An underrated aspect of Luffy’s character is how constantly grateful he is for everything. This is the first time he’s had an opportunity to really talk to Robin face to face since Water 7, and yet he’s the one thanking her. Absolutely incredible.

It’s little exchanges like this that make One Piece so charming as a series. I love one (1) idiot rubber captain.

This is a nice Luffy moment. In One Piece, there are no dreams that are deemed too small or insignificant, so long as the person dreaming them has the conviction to see them through. Toto’s got conviction in spades, and I think Luffy recognizes that here, and decides to help him out out of respect to that.

I feel Zoro’s fight with Cabaji is often overlooked in the examples of Zoro threatening/attempting to mutilate himself in order to win a fight, possibly because the anime censors it to him simply allowing Cabaji to land another hit instead

And of course Monkey D Luffy, aka the kid who stabbed his own face to prove his toughness, thinks he’s the coolest thing since sliced bread
