#lowkey spicy but ehh

i wanted to kinda talk about my opinion on some things related to Ana Huang and the romance genre in general- sorry for the rant!!!

finished king of sloth by ana huang and urgrhrgrhrhrh i actually really really enjoyed it!!!! (i say that ab everything i read tho tbh, i've just never been the type who criticizes the media i consume so PLEASE don't ever base ur opinions off of mine :)

my post isn't about the book specifically or even the author. i lowkey have a bone to pick and its NOT with ana huang or the book but moreso the reaction i've been noticing about the book (specifically from people who have been making fun of it and/or people who read it)! this isn't meant to start discourse or anything but i am open to polite discussion about some of the points im bringing up. this is generally focused around ana huang but also a lot of majority-feminine centric media has this same problem.

anyways, i'm gonna try to express how i feel as best i can without being rude or offensive ajshsjs-

it just lowkey irks me that sm people have been hating on ana huang now that she's getting attention, and since she's a romance writer, her fans and fanbase is mostly women and/or girls, (which is totally ok)!! however, i genuinely feel like this is just another barbie movie or sarah j mass or taylor swift scenario where the second something/someone that a lot of woman like starts to get publicity, people (mostly men) start excessively hating on it.

i have genuinely seen sm people dissing not only ana huang but her writing as well. now i don't know much about her as a person and i know that a lot of people are flawed so if she's genuinely done something wrong PLEASE lmk, i don't keep up w that stuff. and hey, maybe you just didn't like the book and thats ok too!!! its totally valid to not like something, but to make fun of an author and the people who enjoy her content just seems.. ehh.

a lot and i mean a LOT of people claim that she's only popular because of her smut but i actually enjoy her books more than just for the smutty/romance aspect. maybe that's just me, but i genuinely find it interesting and a lot of other people i know also enjoy it for the plot. and if u are reading for the smut that's ok as well, this is a totally safe space, and nobody should judge u on your reasons to read a book. the books are INTENDED to be fluffy and spicy and overall are just fictional romantic stories. they're smutty, funny books, not the bible. it shocks me how much people make fun of them.

i just keep seeing this trend of people negatively nitpicking anything and everything about authors and their writing ESPECIALLY when its romance and it just rubs me the wrong way. ive seen a LOT of people upset about huang including cameo's of her other characters in her latest book, and if you don't like those other characters so much then why... are u reading it??? THAT SOUNDS SO MEAN IM SORRY but its just so strange that people are upset about her including her own characters from her own series'?

its just disappointing that whenever someone or something becomes popular, there are always people who are just trying to be negative and diss it along with the people who enjoy it. i'm NOT making this post to be rude or offensive to people who genuinely don't like the author or the series, ur absolutely entitled to ur own opinion!!! however i have just seen this link SO MANY TIMES of people suddenly disliking something/someone bc a lot of woman seem to enjoy it and it just makes me a bit sad and disappointed.

(also side note can men stop hating on the romance genre and books they haven't even read? please??? can feminine people like anything anymore??? romance exists as such a successful genre bc the majority of readers are WOMEN who have to create fictional scenarios about being loved by seemingly "unachievable" men that are literally just doing the bare minimum. women fantasize about being treated with BASIC HUMAN RESPECT as though that isn't the standard, bc honestly, it isnt.)

I have a genuine question, like lowkey a little spicy about it, but why do people feel the need to "rank" their favorite love square sides? I'm not talking "x side is my favorite because I just think they're neat," but rather the "okay, so ladrien is my least favorite side because they're just so boring. Like they just already like each other. YAWN. In 3rd place is Adrinette because I just think Marinette is so creepy like ew."

Why? Why is this a thing people feel compelled to do? Does anyone actually care how you rank them? Has anyone following this blog ever sat down and genuinely thought to themselves, "I wonder how Cat ranks the sides of the love square?" I can tell you in all of my time in fandom, I've never given a single fuck what "order" people like the sides in, nor do I really have a ranking of my own. I'm trash for all sides in different ways and to varying degrees depending on canon and ideas I have at the time. Sure, Adrinette is my favorite because I relate to it, and I will stan Ladrien until I die, but like LadyNoir is also great? And MariChat makes me laugh? And they're all the same people?? Honestly the past few days I've been thinking about how I would rank them, and Adrinette is for sure my favorite but when it comes to the other three I'm like ehh, idk? Like I can't in my brain arrange them in a particular order because they all have pros and cons, and I genuinely enjoy different things about each of them.

I feel like the people I see "ranking" the sides just want an excuse to shit on a dynamic they don't care for, under the guise of "no, no, I don't hate that thing, I was just ranking my favorites. I mean, I know I said it was shitty and boring, and I'd rather watch paint dry than read a fic about it, but like this isn't hate, no." And like?? Fuck off?? Especially because these people tag all the sides, including the ones they shit on, so now the people innocently trying to enjoy content for stuff they like have to scroll through everyone's shitty rankings that they don't give two fucks about.

If you prefer a certain dynamic, that's fine. Most people in this fandom do, but at the end of the day, they are the same two folks no matter how you slice them so posting about how Adrien and Marinette are SO boring and how they should be more like Adrien and Marinette but standing over here because that's way better in your opinion just makes you look dumb. To me. And many other people.

If you like LadyNoir the most, great! Post about LadyNoir. If you don't like Adrinette very much, (I mean you're wrong but) cool. Don't post Adrinette content. But I can guarantee that almost no one in this fandom cares how you would rank all sides from favorite to least. It's literally just an excuse to shit on the same two ass people. Which is silly. Because they're the same two ass people.

If you like one side more, post about that one side to your hearts content. If you don't like another side, at least have the damn decency to keep your shit out of the tags for it. 90% of the people I block in this fandom nowadays are people who tag their ship hate. Say what you want about how I feel about other ships in this show, but when I wanted to post my feelings about something I didn't like, I created my own tag unrelated to any main tags, didn't refer to them by name so it wouldn't pop up in searches, and kept my shit right here on this blog so other people could still enjoy their things. Tumblr is a curate your own experience platform, sure, but that doesn't mean you get a free pass to be an asshole.

Anyway, my official ranking of the love square sides is:

1. They're all great, but I like Adrinette slightly more.

AISHITERU-KAZUTORA FANFIC,PART-3

The next few days were TOTAL HELL.

I tried to escape him by going to different place, but he somehow always found me.

"Y/N! Lets go to the arcade!" He exclaimed.

"No" I said, going back to my homework.

"Come on!" He said.

"No" I replied.

"If you don't go. I will tell everyone about your little secret" he said, whispering in my ear, as his hand touched the strands of hair where my highlights lied.

"..fine.let me change my look first. I don't want to get caught hanging out with some delinquent" I said

"Okay! You have 10 minutes!" He smiled

'although the arcade was fun, its still-its like he has a problem with something I cant figure out. And i am curious, which is a problem'

"The breeze is so calming" he smiled.

"It is" I said, we were sitting on the spot where we first met.

"Remember the time when we first met here and you thought of me as a corpse? Your REACTION WAS GOLD!" He laughed

"Shu-shut up you stupid delinquent. We don't talk about that" I said.

"Make way for me" he said, taking the bag in my lap and replacing it with his head.

"I-uh-what are you doing?!" I said.

"Sleeping duh. The ground is not comfortable" he said.

"Then take the bag as your pillow" I said, I didn't mind his head on my lap- BUT STILL-NO. I DON'T-

"Nah. Now quiet. Let me sleep or I will tell everyone your secret" he said.

'ugh. The secret shit again. I wish I never agreed to tutor. Okay y/n. Only for some days months more. The recommendation letter will be right in your hand in a few days. Calm down'

He ended up sleeping the whole evening and made me have snacks with him when he woke up. It was lowkey fun-

'why is he here?! Didn't we had tutor session in the morning? Its recess now. So why-'

"What?" I asked, taking a bite from my dorayaki.

"Don't be so harshh" he whined, his expression implying 'be nice or I tell'

"Lets get some spicy pork buns together!" He exclaimed happily.

"No thank you, I am good with my dorayaki" I said, his smile lowkey dropped for a moment at the mention of 'dorayaki'

'does he have some problems with dorayaki or something?'

"And now you don't!" He smiled, throwing my dorayakis out of the window.

"EHH WHA-*coughs* why? Why would you do that?" I asked.

'my dorayaki!-' I internally cried.

"Come on! If we don't hurry, the buns will be over!" He happily exclaimed, dragging me by my hand while I cried.

"It tastes so good right!" Kazutora exclaimed.

"......my dorayakis......." I cried as I bit into the bun kazutora bought.

"Hahahah" he laughed.

"stop laughing....this is all your fault. You waste my precious dorayaki" I cried.

"Because, eating together with people is nice. You shouldn't decline my offer" he said.

"normal people leave after being declined you stupid person" I mumbled in a low voice.

"Hmm, what was that?" He asked,turning towards me.

"nothing" I said.

"Good" he smiled.

"We can't hangout till evening today" he said.

"Oh" I replied.

'why-wait-why do I sound dissapointed?-has hanging out with him made a permanent routine in my life-i-no- i should be happy.happy'

"I have to meet my best friend" he said

"Have fun" I replied

"Don't worry! I will bring lots of yakisoba buns for you!" He said, hugging me.

"yakisoba bun does sound...nice" I mumbled. I am so used to his sudden hugs now. Its like being with a ticking bomb, he either be all friendly, affectionate friendly or 'i will ruin your life by telling your secret if you don't do what I say'

"Meet you after school y/n!" He exclaimed and turned around to walk, we were in the hallway infront of my class. Recess will be ending in 15 minutes.

"Sure!" I smiled back.

'ugh-although I can be myself around him and he has lowkey pretty eyes-i don't like him. That sadist. He tortures me in the name of keeping it a secret'

"Um-ano-y/n senpai" a voice said.

"Yeah?" I asked.

"Uh-a-are you dating someone?" The boy nervously asked.

"N-" I got cut off by a hand on my mouth.

"Yeah, she is taken" a familiar voice spoke, as the person suddenly pulled me into his chest.

"Kazutora. We are not dating" I said.

"I know. You should be thankful. I made him go away" he said as he let me go.

"I could had handled that on my own" I said.

"Haha, baji-san, don't be so mean to your sister, of course we can drop you off" chifuyu smiled.

"THANK YOU. This is why chifuyu nii san is better than you nii san" I said, pointing my hand towards my brother.
