It was a rather successful party and Ada was glad that she came and didn't stay at home. Her girl friends practically dragged her out and here they were, sitting on a table, smoking cigarettes, drinking and enjoying the music. They were talking about the men in there, their favorites were the men in uniform... even Ada had a soft spot for them, most of them looked really handsome. But there was one who caught her eye.

However, she didn't say anything, she didn't tell her friends which one was the one she thought it was really cute. That would be social suicide, particularly with Catherine who would basically call this guy and be really obvious and obnoxious about it. So Ada focused on her drink, glancing at him every now and then.

"Ada" one of her friends giggled. "There's this cute one looking at you... he has been staring the entire night" she grinned as she leaned over the table, as if it was a secret between them. "Right over there at the bar..." she grinned.

"Hush now" Ada repriminded her even though her cheeks turned quite red as she looked at the bar and saw him, the one she had been eyeing the entire night.

"Oh God, he's coming over here!" One of their friends giggled and Ada's stomach twisted nervously. "Y'all act natural" Eloise said, making Ada roll her eyes before she finally looked up and saw him there. Oh God, he was even more handsome upclose.

"Her name is Ada and yes, she would love to dance with you" Catherine said and Ada had never felt so mortified in her life. "Catherine!" She scolded her before looking up at the handsome soldier. "I am so sorry about that..." she said, biting her bottom lip even though she was slightly amused by her friend’s attitude.

A review for The Burning Shadow by Jennifer L Armentrout . Evie never really expected that her life would be so entwined with the luxan world. After finding out that she's not Evie, that she was given this identity after she lost all her memories, it was hard for her to come to terms with it. But she got through it, accepted it. She tries to venture into her past life, trying to understand who she was and who she is now because she knows that she's not Evie. Luc is with her the whole time and they grow closer. Evie is conflicted with her feelings for Luc because she knows that he was in love with the person she used to be and she wonders if that has changed because of what happened to her. The unrest between the humans and the luxan are rapidly increasing. Innocent people were killed implicating the luxan had done it. This caused distrust among the masses. Riots and raids continued and the luxan were treated as a danger to the people. There is so much more about Evie that was a total mystery in the first book. She's something different. The serum that saved her turned her into something else. She's definitely a badass no doubt but when her powers are unlocked, turning her into a killer assassin, she forgets everything and gets down to killing whoever is in front of her. She is programmed to kill whoever she perceives as a threat. I so need the last book. The way things have ended in this book. I'm stressed out. Shocked. I cannot stop thinking whats going to happen in the next book.
