🐾 paws - if your s/i and f/o were mammals, what kind would they be?

funnily enough, this is something I think about quite often :,) I am a wildlife rehabilitator irl and am huge into zoology so I loveeee making associations between animals and those I love! For myself, I'd either be a mountain lion or some variation of tiger, solitary by nature with a bit of mysterious grace, but able to pounce at a moments notice. Meanwhile, Gus is a grey wolf! Pun aside on our unit being called Wolfguard, he is very pack orientated and always is worrying about the health of those even remotely close to him, along with having the tendency to always be alert for any signs of danger. We balance each other out in many ways, regardless of what form we take hehe <3

🎧 headphones - what genre of music does your f/o like to listen to?

Tav enjoys music that's essentially the opposite of what I listen to, calming and soothing songs you can relax to easily. More often than not it's mostly acoustic or fully instrumental tracks, as he tends to listen to music the most when going through the never ending piles of paperwork in our offices. Beyreis' song J’aurai cent ans has been one of his favourites for a while, he considers it one of "our" songs <3 Other artists he fancies include Françoise Hardy (especially her, he has most her vinyls) , Meimuna, and Carla Bruni! Very stark in contrast to the metal and rock I enjoy, but lovely and so, so him <33

Winter is my favourite season, I love the cold weather and bleary nights, and I especially love the fashion around it >:) Gus has always been quite stylish, even if he won't admit it. First LP you ever bought?

ooo that would be the 10th anniversary edition of hello sadness by los campesinos! and i actually think i didn't even have a player at that point. pretty sure i wanted it and then went hm, i should get a turntable for real finally. and i did!

3. Most valuable record in your collection?

uhh i don't really know according to discogs i think it's either my edition of the resident evil 7 ost or my mondo otgw one (since they're restocking that i highly doubt it's worth as much as they're saying). alternatively it might be the lovejoy lp 'cause i've been informed people have offered exorbitant amounts for what is in my opinion a not-great quality pressing but i'm still not going to sell it. bc i'm a bitch.

10. Last record you bought?

a used copy of the man from snowy river (1983) ost if i'm not mistaken. and i love it.

14. Do you have any rarities/limited edition records? If so, how many?

i dunno about anything from my dad's collection i inherited but blu got me the sdcc limited edition version of the batman (2022) ost, and i contributed to the philip labes four seasons campaign. i have the lovejoy lp as mentioned and the 10th anniversary edition of hello sadness. i think that's all though.

17. What was the cheapest record you ever bought?

i got country for like $2 used and it was a steal bc i freaking loveeee it. i also got a used copy of porter robinson's worlds technically for free because i used bookstore credit from trading in books to purchase it.

30. Record(s) that you want to buy next?

mmm i want the wizard of oz ost a lot, and i'd also love to get the good witch by maisie peters, the polar express ost, gulag orkestar by beirut and the disappearance of the girl by phildel. ones that i want but will never be able to afford include all the lotr osts, the life is strange ost, and the haunting of hill house ost unless waxwork ever represses it.

do i ever! let me see if i can remember them all. not counting white 'cause that's boring...my batman soundtrack is like neon/translucent yellow, purple, and orange, crane wives double lp is blue and orange, shazam has one red with yellow splatter and one smoky grey translucent, hello sadness is yellow, otgw is translucent yellow with orange splatter, sleeping at last's atlas: space is red and blue-green, my mlp vinyl is two shades of pink, and my montgomery ricky lp is also marbled pink. i have the oxenfree ost (translucent orange) and philip labes' four seasons (green, yellow, orange, blue) on preorder as well. colored vinyl is very cool.

bob dylan - the freewheelin’ bob dylan: i loveeee early 60s american folk music so i mean. yeah. i think it’s really well-rounded album in terms of the songs and i just really like all of them! also: highway 61 revisited and blood on the tracks

sam cooke - live at the harlem square club: this album knocked me out the first time i listened to it. the mood in that room is chilling they LOVE him and it’s brilliant. just so involving it’s one of the albums i’ll recommend to anyone i just think it’s phenomenal

otis redding - otis blue: so so so good!! im a big fan of his stones cover :)

modern life is rubbish - blur: LOVE THIS ONEEEE <3 im a britpop fan at heart and this one is so awesome. and such a showcase of the fact they were actually good (and better than oasis). such a great album lots of good songs and a really good overall feel to it i think. really obviously 60s influenced too i think which i like a lot! also parklife and self-titled

lauryn hill - the miseducation of lauryn hill. just phenomenal all round in terms of quality across the board

different class - pulp: best album of britpop no joke. i feel like it’s almost a concept album but not quite, so many good songs and such a brilliant immersive general feel to it. probably also top 5 for me...

ruby: favourite pre-2000 song?  this is too many songs and now i just am not in the mood to be choosing 

vermilion: have you ever pulled an all-nighter? if so, tell us about the first time. 

oh yeah definitely, I was pretty young and was staying the night at my best friend’s house and we were pretty much just eating nachos and playing mario party all night. passed out at like noon the next afternoon and was comatose for like 2 days

red ochre: are you inclined to watch a tv series if a lot of people on the internet are talking about it? 

depends on what people are saying about it, but generally no? getting me to watch anything is like pulling teeth but I have succumbed to the hype train a few times

cardinal: what is the first song that made you cry?  okay i had to think for a bit bc I cry at a lot of songs nowadays so the first was kinda hard to pinpoint but I thiiiiiink it was Hey There Delilah by Plain White T’s (yes I realize what a weird answer that sounds like so storytime) I was an infant in early middle school and I was Obsessed w this one boy in that intense gremliny way you do when you’ve gone to school with the same 40 people since you were 3. ANYWAY that song (my FAVORITE song atm) came on at the nasty little school dance and I was like OH BOY HE’S TOTALLY GONNA ASK ME TO DANCE. and so I (totally inconspicuously and casually, im sure) stroll abt the gym to be like “ahaha fancy seeing u here” only to see that he was already dancing with the girl in my class that I had previously and arbitrarily decided was my Mortal Enemy (bc that’s just how it works when ur an 11 year old tomboy and another girl wears lipgloss I guess). Obvs I was crushed but then the song came on the radio later that week and I just started bawling in the car and my parents were SO confused lmao 

scarlet: think of your favourite genre. what kind of media in that genre do you prefer - books, films, or tv series? im a big scifi/high fantasy fool and I def love books the most. I like being able to fill in some of the details w my imagination and it’s just much, much easier for me to get absorbed in a book vs a movie/show.

I uh.. hmm.. this is an interesting one. immediate answer is steal, but upon further consideration: it would be fucking hilarious to use my personal knowledge to fuck w people that have wronged me. like imagine just rolling up to someone’s house, knocking on the door, issuing a hyperspecific curse that cements this event in their minds and plagues them for years in the future, then just disappearing forever as I would have been a person that does not exist. *rod sterling voice* pretty fucked up huh? im a twisted cycle path
