum ground. He dreams of unseeing eyes staring straight through him; of boos and jeers reverberating through his mind loudly enough to send pain shooting across his temple. 

Nadia dreams of her city falling to ruin. She dreams of abandoned city streets, silent and decrepit; of civilians with reddened eyes begging her for help; of the world outside the castle disintegrating until she is the only person left to make sense of the wreckage. 

Portia dreams of her brother: accused of a crime he didn’t commit and sent to the gallows. She dreams of locking eyes with him, seeing one final word fall from his lips before the guillotine falls with a deafening crash.   

Asra dreams of losing you—of watching the light fade from your eyes as he holds you in his arms, powerless for the first time in his life. 

And Julian? Julian dreams of his own execution; of that disillusioning dinner shared all those years ago; of crimson eyes burning into his skin; of a curse delivered to him disguised as a gift. Fortunately, Julian’s nightmares become less frequent after the revelation that he’s innocent—and the subsequent innocent verdict. And when Lucio is vanquished and the plague is eradicated, the others begin to forget their sleepless nights. 

Your nightmares, however, only increase in frequency. After all, you only recently learned that you died from the plague. You hadn’t wanted to believe it at first, but it just makes too much sense. The grief in Asra’s eyes… his elusiveness… your headaches and memory loss… that inexplicable déjà vu when you first saw Julian in your shop… It makes a disturbing amount of sense. As time passes and you begin to accept it as the truth, your memories begin to return. They slowly emerge from a hazy fog, assailing you in the strangest of moments. Idly—perhaps foolishly—you hope that the return of your memories will give you peace. Instead, they only incite further torment. 

You try to hide your nightmares from Julian. You wake up breathing heavily and quietly slip out of bed before he notices. But one night, you lurch forwards—tossing and turning loudly enough that you unknowingly rouse him. You suppose it was inevitable. If Julian is bothered by the disruption, he doesn’t show it. 

“Hey,” Julian murmurs, his brows furrowed as he pushes himself up to a sitting position. You rub your eyes roughly, struggling to ground yourself in reality. When you take a slow breath, you can still feel the stiff, heavy air of The Lazaret. “What’s the matter?” He frowns, looking concerned. 

You just shake your head silently.

“Hey, you helped me through all of my problems,” Julian reminds you. “The least I can do is help you.”

“You already have,” you say quietly. And it’s true—Julian has already done so much for you. He has placed his trust in you time and time again, even when you didn’t have the confidence to trust yourself. 

Julian looks momentarily surprised by your remark; a blush then rises on his cheeks, before he shakes his head. “You’re having nightmares.” He states, waiting for you to elaborate. After a few seconds pass and you remain silent, he sighs. “Come on. Being stubborn and self-sacrificing is my thing.”

“You are pretty good at it,” you acquiesce, letting out a choked huff of amusement.

“Aren’t I?” Julian smiles, puffing out his chest pridefully. It’s clear he’s trying to lighten the mood and you find a smile threatening to rise on your lips. 

The two of you sit in silence for a while, until you can utter the words. “I keep dreaming about The Lazaret,” you admit. Something flashes in Julian’s eyes. You know the building is an unpleasant reminder to Julian too—albeit for different reasons than yours. You take a slow breath and shakily smooth out the covers, desperate for something to focus on. But you can’t avoid Julian’s attentive gaze, even if it’s a patient one. “The memories are coming back to me.”

Julian’s eyes widen as he catches onto what you’re saying. He reaches out and grasps your forearm, looking distressed at the thought of you experiencing those horrors all over again. “I should’ve been there,” Julian says hoarsely. He looks across the room to the open window, where the starry sky stretches across the horizon. There’s pain written all over his face. He pulls his eyes back to you, as if imploring you to blame him. 

You just shake your head. That’s not why you’re distressed; moreover, you don’t want Julian to blame himself for things that were out of his control. “I just…” You murmur, finding it increasingly difficult to verbalize your feelings. “When I close my eyes, I’m crumpled on the floor there… decaying behind those walls. And I can feel the hunger gnawing at my stomach; the pain running through my arms and legs; the red tinting my vision; and… the loneliness.” 

“We live alone and we die alone,” you recite. The cool night air from the window sends goosebumps across your skin. “I know that. But…” The words die in your throat. 

Julian immediately pulls you into an embrace, his hand rising to support your head as he leans into you. His grip is stronger than normal, as if he’s reassuring himself that you’re still here. You hold him in return, fighting back tears. Your throat is burning. The memory of your death is so raw and real. You can recall it with frightening ease—can nearly feel the blurred haze of pain and discomfort. 

“You’re not alone,” Julian reassures you. You bite the inside of your cheek. He brings a hand up to cradle your jaw, his eyes gleaming. “Not anymore. Not when I’m here.” 

“That’s not something you can promise.” You murmur. Asra told you something like that too, once upon a time. But then he distanced himself, because the sight of you was enough to provoke intense grief within him. You know he didn’t mean to harm you… but it hurt regardless. 

“I can and I will.” Julian asserts, looking uncharacteristically sincere. He brings his hands to your shoulders and leans back, locking eyes with you. “That won’t happen. I won’t let it.” He pulls you into his arms again and you allow yourself the fleeting comfort. 

You’re not sure how long you stay there in Julian’s embrace. All you know is that, at some point, his voice breaks through the silence. “How long have you been having these nightmares?” 

And there it is: the very question you'd be hoping to avoid. You feel guilty that you’ve been hiding them from Julian, but at the same time, you didn’t want to bother him with your distress. You tell him as much, which only brings a frown to his face. 

“I know this is hypocritical coming from me, but… you don’t have to suffer alone,” Julian says, brushing his fingers across your knuckles. You clasp his hand and meet his eyes, surprised by the sheer depth of emotion gleaming in them. “Let me help you, the way you’ve helped me countless times already.” 

“Okay.” You agree reluctantly. You can almost see the relief in Julian’s expression, as his shoulders visibly relax and he takes a slow breath. 

“Good,” Julian says. His fingers trace your cheekbone and a look of unmistakable fondness crosses over his face. There’s a slight smile on his lips, unmarred by his typical bravado. A few seconds later, he seems to realize what he’s doing and he pointedly clears his throat, his cheeks flushed in embarrassment. “We should try to get some more rest. If at all possible.” 

But his hands remain cradling your face and he hasn’t made a move to separate from you. You blink at him, waiting for him to retreat back under the covers and close his eyes. 

Several seconds pass and nothing happens. “Sorry, I-” Julian blinks, a shy smile rising on his face. Then something like amusement takes over. “I seem to be stuck.” You roll your eyes fondly; eventually, Julian lets out a theatrical sigh and removes his hands. You both know Portia will have your heads if you’re late to breakfast again. With that recognition, the two of you burrow back under the covers. This time, you don’t bother to pretend to maintain some distance—instead drifting towards the middle of the bed and closer to each other. A sudden sense of tranquility washing over you, you fall asleep easily—knowing that whatever your nightmares produce will fade in the face of Julian’s steadfast presence.

Ramble ahead -- I want muriel to be full of rage because it fixes so much about his characterisation and story

(i think the devs were avoiding him having any real anger bc the fandom would have crucified them as they did for everything else which sucks, but would explain a lot of his woobification)

it would explain how on earth he was actually able to kill yknow?? call me whatever but his characterisation as it is i don't think he'd be able to kill anyone or anything, past or present -- even when his only loved one was at stake. but if he was angry. if he let the years of subjugation, loneliness, helplessness, and exposure to corruption and violence just take hold of him, give into it -- because hes always been assumed to be violent due to his size and strength, and he gives up trying to prove he's not. Its not necessarily a consious decision and no, he doesn't want to kill, and maybe he does refuse to kill at first. but when forced and trapped in this horrific situation and treated like a monster and an object he throws himself away and gives in to the anger, and takes it out on people who are no longer people but those who have hurt him, people who its ok to hurt and kill (not that i think he would think about it this deeply, i think there'd be a whole lot of detachment and disassociation involved)

Less relevant stuff under the cut

it would add depth to his apparent self loathing and lack of self-worth

which would explain more deeply why he isolated himself and sees the curse of being forgotten as a "gift", why he doesn't even want to think about himself as a real person or be seen by anyone

it would add complexity to his pacifism, which in canon is less of a choice and more an extreme aversion to hurting anything due to PTSD. imo pacifism is not a very interesting trait when no part of you actually wants to hurt. like a part of him wants to use his strength, to actually fight back to show people they cannot control or subjugate him anymore. It just happens to twist into an awful rage that rots him during the gladiator days because there he is, being controlled and subjugated, but its the only power he has. I think he'd fantasise about killing lucio, but becomes utterly hopeless because he knows he cant, lucio becomes this figure of absolute power because of just how powerless he feels against him in the arena (which would further explain his passivity!! Like the way he didn't seem to even try to find a way to escape or figure out if he could keep asra safe. once he was done with a fight he just becomes hollow and passive, without that anger driving him he just empties, andd would let himself be hurt if someone attacked him -- similar to how he is in his route when attacked by those muggers)

He's afraid of becoming that monster again, or the MC seeing that side of him at the very least. Anger being associated with combat would have been a very real obstacle to break down during their training which could have added complexity to morga's character and their relationship

it would also make his and Inana's first meeting and him leaving make more sense: she's the straw that breaks it, muriel is beginning to crumble, or he's almost at the point of no return is maybe a better narrative. she is completely calm and knowing, and since she is/becomes his familiar, he sees himself for a moment as she sees him, as everyone sees him, and he's brought back to reality. and that's when he runs away

Lucio with an MC Who’s “Definitely” Not Morga’s Family Favorite…

This is Lucio route btw. Very much inspired by @iliveforyouilongforyouvesuvia’s headcanon about the M6’s families with permission.

She denies all such claims. Actually, no. When Lucio whines and points out there is clear favoritism, Morga just replies, “Know your place, boy.”

Lucio begging you for your secrets.

(From the referenced headcanon, courtesy of Vesu) If your hair is braidable, she will braid it as often as she sees you with it down and scold Lucio for not taking better care of you. His response is, “But you keep yours down all the time!”, and she just huffs.

She told you a story from her childhood while braiding your hair once. When she was a little girl, she and the other girls her age used to braid each others’ hair during their free time, and on a day after they practiced how to tie knots, one of the girls accidentally knotted another girl’s hair and they had to chop it off…

Morga probably takes a liking to your magical abilities. Normally, she’d be a bit skeptical after Lucio’s Biggest Temper Tantrum, but after spending more time with you, she observes how you use it in your day to day and eventually comes to respect it rather than simply not care.

Ever since you started cooking for Lucio on some days, you’ve kept a vaguely written recipe book of your best work and Morga was a little unsettled how you took it out while cooking so close to the fire. When you explained you kept a fire resistant charm on the book, you might have grown a little on her. Not that it was obvious. With Morga, a huff could mean a yes or a no, and it seems like only Lucio knows the difference…

She tells you many embarrassing stories of Montag’s ventures, including the one where he fled a sick bear. She’ll tell the occasional cute baby story that she knows he hates. Oh, but she does NOT leave out her experiences of her pregnancy with him. It’s a source of humiliation for him, one that he cannot justify. Lucio trips over a branch? His legs must be weak from all that kicking back then. He feels a little sick? Get up, boy. I withstood the plague AND having you in my stomach for nine months.

If you’re feeling sick, she won’t do anything unless it’s really serious and she can actively help, but will demand Montag take care of you as he’s groaning that he already knows. It does unadmittedly please her when he shows he can hold his own and properly care for you at the same time.

Her frigid heart hurts a little when she sees you two fall asleep together. It reminds her too much of the past, and she is stubbornly unwilling to accept that Montag can change so drastically for another person.

If you give her a gift, her reaction is deeply based on what you gift her. She has no need for fashion or luxuries, but if you gift her things she can utilize, she’ll gladly accept, and she might even return the favor. Her gifts are always hand-crafted by herself.

You haven’t even brought up the idea of starting a family yet but she’s already lecturing you about children. “A word of advice. Pray that you receive a girl.”

BoomBoxRocks Headcannons

Venture and Junkrat together are already a very chaotic mix, and Lucio is their tiebreaker. He decides when to go crazy or when it's time to chill out.

Venture and Junkrat love demolition and playing in the dirt. Sloan talks a lot about specific qualities of rocks and things about the land they find interesting. Jamison can't keep up, his brain too slow, so he'll just nod his head and try to pay attention, even if it's going in one ear and out the other.

None of them can hear lol, they're always shouting and the others go, "Huh?? Say that again??" Lucio is always wearing headphones and the amount of concerts have really gotten to him. Lucio has probably accidentally booped himself in the face. I feel like he can amplify outside noises through his headphones as well! Junkrat already has a nonexistent attention span, and the explosions he's taken has probably turned his hearing into soft, ringing noises. Venture's drill is so loud and shaky that they still feel the vibrations even when they're not using it, and they hear the noise even when it's not there.

Lucio is the emotional support boyfriend of the group, and he's honestly the best at giving them advice, even they don't take it. He always speaks from his heart and there to comfort when they need it. Lucio gets bashful when Junkrat and Venture get super physical. He enjoys it, but they are so handsy that cuddles can turn nasty very quickly. That, and they are both covered in soot and dirt.

Venture is the gift giver of the group. They gave Jamison flintstone and steel, knowing his pyromaniac tendencies. For Lucio, they were lucky enough to get their hands on a vintage limestone lithophone! Lucio loves his gift, and uses it to make a heartfelt song about his lovers. Junkrat and Lucio try to get together to gift them something back. "It needs bombs!" Junkrat's onetrack mind speaks for itself. "That would be great, but, uh... it would explode." Lucio reasons. "Exactly!!"

They end up giving Venture a treasure map!! That way, Junkrat could not only include bombs, but Lucio was able to hide a little homemade volcanic rock bracelet along the way :)

Oh. Oh my. Be still, his rapidly beating heart (he really needs to cut back on the caffeine, but at least half of this is genuinely because of you) You're giving him affection?? In the best possible way???

You're fussing over his physical wellbeing when he's had a long day and helping him wind down?

You're playing music for him or telling him a story from your past?

By far your best stunt was when you decided to visit his clinic while it was closing to surprise him with a picnic dinner date

The front door was locked when you got there, so you decided to go through the back instead with the spare key he put in your bag a while back and completely forgot about ...

On your way through the back room, you spotted some of the spare uniforms and decided to throw on one of the coats and masks (as one does) to better surprise him

The surprised fumble, dramatic "en guarde!", and theatrical flourish with his own doctor's coat that you got when you surprised him was so typical of your first meeting that you fell apart laughing

The picnic on the docks afterwards where you reminisced on your (very successful) relationship so far was delightful

Oh, they're not used to this, and it's making them feel safe and loved and grounded in ways they don't know how to handle

You're offering constant reassuring physical touch, but leaving it up to him to accept it/only going ahead if he says yes first?

You're going out of your way to make safe, comfy spaces for them to take quick catnaps and breaks from the world and bringing them tea when they're deep in thought?

You're constantly bringing home things that reminded you of him and finding new niche experiences to treat him to?

They are turning into a puddle. They are melting through the floor. If this keeps up there will be water in their eyes and there is never water in their eyes -

It's not that he's incapable of accepting love, it's that he's become accustomed to carrying so incredibly much of it for you and expecting nothing in return, finding his reward in your happiness

But now it's like you're turning it all back on them and the connection they already feel with you is vibrant and alive in ways they never dreamed of experiencing

He can't help it, he is returning every single gesture no matter what

This is a little hard to pull off, at first, given how much of Nadia's love language shows up in the way she uses her vast resources to pamper you and make you feel special and important

Unlike her, you have about as much money as you need to live comfortably in the apartment above your shop. You don't have enough to commission seven gold owls in her honor

However, what's quickly obvious about her gifts isn't how much money she put into them, it's how closely she noticed your little wants and went out of her way to meet them

And now you can do the same

Keeping a small heating surface and teapot in her suite so you can have her favorite brew hot and fresh when she wakes up

Stitching a pouch of soothing, memory and focus boosting herbs onto a decorative scarf for her to use between meetings

Tending to Chandra for a little while every day so she doesn't have to worry about her familiar going neglected for very long

Introducing her to the glorious (though not very fashionable) concept of long underwear for the chillier Vesuvian months

This is so, so strange to him, he has no point of reference for this and therefore little to no means to control how he reacts

You even learned how to embroider so you could start putting together a new tapestry of the life you're building with him???

What nearly breaks him is when you start to cook dinners for him when he already has a habit of cooking breakfast

Sure, having a life where food is consistent is something he doesn't take for granted, and he's held onto the value of it long enough to make sure anyone who stays a while gets something (eggs)

But now it's a whole new level of safety and care where he can trust that neither of you are going to bed on an empty stomach, and he doesn't even have to worry about there being enough

If you start carving little companions for the wooden animals he's made and set them up like they're snuggling he'll implode

Is she used to receiving affection? Yes. She's a fairly well-adjusted adult with unmatched people skills, her friend group and social network are vast and she rarely goes forgotten

Is she used to being somebody's first affection recipient? ... not so much, no. She's the person who gets called up after her important people have called up their most important people

So to be your most important person ... that's new

She's hearing something from you before you've told anyone else?

You're not deciding on whether to attend an event until you know if she's going? She's the person you look at when you find something beautiful or funny because you want to see her reaction first?

If you brag about his swordmanship and survival instincts to other journeymen in a tavern after a finished job, he'll stare at you with stars in his eyes. If you call him handsome, he'll melt

Don't even get started on the massive boost to his security if you show him off. You ask him to give you a flourish while he's trying on a new red cape and compliment it to the vendor?

He'll be thinking about it all day (he might walk into a tree)

He remembers being a source of social discomfort for his ex-wife (and worse, his mother's shame for raising him poorly) but the moment you loudly call him yours it gets just a little bit lighter

The Arcana: When you feel you aren’t enough

Characters: Asra, Julian, Muriel, Lucio

Asra: He closes the shop and takes you to your shared room. He will lay down with you and cuddle. He starts to list off all the reasons why you're enough. If that doesn’t work, he’ll give you his secret book where he has written everything he loves about you and his favorite memories. He says he keeps this with him in case you forget him again, or in case he forgets you. He will stay with you for the rest of the day reliving memories and talking with you, making sure you don’t feel that way again.

Julian: He feels this way so he knows how to help you. He will ask you to tell him what you're thinking and he will make you write it all down. He will listen to you and kiss you whenever you need a break. Once you're done writing everything down he takes you to the dock and gives you a glass bottle. He makes you roll up the paper and put it inside, sealing the cap. He tells you to scream at the world and then throw the bottle into the sea and let your problems flow away with the waves.

Muriel: He knows how you feel because he often feels this way himself. He will make Inanna lay with you as he goes and gets you your favorite snacks and gets you a gift with what little money he has. When he returns he gives you everything he bought for you and cuddles with you. He lets you rant about why you feel this way, and he listens. Often speaking his thoughts, for example you say “I don’t like I do enough for you.” he would say “You do everything for me. You cook, clean, and make sure I feel loved.”

Lucio: Will give you a TON of gifts. Kiss you a million times on your forehead, lips, face- everywhere pretty much. Will whisper sweet things like “You’re most beautiful person I have ever laid eyes on,” “You do so much for me and I don’t know how to ever repay you,” “Without you my whole life would fall apart,” “I don’t think my life truly started until I met you.” He will cuddle you and ignore all his count duties for the day. He will constantly run his finger through your hair.

Asra

Let's be honest here - Asra lives for surprises. He has a tendency to live life one minute at a time, so if you're going to be with them, you're going to get used to spontaneity.

That said, if you hate surprises, he'll do his absolute best to avoid them, but... it still happens kinda frequently. They do try to soften the surprise element, though, and will let you know about their new ideas or plans as soon as possible.

But anyway! Assuming you're on board, Asra loves surprises. So, so much. It's practically part of their love language at this point. They're constantly bringing you little surprise gifts - "I just saw this in the market and thought of you!" - or arranging little surprises for you! You'll come home from a long day at work to find that the upper floor of the shop has been transformed into the most relaxing place he could create, with oversized pillows and the fluffiest blankets strewn everywhere, and plenty of their best tea, and incense sticks burning a soothing scent, and just... everything they could think of.

Asra's favorite part of surprises is the reaction of the person receiving them. He lives for the look of surprised excitement, the way their eyes light up and the way they smile. It's addicting, and as absent-minded as our favorite magician can be, his favorite people are often on his mind whenever they see things that said people would like.

They also just enjoy surprising people in general, like showing up unannounced to bring them lunch or just hang out, and playfully spooking people from behind or popping out from behind something. That's one thing Asra and Faust have in common - both of them enjoy games and harmless pranks, and Asra is associated with the fox for a reason! You've lost count of how many times you wake up and roll out of bed only to end up in a magical sinkhole of pillows, or slip your shoes on only to find them, somehow, made of water, or misplace a book or something only to find it in the most unexpected place... The prank wars with Asra and Faust will be epic!

As for being the one getting the surprise, Asra absolutely adores it. They'll love anything you give them, truthfully, but they're a curious one - mention you're planning something and suddenly he's like a child impatiently trying to find their present before Christmas comes. Good luck hiding it with Faust around, too, because she can slip into the tiniest of places to search. Best to keep it quiet until you're ready.

Throw a surprise party for Asra's birthday. Chances are, he might've forgotten it, too - after all, I don't imagine Asra is one to keep track of dates very well, and the calendar he's got is almost always at least a month behind whenever it actually is. Invite all their friends, make a big deal out of it. Make them feel really special for once, because he is special!! Asra might feel a little embarrassed being the center of attention, but trust me, the reminder that they're loved and appreciated is well worth it.

Also, if you can give him random little gifts?? Perfection. It'll make Asra's entire day to know that you found something and thought of him - or, even better, made something for him. Your skill level doesn't matter, so long as it's done with love, Asra will see the beauty in it and cherish it forever.

Nadia

I don't think Nadia is one for surprises, at least, not in the beginning. She's the Countess of Vesuvia, she needs everything to go smoothly and she must be on top of everything at all times. Surprises stress her out. If you'd asked her earlier, she'd tell you she hates them. 'Surprise,' to her, means some sort of prank pulled on her by one of her many sisters, or some stunt Lucio has pulled, or something being wrong that she must attempt to fix, a courtier showing up unannounced to insist upon speaking with her. All negative things, nothing good ever comes from a surprise. That is... until she meets you.

You change things for her. Showing up unannounced is no longer an annoyance that she must make time for, but a pleasant moment she wasn't expecting. Bringing her gifts isn't something that must leave her mentally scrambling for political reasons, but a completely harmless, well-meaning gesture.

She doesn't even realize her perspective on surprises has shifted until you grab her by the hand and tug her gently towards a mystery destination, cheerfully informing her you have a surprise for her. Her shoulders instinctively tense at the word, but for once, she isn't dreading what you have in store - no, this time she's eager to see what it is you've prepared, and she feels the flutter of excitement in her chest for the first time as you lead her. Perhaps it's a soothing spa day you've arranged in that incredible pool-sized bath to help her relax, perhaps you're leading her to a secluded room for a little tea date, or maybe you're leading her outside to go and gaze at nature together - whatever it is, she will surely love it, and surprise takes on a different meaning for her.

On the other hand, Nadia is one who surprises you constantly, though she prefers not to think of it that way at first. She absolutely showers you in gifts, little tokens of her affection, and she often plans things for the two of you as well, surprising you with little trips to various places and the occasional date to go somewhere more special and intimate. She's a very busy woman, so she doesn't often have the time for much in the way of event planning, but she wants your company wherever it is she's going and does her best to make it enjoyable and not just... work. Impromptu stops are very common on these little trips, as she'll see somewhere that she'd like to show you or a cute little shop and pause the journey to go explore.

I think it'd be freaking hilarious if Hanzo brought Cole gifts from his missions that were increasingly silly, especially things like bags or clothes or phone cases that he'd display on his person ALL THE TIME - at first they were just jokes but Cole loved them and proudly wore them, so Hanzo just keeps finding sillier and sillier vaguely cowboy-themed stuff for him just to see how far he can push it but Cole always loves them no matter how ridiculous they are and wears them, Morrison eventually going to Hanzo and being like "We have standards here and he was already pushing them to begin with, please stop." And of course, Hanzo immediately goes and finds the most over the top, ridiculous cowboy themed anything he can find and gives it to Cole as a 'fuck you'. Gabriel is probably just pinching the bridge of his nose in the background while Genji, Diva and Lucio are probably cheering the whole thing on and even subtly directing Hanzo to new things for Cole.

He finds the perfect item in a vintage store. A hideously bedazzled western shirt with a chaotic paisley design and obnoxiously long fringed chaps that goes perfect with a leather thong.

Of course the whole room erupts in chaos when Cole comes dressed in that for karaoke night. It’s quite the performance of “Any Man of Mine” where half of them are egging him on like Hana, Genji, and Lúcio. While the other half are just shaking their heads like Gabriel and Jack. And there’s just Hanzo, dying from laughter, the one where you’re in tears and can hardly breathe kind. It’s an absolutely memorable moment that many still bring up today.
