Why is it the Dodo is usually depicted in B&W greyscale in collectible art and modern appearances even though he has a color look (“Dough for the Dodo”)?

i think it’s just because Porky in Wackyland is much more iconic—it’s his “birthing short”, ranked the #8 cartoon of all time, much of its appeal (at least to me) stems from such eye catching visuals and conscious use of a monochromatic palette

Wackyland feels more indicative of the Dodo’s origins/what he represents, whereas the most Dough for the Do-Do has going for it is Paul Julian’s backgrounds (i do enjoy the ending though!). it’s sort of an afterthought of a cartoon—so much so that Friz Freleng isn’t even credited as a director and denied ownership of it, so it very well may be a Hollywood Daffy type scenario in that he just handed it over to Hawley Pratt instead... granted it wasn’t his own short initially, but it’s pretty clear it’s a short Freleng wasn’t very invested in.

i don’t think that’s necessarily the reason, if there is even a reason at all.. i think most people just default to Wackyland when thinking of the Dodo and so it’s nice to uphold its roots with the black and white color scheme! i myself was really surprised to see that the LTC short was going to be in color, i was fully expecting it to be black and white for the reasons above.

The National Technical Research Organisation (NTRO) is inviting online applications for the position of Scientist ‘B’. The application process begins on 21st December 2023 and closes on 19th January 2024. The essential qualifications for the position include a first-class Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology in the relevant discipline, along with knowledge of computer applications. The Scientist ‘B’ position is classified as Group ‘A’ (Gazetted, Non-Ministerial) under the General Central Civil Service. Festive stimulus: Govt to launch LTC Cash scheme, special advance to employees

Centre on Monday announced a slew of schemes to trigger economic revival via stimulus measures.

Most of these initiatives were targeted to restore spending and demand during and after the festive season.

Speaking at a press conference, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that the Centre will launch ‘LTC Cash Voucher Scheme’ and ‘Special Festival Advance Scheme’.

Accordingly, the Centre expects Rs 28,000 crore worth of additional demand generation from LTC scheme.

Sitharaman said if private sector also comes forwards with similar offering, another Rs 28,000 crore of demand would be generated.

The Finance Minister also announced a special festival advance of Rs 10,000 for all gazetted and non gazetted officers. This scheme, she explained is being revived and will be one time only.
