15 DAYS OF SONGFICS FOR HALLOWEEN (OCT 15TH - OCT 31ST)

‘Fuckin class man,’ I heard Dom laugh a little way down the corridor as chatter ensued close by. I was sitting in the dressing room scrolling through my phone but I looked up when I heard his voice. He had just come off stage from his second show of the night and considering I had already seen the first [and all the others he’d done on this tour] I had opted to hang back to get ready since he had told me in no uncertain terms that we were definitely going out properly tonight. For the most part of our time in Vegas we’d stuck to our hotel and the casino that adjoined it. He was always busy so he didn’t have time to breathe let alone let loose on the strip, but tonight was our time to do that. Which is why I had opted to stay in his dressing room and get myself looking presentable. I’d never let him know that he’d been right and it had taken all of twenty minutes before I was ready and bored waiting for him.

As I placed my phone down the door opened and I spotted him lingering by it as he spoke to people I couldn’t see.

‘Yeah mate,’ he chuckled, ‘ten minutes yeah and I’ll be back out.’ ‘Meet in the bar?’ I heard someone say. ‘Yeah man,’ he smiled before he turned inside the room and caught sight of me. He kicked the door shut behind him as he came over to me with a bright smile and I stood up and allowed him to pull me into him, wrapping my arms around his neck as he kissed me. He was dripping with sweat, his hair sticking to his head as I ran my fingers through it. I couldn’t breathe, his arms were crushing me to him, but I didn’t care. Finally, he pulled away from me.

‘Hiya,’ I giggled. ‘Hi,’ he smirked, giving me another quick kiss. ‘Good show?’ I asked, reaching my hand so I could brush his sweaty fringe off of his face. ‘Fuckin brilliant,’ he said, ‘missed you though.’ ‘Like you’d even notice me over all those screaming fans,’ I chuckled. ‘Always do,’ he whispered before he leaned in and kissed me again. He pulled me closer again but his hands were now dancing underneath my shirt making goosebumps appear where his touch went. He kissed me deeper as I pushed him back towards the couch. As the backs of his legs hit the couch I pushed him down so he was sitting and shimmied my shirt off as I climbed onto his lap to straddle him. His hands caressed my chest, teasing my nipple with his thumb and forefinger as I kissed his jaw and neck roughly. I gasped as he pinched me hard which made him chuckle. I could feel him through my knickers, rigid against my core as he strained against his pants. I rocked my hips against him giggling as he grunted.

‘Don’t tease,’ he said in an entirely whiny voice. ‘I’ll stop teasing when you touch me,’ I said. I grabbed his hand and placed it under my skirt. He moved my underwear aside deftly as his fingers slid between already slick folds. I rocked against him enjoying the feeling of his rigid cock against my core and his fingers circling my clit. He placed one hand on the small of my back holding me in place as I leaned back enjoying the sensation. ‘Fuck,’ he grunted his hips bucking up against mine. I hadn’t even touched him yet and he was beside himself. ‘Want me to touch you, baby?’ I asked leaning forward and holding his face in my hands. He looked up at me with wide eyes and nodded. I leaned up onto my knees so there was space between us now and grabbed his hand so it was no longer touching me. Then I grabbed both of his hands and stationed them on my hips so he was holding me securely.

‘You’re not allowed to touch okay?’ I whispered kissing him again. He nodded. Then I fumbled with his pants until he was in my hand. He shivered as I ran my thumb across the tip which was now sticky from excitement. I massaged him gently in my hand watching as his head fell back against the couch and his eyes closed. Then, I carefully teased him through my pussy lips moaning as his head hit my clit. His eyes flew open as I did so, his pupils blown with lust. His hips bucked a little towards me as I did it again and I tutted, ‘needy.’

‘Please,’ he whimpered. I bit my lip as I used my free hand to caress his cheek. He leaned into it, kissing my wrist as I did. Then I positioned myself over him and eased myself gently down until he was all the way inside me. I moaned as I moved against him slowly at first taking all I could get. As I started to move quicker his breathing got a bit faster and his grip on my hips was hard enough that I was sure to have bruises there tomorrow.

My fingers went to my clit working it in rhythm with my movements. I was lost in the moment, enjoying the sensation when I looked down to find him watching me his gaze loving and full of lust.

‘Dom,’ I moaned as I felt my climax come over me. He was close behind me I could tell as his hips had started moving of their own accord meeting me with every thrust. ‘Fuck Y/N,’ he grunted as I rode it out like a wave meeting the shore. I fell against him, clinging to him as he pounded up into me solely focused on meeting me in bliss. I kissed him deeply my hand pressed tightly against his throat. And then he was cumming. He pulled his mouth away from mine burying his face in my shoulder as he attempted to muffle the sound of his moans.

As his orgasm faded he fell back against the couch, holding me as I lay against him, my head tucked into his neck. He grumbled as I pulled back.

‘One minute,’ I whispered kissing him on the cheek as I clambered off him, grabbing my shirt as I went to the small bathroom that adjoined the dressing room. I peed and cleaned myself up before checking myself in the mirror. Luckily our impromptu tryst hadn’t played too much havoc with my makeup.

When I left the bathroom he was already getting changed and I headed to the vanity to make myself a bit more presentable. I wiped the old now smudged lipstick away and replaced it, though I was sure it wasn’t going to last the night considering the mood Dom was in. I blended around my mouth and ran a comb through my hair and just as I finished I felt Dom come up behind me. His chin rested on my shoulder as he watched me.

‘Said you were needy,’ I chuckled making him laugh before he spun me around until I was facing him. ‘I know what I want,’ he said matter of factly. ‘Oh yeah, and what’s that?’ I challenged, hopping up onto the table so he was able to stand between my legs. ‘You,’ he said watching as I rolled my eyes, ‘I mean it.’ ‘Well you’ve got me,’ I said as I checked the time on my phone, ‘in fact less than five minutes ago you actually had me.’ ‘That’s not what I mean,’ he said simply. My eyebrows knitted together with confusion. ‘What are you going on about?’ ‘What would you say if I said let’s do something crazy?’ ‘I’d say what else is new,’ I giggled. ‘Come on,’ he said, ‘seriously.’ ‘I’d say what is it?’ looking at him with bemusement, a smirk on my face. ‘Marry me.’

My mouth fell open as the words left his mouth. Had he really just said what I thought he had? My eyes roved his expression trying to figure out if there was a chance he was joking. He seemed serious.

‘Dom,’ I mumbled. ‘I mean it,’ he said, ‘why don’t we?’ ‘Just go and get married?’ ‘We’re in Vegas,’ he shrugged. ‘Yeah because everyone wants to get married by a bad Elvis impersonator,’ I said rolling my eyes. ‘It’s not like it’s not gonna happen one day,’ he reasoned, ‘I mean…you and me I sorta thought forever was a given.’ ‘It is,’ I said dropping my gaze. I had thought about it. I loved Dom more than anyone I’d ever loved but marriage just seemed a big next step. Especially to go and do right after the decision had been made. ‘So why wait?’ he said moving my hair out of my face. ‘Our friends, our family-’ ‘Will get over it. Weddings are a big hassle and I know our families. I don’t want anything but you and me,’ he said. ‘It’s all a bit fast,’ I said, ‘I mean there’s like things we need to think about.’ ‘There’s a hundred wedding chapels in town. We can find someone to witness it. Whatever you want to do I’m here for.’ ‘You’ve thought everything through huh?’ I said with a small smile. He smirked and I thanked God I was sitting down because I was sure that my knees would’ve buckled just looking at him. ‘Yep,’ he smirked. ‘Not everything though,’ I said turning my head away dramatically when I looked back he was watching me puzzled, ‘you’ve not even asked me to marry you yet. Not properly.’

‘Ah,’ he said pulling out of my grasp. He moved away and grabbed his discarded pants off of the floor fumbling with them for a minute. I watched him puzzled. Then he was back, pulling me off of the table so I was standing and dropping to one knee in front of me. Then he offered up a ring. I hadn’t realised until that moment how much he had thought this through. Most of our life was done living in the moment and I thought his marriage idea was nothing more than that but looking at him now I knew he was utterly and completely serious. My eyes roved over the ring he was holding in between his thumb and forefinger. A simple gold band with a stormy blue-grey diamond and of course, not in a ring box [that was way too straight-laced for him]. I had to admit though, it was beautiful.

‘Dom,’ I said thickly. ‘Y/N,’ he smiled, ‘will you marry me?’ ‘Of course I will.’

PART 4: THE BUSINESSWOMAN

This is the final part of my 4-part analysis of MCR5, the Masterpost for which can be found here. Link to previous part found at the bottom of the post. If there's something I missed, or you'd like to add your own spin/elaborate on something I brushed over, by all means I'd love to hear it!!

We fucking made it. This is my magnum opus. The apotheosis of my life’s work. This is what it is, what it’s all about. This is MCR5.

I alluded to the character of the Businesswoman a good 11,000 words ago during my deep dive of The Foundations of Decay. ‘She will always be the whore.’ Yeah, that’s her. I also omitted her when talking about FEMCR because I wanted to do it here. She is the only character to appear more than once on tour, aside from Cheerard. The latter appeared in two US shows, Nashville and LA, but the Businesswoman appears in 8 shows total across three countries. We also know it’s the same character apropos of Marina Toybina’s Instagram post, and her appearance evolves throughout. Strap yourselves in, we’re in for a ride.

AUCKLAND: FIX FAX FUCK YOU “But it’s not the end. It never ends. Because WAR never ends. Because war never ends. WAR!!!”

The first appearance of our lovely lady. As opposed to Cheerard and our Nurse, she’s a lot less cheery, which is what leads me to believe her story isn’t particularly sparkly or sweet. She screams a lot. The blazer and mid-thigh skirt are this nice grey, and due to the specific cut of the blazer, I believe this specific ensemble is utilised for this performance only. I believe the black tie stays consistent throughout the rest of her appearances. She has black heeled boots and black stockings.

I’ve seen a lot of people speculate that the ‘Vampire Mansion’ is where MCR5 is going to take place, and all these character Gerard is portraying on tour are residents of the mansion. With how little we know about MCR5, it’s possible, but I don’t believe this narrative to be as likely. It’d be so much fun, don’t get me wrong, but the fabric of each concept album has intrinsic ties to the psychology of the band at that point in time. Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge is a love letter to horror flicks, but also deals heavily with grief and loss since Gerard and Mikey had just lost their grandmother. The Black Parade is about death and moving on but has those personal undertones in the lyrics about addiction and mental illness that are pulled directly from the band’s experiences. Mikey Way talked about how the band’s stay in the Paramour Estate had exacerbated the issues he was facing, and that Gerard was looking into having him committed.

Two weeks after Mikey left, Ray and Gerard wrote Famous Last Words which of course fits into the storyline of The Black Parade, but also is a direct response to Mikey’s departure and the emotions Gerard was feeling at the time. This pattern of the albums pulling from the band’s experiences at that moment in time is a reason why I don’t think the Vampire Mansion MCR5 Theory is so credible.

Back to the Businesswoman. We know Gerard’s stance on war from the numerous on-stage rambles they have across the tour. The backdrop of the tour is quite literally a warzone, and there’s references to war and 9/11 in the lyrics of The Foundations of Decay. They spoke out about the war in Ukraine (the band was supposed to play a show there, but it was cancelled), and war is this tragic, persistent thing that never seems to end. 2022 and 2023 have been rife with it.

This character is surrounded by war, by terrorism and bloodshed. She’s bitter and angry, and she has every right to be. ‘Fix fax fuck you’ has this sharp tone to it that introduces this character incredibly well. We already have a gauge of this person, and her setting. The next outfits build upon that.

BRISBANE NIGHT 1: EVERYTHING UNDER CONTROL “I will not wear a hat in this outfit! And so we move on, we move on, we move on to war! You know what’s in store? More fucking war!”

(Sidenote: The drawings on the speakers from Mikey’s kids are so endearing.)

The Businesswoman outfit appears a little more conservative here, but it’s our same favourite gal. She’s got sheer black stockings and heels with straps. Her skirt’s just below the knee tonight. She loses the jacket fairly early on in this show, as well as her tie; most photos are of the 1st photo where the outfit is stripped down significantly. I’ve found it incredibly difficult to find decent quality pictures of this show with the full outfit, I think Gerard just Does Not Enjoy Australian weather.

I’ve heard some claims that ‘Everything Under Control’ was what came over the speakers at the World Trade Centre during 9/11, but I can’t find a source for this. At this point, there may be a little bit of plausibility with the Businesswoman Theory. Similar outfits two nights in a row? That’s new but maybe they’ve got a limited wardrobe. They are halfway across the world anyways. ‘Everything Under Control’ seems a little vague, you could tie to just about anything, if it isn’t a reference to 9/11.

Would also to mention here, Gerard Way arrived in New Zealand with a Gucci shopping bag. I’ve done my research and can’t pinpoint exactly what part of the Businesswoman outfit he may have shopped for, but my guess is the sunglasses, shoes or coat. She’s a luxury girl. She doesn’t deserve any less. (EDIT: I found it, but I’m going to leave this here as I add more.)

BRISBANE NIGHT 2: HERE COMES THE AIRPLANE “I have two kinds of perfume on this tour; one smells very calming, like the last day of summer, the other smells like a hospital. It gives me anxiety. Do you know which one I’m wearin’ tonight?”

If you had any inhibitions about the 9/11 ties to the Businesswoman, this should do it. ‘Here comes the airplane’ implies she’s some sort of accountant or secretary working at the World Trade Centre when the attacks occur. A 9/11 narrative for MCR5 would be macabre no doubt, but no more than the content of the preexisting albums. Skylines and Turnstiles was written in direct response to the attacks, and the band itself was formed in the wake of the events. I don’t think it’s coincidence either that they played that song at this show.

MCR5 as the 9/11 album would be this beautiful dichotomy of old and new; building on the birth of the band itself but speaking to the rebirth and healing that is so integral to the psychology of their return. The Foundations of Decay is all about moving on from your past, and that’s exactly what this band is doing.

The blazer is darker than the one at the previous two, and the skirt is shorter again. They added a grey trench coat and these elbow-length black leather gloves that are remarkably cunty. I can’t tell if these are the same sunglasses to the Auckland show, or if they just have a few pairs and recycle them through the tour. Ms. Businesswoman has a briefcase, likely the same one as the night before, and I can’t find a good picture of it so please just take my word for it. She’s wearing the same shoes as the previous night.

I actually solved the Gerard Gucci Mystery 8 hours ago (I’ve been working on this for about 10 now). The skirt he wears at this show is shorter than the rest and tweed. I found a Gucci skirt that’s $1975AUD and looks incredibly similar if not exact. If it isn’t this skirt, then it might be the perfume. If it’s not the perfume I’m totally lost.

Fun Fact: This was the show my barber was at. Amy you are so fucking cool.

MELBOURNE NIGHT 1: TERROR “See you in church! I’ll see you in hell! Punish! Punish!... Gorgeous! Gorgeous fucking violence!”

The order of the Australian shows stumped me for a few minutes. Auckland to Brisbane is all fine and dandy, but then they jump down to Melbourne and back up to Sydney instead of travelling down the east coast. Maybe Sydney just has a nicer international airport.

At first glace I thought this was the same blazer/skirt combo as the Auckland show, but the pockets are different. It’s also not dark enough to be the suit from Brisbane2. This is incredibly pedantic, but the Brisbane1 skirt goes past the knees, and this cut sits just above; being able to differentiate the skirt lengths is vital because otherwise it’s fairly difficult to tell what show each photo is from. The shoes are the same pair from the Brisbane shows, and the gloves make yet another appearance. The trench coat also makes a return, and tonight she’s wielding a black umbrella with a dog head on the handle. I’m not looking into it too much. She’s a dog person.

The ‘Terror’ written on the drumhead could refer to the feelings of many at the time of the September 11th attacks. Our Businesswoman character is amid the action, she’s terrified. Also terror as a root word for terrorism, which coincides with war. My immediate thought was ‘Tower of Terror,’ which is a Disney park attraction, but also,,, tower,,,, twin towers.

MELBOURNE NIGHT 2: BARK BARK BARK

This is the first time in 4 shows Gerard has worn a normal outfit, and the last night of him wearing this. As for the drumhead message, we have a few references to dogs, like Gerard howling before House of Wolves at Firefly Festival, but it’s not something to read into. That’s sort of hilarious thing for me to say, considering I wrote about 400 words on the colour green, but I digress.

SYDNEY NIGHT 1: UNKILLABLE

She’s back! She’s bloody! She’s never looked better!

Based on the style and skirt length, I’m confident this is the same outfit as the Melbourne outfit, now with the boots from the Auckland show and no stockings. Most photos of this show will have her with her jacket still on. Our favourite professional woman in back, now with a pretty nasty head wound. Her preceding appearances as Very Much Alive and the incriminating drumhead messages imply that she has perished in the 9/11 attacks. ‘Unkillable’ could reference how this character is a survivor, her inability to die and her curse to continue to walk the earth even after her death. I did make mention of zombies earlier, and how they could be a metaphor for MCR5’s themes of rebirth. As we’ll see, Ms. Businesswoman refuses to be laid to rest. More likely, it’s a reference to Frank Iero’s accident in Sydney that nearly took his life. Copy and paste everything I just said about My Chem weaving their own experiences into the narrative of the concept albums.

SYDNEY NIGHT 2: UNKILLABLES

Our girl is still dead!

This looks to be the same as the Brisbane1 outfit, now with the Auckland boots. She’s bloodied up, and now she’s got these gnarly whiteout contacts that make her look Extra Dead. Like the Brisbane1 show, she loses the jacket at some point, and I think the blood gets sweated off in some of the photos.

Not much to add about the drumhead, could be in reference to the full band; they’ve overcome quite a lot and continue to make art alongside their rocky pasts.

TOKYO: GEMINI

Our girl is extra bloody tonight!

This looks to be the same as the Melbourne outfit with the same heels. Gerard took them off at some point in the show and was walking around barefoot. I learnt this trying to find pictures of this show; just too many with his dogs out. They have both the briefcase and the black umbrella. We have an exponential increase in blood, and a return of the whiteout contacts.

As for ‘Gemini’ it appears fairly left-field because astrology historically hasn’t been a motif within MCR. None of the members are Geminis (I checked, unfortunately), but do you know what the symbol for Gemini is? That’s right. The twins.

My line of thinking is so skewed, genuinely. Maybe Ms. Businesswoman is an astrology girlie.

OSAKA: ENDLESS NIGHT

Exact same outfit as Tokyo, but the blazer comes off, and there’s a little less blood. I’m going to make a flowchart because I’m having the hardest time trying to place all of these photos.

‘Endless Night’ is a lyric from Vampires Will Never Hurt You, which Gerard has cited as their favourite vocal performance they've ever done.

Before I start the spiel, here’s the flowchart:

I see a few potential storylines for MCR5 that centre around the Businesswoman.

The Businesswoman was working in the World Trade Centre when it collapsed, but she was able to make it out. The album would follow her complete mental dissolution in the wake of the events, where she imagined she had died in the attacks. We would explore her reckoning with healing and her eventual rebirth. She is subject to sensationalism from her peers as a woman surrounded by tragedy, which only exacerbates the issues she is having. Only when she has completely broken and dealt with her trauma, she is able to move forwards. Alongside healing, the album would feature anti-war sentiment throughout. We would continue the swarm/rot/vermin/decay imagery as a metaphor for her decline and eventual resolve. This narrative would be more grounded like The Black Parade, but still have fun in its lyricism and concepts.

Alternatively, the Businesswoman perishes in the attacks, but is stuck in a time loop that would have her relive her death over and over again. This could explain why she seems to ‘die’ on tour but continues to come back night after night. We’re painted a vivid picture of our iconic lady in the World Trade Centre succumbing to the rubble as she submits to her fate. In those hazy moments between each restart, she’s greeted with these visions that revisited her past and put her in the place of other women. She’d see herself as Joan of Arc, burning at the stake. She would revisit her glory days as a cheerleader, only to see her perfect image slip through the cracks and distort into who she is today. She would reckon with her hopelessness. How easy it is for her to lie down and let the flames engulf her, but in seeing these visions, she’s filled with a new hope and a bitter vengeance. She thinks of the endless cruelty of war, all the lives it takes, and that rage fuels her. She gets up, and she makes it down the staircase. She lives. The bizarreness of the time loop would allow for some interesting songs. I’m really hoping for a Joan of Arc song, it would be the coolest. Like with the previous idea, we’d have explorations of healing, rebirth, femininity, and war.

Any number of narratives surrounding the Businesswoman could be true. She could be alive or dead. She could be in purgatory. She could die in the attacks or be fighting for her life in a hospital bed. She could be in one of the towers when it collapses or be watching from the curb. The concept could be grounded in a way we haven’t seen before, or twice as insane as Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge. Here’s the concrete facts of the album:

It centres around some professional woman.

She has ties to 9/11.

She is dead or has a close call with death.

She hates war.

She heals and experiences rebirth.

I’ve already made note of how a 9/11 album would tie fantastically with the fabric of the band’s return, but another question arises. Why a woman? Historically, MCR’s concept albums have centred around male characters, such as the male Demolition Lover and the Patient. It’s plausible Gerard just wanted to switch things up a bit, but I think it goes a little deeper than that.

As I mentioned before, Gerard has a longstanding connection to femininity. This is something that was definitely alluded to in the Revenge Era, but it would’ve been dismissed as Typical Emo Androgyny from a non-queer audience. In 2014 they opened up about how they empathised with trans people and women, and that at points in their life they had experienced confusion surrounding their identity.

"I have always been extremely sensitive to those that have gender identity issues as I feel like I have gone through it as well, if even on a smaller scale. I have always identified a fair amount with the female gender, and began at a certain point in MCR to express this through my look and performance style. So it's no surprise that all of my inspirations and style influences were pushing gender boundaries… Masculinity to me has always made me feel like it wasn't right for me."

"I never really subscribed to the archetype masculinity growing up... There was a time where I was called a girl so often that when I discovered the idea of transgenderism I considered myself to be more of a girl. So I identify with trans people and women a lot because I was a girl to a lot of people growing up."

The former quote was from the Reddit AMA, and was followed up with “It was really freeing to be able to talk about gender identity btw.” Representations of female characters on the return tour spark commentary on multiple fronts, a lot on how we view femininity and how society loves to make spectacle of tragic women. This fits in well with how MCR has critiqued masculinity, but I think it also has more emotional value. Portraying these characters has allowed Gerard to express himself in a way that just would not be accessible in the early 2000’s and even the 2010’s. The fact that they’re clean, sober and have gotten professional help (Mikey too) is undoubtedly a reason as for why the whole bands seems to be at their happiest in this era, but I think being able to experiment and express femininity onstage has added another layer of catharsis for Gerard.

Copy and paste AGAIN everything I’ve said about the concept albums being an outlet for the band’s experiences. MCR5 is going to centre around a female character, and I think more explorations of gender identity are incoming. It’s a concept that’s not been so explicitly explored in MCR’s history, and I think Gerard should be given the space to vocalise and represent those experiences on an album. It’s something I believe is alluded to in one particular unlisted song, but more to be said in the next part.

This album is a personal statement from the band, it’s a work of deliverance, a visitation of their ruins and a promise to rebirth. We do not move forward in spite of our pasts; we move forward alongside them.

Dance For You

It was one of the normal nights for you and Seungcheol. A night spent on the couch, enjoying each other's company. You both wanted to make the most of this night because it would be the last time you would see one other for a while.

Seungcheol is going on tour with seventeen and your schedule is just as hectic. With him being a part of one of the biggest boy groups and you being a well-known dancer/choreographer, it was bound for both of you to have very busy lives. You really didn't mind Seungcheol's absence; you were more concerned with his performance than with his absence, and he didn't mind your absence either; he was more proud of the fact that you were scheduling performances.

You noticed Seungcheol's gaze straying off somewhere else as you talked about the newest events in your life.

“Ok, what’s up” You asked, interrupting Seungcheols thoughts.

“Ahh.. Nothing” Seungcheol replies with a nervous smile.

“Come on Seungcheol, you got something on your mind , so you might as well just say it now or forever hold your peace.” You suggested with a giggle.

“Fine” Seungcheol cried in defeat.

“You’re like one of the best dancers I’ve ever known, and I know you danced for like thousands of people….” Seungcheol said as you nod, agreeing to every word he says.

“But you never dance for me.” he said with wonder.

“You’re right.” you replied with realization, slowly catching on what Seungcheol was going on about.

“So what about it?” you question the puzzled man

“I want you to dance for me.” he said in a direct voice.

You knew where this conversation was leading to but the request still put you at a pause.

“Right Now? I can’t do it right now, I have to prepare” You said in a panicked mess.

“No no no.” Seungcheol said, reassuring you.

You sighed in relief as Seungcheol laughed at your little episode. You both agreed to do your performance for him as soon as he gets back from tour, so you have as much time to plan for it.

Seungcheol was on tour, and you spent too much time looking for a song while he was gone. The tour was halfway finished by the time you chose a song, and the other half was spent learning the dance. Normally, learning a choro would take you a few days max, but you wanted to make sure everything was perfect. He deserves nothing but the best after working so hard.

The big day had arrived, and you had everything prepared, right down to the room, lighting, and clothes. Seungcheol texted you saying he'd be home about 8 p.m., allowing you time to go through everything again.

You soon hear seungcheol enter the home,as you put on your Outfit. “Hey Y/N, I’m back” Seungcheol yelled.

“Oh great, go to the room and take a seat on the couch, i'll be there in a minute.” You said

“Alright” seungcheol giggled

Seungcheol made his way to the room and made himself comfortable on the couch, staring at the chair in front of him.

*que music*

You slowly walked out the bathroom connecting to the room, heading to your position on the chair. Seungcheol's eyes were on nothing but you, watching every move you made. You began the choreography making sure to not let your nerves take over. You make eye contact with him to see if he was enjoying it and you can tell from the smirk on his face that he was loving every moment.

Your performance soon came to an end and you stood up to give a small bow to relieve yourself from the nervousness.

“That was freaking amazing!” Seungcehol said while standing up and clapping.

“ You like it?” You question him as he comes towards you with open arms.

“Of course I like it. Thank you so much.” Seungcheol said while holding close.

“ It was nothing” you scoffed.

“ Can you do it again? I want to record it and show it to the guys” Seungcheol asked with amazing attempt at puppy eyes

“Sure” you replied.

Seungcheol would not stop giving you compliments and asking you to teach him the choreography the rest of the night.

ARCH ENEMY's MICHAEL AMOTT Pays Tribute To DARK ANGEL's JIM DURKIN: 'Nicest Guy In Thrash? I Think So'

ARCH ENEMY's Michael Amott has paid tribute to DARK ANGEL guitarist Jim Durkin, who died this past Wednesday (March 8) at the age of 58.

Earlier today (Saturday, March 11),Amott took to his Instagram to share a photo of Durkin, and he included the following message: "Nicest guy in Thrash? I think so… I have fond memories of hanging with Jim and his lovely wife Annie. Food and (much needed) showers at their house during the slightly rough-and-tumble days of ARCH ENEMY tours back in the early 2000's. He had a big heart, that's for sure.

"One night after an LA show he stormed backstage and excitedly told us he'd had a lengthy conversation with John Sykes, a guitarist we both admired, on the balcony while we played. How cool.

"Jim always remained a fan, a kind and humble dude with a great taste in Metal music and guitar.

"58 is way too young to go.

"Thanks for the mighty DARK ANGEL, and most of all for being you! Safe travels Jim! "

Jim's passing was confirmed by his wife Annie on his Facebook page on Friday (March 10). She wrote: "With a broken and heavy heart, I want to share that the love of my life, my best friend and husband, Jimmy, passed away Wednesday morning. He was not alone as I was with him along with a few close friends until the end. He will be truly missed and no one can ever replace the love I have for him. May he rest in peace.

"Ever Thine, Ever Mine, Ever Ours……. My Immortal Beloved. I will see you again."

A short time later, DARK ANGEL also issued a statement on Durkin's passing, writing: "We in the DARK ANGEL Family are deeply saddened and crushed today with the news of our brother and founder Jimmy Durkin passing away Wednesday morning.

"We would like to thank his fans for their continuous loyalty and support. We will come out with a full statement very soon. We ask that you please respect the family's privacy while we mourn the loss of this great man."

An original member of DARK ANGEL, Durkin played on the band's first three albums — 1985's "We Have Arrived", 1986's "Darkness Descends" and 1989's "Leave Scars" — before departing the group in 1989. He was part of DARK ANGEL's lineup when the band reformed in 2013, and had been playing with them ever since.

Durkin had been sitting out some of DARK ANGEL's recent gigs. He was replaced at the shows by drummer Gene Hoglan's wife Laura Christine.

DARK ANGEL, which has been touring intermittently since reforming a decade ago, is scheduled to perform its legendary album "Darkness Descends" in its entirety at three special concerts next month at the Teragram Ballroom in Los Angeles, California.

For much of the last few years, Durkin and his bandmates had been working on material for a new studio album.

DARK ANGEL's first CD since 1991's "Time Does Not Heal" was supposed to feature the lineup that has performed sporadic live shows since reuniting in 2013: Hoglan, Durkin, Eric Meyer (guitar),Ron Rinehart (vocals) and Michael Gonzalez (bass).

In February 2022, Hoglan said during a Twitch livestream from his home that he and his DARK ANGEL bandmates were "in the process" of making a new album. "I have a lot of work ahead of me, and so does Jim Durkin," Gene said. "He's been sending over songs, riffs, stuff like that, [which has been] super exciting. We're all of the same mindset of making this just the most absolutely kick-ass DARK ANGEL record that we can."

DARK ANGEL released two albums with Don Doty on vocals — the aforementioned "We Have Arrived" and "Darkness Descends" — before he exited the group and was replaced by Rinehart (after a brief stint with Jim Drabos in 1987). The band issued two more studio LPs — "Leave Scars" and "Time Does Not Heal" — before calling it quits in 1992.

10. A Sterling Murmuration | Zoon

Hazy shoegaze, nostalgic and soothing.

9. My Bestfriend’s House | Blue Hawaii

Dance-worthy! Was pleasantly surprised by the disco track at the beginning.

8. graves | Purity Ring

Standard Purity Ring fare, squealing croons atop haunting, euphoric synths.

7. SICK! | Earl Sweatshirt

A return of the meandering depressedcore hip hop we love. Dizzy and ephemeral soundscapes flit in and out like thoughts through an anxious mind.

6. La Ciudad de Dejamos | Fin del Mundo

Liquid guitars against balmy drumwork make for some really nice 90s-nostalgia shoegaze. Music like a cool summer night.

4 & 5. Kris, Perfect Order | KÅRP

Good ole dark Scandinavian synthpop. What would we do without you.

3. Ninety Three | Taylar Elizza Beth

Low key, lush hip-hop featuring Taylar Elizza Beth’s whispery vocals that float between rap and croon.

2. Raving Dahlia | Sevdaliza

Sevdaliza’s back with her signature inexorable smoky ballads. These tracks are a little dancier, a little heavier than those of her most recent album, though, while retaining her unique style.

1. Bloodline | Gabriels

(December 2021) Gabriels singlehandedly bringing back The Blues in the year of our lord 2021, why not? Meticulously vintage, with the agonized, raw-yet-finely-tuned vocal stylings of Jacob Lusk—one of the absolute best vocalists of our age, seriously. Southern gothic sin, baby.

27. Arkhon | Zola Jesus

It’s a Zola Jesus record, which means I like it. But I find myself never getting into any particular moment. Maybe it’ll take more time to sink in, maybe it’s just lacking stand-out tracks to anchor the album. Music like spelunking.

26. Entropy is the Mainline to God | The Veldt

The Veldt comes back rocking and rolling. I was hoping for something more shoegazy like their old stuff rather than the psychedelia-tinged 80’s metal sound they’ve got going here, but hell, it’s groovy!

25. Arrangements | Preoccupations

Previous album was a little one-note, but this one veers into some interesting spaces as it pushes and pulls with the distortion. Jaunty.

24. The Silence in Between | Bob Moses

Bouncin introspective dance music. It’s not original but it’s full of bops!

23. Loom | Uèle Lamore

Earthy yet ethereal blooms of instrumentation. Lovely to listen to, but for some reason lacks memorability.

22. Black Radio III | Robert Glasper

An eclectic tour de force featuring a stellar variety of guest spots atop Glasper’s production. Although a lot of tracks are fantastic, the album doesn’t quite cohere as a whole for me.

21. Once Twice Melody | Beach House

Beach House made a Beach House record, and it’s great. The same subdued, affectionate, dreamy sound we love.

20. 11 | Sault

The only Sault album I liked of the six they released this year ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ It’s excellent though, love the down-tempo jamminess of the instrumentation and the thoughtful, murmuring vocals.

19. Broken Hearts Club | Syd

Vaped torch songs for your local lesbian fuckboy to play in the background while getting down. Syd comes through once again.

18. Only After You Have Suffered | Jamire Williams

(December 2021) Contemplative, choppy jazz with phenomenal hip hop and operatic interludes. “Pause in His Presence” in particular is something else.

17. Kanawha Black | Nechochwen

Indigenous-made atmospheric folk/black metal. Expansive melodies invoking the Appalachian forests meld with the harsh vocal texture to create a space of reverence and awe.

16. EBM | Editors

Delivering on that punchy aughts-nostalgia stadium rock. Head boppin rhythms and gushy pop-punk hooks.

15. Laurel Hell | Mitski

Mellow sounds that swirl around the main maelstroms of the album, cracking at the seams and letting the rawness soak through.

14. Plastic Estate | Plastic Estate

Slick and infectious 80s-nostalgia new wave that you just gotta sing along to. Very special when the singer sinks into a baritone.

13. Cool It Down | Yeah Yeah Yeahs High-energy-yet-dreamy punky indiepop. Some great anthems on this one.

12. Too Much to Ask | Cheekface Cheeky pop-punk that’s like scrolling through a quality twitter funnyman’s feed. Hilarious and full of bops.

11. Exister | The Soft Moon

A cold counterpoint from the California goth scene, starts off slow before cranking up an onslaught of noise that thrums between industrial and darkwave. Angry and cathartic.

10. Ravage | Emilie Levienaise-Farrouch

Every tug of Krug’s voice strains with emotion, and every turn he takes with the instrumentation on different albums is a welcome surprise, finding different ways to express his agonized sentimentality.

8. Giving the World Away | Hatchie Earnestly saccharine power-dreampop. Great album with some real bangers.

7. We’ve Been Going About This All Wrong | Sharon Van Etten Warm and husky, sad and poignant folk songs. Van Etten’s voice soars with transcendant emotion.

6. The Runner (Original Soundtrack) | Boy Harsher

Spooky and sleek darkwave, punctuated by a sparkly disco banger. Boy Harsher at the top of their form.

5. Angels & Queens - Part 1 | Gabriels

Jacob Lusk delivering that wonderful vintage, Nina Simone-esque vocal quality, with the opening tracks fast-forwarded from last year’s bluesy EP to some funky 70’s soul. Gorgeous and blue.

4. Ever Crashing | SRSQ

Gushy dark California gothy dreampop. Infectiously synthy, powerful vocals. Lush songs for a heart that’s itching for summers long past.

3. Stay Close to Music | Mykki Blanco

A humble confessional, at times diving back into the idiosyncratic rapping style of Blanco’s more dance-y earlier releases, at times plunging into an ethereal wash of sound.

2. Semblance | MorMor

There is something magical about MorMor’s tissue-paper-delicate voice. Gentle, sensitive, cathartic. Music for letting go when you so want to hold on.

TR did not attend Mitches show, her play was on. A photo leaked of Harry at the start of the show and TR came before it ended. Harry left with her, a crowd yelled her name and it looked like they argues in the car. Harry was walking alone an hour later. First time seen in a month.

new year, same post

so... 2022 huh?

i didn't even write a reflection post last year (well i tried but i never finished writing it) which i'm kinda really sad about because i really like having these snapshots of where i am at in my life every year... and i feel like i'm missing a year! because i am! so while i can't do a whole reflection of 2021, i can do my best and that's the best anyone can do

so 2021 was the start, crawling out of the hellscape that was 2020... in terms of overall quality, 2021 was a major improvement from the previous year. to make things easier, first i'll go thru what i actually accomplished on my list of goals i made at the end of 2020:

☑️ read new books: my goal was 10 and i read 8, three of which were comics/graphic novels and one was a road trip guide book? so technically i read more than before

☑️ watch new shows/movies: i made a letterboxd to keep track of what i watched instead of the notebook idea i had and i watched 48 movies/tv shows !!! wowie that's pretty good i never counted that out b4 :D

☑️ listen to new music: my spotify wrapped had very much different music than previous years so i did the dang thing too ...it uh... got flooded by OM music cuz i had a phase in the summer but other than that its all pretty diverse !

☑️ eat new food: i had kbbq for the first time in 2021 so i think that counts?

☑️ go on a road trip/visit some place ive never been before/go to a club: so i planned a pretty spontaneous trip to LA cuz i saw an ad on Instagram for a city pop night at a club in DTLA... i thought it was a rare thing (turns out it ain't lol) so i got my friends to go and it was really fun and i knocked these 3 things out in one go (tho the road trip one is a little ehh bc we didn't make any stops, we just drove ¯\_(ツ)_/¯) bc i've never been to little tokyo and it was in a club! so check!!

so as far as goals go that's pretty good! other notable highlights of the year include:

⭐ i passed my drivers test (after failing the first time lol) and got a car that i love so dang much!

⭐ tried dating (the first time) and it didn't get far lol (that's on me)

⭐ karaoke night after not seeing people in person for over a year

⭐ played d&d in-person again finally

⭐ HELLA MEGA TOUR!! THAT WAS TIGHT AF 10/10 would recommend

⭐ saw lindsay and kaveh at a book signing event that was pretty cool !! (still have to read the book lol;;)

so yeah ! it was pretty great, all things considered... i think around this time last year covid cases were surging and things were feeling bad again so my perspective of the year was tainted by that cloud but looking back, i think i had a pretty good run...

i had made another, separate doc as a kinda goal list ? but i never finished it either lmao but i did put 3 things on it:

🌠 read more (surprise surprise)

🌠 write something

🌠 join a club at school

i said 2021 would be the year of new and i think i accomplished that

SO 2022 HUH??

thats what this whole thing was supposed to be about lol

lotta stuff happened... started off strong by getting covid (lol), went to big bear for the first time, technically saw snow (on the ground) for the first time, saw remi TWICE in ONE YEAR, tried dating again (still didn't get very far), saw ORI AGAIN FINALLY, hung out with pals A LOT, ate good food, got really (back) into comics this year??, worked full time at the library this summer, got over my stupid crush FINALLY, went to 3 conventions - 1 of which being COMIC CON... anD OH YEAH I GOT PROMOTED!! pretty accomplished i would say

as far as my goals from last year i actually accomplished something!! and hey 2 outta 3 ain't bad ;^)

i reached my reading goal with 13/12 !! granted 5 of them were graphic novels again but i stuck with my book club (kinda;;) and read some stuff!! i started a lot more books than i finished this year but i want to push myself harder next year (this year)!! my want-to-read list on GoodReads is 500+ and that hasn't even been updated recently!! i gotta step my game up man,, i think i decided i want to try to be an editor someday so i gotta go for it!!

did i write something this year??? in fact i fucking did!! i wrote fanfiction even!! something i srsly never thought i would actually accomplish... and i started a first real draft for J+M and got thru most of the first "season" of that!! so that's cool!! i wanna write more!! i found this writing tracker like halfway thru the year and was trying to add to it retroactively but it was hard so i don't know exactly how many words i wrote this year BUT it's more than 40k!! so WOW!! I'll keep better track this year so we can know fr fr

if 2021 was the year trying new things, 2022 seemed to be the year of getting used to the new normal bc surprise!! covid is still around!! but ig it'll be endemic now instead of a pandemic bc we couldn't fucking eradicate it 🙄 whatever...

the last couple months of 2022 kinda painted the whole year a somber color but looking back, i can see that i had a really good time for the most part... i hope 2023 will be nice :^)

SO... GOALS:

🎆 read more!! let's keep the ball rolling! 12 more!! once a month!!! and i'm not gonna add comics unless i've read a real book with words first!!!!

🎆 write more!! no goals let's just see what happens :^) i hope that maybe some fandom interaction will motivate me bc i love attention and praise!!! also my secret writing project 👀

🎆 apply to transfer to university next year!! this was supposed to happen this year but... shit happened yk

🎆 do stuff with friends!! gotta keep it up bb: NYC, hot springs, see snow, MKE??, LA

🎆 make new friends?? perhaps??? 👀 idk!!!

i will end this post with all the movies i'm super fucking pumped to see this year: M3GAN, the mario movie, the D&D movie, the BARBIE movie!!, new transformers movie??, blue beetle movie, SPIDERVERSE MOVIE!!!!!!!!!

it'll be a good year for me for movies ❤️
