Clint’s the first to find you.

You’re sitting in the ditch your knees to your chest, head down and your wings wrapped around you.

“I have her, slow approach.”

He slowly knelt down in front of you, keeping a two metre distance. He had never seen your wings so dark, as black as they were now. You’d told him early on in your friendship that they changed colour with your moods. The darker, the worse the mood. He’d only seen them pure white a couple of times and it was always around his kids or laughing with Nat and Laura on the porch at the farm. But right now, they were as dark as night, like Lucifer himself had given them to you.

“Y/N? Sweetie it’s me. It’s Clint. Can you let me see you?”

Your wings dipped ever so slightly and your tear filled eyes looked back at him. It didn’t take a detective to figure out what had happened. Even his beta nose could pick up the stink of the alpha on you and he knew that scent. If he didn’t kill the alpha responsible, Romanoff definitely would. Clint knew what he had to ask you and he hated having to ask, knowing he really already knew the answer, but protocol was protocol and he knew at least a dozen agents that practically worshipped you and would bring in the piece of shit, to save him and Romanoff the trouble. They’d get you settled and then have him delivered to them. Wanda would want in on this and he was sure Wade owed you a favour. Yeah that would do it but now he needs you out of this ditch.

“Y/N? Do you require a female senior officer for debrief?”

You nodded weakly in reply.

Purposeful footsteps made themselves known and you saw Natasha’s silhouette appear from the darkness, the sparse street lights being all to light the ditch.

“Angel?”

The smell and look in your eyes hit Natasha like a freight train and she knew right then she was putting some red in her ledger. She tried her best to keep the growl muffled in her chest as she pulled out a pair of medical gloves from her pocket, as Clint mimicked her actions.

“Bruce call Hill, direct line, tell her we need her on a video call immediately. AR and SA suspected. Debrief required.” Clint requested over comms as he and Natasha slowly reached out to you, their hands outstretched. You placed a hand in one each of theirs and they slowly lifted you up, both noticing how your face contorted with pain.

“We’ve got you.” spoke Clint softly as he slipped an arm around your waist, “this OK?”

You let out a shuddered breath and nodded. Nat mimicked Clint’s actions, pushing down her inner alpha’s rage. Both supported you keeping the smallest of gaps between you so not to contaminate your suit too much and damage the evidence you were covered in.

The light breeze generated from F.R.I.D.A.Y bringing around the jet blew your hair back and Clint got a clearer view of your face, and could see a clear the mark where you’d been struck. Bruce appeared on the already lowered ramp and you noticed he was also wearing gloves and a disposable apron.

“Hills online and everything is set up.”

As you entered the jet you became aware of what Bruce meant and saw a projection of a live video call from Deputy Director Hill, a stern look on her face. A plastic sheet was laid in front of the screen, and on it laid a clear bag, swabs, scissors and nail clippers. You stepped on the sheet and Hill pushed down a growl, trying to hide it as a clearing of her throat as she saw the state you were in.

“Agent, please confirm your identity.”

You signed back.

“I’m going to need verbal communication if possible Agent.”

You gesture at your throat, getting frustrated when you realised you weren’t being clear.

“I don’t think she can.” Bruce replied for you, noticing the bruising making its way up your neck. He placed a tablet in front of you, the internal state of your vocal calls displayed.

There was a muttered Jesus Christ from Hill.

“F.R.I.D.A.Y give her a full body scan for injuries, fluids and any other evidence.”

“Agent, tell me what happened.”

So... going back to this idea again, I'm thinking on Loki's "champions." I would still go with Eric Masterson, Julie Carpenter, Daken, and Power Man, just with maybe some minor changes. Masterson is still Thor's Knowledge, and I want to go with Carpenter as connected to the Mandala, just probably without her being a Goddess of Creation, I'd give Daken the slight upgrade of his Hellverine powers, that or Death Seed enhancements, and pretty much make Power Man the "normal" one of the group. He still has powers, just arguably not as extravagant of powers as the others, as it's mostly Chi-enhanced physical abilities.

I do have one idea of a scene for if I did attempt to write beyond the basics: Thor making a big entrance at the battle with the Army of Chaos, Mjolnir smashing through Surt's chest, and the hammer nearly crashing into someone, maybe the protag Nahobino. I imagine Thor wants to be Creator just as much as any other and would want a fair battle for the Throne with the other Nahobino that have a horse in the race, so he makes the hammer miss by enough to send a message.

Giving it some thought, I never did think up who could be the one employing the DMC crew, and while some probably assumed Lucifer, which I did nearly go with, after finishing my first playthrough of Vengeance, I feel like Mastema would anonymously hire them. He has this look of manic glee once Tiamat is resurrected, implying he has plans related to her, and considering how he manipulates Dazai, yeah, he would have plans using the DMC crew as pawns. Especially once he sees that there may be a Nahobino and a Panagia in the group. If the Tori (what I named the protagonist) and company don't work out, if Thor/Masterson and company don't work out, he still has others he can use to keep the cycle going.

So, I guess in a way we essentially got Mastema looking to make Lucifer and Loki's wager meaningless if he felt like it.

Going into Robbie as a Nahobino again real quick, I think I finally have an idea of who I would make him the Knowledge of: Apollo. Most people may know Apollo for the sun and/or music, but he's also a god of some other things, but what really made me go with him is the slaying of Python, which while in the actual myth is really just a giant snake as far as I can tell, would by the game's definition make him a Dragonslayer, which could be helpful in the fight against Tiamat. Or maybe if I feel like dropping the Dragonslayer thing, because Thor can fit that, I'll go with Vulcan instead of Apollo. Also, had this other idea for Zarathos, where he is actually a very powerful Fiend, who was tricked by Mephisto and is basically used to make someone into essentially a Demi-Fiend, or at least something similar. I like to imagine that since the Fiends are beings of death, they don't really have Knowledge to be taken and then become part of humans, as humans were kicked out of the Garden by eating from the Tree of Knowledge, then stripped of eternal life. Or at least that's how I interpret some things from SMT just based on things we get in some dialogue.

So... continuing my thoughts on crossover ideas again, I had this thought after seeing some fanart... Devil May Cry/Marvel/Shin Megami Tensei crossover. Maybe have it be something like Nero is contracted a mission to test the Nahobino similar to how his uncle was contracted to test the Demi-Fiend, all while a different force, I'm thinking from the Marvel side of the idea, is looking to stop the Nahobino and/or take the Throne.

One idea I had for the Marvel side of things is maybe making Loki a sort of behind-the-scenes mastermind, maybe not in a bid to take the Throne but to find someone who can. Maybe he shows up to Lucifer and is like "Hello, old friend. Say... How about a little wager?" I only posit this idea because something tells me, even though I have not gotten very far into SMTV Vengeance, that Lucifer kinda likes that the Nahobino have returned. And going with Marvel's Loki, the God of Mischief is not above making things into a spectacle. Who would Loki put his bets into? I like to think he would bet on multiple horses in this race, as while not always the brightest, Loki can be pretty crafty. The ideas I have for who Loki would put stake into, and in all honesty most of my choices are some of the semi-known and some of the semi-obscure favorites of mine.

So far, for Loki's "champions," to put it one way, I'm thinking: Daken, Eric Masterson, Ben Reilly, Luke Cage and/or Iron Fist. Or maybe instead of those last two, I'll go with Victor Alvarez, who has taken on Luke Cage's hero name of Power Man but has chi-based powers like Iron Fist.

I also did just have the idea while writing this of maybe some Marvel characters are also now workers of the in-universe Devil May Cry business, so maybe they would tag along with Nero. I'm thinking that two of those Marvel characters that would are Robbie Reyes and Laura Kinney. Both have some experience with fighting demons, and I think it could be a fun dynamic to write for Nero, Robbie, and Laura. Maybe I could have it that they start by testing the Protagonist but as things go along start having some doubts and maybe start doing their own thing. I also had this idea of making Laura the Knowledge of Amaterasu, using her connection to the Uni-Power as a bit of inspiration. Also, thinking about it, Nero having a teammate who, unknown to them all, has the potential to take the Throne is a fun idea.

Another idea I had while typing this out is say making Nico Minoru into a Panagia, a Goddess of Creation, as the protagonist, with two Nahobino as the ones to sway her in choosing Order or Chaos. I don't know why this popped in my head, but I think it could be be a pretty cool idea to try writing.

Things played out well for you.

Of course it did.

Sure, you lost everything..But you healed. You accepted a new life. Hell, you even got the guy.

So why is it so..numbing?

Why do you feel like you're walking on thin glass, prepared to shatter under the weight of your heavy heart, when you wake up next to him? He’s not a bad guy. Remy Lebeau is anything but bad.

He’s gentle. Despite your past, your fears, he’s never once doubted you..so why are you doubting him? He knows what it’s like to lose someone. He lost you. Well, a version of you. 

That’s what has your mind all twisted.

Her.

Well, you.

It was haunting, knowing that there once was a you that he loved so much. You wonder if maybe..just maybe. If she was still alive, would you stand in the same place? Would you wake up next to him? Would you share breakfast together? Take care of the cats? 

The worst thing was, you didn’t know.

She meant so much to him.

Could you even compare to her?

You stand in the kitchen, the cats demand their breakfast. They circle you like you’re prey. Tiny predators pawing at your legs. They’re cute..demanding? But cute. Lucifer, the ginger cat, drags his claws down the food cabinet. You give him a look, something along the lines of, “seriously?” and in response..he does it again. Slower. He’s such a little shit. He really lives up to the name. Oliver, the grey cat, circles you. He nuzzles up to your legs. He's trying to use his affection to coax you into opening that damn cabinet. Finally, Figaro, the white cat, simply just sits there. Purring. He’s using his cute little face to try and win you over.

“Boys..five minutes, literally..just five.”

The door of the bedroom creaks open and there he is. Remy, He got out of the shower earlier, he’s dry and dressed now. Apart from his hair, which you can tell is a little damp still.

His scarlet gaze finds yours and he gives you a grin before turning his attention the his cats, who stare up at him expectantly.

“Boys..what’re you crowdin’ your momma for, aye? Where’s dem manners? You aint supposed to crowd a lady.”

He scolds them so gently, it's actually kinda funny. The best part? They listen.

Oh.

I should probably give context to your current situation.

After the near end of the universe, the destruction of your world and the pain and weight of it all..Wade wilson begged the TVA to let you stay right here. They obliged due to your..heroic acts and now you live across from Wade and Logan, who also agreed to stay. Wade retrieved Remy (and Laura) from the void, blah blah blah..you kissed, he moved in, you’re together and now you own three cats.

All caught up? Good.

Remy heads over to the cabinet, pulling out the cat food tin. The cats crowd him instead. A chorus of pleased meows follow him as he dishes up the food. Normally, you’d find a strange sense of joy watching him tend to his cats but today..you had this nagging feeling. It tugged at your heart, sending dull throbs of longing into your soul.

You were snapped from your trance by familiar hands placing themselves on your waist. The Cajun male presses a lingering kiss to your forehead. It tingles. You knew he was being sincere yet it all felt so..hollow.

“You've been frownin’ since ya got outta bed, chère. C’mon, Tell Gambit what’s got you all tied?..”

You meet his gaze. You always do. He finds your eyes all the time and the weight of his sentence. The affection, the care that’s laced into his words..

It cracks the wall you tried to build, the bricks crumble and you stand there..

Vulnerable.

Before you know it, tears begin to well up and it takes Remy no longer than a second to scoop you up. His strong arms encase your frame so gently, his hand runs up and down your back.

“Ma belle..what’s goin’ on? What’s all dem tears for, huh?”

He coo’s so sweetly, leading you to the couch. He takes a seat, pulling you into his lap so you straddle him. One hand lays on your thigh, his skilled fingers tracing soft circles against the skin whereas his other hand works on wiping your tears and pushing the hair out of your face. He runs a hand over your hair before cupping your cheek. All his movements are with practised ease. He knows your body like he knows his cards.

He deserves an explanation. 

He’s been nothing but a picture perfect boyfriend and you’ve been cold to him. You have no idea how he put up with it.

You gather yourself, alongside your thoughts, and you allow some much needed air into your lungs, soothing your nerves.

“It’s– it’s ridiculous really– I think..I'm jealous? Envious? I don’t know but– it's her! Me! Whoever it is! You..you loved her so much! How..how can i even come close to what she had– who she was to you–”

He was confused for a moment before it clicked. You felt..less inferior to his past version of yourself. He felt sick. A rush of nausea overwhelmed him. He never meant for this to happen. Not like this.

He watched the tears slowly slide down your cheeks, his thumb stilled. For a second, you thought he might shove you off his lap, maybe even leave out the door but instead his palms rushed forward to cradle your face. 

“Oh..chère..mon amour–”

He brings you closer, taking your hand and placing it over his heart so you could feel the steady thump.

“She..she was a piece of me– a piece of my past but oh..chère..”

You could hear it in his voice, he’s getting choked up.

“She ain’t you..and you ain’t her. Even Gambit knows dat. Ya got de same face but not de same heart. Not de same soul..”

He brings his hands down to find yours. His own eyes betray him, they grow watery as he presses kiss after kiss to your knuckles.

“Gambit don’t want you feelin’ like a replacement cuz you ain’t. You’re his future. Dat’s what you are. Ain’t no second choice.”

He presses his forehead to your knuckles, it’s like he’s silently begging for forgiveness. He inhales with a shudder.

You can’t find that feeling anymore. The feeling of nagging, the pain, the anxiety.

It’s all gone. Thanks to him.

Now it’s your turn, you tilt his head up with shaky hands and bring him towards you. His nose gently bumps against yours. He holds your wrists like he’s scared that if he lets go..you’ll vanish.

He knows what’s coming yet his heart still flutters when you press your lips to his. It’s slow at first but then a string of desperation ties itself into the mix. His usual skilled hands scramble to grasp your hips while you tangle your fingers in his hair. It’s soft, still a tiny bit damp from his shower but it’s soft. He pulls back only to kiss your cheek, then your jaw, then your neck. He continues to travel till he reaches your collarbone. The whole way down he praises you, he worships you like you're an angel on earth..and to be honest? When you hold him like this he thinks you just might as well be.

He finally pulls away, taking in your flushed cheeks and the dots of red that linger on your skin from his heavy kisses. He gives you a grin. You get to see his jagged canine peek out from his lips. He doesn’t need to say anything because you already know.

He doesn't need to say anything. 

But he does.

“I love you..Gambit loves you so much..”

The cats all clamber onto the couch, trying to figure out what all the commotion is for. 

You return his words, watching him reach down to scratch lucifer behind the ear.

“I love you too..”

It’s four words that bring a man, and his cats, so much joy.

Perhaps you didn’t have the greatest start but that doesn’t mean you’ll be stuck in the unknown for good. Not when he’s here.

When you get into bed that night, your heart feels full. You crawl into waiting arms. Large hands run up and down your back. You can hear the soft purrs of your beloved felines and that's how you know things are going to be fine. 

Remy presses a kiss to your forehead, humming softly as he checks on you, watching you fight the well deserved sleep that creeps over you.

He chuckles softly, his chest rumbles at his laughter and it pulls a sleepy smile onto your lips. With a final kiss against your hair, you hear him.

“You got me, forever..and dere ain’t nothin’ you can do about it..”

He’s teasing. You know he is because why would you wanna do anything about it? He’s perfect.

And he’s yours.

Synopsis/Context:

Year 16 of the Fourth Age of the Sun.

The Steward of Gondor takes a new wife. Éowyn of Rohan—his first wife and mother of his daughter Elenna—lies entombed in her native land, as she died giving birth to their son Elboron five years prior. Despite her heroic actions during the War, the Lady of the Shield-Arm had always been looked down upon by her Gondorians contemporaries and her daughter, who happens to be betrothed to Crown Prince Eldarion, has been subjected to mockery, derision and even physical abuse (often due to jealousy) because of her mother's perceived inferior status. Gondorians deeply despise the people of the Riddermark and Elenna is worried her brother—Éowyn's spitting image—might one day be treated even worse than she is. In her mind, Elboron needs a new mother. A Gondorian mother. She and King Elessar arrange Faramir's marriage to Finduilas, daughter of Angbor the Fearless, lord of Lamedon. Faramir and his new bride have barely spoken to one another and Angbor only accepts Aragorn's arrangement because he opines his daughter needs to marry (she had previously rejected all of her suitors and, at nearly thirty, is still unmarried which is cause of great shame in Gondorian society). Angbor sees this as a golden opportunity, a blessing from the Valar and the two of them are betrothed at once.

They don't know one another and they don't love one another. Faramir is still in love with his late wife and only accepts to marry Finduilas for his children's sake.

Here is an edit which sums up the circumstances of their union.

This is how I imagine them to be on their wedding day. A pretty miserable affair. She's attracted to him but she's afraid she won't make him happy and he's deeply unhappy because he is essentially getting married against his will.

They will eventually fall in love (though I suppose Faramir will always be in love with Éowyn) and will have two children, Faelivrin (named after her mother and grandmother) and Eradan. [Both of them are OCs].

I like to think of Finduilas as a slightly more refined version of Éowyn. Sophisticated, educated but also fierce and headstrong.

The silver dress you can kind of see in the moodboard is how I imagine her wedding gown to be like.

The Clash of Worlds

After Olivia finds that Arthur's hat had been stolen, she learns from a demon after Alyssa that she had taken it. Alyssa on the other hand had never even been to Manhattan, so she's completely unaware of the rapid approach of a furious and scorned mutant. But no matter what, Alyssa is willing to fight and clear her name.

The Clash of Worlds is currently being worked on! And it's going to be a huge clusterfuck of fandoms, having DMC/MBAV/SPN on Alyssa's end and X-Men/RDR/Heroes NBC on Olivia's end, hence "clash of worlds".

The main characters that will be featured in this are Alyssa, Olivia, Ethan, Benny, Sarah, Sam, Dean, Peter Petrelli, Logan, Laura, Storm, and Magneto. There will be appearances from a few other characters like Dante, Gabriel, Lucifer, Sylar, Erica, Rory, and Jesse.

It will be on AO3 as well as Tumblr, and Tumblr will have exclusive art for each chapter as I initially wanted to make this a short comic but I don't have the time or energy to do so right now. So instead here on Tumblr, there will be art for each chapter for one part of the story or even just a little side thing to add onto the story.
