Stark was the CONTRAST between the officiating priest and Simeon and Anna—the former dedicated the baby Jesus as a poor, ordinary first-born infant. 👇 At the same time, the latter saw that this was the Promised Deliverer, and so they spoke words that revealed His actual mission. The former was blinded by outward appearances, while the Holy Spirit inspired the latter because they sought salvation from sin deep within their hearts. This same stark CONTRAST will be made even more evident as Jesus would live His life—the CONTRAST between those who embrace the principle of love in their lives and those who swear by the principle of anti-love or selfishness and self-centeredness. Even at the cross, the same CONTRAST between Christ’s love and Satan’s anti-love will be demonstrated.
