Another Link Crushes On You || Part 2/3
Part 1 ||
Pairings: Legend, Twilight, Wind x GN Reader
Overview: You've known Link for years - Well, a version of Link. Neither of you have seen yourselves as being anything more than friends, although it seems not all Link's think the same, in fact when you're introduced to the Chain, one of the boys falls pretty hard for you. I spun a wheel to let fate decide upon random pairs this time. Needless to say, I had a lot of fun with some of them😁
Zelda Masterlist 💚 Fandom Masterlist

Legend isn't a big fan of Skyloft which is something he decided rather quickly upon arrival - and no, it has nothing to do with the cold, thin air or hair-raising heights, although he’s also not a big fan of either. His problem lies solely on the cheerful atmosphere created by this village’s inhabitants. It’s all too easy going and mundane to fit an adventurer’s heart. Too familiar and painful, to boot.
The others may think of him as aloof and, quite frankly, Sky might be a little offended, but Legend has no interest in exploring these islands or making friends with the locals. Never again. Instead of joining any guided tours or trading stories with inquisitive knights, he sinks into his own isolation, finding a quiet place to sit amongst the shore of Skyloft’s only large water source.
All by his lonesome, he’s free to find a good boulder to hide behind and tear away at his hair in a desperate attempt at calming his unsteady anxiety…That is, until he hears a sound - No, not a sound, a voice. A beautiful voice that doesn’t speak, but rather hums a delicate melody he’s certain he’s heard before, probably from Sky who has a habit of mumbling certain songs to himself while plucking his harp.
…And there you are, blissfully unaware of anyone else's presence by the lake as you approach the water's edge. Dropping a laundry basket in the sand, you carefully roll up your pant legs and kick off your boots, prepared to step into the cold water until you suddenly halt.
As if having developed some sort of sixth sense, you glance over your shoulder, quickly spotting the pink haired boy peeking at you from beside a boulder. The sight understandably startles you, yet despite how awkward this situation might look without context - what, to catch a total stranger apparently 'spying' from afar - you give him a kind, that be it nervous smile. People in Skyloft truly are too trusting for their own good.
"Oh hello there! …So sorry, I don't think we’ve met yet."
Legend sighs, realizing it would be creepier if he were to just ignore you. With his place of solace now ruined, he stands and dusts the sand off his tunic, "...That's because I'm not from around here."
"Oh?" You tilt your head cutely, likely confused as to what he could possibly mean, after all, where else would he have come from if not Skyloft? Looking him over, you take notice of his outfit, “Are you a knight? I see you have the uniform of one.”
The angel on Legend's shoulder begs him to be honest, after all there's no reason not to be. Naturally, Sky seems to be pretty well known around Skyloft, so maybe you wouldn't be too surprised to learn your local hero has become ensnared in another adventure, bringing home a handful of other heroes. You might even find Legend more interesting if he were truthfully, awed by the rare chance to meet someone outside of your own timeline...yet staying true to his own bad habits, he decides to dig his own grave instead:
"...Yeah, I’m a knight. I'm just usually really busy, so that's probably why you haven't seen me around, you know,” He explains boldly.
You furrow your eyebrows while finally stepping into the water, taking a handful of clothing items with you, "...Huh...I still could've sworn I knew everyone here, what, with the island being so small and all."
Legend cringes. He can't tell if you're simply speaking on your confusion or slyly catching him in a lie, although the uncertainty isn't enough to deter him, "W-Well, I don't live 'here' exactly. I live on one of the...outer islands - And I spend a lot of time there instead of here which would make it easy to miss me."
You give him a strange look that feels as if it could burn right through him, however you fortunately turn away before his heart can ignite, "...May I ask your name?"
"My...name?" He blinks as if that’s the strangest question you could’ve asked.
"I just feel a bit rude for never having noticed you before, but if I were to learn a name to put to the face, I doubt I'll ever walk past you again without a smile," And oh, how deadly your smile is, flashed over your shoulder so innocently, yet those eyes - They hold mischief behind them.
"My name is Li - Ravio. That's my name," Another needless lie...
"Li Ravio?" You repeat, not looking very convinced, "That's certainly...a name, alright."
"W-Well, I didn't pick it!" Yes, yes he did...
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean any offense. It's a unique name, that's all, but that will make it easier to remember," You laugh at his misery, your eyes crinkling with the action. You then introduce yourself, your name sounding vaguely familiar, although Legend's in too much of a daze to think of why, "It's nice to meet you, Li Ravio."
He bites back a grumble, already regretting his life choices up until this point. Seriously, if he was going to give himself a cover name and story, couldn't he have picked something a little better? You probably think he's a weirdo, just showing up out of the blue with some half-assed backstory that sounds totally fake - Wait, what does he even care? It's not like he knows you! You're a random civilian from a timeline that comes generations before his own. If he wanted, he could march off and never see or think about you again...but does he want to?
Despite his previous desire for isolation, Legend remains standing there dumbly in the sand, entranced by the song you go back to humming while carefully scrubbing away at your laundry. You take no shame in your singing - which is good, because there's no reason to be. You sound nothing short of holy, and quite honestly, you match the look, practically glowing in the beams of sunlight. Even your movements are graceful, so much so that as you wade out of the water, you hardly disturb the water lilies around you.
"Where'd you learn to sing like that?" The question slips before Legend can help it, but there's no taking it back. You stop mid-step onto the sand, eyes quickly darting up to look at him in surprise. It's as if no one's ever been smart enough to give you that compliment before...or perhaps no one has ever sounded quite so astonished while saying it.
"My cousin and I sing every evening at the Lumpy Pumpkin," You explain, bashfully tucking a strand of hair behind your ear after dropping your laundry back into its basket and picking it up, "You should come by sometime. It’s on an island south east of here - Very cozy, and a great place to get to know new people, too.”
"I'll, um...think about it,” Legend answers awkwardly with a cough. Will they even be staying in Skyloft that long? How would he even get to another island, especially without anyone else following - Wait, why is he even considering this?!
You seem to have lost some of your cheer. Perhaps that wasn’t the exact answer you were hoping to hear, however Legend, once again, has no way of taking it back.
“...Well, I, um, should get going. These clothes won’t dry themselves,” You mumble, gesturing to the basket you keep against your hip. Without waiting for any goodbye, you make your way up the shoreline, only stopping temporarily to shout over your shoulder, “Oh, and Li Ravio? I should probably tell you that Link was looking for you earlier! He wanted to make sure all you boys knew not to get too close to any edges! It’s quite the fall!”
Legend doesn’t respond, too stunned to form words as you chuckle to yourself before skipping off on your merry way. So you were aware of his lies the entire time!

Faced with tired bones and a sinking sun that plummets the world into night, the Chain has no choice but to call it a day (not that they have any objections towards rest). They practically collapse where they stand, taking a few greedy minutes to catch their breaths before picking up the work once again.
Setting up bedrolls, sparking a fire, organizing supplies, and chopping vegetables, the heroes are kept active for a decent hour or two until they can take another breather. Gathered around a wonky circle, their conversation is light and mostly focused upon their hunger which is only fueled by the pleasant smell of soup until it can be dished out.
About half the boys have bowls in their hands before a sudden snap of a twig causes them to trade their meals for weapons, senses on heightened alert especially when a stranger soon steps out of the shadows. At such a distance, the fire's light only barely outlines their silhouette, but that’s apparently all it takes for someone in their group to realize this is no actual stranger who's stumbled across them.
Hyrule's face lights up as he exclaims your name. Your own reaction is quite similar, switching from caution to excitement within the same second that you remove the hood from your head. The way you both move to greet each other, holding the other's arms with bright smiles and disbelief is quick to calm the other heroes. If you're a friend of the wary traveler's, then you'll be a friend to them.
"I thought it was your voice I heard from the trail, but then again, I haven't heard you in ages! And to find you in such a large group of companions? Never before! Where have you been for all this time, old friend?" You seem to go through several emotions all at once - a steady flow from relief, confusion, sorrow, and joy. Hyrule is hardly any better.
"It's a long story, but I haven't exactly been around to be seen," When you give him a bewildered look, he’s quick to brush it off, "I'll tell you all about it some other time - Hey, why don't you join us for dinner? There's plenty to go around!”
Your eyes instantly widen as you wave your hands in front of yourself, your smile suddenly strained, "Oh, no - no thanks! That's a kind offer, really, but I, um, ate not too long ago -"
"- Pss! He's not the one who does the cooking here," Someone whispers. At that, your shoulders visibly relax.
"...Oh...Well, uh, now that I think about it, it was really more of a light snack earlier. I suppose I could stand to eat something more."
Hyrule beams at this, clearly happy to have someone he knows so well stick around even if only for a night. It's then that he finally introduces you to the group, explaining that you're a fellow traveler he often crossed paths with during his own adventures. Seeing how dangerous this time can be, you had a habit of sharing supplies, camps, and stories to feel less alone in the world, so it's no wonder that you'd be so relieved to see each other safe again.
"Mind if I sit by you, stranger?" You ask, peeking around at Twilight while Hyrule grabs you a bowl of soup. Despite your tired eyes and worn expression, you still manage a friendly smile that causes the rancher to nearly choke on his spoon.
With a cough and blush, he scoots to the side, probably making far more room than you actually need, "...Not one bit."
"Thanks!" Fortunately, you don't seem to think anything of his reaction as you gratefully take a seat nor do you take any notice of the way he steals another curious glance at you.
Seeing as you're a new face within the group, it's only natural that you become the center of attention. Questions are thrown your way left and right, many interested to know your story which you modestly tell with little fanfare. Apparently, you've been a traveler for the last few years, wandering from place to place while making a living off trading the resources you collect throughout your journey. Before then, though, you used to live at your family's ranch.
"You grew up on a ranch?" Twilight asks a bit too eagerly once the topic's mentioned, earning himself a lot of strange looks including one from yourself, although you at least seem more forgiving than his friends, quickly letting your confusion go with a gentle nod.
"I did - For most my life, actually," That's all you say before going back to stirring your soup which you're thankful not to find any bone fragments in.
"What made you move on from that life?" Perhaps it's an out-of-line question a gentleman shouldn't be asking, after all he's no more than a stranger to you, but learning a pretty thing such as yourself may have a similar background to himself makes him forget all manners.
"...It was destroyed by monsters some time back," You answer simply while taking a bite.
Twilight bows his head, shame burning inside, "...Oh. I'm real sorry to hear that."
Despite his fears of having caused offense, you merely shrug off any discomfort, “My family made it out alright and we make do with what we have now. Can't go complaining about that."
"...I'm from a farming village myself - From Ordon,” He goes on to tell in a quiet ramble, “I’ve worked there as a ranch hand practically all my life, overseeing the goats we’re famous for. It’s quaint, and about as far from the big towns as you can get, but homely. And the people there - Why, I don’t think you’ll find anyone more kind and welcoming. Like livin’ in one big family.”
Once again, this probably isn't something he should be saying. If it were him, he'd be beyond distraught to lose the ranch to the point that any reminders would send him spiraling, yet to his continued good fortune, you take his story for what it's meant to be, setting down your spoon with a comforted smile.
"I'd love to see that…" Orondian, how you enchant him with such a soft gaze, taking him hostage in the sea of your sparkling eyes. If Hyrule's tales are any indication for the horrors of this broken world, you must be a true diamond in the rough to be from a place so cruel. Any less personal control and Twilight wouldn't hesitate to ask you to join them - to come along on this adventure and see how beautiful life will someday be. He could take you to Ordon and show you all he’s come to adore - let you breathe the fresh air scented like hay and pine while overlooking the familiar green fields you’ve dearly missed. Who knows? Maybe you’d even ask to stay.
“I’d love to show you…”
"...Is this still a group conversation ooor?" Wild pipes in awkwardly from Twilight’s side, seeming to speak on everyone else’s discomfort as the poor, stricken young man loses himself to this yearning in his heart. This might be a long night and an even longer day tomorrow if they get stuck listening to him fawning over you...

You’re starting to doubt this shift will ever end…
It feels like you’ve been stuck in here for hours with nothing to do aside from sit at the counter and beg the sun to set just a little faster. You've already restocked inventory twice, organized stock to perfection, and swept the floor until your broom broke…If this keeps up, your sanity might just break, too.
Ringing from the front door’s bell gives you at least something to do as you sigh your typical greeting: "Welcome to Gia's General Store, where we have all your - LINK?!"
With a complete shift in mood, you happily leap up from your stool and race around the corner to meet your friend halfway in a tight embrace that you've both gone far too long without, "It's been ages! How have you been? Where have you been?"
Four chuckles at your eager questioning, "It hasn't been that long."
"Really? Because I swear five years have passed from this shift alone…" You groan dramatically before breaking away from the hug to get a solid look at him. Despite the months that have passed, he looks no different than when he had first set out. Good. You like him just the way he is anyway.
"Please tell me you're planning on sticking around for a bit. I’ve been dying for something interesting to happen around here and your stories are just the salvation I need! I only have an hour to go until I can close up, though I'm afraid I might stab myself with a fire arrow before then. It’s been terribly boring!”
That, Four doesn’t doubt. Your home village is as serene as they come which isn’t always a favorable trait in the judgement of two teenagers with more energy coursing through their bones than they know what to do with. Of course, he’s probably done no good helping matters by always filling your head with envious dreams of adventure and mystery.
“We’ll probably be spending the night in town,” He tells you, much to your relief, “In the meantime, we have quite the list of supplies that we need to restock on, if you don’t mind.”
"We?" Somehow you only just notice the group of young men who managed to sneak into the store after Four. A few of them are already looking around at the items you have to offer, while others wait patiently with the hope that they'll be introduced to...Well, whoever you are to their dear friend.
"I would introduce everyone, but we all share the same name."
"All of you?" You look at Four in shock, yet he nods as if it's the most normal thing in the world to him...Then again, it probably is at this rate. Honestly you shouldn't be that surprised yourself. This is Link you're talking to.
"...Huh...Well, feel free to have a look around, I guess, and let me know if you need anything in particular. Arrows are buy one get two free right now, and fully in stock, too, since Link - Er, this Link, hasn't been in town to buy us out,” You explain to the group, jutting a thumb towards Four who rolls his eyes.
Now, usually you become a bit overwhelmed whenever large groups enter your shop, but seeing as these guys are Four's friends, you feel comfortable letting them wander freely. It helps that they seem to know exactly what they're looking for, too, making your job all the easier.
For the most part, the group allows Four and you privacy to catch up, only interrupting your conversation occasionally whenever they have questions about your prices or the quality of your goods, however you aren’t blind to the curious glances they spare you even in silence. No doubt they’re wondering how deep your relationship with Four goes, finding it endearing how at peace the young hero has become in your simple presence.
Most of these glances are quick enough, although you can’t help noticing that one of the boys seems to lack the same subtlety as his friends. Each time you steal a peek through the corners of your eyes, you spot him staring in your direction with an awed look overtaking his face. Whenever someone else nudges him to ask a question, he blinks rapidly with a stammer before bashfully looking away.
‘Cute…’ You’re tempted to think, but then you take notice of how young the boy seems to be. He must be at least a few years younger than Four and you - still a just child, at least by your standards which is an upsetting thought since context clues point to him being a hero, too. If that’s true, that must mean he was as young as Four was when he first set out on all this hero business himself, if not even younger. Poor kid…
Soon enough, Four confirms your suspicions about his traveling companions’ identities, telling you all about the strange portals they’ve traveled through and the journey they’ve been on up until this point. It was mere hours ago that they found themselves this close to home and, well, he couldn’t bear to pass by without seeing you or his uncle.
“Smart. I would’ve been livid had I found out you were in the area and didn’t stop by,” You elbow Four who pushes you back with his shoulder playfully before suddenly glancing behind you. Following his attention, you find the youngest hero standing there shyly, a minish feather necklace in one hand and a small pouch of rupees in the other.
Wind startles, seeming to have not expected your turn, “I, uh, wanted to know how much this was - um, is…So that I can buy it, if I may - for my little sister!”
You notice Four hiding his smirk behind his hand, yet you elect to ignore him for now, instead giving the younger boy your full focus with a kind smile, “How sweet of you. Consider it on the house, kid.”
“R - Really?” He brightens with possibly the widest eyes you’ve ever seen.
“‘course. Think of it as payment for helping my friend here find his way home safely.”
“Wow, thank you miss!” Oh goddesses above, his smile is adorable! He reminds you of the village children who often come here seeking sweet treats, such a simple delight to create lasting joy in their hearts. How you wish you could return to those days yourself - to no longer bear the weight of the world and its troubles in your thoughts. Alas, you could never so skillfully rewind time, but at least you can help protect that same innocence in others, even if only for a moment.
And protect it you do. Even late into the evening, Wind still cherishes that necklace in hand, carefully inspecting its details while kicking his feet giddily in memory of you, the pretty shopkeeper from Four’s Hyrule.
Sure, it probably isn’t that big of a deal. You gave the entire Chain a rather generous discount on their supplies despite their protests, but he was the only one who received your kindness personally without having to share. No one else aside from Four had the joy of seeing your beautiful smile directed his way, your expression soft and comforting like a warm breeze on the summer’s beach.
He hadn’t lied. He does plan on giving the necklace to Aryll once this journey is over, but until then, he’ll probably admire it a little longer, at least until this crush of his settles within his heart.

Hi!!! It’s the speedrun anon that talked about Wild fighting Ganon with a pot lid and spoon :3
I am so happy you wrote a lil series on my idea!!! It really means a lot ❤️
I had another idea, because I’m crazy—in the Linked Universe comic, when Twilight gets hit by Dink and is basically dying, I was thinking about his wound and how they treated it…
Since it takes place in Medieval times, how clean was the actual wound before Hyrule started healing it?? A fun idea I had was: Ikesai!Reader using modern medicine to help treat Twilight (and the others as they traveled)
Pain meds, Neosporin, bandaids with fun patterns on them—maybe even a first aid kit if they knew they were going somewhere dangerous. Reader would treat small cuts and they’d heal quicker overtime without using magic. It saves a lot of time, energy, and money for the group; Hyrule doesn’t have to use his magic as much, potions aren’t wasted on smaller wounds, and none of they’re wounds are infected!!
I feel like the climax of reader using these methods would be Twilight’s injury; they ask Wars to go to the nearest bar and grab the strongest alcohol there, they ask Legend for a needle and some fishing line, and ask Hyrule to using magic to numb the pain of the wound.
Unwrapping Twilight’s bandages, with alcohol and needle in hand, Reader begins to sew up Twilight’s wound. It’s crude and disgusting, using only found objects and most likely mead to sterilize the needle and fishing line. Most would leave the room, but Hyrule would have to basically sit there and watch this random person sew up a wound like they were fixing a tear in fabric.
Once the wound is sewn up and cleaned, it looks a lot better than it did before. There is still the strange magic surrounding the cut but at least it’s closed up now. Reader’s hands are bloodly and smell like mead, but at least Twilight’s wound isn’t making him bleed out.
It healed quicker once Hyrule began to use healing magic on him again, the dark magic around the wound is in a more condensed area so it’s easier to dispel. The only problem…is that Reader has to take out the thread, and this time, Twilight’s awake.
—🌾 Anon (I’ve never named myself in anonymous I hope that’s okay :))
Yay! My first emoji anon :D Sorry this took so long! I got way too carried away learning about medieval medicine lol. I kind of skipped right to when Twi's injured because it was already 2k words long and an intro would have most likely doubled the word count askdfsl.
“Shit. Shit. Shit.” You chant it like a mantra. The entire way back to the village. The entire time it took to drag Twilight off Epona and up the stairs as Time arranges your lodging with the innkeeper.
“I’m fine. It’s just a scratch.” Twilight tells you for the fifth time. He still seems cross that he was benched from the fight, but his voice has much less bite behind it now.
You’re losing him.
“It is not ‘just a scratch,’ Link!” You scold. You can feel tears prick at the corner of your eyes. The use of his real name seems to bring him back a bit, but his eyes are still too unfocused for your liking.
Too much blood. He’s lost too much blood.
You remove one of your hands from his side, where you had been trying desperately to apply pressure to the wound. Your entire hand is soaked in blood.
“Press down here, okay.” You move Twilight’s hand to where yours had been, only taking your other hand off when you’re sure he’s properly applying pressure. “Don’t stop, okay? I’ll be right back.”
Before he can answer, you bolt out of the room and back down the stairs. You run headfirst into Time.
“Woah! Careful,” he says. He looks at your hands, covered in blood past the wrists, and winces. He holds up a pile of white cloth. “I got bandages from the innkeeper.”
“That’s not going to be enough.” You scrunch up your nose at the bandages. They looked clean, but you doubt they were properly sterilized. The one drawback to having fairies and potions magically heal everything is that these people had absolutely no idea how to treat a wound without them. “Go to the kitchen and get vinegar and honey. And see if the innkeeper has any silk thread. If not, try whatever craft store equivalent you guys have.”
Time can only watch as you take the bandages from his hands and rush back up the stairs. After a quick stop to wash your hands, you practically sprint back to the room.
Twilight is still conscious when you get back, thank Hylia, but he doesn’t turn his head to look at you when you come in.
“I’m back.” You tell him as you kneel next to the bed.
“Don’t sound so worried. It’s not like I’m going anywhere,” He smiles. “You were only gone for 30 seconds.”
“You were coughing up blood, Twi!” You peel his shirt away from the wound and quickly press some of the bandages Time had given you against the wound. It would have to do for now. “That means that the thing cracked your ribs and one of those ribs punctured your lungs.”
“I’m pretty sure the fairy took care of that.” He winces as you press even harder against the cut.
The blood won’t stop.
Before you can descend into hopelessness, the door bursts open. You jump at the noise, and turn to see Hyrule in the doorway, with Four close behind. They both look out of breath.
“So it’s true… it really is him.” Hyrule gasps. “I think I can help.”
“Fairy didn’t do anything.” You sigh, removing one of your hands to wipe the hair away from your face. The color drains from the two heroes' faces when they see the blood.
“I have a life spell.” Hyrule’s palms glow blue as he hovers them over Twilight’s body.
Nothing happens.
His brow furrows as he tries again. He thrusts his hands forward.
Nothing.
“No!” Hyrule cries. Twilight seems to have finally passed out from the blood loss.
“Crap,” you mutter. “Where the heck is Time with that thread and antiseptic.”
“Here.” The old man in question pushes past Four, who seems to be clinging to the doorway for support. He hands you a bottle of vinegar, a jar of honey, and a spool of silk thread with a needle stabbed into the side.
“Great, thanks.” You nod at him. “Rulie, keep that spell going if you can. The wound may not be healing but he had some internal injuries that I want to make sure won’t be an issue. The fairy stopped halfway through and I’m not about to do DIY surgery to remove shattered rib pieces from his lungs.”
Hyrule presses his lips together in a thin line and nods. His hands glow once more as he performs the life spell. You peel away the bandages you had been pressing against Twilight’s side.
“Sorry, buddy. This is going to sting,” you apologize, then pour the water from your canteen over the wound. The old blood washes away, only to be replaced rather quickly by more from the cut.
“What are you doing?” Time asks when you pick up the needle and thread.
“Stitches.” Is all you say as you hold the needle over the candle on the nightstand. Hopefully the heat will disinfect it somewhat.
“You're just going to… what, sew him back together like a torn shirt?” Four looks ready to puke as you begin sewing the wound. Time looks away, trying to ignore the faint sound of the needle sliding through bloody flesh. Hyrule can’t seem to look away, gaze locked on your hands.
“Magic isn’t working to close it,” you grimace. “This is how we close large wounds back home.”
“I know you said you didn’t have any magic where you lived, but this…” Hyrule swallows, hands still over Twilight as he casts the life spell.
“I think I’m going to be sick.” Four covers his mouth with one hand as you continue your work. “I’ll go see Epona is comfortable or something.” He rushes down the stairs so fast you’re surprised he doesn’t trip down them.
“Eh. Probably for the better. Too many people in here probably isn’t a good idea right now, anyway,” you cut the thread, satisfied with your stitches. They looked almost professional, with nice, even spacing. But you would have time to be proud later. Time to make sure infection didn’t get in there.
“How long will he be out for?” Time makes a point to look only at your face as he asks the question. Maybe he should leave, too. Watching you couldn’t be good for his health.
“Hard to tell. He’s lost a lot of blood,” you explain as you pour the vinegar into the honey and mix it together. “Do fairies and life spells fix blood loss?”
“I have… no idea,” Hyrule lowers his hands. He looks exhausted. He must have expended every last bit of energy casting that life spell for this long. “I don’t think I’ve ever seen a wound bleed this long.”
“Great,” you groan. Hopefully the magic could deal with the blood loss like it dealt with broken ribs and punctured lungs, because there was no way to tell anyone’s blood type here and you did NOT want to play roulette with a blood transfusion.
“What are you doing?” Time asks again. His voice is tense as you begin spreading the vinegar-honey mixture over Twilight’s wound. You have half a mind to kick him out of the room right there, but he’s technically the family of the patient. Still, if he was going to breathe down your neck the whole time you wouldn’t have much choice.
“It will keep out infections. The vinegar and honey are really good at keeping bacteria out,” you wipe your hands off on your pants, trying to get as much of the honey off your hands as possible before reaching for your canteen again. You wash your hands again, just to be safe, before reaching for the pile of remaining bandages.
“Bacteria? What’s that?” Hyrule asks.
“Very, very small organisms that can cause infections if they get into the wound,” you sigh. You don’t have the time to explain germ theory to them right now. You wrap the bandages around Twilight’s abdomen as tightly as possible. Vinegar-honey oozes from under the bandages, and even now, you can see the deep red of Twilight’s blood seeping through.
Crap. This was going to be a long night.
The next few days pass in a blur. Check the wound. Change the bandages. Try to measure Twilight’s heart rate with just your hand and a watch (his pulse seems okay. Hyrule’s spell must be dealing with the blood loss). Shoo people out of the room. Check the wound. Change the bandages. Try not to fall asleep.
When you’re not watching over Twilight, you’re taking care of an exhausted Hyrule. Using the spell so much for so long was taking a toll on him. He looked about as tired as you felt.
Still, Twilight was improving. Most of the color was back in his cheeks, and he kept waking up to say random depressing things before passing back out. Maybe that's why you finally let yourself drift off into sleep, sat on a stool and slumped over the side of the bed.
The feeling of someone rubbing your hair wakes you.
“Y/N?”
Your eyes snap open. Twilight is awake. He’s propped up against the headboard of the bed, his fingers threaded through your hair.
“Please tell me you slept while I was out,” he laughs, but his smile doesn't reach his eyes. He’s worried about you.
Hey! That was your job!
“You scared me half to death!” You sit up and punch his shoulder. Now that he’s finally awake, you have an earful and a half to give him. “What on earth were you thinking, sprinting towards that thing!?”
“Ow,” he chuckles.
“Don’t worry. The old man and the captain already chewed him out,” Wild snickers from somewhere behind you. Looking around, you see the entire chain scattered about the room.
“Good,” you flop your head back onto the mattress. Your eyes still ache from so many sleepless nights. “How long was I out?”
“Nearly half a day,” Legend snickers.
“Crap,” you groan. Twilight’s bandages should have been changed hours ago. “Did anyone change the bandages? Please tell me you washed your hands before. Oh, and did you apply the antiseptic?”
“Easy there, doc,” Warriors places a hand on your shoulder. “The wound has pretty much closed thanks to you and Hyrule.”
“WHAT?” You bolt upright again. “It should have taken at least a week, maybe two!”
“Magic finally started working on it while you were out,” Hyrule explains. Great. Just great.
“Then I need to take the stitches out,” you press your knuckles into your eyelids, trying to dispel your pounding headache.
“Stitches?” Wind asks.
“They sewed him back together like a garment,” Four grimaces.
“But then shouldn’t the stitches stay in and keep him… together?” Sky peers around your shoulder as you unwrap the bandages. He gags when he sees the cut, which was now just a long red line across Twilight’s stomach and lower chest. Wind tries to elbow his way to see as well, but Sky stops him.
You get up to wash your hands, and when you come back, Twilight is poking at the stitches.
“Don’t touch it!” You swat his hand away. “I didn’t make my own antiseptic for you just so you could infect the cut after it’s mostly healed!”
“You really did just… sew me closed,” he sounds shocked.
“Yep. Now hold still,” you carefully cut each stitch, removing the thread, small beads of blood forming where the stitches used to be. He winces at the feeling. Time watches closely, knuckles white as he grips the footboard of the bed.
“Woah. All that was inside his skin?” Wind stares dumbfoundedly at the pile of knots you removed. You nod, and keep working.
“There,” you sigh as the last bit of thread is removed. “Just keep the area clean and you should be good.”
“Do you do this every time people get hurt in your world?” Legend raises an eyebrow.
“No. Stitches are just for bigger cuts,” you explain.
There’s a moment of silence before Wind speaks up.
“Can I get stitches?” He asks excitedly. A chorus of nine voices responds.
“No!”
Notes:
Vinegar has antiseptic properties, while alcoholic drinks do not due to their low alcohol percentage. Honey, an ingredient found in mead, has some antiseptic properties, meaning mead also could be used to disinfect a wound, but a combination of honey and vinegar seems to be more effective.
Today, most stitches are made of synthetic fibers. Fishing line is also made of synthetic fibers, like nylon. However, in the medieval period, fishing line was most likely made of nettle-hemp. Today, fishing line would be a great material for stitches. However, I think silk, which is still occasionally used today, might be a better option (silk was also used to make fishing line, but it seems only after the industrial revolution got started).
Also, stitches don’t hurt coming out. I had stitches in my foot (a pretty sensitive area) as a kid. I also have an incredibly low pain tolerance and an intense fear of needles. You can kind of feel them pull, and if you’re squeamish you might freak yourself out, but it definitely doesn’t hurt. Although, I once heard of a doctor that didn’t undo the knots, thus pulling the entire thread of knots through the skin, which would absolutely hurt like hell, but that was because of his incompetence lol.
I made it so reader doesn't see the magic around the cut, as I think isekai and modern readers would have a harder time noticing it. We don't have magic, so we would probably not recognize it if we saw or felt it. It is still very much there.

You weren't quite sure what compelled you to visit the garage sale on the corner of 4th and Shirestone.
The lot was small and the yellow house inhabiting it was large, leaving very little space for the several tables of stuff in the miniscule front yard, meaning they spilled out onto the bordering sidewalk like an invasion of dusty books and even dustier boxes, which was probably what drew you to the sale in the first place.
"Do you have any Uncle Kracker?" You half-heartedly asked the old lady running the operation, idly thumbing through the CDs.
"Uncle who?" She raised a brow.
"Nevermind," you sighed, giving her a short once over before returning to your unenthusiastic perusal. You lived a few blocks away, tucked in the corner of a nearby cul-de-sac, but living alone was boring and your wallet had been crying to be drained after recovering from your car being in the shop for a few weeks. Besides, it wasn't like you couldn't drop a few dollars to pick up a half-decent CD for the radio, especially since people had a habit of dumping their unwanted shit on the side of the road.
With a huff, you flicked through the last row of CDs, all artists that you were either too old or too young to like. Sure, the Pat Benatar one was calling your name, but you already had a few of her songs on other CDs.
Just as you were about to go home and watch a couple hundred reruns of Family Feud while eating enough ice cream to make your doctor cringe, your eye caught another table, this one filled with an assortment of video games. You weren't the biggest gamer, but you had enough of a collection to put any normal ten-year-old to shame.
"You've got games?" You asked, moving past the one-armed mannequin to assess the selection.
"Do I ever," the old woman shook her head, sending a few snow-swept whisps of hair flying from the confines of her satin headband. "They belonged to my son, but the little rat couldn't keep it that way when he moved out."
You managed a sympathetic chuckle, pulling your coat a bit tighter around yourself. There was a chill in the air, despite it being sunny outside. Your fingers felt a bit numb as you flicked through the cases. Final Fantasy, Digimon, Mario Kart...
You paused as your gaze passed over a very familiar title.
"Woah, Twilight Princess?" You lifted the case, marveling at the find. It was a bit dusty, and the cover art looked like it had seen better, less faded days, but it was nonetheless a great discovery. You had always wanted to play it until school got in the way, but now...
"Oh, yeah," the old woman leaned in a bit too close for comfort, tapping a knobby finger on the plastic. You could smell her flowery perfume and the lingering scent of coffee grounds as she spoke. "This was one of my son's favorites... too bad he could never get it to cooperate."
"How so?" You asked, taking a step to the right to create a bit of distance.
She shrugged. "It worked great at first, but the controls were always a bit glitchy for his tastes. He said it was like something else was trying to take control," her tone turned conspiratorial, faded blue eyes glinting in the sunlight. "but I think he was just making excuses to get a new controller for Christmas."
This time, you laughed loudly. "Yeah, they'll do that," you glanced at the game and back at her. "How much? I've got a ten in my wallet, but I can get more if needed."
The old woman waved a hand, dismissing your words with a smile. "That won't be necessary, I should be paying you for taking this junk off my hands. Take it for free."
You opened your mouth to protest, but she sent you a stern glare and you didn't have the courage to square up with someone who didn't have any personal space awareness and looked like she could break your back over her knee. 'Thank you," you ducked your head respectfully, slipping the game into your bag and beginning the trek home. The sun was beginning to set, and you didn't want to get caught in the dark. You waved, calling over your shoulder: "Have a nice day. Stay warm!"
The woman waved back. "You too, dear! Don't let the bedbugs bite!"
You chuckled, boots crunching on the pavement as you set an easy pace, one hand slipping into your bag to feel over the faded plastic surface of your new game.

If there was any truth to the old lady's words about the game being glitchy, it didn't show.
After booting your ancient Wii-U up, you plugged the game in without hesitation, grinning when it started up with nary a twitch. The title screen looked exactly as it should have, a very familiar song emanating from your dusty speakers. It was perfect, and you almost felt bad taking it for free.
Until you tried to select 'new game' and the screen stalled, fizzling back to the menu as if you hadn't done anything at all. "What the hell?" you muttered, attempting the action once more, only to be booted back to the title screen for the second time. "Oh my god, are you serious?"
You weren't really mad, because your expectations hadn't been that high, but you hadn't expected problems before you even began playing. The 'start' button glimmered promisingly, and you reluctantly selected it.
The screen flashed, and the game started. You gaped, nearly dropping the controller in surprise. "Oh, hell yeah," you grinned, mood lifting slightly at the progress. You had already seen several gameplays, so starting later didn't bother you as much as it should have. "Now we're talking."

Link was distinctly aware of the moment his world inexplicably shifted, falling into the soft hands of another. It was as if they were meant to hold his life in their palms, smooth fingertips caressing the edges of his pixelated consciousness, shrouded by colors and numbers and a thin sheen of fantastical insanity.
There was a voice, lighter than the one of his previous guide: the gamer without sense. Link was forgiving, it was practically in his nature, but he could only take so many instances of the kind of crass, harsh language that man had employed, especially when he addressed the dreaded "chat"--whatever evil that was.
"Let's get classic," the voice spoke, tone heavy with excitement, and the world reformed before his very eyes, swirling with the familiar colors and textures that he remembered, though they seemed... brighter, somehow. It was a new start, Link realized. A new play at the game. A new life to destroy. To shape.
Ordon Spring was exactly as he remembered; a clear, rippling pool, fed by the gentle waterfall in the back of the spring, flanked by thick, verdant brush and preceded by a wonderful, sandy bank. Home, he thought.
"I hope the old lady wasn't right," said the voice, sounding a bit mournful as it caressed the tip of his pointed ear. "I'd hate to have to get rid of you... I've been looking for you for ages."
Link felt his body stiffen, the belts crisscrossing his chest feeling more suffocating that normal. You must have heard about his 'resistance' towards the previous owner, who quite deserved it after attempting to make him toss the village dogs off of various high places and herd the children into frankly dangerous areas. Hylia, he hoped you weren't like that. He didn't think he could handle that again.
"Alright, let's go save a princess," your cheer hung heavy in his mind, and Link allowed himself a small, pixelated smile.
He could work with this.

Dear lord I'm so glad this is finally out! It fought me tooth and nail, but I hope it's still up to standard <33

Your Link Comes Home Clingy (Chain x GN!Reader)

you arent in the chain, and it wont be described whether or not the links have met one another or yet! very open, just your preferred link coming home to you being clingy! there's some angst in some (cough wild cough) but nothing too bad!
all variations of the reader are around the same age as the link, excluding Wind!
general thing, all characters are minimum 18 yo and are all in established relationships (besides wind, who's like 14 and therefore has a platonic relationship w/reader)
hope you enjoy!
for the sake of ease of this, no separations for red, vio, green, or blue sorry yall
four is exhausted when he finally gets home
hes been working all day, and then there were some errands he had to run, and..
ugh. hes exhausted
so, when he finds you all curled up in bed? oh he has NEVER been so tempted to just curl up in your arms and beg you to hold him
he knows by now he doesnt need to ask to be held but man
four manages to refrain, though, and drags himself to bathe first and throw on some loose nightclothes
as soon as he's clean though?
oh this guy is just collapsing on top of you and the bed
it disturbs you and your sleep, but thankfully by this point youre definitely used to him being this tired
he'd had an unusually busy day though, so unlike normal when hed roll over and the two of you would just loosely cuddle, four latches onto you, face buried against your neck
it wakes you up properly, and so you peak your eyes open
you aren't opposed to cuddling your boyfriend, obviously, so you wrap your arms around him and just hold him, content to go back to sleep
four is, also, very happy with this. he relaxes and melts against you slowly, a soft sigh escaping him before he slowly drifts off to sleep
hyrule's had a wonderful day, surprisingly
hes managed to avoid SO many monster run ins, found some new plants, and is entirely unharmed!
and you know what makes it even better? coming back to his and your little makeshift home to see you cooking
he loves, loves, loves when you cook
are you good at it? bad at it? doesn't matter. hyrule LOVES your food because he loves you, and thats just how it is, he doesnt make the rules
he's smiley, and giggly, and he wraps his arms around you as best he can while tripping over himself
thankfully youre not in any danger of getting hurt as he knocks the two of you to the ground
you laugh and it's his second favorite thing in the world, second only to your kisses
he's thrilled as you guys shift so that he's straddling your waist, cupping your face, calling you petnames, and kissing your face
it makes you laugh more, which makes him kiss you more, and it just repeats the process
eventually you get him off of you and go back to cooking, but he hangs off of you in one way or another as you cook
if youre the type to get annoyed by things like that when youre cooking, he'll just shift forms and lay on your head until youre done
as you guys eat, he's pressed against your side and bouncing with energy
hes just in a GREAT mood and you get to see the full brunt of it
if whatever you made is sweet, bet on him getting even clingier
he doesnt do clingy
he DOESNT
except he hasnt seen you in a long while, and hes missed you so much
what else was he meant to do?? not tug you into a hug as soon as you got inside the door?
he'd gotten home earlier himself, and had been rather bummed to see you not home as well
what do you MEAN you had errands to run??? he doesn't believe it
still, he doesn't complain
he just hugs you and rocks back and forth.
he's sore, and tired, and he'd really like to lay down with you. maybe take a nice, warm bath, properly relax for the first time in who knows how long
but he feels like he's been a bit starved lately, and he doesn't want to part from you
especially once your own arms are around him and squeezing gently, a kiss pressed to the side of his head pairing well with a soft welcome home
he kind of wants to melt against you, but he knows that'll make his soreness worse, so he gives a vague noise of agreement and squeezes you back
for now, he's content with this. cuddling and getting cleaned up can come later
unlike legend, i get the feeling hes normally clingy, so this doesnt really make too big a difference
he's just been working all day, and when he gets home he does his normal little routine with you
kisses, head to set a bath up, more kisses, getting undressed, more little kisses, bathing quickly, kisses, getting dressed... kisses
he's a bit smitten
its when you guys are in bed that his clinginess is apparent
normally he'd just loosely throw an arm over you, half asleep the second you two are laid down
when he's feeling needy and extra affectionate, though?
his arms are wrapped tightly around you, and it's kind of a gamble on if he lays on you or if he has you lay on him
either way, he doesn't fall asleep. he just lays there with you, and he'd probably ask you to play with his hair
idk he seems like the type to like his hair played with, so if he's laying on you, you do
if youre laying on him, he wont ask you to play with his hair.
instead he'll just kiss your head a lot
he will, eventually, fall asleep like that
when he's genuinely feeling clingy, it'll bleed into the next day in little ways.
you have things to do? well, suddenly he doesn't and he's trailing around after you all day like a lost puppy
He has things to do? ....nooooooo
the two of you probably live relatively close to lon lon ranch
he helps out there, you're a baker for commission, and so at the end of the day your link tends to come home gross and exhausted
there has been many, many times you've come home to see him passed out on the couch without having bathed or anything
either way, today had been decidedly worse than usual. everything seemed to go wrong, and he really really just wanted to lay down and hide his face against you
so he gets inside your home, kicks his boots off, sheds his outer layers haphazardly (you'd get on him for that later, he knows, but he doesn't care right now, he needs to just have you in his arms, please)
the sun's low in the sky, and he knows damn well where you are
so he goes into the kitchen, wraps his arms around you, and buries his head in your neck.
your movements stutter, before you hum, melting back against him, and oh how wonderful that is.
he lets you work, arms around you and moving as needed, until you elbow him gently and tell him dinner's done
you end up turned around in his arms, pretty much spoon feeding him, and then (after you've eaten as well, Time's not going to let you go hungry) time takes you to bed
he lays on top of you, and this was something he'd taken a while to become okay with, and plants his face firmly in the crook of your neck
you wrap your arms around him, holding him, and everything feels okay
he has been working ALL day
he gets home, grunts as he takes his shoes off, and then goes to clean up
it's not late in the day, admittedly. sun's hardly setting
the second he sees you, his arms are wrapped around you and he's half melted against you
you two sway from side to side for a while, quietly holding one another
while his sudden hug throws you off, you arent opposed and stay there with him
it takes you two a while to stumble towards the bed and get laid down
you can TRY to extract yourself, but he will pull out every trick in the book to prevent that from happening
if you manage to get away, suddenly there's a wolf tugging you back by your shirt, or curled around your legs as you work, whining pitifully
if you give in to the puppy eyes, you're his captive
if you don't he gives you the silent treatment (very ineffective when he's wrapped around you, and in your arms, and clinging to you, and-)
training new recruits pisses him off sometimes
he cannot believe he was once like THAT
either way, within the span of five minutes of being home and stripped down to more comfortable clothing, his arms are under the hem of your shirt, wrapped around you
his head's buried in your neck, and it takes him a moment before he melts against your back
he definitely stands there as you do whatever it is you're doing yapping about how much he missed you
he's done for when you turn around and wrap your arms around him as well
if his day went even slightly worse, he tears up and his face is promptly hidden against you in some way
you two end up showering together, because he does NOT want to leave your side, and then you two curled up in bed together
when he gets like this he prefers to hold you. if you REALLY want to be the one holding him instead, though, well.. he's always been a bit weak to your wants
its always after a nightmare about his memories, or when he gets a new one back
he's always kind of off a little bit when they happen, and he's learned over time that your presence helps
of course, it doesn't help that he's coming home late tonight, tired and worn out already
and you're playing with this blonde little girl - the daughter of a friend of yours. you're bbysitting, he assumes
but the sight of the girl makes his head hurt and vision foggy in a way he knows means there's a memory imminent
so he sits down, heels of his hands pressed to his eyes. he doesn't even process when you move around, the little girl put to bed in a guest room
suddenly he's back, leaning against you and hiccuping through his sobs
he tells you about his little sister, how wonderful she was, how much of a menace she was (theres so much he wants to know about her but he cant remember it yet, and he doesn't know if he ever will and-)
it takes you a while to get him to your guys' room, but you manage and get laid down with him laying on top of you
he falls asleep to your heartbeat and dreams of a little girl who loved the harmonica
he's been away from outset with the chain for SO long, and he hasn't seen you in even longer
he misses you so much it isn't even funny anymore.
and it doesnt help that he keeps panicking when he thinks of you
he knows youre older than him, that you can take care of yourself (and aryll) just fine, but he's still worried something might happen to you and the rest of his family while he isn't there
it's silly, and it's stupid. even when he was in his own Hyrule, after his adventure, he was hardly home anymore, preferring to sail with tetra and the crew
still, the second he realizes that they're in his hyrule, and on outset island, he absolutely books it home
and there you are! sitting with aryll and playing a game with her, and you both look fine
and you both light up when you guys see him, and he can't help but tear up
it isn't long before the rest of the chain stumbles along after wind and finds wind attached to you, face pressed to your side, and aryll on your hip
he doesn't even let you out of his sight for the first day theyre all there
(he is like this EVERY time they all make it to his hyrule. he misses his little family, sue him!!)
Yall tell me why this took me FOUR DAYS to write out??

A/N: Cause I'm in a soft, gooey mood. I'm thinkin of the Links being married.
~~ Imagining Wild smiling so softly down at a letter, looking so love-strucked yet yearning at the same time. Of course, one of the boys called out to him in a teasing way, wanting to know what got him all head in the clouds like their fellow skyloftian knight. He huffs softly and replies with a voice filled with longing, "My spouse wrote me a letter, basically wishing me safety and sweet dreams of them to soothe me."
~~ First normally kept to himself about his s/o, wishing to keep them safe during his time in prison for 4 years. Pushing you away from Demise's grasp with one last kiss, as he headed off to fight hard and long til his last dying breath. Only to reawaken in a coffin, tumbling out and wondering where he was.
His first thought after was wonder of if you were alive and kicking. He rubbed his left ring finger in a panic, sighing in relief when the metal met his skin. The impression of your bright, sweet smile soothed him, made his heart beat fast until the sound of a screech reached his ears.
~~ The look on the chain's face when a body slammed into Legend was hysterical yet made him shy under their wide questioning gazes. He wanted to squirm out of your hold, only to halt when those eyes, filled with tears of relief and love made him melt on the spot. He softly sighed and rubbed their head while exchanging gentle words between them.
The ring on your hand made them choke in surprise; so those rings on his hands are for distractions, huh?
~~ Hyrule kept his ring on a necklace under his tunic, away from sight due to conflict. His head was always threaten to be on a pike, didn't help when he carried all three pieces of the triforce on the back of his hand. He was constantly hunted, he worried they would come to find you if they were to ever find out he was married to you. Yet alas, he would be found by Legend with him sitting there, idly messing with the ring around his neck, a far off look on his face and a gentle smile. Of course, the veteran was going to be curious of whom caught the dear traveler's heart.
~~ Four watched you idle around the living room, gesturing a flick of your wrist to who could lay where without the worry of stepping on somebody. He stares with his chin in his hand, smiling softly as you jabbered on about something to one of the Links. The colors laughed when you bickered and bantered with that Link before silencing at the sweet smile you quickly flashed over to him alongside a wink.
He covered his face with his hand, flushing red at the laugh that echoed in the home.
~~ Once again, he had his head in the clouds with a dreamy smile on his lips. Sky clutched the letter close to his chest and heaved a tranquil breath, his ears flapped wildly, almost imaginary hearts fluttered and popped around his head. Some of those groan, while the other laughed and shook their head at the lovesick expression on the skyloftian's face.
He raised the letter above his face, pressing a gentle kiss against the ink on the bottom of the page then one to the ring gracing his finger.
"I'll be home as soon as I can, my love."
~~ He was so giddy to be home. As one could be, he was always the composed and conscientiousness captain, but when given the opportunity to reunite with his love. Warriors is practically floating down the path to his shared home that the group is struggling to keep up with his rampant pace. He can't help himself! He needs to smooch his spouse! It's a crime to him to be away for this long from them.
The look on their face when he entered the house with a flourish yell of their name, made his heart soar.
~~ Time chuckled when you fussed over Twilight, tucking him in before glaring at the male when he tried to protest. His descendant looked at him with a silent plead for help, only to slump when the old man shook his head and made an 'x' symbol with his arms. He knew that butting in would not protect him from your glare too.
He rather walk straight into a pit of lava than face your glare head-on. Though he melts at the passing thought of you tucking your future child in, sternly telling them its bedtime and that rest is important. He makes his way over, pressing himself against your back, lacing his hand with yours and placed a kiss against your forehead.
~~ He was already suckered from the day you first played together when you were both children. From the shy glances to the shared giggles, to the sleepovers and to the shared secrets. Twilight knew he had to have you as his spouse when you jumped into his arms and kissed him without a thought after he saved Hyrule.
Even as he stared up at the night sky during his watch, he could still remember the sight of you walking down the aisle with a shy yet giddy smile on your lips. He rubbed the ring back and forth as the memories took over his mind, making the time go by fast til he was tapped out by the next watch. He falls asleep easily when his head hit his pillow, with a faint smile on his lips.
~~ He felt smug when the chain jaws dropped at the sight of him running towards his spouse yet ignores them as their squeals and giggles graced his ears. Fierce swung them around softly in the air before slowly lowering them in his embrace, holding them by their waist, closing his eyes and pressing his forehead against theirs. He purrs at the hands that cupped his face, sweet yet butterfly like kisses gracing his skin that soothe the ache that grew in yearning for their touch.
He felt them move away the white strands away from his forehead, placing a kiss against the blue 'v' shaped mark there. He retaliates by placing one against the ring on their finger before opening his eyes to them. Feeling himself melting in their ever so loving and gentle gaze, "You still look radiant, my dear jewel."

Yandere Feral Twilight—it's just his instincts, okay?
ּ ֶָ֢. It wasn't until after his adventure that he began to lose his sanity. The loss was gradual. No one noticed until it was too late. After all, no being from the light world should ever cross into the Twili realm.
It has this habit of sentience. Twilight could always feel himself being watched. It wasn't just Midna or any of Zant's minions. It was this territorial force that was angered anytime someone from above came into its land.
Even after defeating Ganondorf, the essence of that anger still lingered. It was calmer but seemed more possessive. It began to want to possess a part of Twilight: his mind.
So after the mirror was shattered, that was a part of him he was never going to get back.
That's where you came in. Just an adventurer from another timeline.
ּ ֶָ֢. He meets you, and it's an instant attachment. Something about you appeases the broken, primal part of him. Wolfie needed to come out and play. All he wants to do is stay near you and listen. Even without his tail on him, you can practically hear the elated wagging of it.
That sealed your fate.
ּ ֶָ֢. He travels with you all throughout different versions of Hyrule. He helps you collect various weapons and treasures. He surprises you with gifts. He is just absolutely addicted to your face lighting up. He is able to smell the happy hormones wafting off of you.
That line within his mind between proper and animalistic grows thinner every day that you travel with him.
ּ ֶָ֢. When stumbling upon the other Links, he is immediately agitated. He is not willing to share your attention or love with any other version of himself. He's standoffish with the others when it comes to matters that concern you. He's quick to become riled up and then dismissive. Some of the others, especially Wind and Legend, enjoy teasing him about his 'little' crush on you.
In the earliest stages of meeting other Links, no one realizes how twisted Twilight's obsession is. He doesn't realize it either. It's just this nagging sensation in the back of his head that tells him he needs to keep you around. It's a variation of the same sensation he felt in the Twili realm.
ּ ֶָ֢. As the months go by, Time recognizes that there is something unhealthy about Twilight's relationship with you. Twilight refuses to leave you alone with another Link. The farmer always rooms with you. Twilight is the only one that helps you take care of chores. No one else is allowed to.
You end up with bruises that he suspects are from Twilight. You brush the worries off as Twilight just being playful. You assure Time that it is nothing serious. Time is still incredibly concerned.
"If Twilight does anything you don't consent to, tell me. Understand?"
Time is a safe place for you. Twilight sees that as a threat.
ּ ֶָ֢. In the dead of night, he ushers you away from The Chain. He tells you that there is something he must show you. You trust him, obviously. You follow him, and suddenly you are pinned under him. It's the first time you feel fear being around him. Your fear because of him is arousing. He doesn't do anything violent. He simply wraps his arms around you and nuzzles into your body.
"Twilight. Twilight?"
He didn't respond. He would simply have a pleased growl escape his throat.
ּ ֶָ֢. The night turned into the day, and suddenly you weren't anywhere near the other Links. You were in the forest with Twilight, and now you're back at his farm. He kept you there. He only allowed you into the village. You are not allowed to go farther than that.
He marks you up and is barely able to form words. He nestles into you any time either of you has nothing to do.
It's strange and a bit unconventional at times. You have thought about running away. You have spent your entire life adventuring, and suddenly you were kidnapped by your closest traveling companion.
You are too afraid to try to escape. You are convinced that Twilight would be able to find you anywhere in the multitude of lines that thread together the intricacies of time.
ּ ֶָ֢. That line no longer exists in his mind. He will always keep you with him. His tongue may not work, but his desires do. He listens to your protests and never crosses that line, even if he has to take care of himself in the privacy of the back of the barn.
You didn't need to know what he did for you. You only know that the rest of The Chain won't be coming to save you.

the chain reacts to reader dancing belly dance like Shakira
that's all
aIt would be a good way to earn some rupees now that I think about it
Oh yes, that was so much fun to write! some were a little platonic, others not so much, Wind's completely, of course. Thank you for the request, I hope you like it!
The Chain needs money. That’s the problem we’re currently dealing with, and everyone thought of something they could do to make up for our lack of rupees. Some offered to search for rupees in the grass, easy but time-consuming. Others thought of offering their services in the village near where we were. The lack of money is so worrying that we can’t even pay for the inn, so we’re camping nearby.
I wanted to help too, of course, but when I tried to say something, they didn’t listen, saying that I didn’t need to worry, that they would deal with it. While everyone dispersed through the village, leaving me to “explore”, I decided that I would go against what I was told and get the money myself. Stubborn? A little.
In the end, there wasn’t much I could do anyway, I would get bored quickly. Rummaging through my things, I found the perfect object to use, which would allow me to at least try to get some rupees, while I could still have fun. I found a place where I could change into a belly dancing outfit that would also help to attract the attention of others.
While looking for a place to perform in the center of the village, I came across a man who was doing something similar to what I wanted to do, but with music. Taking advantage of this opportunity, I asked him if I could perform alongside him, using his music to dance to, which he agreed to.
Soon I was performing a belly dance, the sound of the coins on my waist synchronized with the music being played, and my surroundings began to fill with curious people, some of whom gladly helped by leaving a few rupees. Everything was going well, until I saw a familiar blonde approaching.
Four
The shorter man approached where I was performing, squeezing through the crowd with great difficulty. Finally, when he could see me clearly, his eyes widened in surprise.
I thought about stopping to explain myself, it was a bit embarrassing, but I was already very focused on this whole thing, and in the end, it was working. He moved closer to me, until he was right next to me, so I could hear him more clearly.
— What are you doing? What’s all this for? – He asked, so that only I could hear.
— I’m getting rupees! I had to do something to help with this, so I’m using one of my skills. – He opened his mouth, but nothing came out, his cheeks taking on a pink hue as he looked away.
— That’s... pretty clever, actually. But you don’t have to put yourself out there just for the money!
— It’s okay, I like it! And it’s been a while since I’ve been able to do something like this, so I’m having a great time.
He looked at me for a moment, looking almost indignant, but then he smiled and sighed.
— Okay, but I’ll stick around then, to make sure everything’s okay.
Hyrule
The boy walked through the crowd, confused about what all the fuss was about, until his eyes landed on me. The poor guy turned so red he looked like a tomato, he stood there, motionless, staring at me while I was still dancing. He stayed like that long enough to worry me, if he hadn’t reacted soon, I would have had to stop the dance to check on him.
He blinked rapidly, coming out of his trance, then approached me shyly, embarrassed by the attention he gained from the others for doing so. He used such a low voice that I had difficulty understanding.
— Hey, why are you doing this? Not that you don’t look amazing! You’re very pretty, I mean, you’re very talented, but why do this now?
The poor guy looked totally nervous. I imagine that in his era it wasn’t common to see women with such “vulgar” clothes, especially dancing in such a different way in front of several strangers. Or maybe that was only done by a certain type of women.
— Oh, I’ve managed to get us some rupees! Don’t worry, this is just an artistic performance.
That seemed to calm him down a bit, still without reaction, he went to a more secluded corner, where he could stay and wait for me to finish, so that I wouldn’t be alone.
Legend
— What the hell is this?
The blond man complained, not caring about the attention that was turned to him, he looked at me with a sullen face, judging me to the core, with his arms crossed, waiting for an answer.
— A belly dance performance. – That was all I replied.
— And for what? Are you trying to get the attention of the entire kingdom?
— No. I’m trying to make some money.
— Hasn’t it been made clear that you don’t have to do anything?
— But I wanted to, it’s fun, I was bored and wanted to help.
He snorted, but didn’t respond again, contrary to my logic. I thought he would leave in a huff, but to my surprise, the hero just stood there, watching me as I continued to dance. Well, I guess it’s okay to tease him a little more.
— Are you enjoying the view? – I said, with a mischievous smile on my lips.
— I am.
He said, making me gasp in surprise and even making me lose focus and stop for a moment, while I processed his answer, which made him laugh.
Sky
The hero of the skies emerged from the crowd, his eyes wandering until they stopped on me. He was visibly confused as to what I was doing, tilting his head to the side in doubt, until he approached and asked.
— What are you doing? – His tone was not judgmental, just curious and somewhat enchanted by the movements my body was making.
— It’s belly dancing, I’m performing to try to earn some rupees.
— Sounds fun! Can I stay and watch? – He asked, seeming excited about it.
— Sure, I’d love to have you here! – I replied smiling, his support made me want to continue even more, the activity that was already fun in itself became even better, because now my dear friend was there, praising and having fun with me. That thought made me blush, something I hope Sky doesn’t notice.
Time
One felt butterflies in my stomach when I saw the tall man there, in the middle of all those people, watching me while I danced without any shame. I automatically thought I would get a scolding for doing this when I was explicitly told that I shouldn’t. However, it had been more of a suggestion than an order per se.
The man in armor remained there, standing, watching me with a serious face while I continued dancing, trying my best not to lose focus with his gaze and end up making a mistake in some movement, which didn’t work out as well as I had hoped.
I considered the idea of stopping and getting out of there as quickly as possible, dragging the Old Man with me to avoid confusion, maybe that was what he wanted. Before I could finish this line of thought, I heard a muffled laugh coming from him, which caught my attention.
Time smiled at me suggestively, as if laughing at my nervousness, knowing very well that he was to blame for it. He then just walked over, bent down, leaving a few rupees in the small box I used for that, and left, without saying anything, leaving me more confused than before.
Twilight
I could see, out of the corner of my eye, the Rancher looking at me among the others, his gaze fixed on me, but he didn’t seem surprised or bothered, just interested in the dance.
Without worrying too much about it, I continued with my movements, following the beat of the music, moving my hips fluidly just as I had learned. But a part of me couldn’t help but ignore the presence of the blond right there, watching me like a predator watches its prey, which started to distract me more than I would have liked.
Twi approached, smiling sideways, getting closer and closer, until his lips were close to my ear and he could whisper something for only I to hear.
— It really is a mesmerizing dance, I would love to see it more often, in a more private way, though.
He spoke, sending shivers down my spine, and then walked away, leaving me standing there, frozen. I stopped the dance, too shocked to concentrate on it, as I watched him walk away from the place as if it were nothing.
Warriors
Shortly after seeing the Captain’s neatly styled blond hair, I could hear whistles and cheers coming from the crowd, with the voice easily unidentifiable as his. He continued to compliment me and act like I was some kind of celebrity, while giving me suggestive looks and laughing.
I just rolled my eyes, holding back my laughter as he continued to do his provocative antics, drawing even more attention to himself, leaving those around him not very happy with him.
Wars kept up this repetitive and annoying way, motivated to get my attention, but it was fun to watch him try, so I just let him continue while I danced.
It wasn’t long before the others started to get annoyed with the blond, telling him to be quiet, which didn’t do much good, so soon he was being kicked out of there, which he couldn’t help but get a good laugh out of me. He whispered things like “you’re killing it!” as he walked further away being pushed away by some men, which made me just shake my head, rolling my eyes with a smile, and continue dancing.
Wild
The Champion’s long golden hair came into my field of vision, drawing my attention to him, who seemed fascinated by my movements. He smiled, excited to see me dancing, and seemed to have quickly understood why I was doing this.
He applauded along with the crowd, when a song ended and I stopped dancing to catch my breath, then he approached me, with difficulty as other people did the same to leave their rupees.
— That was amazing, I didn’t know I could dance so well, that sounds hard.
— Yeah, a little bit, but once you learn it feels natural.
— Okay, you have to teach me how to do that later. I’d rock it in a gerudo outfit, and I’d make money on top of that. Oh, we could even dance together! – He suggested, excited about the idea, making me laugh.
— Sure, I wouldn’t mind having company. If you want to stay and watch, I’ll do it for a while longer.
He nodded excitedly, very interested in the dance itself and how majestic I looked while I was doing it.
Wind
The boy looked at me with a sparkle in his eyes as I danced, making me laugh. He approached me without caring about the others who were watching, very motivated to know more about the dance itself.
— Wow, that’s so cool! Can you teach me? Can I dance with you? What’s that called? – The blond asked me a lot of questions, while I kept dancing and smiling at his excitement.
— It’s called belly dancing, yes, I’ll teach you, and if you want to dance with me now, I’m sure it’ll be a fun addition, kid. – I joked, answering his questions and ruffling his golden hair.
He got excited, soon standing next to me and trying to copy my moves, of course, it wasn’t very similar, but he was having fun, and that was more than enough for both of us. And the people watching thought it was cute too, which earned us a little extra money, so it was all profit.

Man, I love the trope of aliens being terrified of humans, and I've seen some fics of human!reader reacting differently to stuff like posions/plants in hyrule, but this is in another level! We are indestructible! I mean, I could live on Death Mountain! With the Gorons! It's literally a dream come true!
Also, the urge this would give me to give them all the hugs and piggy back rides whenever it gets cold/windy/whatever extreme condition.
If Hylians would be surprisingly light, would they be light enough for me to pick up Time? Just get that big ass man with a bunch of armor on my back? Because new need unlocked.
NEW NEED UNLOCKED INDEEEEDDD. (touches my fingertips together like a villain up to no good)
CREDIT FOUND!! (Who did it first!):
IDK who it was but someone mentioned in a rlly old 2023-2022? LU x human reader post abt the hylians being lighter in comparison to humans!! If i find who it is, or if u recognize u wrote abt smth similar pls leave a comment so I can @ you!! /gen

A kinda 2nd part/expansion to this post!
no bc the “i can live wherever tf i want” was secretly part of why i wrote that post (so sue me, i wanna be able to follow wild around his hyrule w/o getting nuked)
OMFG SO GLAD SOMEONE WANTS TO TALK ABT HOW AFFECTIONATE YOU’D GET BC OF THIS TOWARDS THE LINKS (anduseitasanexcusehahai mean what? whatd i say??)
There’s only 2 types of Links in this hyrule(s):
Who’s already down with being cuddled at the slightest/not so slightest inconvenience??:
Wild
(unsurprisingly, also if anyone teases him he just teases right back that not only is it “for survival”, but also look he’s “getting Guide Cuddles™️ and You’re Not” lmao,
would sleep right up against ur bedroll every night if u let him, likes when you commit to the cuddle (even if he goes a little red), like wrapping arms + legs around him, adores fireside cuddles, has said on multiple occasions that nothing makes him feel safer than holding onto you, and how he can’t go back to doing things like this on his own anymore 😭😭😭
his favorite cuddle is whatever you give him LMAO u can always count on Wild if your ever feeling like u need to cuddle smth blonde and cute lol - he constantly offers or initiates it himself <33 )
Sky
another unsurprising one, his favorite time to cuddle is when it’s cold outside, or windy, and he can just get under a blanket and take a nap with you,
esp if it’s both and he can convince you to lay partially on him for heated + weighted human blanket purposes, he’s literally staring at you with sparkles in his eyes as soon as a breeze goes by lol
his Loftwing/Crimson wasn’t rlly able to fly u long distances u find out!! :( Hylians are just so light that ofc that explains why they can ride these pelican/ostrich creations for hours, whereas the bird can only rlly manage 20 minutes of low flying with you (+ Sky) on its back, but that’s fine, bc u figured out how to “shield surf” rlly fast down slopes to keep up with Sky flying low, and by “shield surfing” i mean, shocking Wild into jaw-dropped silence as he watches you fly by completely barefoot 👍
(after all, ur skin has to be pretty tough/thick to be able to handle the weather/environmental conditions, and finding out u can withstand lava? yeah this is nothing turns out)
secretly loves piggyback rides, but never asks, u just see him get this look in his eyes, and shuffling in place just behind you lol
Wind
touch starved, but what Link isnt lol
his favorite is piggyback rides, since he was raised by his grandma, and there weren’t a whole lot of close, young adults to pick him up as a kid
so now, he takes FULL advantage of u being able to easily pick him up lol
one time u guys were going uphill while a pleasant breeze was blowing-
actually it was gale force winds.
but ur you, so it took Wind flying backwards into you to realize. he also screeched at you for “ABANDONING ME- YOURE GONNA MAKE ME, A LITTLE GUY LIKE ME, CRAWL UP THIS?? HOW COULD YOU-” you give him piggy back rides whenever it’s windy.
will treat u like his own personal ship whenever ur both in the water, which consists of him yelling sailor terms like “turn starboard! raise the sails!” while sitting on ur shoulders while u get slammed (gently buffeted, really) by waves
Hyrule
shy, shy, shy, shy-
the quintessential:
“👉👈 🥺 is it okay, if we maybe hug rn?? I'm just rlly cold, and i know u said you didnt mind, and I saw Wild and Sky just laying on you, sorry if this is weird-”
Hyrule, sweets, you literally love him more than life itself, of course you’ll cuddle the fairy boy
the more excited he gets = the more likely to jump on ur back/wrap his arms around ur waist happily, esp since he’s an extra cutie patootie and will subconsciously seek u out if the environment gets a little rough
Sets an Amazing example for the other Links, not too clingy when ur busy, great at latching onto ur back when things get tough for him, asks politely and thanks you everytime he gets down <3
Hyrule is eternally fascinated by whatever u do, u just walk thru flood waters like it’s nothing and while the rest are used to it by now, he’s the only Link looking at you like your some kind of god 💗💘💖💕🙈
accidentally squeezed ur arm muscles one time when he saw u doing that thing where u curl ur arm and Wind/Wild were able to hang off of it,
you both just stared at each other for a solid minute before his ears turned down and he went completely red and apologized profusely for 5 minutes, before you just scooped him up too lmao (his face after tho)
Four
depending on the cuddle he gets shy sometimes, even worse if more than 1 Link is looking at you two, in which he will attempt to escape ur arms.
keyword being attempt.
you just wrap ur legs around him and trap him instead lol
likes to cuddle you somehow where he’s not in the way but you can keep doing whatever it is you were busy with
if he splits, then u can fucking bet Red is the first to dive into ur chest- unless there is literally, actively, a threat right in front of him, he’s going for it lol, Green loves to wrap his arms around one of yours and just hang off u all day, Blue will wait until ur sitting somewhere and flop on ur legs to purposely trap u there, the little shit, and Vio just likes hugs. he’s such a sweetheart, he just loves being wrapped up and wrapping you up 🥺
And who must be Convinced. (most to least)
Legend
fully expected,
silly man thinks he’s above love and cuddles, and all the good things in life LMAO came for ur throat again
it'll be below-freezing temperatures, in a cave with a barely there campfire, a blizzard outside, the other heroes complaining at him to just get under the blanket so you’ll get under the blanket,
bc you two are just doing that thing where 2 characters have like a table between them and are fake-out dodging left and right to try and catch the other lmao
is most susceptible to cuddles when he’s tired/injured/sick/sleepy.
it’s a cold morning and u just scootch the Links into a pile and use him as a pillow lol, and as long as no one, not even gods, perceives you two, he’ll let you stay
ok but you definitely caught him from falling into lava one time while on Death Mountain, and had to bridal carry him across half a lava lake back to shore, hehe,
Legend swore everyone there to secrecy on their own graves and favorite items
also refuses to let Ravio know of ur human advantages lol
he just wants the attention on himself as much as he can in between the other Links, no need for more competition
Time
silly man just doesn't think of his needs including affection/emotional comfort,
he only rlly initiates when the circumstances are dire, like gale force winds that he can barely walk thru/starting to slip, desert heat getting to him thru his armor and needs ur cooling touch, etc.
he keeps it as professional as he can, like wrapping an arm around ur shoulders, but you just snatch him by the waist and pick him up half the time, was surprised at first, chain giggled at him, then complained lightly, finally just accepted his fate anytime he touches you lol,
YES you have given him a piggyback ride, when a flood of water burst a dam during a battle/the other Links got out but Time didn't bc of his heavy armor,
so u yoink him up and just stood ur ground against the raging waves and climbed a rock until u weren't submerged anymore, poor guy was so worn out from the battle + the flood that he just let you carry him all the way until u camped for the night, and secretly took a nap 😭
like Legend he can be convinced to rely on u when he’s already vulnerable like sleepy/tired/injured/sick, but he does find himself secretly appreciative someone in the group can just lift his heavy ass in full armor/or someone else if it gets bad enough,
got converted and no longer has to be convinced usually, he just doesn't initiate much so u have to lol
Warriors
YET ANOTHER SILLY MAN!!
whats with all these idiots neglecting themselves, both physically and emotionally??
like boy u cant stand the heat of a desert or blizzard, just let in the cuddles 👹
similar to Time, just more vocal abt how appreciative/advantageous it is to have someone to be able to carry comrades out of harsh conditions or battles easily.
Did Not think abt this applying to himself until you literally swept him off his feet like a classic damsel in distress- mans let out a shriek after taking a second to process everything LMAO-
Loudly and Dramatically complains abt u coming to cuddle him, both just to love on him, and to heat him up in a rainstorm, but hugs you back and holds onto you anyway hehe.
Became the 2nd person to find out you’re immune to lightning.
See, everyone heard Legend talk abt u getting struck in a storm in Wild’s hyrule, but no one really came to full terms with it bc they didn't see it. Warrior is now a full believer. He actually got the closest to pissing his armor he ever has in all of his battles bc he forgot abt the metal in the storm = bad idea, until it was too late and u guys were trying to retreat to regroup, bc there were too many black-bloods, only to get full body tackled by you to avoid getting hit by lightning.
You had to bridal carry him for a minute after bc u just got back up after being hit, (it just felt like you rubbed ur body on the carpet and touched a metal wall, like a full body small static shock) bc he was in such a state of literal horror/shock,
Wars saw your life flash before his eyes 💀
Twilight
HA HA HA- HE NEEDS THE LEAST AMOUNT OF CONVINCING LMAOOO
goofy wolf man has wolf instincts that help ur case as to Why You Need to Pet Twilight’s Hair and Hold His Hand at All Times if Possible.
main reason Twi’s here is bc he thinks his height + weight = him not needing u to hold onto/cuddle as much, and he would be proven wrong HA
actually gets all blushy/shy anytime u pick him up, freezes like a puppy who’s gotten scruffed too lol
likes a lot more casual touch/cuddles, like arm around ur shoulder or his, sitting with legs touching, leaning against u when he’s cold, etc.
omfg funniest thing abt Wars/Time/Twi is that they’re the tallest out of the Links, so they make for extra fun when picking them up, cuddling etc.
but the best thing ever happened one time when Twi was still recovering from the Shadow’s wound, it got reopened/ached so bad he couldn’t run, but u all were trying to retreat at the moment bc Big Boss,
and u just snatched him up into a piggyback ride, his legs comically sticking out, but the best part was that Hylians are light.
so you were able to run full tilt adrenaline powered run, to the point you surpassed the other Links ahead, and had everyone laughing and simultaneously trying to conserve their breath to keep running LMAO
Twi grew up tall/bigger than kids his age, and is another victim of “no adult figures to pick him up when he was younger”, so he gets this little giddy smile when u pick him up lol <3
the first time u put him in a bridal carry for smth like river rushing waters, mans blushed, stuttered abt smth the whole time, and then didnt let go after you tried to put him down, u didnt have the heart to insist, so u just carried him around half of the day 😭
☆
sorry some have less than others, its nearly 2am I'm just riffing kicking my feet and shit, so I'm not being very thorough
i hope u liked my spiral into blonde twink insanity (well theyre kinda on a spectrum of twinkness)
anyway goodnight, and have a great weekend!!
to the 2 other ppl who sent asks, ill get to you soon and thank you sm for sending stuff :’)
Please feel free to send asks for requests or just to chat :)
Peace out,

Distance Makes the Heart Grow Confused — Twilight Princess! Link x gn! reader
summery: you find your life turning monotonous without your childhood friend around, but when he comes back you find yourself conflicted. thankfully, he has his ways of making you feel better.
tw: mentions of getting hurt (not described tho), hurt/comfort, linked universe.
a/n: ALWEHFDLKGJ I LOVE LINK!!!! Finally wrote for him!!! Words kept getting put down I couldn't stop myself. Also, heavily inspired by @maple-the-awesome's The Chain Meets You, His Partner but also vastly different lol (so go read that too if you haven't).
wc: 3.6k
Master List
Trying to ignore the sweat that dripped down your brow, you continued to watch Talon hack and swing at the dummy that was set just outside of Link’s treehouse. He had left, again, on a dangerous mission that you had little to no information about. Once again left in the dark. So you didn’t think he’d mind if you used his equipment for training. You're being filled with sorrow for multiple reasons, but the main one at the moment was for Talon, who felt the need to learn how to fight to protect the village. A task that you had failed at. Something that ate at not only you, but Rusl, Colin’s own father. It ate at you for a different reason than Rusl, as not only had you failed at protecting the other children, but you had failed Link, who had set out and brought them back. A task that shouldn’t have fallen onto his shoulders solely, but became his burden to bear as both you and Rusl were too hurt to travel, let alone fight.
You had cried when he came back (much to your embarrassment). Cried happily that he returned. Then cried solemnly when he had told you about how he not only saved the children of Ordon, but had saved all of Hyrule. Cried for just how quickly he had to grow in the few months of his travels, how he found solace with someone that wasn’t you (you knew that was selfish, but you just couldn’t help it). If the villagers had thought you and Link were close before, they were surprised that you had managed to become closer. You never left his side, always trying to do chores before he had the chance. Link needed time to rest, but you knew he would refuse to…so you had to force him somehow.
That felt like forever ago as he once again found himself placed with an even heavier burden than before. Traveling through different dimensions to kill some sort of shadow beast. You weren’t one hundred percent on the details as Link as rushidly explained that he was leaving and he wasn’t sure for how long. That had been months ago, and you found yourself taking over his role in the village. You were the ranch hand now, as well as the defender since Rusl was needed at home to help take care of his newborn. Which led you to this moment, teaching Talon how to defend himself. He was still young, so he had time to learn of the best stances, strikes, defenses, and more. And even if you weren’t as great as Link when it came to a fight, but you were still pretty darn good, which is why Talon asked you.
You were brought out of your reverie when Talon let out an excited cheer, jumping up and down as he pointed out the broken pumpkin that once acted as the dummy’s head. With a small smile, you congratulated the young boy, telling him to go take a break and play with the other kids. To your satisfaction he did just that, running off into the village as you let out a sigh. You didn’t mind the kids, in fact, half the village were kids. No, you just weren’t as close to them as Link or Ilia were, but they didn’t seem to mind your awkwardness. Just as you were about to make your own way into the village for your much needed break, you were caught off guard as you were brought into an embrace. Panicking, you went to elbow whoever decided it would be a smart idea to catch you off guard, only to be swung around in a circle. You grasped onto the strong arms that held you by your waist, turning your head only to see your greatest cause of stress for the past few months.
A mix of emotions washed over you as Link set you down, letting you turn to face him fully. Happy once more to see the man you loved, relieved to see that he was not only alive, but no visible injuries, and a bit annoyed. Annoyed that he just pops back in and acts like nothing had happened, like he hadn’t just left you alone again, like he hadn’t just left for a mission that could’ve left him dead in a world he was unfamiliar with. Where you would’ve never known of his status, if he was alive or dead, left to forever ponder the fate of your childhood friend. In the end, your relief won, staring into his azure eyes that shone with pure adoration and happiness.
“You’re back already?” You whispered, like if you spoke any louder he’d shatter before you and you’d wake from a dream. He nodded, always one who expressed himself with his actions instead of words. “To stay?” You clarified, and that was when your heart dropped. His smile fell, and his gaze drifted away from you.
Yet he still refused to let you go, if anything he pulled you in closer as he spoke in a similar hushed whisper, “Came here to restock our supplies.” Before you could ask what he meant by ‘our’, you heard multiple footsteps approach, causing you to pull away from Link much to his dismay. Each time he was pulled away from you he felt like he was missing a part of himself. He almost downright refused to leave you when he came back from saving the forest temple and saw you laying battered and bruised in your bed. Your despondent attitude had caused him great heartache, unable to stay and lift your spirits as he had to clear the twilight from the rest of Hyrule. Instead, he kissed your battered and bruised skin that day hoping that his love and adoration for you would seep through your skin and reach your bruised soul. Instead, it seemed his affection had done the opposite, and as you littered his own face with kisses of your own, he could feel the regret, self hatred, and sadness drenched in each and every peck. You had given him the most soul crushing look as he exited your room to continue his journey. He knew at that moment you blame yourself for the children being taken, for not being able to come and help him on his journey.
And just when everything seemed to go back to as normal as life could get, it got uprooted once more. That sorrow filled your eyes once more when he brought up leaving soon. Once more, he longed to stay by your side as your hand cupped his cheek, stating that he shouldn’t have the world rest upon his shoulders again, how it wasn’t fair he couldn’t just live his life like any other hylian. Deep down Link knew you were right, and as he met the Links from the other dimensions, he knew it was unfair that they also had to bear similar burdens. Yet at the same time it was a solace that he met others who were dealt similar hands as him. So when it was time to go back to his dimension, where you would be there to greet him, Link had been overcome with eagerness, wanting to see you once more, talk of his adventures, and give you a few items he deemed you’d enjoy. He completely forgot it wasn’t to stay, and when your loving expression turned sour he felt his heart drop.
Before he could try to cheer you, the rest of his group had finally caught up, causing you to stare at the multiple blond men who wore green tunics. You blinked rapidly, wondering if you had hit your head to cause such a sight, because it almost seemed like many Links of different variations stood before you.
“So this was why you were running so fast,” One of them huffed, the only major difference was the scarf he wore around his neck. An awkward air settled around you all, and you found yourself itching for a reason to excuse yourself. You’re sure anyone Link would travel with was nice, but you always had a harder time getting to know new people.
“Everyone, meet my friend,” Link gestured to you, a warm smile lining his lips once more. Then he introduced you to each individual. Apparently they were all Link, just from their own times/dimensions. It was honestly hard to wrap your head around the whole situation, but they all went by unusual names to clarify who was who. Your Link being called Twilight (or Twi) due to the darkness your land had fallen to years ago.
“It’s nice to meet you all,” You smiled politely, hoping to not come off as awkward as you felt. “Unfortunately I have to go help Fado with the ranch now.”
“I can–” Before your Link could offer to help, you sent him a sharp glare that quickly shut him up.
“You need to rest,” You scolded, and as your gaze fell onto the others you clarified. “You all need some rest. You should stay for the night at least, Link—Twi has room in his house to fit you all.”
“But–”
“No buts,” You shook your head, already starting to walk towards the village, the argument ending before it could even begin. You could hear some chuckles from the group, but you paid no regard.
To clear your mind from everything that just happened moments prior, you found yourself cleaning the goats stalls at Fado’s ranch. Clearing and refilling their food and water troughs, shoveling out their poop, stacking hay bales that will be used the next day, then preparing to herd all the goats back into the barn. A routine you had grown accustomed to in Link's absence. This was his job…had been his job, but it was yours in the meantime. It unsettled you how well the village could do in the absence of Link, how no one dared to utter his name. Or perhaps they thought the topic would upset you…they wouldn’t be wrong in that regard.
Just as the sun started to set, you closed the doors to the barn, ready to head back to your home and prepare a warm bath to rid yourself of the grim accumulated from a day of hard work. Of course things could never be so easy. Link stood by the gate, watching you close up. As you approached the blond hero, those tumultuous feelings from earlier rose once more, unsure if you could handle any more emotional encounters.
“Come,” Link waved at you, nodding towards the village. “Wild made dinner.” You planted your feet, ceasing your movements as you felt your eyebrows furrow. On one hand, you felt like you were being unfair to Link's companions, but on the other, you felt completely exhausted both mentally and physically. Waking up before the sun rises and falling asleep long after it sets does one to someone's body. Not to mention the constant work that was piled onto you, from working on the ranch to training Talon, you hadn’t had much time to yourself, and you weren’t sure if that was a good or bad thing. And when Link sensed that you stopped, turning around to face you, you're sure the bags under your eyes, slouched posture, and how you could barely keep your eyes open screamed everything you felt. The bone deep ache that just wouldn’t go away.
Still, he grabbed your hand. His calloused palm slotted in perfectly with your own. As he pulled you past everyone’s house, stopping in front of his own you almost gave in, too tired to fight back. Instead he quickly went in and came out with two bowls of what you assume is stew. You quickly grabbed the bowls before he could spill them on his climb down. Once more, he grabbed his bowl, then your hand, and pulled you towards the spring.
The crystal water lapped at your feet after you pulled your boots and socks off, curling your toes in the pristine sand. Both you and Link sat in silence as you ate, the starry sky peaking through the trees that swayed with the small breeze. Slowly, you found your body unwinding, each tense muscle coming loose with each small wave of the spring. The stew was good as well, filling your stomach with something other than the basics you had been forcing yourself to eat. You scowled into your bowl when you realized you were feeling better than you had in a long time, and that always seemed to be when Link was by your side.
Like he could sense your thoughts, he scooted closer to you, arm to arm, nearly thigh to thigh. Lifting your gaze, you were met with his worried one. His eyes searched your face like he was deciphering a language only he could…and in a sense maybe that was true. With a full belly and an exhausted body and mind, your eyes started to droop and you leaned against the blonde next to you. No matter what, he was still Link, still your childhood friend that you grew up with, and you’d always cherish him.
“I missed you,” He muttered, gently brushing away any hair that managed to fall onto your face.
“I missed you too,” You mumbled back, the warmth of his body inviting you into a peaceful sleep. A comforting silence had fallen over you both, making it harder for your struggle to stay awake.
“I love you,” Was all your mind could barely comprehend before you fell unconscious.
When you awoke the next morning, you half expected to be by the spring with a sleeping Link by your side. But to your disappointment you were in your room. Of course, being the gentleman he is, he carried you home and even tucked you in. You’d have half the mind to be embarrassed, but this was Link we’re talking about. You both had done and said more embarrassing things around each other than you’d like to admit. And when you opened the curtains you nearly had a heart attack realizing you were late as the sun had already risen a good amount. You shuffled around the room and put on your clothes, trying to ignore the thought that Link had undressed you for your comfort the previous night. Stumbling into your last boot, you ran as fast as you could, ignoring your rumbling stomach in favor of not getting scolded. (Not that Fado would actually scold you, if anything he’d be thanking Ordona for letting you rest a bit).
Arriving at the ranch, apologies lining your tongue, you felt your mouth drop at the sight of all the Links already at work. The smallest Link, Wind, if you remember correctly, dropped his crate at the sight of you and ran over. You winced, hoping that the crate didn’t contain eggs or glass, but got sidetrack as the young boy smiled brightly at you, asking a ton of questions right out of the gate.
“Good morning! Did Twi go out with you last night? What did y’all do? He seemed pretty happy when he came back. How did you both meet? Are you both–” Wind was quickly cut off as an older Link approached with a stern look.
“Wind, you know better than to toss crates around,” Time scolded. “And don’t overwhelm the young one with too many questions. Now go and finish stacking those crates.” With a pout, the kid gave you one last look before dashing back to his previous task, leaving you and the older male alone. Helplessly, you watched all the chores you typically get done ten times faster than you’ve ever seen, feeling unsure what to do without work. Seeming to sense your cluelessness, Time spoke up once more, mentioning that Twilight had stayed behind at his house. And so, you found yourself wandering over, only to pout this time. Link was watching Talon’s new skills with the sword, all the village kids watching them both.
Beth had spotted you first, shouting your name and waving at you with a giant smile, “Look! Link’s back and he’s gonna spar with Talon!” “Spar?” You repeated as you blinked. Talon was in no way shape or form ready to spar yet, but Link had a sparkle in his eye that only spelled mischief when your gazes met. Talon was jumping up and down, excited to not only see Link again, but to do something you had been holding off on. With a resigned sigh, you only shook your head, letting out a short ‘okay.’ The two got into a fighting stance, and you had to fight the itch to correct Talon’s incorrect posture. Instead, you continued to watch from the sidelines as Link let Talon start with the first strike. The skill difference was obvious, and it was clear that Link was going easy, but in the end, Talon ended up knocked to the ground. And as you expected, Talon complained, waving off his own mistakes and pinning it onto someone or something else. To your surprise, instead of asking for a rematch, Talon ran off with his friends following shortly after.
Bumping your shoulder slightly, Link drew your attention back to him, a boyish smile resting on his lips. After all this time, all the hardships he went through, he still managed to have a young air around him. You weren’t sure how he did it. You reciprocated the gesture, bumping into his shoulder slightly harder.
“I don’t know what to do,” You couldn’t help but confess. “All the work is getting done and I feel like I should be doing something.” Link looked up with a hum, tapping his chin in thought for a few seconds. That cunning grin once again settled on his face before he grabbed your hand and sprinted towards the springs.
“The springs, again?” You asked with a short laugh. “Didn’t we do this last night?” You felt your skin prickle as he sent you a devious look, picking you up like you were nothing and tossing you into the water. Thankfully, he threw you into the deeper part, or else that fall would’ve surely hurt. Wiping the water from your eyes, you sent the man your best glare you could muster, grabbing the front of his tunic and pulling him in further. In retaliation, he sent a wave of water at your face with a chuckle. With a huff, you tried to do the same, but the wave wasn’t as big as you’d like it to have been and you both laughed. You felt the darkness that had enveloped your heart slowly melt away as both you and Link played like you used to when merely children. Something you had missed dearly in the past few years.
As your playful fight slowed, you couldn’t stop yourself from watching Link, or how the water fell from his hair and dripped back into the spring. The last three words he muttered last night rung back through your head. All the love and adoration you held for him gathered into a pool, ready to spill past your lips, and who were you to fight that? Not you, you thought as you eyed his lovely smile, one you would die for.
“I love you,” You stated, heart beating wildly as Link turned to face you. At first he looked at you with shock, but that melted into pure warmth and affection as he waded closer. So close that you felt your body warm at the mere thought of his touch, felt your heart quiver in anticipation for his next move, and stomach flutter with all the love you held.
It was silly. When you were younger, you recalled that you’d pretend to be his spouse and play house. How you stated you’d both get married someday, and how he would always go along with your nonsense. You said all those things with your full chest before, but now saying your true feelings felt like a battle. It made everything more real, and as you grew older you assumed he had never taken your childish ramblings seriously. Yet you seemed to be proven wrong as he gently cupped your face with one hand, the touch sending heat blazing throughout your entire being. As he leaned in closer, you closed your eyes, expecting a kiss…only for him to nuzzle your nose with his own. Yet the disappointment was drowned with the fuzzy butterflies that flew in your stomach at such an intimate act. One so loving and pure.
Link’s actions screamed volumes louder than any words could as he littered both your cheeks, forehead, nose, chin, or anywhere he could reach with kisses. A bittersweet reminder of the day he came back after twilight had taken over. And just like that day, you reciprocated, this time with a heart full of light and happiness. Instead of ending it there, you pulled him in for a proper kiss, one you had wanted for as long as you could remember. He wasn’t as surprised by your actions as you wished he’d be as he reciprocated without hesitation. You didn’t mind his chapped lips, or the way you both kissed clumsily, because this was Link. Your Link. And you wouldn’t have him any other way.
And once you both pulled away breathless, ignoring how you both still stood in the spring with sopping wet clothes sticking to your skin, you took in the other's presence. The warmth you both offered each other, the happiness, the love, the need and the want. You were like two pieces to a puzzle, a part of you missing with the other gone. And in that moment, everything felt like it clicked into place. He may still need to continue his journey, but you knew that he’d always find his way back to you, just like he’d always know where to find you.

Twilight- too many beds
And/or
Mutual pining
Twilight and the seven beds
Have you ever pine so hard you manage to sleep in the same bed despite there only being two of you and seven beds? Well, now you have ;) .
"This has gotta be one o' the most buck wild things I've ever seen." Twilight says as he looks around the room you have booked for the night.
Separated from the group you and Twilight were lucky enough to find an inn but you are in a room with seven beds.
Two people don't need seven beds!
"At least we have choices?" You offer weakly.
The entire situation feels like a fever dream, and frankly, the only thing keeping you from laughing in shock is the man at your side who seems utterly flabbergasted. You can't exactly blame him, though.
"Who needs seven beds for two people?" Twilight asks.
You shake your head, "I have no idea, maybe they get a lot of divorced couples?"
"That dosen’t make a lick of sense, darlin'." Twilight says as he looks around.
"At least it's a new and exciting problem?"
"I wouldn't call it excitin', but new is one way to describe it."
"Alright cowboy, just pick a bed." You snort.
"Just one?" He asks easily.
"Unless you plan to take up more than one bed."
"I reckon I might."
You laughs and roll your eyes. "Pick your beds then."
"After you," Twilight says with a smile, motioning to the array of options and watching you.
"What a gentleman." You offer as you begin to stalk towards the most comfortable looking bed.
"I don't s'pose you have the story of the child and the three bears?"
You look over, tilting your head. "Goldilocks? She was kind of a jerk but I don't remember there being seven beds."
Twilight laughs.
You find the bed that's most comfortable and immediately collapse on it. Sinking into the mattress is like heaven.
You prop yourself up on your elbows and let yourself watch Twilight touch every bed. It's a little funny, but you watch him eliminate every bed except the one you're on.
"How can all the beds be so bad?" Twilight huffs.
You snort, "Who knows."
"I guess I'll use this one." Twilight says, settling on the bed closest to you that he all but dissappear into the overly soft and fluffy bed.
You bite back a smile.
The bed you're on is the most comfortable... and he looks comical and also rather miserable. You make the choice to ignore any feelings and offer to share the way you would for any of your friends.
"Well, why don't you try this one?" You ask.
Twilight eyes you with what looks like suspicion, "That's your bed though."
"We can share. If all the others suck and this one dosen’t it makes sense."
He purses his lips, searching your face for any hesitation or discomfort. He seems to be pondering your offer.
Does he not want to share?
Should you offer to take the floor?
"Are you sure?" He asks.
You nod, offering a smile. "As long as you promise not to bite me or something else ridiculous."
"I don't bite my friends." He says solemnly.
"Good?"
Twilight stands, looking at you as he approaches the bed slowly. There's a hesitancy you don't understand but he seems to be trying to keep you comfortable.
He's so sweet.
Twilight sits on the edge of the bed and sighs in relief. "This is amazin'."
"I know, right?" You grin at him.
"How's that story go again? Too soft too hot?"
You shake your head, "No, Twi. It's the first bed was too hard, the second was too soft and the third was just right."
"You're sure you don't mind sharin' with me?"
"Unless you actually have fleas like Legend says I'm sure it's fine." You say immediately.
"I do not."
"Then it's fine."
Twilight offers you a smile, "Alrigh', I belive you."
"You better."
"Is it bad to say I just wanna eat and go to bed?"
"Not at all, come on cowboy let's get some dinner."
"Lead the way, I'll follo'."
"Oooh, you feel brave then?"
"I trust you," Twilight says with an earnestly that makes your heart twinge and your cheeks warm.
You lead him out of the room and downstairs to where the tavern is.
Dinner is peaceful, and you allow yourself to spend the night soaking up his presence. He's such a hoot to be around, and having his attention is perhaps more heady than it should be.
Getting ready for bed is easy. Ignoring the six other glaringly empty beds as you settle down next to him is the hard part. But really, if you close your eyes, you don't have to see it.
-------
You wake up to the sound of a stifled laugh.
You groan, pressing your face into the fabric it rests on only to find something firm under it.
There's wight across your back.
Oh.
You realize you are sprawled on your stomach with your face atop Twilight's chest and his arm over your back.
"There are six beds what are they doing?" A famillar voice whispers.
You pry open one eye to see the others in your room, Legend and Hyrule closest to you.
"I think it's sweet." Sky says, "They look comfortable."
You sigh heavily, trying to push up on your elbow but gasping a little when Twilight pulls you back down with a low growl.
Twilight moves so his other arm is around you now too, keeping you close.
"No." The rancher mutters, still asleep.
"We'll come back." Wild says with a smirk.
"I want the story." Legend says, "There are six other beds."
"Get out." You huff, melting into Twilight's embrace.
Wild and Time herd the group out, though not before the sailor gets some pictures and Legend makes obnoxious kiss faces.
Twilight groans, eyes fluttering open. "Was' i'?"
"Hey." You say.
"Darl'?" He yawns.
"They found us and had some thoughts about all the beds." You shift so you can peer up at him.
"Hm. Ya wan' go back t' sleep?" He asks.
"Yeah." You say.
"G'night."
"Sleep well, Twi."

Not mine.
Hi!...Been a while I apologize in advance but I did have this idea in mind and I really wanted to write it, I know I have other request and don't worry I'll get to them as soon as possible. If the series does well I may do a continuation of this prompt.
Twilight x reader.
Summary: The chain found themselves in a different era monsters just like back in Hyrule but it's like a wasteland there. After being caught captive they were brought back to what seems to be the leftovers of the castle of Hyrule. Princess Zelda was present surprisingly to the boys(Specifically Twilight), it seems Zelda wasn't the one in charge. However it was the face of a loved one.
(It's like the Shrek 3 plot? How Fiona didn't remember Shrek and she was like a badass princess)
Edit: The suit and helmets I'm referring to are from wreck it Ralph and Zelda and Y/n are wearing Calhoun's suit.
Warnings: Angst?

₊˚ ✧ ━━━━⊱⋆⊰━━━━ ✧ ₊˚₊˚ ✧ ━━━━⊱⋆⊰━━━━ ✧ ₊˚
"Ugh, That lizard asshole is playing with us!"
"Language."
The boys have just gotten out of the swamp they landed in, unsure if that's what you would call lucky but it's a change of pace. Wild was the one who was beginning to undress himself until-
"Ahem, Cub. I think you outta put your clothes back on, ain't no one here trying to see all that." Twilight says making Wild chuckle awkwardly, "Sorry, I always do this when I'm alone." "Why am I not surprised?"
Time looked around the place, noticing the landscape and how distraught it brought him to see such a place that was supposed to be the mimic of his home but in shambles.
"What happened..." Time muttered, Warriors comes up behind him and sighs, "Seems like the bad guys won." Warriors says, Time turns back around and looks at the group. "Change of plans, we came here for a reason and if this Hyrule is like every other there's Zelda. We find her and ask questions."
"Well looks like we don't need to look far, Guards on horses are coming!" Sky points out, a group of three horsemen came towards them, dressed in simple wear that could mistake them for normal pass byers but they wouldn't count on it considering that the men looked like they went through a lot.
Time stood tall, ready to exchange a few words until, "Intruders! State your business on this land or perish before us." One of the men held a...metal wand? a nuzzle at the end towards them all, even though the object was unknown to them they didn't classify it as something safe, especially when it was pointed to them.
"We are not a threat! We need to speak with the princess of this place."
"Princess Zelda? Why must you speak to our highness? To chop her head off clean, I don't think so."
The guards were awfully stubborn but it made sense when a wasteland like this is considered 'home'
"We are heroes we come to assist." Warriors chime in to try and put his persuading skills in charge. "Heroes are foreign here, how do we know you aren't a Yiga?" "Do we look like we'll be a threat?" "Looks can deceive."
Awfully stubborn indeed.
"We must return now, it's almost a blood moon." Another man comments, "Blood moon? We can assist during that time!" "Those flimsy metals won't be sharp enough to cut through the skin of our beast" The other man gestured to their swords unbeknownst to them, they angered a certain hero by that sentence.
"Maybe you don't know how to handle it properly." Four snapped out of nowhere.
There was silence between the groups and soon the horsemen tapped the side of the horse with his foot gently, guiding it to face a certain way. "Follow us."
Finally they got through.
"You heard him, gear up and stay close behind."
₊˚ ✧ ━━━━⊱⋆⊰━━━━ ✧ ₊˚₊˚ ✧ ━━━━⊱⋆⊰━━━━ ✧ ₊˚
The sight of the ruined castle brought dread to all, following behind the horsemen there was chatter amongst the group. Once the horsemen put the horses back in the stables they all guided the boys into the entrance.
"Your highness" The men stood in front of the princess who sat on her throne, dressed in a suit instead of the normal attire a princess would normally wear. "Who are these people you brought back?" She asked glancing over the boys before returning to her men that stood before her.
"Strays. They don't seem too suspicious, We found them by the swamp." One informed, "They said they wish to assist us during the time of the blood moon, normally a Yiga in disguise would be opposed."
"Still rather suspicious that you found them near a swamp, what were you all doing there?" Zelda had asked. "I'm sure we can discuss this in a more private setting, we have questions of our own as well." "Why must I answer you strangers?"
"Because, If you answer our questions we'll help you against your enemies."
"Are you skilled with a Gun?"
Flicker of the ears from the boys at the unknown word or object, in curiosity they glance at one another in confusion but otherwise were engaged to see how this would play out.
"No but we are quick learners."
"That's what they all say and they are never to be seen again"
A silence between them all until...
Zelda cracked and let out a hearty laugh, "Oho! I can't believe you fell for it! Sorry, Sorry..." She takes a breath before she grins, "It's fine! You all can stay, You all are hylian's anyways, I can tell Yiga and Hylians apart."
"So...You'll answer our questions?" Warriors asked, "Of course! For the trade of your strength during our blood moon tonight, it gets hectic. Say, you really never heard of a gun before?" Non subtle nods upon the boys as that simple gesture answered all.
"Well, we can't have more dead corpses on the field tonight! I have you head over to the boss of this facility." Zelda smiles, "If you may, I'd like to escort them." Zelda says to her men who nod and walk out of the room.
"Follow along!"
₊˚ ✧ ━━━━⊱⋆⊰━━━━ ✧ ₊˚₊˚ ✧ ━━━━⊱⋆⊰━━━━ ✧ ₊˚
"Gun's, what are they made of? What do they do?!" Wind asked excitedly which only got a small chuckle out of Zelda, "You might be a bit too young for guns..." "I'm 14! I'm old enough!!" Wind pouts.
"Pardon his behaviour but who is this person who will teach us how to wield a gun?" Wild asked with slight excitement at the possibility of a new weapon in his hands. "Is he the hero?" Legend asked, "He? No, it's a she and...I guess you could describe her as a hero..."
"A girl Link? I knew it!" Wind grins.
Zelda opens the door which reveals the sound of sharp bangs hitting a target, the boys ears flatten a bit at the loud noise but soon adjust themselves to the sound. Their eyes were glued on the person holding what seemed to be what the horsemen had before and they'll guess that it is a 'Gun'
The one holding a gun was wearing the same tight suit as Zelda was and had a helmet on, the person puts the gun back on their hip and turns to Zelda who salutes to the princess earning a nod before the stranger takes off their helmet.
She had silky H/c hair and it was loose, she tossed it over her shoulders letting the hair fall behind her as she locks her e/c eyes intensely on the group in front of her.
POINT OF VIEW CHANGE.
“Who are they?” You asked as Zelda looked back at the group, “I don’t think I asked for any of your guys names, I apologise for that.”
“Forever the scatter brain.” You teased with a slight grin earning a scoff from her, “next time I’ll let one of those Lifazos take a leg.” She threaten earning a chuckle from you.
Interrupting your playful banter, the taller one of the group and the older looking cleared his throat.
“Pardon but we have been tasked to help with the blood moon tonight, Princess Zelda has told us to come here to practice with you on how to wield a gun.”
"Of course, I'm the best when it comes to handling a gun. First off how about we start off with names?" You suggest earning a nod from the leader of the group. Going around you memorise the names for each person and soon the last person to introduce themselves is none other than-
"Rancher! It's your turn..." Wild nudges the still male beside him who was still staring at you in awe, now that you mention it...he didn't actually ever take his eyes off you.
"Is he, okay?" You asked, Wild smacks the back of the mans back earning a small cough to fall through his lips, the Rancher shakes his head as he seemingly 'wakes' up from his day dream and looked a bit flushed.
"Uh, M-my name is Link-" "No! The other name." "Err, Twilight! It's uh, Twilight."
You nod slowly at the odd man, "Cool. So You're a farmer?" You asked curiously, "Yup! I'm a cowboy!" He was a bit awkward and that sentence alone was enough to make a few of the boys ears falter at the cringe.
"Atta boy, make yourself known." Legend teased earning a few chuckles from the others, Twilight flushed even more red, tips of his ears turning a pretty pink colour.
"Well then! Let's get to training." You say, saving the poor boy from embarrassment, "Get into two groups, doesn't matter who. Zelda will take one group and I'll instruct the other."
"Wait- I didn't agree with this!" Zelda cried out, "Too bad, I already said you're helping out now." That earned a huff.
₊˚ ✧ ━━━━⊱⋆⊰━━━━ ✧ ₊˚₊˚ ✧ ━━━━⊱⋆⊰━━━━ ✧ ₊˚
You got the smaller group, consisting of Twilight, Wild, Legend and Sky. You instructed them privately, they picked it up quickly. When it came to Twilight's turn he was still a bit flustered, You gave him a gun (Lowkey don't even know some guns so uh-) for him to practice with. You adjusted his stance by making his arms more straight instead of slightly slouched, kicked gently on his less dominate leg to go back so he can steady himself.
You could hear the Snickers from the side from the other 3 boys, "How do you like your manhandling session~?" The cheeky voice of Wild teased Twilight making him flustered yet again.
"SHut up!-" He voice cracked, lowering the gun to look their way but you were quick to correct his stance again, "Don't pay any attention to them-" You smack his arm back into place, "On the field any type of distraction could kill you." You kick his leg back.
"Even allies." You glance over to the 3 boys sternly earning awkward glances away.
"Right...Uh," "Shoot the target." You instruct, he wasted no time and shot through the red mark on the target. "Quick reflexes. Good." You dismiss him.
₊˚ ✧ ━━━━⊱⋆⊰━━━━ ✧ ₊˚₊˚ ✧ ━━━━⊱⋆⊰━━━━ ✧ ₊˚
After training, they weren’t wrong they were fast learners and could easily handle the weapons now.
“Come! We must eat before the blood moon, our chef makes wonderful food.” Zelda was chirpy, happy to be surrounded by more than her normal people.
You stay behind to get in a few more practice on your aim, wanting to perfect it so you could protect anyone.
“Ahem.”
You turn to the person who cleared their throat.
“Ah, Rancher. You need something?”
“Would you mind if I stayed behind to have more practice?” He asked almost shyly, you didn’t take this meaty guy as a shy one, but never judge a book by its cover.
“Of course not, I admire your commitment.” You say, handing him a gun with some fake ammo inside (I know there probably isn’t a thing but just for the story.)
As he got in his stance, he held the gun up and he pulled the trigger. "You all surprise me." You say after the loud bang hits the red eye in the middle. "O-oh?" "You come out of nowhere, act all hero-y, actually get the hang of a gun which not many people can do and-" You pause looking at him.
"You all look alike. Are you all brothers? I pray for your mother but then again the older looking one could be your father..."
"In a sense- but uh, no. You see..We are the same person from different era's." You tilt your head, "Same person?" "We're all Link's but we have other names to get called by so we don't confuse ourselves."
"Smart, I have another question" Twilight takes the time to put down the gun so he can be fully engaged in the conversation. "You look at me like you know me, Is there another Y/n in your era?" You asked in pure curiosity, you turn your head upright as you awaited an answer.
The man before you drew in a breath before he sighed deeply, "Yes. We all do, I know it may sound weird but we have our own version of you."
"Tell me more"
Twilight let out a soft chuckle and cleared his throat. "Well for starters. The old man- Time, you're his wife in his era." "Really?"
"Really!"
You listen to his rants, growing more fascinated by the minute as he runs his mouth. He stole a glance over to you and this was probably the only time he has ever seen you in such a state, calm and rather relaxed. He could tell from before that you were stiff and on guard so he felt warmth fill his heart as he got the impression that you were warming up to him specifically.
"And you?"
"Of course I have my own Y/n, she's my best friend out of the bunch I'd never replace her. She's a one of a kind"
"She's the one I look like the most?" "No doubt, but in comparison I would be able to tell you two apart."
You snort a bit as you choose your next words. "Is that why you keep staring at me? I must resemble her beauty well" "Trust me, you do." He responded almost immediately which surprised you until he grew red in the face and decided that he should just keep his mouth shut.
You chuckled at his eager words but you decide to ask another question that has been gnawing in your head for a while now. "Any other suitors that got in your way perhaps?" "Not much, only...2 but they aren't really a problem to me right now."
"Any other suitors that are in her way?" That question seemed to hit a nerve.
He had a look of regret, he sighed softly. "We had an argument because...I have a special bond with this other woman. I feel so stupid to let this happen, I can't help who I love even if I wish to forget."
"Forget Y/n or...the other woman?"
"The other woman. I travelled with her during my adventures and we were really good friends but when it came to the day she left I did realise my feelings a bit too late." Too ashamed to look you in the eye he looked at the ground.
"So you like them both." "Yes. In different ways in a way, One because our bond was so special to me I can't forget and the other, I love her with my whole heart and I wish I could make her see that but she sorta hates me at the moment."
Your brows furrow as you tilt your head, learning about the different you from his era was interesting much more than here.
"Why would she hate you? She love's you too, no?"
"She does! or did..." Twilight pulls out a box, he opened it to reveal the ring inside. "It was a gift I gave her before I left on my adventure, I saved up a fortune for this ring and it means so much to me because this was meant to symbolise the meaning of our love but.. During our argument she threw the box back at me saying she wanted nothing to do with me anymore and that she was planning to move on."
That was a lot to take in.
You could see the hurt on his face, he clutched the box before he shoved it back into his pocket. He seemed to be lost in thought so you nudged him with your hand making him turn your way, his face filled with regret, guilt, sadness- everything in one, conflicted.
"So you're going to give up? Just like that?"
"She rejected me, I never really would've expected her to but she did."
"In an argument no one thinks straight besides from trying to get your point across. I'd say she was probably feeling like she was replaced, silly as it may seems since you told me your Y/n was your childhood best friend you two must've had a strong bond."
He nods.
"And when you told her you had another bond with another, imagine how she would've felt, imagine being in her shoes." Twilight ponders on that idea. "I suppose it does make it seem like I'm trying to replace her..." "You're allowed to have other friendships with other women of course but maybe word it better next time because it might've made her feel like you promised her something but you couldn't keep your promise in the end."
"Huh, never thought of it like that."
"I say, when you get back to your era or home, you go up to her and you get on one knee and you-"
"No! I can't do that! We aren't even dating." He cuts you off making you huff, "And? Plus it'll show that you love your Y/n immensely, even if she rejects you she'll still appreciate the gesture and maybe you two will hit it off again."
"And how could you possibly know all that?" "Duh, I'm Y/n too, we might think alike."
he chuckled at that, his charming smile spreading across his face. "Thanks for that. I really needed to talk to someone who would actually give me pretty decent advice." "The others aren't good?" Twilight shakes his head.
"Not so much in the love section, as much as they like to try...They aren't very good." The two of you laughed, the joyous sound of contentment between you two was present and pleasant.
"Y/N! TWILIGHT! FOOD'S READY!!"
"Better go before Zelda loses her head." You teased, earning a smirk from Twilight, "Well then, we better hurry." "I actually have one more thing to say." You say as you walk in front, stopping at the door.
"Yeah?"
You turn around to meet his gaze and with a smile; "I'm envious. I wish I had my own version of you." You turn back and walk out of the room leaving the flustered man in the room by himself.

Zelda Masterlist 🤍Fandom Masterlist
Six minutes and twenty seconds. That's how long you were able to relax before a series of knocks ruined your peace. Predictably, the sound is enough to echo throughout your small home followed by shrilling cries from the once silent cradle mere feet from your bedside.
You could almost cry yourself, although you're able to hold in your frustrations thanks to the smoothing pat your husband gives your head before sighing heavily himself and sitting up from bed. All the two of you wanted was one second of sleep - one second to collapse in bed next to each other and rest your eyes which feel as if they haven't shut in weeks, but apparently, that's too much to ask of this universe.
After giving a quick kiss to your cheek (and smirking at your annoyed grumbling), Twilight slides off the bed and makes his way to the cradle. There, he skillfully sweeps the wiggling newborn into his arms, cooing the distressed baby loving as they make their way to the front door. Seeing as this precious child has only existed for a mere week, it can't really be too much of a surprise that your home has become a hotspot for visitors. Between the village children excitedly wanting to see their newest member and their parents stopping by to offer meals, advice, and all-around support, it seems your door is almost always open these days (not you truly mind one bit), although as it would turn out, your current company doesn't fall into the excepted categories.
"What are you guys doing here?" Twilight suddenly doesn't feel so tired anymore once setting eyes upon the familiar group. They're all here - all eight of the heroes of courage; his treasured friends. This is, what, the third time his world has somehow crossed with theirs? This is really becoming a common pattern, isn't it, and for a split moment, Twilight feels a strike of fear at the thought of this being the start of yet another long, tiresome journey. Now!? He couldn't possibly leave now! What kind of partner and father would that make him? You need him here. He promised he'd be home for you, and for -
"- There's no danger, so don't fret. We've already investigated everything before coming here," Time, who must've read Twilight's worried expression, promptly explains things while failing to fall victim to the same jaw-dropped silence that strikes every other hero in the group as they all stare in astonishment at Twilight - or more accurately, the bothered baby huffing in his arms.
Instead of mocking surprise, Time’s eye casually drops to acknowledge the little one, his lips lifting into a pleasant smile, “...And this must be the famous pup I’ve heard so much about?”
“Wait, you knew?!” Sky gasps, everyone’s shocked attention snapping to the Old Man. He pays them no mind, too focused on his main priority of being the first to hold his great-great-something grandson who Twilight eagerly passes over.
“Ah!” The Rancher’s once worried expression changes like a switch, flashing away into an all-too excited grin. As has been common lately, having new company around immediately sparkles a rambling spiel fueled by his flooding avidity (which has impressively failed to die down even with the exhaustion of early fatherhood), “I was gonna send letters to y’all - it just slipped my mind. These past few days have been a bit chaotic while getting all adjusted. Yep, this one’s mine - lil’ Lupin. He’s officially four days old, born at 10:14 in the morning at a healthy 7.6 pounds -”
“- You’re gonna have to write all that down for any of us to remember it,” Wild rolls his eyes, although it’s in good spirit as he peeks at the tiny baby with a small smile. It doesn’t take the other boys long to notice that, like Time, their Champion doesn’t seem too surprised by this situation either, looking at the newborn with only a little bit more interest than he would a cute puppy.
“I take it you knew, too, then?” Four quizzes.
“He kept hinting towards it at first until I finally gave in and asked. I didn’t know when to expect them to be here, though.”
“It’s been nine months since then,” Twilight points out teasingly, causing Wild to huff and throw his hands up in the air defensively.
“How should I know how long they take to bake! Besides, judging by the way you practically sent me a whole novel about how excited you were, I figured it was only going to be a matter of weeks, maybe a few months by that point. How in Hylia’s name did you stand to be like that for nine?”
“I barely did! It was hell having to be that patience, anyone here could tell you…but Lupin’s here now and definitely worth the wait, I’d say,” Twilight sighs dramatically, looking lovingly at his son who by now has settled peacefully in the comfort of Time’s arms, no longer squirming and fussing. To be fair, his ancestor does have quite a bit of practice juggling twins at this point. One is nothing.
“He’s a beautiful baby, that’s for sure,” Time chuckles, at last taking his eyes away from his newest family member, “You did good, cub.”
Twilight preens at his mentor’s compliment, “Isn’t he? I’ve been around other babies before, but having one of my very own…It just hits different, ya’ know? …I actually wouldn’t mind a couple more -”
“- Don’t push your luck, mister,” On cue, you appear from around the corner, tiredly rubbing your eyes yet managing a smile to greet the rest of the Chain, "You weren't the one who had to go through nine months of heartburn followed by hours of torture.”
“- Eventually. I wouldn't mind a couple more ‘eventually’,” Twilight clarifies, quick to hook his arm around your waist and pull you against himself the second you’re close enough, “Besides, you handled it like a queen.”
You roll your eyes while resting your head against his shoulder, “Flattery won’t get you anywhere different.”
“That’s not what you said nine months ago~” Twilight smirks, pressing a kiss to your forehead only to earn himself a swat against the head.
Warrior originally elected to ignore the heavy knocking at his front door which threatened his peaceful morning's silence. Whatever this kingdom demands of him, they can simply add it to his tab. He's comfortable in bed where it's warm and you're snuggled in his arms, looking as beautiful as ever with a mess of bedhead and matching dark circles under your eyes. Best of all? Your son has achieved a new record of sleeping for three straight hours - THREE!
Now, Warrior is relatively used to less-than-ideal sleep schedules as a hero and captain, so having a newborn around hasn't quite hit him with the same force as it might a typical man, but that doesn't mean either of you are going to be ungrateful towards this new parenting milestone. No, you were planning on taking full advantage of it actually, wanting nothing more than to spend a lazy morning in bed until your little monster inevitably awakes...however, it seems the universe always has other plans.
The knocking only grows more frequent and loud, drawing a groan from your fiancé who finally relents. Pushing himself out of bed, he reluctantly answers the door without much effort put into hiding his annoyed expression - that is until it naturally snaps into one of mild shock and excitement at the sight of his visitors. Instead of it being someone from the Castle or military, he's pleasantly surprised to find his old traveling companions, the other heroes of courage.
"What are you all doing here?" He suddenly doesn't feel so tired anymore, in fact he’s stricken with more life and a bright smile while gazing over the group to count each familiar face. Yep, they're all here - all eight of them. It's been so long! Well, maybe not that long. It hasn't even been a full year yet since visiting Twilight's family together, but that's still plenty of time to miss old friends.
"Well, some of us have been talking lately and we thought, why not put some time aside from our busy lives to have a little get together - just us heroes, for old times’ sake!” Wild announces enthusiastically, practically inviting himself inside, not that Warrior stops him or any of the others for that matter.
“It could be a little tradition of ours. Once a year, type of thing,” Sky explains more professionally, although he isn’t any less excited than the Champion.
"A nice boy's trip to save you from the misses," Legend rephrases, elbowing the Captain’s side with a wink while passing by.
Warrior will admit: it is an intriguing proposal - getting away from the stresses of a hero to spend quality time with brothers who understand your woes. If only the Chain had visited a few months earlier, he’d be willing to entertain such a trip, but alas, he must give them a sympathetic smile instead, “As much fun as that sounds, I’m afraid I won’t be able to join you. At least not this time around.”
Immediately, the group’s uplifted smiles drop into disappointed frowns emphasized by a chorus of dejected groans.
"You knights and all your fancy work kissing the royal family’s ass," Legend huffs, and Warrior was just about to bite back on that comment with a jab of his own, however their conversation is suddenly interrupted.
A piercing cry catches the entire Chain off guard, many of the boys looking around wildly for the possible threat while others - namely Time and Twilight - are jolted by that familiar protective instinct they know all too well of from their own home lives.
“Actually, there’s another reason,” Warrior doesn’t hide his amusement towards everyone’s reactions nor does he hide his tired sigh once realizing his free trial of peace-and-quiet has ended.
He doesn’t even make it to the doorway before you appear, already rocking the baby gently in your arms. It takes some fussing from both of you to smooth his tears, calming him down just long enough for Warrior to turn back to his friends while proudly gesturing to the newborn in your arms, “Well, allow us to introduce our son, Einar.”
From there, it takes mere seconds for the Chain to snap out of it and instantly crowd you both, each fighting to get a good look at this ‘son’ in question.
“Since when did you guys have a kid?!” Hyrule awes.
“He’s so little…He can’t be that old, right?” Sky gasps.
“Only a few weeks, I reckon,” Time observes calmly from the back, tall enough to simply gaze over the sea of shoulders and heads.
“Hey, move out of the way! I can’t see! I wanna see, too!” Wind whines, shrugging to push his way through the barrier of bodies.
Twilight, steps back from the chaos to throw a playful smirk Warrior’s way, “Here I thought you were waiting for kids.”
“Us too,” You roll your eyes.
“Life happens,” Your partner merely shrugs, not even attempting to act ashamed of himself as he accepts responsibility of holding Einar while you excuse yourself to prepare a bottle once he starts whimpering again, “But we wouldn’t trade him for the world.”
“Geeze, you’re all getting old on us,” Legend mocks, eyeing Warrior, Time, and Twilight, “Not even three years ago, the Old Man was the only one of us in a committed relationship, now all three of you are suddenly tied down with children!”
“Don’t go sounding too jealous, Vet. I’m sure you’ll have your turn someday,” Warrior smirks, resulting in the other hero sticking out his tongue in disgust.
“As if. Me? A dad? You sure the world should be subjected to that?”
“Right. You might actually be doing everyone a favor by not reproducing.”
“Oh fuck off -”
“- Shh! Not in front of the baby!”
“I, for one, wouldn’t mind being a dad one day. It seems like a lot of fun,” Sky, coos, letting little Einar play with his finger, “If you ever need a babysitter, just let me know.”
"Careful. We might end up taking you up on that offer with how little we've been sleeping lately."
"Get accustomed to it, my friend, because it doesn't go away anytime soon," Time advises with a pat to the back, failing to hide the mirth filtering his voice as the new father sighs exasperatedly.
Legend isn’t usually the type to delight himself with hosting guests, nor is he much of an initiator when it comes to any sort of social interaction, so suffice to say, the Chain was rather thrown to have received unprompted invites to visit his world and home. Why the sudden open door? He gave no explanation, leaving all of the boys guessing, although Time has a few notable theories swirling in mind.
It all goes back to months ago when Legend had unexpectedly appeared at Lon Lon Ranch, claiming to have simply ‘been in the area’, yet Time knew better than to believe that. An experienced man like himself immediately took notice of his friend’s frazzled and irritable mood, such a state of dishevelment hinting towards one thing: problems at home - problems likely relating to you, to be exact, seeing as your boyfriend was swift to avoid any mention of your name when prompted.
Realizing that prying would be ineffective against someone so notorious for his emotional barriers, Time had allowed Legend to stay with him and his family without question. He, of course, kept a close eye on the young man, trying to deduce the situation the best he could from all those frustrated grumbles while working chores and pitiful sighs as the two sat together on the back porch after dinner.
It was then that Legend had taken the moment to ask Time a rather odd question that had admittedly hung in the Old Man’s head for days afterwards along with a curious conclusion as to the true reason behind his sudden visit, however nothing more was said that night beyond some wisely woven words soaked in hidden meaning.
By morning, the veteran hero was visibly relaxed when quietly expressing his plans to return home to you. Clearly, whatever troubles that once plagued his mind had been resolved following a day of reflection and a goodnight’s sleep, so Time felt confident sending Legend back on his way with a wish of luck and an offer to return whenever needed.
Perhaps that incident and this friendly invite are unrelated, after all, it’s been months between the two, although Time can’t help but wonder, the memory of Legend’s question being of particular interest as the Chain approaches their destination.
Some of the boys share their concerns along the way, a bit unsettled by the thought of Legend wanting to see them. Warrior even suggests the possibility of their friend having gone through a bad break-up, insisting there’s logic behind his guess since losing you would be the Vet’s lowest point, the extreme heartache being enough for him to abandon all stubbornness and reach out to the Chain for moral support. Arguments deemed his theory outlandish, however when Legend opens his front door to greet them, the boys begin to worry Warrior might indeed be a good prophet…
“It took you all long enough,” He huffs, his voice worn and scratchy which really sends home his obvious lack of sleep when paired with his unkempt appearance; heavy bags under his eyes and shaggy hair that stands up on all ends, “Come in, come in…”
‘Oh Hylia!’ The Chain thinks, sorrow for their friend already sinking into their bones as they illy prepare themselves for a story of true despair. Yes, Legend can be difficult and stubborn at times, and maybe you had your reasons, but surely he couldn’t have messed up bad enough to warrant you leaving him! Hasn’t the poor guy already been through enough?
“...Hey man, you doing alright?” Warrior was just about to rip the bandage off, his hand placed supportively upon his friend’s shoulder which earned him a sleepy look that falls sort of its intended glare, however before he can get any reply -
“- BABY!” Wind’s gasp pierces ears and makes several of the others leap in their skin. Indeed, if following the youngest hero’s excited point, it'll lead to where you stand in the doorway with an amused (that be it tired) chuckle…So, you didn’t leave after all? You’re still here, looking as rough as your partner which is probably excusable since in your arms is, in fact, a new baby.
“Hello everyone. I’m glad you could all make it.”
“...Oh thank Hylia you didn’t leave him!”
“What -?” Legend raises an eyebrow at Warrior’s dramatic sigh, yet he doesn’t get much of a chance to be offended. No one would notice anyway, their attention having swiftly abandoned their dear old friend in exchange for you and the baby you introduce.
“His name is Liron,” You note, earning a chorus of awes as the sweet little bundle scrunches his tiny face in displeasure towards the disruption to his peaceful sleep; already, he looks so much like his dad.
“So this is why you invited us over, huh?” Hyrule glances back over the sea of shoulders to send Legend an amused smile, “We thought something bad might’ve happened!”
“We wanted it to be a surprise…” The Vet sighs, unable to stay mad at the group’s energy, after all they have every right to be amazed. His son is pretty damn beautiful.
“Well, I’ll be darn. You gotta kid now,” Twilight smirks, even going as far as to elbow Legend’s side which, as always, packs more strength than probably intended, “And after all that hell you gave us!”
“Yeah, yeah, karma's a bitch. Laugh it up - HEY! Wash your hands first!” Legend’s focus is immediately diverted from rubbing his sore ribs to pointing an accusing finger at Wild who’s stopped mid-reach from taking the baby you pass towards him.
"I did!" The Champion gasps in offense.
“Not here you didn’t. Do it again! Sinks in the kitchen!”
Wild grumbles, forced to forfeit his turn in holding the baby. A glare is all it takes for Hyrule to follow him shamefully as well, allowing Time to be the first to actually hold the little one since his hands successfully pass cleanliness approval. Nevertheless, despite his spotless palms and seasoned experience as a father himself, the older hero must put up with Legend's paranoid hovering which isn't too unlike a hawk's, ready to snatch back his baby at a second's notice if deeming the situation to be too ‘unsafe’. Fortunately, Time's nice enough not to mention this behavior beyond a silent smirk.
“...What went through your head when you realized you were going to be a dad?”
Now Legend’s question - as random as it had seemed those many months ago - makes complete sense. The timid whisper that spoke it, the nervous avoidance of any eye contact, and that deep, thoughtful frown while listening to Time’s honest answer - all signs that pointed towards a worried father-to-be desperate for direction as he fought to keep his own insecurities and fears at bay.
At least Time can finally rest easy knowing their past conversation did some good for his friend. The young man may be fidgeting while impatiently watching his new child be passed around the group for each to see, your gently hand upon his shoulder only doing so much to relax his anxieties. You’re also both beyond tired, fitting to Time’s warning that parenthood is by far the most difficult journey one can ever take, yet there’s a switch of softness that overtakes Legend’s expression the second your son begins to mumble his disapproval, apparently fed up with all this attention that he’s receiving.
In an instant, Legend’s there, stealing back the small infant and clumsily doing his best to smooth such sharp cries. Yes, it’s difficult and nerve wracking to become a parent, especially for the first time, but to see all of your efforts throughout the years take form into such a beautiful and amazing being of pure innocence…that’s the most rewarding adventure yet, something Legend’s clearly already beginning to realize himself.
Sky's been practically bursting at the seams all day - well, all week, to be more accurate - but today is especially special since you’re both expecting a visit from some of his closest friends, the other heroes of courage who haven’t been by Skyloft in far too long.
Seeing as their reunion has been so long overdue, it should be no surprise that your dear husband has been bubbling with eager anticipation all morning (long before the sun had even risen thanks to your shared lack of a proper sleep schedule). While he does genuinely miss his old traveling companions, a majority of his restlessness comes from wanting to share some exciting news about a recent ‘development’ in your lives, one he’s had to hold himself back from spoiling in their routine letters (which are shared far more often than in-person visits).
Before you can even process the knock at your front door, Sky is already darting across the room to answer it, matching the delighted smile worn by all the other boys. He eagerly ushers them inside, his impatience finally spilling over by this point, something he can’t help. As already mentioned, he’s been waiting for this moment for quite a while - and has dreamed about for far longer than a simple ‘while’.
You can only chuckle at how quickly you’re swarmed by curious eyes, the other heroes not hesitating to stand and kneel around your chair just to catch a glimpse of the tiny bundle you cradle. To say it took them off guard would be the understatement of a century. It completely knocked them off their feet to realize what you're holding and what Sky’s excitement has been all about!
It’s a baby - a tiny newborn with puffy cheeks and itty-bitty hands balled into fists! She doesn’t even look real, or perhaps this whole situation itself just doesn’t feel real. In the Chain’s defense, it’s been years since Sky and you announced your intentions of starting a family of your own. Unfortunately, your struggles in achieving this goal became no secret, and your friends had begun to slowly lose hope with you. They truly worried the day might never come which explains their complete awe now.
“Her name’s Azure,” You tell them, wiping away the tears that bubble in the corners of your eyes. Curse these hormones! Your daughter is already a few days old yet you still cry each time you see another’s reaction to her. Can you be blamed? It only solidifies the reality that this is, in fact, your baby. Sky and you are officially parents!
“Congratulations, man!” Warrior throws an arm over your husband’s shoulder and pulls him close into a side hug, “You’ve earned it!”
Sky shares his laughter with a shake of his head, his eyes immediately drifting to yours, “My wife deserves most of the credit. She’s the one who endured all those long and tiresome months to get little Azure here.”
“And you took amazing care of us both throughout every second,” You point out just as quickly with a gentle smile, “I couldn’t have asked for a better partner to go through this with.”
“Now we’ll have to start planning some playdates with all our kids. Let ‘em tire each other out,” Twilight points out, giving Sky’s other side a nudge with his elbow.
“Maybe being around Azure will get Hope to stop asking for a sibling for a while,” Hyrule sighs exhaustively.
“Yeah, no, that has the exact opposite effect. Trust me,” Legend huffs with crossed arms.
Wind’s hand pops out from somewhere in the back of the crowd, only seen as he eagerly tries to jump up and down to gain attention, “Oh-Oh, Tetra and I can babysit if you ever need it!”
“I didn’t think she even liked kids?”
“She ‘likes’ kids, she just doesn’t like being ‘around’ them,” Wind rolls his eyes at Legend’s comment as if the reason isn’t obvious, “But she said she’s been wanting to get better with them to practice the whole ‘being a nice princess’ thing -”
“- All of that can come later,” Time swiftly interrupts the wandering conversation, “I’m sure as new parents, these two would appreciate rest above all else for now. There’ll be plenty of time for playdates later down the line.”
“We’ll definitely set some up once Azure is old enough,” Sky chuckles in agreement before kneeling by your side to help fix the blanket around your sleeping daughter. Although there’s quite a bit of time until then, the idea of finally being able to participate in such arrangements is exciting to you both. No more standing on the sidelines feeling out of place with your hearts’ yearning. You’ll finally be able to share the joy all of your friends feel.
“You both look like happy parents. Congratulations,” You preen at Time’s compliment, looking to each other through tears in your eyes which then drop to Azure who snuggles closer to you, blissfully unaware of the effect she already has on your hearts as she merely enjoys the comfort of your loving embrace. Your most special treasure, indeed…

#2 Chain x Space Orc! Human! Reader - Body Swap
Part 2 includes Legend, Hyrule, and Twilight Part 1 ✿ Part 2 (you are here) ✿ Part 3
Duck. Dodge. Punch. Repeat.
The wizzrobe before you was growing incredibly frustrated. Most of its spells seemed to simply glance off of you with no effect. Others simply stung, leaving angry red marks where they touched your skin. You socking it in the face repeatedly probably just upset it further.
You were different from your traveling companions. Your ears were round. You had never wielded a sword. Magic seemed to have no effect on you. Oh, and you could bench press a Lynel without breaking a sweat.
Link swung his sword, slashing at the wizzrobe’s back. The thing cried out, flying up toward the ceiling of the room.
How had it gotten like this? The chain had entered the dungeon together, but now it was only you and Link. You hadn’t even seen them leave. You had been talking with Link, and when you turned around, the rest of the chain was simply. Gone.
The wizzrobe muttered something to itself in its strange language. It held its hands in front of itself, and you realized, perhaps too late, that it was chanting something. An orb of dark energy appeared between its palms. You didn’t even have time to think when it flung the spell at Link. You just knew whatever it was would be bad news if it hit him. You sprinted towards him, trying to get between him and the spell. Unfortunately, you were just a bit too slow. The energy hit your back, but you weren’t able to shield Link completely. You aren’t sure where it hit him, but right now it felt like your bones were on fire.
You screamed, falling to the floor. Behind you, the wizzrobe snickered, and you heard the damned thing teleport away. Great. Groaning, you got up. You muscles screamed at you in protest, demanding a break you couldn’t give them yet.
“Ugh, stupid wizzrobe,” you sigh before deciding to check in on your traveling partner. “You okay?”Your voice sounded weird. Had your ears popped? Man, that spell had hurt.
Legend
The room feels strangely quiet now. You look around, only to find a second you in the room with you, lying face-down on the floor nearby. Your heat jumps into your throat as they lift themselves up on their elbows. Before you can ask who they are (and why they have your face), an utterly filthy series of curses, insulting the wizzrobe, the dungeon’s architects, and the absent chain, falls from their lips.
You know exactly who that is.
“Legend?”
“Yeah?” He rubs his head. Well, your head, but you suppose it’s his for now. He hasn’t looked at you yet, but you can only assume that if he’s in your body, you must be… well.
“Try not to freak out.” Your request is met with a puzzled look, followed by another string of curses as he jumps to his feet. His hand moves to where his sword should be… only your outfit doesn’t have a sword (the flimsy Hylian metal bends in your hands). So much for not freaking out.
“Y/N???” He sputters your name, flabbergasted, then winces. “Ack. Why is the room so echo-y now?”
“What are you talking about?” You strain to listen to the room. It’s still almost eerily quiet. You can’t quite place it, but you feel an emptiness in the air. Like something is missing.
“That!” Legend clutches his ears, trying to block out the noises of the room. “Every time we talk it echoes in the room about a million times! And there’s a pounding noise that won’t stop! How can you not hear that?”
“Wait… what’s the pounding noise sound like?” You ask hesitantly. You have a sinking feeling that you already knew the answer.
“It’s kind of like… da dum… da dum… Like a drum or something.” He keeps his hands clasped tightly over his ears.
“Oh. Oh!” You realize what was missing. Why the room felt far too quiet. “You have my hearing now! You can hear my heartbeat!”
“You can hear people’s heartbeats!?” His cheeks turn the slightest shade of pink at the revelation. Unfortunately, his own voice echoes off the walls of the room, causing him to curl into himself, tightening his grip over his ears.
“Shoot. Sorry, this is gonna take some getting used to.” You pat his back. You remember how hard it was when you had first come to Hyrule. Everything seemed louder and sharper and smellier. Not to mention your strength.
“How on earth can you deal with hearing everything all the time?” Legend groans, his voice quiet in an attempt to spare his poor ears.
“Here,” you pull the bag on his back open just enough to fish around inside and grab what you need. You slip the headphones over his head, and almost immediately he relaxes. “I use these to sleep sometimes. They block out some noise, but not all of it.”
“I am never yelling at you again,” he adjusts the headphones on his head, ensuring they properly cover his ears. “This is pure torture.”
“Oh! That reminds me!” You reach into your new bag. The magical trinkets Legend carries around glitter inside. You pull out the first thing that catches your eye: a red stick with a ball on the end. You have no idea what it does. “Now that I’m not human I can use these things!”
“Hey! Those are mine!”
“You took my body, I take your junk, you hoarder!”
“Y/N!”
“>:]”
Hyrule
Your entire body is buzzing, as if you had rubbed your socks on the carpet and then touched a piece of metal. That wasn’t good. The spell had hit Hyrule, too, and he hadn’t responded to your question yet. You turn to look for him, only to come face to face with a terrified-looking copy of yourself.
“Ack!” You jump backwards, fists ready for a fight. As if responding to your panic, the static feeling intensifies. The other you scrambles to their feet and tries to grab something off their back. When their hand finds nothing but air, they pause, shooting a quizzical look over their shoulder. Then they look down at their clothes and squawk in surprise.
“Y/N?” The other you asks. Against your better judgement, you nod. “Umm… look down?”
You do as the other you asks, only to discover something horribly wrong: you’re wearing Hyrule’s clothes.
And skin.
You are Hyrule now.
“What!?” You look at the other you. “Hyrule?”
He waves sheepishly. “The spell must have swapped our bodies. Don’t worry, this kind of magic usually wears off on its own.”
“Darn it,” you slump your shoulders forward. You liked your body. Hyrule’s was pretty good, but you’d much rather look at his than be in it.
“Sorry,” he gives you an apologetic smile.
“It’s not your fault,” you drag a hand down your face. The buzzing in your veins continues. “Your body just feels weird. It’s all tingle-ly and stuff.”
“Tingle-ly?” Hyrule repeats, puzzled. Unfortunately, you don’t have time to explain further as the wizzrobe makes it’s presence known again, laughing with glee as it teleports beside you.
Without wasting a moment, you punch it, just as you had been doing before. You hand connects with its face, but this time, pain explodes out from your knuckles.
“Owwww,” you wince, holding your injured hand close to your chest. That’s right. Fragile Hylian bones.
“Hyah!” Hyrule holds his hands out towards the wizzrobe.
Nothing happens.
Suddenly, his eyes widen and he looks at his new hands with a growing sense of dread. “I can’t feel my magic at all.”
That was to be expected. Most magic didn’t seem to affect you, which also meant you couldn’t use it. Still, for Hyrule, being separated from it, even for a short period of time, must have been strange.
Wait… if he had your lack of magic… did that mean?
You snap your fingers experimentally, sticking your tongue out in concentration as you try to mimic what you’d seen Hyrule do dozens of times. A small spark of electricity dances between your fingers.
“Sick,” the smile that makes its way on your face can only be described as deranged. You turn to look at the wizzrobe, who appears to be slowly backing away from you in fear.
“Y/N?” Hyrule asks. The magic thrums in your veins, the static feeling intensifying in your hands as you call forth more electricity.
“I’ve always wanted to try this,” you giggle. Then, you chuck the ball of lighting from your hand directly at the wizzrobe. It falls to the floor in a pile.
“Woah! Careful, don’t use up all my magic!” Hyrule warns.
“Aww, but it’s so cool,” you pout. “I’m never going to be able to do this again! Can’t I have just a little fun with it?”
“...”
“Please~?”
“...Fine.”
Twilight
“I’m alright,” Twilight mumbles. His voice sounds… different. You turn your head, trying to look at him, only to get a face-full of something hairy. Your heart skips a beat as you try to attack whatever animal suddenly attached itself to your face. Your arms feel heavy and sluggish as you throw the creature to the floor. When you finally get a good look at it, you realize it’s not an animal at all. It’s a pelt. Specifically the one that Twilight is supposed to be wearing right now.
“Dang. I didn’t think my fashion choices offended you that much,” he laughs. His voice still sounds weird. You spin on your heel to face him and find, not Twilight, but yourself looking back. They smirk and wave.
“...Twilight?” You ask. You’re afraid to know the answer. When he nods, you’re only left with more questions. You decide to start with just one: “How?”
“I’m guessing the wizzrobe swapped our minds,” he shrugs, as if this were only the fifth weirdest thing he had seen that day. “Weird. I thought magic didn’t affect you.”
“Swap?” You look down. Sure enough, you’re Twilight now, complete with green tunic and weird pinecone-looking necklace full of dark magic. You reach down to pick up the cloak that you had so violently discarded a few moments ago, wrinkling your nose at the wet dog smell that greets your nose. It takes more effort than you expect to lift it. Strange. Twilight looked muscular enough. Were Hylians really that much weaker than humans? Still, it was strange that the spell had affected you at all. You try to respond to Twilight’s statement, but the smell wafting from the cloak distracts you. “Must have been a pretty powerful spell– I’m sorry, but when was the last time you washed this?”
“I washed it… recently,” he refuses to meet your gaze, and you can practically hear the sweat drip down the back of his neck. You raise an eyebrow at him.
“I’m using this as an opportunity to do your laundry. Smelling you from across camp was bad enough, but how can you live like this, man?” You pick at his tunic (well, your tunic, for now). Somehow it also smells like a wet dog. Actually, now that you think about it, maybe Twilight’s body is the thing that smells like a dog, because the scent seems to cling to you in an almost unnatural way.
“You cannot smell me from across camp,” he blushes, offended.
“Yes, I can,” you grimace, still examining your new clothing. Did he roll through a mud puddle? No, it hadn’t rained in a while. Where did all this dirt come from? “One of the perks of being a human. Sensitive nose. And ears. And eyes.”
“Huh. Now that you mention it, it does feel like when I’m in wolf form,” he sounds surprised. Oh yeah, his wolf form. Is that why his body smelled like a dog? Surely, he bathed since last transforming, right?
“Glad it’s you and not one of the others, then. Can you imagine the cow Legend would have if he could suddenly smell Wild,” you snicker. Twilight looks shocked for a moment before breaking out in laughter.
“Oh man, he’d never shut up,” he chuckles, but the expression looks alien on your face. You already miss the way his nose would scrunch up when he laughs. Hopefully this swap would be a short one.
“Maybe it’d finally make Wild bathe,” you muse.
“Unlikely.”

It started with Wild, because, really, when didn't things start with the Champion?
You yawned, stretching your arms over your head, twisting your spine just enough to ease the steady ache that had been building since the group headed out this morning.
A warm hand laid itself on your shoulder, and Twilight's country baritone rumbled in your ear as he joined you by the grove. Time had called for a rest a few minutes ago, leaving you temporarily unoccupied. "Tired, darl'?"
You turned to face him, hands resting on the curve of your hips, grin threatening to split your face. It was always a pleasure to talk to him, not that you were going to admit it. "Not on your life, Rancher."
He laughed, a rumbling sound that rolled through the air like thunder, and patted you with a gentleness you'd sworn you'd only seen the Ordon goats receive. "Jus' don't wear ya'self out, you hear? Not that 'm opposed ta carryin'--"
"First of all, rude," you stuck your tongue at him, moving your arms to cross over your chest. "And second of all, I've got legs, you know."
Twilight's eyes sparkled and you immediately cursed every choice that had led you up to giving him ammunition for those Hylia-awful dad jokes. "Ah might've noticed; here 'n Ordon we've got these helpful things called eyes."
"Har har," you rolled your aforementioned eyes, reaching over to flick his chest. "Now that you've got that out of your system, what's happened?"
"Wha'? Ya think ah need a reason ta spend a little time wit' my favorite person?" the Rancher joked good-naturedly, throwing in a wink. You snorted and tried not to think about how smooth the action was. After a moment, he acquiesced with a huff: "Ah'right, ah'right, 's Wild."
"...Oh no?"
"'S more than that, darl', ah'm just 'ere to warn ya 'bout supper."
"No," you breathed, trying and failing to hide your terror. "Don't tell me...?"
"'Fraid 's true," Twilight said sadly, and you were sure he'd be holding his hat to his chest if not for the fact that he didn't have one. "Ah tried ta warn 'im 'bout that spice, but he's goin' straight fer that Goron--"
"Let me guess, we're having chili tonight?" You asked with budding despair.
The Rancher's gaze was sympathetic, though you weren't sure if it was for you, him, or your combined tastebuds. "...How'd ya know?"
You groaned.

Epona noticed it first.
She was a good horse; kind and gentle, with a sassy streak that made her all the more lovable. Unfortunately, she didn't seem so lovable now, but you supposed the fact that her hooves were currently inches from your face was a pretty good cuteness-dampener. Your hands fisted her reigns as you desperately tried to calm her, but she continued to rear, forelegs kicking, stark mane tossing in the breeze like a flag caught in a hurricane.
“Hey–!”
Something wrapped around your waist, and you were yanked back into a very familiar chest. Twilight’s arm tightened, keeping you close as Warriors closed in to reclaim the mare’s reins, trying to coax her back to Earth. You hadn’t the faintest clue what could have made her act like this–the only thing ahead was a bridge, for Hylia’s sake!
Warm, frantic breath fanned over your ears. “Ya alright, darlin’?”
“Y-Yeah,” you stuttered, heart hammering in your chest as you struggled to regain control of yourself. Even through the multiple layers, the Rancher was unnaturally warm, and you shivered as choppy waves of heat soaked into your back.
Twilight, mistaking your shiver for one of fear, made a soft noise and patted your head.
“Yer ah’right, ah promise– jus’ keep breathin’,” he coaxed, and it was with no small measure of surprise that your body seemed to obey, if the sudden influx of oxygen in your lungs was anything to go by. “Ah’ve got ya, sweetheart.”
If you weren’t burning before, you sure as hell were now. It was only when Warriors managed to calm Epona were you released from the Rancher’s embrace, red-cheeked and quick to put some much-needed distance between the two of you. The others were quick to crowd in, each voicing their personal thoughts on the insanity that had just occurred.
“The hell was that, Rancher?”
“Ah’ve got no idea, she ain’t usually…” he turned his gaze to the bridge, suddenly thoughtful. “...could be somethin’ ta do with that bridge up ahead.”
“...It does look old,” Hyrule added, rocking slightly on his heels before laying a hand on your shoulder, asking in a significantly quieter tone: “Are you alright?”
You nodded quickly, the interaction giving you the courage to clear your throat of any residual scratchiness. “We could try going in pairs? So we don’t overload it?”
“I like that idea,” Sky nodded along, already looking around for someone to drag along with him. He eventually locked arms with Wind, who was all but bouncing over to the bridge. “We’ll go first.”
“Yeah!”
You waited with bated breath as the two heroes ambled over the creaking wood, half expecting it to simply break from force of premonition again. Fortunately, they made it across without any problems, and the rest of the group was allowed a sigh of relief. Four and Hyrule went next, crossing the bridge in a similarly cautious fashion, with the Smithy looking particularly relieved when his feet touched the rocky ground.
There was movement on your left side, and you turned your gaze to study Twilight’s offered arm. The Rancher grinned when you took it, eyes crinkling at the corners. “Third time’s tha’ charm, right?”
“Don’t jinx it,” you teased, letting him lead you to the rickety thing. A thick sensation settled in your stomach as soon as the toe of your boot bumped solid wood, but you ignored it. The others had made it across safely, so what about this was different. You just had to breathe, and pretend you weren’t walking arm-in-arm with your months-long crush. Easy peasy, right? Right.
Your foot settled fully on the planks. The bridge shuddered. You felt Twilight’s grip on you tighten.
“I’m fine,” you whispered, a bit unsure of whether it was him or yourself. Maybe both; maybe neither. Either way, there was birch beneath your boots and a thick lump in your chest, threatening to rattle through your esophagus at the slightest sign of danger.
Everything was fine.
Crack.
Until it wasn’t.
You didn't have a name for what happened next, only that it was accompanied by the inexplicable feeling of falling. You remembered the terror, the screaming–because no one liked falling–and the dreaded moment you realized there was water in your mouth, hair, nose, eyes, shaping the world into a black-light abyss that cradled and swallowed you in equal, terrible measures.
There was a yell. It was far away, and so were you, though it didn’t stop your eyes from forcing open, droplets of salt joining the ever-rushing waters of the river. Your body twisted in the swift current, like a marionette on silver strings or a ragdoll that had been pitched from a cliff. Something bubbled from the depths of your chest, erupting in a series of terrified burbles that did little but bounce to the shifting surface.
Don’t fight, your mind whispered, eerily calm despite the fact that your life was flashing before your waterlogged eyes. You remembered learning to swim, and the resulting lecture about rip currents when your parents realized you were too curious for your own good. The current. Sideways. Don’t fight.
Your arms clawed at the water, fingers pressed together in an attempt to form makeshift paddles. Above–or was it below?–you, the surface winked like a smug mother or certain errant rancher. If you could just–
As if sensing your intention, the world inexplicably flipped, sending you spiraling into the depths. You cried out, then bit down, and, suddenly, murky water wasn’t the only liquid in your mouth, the sharp bite of copper now taking precedence over overworked taste buds. Fuck, fuck, fuck!
The surface was gone, replaced by an inky blackness that had every nerve in your body positively screaming. Hell, you could be screaming. Who even knew at this point? Plus, your chest hurt, and you were starting to realize that not all the darkness was due to the water. You tried to lift your arms, but they refused to move, pinned to your heaving sides by the raging current.
Your mouth opened for a final, desperate cry. The terrifying world tilted once more, sending you deeper into the abyss. It was cold. Frigid. Soul-sucking.
You crumbled at the same moment a hand seized your wrist.

Drowning, you discovered first, was a dry experience.
Alternatively: coughing, you discovered second, was a horrifyingly wet experience. It began with a shuddering of the lungs, accompanied by a swift rattling of cracked ribs, and, suddenly, you were on your side, hacking like a maniac as water spewed from the depths of your body, splattering all over the chilled ground–
“–arlin’!”
–Wait.
Your vision was a mess of colors by the time you decided to force your eyelids open, squinting at the blurry, half-tan, half-green mass before you. A straggly wheeze escaped your lips, a dreaded remnant of the coughing fit, and you let your eyes squeeze shut once more. Something was shaking you, and you had half a mind to cuss them out for doing so.
The shaking persisted, as did the voice.
Something pressed to the side of your neck, probing the damp flesh. Two fingers, your exhausted brain guessed. Large. Thick. You would have killed to have those inside you.
“–n’t ya dare die on me, ya hear!”
Why… why did that sound familiar? The voice sounded male, and you could have recognized that country drawl anywhere–
You were rolled onto your back. The fingers at your neck moved to your nose, pinching your nostrils together–you would have gasped in outrage if you could–and another hand slid between your lips, tugging your jaw ajar. You tasted murky water, leather, and a smattering of coppery blood.
–Twilight!
Your eyes snapped open just as the Rancher’s mouth slotted over your own.
Time seemed to grind to a halt when a puff of warm air invaded your throat, slicing through your throat until it reached your lungs, making you feel more like an inflated balloon than a waterlogged rat of a human. He did it again, and your hands found his chest, administering a surprisingly powerful shove.
The hero was off you in less than a second, and it didn’t take a genius to register the flush atop tanned, tattooed cheeks. You found yourself coughing once more, chest heaving as your body worked to force out every last drop of water. Dying, it seemed, was a terribly exhausting endeavor, seeing as you didn’t even have the strength to resist as Twilight moved you to your side once more, a large, warm palm patting your back with just enough strength to push the last dregs of river water onto the now-soaked ground where they belonged.
“Jus’ keep coughing,” you could hear him a lot better now, likely because of the sheer adrenaline his previous action had sent rushing through your overworked veins. He said your name; once, twice, and it was all you needed to gasp a behemoth of a breath. “Get it all out, darlin’.”
And so you did, until there was nothing left to hack up but your own spit and the congealed blood from your bitten tongue. Everything ached, and it felt like an eternity before you were once again maneuvered to your back. The hand previously on your spine moved to brush strands of hair from your face.
Your eyes cracked open.
Above you, Twilight looked positively horrified. His hair was a mess, sticking every which way as it dripped water onto his cheeks. Your heart twisted at the sight of a bruise marring his collarbone, not to mention the nasty-looking scrape on his jawline. Fuck, he looked every bit as rough as you felt.
A weak smile tugged at your lips.
“I thought…” your voice was scrap-y at best, and downright pitiful at worst, but you were grateful that you could speak at all. “...we agreed… not to jinx it.”
The Hero of Twilight, defeater of Ganondorf and protector of Hyrule, burst into tears.

A gust of chilled wind swept through the cave as Twilight carefully set you on the stone floor. After nearly soaking you all over again with his tears, he had gone in search of shelter, not taking ‘no’ for an answer when you protested being carried like a limp maiden. By all accounts, he had suffered the same as you, but this was the Rancher, so you eventually sucked it up when the ache in your throat became unbearable. Despite your weak protests, it wasn’t hard to find a place to hunker down when the area turned out to be a veritable smorgasbord of caves.
When he turned to face the vine-covered entrance, likely to search for firewood, you found it in you to interject. “Twi…”
He was at your side in an instant, hands on your shoulders in a manner that would have made you blush mere hours ago. “Wha’s wrong? Ya in pain? Tired?”
You tried not to wince, you really did. Unfortunately, your companion took that as a sign of maximum agony, and fingers prodded your pulse once more as his other hand coaxed you to lay against the floor, making sure the hood of his cloak was pillowed beneath your head. It was another action he hadn’t taken ‘no’ for an answer with, though you were less inclined to argue when it was wrapped snugly around your shivering shoulders, still encased in the clothes he pulled you out of the river in. “Ah don’t have any fairies on me, but ah can–”
His rant was cut short when you grabbed his wrist, channeling all your energy into the action because, damnit, he was injured too! “Stop,” you croaked, loud enough that it rang through the cave, reverberating thickly against the damp stone walls, and, in a far quieter tone: “Breathe.”
By some miracle, he actually did. The hands left you in an instant, though you suspected it didn’t do much judging by how his shoulders continued to shake. Fuck. Ignoring any mumbled protests, you sat up, leaning against the wall with a determined expression. You could do this, you could help.
“You need to rest,” you said, voice not quite as harsh now that you were actually using it. Your gaze swept over his clothes, taking note of just how wet he looked. “...You’re going to freeze.”
Twilight looked down at himself, then back at you. You waited for the gears in his head to finish turning. “So are ya…”
For Hylia’s sake…
“Take your tunic off.”
“Darlin’–”
Your eye twitched. You would not let him die because he was scared of being naked in front of you. Fuck your crush, because he was your friend first. “Take it off or I’ll do it for you, Link.”
The Hero of Twilight gulped, but the Hero of Twilight was also a smart man, so the tunic was off in less than a minute, revealing a frankly delicious chest you had seen many a time. Not that you were weird about it, but there were only so many shirtless-woodcutter incidents you could handle before gazes began to dip.
“Thanks,” you told him, hands worrying the hem of your own tunic. If you wanted any chance of surviving the night, it would have to go, so you steeled yourself and began to lift, only to pause when Twilight flushed and very obviously turned away. “...Are you kidding me?”
“Don’t mind me, ‘m just protectin’ tha’… perimeter.”
It was a miracle unto itself that you didn’t roll your eyes. Until you realized that your newly-discovered noodle arms were not all equipped to handle the task that was getting your own tunic past the swell of your chest. Fuck.
“...Twilight?”
His ears perked, though he didn’t turn around. “...Yes?”
“I need help.”
The defined muscles in his back tensed, and you were pretty sure the flush had expanded to his shoulders, but he turned regardless, wearing an expression that could only be described as bashful. Calloused hands found the hem of your tunic from where it was bunched at the beginnings of your ribs. “Can ah…?”
“Yeah,” you whispered, and he waited no longer, gently tugging the tunic up and over your head, leaving you in nothing but a few paltry lengths of bandages around your chest. Your nipples were stiff from the chill, and the way the Rancher paused informed you that you weren’t the only one to notice. Your mind raced, but not with the urge to cover yourself.
Coughing, Twilight took both tunics and moved to lay them in the center of the cave to dry. While he worked, your hands found the hem of your pants, which were also soaked, shucking them off in a move that you suspected would have taken any man out. Your underwear went next, hastily in the right leg of the shed pants, and you used the last of your strength to wrap the pelt around you in a manner that preserved both modesty and sanity.
Wordlessly, the Hero of Twilight grabbed your waterlogged pants, laying them out in a similar fashion. He didn’t comment on the suspicious bulge in the right pant leg. When he was finished, you decided to act once more.
“Come here, Rancher.”
Stormy blues regarded you from over a toned shoulder. Twilight only hesitated a moment before shuffling to lean against the wall, tossing a chaste arm over your shoulders and pulling you against his size. He had chosen to remain in his trousers, likely to maintain some dignity, and, while you understood, a small part of you couldn’t help but feel disappointed.
A beat passed. It was awkward, but the whole situation was awkward. Life was awkward.
You shifted in a half-hearted attempt to gain some friction. “Are you warm?”
“...Mhm,” he hummed. There was a shiver. Your eyes narrowed.
“Liar.”
You were in his lap before he could defend himself, tastefully ignoring the surprised noise that escaped him. Without a word, you pressed your chest against Twilight’s, making sure the pelt was still obscuring your form, and buried your face in his neck. There was no way in hell you were going to stand by and watch him suffer, no siree.
For a moment, it was as if the world had simply ceased to exist, and you were the only two people alive, nestled among the simple comforts of Mother Nature. For a moment, neither one of you resembled a waterlogged animal, half-drowned and all-exhausted. For a moment, you could pretend that he loved you as much as you loved him.
“It’s going to be okay,” you told him in all your squeaky-voice glory.
There were hands on your mid-back, pressing you against his furnace of a chest. This time, you leaned into the warmth. “Yer trembling.”
You didn’t miss a beat. “So are you.”
“...Ah need ya ta stop bein’ right, darlin’.”
It was a Hylia-damned miracle that you found the energy to chuckle, turning your head to giggle in his ear. “That was dumb.”
A hearty pat to the spine was his response. “Yer laughin’.”
He had you there.
Another gust of wind thundered into the cave. You huddled close, praying to whatever deity was listening that your clothes would be dry by the time this bullshit was over. “Shit, I’m about to freeze my tits off–”
His breath hitched, but you were far too focused on regaining warmth to notice. Your hips rocked slightly as you pushed a bit closer, only to bump against something ha–
Oh. Oh shit.
Your eyes snapped open, and you resisted the urge to throw yourself back from sheer force of shock alone. Was that–? Your hips twitched again and, lord, it was exactly what you thought it was. A pulse of heat warmed your belly when Twilight’s hands tightened around your back, fingers stiff and tense.
Well, fuck.
What in Hylia were you supposed to do now?! Tell him? Run away? Pull that monster out of his pants and get warm in a real way– No! Bad thoughts!!
Despite your… feelings, Twilight–Link–was your friend, and that would always come first. Even if you had to bite your lip and pretend his clothed dick wasn’t pressed in the crease where your bare thigh met your even barer core. By Hylia, you could get through this. You would get through this.
There were hands on your mid-back. There were hands– shit, there were hands on the small of your back now! A shuddering breath tore from your lips, and you turned your head to the side in an attempt to regain some sanity. “Twilight…”
The hands immediately shot up, and you wanted to scream in frustration. The Rancher’s voice was tinged with apprehension as he shifted, though it did nothing to help the situation. “‘M sorry, darl’, ah don’t know what came–”
“No, no, no, you’re fine,” you said quickly, feeling a bit frantic yourself. Your core felt warm, and you tried not to perceive the budding wetness between your thighs. “I’m just cold and, uh, you’re warm. Really warm.”
You could practically hear him bluescreen from here. “Ah… happy ta help…”
Twilight’s bulge throbbed against you.
You chewed your lip. The Rancher sucked in a breath.
“...Do you need help?”
It was as if time had frozen. Twilight’s entire body jerked, and you could all but feel his gaze burning holes into you, though it was a bit hard to tell when you had your face buried between his neck and shoulder. Should you not have asked? Was he going to hate–
“Ya don’t…” his voice was husky, tinged with an emotion that had your thighs begging to clench together. He said your name, just once, and continued: “Ya don’t know what yer askin’.”
Your breath caught in your throat. His cock twitched through his pants. You were going to hell.
But you already knew that, didn’t you? In a move that would have given your mother an aneurism, you brought your face to the column of his neck, letting your lips brush against the trembling skin, all the while adjusting your hips so his erection was nestled snugly against the burning heat of your core.
“Maybe,” you murmured against his Adam's apple. It bobbed, and you allowed yourself the ghost of a grin; hook, line, sinker. “But I can learn.”
A low sound filtered from Twilight’s chest, gravelly enough that you could have mistaken it for a growl had you not known it was him. Your name rolled off his tongue once more, accompanied by a gentle hand on your hip. He didn’t squeeze, simply feeling the weight of your flesh against his palm, and you took the opportunity to sit up fully, hands flat on his shoulders, thumbs tracing gentle circles on bared flesh.
“Twi,” you paused, wondering how much more impactful this little pocket of time could be. “Link.”
There it was, the shudder you had only imagined in your deepest, darkest dreams. Like a miniature earthquake, rattling your nerves with blessed friction. “Ah ain’t gonna make ya do anythin’ ya don’t want to,” he told you; eyes soft, tone softer. Every syllable was a promise, a chance to break free and contemplate your life choices, and it was a sorry shame you would never take it.
You drew in a breath, filling your burning lungs once more. The pressure ached, but so did your belly, your core, your heart. Everything hurt when you were so close, yet so far. “So don’t.”
Then, you kissed him.
The first kiss was awkward–as most tended to be–and you were rather inclined to call it more a consensual collision of lips and teeth and tongue than anything else. Twilight kissed like the world would end if even the slightest modicum of space appeared between the two of you, gripping your hip in one large hand while the other slid to your jawline, tracing your skin in the same manner in which his tongue slicked against your lips. The second was less so, after a minute-long break to catch your nearly nonexistent breath, and you were beginning to understand why
The third was a revelation of wandering hands down a toned, heaving chest and the tender joining of people who may as well have been lovers. The fourth; a returning slide of fingertips against your chest, stopping to press against your pebbled nipple, unblinking cobalt eyes watching the skin dimple beneath a firm touch.
His name–the true one, the one that began with a rolling syllable, and ended far too quickly–fell from your lips, swallowed in the heady press of flesh and puffed breaths. You had no doubt that he heard you, from the rumbled rendition of your own name flitting into your ears, but all thoughts scattered when that clever thumb meandered across your breast, returning each time to stroke the waiting, silky nipple in a manner that made holding back your moans feel like a herculean task. Your back arched, pushing yourself impossibly closer, but no move was made to take further advantage of the situation, and it was with astonishing clarity that you realized Twilight wasn’t going to push you further. The beast in his head may have wanted, but the hero in his chest would never take.
“Link,” you panted, squeezing the flesh of his shoulders as the pelt slid down your back, revealing the arched, goosebumped expanse of your back for all to see. You were simultaneously freezing and burning, trapped in a torturous circle of polar opposites, hips rolling just enough to slide a few inches along the side of his contained length. It was so large, hot, and you were distinctly aware that it would likely take more than a few tries to fit that monster within you, but, damnit, did you relish a challenge.
His thumb moved to trace down the knobby joints of your spine. “Tell me what ya need,” he murmured; unhurried, yet so fucking desperate. You could see it in the sheen of those storm-blue eyes, the glistening beads of sweat gathering at the fridge of his hairline, and the way his fingers twitched against your skin.
Wetness pooled between your legs, undoubtedly soaking the fabric of his pants. You didn’t care, and you suspected that he didn’t either. “I need you,” the words puffed from your mouth like clouds, hanging in their air until they shattered into a million meaningful fragments. Your hips rocked. He hissed. “Please.”
The world tilted on its axis as your body was maneuvered to lay on the ground, the sharp edges padded by the soft expanse of his pelt. You let yourself fall–allowed tender hands to guide your legs where they belonged: a loose, gentle clasp around his waist–and you let yourself stare when he leaned down, down, down to press a smooch to your damp hairline, then another on the bridge of your nose, all the while your gaze roamed the tousled, wild mane he called hair, the blood-flushed skin, and the darkened patches littering his chest and neck where the river nearly sent you both to meet your maker.
When your hips made to roll, he stopped them, lips brushing the perked shell of your ear. “Not yet,” said Twilight in a tone that both soothed and stoked your desire. His back bumped up a few inches, creating plenty of room for a hand to slip against your thigh, feeling the way your muscles corded beneath a mere brush. When you whined, he hushed you: “Ah gotcha, darlin’. Jus’ relax.”
Relax?! How were you supposed to relax when–
A finger probed your folds with all the care in the damn world, simply stroking the skin for a few small eternities before even daring to dip into shimmering wetness. Nary a breath was heard as the appendage became one with you, and, when your hips squirmed for more, it became two, administering a gentle stretch that had more than your walls clenching.
–oh.
You hardly registered his voice until it boomed above you, a cacophony of hushes and praise that would have made anyone tear up. Maybe you were tearing up. Who knew anymore, when all that mattered was the hand between your thighs and the desperate, lovesick burble of your heart. Please, you wanted to whisper, say you love me.
When a thumb grazed your clit, your hips nearly lifted off the pelt, a tepid gasp clawing from the depths of your throat. Twilight leaned in to press the start of many open-mouthed kisses to your throat, trying to distract you as his fingers scissored away, coaxing your gummy walls with a purpose. Are his eyes glowing or is that just you?
Twilight was a natural, and a damn quick study. Seconds felt like an eternity when his fingers curled, brushing up against a spot within you that had you practically wailing to the unforgiving ceiling, stars swirling in your vision like flickers of the Goddess herself. A whimper moan tore from your throat, hands flying to claw lines down his shoulders, and he did it again, again, again, again until your belly was reduced to a roaring wildfire, so bright and burning that it threatened to swallow you whole.
“Tha’s it,” said the hero; your hero, tone rimmed with desire, seasoned with a kind of desperation that had your heart clenching in your chest. “Jus’ let go. Ah’ll catch ya.”
So you did; vision white, throat screaming. Everything blackened, then lightened, pulsing with the pleasure shooting through every nook and cranny of your body. You jerked like you were dying, but he held you steady. The Hero of Twilight caught you, all while keeping a delicious rhythm that coaxed every muscle to clench in brilliant sync.
For a moment, you couldn’t breathe. For a moment, being with him felt like drowning–the good kind, the kind that made you wrap your arms around his thick neck and bring your lips together in one swift motion. His fingers left your body with a lewd pop, practically dripping with slick. Your mouth all but fell open when he sat on his haunches, made frankly intoxicating eye contact, and licked the digits in a motion that was far too smooth to not have been practiced.
A chilled gust swept through the vines. A bare-chested Twilight shivered. He didn’t speak, but he didn’t have to. You beckoned him with a hand, shooting a swift glance to the growing wet spot in his trousers, and scooted to make room on the pelt.
He was at your side in a heartbeat, wrapping your form in a tight embrace; chests pressed together, hips wishing they were. The heat from his body soaked into your skin, creating a makeshift barrier against the elements. Your heart skipped a beat when his erection brushed your belly.
It wasn’t the best idea you’d had, nor was it the worst, but you had no time for semantics when you brought a hand to the Rancher’s abdomen, purposefully dragging your fingers over his skin as you let it dip further, only stopping when your fingertips bumped his waistband. “Is this okay?” you murmured softly, not wanting to push him.
He looked baffled that you felt the need to ask. “Darlin’, after everythin’ we just did–”
Twilight cut himself off with a gasp, then a moan as you slid your hand into his pants, taking the length of him in a soft, exploratory grip. His cheeks blushed crimson, contrasting beautifully with the obsidian design marking his cheekbones and forehead, and you felt him throb. Fuck.
Thighs pressing together, you began to stroke, running your fingers over firm, spongy flesh until his hips bucked. Your other hand loosened the tie keeping his trousers secure, and the Rancher’s groan was nothing short of relieved when you finally freed his aching cock. It jutted proudly from his pelvis, the shiny head flushed a deep, cherry red. You had half a mind to scoot down and take him in your throat, but you knew the hero in him would never let that fly after everything that had happened.
With that in mind, you settled for pumping his length at a steady pace, thumbing over the head to smear the glossy burbles of fluid leaking from the tip. Twilight breathed your name like a prayer, and his hips rocked softly, pressing more firmly into your touch. He was enjoying this, and the thought alone filled you with more warmth than you knew what to do with.
After a few dragging moments, he brought his hand to cover yours, temporarily halting your movements. Confused, your gaze met his, eyebrows raised–had you done something? Did he not want to continue?–but the hero merely smiled, moving your hand even lower until it no longer lay between his dick and your core. The tip flopped between your thighs, pulsing against where your clit peeked from between your folds. Twilight’s eyes never left yours as he moved to hold your hip in a gentle grip.
“...Do ya have any idea what ya do ta me?”
You swallowed. You hoped your grin wasn’t too sheepish. “Hopefully nothing bad.”
The hand on your hip slid to grasp the back of your thigh, positioning it over the curve of his hip, further opening you up to his hungry gaze. You let it happen; hell, you even moaned a bit when the swollen head slipped lower, just barely parting your lower lips as it slid, hot and heavy, against your weeping entrance.
“Ya could never.”
Twilight kissed your forehead. A puff of breath fanned over your sweat-slick skin.
Then, he pushed.
Your eyes flew open the second the head breached you, a sharp gasp tearing from your throat. It wasn’t painful, per se, but there was definitely a stretch, and you were eternally grateful when he paused, quietly letting you adjust. A warm palm stroked the flesh of your thigh and there were lips on the column of your neck, lapping at sweat-slick skin with purpose. His hips gave the smallest of rocks, sending your nerves skittering as another inch slipped inside your cunt.
“Link…” you whimpered; like a promise, or a prayer. Maybe both.
His mouth popped off your neck with a soft noise, head lifting to plant more kisses on the apples of your cheeks. “Yer okay,” he soothed, holding you as close as possible without making things uncomfortable. You appreciated the contact, smiling softly at his attempts to distract you. It was freezing outside, but you didn’t think you had felt this alive in years. “Ah’ve got ya.”
“I know,” was your response, quiet as the night. “I love you.”
Twilight’s hips jerked. You moan-screamed as he pushed in the rest of the way and filled you fully, bodies pressed together in all the right ways.
“Ah– shit, darlin’! ‘M sorry,” he apologized quickly, looking rather mortified at the turn of events. You had to tighten your leg around his hip to keep him from sitting up and performing yet another wellness check because, goddamnit, you were an adult and you could have sex after almost dying if you damn well pleased! “Ah didn’t– I love ya too– does it hurt??”
Without waiting for him to continue, you reached up, grabbed his face, and practically smashed your mouths together. Twilight’s reaction was instantaneous, tongue sliding against your own in a manner that had you clenching like a vice around his length, drawing another moan from the depths of his chest. One of his hands trailed down to palm your breast, flicking your nipple with purpose until you separated, to which he bent to capture that very same nipple between plush, kiss-swollen lips. Your head fell back against the pelt, back arching in an attempt to bring yourself impossibly closer, a broken rendition of his name rolling off your tongue.
Twilight shuddered as you spoke his name, eagerly sucking and nipping at the stiff peak. A particularly harsh suckle had you whimpering, leg tightening around his hip, and he gave a short, gentle thrust that had you seeing stars. He repeated the motion once, eyes training on your face from his position at your breast, then twice, until a steady rhythm began to take shape. It was too much and not enough, you thought as you gripped the back of his head tightly, moans and whimpers spilling from your mouth like the water you coughed up earlier.
His mouth moved to your other nipple, giving it the same mind-numbing treatment, and it took everything in you not to shriek when a particularly deep thrust sent waves of pleasure skittering up your spine like spiders. “Link!” you called, if only to use your tongue for something other than wailing as he drilled in and out of you.
The Rancher’s ears perked. He tentatively repeated the action, watching intently as your mouth fell open. “H-Here?”
You nodded quickly, eyes squeezed shut when he angled his hips to do it again, again, again, and again until you hadn’t the faintest clue which way was up. A slew of praises left his mouth, which eventually dipped to suckly at your neck once more. It felt like an eternity before the hand on your breast slid down down down to thumb the sensitive nub of your clit, borderline growling when you whimpered and clenched down on the cock within you. You didn’t care anymore, not when you were like this, pressed so close that you could feel his heartbeat in your very soul, and it showed from the way the scream of his name bounced off the cave walls, ricocheting through the space like a cannon.
A tightness formed in your belly, growing with each delicious stroke of his hips. The thumb padding soft circles on your clit didn’t help in the slightest, and you could feel yourself drawing closer and closer as the seconds ticked by. Your fingers, still tangled in the mess that was his hair, twitched as the pleasure ramped higher and higher, until–
“C’mon, d-darlin’,” oh god, oh fuck, you were not going to last if he kept talking like that. “Cum fer me, I want ta–fuck–feel ya. I love ya so much–”
Without warning, the coil snapped. You screamed your release to the stone, and the sky, and the vines, twisting and turning like you were being burned, vision whiting and thoughts scattering like a thousand sparking stars. Somewhere nearby, there was a god-to-honest growl, though you lacked the brainpower to fully comprehend anything but the sensations skittering through every single nook and cranny of your exhausted body.
Twilight fucked you through your orgasm, abandoning all other efforts in favor of thrusting into you like an animal, his balls smacking against the bottom of your ass with each fierce jerk of his hips, leaving you helpless to do anything but cling to him and pray to whatever deity was watching for survival. Just as overstimulation began to set in, he stilled, face buried in the curve of your neck as his length gave an almost violent twitch. You stiffened when the first splash of liquid hit your insides, not expecting the sudden warmth, but he kept you close, and you eventually relaxed, all but collapsing onto the pelt to catch your breath. The sound of harsh panting told you that the hero was doing the same, and the two of you just… laid there. Thinking, breathing, perhaps wondering what the hell this made you two now.
“...Are you okay?” you whispered once your heart rate had returned to a somewhat calm level.
“I love ya,” was his response; exhausted, but sweet. A pair of arms wrapped around your back, and the Rancher pressed the softest kiss to your lips. “More than anythin’.”
“I know,” was the last thing you said before the world went comfortingly black.

My first commission!! I'm really proud of this one (6k words can you believe it??!!) and I hope you all love it as much as I do <3

Nothing big, but just a little late treat for Valentine's Day!
An Early Suprise
(Twilight x Reader)
Someone was shaking your shoulders, calling out your name quietly as you slowly woke up. Your eyes, still heavy with sleep, slowly cracked open, blinking a few times till you could keep them open long enough for your vision to focus properly. The room was still dark but you could just barely make out Twilight’s form knelt down beside you. He was already dressed in his typical attire, sword and shield strapped to his back like he was getting ready to head out. His hand brushed away the hair that stuck to your face, a warm, almost apologetic smile as you leaned up on your elbows.
“Rancher? Wha..what time is it?” Everyone that you could see was still asleep. Including your bed mate Hyrule, who was currently flat on their back with an arm tossed over his face.
“Early. But come on, there's something I wanna show ya!” He grabbed your hand, helping you to your feet without disturbing Hyrule. The wood floors of the Inn creaked under your weight, making you both anxiously look to see if anyone had woken up. With the all clear, Twilight leaned down and grabbed your boots while you threw your tunic on, leaving your bag and sword by the small side table. Twilight grabbed your hand, quietly leading you out of the open room and away from your other sleeping companions.
The salty breeze pricked at your skin, freshly exposed to the open sea air. The shores of Lurelin village were quiet, the rolling waves hitting against the shore while the torches crackled with the dying flames of their once bright fires. Just like you had predicted, the sun was still nowhere to be seen. Leaving only the moon and the stars to dot across the sky, reflecting like diamonds in the oceans still waters.
Twilight handed you your boots, leaving you to put them on while he jogged over to where Epona was sleeping behind the boat-like building of the Inn WIld had secured for the night.
“Going somewhere?” You asked curiously, already wiping away the sand from your feet before slipping on your boots. Watching curiously as he secured the saddle onto the horse, and guided her over by the reigns.
“Only if you’ll come along darlin’” He reached out his hand, silently offering it to you.
“Wait seriously? All my stuff is inside!”
“It's fine, I got my stuff just in case.” He assured you. You looked back at the Inn, contemplating going to at least grab your sword. You also wondered if you should tell someone or atleast leave some sort of note-
“Don't worry,” Twilight interrupted, sliding his hand in yours. “I already cleared it with the Old Man, they ain't gonna think twice ‘bout us bein gone.”
You sighed, “Alright alright fine. But seriously where are we even going?”
Twilight couldn't hide the smile on his face as he handed you his sword and shield, hopping up onto Epona. He let himself get settled before he reached down and helped you up behind him. “You’ll see”
“Seriously wolf boy?” You deadpanned, but lightly held onto him as he guided Epona away from the Inn. “You're kidnapping me at the ass crack of dawn and not even gonna let me know where we're going?”
“Pretty sure it ain't kidnappin if ya come willin’ly”
Once through the little archway of the village he gave the reins a small snap. Epona picked up speed, trotting along the trail you had come through just yesterday, leaving the quaint oceanside village far behind you.
“Fine, I suppose you win that one. But can you at least tell me how far away this thing is?”
“Wild said ‘bout an hour.”
“So more like two?”
Twilight laughed, the force of which you could feel as you pressed into his back. You smirked to yourself, letting yourself rest your head against his back. Arms coming to wrap around his waist. He softly placed one of his hands over yours, his thumb caressing the skin between your thumb and index finger.
“Most likely, though this is his era so maybe he can better judge distances here.”
You merely hummed a response, clinging to him a bit tighter as a yawn worked its way out of you. Twilight releases your hand, giving your thigh a small pat. “I can let ya know when we're there if yer tired.”
You nodded, feeling your eyes getting heavy again as your head rocked in time with Epona's steady pace. Twilight's warmth wrapping around you as you buried your arms under the soft pelt you were using as a makeshift pillow.
___________
You had t realized you nodded off until Twilight, for the second time that morning, was shaking your shoulder. Waking up this time around came much more easily since the world was a bit lighter, the signs of the sun just beginning to poke its head out over the horizon, and the air began to feel warmer. Though the warmth might be more attributed to the black pel draped over your shoulders. You huddled into it, letting Twilight help you down from Epona.
You surveyed the area while Twilight unloaded a bag from the saddle. The path you were on was steep, the trail's edge dropping off only a foot or two away from you. You were on some sort of mountain, or at the very least a really big hill given how high up you were.
“It should be just up here,” Twilight called out from where he was climbing over a rocky ledge. You quickly made your way over, grabbing his arm as he hauled you up.
It was the flowers that caught your attention first. The array of blue petals, broken up with handfuls of white or yellow as they bordered around the pond in the center of the grassy plateau, expanding out till there was more flowers than there was grass. You stepped closer, stepping through a few before kneeling down, cupping a small blue colored flower in your palm to admire the delicate plants. Twilight came up beside you. Admiration in his eyes as he looked not at the flowers and the beautifully clear water of the pond, but at you.
You could feel your cheeks heating under his gaze, bashfully turning your head away to avoid him noticing as you pulled his pelt tighter around you. You tried playing it off by continuing to look around at the environment.
“Twi this is beautiful!”
“I thought you might like it. Wild says the locals call it Lover's Pond since it's in the shape of a heart.”
You shot to your feet, taking a few steps back to try and see it for yourself. And holy Hylia he was right, the curve of the pond's edges were perfectly reminiscent of a heart.
“Oh my gosh it is! I hadn't even noticed that!”
Twilight laughed, waving you over to where he walked towards the mountain's edge. “C”mere”
You skipped your way over, letting him take your hand once more. The two of you sat down, letting your feet hang off the edge slightly as you looked out over the small seaside village. The sun beginning to make its appearance above the oceans waves to shoo away any lingering shadows of night.
You let yourself lean against his shoulder, hand coming to rest on his knee.
“Soo..” you dragged out, trying to suppress a giggle at how his cheeks instantly turned pink at your touch. “Are you going to tell me why exactly you wanted to take me up to a place called ‘Lovers Pond’?”
Twilight audible gulped, rubbing at his neck nervously. “Well...” he started, clearing his throat for good measure. “The locals said that this is where people go to find true love.” He explained, letting some of his own weight rest on you. “Though if I'm being honest, I think I found it the moment I met ya.”
It was your turn to blush. The heat spreading all the way to your ears as you sat a bit straighter. “Yeah?”
Twilight nodded, his arm sliding behind you so it rested lightly on your opposite hip, pressing you closer to him.
Blue eyes focused on yours, flicking down to your lips and back up so quickly you had almost missed it. You slowly cupped his face, reaching up to kiss the corner of his mouth. “This was really sweet of you Link... But gods would it ruin it if I said ‘took you long enough’?” You both chuckled, keeping your face close to his.
“Guess I was just waitin for a good opportunity. Better to wait and do this sorta thing right the first time after all!”
“And here I thought Sky was the sappy one”
He grabbed your chin, filling your head up towards him. “This was worth the wait…” he whispered, leaning in close till his lips hovered just above yours. “May I?”
You nodded, closing the distance till your lips were on his. It was soft and loving and everything you had hoped kissing him would be. The calluses on his fingers brushed against your skin, dragging your chin down till he could slip his tongue inside your mouth. It lapped over yours, pushing it aside to explore further into your mouth.
You let out a short moan as his hand released your chin, sliding around your neck to cup the base of your skull. His fingers curled in your hair, tugging slightly to get you to gasp but not enough to hurt, letting his tongue slide out with a final peck to your lips.
You both pulled away, faces redder than one of Wild’s bokoblins but just as out of breath as one. Hands fell into your laps, fingers interlocking as Twilight’s bright smile filled your vision.
“Think the others are gonna be mad if we're not back when they wake up?”
“I thought you said you’d already approved this with them!”
“.....”
“So you did kidnap me.”
“Like I said, it ain't kidnapping when you came willin’ly!”
“But the others have no clue where we are, do they?”
He pouted. Fucking Farore the man was pouting at you like a puppy. You hit his shoulders, unable to keep the laughter from your voice. “Twi aren't you the one always telling Hyrule and WIld to tell us where they are heading off to!?”
“Okay, okay I'm sorry. To be fair though I'm pretty sure they aren’t going to be that worried considering we aren't exactly known for getting lost or stuck in random caves.”
You rolled your eyes, kissing his cheek before getting to your feet. “Come on Rancher,”
He pouted more but stood up, grabbing your waist to pull you to him. “Are you suuuure I can't convince ya to stay a bit longer? Please?”
That should not have made you melt as quickly as it should have, but here you were, being reduced to a puddle with a simple please. You got up on the tips of your toes, wrapping your arms around his neck. “I supposed a few more minutes wouldn’t hurt. But whatever would you suggest we do with all that time to ourselves?” You mockingly asked, already staring at his lips.
Twilight smirked, “Oh I’ve got a few ideas darlin’.”

A thought that I shared with a couple of mutuals, cause I cannot shut up about Stardew Valley right now. Imma mix mash my favs together and make y'all spiral with me.
You, the only beloved grandchild of your grandfather, was given a letter by your grandfather who was on his last leg, filled with information regarding his left behind farm and cottage in your name. He told you when the day comes that when you've grown tired of the city and yearn for a life free from the shackles of the ever growing demand of corporates and nonstop hustle bustle. The farm and cottage will be waiting until you are ready. Years passed and of course, you become tired, exactly what your grandfather told you would. With no thoughts to spare to the city you left behind and little clothes on your back. Quitting your job, you head towards Pelican Town.
The mayor was friendly, save for the carpenter that definitely made you laugh until she made a jab at your grandfather's cottage. While you could agree, since it's honestly not much, yet you'll make do with what you got for now and add things on later. However, the slight pang went through your heart at the disrespect she gave to him. Before the mayor could set off, he highly encouraged you to introduce yourself to the entire town. He then goes over with you about the shipping container, what to put in there while handing you a sack filled with parsnip seeds. He also gestures to the tools he was able to get you that were sitting on the porch, with a wordless pat of good luck, he sets off down the road back to the town.
MEET OUR BACHELORS
First: Single (Bachelor)
Meeting First was quite quick since the man was known to be busy and quite on the run to get things done before heading back to the adventurer's guild that his great uncle runs. He was short in his greetings to you and apologized swiftly that he had to be somewhere.
It may not seem like it, but this man is definitely a poet with words. Chivalrous, that had his great uncle playfully rolling his eyes at his nephew.
Yet there's something underlying mysterious about him that drew you in to him. Perhaps you should gift him things and get to know him a little more better!
Sky: Single (Bachelor)
The eldest son of the carpenter! He lives down southeast of Lon Lon Ranch. He's the absolute sweetest person you've ever met in your entire life. The bright smile on his sleepy face had you mentally cooing at him.
He carves, paints, builds little bird houses just like what his mother use to do. He definitely decorates his home each time the season changes, it's so damn adorable.
He's single due to a breakup that did not end on good terms unfortunately. While he still respect her, however, there are things that were said that ended up hurting the other.
Four: Single (Bachelor)
The grandson of the blacksmith. He was working behind the counter when your fresh face entered the shop. Obviously, a little put off since not many people tend to flock to Pelican Town. He's a bit shy yet he makes small talk just to get to know you better. Until his grandfather emerged and the look on his face had him laughing.
Yeah, he ain't laughing anymore when his grandfather told him 'that's the kid you used to play with all the time when you were younger.'
He takes the tools you got and upgrades them or process the geodes that you tend to bring in.
Time: Single (Bachelor)
The working left hand man of Lon Lon Ranch. This man scared the absolute shit out of you when he showed up on your front porch that morning. To open a door to a towering, one eye, scarred man was not on your bingo card of shit you witness while living here.
He was straight to the point of who to come to when buying animals whenever you get your barn and coop up n going.
He's someone you want to be careful around, an anger you do not want aimed towards you. That mask you saw sitting on his belt felt ominous. He's hard to get warm up to.
Twilight: Single (Bachelor)
You were just planting the parsnip seeds when you heard a bark come from behind you and yelling from someone telling to 'Come back!' A black and white dog ran up on your porch with its tail wagging a mile a minute. A cute dirty blonde haired male came jogging up with an exasperated look before realizing you were the new farmer there.
He was embarrassed yet quickly introduced himself. The adopted son of Uli and Rusl's, the older brother to Colin and his soon to be born little sister. He also works at Lon Lon Ranch.
He's hiding something.
Hyrule: Single (Bachelor)
The doctor of the town. A shy sweetheart that introduced himself to you after you came in due to an already early incident on the farm. He scolds you gently for doing something stupid and rash.
May or may not have told you one day that he wasn't getting enough patients which affected his pay heavily.
Man has unprocessed trauma.
Wild: Single (Bachelor)
He runs the saloon, all by himself, save for his friend Flora does tend to come help him to keep things smooth and sailing when it gets packed. He was friendly enough to introduce himself to you when seeing you pass him on your way to Ravio's General Store.
He def encouraged you to take a load off once and awhile to relax in his Saloon.
He doesn't remember his old life, it seems like he doesn't want to either way.
Warriors: Single (Bachelor)
The older brother to Wind and Aryll. House is on the beach and he's dramatic as hell yet he comes in later on year 2 of your life on the farm. He introduced himself first thing in the morning and he's a bit stiff about it.
He's the only soldier(?) in Pelican Town and ties to the city, he seems so tired and run down honestly.
He's doing his absolute best to raise Wind and Aryll after the funeral of their grandmother.
Legend: Single (Bachelor)
The lone wizard that "summoned" you to his tower to gift you the language of the Junimos. Just to be able to easily translate the language and to fix up the community center.
His sassy attitude def threw you off yet he's standoffish. Only asking you of things he needed from the mines.
He seems to be mourning something.
Ravio: Single???
The owner of Ravio's General Store. The sight of his bunny ear hat sat upon his head was the first thing that caught your eyes. His eagerness to greet you while showing you the package of seeds he was given, showing off the wares he gotten.
The sight of his broken heart made yours clench when one of the workers of Joja mart came in and declared loudly that things were on sale for 50% off. He's trying his best, but the income is needed.
Is finding ways to take down Joja Mart
-TO BACHELORETTES (To be added at some point-
