Zhalia’s Self Help Book
Zhalia: Hey. Lucas.
Lucas: What do you want? *Typical Lucas Grump*
Zhalia: Relax, Casterwill. Look, your sister and I didn’t exactly hit it off when we met either. I want to skip that whole ‘I don’t trust her’ stage this time around, so I made you something that could help you out with the whole Sophie situation. *Tosses book into Lucas’s lap*
Lucas: Oh. Well...Thanks, Zhalia. I guess you aren’t all that bad.
Zhalia: *Sauntering off* Yeah, I get that sometimes. You should probably read that.
Lucas: “Zhalia’s Guide to Self Help for Casterwills.” ...Interesting title.
Lucas: ...
Lucas: All these pages just say ‘Step 1: Don’t be such a dick.’, ‘Step 2: Listen to Sophie.’, and ‘Step 3: Seriously stop being such a dick and work with the Foundation.’
Lucas: ...
Lucas: Oh, there’s something else at the back.
Lucas: ‘Oh yeah, I almost killed your sister at one point but don’t worry, we’re pretty good friends now. If you fuck up being a brother to her I’ll be third in line to kick your ass behind Lok and Dante. Regards, Zhalia Moon.’
Lucas: ...Sophie’s friends are weird.

What are the Huntik team’s biggest fears? (Including Cherit if that’s okay?) Thanks.
Okay, I’m gonna do one serious to canon (since we sort of see the main team’s biggest fears in their visions in the second season), and then one silly/not super relevant to canon one. And of course I’ll do my boy Cherit!
Dante
• His biggest fear is failing the team as their leader. This means leaving them to do things on their own when they aren’t capable whether it is because he is dead or incapacitated. He is also equally afraid of betraying the faith Zhalia has finally put in him.
• He’s afraid of hooking himself when he’s fishing. He has never once hooked himself with a barbed hook and, while he knows it would be very mild, the thought of it does scare him. Mostly because it would hurt his pride when he had to go to the hospital to get it removed.
Zhalia
• Zhalia’s biggest fear is her past coming back for her and hurting the people she has come to care about. She’s terrified of her old connections harming the team.
• Small dogs make her anxious. They’re less predictable than large dogs and statistically more likely to bite and attack. She also thinks they’re annoyingly.
Lok
• Is afraid of failing to help his father, and being betrayed by those who have helped him thus far.
• This one also sticks to canon, but like Indiana Jones Lok is afraid of snakes. They give him the willies and he does not like that.
Sophie
• Sophie is afraid of losing the control she had over aspects of the Casterwill family, but she is also afraid of being alienated from her heritage. She already remembers so little of Lucas and her parents, and there is so much about the family that she never got to learn.
• Oddly enough, she is afraid of crabs. She thinks their claws would hurt far too much to be worth being anywhere near them. The way they walk sideways also weirds her out.
Cherit
• He is afraid of once again forgetting the humans and titans he has come to know. He cannot remember his bond with Casterwill, but he knows it had been a strong one. He is afraid some day he will not remember the good times he has shared with the team.
• Cats scare him because they often mistake his tail for a toy and pull him down.

hello love, are you taking headcanons for the meme? if so could i get a heartcanon for sophie for the sophie appreciation wave? 💕
For Sophie Casterwill Appreciation Month? Always. 💕
It’s not exactly warm fuzzies inducing and I think you can still find the rationale for this but…
I like to see Sophie as a bit of a book hoarder. There’s still her childhood bookshelf in the library and she owns (at least) two copies of each of her favourite books - one new copy for public display, one worn and torn copy to keep in a hidden stash in her bedroom. In the moments of distress, Sophie goes through them all, reading her favourites for the umpteenth time and finding comfort in them all the same. Do they count as comfort books when, in truth, books like these were her first friends other than Santiago? Sophie’s very protective of these books and she hides them not because she’s ashamed of them (though at least one of them has unbecoming food stains from when she was little and didn’t know any better) but because they are so special for her. They are the most private part of her, far more private than any collection of her favourites that can be found in the mansion.
Not really a heartcanon since I think I can explain it quite well but definetely warm fuzzies inducing…
Sophie’s both rich and generous to people she likes and so birthday presents from her are always a treat. Sometimes it’s just a gift itself, sometimes it’s a gift with a package of a surprise party or quality time spent together. It just depends on a person. Sophie’s well organized and has everyone’s birthdays written down in her calendar waay in advance. She’s good. Okay, she’s still struggling with Lucas and it’s her second year but still good. She’s got this. However, there’s no one, not a single person on Earth, that she serves a better birthday treatment than her little cousin, Viviane Casterwill.
Their relationship is basically: 1) genuine sympathy, 2) Sophie being drawn to Viviane due the younger girl’s wide-eyed flattery, 3) Sophie’s guilt over Nimue dying, 4) Sophie’s desperate need to younger sister zone somebody once Lucas entered the picture.
Sophie’s busy - so terribly busy with her studies, with the Huntik Foundation, with her own very complicated relationship with Lok - and though she does her best to keep in touch with Viviane, she always feels that she doesn’t do well enough. (Objectively it’s not bad at all and, Sophie, you still need to sleep, but tell her about her perfectionist streak.) It doesn’t help that Viviane living in a literal cave doesn’t have the best grasp on money and that all of Sophie’s friends are (mostly) grown ups who refuse to be spoiled by her. So she splurges on Viviane, making sure that Viviane’s birthday is something Viviane herself will never forget and, because it’s Sophie, Sophie who has been picking clues from Viviane’s messages for the entire year, it’s absolutely glorious.
No wonder that after each subsequent birthday Viviane ends up loving and admiring Sophie even more.
And then she gets older and figures out the paychecks behind her cherished memories and things get awkward.

Sophie Casterwill Appreciation Month
Since there is so pitifully little Sophie (and Lophie) content in here, I decided to make things more even and thus I will go on a posting spree.
Things that will be posted: - Sophie Casterwill content, - Lophie content, - posts about the most important people in Sophie's life - LeBlanche, Santiago, Lucas Casterwill - and Sabriel.
Personally, I will publish about thirty new screencaps featuring Sophie. Perhaps a lame fanart of my own. Perhaps a rant because I am so tired of people saying how problematic Sophie's crush on Dante is... while it really isn't.
I will also reblog a lot of my older content. It probably won't be an issue, I doubt all of you know my 4-year-old screenshots, but, for your convenience, I decided to tag them #Sarkazm attention reblogs. Feel free to blacklist the tag.
I want to keep publishing 6 posts a day and though I have accumulated a fair share of content, I highly doubt it is enough to cover even just the most of December. If you wrote or drew anything and you're afraid I may skip your work, please, send me the link via Tumblr messenger. (Sophie critical content is fine, just please, do not make it the main focus. Sophie gets so little attention from the fans nowadays, it would be in poor taste to criticize her only.)
@huntikjunktik @ropuszysko @huntik-france @weirdponytail @fablewolf44 @jesslysue @secretsandseekers @makipagusapan @emyy250 @jaynefray @ktlnz and all other active members of the community I forgot about.

“The Lucas Problem” pt 1 (Huntik Fanfiction, SnT drabble)
(A/N: Part one of that Lucas drabble I’ve been bashing out. Everyone is a little OoC, Lucas is a rude and grumpy jerk, and Zhalia sets him straight about toying with the Fears brothers abandonment issues. Dante is just as protective of the brothers as his girlfriend is, and Lok and Sophie take their roles as ‘big happy family don’t mess with us’ quite seriously. Feel free to critique the parts with the Casterwill team, I’m still very shaky on how to write them. :3 cheers!)
THE LUCAS PROBLEM
It was a rather crowded week at the Venice Casterwill Townhouse.
See, there had been a bit of emergency remodeling at Dante’s house. The various attempts by Blood Spirals to break his home defenses had, in a final cosmic act of petty vengeances after their defeat, managed to collapse the shields two weeks after the defeat of the Betrayer.
And it also collapsed part of the plumbing. So until further notice, Dante and Lok were crashing at Sophie’s place.
To make it even more crowded, not to mention slightly awkward for Harrison, Zhalia had appeared with the Fears boys. She had an order from Foundation HQ to move out of her apartment because of multiple threats on her and Harrison’s lives. Due to a few being anonymously sent from what appeared to be low tier Casterwills and even a few Foundation foot soldiers, not to mention the remaining Blood Spirals, the former spy thought it best to take refuge with the actual Casterwill leader.
With Sophie’s influence and protection, Zhalia would actually sleep a little better than in a hotel, knowing that any carried out threats from Casterwills would be met with something they feared worse than death: Excommunication. Harrison would be safe with the team and Zhalia watching him until they found a suitable apartment that would quickly be rendered safely invisible via ‘Does Not Exist’ Foundation blacklisting.
Then Lucas showed up, Dellix and Lane at his heels. “Family time,” he had said. Though honestly, it looked as if one of the other Casterwill elders had pinched his ear and told him to get to know his sister a little better now that they weren’t in danger of being shot at every few minutes. Seeing as Sophie hadn’t heard a word from her brother since the final conflict, it came as quite the surprise.
The team had all groaned a bit when they heard that Lucas was going to be around. Sure, he was a little more tolerable than when they first met, and everyone was quite fine with Dellix and Lane hanging out, but Lucas was still just a tick below insufferable in his high and mighty attitude. Even Sophie was nearly fed up with him by the third day of his visit, biting back some rather unladylike language she had learned from Zhalia whenever her brother sneered or commented on how LeBlanche’s way of cooking wasn’t exactly how a ‘proper Casterwill’ would have done it.
Poor Harrison and Den caught the brunt of the young man’s rudeness. Just bordering the edge of statements that the original Huntik team could justifiably call him out for, Lucas took nearly every opportunity he saw when around the boys to make snide comments about traitors and his team’s successes in hunting down the remaining Blood Spirals. Once he learned that they had grown up in an orphanage, instead of eliciting empathy as someone who had also lost both parents, Lucas seemed to view them with even more disgust than before.
Dellix and Lane, on the other hand, were near perfect houseguests. They helped with meals, joined in on any group activities the Huntik team happened to have going on, and were all around funny and enjoyable to have in the Townhouse.
‘The Lucas Problem,’ as LeBlanche had stiffly called it in a private conversation with Sophie one evening, reached a head by day four.
It was nearly lunchtime, and LeBlanche and Cherit had offered to make a refreshing summer meal for the group. Everyone else was gathered in one of the Townhouse’s split reading and media rooms. Dante and Zhalia were at one of the tables, scrolling through various activity reports and mission offers on their Holotome and Technomicon respectively. The younger two-thirds of the Huntik team was playing low volume video games on the massive TV that graced the wall above the fireplace. Dellix and Lane had taken the last remaining seats at opposite ends of the couch, cheering on whoever struck their fancy as they waited for a chance to swap in.
Lucas had decided to grace everyone with his presence half an hour ago, taking up one of the armchairs that tilted away from the television to read one of the Casterwill manuscripts he had dug up from the library shelves. Lok, ever good natured even to wet towels like Sophie’s brother, had invited Lucas to join them for a round but had been shot down more harshly than even Zhalia had managed before her betrayal. Dellix and Lane had quietly apologized, and soon it was all forgotten as the next match got underway.
Forgotten, that is, until it was time to pick a new game.
After three hours of Left 4 Dead co-op and verses, the play style was getting a little stale. Sophie opened up the cabinet filled to bursting with games for various consoles– all bought after much pestering from Lok and then Den later on– for them to peruse and was immediately mobbed by the Fears brothers.
“Smash Bros Brawl!” Den crowed, snatching the case from the shelf. “This’ll be great!”
Harrison shoulder checked his elder twin to the side, an impressive feat for such a boney boy. “No way! You know all the exploits!” He picked up the battered Game Cube case for the earlier version of the classic game. “Smash Bros Melee!”
Den’s eyes narrowed as he straightened from where Harrison had shoved him. “Brawl.”
Harrison bristled right back. “Melee!”
“Oh dear.” Sophie sighed. Lok grinned widely and patted the empty space on the couch beside him. “Here they go again.” The Casterwill heiress sat beside her boyfriend and leaned against his side. “You’d think they would have let go of this sort of thing after nearly killing each other.”
“Sophie, I gotta tell you.” The mirth was evident in Lok’s voice as the growled stand off between the twins grew to shouting. “When you actually grow up with a sibling…sometimes you don’t ever grow out of this kind of thing.”
“Hey.” Zhalia didn’t even look up from her Technomicon. It was nearly three weeks after the final battle with the Betrayer now, and she had learned to let Den and Harrison settle their differences in whatever way they saw fit. Taking sides or shutting their arguments down just led to miniature replays of the night the two had been separated, and brought up feelings of abandonment and betrayal. Letting the boys duke it out to vent their emotions over the trauma of the previous months ended up being the healthiest option she and Dante had found so far. “Keep it to an unpowered level, guys. I’m not cleaning up another busted window with you two.”
The twins grunted in acknowledgement and had the respect to place their argued game cases in the moderate safety of the cupboard…before launching at each other and ending up in a scrabbling knot of limbs and teeth and nails as they viciously wrestled on the rug in front of the fireplace.
Dellix and Lane had become used to the occasional spat between the two brothers during their visit. They sat back with Lok and Sophie on the couch, watching with amusement as the boys used every dirty trick available to them in attempts to gain the upper hand. The noise level increased exponentially, echoing down the halls and filling the room with mangled hybrid sentences of English and Dutch swearing.
All of a sudden, Lucas’s voice cut through the din.
“If you two don’t be quiet and act like civilized human beings, that woman is going to take you back to where she found you and bloody leave you there! I’m trying to concentrate!”
Lucas looked rather smugly satisfied at the abrupt silence his words had brought.
If he had taken the time to glance up from his musty old book he would have seen what a massive mistake he just made.
Den and Harrison had both frozen in place, wide eyes locked together in a look of shock and deeply ingrained fear of losing their home again. Sophie and Lok were both on their feet, and despite Lok holding Sophie back with a hand on her shoulder as she shook with tight lipped rage, the Lambert boy had blue sparks flicking off his clenched fist.
Dante’s glare was literally as powerful as fire. No one had noticed, but a tiny flame had burst to life on the table, which he had quickly smothered with his palm before turning his smoldering gaze to the elder Casterwill.
Even Dellix and Lane knew that their commander had crossed a line. The dark skinned swordsman subconsciously moved his hand to the sheath that rested against his knee, feeling the tension in the air thicken to a nearly unbearable level. Lane shifted uneasily as her fingers drifted to the amulet at her neck, ready to call Wildwood Druid at a moment’s notice if things seemed out of hand for her larger counterpart.
Zhalia had stopped at the sound of Lucas’s words, finger hovering over the final keycode rune to unlock the database entry she needed. If Dante seemed angry, then the woman across from him was at a level well beyond rage. She was at a point that surpassed any outward betrayal of the emotion, face deadpan as she slowly closed the lid of her Technomicon and stood.
Her voice, low and just barely containing the pure feral wrath that only Dante could feel rolling off her in heart crushing pulses, cut through the heavy silence like a razor bladed knife.
“Lucas. Sparing match. Outside. Now.”
Lucas waved her off, still engrossed in his book. The very idea of fighting Zhalia seemed to bore him. “I’m in the middle of a manuscript. Maybe later.”
The Casterwill elder let out a yell of surprise when an unknown assailant grabbed a fistful of his shirt on each shoulder and roughly yanked him over the back of the armchair, manuscript flipping from his hands and sliding across a nearby table. Dante wrenched the younger man around to bring him eye to eye, moving his grip to clench bunches of fabric so tight under his throat that it forced the Casterwill to lift his chin so he could keep breathing normally.
In an icy wave of realization, Lucas had the distinct feeling that he was looking a very angry, very protective, and very deadly lion in the eye.
And all that anger was focused on him.
“It’s rude to turn down a dance from a lady.” Dante growled. “But at any rate, she wasn’t asking, Lucas.”
A white steel sword suddenly appeared at Dante’s throat. In a flash Zhalia was at her partner’s side, and put herself between the bristling Dellix and seething Dante. Unafraid, she pushed the back of her hand against the flat of the blade, ready to deflect any ill-advised movement against her boyfriend’s neck.
“You had better put this away before I make you eat it, Dellix.” Zhalia’s soft voice held the fine edge of what was very much not an idle threat. “I’ve got nothing against you or Lane. I just want a chance to give your little leader a lesson in manners on the sparring field.”
“Oh, he’ll fight you alright.” The locked together foursome looked over when Sophie cut in. “Lucas, you went too far. This match isn’t a suggestion, it’s an order. From me.” Her green eyes flashed. “Dellix, Lane. Stand down. Zhalia and Lucas, you both have ten minutes to prepare. Meet in the courtyard and we’ll discuss the rules of the match. Dante’s referee.”
At the Casterwill leader’s command, Dellix stepped back and sheathed his blade, though a little reluctantly. Dante kept his gaze on Lucas for a long, tense second before shoving the young man back and letting go of his shirt.
As the Huntik team gathered itself up to head downstairs, Zhalia took a moment to slip past Lucas, getting very much in his personal space.
“I’m going to mop the floor with you, kid.”
Lucas was sure the woman had hissed those words in his ear as she passed, but hadn’t even glimpsed her lips moving. Despite the disturbing finality the statement had, he straightened his shirt and marched off to retrieve his amulets.
He was a Casterwill, after all. And no one would defeat him on his own ground.
(posting this on ff.net tomorrow morning because my eyeball is trying to explode. Friggin migraines, man...)

Ugh, okay, in Lucas Casterwill’s Defense...(some headcanon)
Per my previous post, still think Lucas is a dick.
BUT
We have only seen SpiralWarMyWholeDamnLife!Lucas.
He is very much a character that could grow into a more outwardly caring person. I did a bit of research into some PTSD topics for a previous group of fics I did for Inheritance Cycle. Now that I think about it, Lucas also seems like the type of person who, after the Spiral War is ended, would have a very hard time integrating back into a more regular life.
Yes, he’s still a Seeker, and Seeker life is very different in many ways from normal people life. But, as Dante adorably displays, Seekers still go grocery shopping. They still go to school if they’re of the right age, they have hobbies and go to movies and eat out and listen to the radio.
Lucas seems to imply that he’s been running and fighting ever since his and Sophie’s home burned down and their parents died. Sure, he probably found refuge in the Casterwill compounds scattered across the world, and was at some point in a more structured part of the Casterwill society to further his training and learning to take on the responsibility as the Elder of Nobles or whatever it was called and become a team leader with Dellix and Lane. It’s very hard to turn off the instincts of fight and run, hunt and hunted, especially if done since a young age after such significant trauma. Coming back from the defeat of the Betrayer, even knowing he has a sister alive and well, would be difficult.
So, to explain why I had the change of heart (sort of...he still has a lot of headcanon proving to do...), I wanted to point out that the drabble that i end up putting out on Show not Tell takes place less than a month after the end of the Spiral War. Lucas is pressured into getting to know his sister better by Dellix (implied that the Casterwill Council of Elders pushed him but no, Dellix went off on him for completely cutting Sophie off of contact after the war) and he’s still feeling like there is an enemy around every corner about to rip everything he just found away from him again.
I also wanted to put another idea out there that I had. Zhalia and the Fears brothers probably all have varying levels of PTSD that have to do with their particular upbringings. The Fears boys have deeply ingrained fears of abandonment, not just Harrison but Den as well despite his ability to squish it down better, and while Zhalia’s learning to manage hers since she got together with Dante, the three of them all know what it’s like to be afraid of something storming into their space and destroying every little scrap and shred of what they call theirs and their last little drops of hope for a future.
I donno, maybe i’ll explore it more in another drabble, where they (after lucas’s ass is thoroughly whooped for a certain transgression) pull Lucas aside and explain to him that he’s not alone, and to help start his process of getting through his issues he needs to start spending more time with Sophie. He’s got a great bond with Dellix and Lane, and he shouldn’t not hang out with them and stay a team, but he also needs to start being a part of Sophie’s life because despite her role as leader of the Casterwills and pivotal part in the war, he still doesn’t associate her with the Spiral War and sees her as something that is apart from the conflict. By spending time with her, he can start to realize that he isn’t in the Spiral War 24/7 anymore and start to relax into a more civilian Seeker lifestyle with Dellix and Lane.

What’s This Guy’s Name Again?
(Dante resurrects from destroying the Red Comet)
Dante: Well, well, well.
Dante: I leave for a nap and…
Dante: The Casterwills are crusading...
Dante: While the Spirals are invading!
Dante: *looks to Rassimov* Razzy! It’s been twenty minutes but it feels like years!
Dante: *turns to Lucas* And you…how are…uh…
Dante: I wanna say…Logan? *whips to Rassimov* Razzy, what’s this guy’s name again?
Lucas: *growl of insulted frustration*
Dante: Oup, better watch out for *mimics growl*!
Video clips from various Huntik season 1 and season 2 episodes, audio clips from Hellsing Abridged Episode 1 (intro clip music) and Episode 8 (speech).
Hands down this is one of my top 3 scenes from HUA. Had to do it for Dante’s return.

Lucas Casterwill. I am not a fan, good sir.
So, in the drabble I started franticly typing last night (and continue to do so now...), Lucas Casterwill comes off as a major dick.
Now, in my sieve-like defense, I’ve only properly watched season 2 once. I kinda fazed out whenever any of that Casterwill stuff was going on, because I found it quite annoying that no one listened to probably the most experienced person in the whole bloody room when it came to interacting with the Spirals (Sophie) because she was pretty much the only person NOT HIDING IN A FREAKIN CASTLETHINGYMABOOB. YES, MABOOB.
So, most of what I know of Lucas is the moments that stood out the most where he’s pretty much doing stuff that makes him out to be a dick. AKA, nearly all his interaction with Sophie, his poor leadership skills when it comes to commanding Dellix(sp?) and Lane, and him pretty much saying ‘YA I KNOW YOU GUYS ARE FIGHTING FOR OUR FUTURE AND EVERYTHING BUT FACK YALL LETS DITCH.’ I literally can’t remember anything about him in the season after he does that, besides like...Lady S healing him during the final battle? *slow clap* aaaay, you made it buddy. *blows raspberry*
My general feelings about him are pretty much summed up by the taunting Frenchman in Monty Python’s Holy Grail.
And I knnnooooow, he did it to protect Sooopphhiiie but there are damn better ways of doing that. Plus, trying to leave when everyone was fighting and dying for the Iron whatevermathing? Yeah solidified in my mind that maybe it wasn’t all done to protect Sophie and maybe he’s just a selfish prick.
So in the next drabble...well, someone’s going to wipe the floor with him. Actually, maybe multiple someones.
Bitch gonna learn some manners.

Ket’s Huntik/ST:Voyager AU, Pt 2: The Team
Of course this whole AU started out with the idea that Zhalia would be reclaimed from the ‘Organization,’ aka the Borg. The (glazed over) struggles that Seven goes through as she is forcibly transitioned from being like 80% Borg tech to human and her continuing search for her humanity and place on Voyager really struck me as similar to Zhalia’s story in a way.
Whenever I put it together in my head, Zhalia was part Nyxian (made up race of highly adaptable humanoid aliens) and part human. Everyone on the ship except Sophie and Lok know what she was before, and her remaining implants and tech (which Lok mistakes for cybernetics instead of assimilation remnants) make her stick out a bit, but she usually stays out of sight in the astro lab and in the Jeffries tubes. Dante drags her out of her cargo bay every morning and night to sit with him in the cafeteria, bribing her with flavored popsicles since she can’t actually eat anything.  He tries to get her to socialize but she practically refuses to talk to anyone but him and the EMH. Due to having 35% of her body still augmented with the Organization tech, much of the crew mistrusts her and is put off by her snark and dark humor, not realizing that her personality is a result of being in constant pain as her ‘human’ biology fights at stalemate war with her augmentations. She often has ‘relapses’ where her assimliation tech wins out for a few hours and new implants start to grow again. They have to be surgically removed, and due to the constant physical trauma she is forced to wear a black dermamesh suit (similar to Seven’s, but without the corset and Zhalia has the sense to wear some tactical team cargos over them. and no heels. boots all the way bro) that keeps her from acquiring massive full body infections. This doesn’t stop her from sneaking off on science away missions though, especially ones having to do with new tech. To combat some of her new awareness of the pesky emotion called ‘loneliness’ when the Captain is on duty, Zhalia programs a smart AI with a holographic projection of a Nyxian Nightcrawler (yes yes it’s just Gareon’s original form), and names it Gareon after the one she had as a child.
Dante reflected some of Janeway’s flaws and conflicts as well. He was a natural leader but found himself suddenly leading a group that he hadn’t exactly planned for. Not only that but he did occasionally question his choices and had internal struggles as he had to choose duty and his emotions, both for Zhalia and for his father figure Metz. He loves to get his hands dirty making new discoveries and interacting with new people, if in his own special way, and always is on the move. A long term mission in the unexplored Delta Quadrant would be right up his alley. Not to mention finding a lady who can match him in wit who needs a helping hand finding her own way to whatever home would take her. ;) Despite his role as captain and the importance of his survival to the crew while they’re so far from home, Dante’s known to take great personal risks, sometimes for the safety of the crew and those he cares about, and sometimes for straight up ‘I wonder what this would do if I hit it with a stick but if anyone asks i’ll just swipe my bangs away and say I totally knew what it was going to do.’ He gets to spend the night in medbay pretty often, but the next day he’s right back at the helm calmly directing them to the next planet as if he didn’t just play intergalactic baseball with an exploding alien fruit.
Lok is…well, he’s Lok. When he heard about the Delta Quadrant mission in his Cadet classes he realized it could be his only chance to follow his disappeared dad’s trail into the Delta Quadrant. Sophie caught him sneaking around the docks while she was saying goodbye to Lucas and co., who were also on the mission to look for other Casterwills (pretty much human looking aliens that develop extreme mental powers as they age and were scattered all over due to the Spiral genocide). He managed to keep her talking to him as he got on the ship, and by the time she realized what he had done, they were taking off and were already at warp. Dante, having heard about his father, takes him under his wing but immediately puts both of the Junior Cadets to work on the ship doing rotating duty shifts. This introduces him to the crew and it’s whispered in the Jeffries tubes that ‘Lambert’s boy’ is on board. He’s one of the few people to strike up a conversation with Zhalia, mistaking the exoskeleton tech on the back of her hands for cybernetics, similar to the ones his sister uses for a muscular disorder, and isn’t really bothered when he learns that she was actually Organization.
Sophie is, as mentioned before, one of the last known Casterwills. Her powers are just starting to come to light, but they’re already strong and she’s got the mind the use them for the good of the universe. Lucas is not happy that she’s managed to get on the ship, but she very quickly shows that she’s not afraid to step up and thrives, despite having to translate her book knowledge to real world experience. She’s pretty enamored with Dante, but he quickly puts that down and this unfortunately shifts her attention to the way Zhalia follows him around. She’s the one that, while helping in the medbay, sees Zhalia remove part of her dermamesh regeneration suit and identifies the exoskeleton fused to her spine as Organization and flips the fuck out to Dante and Lok about it. Zhalia ignores her until she breaks into astrometrics to try and ‘expose’ the woman as a saboteur, only to find that she’s been working on a way to find Casterwills through their particular brain waves that can be sensed while orbiting a planet. Zhalia admits to making the tech as a way to get Sophie to understand that she’s not trying to hurt anyone and is very protective of Dante, but never really got the hang of ‘the humanoid initiation of interaction and proper response protocols.’  Sophie realizes that no, Zhalia’s not there to kill everyone, just awkward as fuck and outcast like Sophie was at the academy, and loops the woman into Friday night social lessons every week after her medbay shifts.

Note
ღ for Zhante, Qrowin, NinaXLucas and DeLane (the ask thing) Sorry if I've sent one you might already have.
Well all but Nina/Lucas have been made here
Who’s the first to wake up in the morning: Lucas, he has been drilled to it as Casterwill, especially because he had to defend the library. Now that Dante is a king Nina does like to sleep in
Who’s the one to make breakfast: It changes but it’s more Nina
Who’s the one to serve the other breakfast in bed: Both
Who would suggest a quickie in the morning before work: hmm Nina is more likely, once she is comfortable with a person. She lives in a world where sex and sexuality are treated very liberally, like unless it’s pedophilia or incest basically people hurting each other for real and with no consent, everything goes in that world
Who suggests they both ditch work to lay around all day: None
Who chooses the movies: Nina, because she has seen more
Who initiates kissing during the moving, thus distracting the other from the movie all together: Nina is affectionate person and likes cuddles and kisses so she’d be the one
Who orders lunch: Nina
Who steals food from the other’s plate without asking:None
Who curls up next to the other and falls asleep due to a full tummy:None
Who distracts the other from trying to work at home: Nina, like she understands he has to so she normally leaves him but she somtimes would interupt
Who asks to go get ice cream like a five year old: Lucas is too mature and Nina hates icecream
Who takes pictures of their partner eating ice cream:
Who makes a sexual joke about the dripping ice cream on their partner’s face:
Who cooks dinner: Changes
Who cleans up the kitchen afterwards: Lucas
Who stays up until 2 reading: Nina
Who stares at their partner while their sleeping: Depends who falls asleep first. They both kind of tend to have nightmates, and Lucas has PTSD and night terrors so Nina sometimes stays up late to watch if he doesn’t do anything that can be potentially harmufl for him
Who kisses their partner while they sleep: Goodnight kisses? Both
