Original storyyy of mine. Please don’t steal my characters they are precious to me. terrible grammar I’m sure. But plz let me know if y’all want a chapter 2?

Chp.1

 I’ll start this by saying the world I’m living in is hopefully different than the one you are living In. We’ve been at war for the longest time I’m not even sure who with at this point but I live in the states, Kentucky specifically. I’ve been moving out of this area because some of these foreigner soldiers have taken over parts of my state. Bombing had fortunately slowed down, thundering explosions raining down from the sky had ceased. Part of my own neighborhood had been bombed, leaving it in ruins. 

it seems like other parts of the world are just as damaged and destroyed as my home area or so I hear from other travelers. I’ve made it to where the Ohio river and Mississippi River join and am hoping to travel down through Missouri looking for the rest of my family. I have friends who I knew well before this world went south. Some chose to stay and travel to Fort Knox (where our military had a base set up) ,opting to help defend against the enemy and seek shelter. 

But a few of my best friends chose to travel away with me looking for family or other friends along the way. Or because their own family was already gone. 

My name is Fern, Fern Osborn. I’ll introduce my friends to you with ages And basic descriptions. 

Frane Solis : female, age eighteen, long light brown wavy hair and freckles tan skin, a sweet personality about her but don’t mistake that for weakness. 

Austin Cantrell : male, age nineteen, short black hair caramel ish skin tone, quiet personality but has and will put out good plans and advice.

Forest Kent : male, age seventeen (and a half tut), short brown blond ish hair tan skin tone, appears as cool and calculated personality but under it hides a sweet personality.

(Me) Fern Osborn : female, age seventeen, short light redish brown hair pale skin, loud and manic personality often rash and hasty. 

       Well that’s the group so far, I’ve left behind many friends already but these ones have stuck by my side. And are currently setting up camp for dinner while I write this. I close my journal with a snap and hop up off the ground, striding over to Frane. Frane was tending to our small fire on which we hopped to make some sorta soup when the boys came back from hunting. 

     “Done writing in the book today?” she asks politely. I nod walking over to grab another pice of fire wood. 

     “Done for the moment at least. Things happen so quick I have trouble writing them down sometimes” 

Frane nodded thoughtfully

     “I understand that” she then began poking at the fire while I placed another small log on top of the meager flames. We sat in an awkward silence for a bit the flames slowly eating away at the new log we had presented to it. 

     “Do you wonder how people are fairing at the fort?” She asked absentmindedly, and we both cast a glance at the cell phone on Forest backpack. The phone was propped up next to a small solar panel we used to charge flashlights and things. We had battery operated walki talkies, (on a private channel of course) In case the boys excursiones were to go awry but we had hardly used them. The phone however was our main way of contact to our friends stationed out at the Fort. We had head no news which we had all decided to take as a good thing. As Austin had said  

       “no news might be better than bad news.”

     I know Frane and I still wondered about it when it was just us at camp we often would talk about if we should’ve just stayed and traveled with everyone else. Now though it is to late we’re ankle high into this excursion and I at least intend to finish it. I tuned away to grab the collapsible pot we used for cooking and Frane was going to grab some vegetables from another pack when the bushes next to us rustled. I saw Frane draw her small hand gun holding it at the ready in case it was a unwanted animal. Instead of an animal the two boys came stomping out from the brush (so the wild animal assumption may not have been entirely wrong) a deceased rabbit in tow, Frane put her gun away reattaching it to her side. 

     “Okay can you guys like make the rabbit meat over there” I gestured over near the far side of camp. 

     “Yes mam” Austin said jokingly 

    “We’re in a war you have to get used to some blood Fern.” Forest added flatly. 

I rolled my eyes at them both,

    “Yeah yeah yeah, well the sooner you do that the sooner we can make something to eat.” 

    “Right” Frane added returning with a potato and a few carrots. 

   “You boys skin the rabbit Fern and I will do the vegetables” I noticed Forest shift a bit closer to Frane and I was almost anticipating his next words. 

    “Fern could I do vegetables instead?” He asked politely, I could tell he only wanted to because then he could work with Frane. So I ‘politely’ turned his offer down. 

     “Nahh, why don’t you continue helping Austin?”  Forest sent me a glare while I stuck my tongue out at him in return. 

     “Come guys, grow up. Forest. just let It go.” Austin said exasperatedly and grabbed Forest by the arm leading him over out of eye sight to ‘fix’ the rabbit. I could tell Frane was holding back laughter and when I began dramatically reenacting Forests disappointed/mad face we both fell into a fit of giggles. 

      “Okay okay,” Frane said trying to reign us back into some sense of seriousness. 

      “Here you can chop the carrots I’ll peel the potato” 

       she said passing me a small clean knife. I nodded and obeyed without protest carefully chopping the carrot up on our makeshift cutting board, then I asked Frane a question. 

     “So Frane, are you hoping to meet anyone along our travel?”

      I glanced up from my work to Frane.  

      “Well i don’t think particularly, maybe we’ll run into friends who decided to head out of state instead of towards the Fort. Are you” 

       she shot back with another question lucky for me I don’t usually ask questions I can’t answer myself. So I told her 

      “Yeah, Family of mine as I think you already know. But also wouldn’t mind running Into friends.” She nodded in acknowledgment.

      “Yeah, that’s understandable.” I sighed thinking of my friends I had to leave behind like Cassie. Cassie was my neighbor and the friend I’d known the longest, I won’t lie I miss her quite a bit. She and I used to plan to go on grand adventures together, braving all sorts of dangers in our imaginations.

    “Done with the vegetables!” Frane announced next to me. Being lost in my thoughts I almost didn’t realize I had run out of carrot to chop up. I would’ve ended up cutting my finger off had I not been pulled out of my reminiscing. 

    “Oh. Yes, right!” I said quickly trying to appear as focused as my companion was. 

Now we just need the meat and we’ll have handmade stew for supper instead of our usual MREs (Meal, Ready-To-Eat) pre made meals that we heat up in boiling water, if we want them warm that is. They are way more common now than they were years ago. The light weight meal packs are easy to transport ,give calories and vitamins we desperately need while constantly traveling around, and they taste fine enough. Nothing beats an actual fresh cooked meal though. We’ve cooked an actual meal every Sunday night we’ve been out traveling; it requires more work as Frane and I have to remember to preserve our vegetables and search for more around the forests and farms we pass, and the Boys have to go out hunting for some form of protein/meat every Sunday afternoon. Speaking of (or rather thinking) where did the guys run off to. 

   “Frane?” She hummed acknowledging my questioning tone. 

   “Where did Forest and Austin go off to?” 

   “Oh they went over by the tents they should be back soon” 

   “Ah, okay,” I shouted over in the general direction they were apparently at.

   “Austinn Forest!! I’m hungry you guys done yettt?!” Austin shouted back. 

   “Almost. be patient Fern!”

I dramatically sunk to the ground.

   “But I’m starvinggg” I leaned across Frane and said with excessive drama.

   “Frane I don’t think I can make ittt” She rolled her eyes. 

  “You poor thing, I don’t you will make it” Forest returned and deposited the meat in the bottom of the pot so it could cook before we put the broth in. 

   “Good grief” he sighed “you can’t make it twenty minutes!?” 

  “NoOoOo I CaN’t” I said pitifully. 

  “Oh come on pull yourself together a bit.” Austin said his voice gentle but with a sense of seriousness behind it. I straightened up halting my dramatic melting all over Frane allowing her to stir up our dinner.

Who is Not Eligible for a Tax Refund?

ooooh you love those 'under the influence' moments, huhhh 😘🔥

RSTV's sex scene is one that's so interesting to me bc it's very messy and intense - i considered visuals and steve and tony's respective cognizance levels a lot when writing it. and the scene is necessary for the emotional plot, for sure, but it is sincerely so silly and fragile a plot premise. this is echoed in ITR, i really leaned into The Comics of both of them 😂
