ACOTAR anyone?

Heyo! 25 year old female writer here. I’m eighteen plus so please please please ensure you are before writing to me! Now about me, I do work but on a part time basis, quick fire would be nice but I can’t always be here. So you may see me post more depending on what ideas I’ve got and what cravings I have. But with my time off you can guarantee I’ll be posting more! I do prefer discord to conduct roleplays purely for the purpose of being able to keep things more organised! To make you aware I have finished the series and would like my partners to have a good understanding of the verse!

So I’m looking for those of you who can use third person, past tense and lots of detail. I say this not to be mean but because I do consider myself to be advanced literate, I expect potential partners to be the same! I’m looking for oc (me) x male canon characters from the above movies but I will enclose further fandoms and movies with in the post! I use third and past tense and would be grateful if you do too! Please note I do have dyslexia.

I’d love to get some aus going as well as some love triangles. Doubles are welcome! But please note ALL my roleplays are doubles. I will be prioritising those of you who don’t want to double and are happy to play canons. I’m just getting to a point where doubles feel transactional, I’d like to do something for myself where I can :). I’m not fussy with pairings I basically pair with any of the high fae and Illyrians aha. I have multiple ocs I’ve been working on for this verse and would love the opportunity to try them out. The characters I would be searching for are: Lucien, Rhysand, Cassian, Tam and Az. At a push I could do Tarquin my only concern with him is plot opportunity. I’d kill for a well written Cassian right now, ideally with someone who has read the fifth book.

I’d love our roleplay to be something of comfort to us both. Something to cheer us up and keep us engaged in the story! I have 1 WIP: A Love That Bleeds and a Koschei x Eris fic that's not posted yet (but close to drafted).

4. What was your favorite thing you wrote?

I love all my babes equally, but I am most proud of Just Enough Light to Cast Shadows, which was my first fan fic, and a true labor of love.

5. What piece was your most experimental or different from your usual style?

Monster feels different from a lot that I've written. It's pre-cannon and examines Lucien and Eris's relationship, and is not ship-centered.

6. Did any fics surprise you - either while writing or their reception?

My Azris modern AU The Night Court Lounge really took me by the throat. It was supposed to be a slutty little spite fic and then it just took off. The boys caught feelings and I caught feelings. But I have @pippsmcgee to thank for hyping that story up. She was the brain child behind a big plot point, the pet names, and just talked me through positions and timing and what ifs... truly a gift.

7. Do you have a fic you wrote and loved that went under the radar? (This is your sign to reblog/repost it!)

Hmmm... not sure? Maybe my Amarantha x OC fic? It's hard to write pre-canon stories, especially for a villain! A Love That Bleeds is pretty dark and touches upon themes of slavery, love and autonomy, and is different from much that I write. But I am so proud of it.

8. Who is an artist that inspired you?

There are too many talented artists to list. Here are a few: @nus4y who makes Azriel's skin literally glow and everything just screams passion. LOOK AT HIS BRILLIANCE on A03 (NSFW)

@queercontrarian never fails to surprise me. Their take on the Court fashions, hair styles, jewelry. So much diversity and representation. THIS is one of my all time favorites. THEEESAN.

@palomita-de-la-sangre whose style is so unique and gorgeous and raw. This is what I mean.

@seihdacalling is immensely talented! Her Eris and pups and JEL Eris? AND LOOK AT MITHRAS (my beloved OC).

@bloodyplunder whose work is so passionate and full of color and movement. LOOK at this! AND (NSFW) LOOK AT JEL CHAPTER 25 on AO3!

@fourteentrout is inspired and talented. And all around incredibly kind and supportive. Just brilliant. LOOK AT FIRE SPRITE ERIS

@laxibbeb creates characters' faces in a way that hold so much emotion. NESTA is a favorite, omg... and AZRIEL IN STIRRUPS.

9. Who is an author that inspired you?

There are SO many. First and foremost, @chunkypossum who welcomes new creators with so much warmth and support. Every single story. Every word is magical. @iftheshoef1tz is another legend who is so kind and warm and wickedly talented. Every single story is perfection. Will they adopt me as my Azris parents? Maybe. Congrats! It's a shoe-possum!

@the-darkestminds is truly someone I could write a book about. The emotions she brings out with her characters and words will leave you breathless. If you want to feel, read her stories. You will walk away so full of every emotion, but also with a newfound appreciation for each character. And @mistandmemories whose Eris is the funniest, most clever, most lovable in the biz. Her Azriel makes me laugh constantly. How you ask? Shenanigans. Windows, pants, awkward moments of self doubt and a precious inability to communicate. Go read it. The plots, the politics. The WIT. The decades of delicious edging. (It was several chapters but gods it felt like a lifetime).

These two have been writing their own multi-chapter fics beside me this year, and without their friendship and support, I probably wouldn't have finished. ILY!

@pippsmcgee will never be rid of me and my neurotic little paws. This one just looks at a story, a character, a scene, and says "you know what will make it even more (painful, sexy, exciting)?" And you better listen. But she also wrote a beautiful story about young Azriel that inspired me so much this year.

@shadowsandlint is full of talent-- Her prose is layered with meaning and flows so naturally. I can't put her stories down.

@zenkindoflove For her OC Alexius, who is my baby forever and ever. Creating an OC is gutsy and brave and takes so much talent. She's got it all. Also stunning world building and dialogues! And don't get me started on Elucien...

@talibunny30 For her depictions of young Nesta and her OC Boudica. She shows so much of Nesta's trauma in a thoughtful and honest way. I love it!

@neciebee whose writing is like poetry. Every time I read it I'm like, wait! Come back. Tell me more. I want... more? Gimme!

@witch-and-her-witcher whose fics are so magical. Her Nessian is my all time favorite. Nesta, Cassian, the Illyrian culture that she built for us. Just stunning.

@born-to-riot for VAMREN. But also sexy plots, hilarious shadows, and fluffy Azris moments we need.

@acourtofladydeath for writing pieces that challenge readers to sit with uncertainty-- gray characters and grief that lingers but also carry lessons and hope.

@secret-third-thing for such perfect storytelling-- every word matters and every image counts. The descriptions and details are exact, the settings are lush and imaginative. Also, Artaban.

10. Who is a new author you discovered?

@g00seg1rl who writes smut like a witch. A very sexy witch. @nus4y who is another sexy witch? Watch out for these two. @jolenes-library is so talented! Motorcycle Azris AU. Enough said. @buffy-vanserra whose prose is beautiful. Every word matters. @clockwork-ashes has so many lovely pieces I couldn't choose just one. @unanswered-stars for those damn letters. You know the ones. I'm still crying. @yanny-77 : Best Elain in the biz. And the Lip Ring.

11. Did you do any collaborations? How did it start?

@brunetterebel010 @mistandmemories and I wrote A Solstice Carol. It started as a lot of joking about Rhys being Scrooge. And it became a true passion project! @talibunny30 helped with brainstorming ideas and beta reading, and @fieldofdaisiies and @pippsmcgee beta read.

Also my partner in crime in all Azris fics: @pippsmcgee who talks me through plotting the political animal, asks the important questions, and twists the knife of angst. She keeps my eyeball obsession in check.

12. What accomplishments are you proudest of?

I'm most proud of Just Enough Light to Cast Shadows. It really is silly, but finishing it, right at the end of 2024, and looking back at all the new friends I've made along the way, and how it has touched other people just makes this year feel special.

Thank you so much to @pippsmcgee for helping me land that plane. And for being my very first comment, ever. When I saw you and @talibunny30 and @neciebee were reading, I felt legit. And to @mistandmemories and @the-darkestminds who were on this journey with me. It was so important to walk beside you during it all!

13. What did you learn about writing or creating this year?

Write was brings you joy. Comparison is the thief of that joy. You can only write your own story, and it's ok if it's not for everyone. Because a story that is everyone's is probably no one's, you know? It will reach the people it needs to.

Outlines are important (for my process). They saved my ass so many times. And beta readers. And friends. And reader-readers. They all saved me too.

14. What is your advice?

Surround yourself with people who cheer you on. Be sure to support other creators. The community aspect of fandom is important. We're all just out here putting our hearts onto the screen and hitting Post.

15. What are your creative goals for 2025?

Finish A Love That Bleeds, Finish my Koschei x Eris fic, and start plotting out a longer Azris multi-chapter fic. It's a little seed right now, but one day soon...

Since you didn't mention any pairings, I interpreted this ask to mean you were either agnostic to pairings or wanting Gen Eris fic recs. So I decided to do a list of Gen Eris fics and also call out the other writers in this fandom who have written Eris x Male OC as a central storyline in their fics. I assume if you're asking me, it means you're familiar with my Erixius fics, and I'm gonna guess you'd be into reading other Eris x Male OC fics too! These fics are amazing and don't get nearly enough attention that they deserve.

Eris x Male OC

Fini by tessabeth (sorry not sure if on tumblr) This one-shot is about a young Eris who enters training as a gentleman and courtier, and falls for his instructor Olivier. Eris is so naive and hopeful in this fic. And Olivier is lovely and beautiful. It played like a movie in my head.

His Father's Song by @the-darkestminds By one of my really great friends, this one-shot also explores young love for a young Eris, who meets another Autumn Court boy by the name of Liam. They become best friends and slowly fall in love. Julia is known for her angst so make sure you get lots of tissue for this one. It punched me in the throat.

A Court of Burns and Truths by @summerbummin This multichapter fic was one of the first other Eris x Male OC centric fics I found. Rapheal is rambunctious and caring, and a healer Peregryn from Dawn Court. This fic also features a lot of other characters and fun pairings too!

A Court of Embers and Starlight by @olenvasynyt This is technically Lucien-centric, but this multi-chapter fic features several Autumn Court characters including Eris-focused chapters as well as Eris with a Male OC love interest. He's only just been introduced, but I'm so excited where Dana goes with him and Ensel. So far it sounds like they had an angsty/forbidden style relationship.

Gen Eris

A Blood That Burns by @fourteentrout This is a lovely one-shot that explores the relationship between Eris and his mother. It's nuanced, poetic, and doesn't flatten their mother/son relationship. I still think about this fic often because it had such a big impact on me!

This ain't no love that's guiding me by @lovely-vanserra-sunshine This two-parter explores a younger Eris, and the dynamics of his early days when he enters the courtship scene as the heir to Autumn. I love the vunerability of young Eris in this fic. @lovely-vanserra-sunshine also has a multichapter Eris-centric fic called Fanning Flames which I still need to read, but I've heard many many wonderful things and after reading this fic I'm sure it will also be what you're looking for.

something i appreciate deeply about my fellow shippers—whether you're a gwynriel, azris, elucien, multi-shipper, or just someone who enjoys exploring different dynamics is that we'll entertain concepts and even art/fics that might not center our ships, even if it's an OTP of ours. i feel like there's no question that any of you guys have most likely made up a majority of my fics' audiences despite the Az/OC pairings.

i love how i can tell that people in these sections of this fandom are truly invested in the development of the characters themselves and what their HEAs will be.

example: i'm sure some of my fellow gwynriels (even if they aren't my mutuals/aren't on tumblr) have read my fic even if the gwynriel relationship is platonic because they genuinely care for gwyn and azriel as characters both independently and while being part of the same ship. (and i also don't pit women against each other in this house so gwyn is tight af with solara in ACOSAR)

i'm sure azrises have read my work, too, because i'm leading up to eris being involved in ACOSAR and ACOAAS, and fleshing him out with the love and care he deserves--facing beron, mending his relationship with lucien, seeing who he is beneath the mask he has to wear in autumn, etc.

my fellow eluciens are getting fed soon so i know y'all are here and also being patient af, and i love you for it ;) elain is also getting her own development, and lucien is getting SO much overdue love in ACOSAR! like gwyn, elain is not pitted against any love interest in my works because we are girls' girls here.

and of course, my beloved azriel stans above all else--i hope i'm keeping you all fed and happy in my effort to give our man all the love, appreciation, and development he deserves.

Hello everyone! I’m a 25 year old female advanced lit writer seeking other adult writers (18+) , today’s craving is the hit movie and tv show Cruel Intentions. I am ideally looking for an au based off the shows verse as there are a couple more characters in that. But it could be fun to do a 90s twist on it regardless!

I am looking for those of you who are okay with oc (fem) x cc (male) pairings and who use past tense, third person and detail. I usually use around 3-6 paras and I’d like potential partners to be able to match. Please do not be offended if I ask you for writing samples, unfortunately due to several bad past experiences it’s now something I do before entering into a roleplay.

Describe your writing process from idea to posting/publishing?

I get the best ideas while driving or showering and then struggle to remember them later.

Its a mess, it truly is, i have thrown away everything my hs teachers taught me. I have 35 WIPs that as soon as I think of a scene, ill spit it out and then move onto the next. I am writing CH 15 of my fic while CH11 remains bare and empty.

Are you a plotter or a pantser?

I have no idea what a pantser is tbh, I just started writing 2 mos ago. Still catching up with the lingo and all the different sites I need to learn.

I generally have an idea of a plot, and at the top of every CH or Word doc I will write a brief synopsis of what I want to happen, but for the most part i am possessed by the characters and I am just as shocked as yall are about what came out of my fingertips.

What do you listen to when you are writing?

Studio Ghibli Study music. I draw a lot of inspiration from BVB, MIW, Heather Dale and Misbehavin Maidens, but while I am actually writing I cannot listen to lyrics because my ADHD paired with my dyslexia will have me out here just writing the lyrics down.

There might be a Tarquin Bonus Chapter coming that is based off The Maiden and the selkie by Heather dale but shhh!.

What’s your drink of choice(while writing)?

It depends on Time of Day but I am the stereotypical 3 drinks at once person: 1 for hydration (water), 1 for caffeine (tea or coffee, I have a terrible addiction to both), and 1 for fun (hot cocoa, dr. pepper, or kool aid)

Promote yourself! What’s your favorite thing you’ve written?

I do really like my main fic A Court Reborn, it is a self indulgent fun story to write and a few people seem to love it, which I am floored by. I honestly did not think it was going to do well being my first multi chap fic and all. It often has me crying over my keyboard going "Lucien will be happy if it kills me." While it is a Pro Tamlin, Tam x OC, It also focuses on building and encouraging Lucien and Nestas healing to set them up for Elucien and Neris respectively.

But I also love the accessibility of my one shots/ drabbles, reader fics. Not everyone has the time to invest into reading a full fic so a quick chap to make you feel better before you continue scrolling is great.

Share a fic of yours that you think is underrated/deserves more love.

I did kinda hope for Lucien and Eris Make Up to do better than it did, but I am a new writer, not everything is going to stick and do phenomenal. I like it, and thats what matters ♥

Do you have any advice for new writers?

Comparison is the thief of joy, but also, it is understandable that you would like some feedback for your writing, I feel the same way!

I miss a lot on here, if you are one of my moots and you feel your fic did not get enough love, tag me! Send it to me! I will hype you up!! I follow you for a reason, and that reason is that I think you are great and anything you post, even if we have never had a conversation before, I want to read it!!

What is a writing style/technique that others do really well that you'd like to get better at?

Slowing down, fleshing out the scene. I get too excited when I write and rely heavily on Cannons depictions of the places themselves. I feel I am getting better at it though and reading back through my fic I can see in real time my writing improve and I think that is pretty cool.

Is there a character you were surprised you enjoyed writing as much as you did?

Lucien. I am enjoying babying him. "Yes you are a powerful Heir to Day Court, but you also deserve head scratches and forehead kisses." No my OC is not going to end up with Lucien romantically, my goal is to convey a loving older sister figure to him. Yes there will be a part where she clashes with Eris over him "hes not YOUR little brother"/ "he is now"

On the flip side, Tarquin is proving more difficult. In my head he is so calm, cool and collected, but I myself am chaotic. I am trying so hard to do his character the justice he deserves.

How did you go about creating Andras in your current fic? I imagine that process is a lot like creating an OC since we do not know much about him, but I was curious what your process was going about it :)

This is a great question, @crazy-ache! I'll try to not include spoilers, since there is a LOT about him that I haven't revealed in the story thus far, but I can't make any guarantees that this answer will be wholly spoiler free. My process is also a little backwards - I'm an artist more so than a writer, so I need to know how characters look before I can write them, and I go into that below!

Something that always got me about ACOTAR was the sacrifice aspect of him going across the wall. Why was this so devastating, specifically, outside of the obvious loss of life of a friend? Was it because he was the first person in decades to go across the wall? So that was my starting point. I needed an emotional gut-punch aspect to his sacrifice, which was the biggest reason I made him young.

And I mean young, in a fae sense. I've alluded to it a few times over the 6 chapters up, but in truth, he's maybe 70 years old at most, so practically a child to multi-centenarians like Lucien and Tam and still old enough to be wondrous to humans coming in from across the wall. And there's a reason that someone that young would be a sentry working in Tam's service, but I've only included one super brief scene about it: when he flashed back in the wake of the martax attack to silver hair tangled in cherry blossoms. Andras hasn't had an easy life, for several reasons, and Tam sees him as a surrogate son in many ways, while Lucien sees him as a much younger brother. Thus, losing him, as per the original plot? Would have been devastating.

Making him younger also makes it a little easier to write him, though. For one, it's less backstory. Two, it means that in a lot of ways he sees the world in a similar way to the Archeron sisters, because he hasn't had several centuries to absorb a ton of knowledge and become thoroughly jaded. His journey is going to be one of a lot of growth, and it'll include aspects like fate and choice and what's the threshold of like vs love, and I felt way more comfortable approaching those themes with a 70 year old, versus someone 500+ years old who really ought to know better and yet doesn't.

Lastly, appearance-wise, though, there is a reason for the silver hair and his general prettiness. That would be a MAJOR spoiler, though, so all I'll say is - I based how he looks off of the fact that he was kind of a silvery wolf (silver fur... silver hair... it was low-hanging fruit) and a drawing I did for a DMsGuild/DTRPG Supplement a few years back. This one, to be specific:

As the story continues, it'll become more and more obvious what he is. :)
