so i may not be as much into fnaf now as i used to when i was younger but ive always been baffled that nobody has made a dinosaur themed fnaf fan game?? i may just be autistic for these sillies but i love the concept of it so much :D it makes sense for me because dinosaurs are popular with kids and popular in horror and irl there are a lot of dinosaur animatronics. so my concept here is that somewhere in utah fazbear entertainment collaborated with a fictional museum to make an educational dinosaur themed restaurant! also every dino robot is a species that can be found in utah! So first we have Utahraptor. It was made to show off more birdlike theories and was given a voicebox that can record voices to repeat them back like those toys that do it but due to being haunted can mimic voices. they slowly stalk the player and intentionally mess with them, toying with their prey. (this was made before the mimic lmao)
Next is Camarasaurus! this animatronic is HUGE and in a kid's cove type area all to itself. because its so big the engineers only made its neck, head and tail robotic while its body is a plastic frame. At night it detaches its neck/head from its body and slithers through the vents. also here's a plushie of little dude!
Next is Diabloceratops. this one is the most haunted and possibly possessed by a demon. its body moves in unnatural ways and it frequently will move with its limbs on backwards or upside down. it also has some kind of strange parasite type thing in it similar to ennard spaghetti. this design is probably my favorite and the one that freaks me out the most, inspired by the not-deer cryptid and demonic possession.
And lastly the only withered animatronic, Akainacephalus ! :D they are inspired by slinky toys and poltergeists. this guy has a fnaf 2 puppet type role in the cast and sits right outside the office and doesn't move much unless its activated. i dont have much lore for them yet but i still love little dude! I also plan to add Ceratosaurus, Tenontosaurus, and Stegosaurus!
There is also Archie! He is an Archaeopteryx and the only member of the cast who is not found in Utah and is the education mascot of the museum :D he has an almost helpy like role and only shows up on posters, art, screens and as a plushie. :D
I dont know if this game will ever come out but i wanted to share my concept somewhere on the internet :D

A few more starfield verticals from weeks past. Seeing Aceles in the wild was so cool
#I applied zero philosophy to the pathogen question and went with aceles purely on the off chance that they'd be a possible encounter#and I played disappointed for a good 30+ levels after that until suddenly one just appeared all majestic-like#lovely creature design. they're like turian sauropods#starfield#my shots

Ok yeah I am definitely enjoying this game.
#it also has just the right balance of cozy/chill of a farm sim to not stress me out (yet)#despite my love for carnivores I have none as of yet#also sadly no sauropods or spino in the game- but tbf they did try/consider to add them in early development#ramblings#paleo pines#I was worried I wouldn't enjoy the game since the letsplays I was seeing kind of dulled my eyes out#luckily I was wrong

also the fact that large predators didnt prey on sauropods often because they were so big and hard to take down definitely helped them survive. theres a reason they dominated the jurassic until larger predators could evolve to be large enough to kill them
also! argentinosaurus is THE largest creature ever discovered. heres a couple pictures i grabbed from online.
not many fossils have been discovered, but paleontologists are skilled at determining the size of a creature based on a few fossils. the first image shows us in white what weve actually discovered of them. iirc its only 13 bone fragments, most of which are vertebrae, some of which are fragmented pieces of the leg bones (mostly the femur, tibia, and fibula). the femur, being the largest bone in many creatures, is actually fantastic to have because thats what paleontologists use to determine how much an animal might have weighed when it was alive.
the second image is purely a reconstruction of the parts we did find and what has been speculated to be the build of the dinosaur. it's not only possible, but very likely that we're completely wrong about things like the shape and size of the skull for example. only time and a lot of luck will tell us for sure. hopefully we're lucky enough that another specimen will be found that was buried soon enough for a more complete fossil to have formed and we can learn more about this amazing beast.
similar to oversized sauropods, the mesozoic era also gave us small sauropods. one of my favorite little sauropods is rinconsaurus
look at them! classic sauropod configuration, but small enough that its essentially a giraffe. the mere fact that this is a small sauropod and its still the height of a person at its hips is so awesome.
part of the coolest things about sauropods and other herbivorous creatures from the jurassic is that they all had the ecosystem nicely split up. no one was stepping on each others toes. there were a lot of dinosaurs in one area and they all had plenty to eat despite the popularity density. not only did the long necks of the suropods allow them to grow big by moving less, but it also gave them access to a whole new area of food that they had little competition for because no one else could reach it
everyone give it up for evolution. it comes up with some really awesome shit
y'all ever think about how insane the sauropods were
#sorry for the rant. yall activated my trap card#also you will not believe the level of excitement that coursed through my veins when i saw the argentinosaurus leg in that picture#i love them so much theyre so fucking cool#i will take any opportunity possible to talk about them#arlos and dinos#undescribed#<- except i kind of also describe the images but theres no proper description or alt text#argentinosaurus#also id like to say that i talk about this dinosaur enough that my phone knows what im talking about when i type 'arge'#also. yes op. i think about the sauropods so often. they were so cool for literally no reason#cute little buggers#edited to fix typos#sorry yall had to see those. i was too excited abt dinosaurs on the dash to proof read

some favourite shots I did for episode 6... it was so fun crafting the final bridge scene from Travis' script, and seriously all the credit for the amazing opening seq goes to our EP Aaron for taking the emotion in Yaz's exposure therapy to the next level!
Inspo for this ep mainly came from the Alebrijes attack and car chase boards from the Coco blu-ray deleted scenes. Seriously yall, if you're an aspiring board artist, go watch those, they're all masterclasses in camera, framing, and acting.
Some thoughts below about these boards if yall are interested...
Becklespinaxes - there was a LOT of research that went into becklespinaxes (aka altispinaxes) to make this bridge scene happen. In the original script, there was the idea that Blondie (the yellow becklespinax) would be ramming and spinning the side of the van all over the bridge from the beginning, all while ben was still driving forward and Sammy was trying to climb the side latter of the van and into Yaz's window. - I think in writing it made for a really rad scene, but there were some concerns that the physics of all of that, as well as some staging issues, so I dove into becklespinax research to see if some of these problems could be fixed by grounding the conflict in the dino's hunting/attack styles - From what I can remember, as a mid-sized theropod, the becklespinax would've hunted small sauropods and the like, not van-sized dinos, so having her ramming the side of the van was out. Instead, I theorized the becklespinax would more likely be interested in rooting out the tastey treats inside, like a bird fishing out grubs from inside a tree or log. Thus, Blondie jamming her head into the window was born - From there on I tried to keep the van-and-dino physics and behaviours as grounded as possible, but i'll be the first to admit that physics was never my strong suit and sometimes the plot's just gotta come first over science
One detail I loved that unfortunately seemed to get passed over in animation was the way the second becklespinax, Brownie, entered the shot from behind the camera, and covered up the "NOW LEAVING DINOSAUR FREE ZONE" to just be "NOW DINOSAUR ZONE". Corny, I know! But it felt right and I was heartbroken to see that it wasn't caught in time to be able to go back and change it
Also no heart by sammy's name on yaz's phone :( idk why, sorry gang
About boards, an interesting thing to keep in mind was that even though this bridge may seem like a pretty isolated and simple set, there were actually several moments/shots that I didn't end up using because they revealed too much of the background, specifically the exterior island set and the exterior mainland sets that connected to the bridge! That's right, in the actual set models, those parts are just the cliff ledges and a bit on the sides, everything else would have to be what's called a paintover. That's something for aspiring storyboard artists to keep in mind about working on 3D TV shows: the sets come before storyboards in the pipeline, so often you have to make what you want to do work to the set, and not the other way around like in feature!

Curiosities pt.3: Museum - Now Free!.
Hello hi! I'm so excited to finally share the third part of the Curiosities set with you! This set is something that i feel like i just want to keep working on and on, mostly because i love the theme and working on the meshes has been so fun! But i will take a small break from this set so i can find fresher ideas for the next and final part of it, and i will start working on the manga set! (The poll ended on a tie, but decided to start with the manga set since its the one that received more comments and suggestions! (: looking foward to start working on it!)
---
I want to share credits to the sources i used to create this pack:
*Most of my dinosaur exhibits were inspired by real life reconstructions displayed on museums, including the Royal Tyrrell Museum in Canada (x), the Natural History Museum in London (x), the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago (x) and Helsinki's Natural History Museum in Finland (x).
*I used Scott Hartman's work (x) in order to see the reconstructions in 2D, sadly since i needed to lower the polygons on my meshes i couldn't preserve as much detail on the dinosaurs, but if you are interested to learn more i highly encourage you to visit his page.
*If you are interested in learning more about the loss of Stromer's Spinosaurus during WWII here is a link that shares its story (x).
*For some swatches on the info panels i used my own edited screenshots from Prehistoric Kingdom's Game, you can find it on Steam! (Currently in early access).

Playing a bit of catchup after taking a break from...everything yesterday. But I did want to draw my fave dino group, the sauropods. Dreadnoughtus was one of the sauropods I actually got to work with for a bit during school, and I loved prehistoric planets take on them. @1dinodaily

sometimes i wake up and i remember that I LOVE DINOSAURS !!!!!! RAAAAGHHHH !!!!!!! anyways anyone else ever think about the kem kem beds. because i do.
kem kem beds save me. save me kem kem beds. the disproportionate split between large herbivores and megatheropods enamors me. what do you mean theres just only sauropods and no other large herbivores. what do you mean theres like 20 different large theropod species running around at the same time. why are there fish that damn BIG. what even are noasaurids. also spinosaurus is here.
kem kem group so fine kem kem group divine. my roman empire is thinking about how the ecosystem of the kem kem beds was so incredibly diverse that it allowed for all of these different VERY LARGE carnivores to coexist because they all occupied different niches in the environment. which just totally crumbles the stereotype of Big Theropod Deathmatch because uh yeah, sorry jw bros, we have proof of some of the largest theropods in history all living in the same place at the same time!!! successfully!!! animals do not just go around beefing and fighting one another 24/7, especially carnivores. carcharodontosaurus and spinosaurus are not fistfighting everytime they see one another. spinosaurus is busy sleeping like a log on the riverbank and carchar is just coming by to get a drink. carchar accidentally steps on spino's tail and the spino snaps at it but misses completely because its half asleep and stupid. carchar walks away. they are just animals !!! and every ecosystem is incredibly complex and i love that even though we only have fossils and rocks to go off of this fact is SO evident across the globe but kem kem beds is so special to me. in my heart. anyways very rough sketch to go along with this train of thought.
i miss you kem kem beds. sighs dreamily

Round 1 - Phylum Nemertea
(Sources - 1, 2, 3, 4)
Animals in the Phylum Nemertea, commonly known as “Ribbon Worms” or “Proboscis Worms,” are small and mostly slim with a venomous proboscis that everts just above to mouth to capture prey.
There are about 1,300 known species of nermertean. Most nemerteans are carnivores, feeding on annelids, clams, and crustaceans. Some species are scarvengers. Some species are filter feeders that utilize a sucker at the front and back ends of their bodies to attach to a host. Most nemerteans detect the world through the use of chemoreceptors, but some species have simple eyes that allow them to distinguish light from dark. They move slowly, using cilia to walk on a trail of slime. Some larger species can “slither.” Many are brightly colored and patterned. Most nemerteans are marine, living in either the open ocean or on the sea floor, but some species are freshwater, and some are even terrestrial.
Propaganda under the cut:
Previously, nemerteans were split into two groups by whether they had a “little dagger” on their proboscis or not. (This classification no longer applies as one of the “unarmed” orders was closer related to the “armed” group than the rest of the “unarmed” group. It’s still fun to imagine worms with little daggers tho.)
The Bootlace Worm (Lineus longissimus) (seen in the first image) is one of the longest known animals, with specimens up to 55 m (180 ft) long being reported. This is longer than the Lion’s Mane Jellyfish, the sauropod dinosaurs Argentinosaurus and Patagotitan, and the record-holding longest Blue Whale. Like other nemerteans, the Bootlace Worm can also stretch up to 10 times its resting length. They’re not considered the largest animals though, because they’re only 5 to 10 mm (0.20 to 0.39 in) wide!
As a defense against predators, the Bootlace Worm produces a toxic mucus which contains a strong neurotoxin and smells faintly of “iron or sewage.” The mucus has been shown to kill arthropods, and is being studied for its use as a natural pesticide.
Some larger species can regenerate, breaking into pieces when disturbed, after which the fragments can grow into full individuals!
Some nemerteans have a branched proboscis that comes out as a “mass of sticky spaghetti” that can then be used to pull prey into its mouth. If you love horror movies, this is the animal for you! I’m not easily grossed out, but I genuinely can’t stomach this video, so viewer discretion is advised! (Thankfully, this one didn’t have a “little dagger.”
#animal polls#round 1#how come before I typed anything in the gif search bar Brennan Lee Mulligan was the first gif Tumblr suggested I use#anywaaaay#i am genuinely sorry but these are some of the only animals that give me the Ick#the colorful ones are nice and I am impressed by the bootlace worms length#and the ones with ocelli have cute little faces#but that spaghetti proboscis is Just#A Lot#and I wasn’t about to use THAT as a gif so you get living intestines instead

Originally I chose the word "use." I found "adopt" was the more loving word that matched my intentions closer.
I don't want acceptance, or tolerance. I want people to be willing to make space in their hearts and communities, like an adoption, for alternative pronouns.
I am not begging here. Only just surrendering pain to Ultrasaurus.

dont know if this has been suggested yet (Ive seen a lot of people give suggestions) but I know there were a few sauropods that were planned to be added and they were my favorite designs with the little head saddles. what if we got a biome with giant trees where we could get special fruit/leaves/resources with the help of tall sauropods or we could get big logs with the sauropods that arent as tall? ... I just really want to pet the sauropods too (brachiosaurus is one of my favorite dinosaurs)
Ooo this is so cute (I would love to pet the sauropods too)!!
