It was a rather successful party and Ada was glad that she came and didn't stay at home. Her girl friends practically dragged her out and here they were, sitting on a table, smoking cigarettes, drinking and enjoying the music. They were talking about the men in there, their favorites were the men in uniform... even Ada had a soft spot for them, most of them looked really handsome. But there was one who caught her eye.

However, she didn't say anything, she didn't tell her friends which one was the one she thought it was really cute. That would be social suicide, particularly with Catherine who would basically call this guy and be really obvious and obnoxious about it. So Ada focused on her drink, glancing at him every now and then.

"Ada" one of her friends giggled. "There's this cute one looking at you... he has been staring the entire night" she grinned as she leaned over the table, as if it was a secret between them. "Right over there at the bar..." she grinned.

"Hush now" Ada repriminded her even though her cheeks turned quite red as she looked at the bar and saw him, the one she had been eyeing the entire night.

"Oh God, he's coming over here!" One of their friends giggled and Ada's stomach twisted nervously. "Y'all act natural" Eloise said, making Ada roll her eyes before she finally looked up and saw him there. Oh God, he was even more handsome upclose.

"Her name is Ada and yes, she would love to dance with you" Catherine said and Ada had never felt so mortified in her life. "Catherine!" She scolded her before looking up at the handsome soldier. "I am so sorry about that..." she said, biting her bottom lip even though she was slightly amused by her friend’s attitude.
