this is just an excerpt for a dabi-centric modern au fic I am doing in the future
the scent wafts in, her name making him beg on his knees prologue
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: dabi/todoroki touya x fem!reader/oc (MODERN AU)
summary: He mentions her name after 6 months in therapy, absentmindedly narrating vivid memories of her. She was the only good thing during his darkest times.
(In which Touya returns home after rebelling against his family for 7 years. And no, it wasn't about forgiveness. He wanted to fix himself because of a certain someone.)
themes: co-dependency, self-destructive behavior, toxic relationships, nsfw, family issues, violence
He touches her like she was water, like rain in the desert, like he was parched and she the only cure in his quenching thirst. He had always wanted to ruin her, sink her down in his level as all he knew was destroy himself further. Fuck his lungs. Fuck his liver. Fuck his life. He would die rebelling against the world, watching it burn in front of him as he drowns in pleasure of holding her in his arms.
Dabi—no; tonight, there would be no lies. Tonight, he finally allowed her a secret he kept to himself. She was sighing, a mere whisper in the dark because she had always been like that to him. She was his little secret, the good thing that made sense in his messy brain, that one thing that urged him to feel even if he was numb.
"Touya," he coaxed her, confusing her as he gingerly wiped the tears absentmindedly running from her cheeks. "Call me by my name. My name's Touya."
She immediately understood, sniffing through the tears as she nodded and tried her best. Touya," she called like she was testing the waters. It felt weird, but the name suited him; fitted him more than Dabi. "Touya," she tried again, and her voice was a lot gentler, like she was seeing the real him, the real boy beneath his ruined self.
"Touya…"
Love, he thought, wanting a taste of it, fucking hurts so bad.
"I'll kiss you," he said, not needing her answers anymore. Touya will take what he wanted when he wanted it. He wasn't being nice in the first place anyway.
They were naked in each other's arms, her finger on his lips as she let him savor her taste, memorizing it in his head as his touch ghosted behind her back to pull her close. He won't let go for tonight. She was his, and he was hers. He could never run away from this anymore.
Love was a taste of a shitty medicine; made him feel better yet rendered him bitter.
He couldn't outright tell her he would be leaving for a while, something about "fixing his shit because he didn't want to hurt any further." The old times when he would destroy things in fits of anger, lash out his frustrations at her even though it wasn't her fault, and nestling up to her because she was a fucking saint and she was always so understanding even though he didn't deserve it.
But Todoroki Touya was selfish. He wanted her, so bad. So bad he hated her, hated how she would just smile, hated how she would still insist on him staying even though his mere presence around her hurt.
"Don't forget me. Don't be someone else's," he begged in between kisses as he laid her down on their shared bed. He didn't have to do that, but he had to be sure. All his life, he was never chosen. He was tired of being second best. He was done seeking approval.
But he wanted her, so for her, he did.
She was so lost in hazy pleasure that all she could do was nod and let him do whatever he wanted.
Just be mine. Be mine only.
"Touya…"
Touya…
Didn't you know?
I have always been yours.

May I request Tsukasa, Akito, and Touya with a magician s/o?
Of course! The reasons I choose oneshot is the same as for recent Blue Lock post... I feel like it's just more interesting than headcanons that'd most likely repeat! But anyway... I hope you'll like it nonetheless! <3
Also sorry for making Tsukasa so short!!
Akito, Toya, Tsukasa with magician!reader
TagList: @bleachtheidiot @yulikesminori @miya-akane @kuzui5201314 @coffeeykhs @alicewinterway18
Tumblr media
When you performed in front of Akito, he'd always bring you down with his words by saying how it's not impressive at all and that he knows it's simple illusion. But he's really just too amazed to admit it. He only guesses that it's illusion, to explain how you did it to himself since you refuse to tell him.
But you weren't the one to give up... you made it your goal to impress him and make him say it out loud!
"See? It appeared from nothing!"
"You're not fooling anyone Y/N... it's 3rd time I'm seeing it..."
"Well maybe but this time, I also made something of yours disappear!"
"What? Where's my phone?!"
You proudly revealed his phone in your hand thinking that this is the trick that will impress him! But it looks like he found something to complain about either way...
"It's called stealing, not magic."
"I gave it back tho!"
"And you're lucky that you did..."
You sighed as the ginger complained once again. But then he said something you kinda didn't expected...
"But... how did you do it?"
Tumblr media
Toya was always the type to look closely to your tricks and despite the fact that he usually figured out how you did it, he still had that surprised expression on his face when you performed one.
You swear you performed this trick like 8th time this week or so and he wasn't looking as if he was about to get bored of it anytime soon. But it's not like you mind, he looked cute when he had that surprised expression on his face.
"Tada~ rabbit's out!"
Your boyfriend gave you a small applause as his eyes were in awe, as if he didn't knew how you did that...
"That's amazing! If I didn't knew myself, I'd be ready to mistake it for real magic... Could you do it again?"
You let our a small sigh, you were getting just a bit tired of that but you could never refuse him.
"Sure..."
Boys eyes lighted up at your statement, he was clearly excited to see it again. You were thinking of surprising him and taking something else out of your hat instead of a rabbit... maybe next time you can get a box of cookies ready for him? He'd definitely get pleasantely surprised by that!
Tumblr media
Tsukasa was like your biggest supporter and assistant in one! He always begged you to let him help you around while you perform magic tricks, especially when you do it in front of someone.
So that's how you ended up practicing your magic tricks, with your boyfriend as your assistant in your room. He seemed really excited to be helping you around, just like always actually.
"And then... tada~!"
"Hold up! You didn't show me that trick before! How did you do that?!"
"That's a secret~"
"Oh c'mon, I'm your assistant! Can't I at least get a small hint?"
"Maybe some other time!"
He loves discovering your new tricks to the point he'll brag you about it and try to guess it for the next few days untill he either guesses it or you tell him to stop. Because he will keep going as long as you let him!

🧸When They’re Dads🧸
Part two —> part one
Characters: Shoto, Izuku, Dabi x GN!Reader
I’m back! This was kinda requested… idk. I went off the rails a bit with this one. Can you tell I love making Dabi save people who have crappy lives? Cause I do…I fucking love the idea…this darker then my past Dad post. SO IF YOU ARE SENSITIVE TO CERTAIN TOPICS, don’t read Dabis!!! Ideas are always welcomed, I hope you enjoy.!
Warning: Talk/ mention of child abandonment
❄️ Shoto 🔥
Tumblr media
“Hey Hello there Little one.”
“You’re beautiful”
Shoto never really saw himself as someone who would have a family. There was a lot of unaddressed trauma that seemed to make any idea of a family impossible. Yet years later, here he is. Holding his 2nd baby boy, swaddled in a baby blue blanket. And 3 years after, Shotos is holding a baby girl.
Her Small hands grasp mindlessly at long strands of red and white mixed hair.
Funnily enough, all three of your children have different colored hair and refer to your husband in different ways. And it’s honestly adorable.
“Daddy”- youngest who has your hair color and two stripes of a lighter color in the front.
“Dad or Dad-da-da”- middle which has a messy yet beautiful mix of red and white hair.
“Dad” -oldest stark white hair.
Your two boys have found their main priority to be their little sister. After a quirk incident when she was 5- her quirk formed in school- and she started to get bullied. When Shoto was about to step in, his sons did it for him. Quietly and subtly. Threatening the other children with the fact their father was a hero. And their little sister was just as powerful as him. You both do end up talking to them but still… it was fricken adorable
Shoto smiles the day he sees his two sons holding each of their sister's hands, guiding her through the pickup zone to find him.
Shoto doesn't push his kids into anything- encourage, yes.
Shoto is the kind of dad who doesn’t force his kids into any activities. He will offer the idea of his kids doing something but never force them. He will heavily encourage them when they find their passion. Acting like the proudest dad in the world when his little girl does her first solo in dance or his middle gets into the art show. It’s all a big achievement.
You know that whole middle child disappears minds thing? - yeah not a thing. Each child is even, no one is a favorite and NO ONE IS IGNORED.
You’re children know who Toya is- though they don’t really know who Dabi is. Minus that he and their father have a history. But stuff happened…
It happened slowly, the mention of ‘the man’ a walk with your daughter turned to her her talking about her day happily.
“I talked to a nice man! He has fun piercing and he kinda looked like Daddy”
You tell Shoto. Both extremely fearful.
Your middle child comes home one day with a black ring on his finger, his name- which seems to be carefully burnt into it, is written on the name.
Then your oldest, for his birthday got his ears per coed . And not soon after, a small box was left on your porch. “Sorry, I’m late kid.” A pair of white piercings rested inside.
Time passes, and you both notice how the villain Dabi seems to disappear from the news. And the visited from Touya becomes more stagnant. And a few years later, a polorde of a baby girl finds its way to your house… she wrapped in a dark purple blanket. Small horns poking out from her hair. A happy smile on her face… she’s adorable
There is little to no contact with Shotos farther.
They call Izuku- “Uncle Zoo”
🪴 Izuku 🪴
Tumblr media
“We’re having a baby!” He starts crying- bawling really!
My man doesn’t care about gender or shit- they are getting All Might stuffy, and there are gonna be pro hero p posters in that nursery. The kid will have a room designed for them, and the minute your child says they have a new hobby, Izuku is on it. He’s buying stuff and researching. Watching videos on how to support your little boy in learning this new American sport he found. And later on, he’s sitting down watching hours upon hours of videos on hair for your little girl.
He also keeps his old hero journals, your children love to look through them. Talking as they mostly look at the pictures in the books.
“Un Might!” Your little girl yells
“Uncle All Might!”
Your children referred to All Might as their uncle almost as soon as they were born. Toshi appears at random for parties and school pick-ups whenever he can. And Izuku can’t lie, it’s fucking awesome.
Inko also is always in and out of your house- she lives rather close actually (courtesy of Izuku wanting to make sure his mother is comfortable and never lonely- she’s a god send when you both need a brake!!).
Izuku knows he can’t always be there, especially with being the new 1 one hero- so it’s no surprise for him to video call and talk to you all.
“I miss you all so much.”
“We miss you too Dad.” Oldest
“Miss ew oo!” Your baby girl babbles, her fingers grasping onto the Pro Hero Deku plushies.
Both kids own one. These are special though, there’s a little voice box built with the toys. Every time the kids squeeze the hand a little message comes out.
“I love you”
There’s a small one of him singing. Telling a short story.
Your Lock Screen is of your two kids opening up the present. Your son looks a bit confused holding up the stuffy while your daughter is already squeezing the toy and giggling. Your husband is standing nervously to the side with a hand on his neck. A somewhat worried but hopeful expression on his face. A large but sweet smile there too.
Izuku doesn’t care if his kids have quirks or not, he’ll love them unconditionally. He’s already taught them how they have a place in the world if they do or don’t have a quirk. How they are no different and just as special.
I imagine the two of you fight over your baby’s first words.
“It’s gonna be Mama/Dadda/Preference”
“No, It’s gonna be BaBa or Zoo”
And then you both look over at your baby babbling and go running over and you just hear an “Ight.” Does that count? No- you won’t count it but you look over at Izuku and this man’s eyes are stars.
“Izuku no-“
“First words”
“ZooZoo no.”
“All Might” he whispers out. And you just smile and shake your head. No, it’s not gonna count, but to Izuku it kinda does.
“Uncle Baky!”
“Unky Shoe!”
“Un’ id-E-uh”
“Auntie Ouch!”
Yes, Bakugou is considered their uncle.
🔥Toya/Dabi🔥
Tumblr media
Dabi found your daughter in an abandoned house. Her cries led him to her. She was in the bare minimum for clothes, shivering at the cold air that burst through the broken house. Small arms swung in discomfort at the cold as Dabi approached. Your adopted daughter had small horns at the top of her head. And when her eyes caught Dabi’s, his breath left his chest. Big eyes that were a vibrant blue, almost glowing.
“Holy shit.”
Dabi leaned down and swaddled her in his coat, his quirk activating slightly to try and chase her shivering away. “Shh. Shhh. It’s okay, I got you.” His deep voice rumbled.
He’s the kind of dad that feels like he ain’t really- like it’s supposed to be. He’s like that boyfriend of a single parent- the father figure who’s always there for your kid but isn't the legal father. And when someone brings it up to him, he gets awkward and doesn’t know how to answer. But he’s there at every baseball game and there for the first breakup and graduation.
Dabi doesn’t have much to prepare him for suddenly adopting a child. But he did remember it when the others were little. Watching the adults take care of them all growing up. Watching his mother and sister.
He’s the first to wake up when your daughter starts crying at night. He is already halfway off the bed by the time you open your eyes.
“I got it, Doll.” He rumbles
You sneak into the room, finding him holding your swaddled daughter, her little hands grasping at his sleep shirt. A rumbled voice filled the air.
“The monstersare gone. He’s on the run and your daddy’s here.” His rumbled voice.
Dabi doesn’t say he can sing, he denies he can, but he can. And he only will for your daughter. No. Not even you, just for her. His voice is rough, like really gravely but calming.
He carefully rocks her, the street light illuminating the two of them just perfect to catch both their smiles.
“Beautifull, beautiful, beautiful. Beautiful girl”
He trains his daughter, ensuring she can handle herself in the world. She knows basic ways to defend herself and fight back.
Dabi also take a huge step back from the villain life. The public even takes notices because of the drop.
Dabi doesn’t tell her about her Uncles or Aunts, she finds them one day.
You and your toddler were at the park. You had always had your face covered during attacks. So unlike Dabi, Shig or Toga, you can go into public with no mask or anything. Your sweet daughter was swinging, the evening sky coming to a close. That’s when it happens, you hear someone clear their throat and look up to see Shoto standing there. His eyes are on your daughter.
“Can I help you?” Your tone came off defensive.
“Mama/Pappa/preference, he looks like daddy!” Your toddler happily stated. Oblivious to the tension in the air.
“You must be Da-Toya’s partner.” You pulled your daughter from the swings, pushing behind you, eyes narrowing sharply. “Toya sent a photo a year or two back” Shoto smiles “she’s beautiful” You’re almost confused- you remember when Toya sent the picture, but still. That was years ago. “My youngest made these for you,” he reaches far into one of his pants pockets slowly, and you watch him intensely. Half ready to have your daughter run to the meeting point if this goes south. But Shoto fishes around for a secound more before smiling, apparently finding the object. He pulls out a ziplock bag of string bracelets. They’re slightly knotted together, but otherwise fine. “She made them a few months ago- when Toya dropped off a present for her… I told her I'd pass them to you if I find you.”
And that’s how unofficially-officially play dates between your daughter and Shotos three children started.
And soon, your daughter ‘magically’ met Fuyumi and Natsuo and then Rei. With Toya hidden in the background of course

I have the idea of all time. De-aging quirk used on Enji, obviously his family should take care of him right? Then Enji pulls out the "I'll be fine on my own! I haven't even seen Dad in couple weeks anyway." And oh, oh no. Endeavor never really talks about his childhood, did he live with a neglectful parent?
The worst/best time I can imagine is before Touya does the thing. Because the old man you hate? Now he's younger then his youngest kid. And he just passively says concerning stuff.
Young!Enji: "You don't have to make me dinner I can cook by myself."
Fuyumi: "But you're like 7?"
Young!Enji: "So? I've been doing this for 3 years now."
Touya: "Yo, not you implying you started cooking before you got your quirk."
GOD I love the genre of de-aging a character and having the people around them deal with them and be like either 'oh that's why you're like this' or on the flipside 'god what the fuck happened to you??' (the latter actually reminds me of something I saw on twitter but we'll come back to that)
BUT YEAH IT
I think the best time for this would be a little post-canon where Enji has talked a little about his childhood now. Like he didn't before except for an anecdote here or there, but when it came to apologizing for things he did give a 'this doesn't excuse it but you need to know why I did that' conversation. That was a bit more aimed toward Natsuo because he's the most upset about that aspect (Toya and Shoto focused on the 'making a Hero' thing and Fuyumi wasn't as upset on the whole).
But yeah blasting him to being like 7 where it's not just a physical thing of being that small but his mind genuinely thinks he's still 7 and just seeing the way the 7 year old genuinely thinks and acts.
Like yeah he thinks he'll be perfectly fine left on his own for a few days. Just toss him somewhere he can get food and give him a book or two.
Yeah the "I've been cooking for three years"/"That implies you learned how to cook before your Quirk manifested" thing is actually canon to my au. The opening scene of Road to Hell is Enji lamenting the stepstool he has to use to reach the counter got replaced with an inferior one thanks to his Quirk showing up.
But surely that's not weird, right? He's totally old enough. His dad said so. His dad is a good person who loves him and wouldn't do anything dangerous. Enji was just a smart kid who could be trusted to not burn the apartment down(and smart enough to call the emergency numbers if he did).

Am I the only one who loves that not only did Shoto blatantly reject the masterpiece label but straight to Toya's face how strong he was in front of their father. Endeavor's face at his weakest really cements it and now he just literally crawled to his son when he can't run away anymore.
I wonder how Toya felt when Shoto told him how strong he was and how he truly is someone awe inspiring despite being a villain.
I also feel so sad for Toya that even his stranger of a brother Shoto acknowledges him and gave him more compassion and validation than any other person in his family, especially Endeavor.
Part of me hopes Toya will give Shoto a similar speech something like "I still hate you, but you're NOT like DAD/ ENDEAVOR you never were and never will be because you're a real hero but that means you'll always be my half baked brother. "
What do you think?
I know the Todo plot isn't over, and we are only switching to Toga's fight with Ochaco.
Well to be honest, while that all sounds like it’d be lovely, I’m not sure those two are really on that level of friendly yet.
I’m still unsure how Touya feels for his family after 390 but I’m leaning towards the negative; and Shoto saying Touya’s fire was stronger than his felt less to me like he’s acknowledging his strength as you suggest and more like he’s calling Touya wrong for thinking Shoto’s this great masterpiece. (I think it's mainly Shoto's expression in the scene.) I can appreciate an optimistic view on things, but I personally feel there’s still a lot of growing & bad blood that needs mending between those two before they get where you’re suggesting; right now they still feel mostly antagonistic.
But on the subject of what they’d be like after that mending: I could see that acknowledgement from Touya that Shoto’s not an extension of Endeavor, although I think that’s something they both already know. Touya’s beef with Shoto reads to me as being because he's the only thing Endeavor cares about (specifically more than his other children). And I don't think Shoto's really worried about being like Endeavor for a long time; much as he wants to prove that by being a hero to put others at ease. So I think Shoto could appreciate that kind of acknowledgement, but I wonder how much he really needs it. Eh, maybe he does what do I know.
Actually on that subject, one thing I do hope they could do for each other is maybe somehow get them to stop caring about other people acknowledging them. Mostly Touya, I really think the correct course of action for him is to learn to stop caring about getting Enji's attention; but I've long thought Shoto could learn to be a bit more self-centred too. Maybe they could help each other that way.
(And see here for my thoughts on the Todo-plot not being over.)

Hey! Could you do some reationship headcanons for tomura, toya and hawks?? it's okay if not!
Relationship Headcanons | Part 1
Tumblr media
why would I say no to my top 3 bnha boyfriends?
Pairing: Tomura Shigaraki x reader | Touya Todoroki x fem!reader | Hawks x reader. (Part 2)
TOMURA SHIGARAKI
Tumblr media
contrary to what ya'll may think, he's actually pretty sweet.
we have seen how Tomura does care for those who are close to him multiple times.
and you are the closest person to him.
he really wants to pull some semblance of a man for you, in fact, he knows damn well that when it comes to you, he becomes Tenko again.
he feels like a child who wants to do things right, and even though he hated that you were able to do that to him at first, he is glad about it now.
if it weren't for you, he would have lost himself completely a long time ago.
he does not want you to have anything to do with the league. At all. He knows that would put you at risk and that's the last thing he would ever do.
does he misses you when he's gone for too long? more than anything. Being with you makes him feel good in every sense. And he never thought he could be able to feel good again.
but even though he misses you, he doesn't really care, because he knows it's for your own good.
besides, missing each other for a long time makes reunions way better.
you have a nice, normal life. He loves that about you. You are the type of person who goes to work, gets home and opens a bottle of wine while you watch a movie. It's the most ordinary thing ever but, to him, it's extraordinary.
no running away, or fighting. Just you, living a peaceful life; and he has no idea what the fuck could be so interesting about him for someone as perfect as you to love him so much.
so he tells himself that maybe you aren't that perfect. Maybe you are a bit crazy.
when he's not with the league, he's with you.
he loves to put his head on your chest while cuddling. It makes him feel safe, and loved.
another thing he loves is to take a bath with you. You sitting between his legs while he washes you hair and presses kisses to your neck.
at least then, he can pretend that he isn't a monster.
he touches you as if you were made out of glass, but it's mostly because he doesn't want to hurt you.
he is constantly scared that he might decay you, so he never ever ever takes his gloves off when he's with you.
but he also hates to not be able to feel your skin, so he got himself a pair of gloves that only cover two of his fingers and allow him to run his thumb through your face.
he kisses you All. The. Time. His favourite place to kiss are your cheeks and your neck.
he likes to do things for you. He wants to be as much of a normal boyfriend as he can. He always remembers special dates, probably better than you.
you are his whole world. The person he loves the most. He would literally do anything you asked him.
the only example of a relationship he ever had, were his parents. And he definitely doesn't want to treat you like his dad treated his mom.
he never shoves your opinion aside. What you have to say is just as important as whatever he has to say. or more.
if he's honest with himself, he would leave the league for you. You just have to ask, but he knows you never will.
AFO and the league don't know about you (or so he thinks). He is afraid that they might think that you are a distraction and hurt you, so you are his secret.
he also knows that you are his only weakness, so it's imperative that none of his enemies can track you down, which is why he makes sure you change your location at least once a year.
don't worry, he is the one who carries all the boxes and he also helps you pack your things.
you two watch movies while cuddling all the time.
whenever he has money, he spends it on you. Like I said, he wants to be a normal boyfriend, so he buys you things from time to time because he knows you hate it when he steals.
you are the only person he has ever told about his family. And he lets you call him Tenko.
normally, he would think the name is disgusting. But when you say it, he feels as if you really knew him, as if you could truly see him.
no nicknames, just your name said with a loving tone.
there are some bad days, where he feels like is selfish of him to be with you because he knows you could do so much better, but he also can't let you go.
he is a jealous man. Not possesive though. Again, he had a great example of a toxic relationship while growing up and he doesn't want to be like that.
but he internally screams everytime a man even dares to look at you.
and oh boy, if they flirt with you... The only reason he won't decay them on the spot is because he doesn't want to scare you but he will beat the shit out of that man. Or at least try to.
he had some trouble saying "I love you." Not beacuse he didn't feel it, but because he had a hard time recognizing that feeling. The first time he said it was pretty caothic.
the heroes were hunting him down and he was getting ready to leave your apartment, while you were begging him to let you follow him and he kept saying no.
at the time, you thought he didn't want to let you go because he was being a little bitch, so you snapped at him.
"(y/n), I won't let you come because I love you!"
you didn't know if you should slap him for the way he yelled at you and how strongly he had grabbed your shoulders or kiss him.
you kissed him.
after that day, he didn't have any problem with saying how much he loved you at all.
he wants to spend the rest of his life with you. He already feels guilty enough about the fact that he can't take you out to dinner, or meet your parents, so he tries to be the best version of himself he can for you.
he truly believes you are the best thing that has ever happened to him and he wants the best for you. If there came the day when the best for you is for him to leave, he will. Even if it tears him apart.
Tumblr media
TOUYA TODOROKI
oh boy...
dating Touya is like dating one of those bad boys with motorcycles that were the love interest in every 60s movie.
he acts like a complete fuckboy but he actually only has eyes for you.
sometimes you truly believe that he might not know your name because he only ever regards you as "doll", "gorgeous" and "sexy."
in fact, you have never heard him call you beautiful. That word doesn't exist for him. He only knows "sexy"
you are wearing a new dress? "You look so sexy, doll."
you are cooking something? "What are you making for us, sexy?"
Heck, you could be wearing a plastic bag and be covered in mud and he would be like "sexy."
it's just his way of saying you are beautiful.
everything about being with him is just so hot.
never one boring day.
he still flirts with you as if he was still trying to impress you. "Damn doll, have mercy on me. I only have one heart."
sometimes he might act as if you were just some one-night stand but you quickly shove that thought away when you catch him looking at you as a man who spent months in the desert and has finally found an oasis.
he smells like cigarette smoke and cologne. and whiskey.
his kisses are always very passionate and he's quite handsy, he usually grabs your ass while kissing you.
he is a fucking jackass who doesn't deserve you and he knows it damn well, in fact, that was a huge problem at the beggining of your relationship.
he used to flirt with you non-stop before ya'll were a thing so it took you a while to take him seriously. You thought he just wanted to get under your skirt at first.
and when you started to fall for him, he got scared.
he thought he would never be able to pull it off. Not with you. You were not like him, your family loved you, you had friends and a job and he had absoulutely nothing he could offer you. Hell, he didn't even have any money to ask you out on a date.
so when he realized that you had started to see him in another light, his first instinct was to protect you from himself.
he avoided you for a while. It was the right thing... Right?
he couldn't get you off his mind. He missed you so much, it hurt.
so he gave up and decided to see you again. He was an awful, selfish man. A villain. This was the type of thing a scumbag like him would do.
but when you saw him, you were furious. He disappeared and now he came back as if nothing had happened? What an asshole.
You were screaming at him, punching his chest, pushing him away, and right at that moment, he decided it would be a good idea to kiss you.
and since you don't have strength of will, you let him. That's how it all started.
there was an occasion in which he came home totally wounded. You were very scared for him and while you were tending to his wounds, you coulnd't help the tears that ran down your cheeks.
Touya wiped the tears away as he pulled you into his chest despite how much it hurt.
"I'm so sorry Touya, you are the one who is in pain, and yet, you have to comfort me."
he stared at you for 10 long seconds as he held your face before saying it for the very first time.
"god, (y/n). I love you so fucking much."
you helped him grow as a person, you encourage him to reunite with his siblings and he knows that you do it for him, because you want him to have a family besides you; because you want him to be better. Maybe one day he will follow your advice. Not anytime soon tho.
he usually wakes up before you do and prepares a cup of coffee for both of you.
random fact, but he loooves it when you ask him for help when you need to put on a dress.
the type of boyfriend that is always on your side during any argument with someone else, even if you are in the wrong. When he doesn't agree, he'll wait till you are alone to tell you, but never in front of someone else.
sometimes, a tiny bit of his brain tells him that you would have loved him more if he had become a hero. He thinks about how honorable that would have been in the eyes of society, and how vile it is that you have to hide the fact that you are together.
once, he was having a crisis while thinking about that and told you that he would stop it all if you asked him to. No more vengeful plans or crimes. Just you and him.
but you feared that he could regret it later, so you asked him for just one thing. No more lost lives. Not even his father's. If he wanted to make him pay, he would have to find another way to do so.
he agreed, and he has kept his promise.
he really wants to be deserving of you. He doesn't want to hide forever. Touya knows that he can't just be a good man all of a sudden and act as if nothing happened or avoid consequences, but he doesn't want to add more things to the list either.
because even if he denies it to himself, he started regretting many of his decisions the moment he met you.
this man slaps your ass as if he got payed to do it.
he does it even in front of others, which is incredibly embarrasing.
you do know the league, but much like Shigaraki, he tries to keep you as far from all of that as possible.
he makes the filthiest remarks ever. He likes to whisper them to your ear to make you all flustered.
Can't. Sleep. Without you. He just can't. A lot of things weight on his mind and the only way he can feel at ease, is with you.
once you said he looked cute with his morning hair and now he ruffles it intentionally when he wakes up.
sometimes he wishes he could introduce you to Rei. He knows she would like you.
whenever you get your period, he uses his quirk to help you with cramps.
he randomly lifts you up over his shoulder and spins you around. As if you were a kid. He mostly does this when you are mad at him. You might think that he's to scrawny for that but this boy has strong arms.
sometimes he sings you songs his mother used to sing to him when you have nightmares.
this man loves to dance so he randomly puts some music on and starts dancing with you around the house.
he can be romantic when he tries. Buying you flowers when he can, or bringing you dinner so that you don't have to cook.
overall, he loves you more than anything in the whole world. He might not say it often, but it's not necessary.
his whole being belongs to you and it always will, even if one day you decide you don't want him anymore.
Tumblr media
KEIGO TAKAMI / HAWKS (slight spoilers from the manga)
all right, this man is perfect. literally perfect.
he is exactly the type of boyfriend every girl wants. Handsome, famous, sweet, talented, strong... What else do you need?
Keigo's world rotates around you.
it may not look like it but he is a lonely man. His mother doesn't care about him and he doesn't have many friends.
so when you come around, and show him all of this affection, he is stunned.
he has you very spoiled. Bought a nice house for both of you with a big garden because you told him you loved flowers. He comes home with random gifts from time to time even though there's nothing to celebrate. "We're celebrating that we found each other, dove."
he constantly escapes from his job to see you.
he is a little bit paranoid when it comes to your safety. Always scared that someone might target you to hurt him.
your relationship is public, after all. It would be impossible to keep it a secret when the media is constantly inquiring on the number 2 hero.
and of course, you are the most hated woman on the country.
and you don't give a damn.
he is the most affectionate man alive. Always hugging you, kissing you, telling you how much he loves you...
so many dirty jokes.
his whole motivation as a hero is to create a better world for you, and who knows? Maybe for your future kids.
I think I mentioned this somewhere before, but he wants you to be proud of him, to be deserving of you.
he likes to take you in his arms and fly over the city with you, although he doesn't do it often because he doesn't like you to be seen with him for your own safety.
very clingy.
he sleeps all night long while holding you. And you won't be able to break free unless he allows it.
the only thing he thinks about when he's at work is you. How long will it take for him to go home?
as soon as he passes the door, he flies runs towards the couch, opening his arms towards you. He won't take a no for an answer.
he can also be very serious sometimes though. Specially when he has rough days at work. He lays his head on your lap as he rants about everything.
you are the only person he takes advice from, and the only one he asks.
you worry so much about him and he knows he should feel guilty but he actually thinks it's so cute.
with one exception.
after his fight with Dabi, you were terrified. You had never seen him that injured and you honestly thought he wouldn't make it.
the first thing he did when he woke up, was to ask where you were. He couldn't even speak but he somehow managed to ask about you. He thought the league might have wanted to make him pay using you.
and then you entered the room... And you looked so terrible. He couldn't see himself but he genuinely thought that you probably looked worse.
that was the first time he felt incredibly guilty. You didn't deserve this.
still, he was mostly relieved to see that no one had gone after you. He could never forgive himself if you ended up hurt because of him.
he became way more private about your relationship since then. The media even stated for some time that he had broke up with you.
he is a total gentleman.
he opens the door for you every damn time. In your own house.
never lets you carry anything.
he knows perfectly well which ingredients you use the most, so he places them in a way that they are within your reach in case he's not home to reach them for you. He mainly doesn't want you to get on a chair or something like that because you could fall.
you love to have long conversations with him. He's a great listener and a very uderstanding man.
romantic dates are his thing.
he may avoid going out with you too often but that's why he bought you two that house with the beautiful garden.
he prepares a beautiful set-up whenever he has free days just for you two.
not a great cooker but he tries or ends up buying something in your favourite restaurant.
your parents love him.
your mom thinks he is so sweet and handsome. She actually calls him handsome all the time. You tried to stop her at first since you thought it was embarrassing but you can tell that he loves it. It boosts his ego.
your dad respects him. He is grateful that he takes care of you and treats you right.
you are Keigo's favourite person, so you are the first being he calls everytime he has news to share, or anything, really.
all of those classified matters that he is told not to share end up in your ears at the end of the day.
he mostly does it so that you don't worry too much. He thinks you'll be calmer if you know what's going on.
arguments are pretty rare and they only happen when he works to much or puts himself at risk, but even if he was in the right, he always apologizes first. He never lets you go to sleep being angry with him.
you are his top priority and he would do anything to keep you safe.
pls just give this man a hug, he loves you so, so much.

Getting banned from a My Hero Server because people were openly defending Endeavour, and victim blaming Toya. It’s extremely fucked up. Saying you want him dead, and he deserves to die, but not Enji because he’s “changing,” and then admitting to being an abuse apologist? Because you like Endeavour?
I hate the argument “it’s just fiction,” because no, it’s not. Abuse isn’t fiction, and how you respond to it, whether fictional or not, is extremely telling of how you react to abuse in general.
“Being a victim doesn’t give you the right to kill your abuser,” not in the real world, no. (It should, but that’s for a different conversation.) For those of us who relate to Toya, it’s comforting to live vicariously through him. He can get justice for himself. He deserves to get justice for himself.
Saying “murder is worse than abuse,” is the most awful thing I’ve ever heard. Honestly.
That’s definitely coming from someone whose never been abused. However, I’m not defending him. Do I think he should be held responsibility for his crimes? Absolutely. But I don’t want to see him rot in prison for life, when he deserves redemption. I think he really relates to Azula, and they have a lot in common, so I love that. They were both trained to be child weapons, and the stress of being the perfect, golden child broke them down. But not even Azula was locked up forever; but it shows how much mental illness can effect you, and your choices. He’s a beautifully written character, and I want to see him get redemption. I understand he needs to pay for his crimes, but he can do that in psychiatric care, while getting help. I don’t think it’s fair that he should be held accountable for his actions, when Endeavour hasn’t been. His crimes are swept under the rug, and his fans, both in the manga and the real world, defend him.
I say this quote on Tumblr a long time ago, and I kept it because it made me really think of Dabi and Shigaraki, so I’m going to post it here: “I too once believed in the ruling power, but when I put my faith in it to protect me, I was betrayed. The people who did this faced no consequences, no trial, and as we speak continue to do harm to others. Your justice is pretty in theory, hero, but it is naive— the real world is messy and cruel, and unfair; and I plan to rectify it.
Too long I have tried other ways to make this system work— it is time to make a change.”
Tumblr media
That’s literally what the villains are doing. They’ve been failed by their system, and continue to do so. If the vigilantes feel the need to take justice into their own hands, why can’t the villains?
“Why didn’t Toya just come forward? Get a new family? Run away?”
It’s not that simple. And why should he?? Why wouldn’t he hold his abuser accountable??? Why does he have to leave his family behind? He did find a new family though. People who cared about him, who SAW him.
If you can openly love Endeavour, because you think a 46 year old man deserves redemption because “abuse isn’t as bad as murder,” then you’re part of a much larger problem.
The League wants to “make a better, shining world” as stated by Dabi. In HIS eyes, he’s making the world a better place. You know the saying, right? “You’ll never truly understand a villain, until you understand why they’re the hero in their own mind.” And who says they’re wrong? Isn’t the author showing us that the hero society IS flawed? There is no Right or Wrong side. Have you played My Hero Ones Justice 2? Have you heard Dabi’s dialogue? He mentions meeting Gran Trino in the hospital as a kid, probably because of the intense training by Endeavor. He only says, “God, or whosoever up there, is cruel.” Which means he’s HURTING still because of Endeavor. He’s also insecure, because of his dad saying he wants good enough. He constantly calls himself weak, and at one point, Twice tries to make him feel better by telling him to not put himself down. Endeavor isn’t better, because it’s taken him THIS long, while Touya is still developing; but it’s hard to grow as a person when all you’ve ever known is pain. Shoto said himself that he could’ve grown up to be just like Dabi, if Deku hadn’t given him the “power of friendship” speech. But Touya didn’t have anyone to give him that speech. No one saved him. No one pulled him back from the edge. Endeavor can’t just “forget” what he’s done, wtf. You can’t just forget someone’s abuse, because it’s easier for you. What about Touya’s closure? His justice? He only wants to kill Shoto because of his trauma. Do I condone it? No. But it’s not his fault, he needs help. He’s not beyond redemption. For once, someone needs to help these villains, because no one ever saved them. They need therapy, and to be rehabilitated; not killed or locked away, and forgotten. There’s no sentences in their world, once you’re in jail, you’re in jail. They dump you there and forget about you. The League deserves more than that. They deserves voices who speak out against the abuse, discrimination, and everything else they’ve had to endure. “Villains are just victims whose stories haven’t been told.”

PS: It’s also hard to give a good argument when you have slow mode on.

Dabi Earned Endeavor's respect ...and FEAR
Love or hate Dabi, one thing can't be denied he earned Endeavor's respect as a villain and his FEAR.
Endeavor would rather face a certain death in a "heroic" battle against ALL FOR ONE than face DABI, the villain he created.
That is so sad and hilarious, it is amazing what great lengths Enji Todoroki will go just to avoid TOYA/DABI.
Tumblr media
Just like how his own wife and other children were afraid of HIM, now he feels the same way about his OWN SON TOYA. He might fear him for different reasons but the fact he sent his youngest son along with all of his sidekicks to face DABI rather than fight alongside SHOTO shows he doesn't care about even Shoto's own safety enough to face DABI/TOUYA. Meaning he hopes STILL being a hero somewhere else against another villain will help him atone.
Karma has caught up with Enji/Endeavor and now he is learning how it feels to be a failure to other people who had faith in you, to have someone you love behave so monstrous and wonder why they will go this far, and how it feels to fear a person you love and wonder what will take for them to stop until realizing they won't. Realizing that this person knows you and you know nothing about them anymore and that you are left helpless and confused in a hopeless situation you never thought you would find yourself in.
Tumblr media
Just look at his reaction to Shoto's response of handling Toya together, he still hasn't accepted the fact that his son is a villain let alone one he created through both his actions . Just because he has admitted it doesn't mean he has fully accepted it.
No other villain or person for that matter has ever earned Endeavor's Respect and Fear at once, and had him cry for that matter.
This is why I love Dabi he not only calls out Endeavor's bullshit on him being a fake hero and failure of a father excuses but burns his entire world view, career, self-worth and identity to ashes and dances on them while Dabi finally makes his father look at him for once. Dabi is the cruel truth Endeavor fears so much he rather die against All For One than clean up his own mess.
Dabi finally earned his father's acknowledgement and respect even if it wasn't through love but FEAR.
I love Endeavor btw along with Dabi, they are amazing complex characters and raise the stakes and question what does it truly mean to be a hero in the world?

Hey there, thanks so much for sharing your "Todorokis and Shimuras" meta post! What do you think will happen going forward with the Todorokis? I was thinking they're heading for a reconciliation with Touya but I'm not sure how that's possible because they still haven't really "seen" him.
Tumblr media
It's interesting to say his family still hasn't really "Seen Him" especially since lately, despite his family agreeing to search for him, he's nowhere to be found. Even when they remember him, they always see a distorted image. It's almost as if they're still not looking at the "real" Dabi, whatever that might entail.
Before I start I'd like to clarify this is my personal interpretation, and I read Dabi differently from a lot of common fandom sentiments in two regards.
1) I've never seen Dabi just going back to the Todoroki family, and like going to live with them as the ideal ending of Dabi's plotline. Just because the Todoroki family dynamic never included Toya, to begin with. That is essentially the problem, Toya was always the family problem, he's still seen as the problem. I know that Dabi coming back would be good for the Todoroki family dynamic because it's impossible to heal when one of the family members is straight-up dead and nobody can talk about what happened to him, but would it be good for Dabi?
For me, Dabi's plotline is he's fixated on the idea that if his quirk was strong enough, he still thinks that he would have gotten his father's attention. Not only does his family around him still treat him like he's the problem for reacting the way he did to being outright ignored his whole life, but Dabi himself has internalized that he is also the reason. That's why he plays the villain to his father's hero, that's why he suggests he's going to burn in hell and there's no pathway forward for him. For Dabi, he will always be the problem, because of what he was born as, and there's no fixing that. Yet, still, he tries to fix it and earn the attention of his family, even now when his motivations have shifted from trying to be the hero his father wanted to be, to trying to be the villain to the whole family. Insanity is trying to do the same thing over and over again expecting a different result, and Dabi's particular insanity is that he thinks if he keeps rebelling he'll eventually get the thing he wants from his family around him, and he just won't.
Generally, characters don't get what they want. They call this a want/need conflict. Toya thought if his father had just come to Sekoto Peak that day, things would have been fixed between him and his father but they wouldn't have because it's oversimplifying a big family problem. Toya thinks if he had just trained his quirk to be strong enough his father would have acknowledged him and he would have gotten what he wanted, but that wouldn't have solved the problem in the first place that Enji only ever had a kid because he wanted to train up a hero not because he wanted to love that child.
For me, the plotline makes more sense if Dabi doesn't get what he wants because I don't think the family after like ten years of not talking about him, just finally giving Toya attention would fix anything. Not only is it too little too late, but the writing with the Todoroki family doesn't seem to be going in that direction. Toya is still the family problem, to everyone except maybe Shoto. None of them even seem particularly saddened by Dabi's suffering, just the loss of who Toya was, except for Shoto who cried after realizing he was Toya immediately.
That's interesting because it's actually a conflict. It's not something so simple as hugging it out. What Dabi needs, first and foremost, more than daddy's love is to be able to see himself as an individual. Dabi burns himself because he doesn't feel his own feelings, he kills people because those are endeavor's flames, the central issue with Dabi which makes him so lovably (to me) unfixable in the first place, is that his family's treatment of him has robbed him of all identity.
This is also the central problem with Shoto. Shoto cannot be a person, he cannot be a victim because he's too busy trying to be what everyone around him wants him to be, he's his father's heir, he's his mother's savior, he's his family hero. Shoto despite being the youngest takes all this on, and Dabi being his foil shows him this is bad behavior because trying to live up to the expectations of everyone around you, not being allowed to just be a child, is inherently destructive to your identity. Shoto will not solve his own problems by being a hero, the same way Dabi cannot solve his problems by being a villain.
Besides, I've always thought that found family trumps biological family. Toya obviously needs some sort of recognition from his family to move past the hurt inflicted on him, and he deserves to be saved by Shoto but insisting he has to go back to the biological family that ignored him this whole time... I still don't understand why that's entirely necessary for his character.
2) I always saw the league as being Dabi's savior, and his place to return to.
If there is a consistent flaw to Dabi's behavior so far that would give him a character arc (besides the whole murdering people) is his continual refusal of the league's dynamic. Once again, the fact that it's not so simple as just Dabi being fixed by going back to his family, or finding a new family. They key word with Dabi's character is damaged, he's so damaged that there is right in front of him a group of people who would accept him exactly for who he is. The league shows him the unconditional love and acceptance that he needed when he was younger.
It's the league who checks if Dabi's burns are okay. It's the league that saves him. It's the league that offers him trust. Dabi basically never plays along to the group dynamic, and Compress, Toga, they still treat him like a team member. Dabi says fuck you I don't care about your backstory to his face, and Shigaraki still allows Dabi to go off on his own and use the Noumus for his own desire. Toga, the most self-absorbed of the league is concerned when Dabi is pushing himself, Compress who states he believes that they're just selfish, egotistical villains who gathered by accident tells Dabi to be careful with how he uses his powers when Toga yelled in her face "I don't care what happens to Toga" after she left, he was still considered worthy of being saved by Compress afterward. Twice was unrelentingly friendly to Dabi no matter what he said. Dabi has a family, a place he can belong to, but he just doesn't play along.
This behavior isn't Dabi just being tsundere or hiding his feelings. When he says he's just using the league, it's not entirely a lie, because that's probably how he sees it, that's what he's trying to convince himself it is. For the simple reason that Dabi is so damaged as an individual, he cannot accept the unconditional love the league offers, he cannot accept their trust. He has to view it as him using them because the way he was raised in his family these things just don't click to them.
Not only is it a flaw, but it's also a flaw that has consequences. If Dabi had simply told Twice that he was only using Hawks, and not to trust him, Hawks and Twice never would have gotten close in the first place. Dabi is not at fault for Twice's death as Hawks' killed him, but also it's a plot consequence for Dabi's central flaw which is to refuse the truth of everyone around him and play manipulative mastermind. If he had simply trusted Twice enough to tell him about his agenda, it all could have been avoided, but it's too late. Dabi did not kill Twice, but he also cannot save him, because he's still lying to himself about what he wants.
So like I said, what Dabi needs is not what he wants. What he needs is to become an individual, outside of the revenge he wants against Endeavor. There are people who already see him as an individual but Dabi as he is cannot accept that. Instead, he keeps trying the thing which does not work, playing mastermind on his own and refusing the league, even when that thing has been shown to have disastrous consequences, Twice's death.
So a lot of people theorize that at some point Dabi will reach a breakthrough with the league, and that has been my ideal theory for a while too. Especially since the league has fallen to pieces, and the only ones left are Spinner, a possessed Shigaraki, and Dabi. If Spinner is the savior of the league as I theorized, then right now Shigaraki, and Dabi are the ones most in need of saving as they are still letting their abusive fathers dictate everything they do (Shigaraki literally in this case). The ideal next step in both of their arcs is coming to terms with themselves as individuals, outside of their father's influence.
Okay, that was a long rant but to TLDR just for the next step of my analysis:
1) I don't think Dabi is just going to go back to the Todoroki family after this is all over. 2) I think Dabi's real place of belonging is with the league as they are shown to be the only ones who already accept him for who he is, but Dabi also needs to change his behavior towards the league and go through a character arc first.
Okay, so now that all of that is clarified we return to answering your actual question. How is Dabi and the Todoroki family conflict going to be resolved if it still seems like none of them are looking at Dabi? I can't predict the future but I can try to analyze the writing we have for Dabi so far.
Dabi is clearly the scapegoat for his family, but there's also a lot of Jungian symbolism with his character, being the shadow of Endeavor's "light", the embodiment of the permanent harm that Endeavor has done that he can't be forgiven for. So let's look to Jung for the answer of what Dabi's current conflict with his family is, and with that, I bring up the idea of the ID monster, or the Jungian shadow.
Lurking behind our thin, rational facade is an impulsive demon. A demon that takes control of us, acts without thinking, and serves its own purposes regardless of the impact to our ultimate well-being. That demon is your id.
The ID Monster / The Jungian Shadow is a monster created by exactly what the protagonists are repressing. The more the protagonists repress their feelings, the more they refuse to look at it, the stronger the ID Monster grows.
What is Enji's first gut reaction upon waking up to the news that Toya is still alive as Dabi? Not that his son he had been searching for for years is back, and in need of help, but rather that he has unleashed a monster upon the world, a villain.
Tumblr media
Even the way he remembers Dabi, looks like a monster, and this happens every time Dabi has panel time after this chapter. Whenever someone talks about him, we don't see his whole face, we see a distorted image, drawn to look especially monstrous. This reveals not only is Enji seeing the full picture of who Toya is, but also his initial gut instinct response is really telling the truth about Enji's priorities that he's been lying to himself about. His first reaction isn't "I need to help my son" but rather "I can't be a hero anymore after this."
The ID MONSTER confronts you with the truth that you refuse to acknowledge, and the more you refuse to look at it, the stronger the ID Monster grows. I know a lot of people were unsatisfied with the Toya flashback chapters, especially since they were from another person's perspective and not Toya himself, but let's assume this is done on purpose rather than just writing it off as 'bad writing'. Horikoshi probably has a goal in mind with all of his writing decisions, even if you don't agree with them so the best thing to do is try to look at that goal and speculate on it.
We know why Enji can't accept Dabi, his writing gets kind of ehhh, sometimes but his flaws as a human being are pretty consistent. Throughout the entire flashback chapter we are shown he prioritizes being a hero over his family, he only had a family in the first place to continue his legacy as a hero, when he's given a second chance he picks being a hero and going after AFO solo rather than focusing on Dabi. However, the rest of Toya's family actually had connections to him as an individual, Fuyumi was concerned about his burns, Natsuo was the one who always comforted him, Shoto was seperated from his sibligns and wanted to have a sibling connection with all of them. Why isn't the rest of the family happy that Toya is still alive, why do they continue to treat him like Dabi, a mosnter in need of stopping, and not Toya who is still suffering all on his own? I think it's because of the exact nature of the broadcast, what Toya confronts them is with the unvarnished truth.
Tumblr media
They were never a family to begin with. Rei never wanted to marry Endeavor, she was simply living up to her family's expectations. She was okay with Fuyumi and Toya this is canonically stated fact, but she didn't want to keep having more children after that. Enji's motication for having children was never to have a family, but to produce an heir with two quirks.
The Todoroki household as a whole is an incredibly repressed place. The fact of the matter is in many ways they just weren't a family for years. They clearly wanted to be one. Rei wanted to be a good mother to Shoto and tried to protect him. Fuyumi tried to pick up the slack when her mother was gone. Being a family is what they want, but also their method of going about it is usually to just ignore the extremely fucked up elements of their family situation.
I don't think the entire family is responsible for what happened to Toya. However, I do think in a thematic sense the whole family does play into this dynamic where they all kind of ignore everything fucked up about their household and try to keep silent about it, except for Natsuo.
Rei was a good mother to one of her children, for awhile, and it seems like not only did Natsuo and Fuyumi grow up ignored by their father, there's an implication they never really connected with their mother.
Tumblr media
This is what Toya directly confronts Rei with. That they aren't really a family, and words really won't fix that. They were never a family to begin with because Enji's priorities was always to birth a son with this perfect quirk. He states the truth that his mother might never have wanted to have him, and he doesn't even know why he was born, and Rei when confronted with that choice sees him as especially monstrous. Rei chooses to repress and look away from the choose, the ID MONSTER grows worse.
We know the reason why Rei is incredibly distant from her own children, she sees Endeavor inside of them, and is fraid of them because they remind her of her primary abuser. Rei went along with this idea of having a family with Endavor, prompted to her by her parents, trying to satisfy both parties, and then continued to play along as the situation in the house got worse and worse. Rei isn't at fault for being abused in any sense of the words, but also her unwillingness to confront the actual problem in the house (endeavor) despite the fact she clearly knows the truth and the choice to fear her own children instead, to see them as anything like Endeavor, to fear Toya like she fears Endeavor and thus shrink away from him, that's still a character flaw.
The Rei and Nao parallels are pretty clear. I think it should be outlined that both of them did love their children and wanted to be good mothers, but ultimately couldn't be. Their actions can't save their children. Rei is in an extremely complex situation that we can't make black and white judgements from, but all Toya sees of Rei's situation, is that his mother won't look at him, that nobody in his family really wanted him. It was the same as when Kotaro beat Tenko in front of everybody and in the moment nobody had the courage to stop him. It doesn't matter if there's a reason why everyone was too afraid to confront Kotaro, all that matters to Tenko is that he's being beaten.
Tumblr media
TAll that matters to Toya was that he was being neglected and that his problems weren't being addressed, and that's all that should matter because Toya is the child and not the adult in the situation.
I mean this is the metaphor I've always used for the situation, but letting Toya burn on that cliff that night simply because Enji couldn't walk up there and talk to his son, how is that different from say letting him starve to death?
Toya burns because neither parent wanted to take responsibility as parents, and the other children were too young to do anything. There are reasons Rei had trouble doing so and she's less guilty than Endeavor, but that doesn't change the fact that Toya burned to death.
What if it had been simply a matter of both parents forgetting to feed him, and Toya, as a child, was basically unable to feed himself and starved to death? In that case, the cause and effect of Toya's neglectful parenting become much more clear.
Is it as simple as going back to a happy family dynamic, when that dynamic never existed in the first place? When Rei and Endeavor so clearly failed as parents (to varying degrees Endeavor much much worse than Rei) considering one of their children died from neglect and their failure to provide? Toya's absence pretty clearly is meant to prevent this, Natsuo withholds forgiveness because of what happened to Toya which no one else seems to want to talk about. Toya's death is clearly described as the breaking point from the family, where any hopes of them somehow being able to recover their family dynamic kind of stopped and things only got worse from there.
It's interesting also how Toya and Tenko are complete opposites in their family dynamic. Tenko killed the rest of his family, Toya was the only one in his family who died, but his death pretty clearly shattered the idea of family togetherness. Toya's family survives him but twenty years later they haven't been able to recover from the wounds. Tenko's never forgiven his family or himself for what happened in the Shimura household, and he still carries their hands with him. He still hallucinates his father trying to beat him with his hand, and he still hallucinates his entire family trying to tell him who he is.
My point is I do think there is an underlying theme being set up that what is done to Toya is lasting and permanent, and also that Toya's family tendency is to simply look away from those wounds and play happy family, and try to forgive and move on in the name of that. Not only that, but that's a strategy that does not work.
The more you ignore the Id Monster, the more it rampages. As much as it looks like Endeavor has already been forgiven, there is a building plotline idea that there are things that should not be forgiven, and should not be ignored in order to continue playing happy family.
Tumblr media
The idea that there are things Endeavor has to take responsibility for, rather than being forgiven for. Natsuo pretty much carries the torch on this front. If Shoto's willingness to forgive his father is a kindness, than Natsuo not forgiving his father, because he still wants to remember what happened to Toya and he thinks it isn't something they should just move on from, is also a kindness.
Toya always remembers the way he treated from his family, because that's his reality. He doesn't have the option of simply trying to forget and move on. He has to face the truth, because it's literally, burns on his face. When no one else wants to face that truth, in a thematic sense, Toya becomes the ID MONSTER, the more his family refuses to look at him, the more extremes he's pushed to in order to get them to see.
Unlike the Shimuras who are just dead, the Todorokis have the chance to do something about this situation, but I've always seen the best result not to reconcile and just be a happy family again, but to actively challenge and break the cycle of abuse. They have a second chance to help the family member most in need of help. If someone had sided with Tenko, over Kotaro, then Tenko's explosion would have never happened in the first place. Now, the Todorokis are given a chance to stop the cycle of abuse and realize that the victim this time is Toya, and the abuser is and always has been Endeavor, but that means an actual confrontation has to take place.
A confrontation with the truth. If we view it as this way, that the abusive family dynamic of the Todorokis is still in place, that Endeavor is forgiven because he has the power in the household, that Dabi is villainized for the same reason that Tenko is, because recognizing his victimhood would mean confronting the actual abuser, then that would mean the cycle needs to be stopped.
Like, how the villains are going to be saved is still up in the air, but I think the manga has done a good job so far of portraying the cycle of abuse getting worse and worse. When Toya hears his father telling him they need to look at him at the conference,he decides he's going to try even harder to hurt him now.
Tumblr media
Toya is still ignored, his attempts to get his family's attention is pushed to further extremes. The cycle was not broken, and therefore it continues. Besides arguing the morality of saving the villains I think the manga does a much better job of showing it's simply not practical, every attempt to simply put a stop to Shigaraki without humanizing him or recognizing his victimhood simply makes him worse. Same with Dabi and the Todoroki family dynamic, the more they refuse to see him, the greater lengths he'll go to. If a giant broadcast exposing his flaws wasn't neough, and his direct attempts to kill Shoto and Endeavor didn't work, then imagine what he'll do next. From a simple practical standpoint, trying to do the thing that didn't work the first time, again, won't work the second time.
The definition of insanity is trying to do the same thing over and over again, expecting a different result. SImply trying to stop Dabi, without seeing him as Toya, will just make Dabi more and more insane.
So returning to my original question and yours, how can they resolve the conflict if they refuse to look at Dabi. The answer is, they can't. Considering how Dabi is literally nowhere to be found, and his family still only sees him as monstrously as possible when he appears on panel, let's assume this is deliberate. Dabi cannot be found, because they aren't looking for him, not really.
This also makes sense in conjunction with the rest of the heroes actions. Jeanist even says "He's transformed completely into Dabi." Like he suffers from some sort of split personality disorder. Like there's nothing left of Toya inside of him. It's because they only see him as Dabi, the villain, they can't possibly conceive of the obvious motivations Dabi has behind his actions even though he literally spelled them out for them on national television.
They talk about him like Dabi is a completely separate being split down the middle, unlike us as the audience who can still see that Dabi still calls is family by the names he used to when they were children, that he still longs for their attention.
Tumblr media
Now this is something that Shoto can learn from Deku, that villains in fact can be saved, or still remain victims. Deku already made the leap that no matter what Shigaraki has done, even if it's unforgivable, Shimura Tenko still resides inside of him, he's still a crying child. Shoto calls Toya "Toya-nii, and "Toya" and is the only one who has stopped entirely from referring to him as Dabi, but also I believe his use of "Stop" instead of "Save" means he hasn't quite made the leap yet. It's a character conflict, it's something he can learn from others. I don't think Shoto sees himself as enough of an individual, because he's too focused on being a hero because that is what he was raised to be, that he can actually, realize that what he wants is his brother back, or vocalize that realization.
Shoto is not the hero of the family, but a character with flaws, who is split down the middle between his desire to be a hero, and his desire to have a family, including a big brother he never really got to connect to. Not only does Shoto represent something that Toya never had which is the attention of both parents, Toya reflects something that Shoto never had which is the chance to be a normal child, with connections to both of his siblings, that Shoto never ever had until both siblings were already grown up. The abusive family dynamic is something that both of them equally on opposite extreme ends, and that probably is the reason why Shoto is motivated to save Toya, because he identifies with him, not because he's the hero of his family.
Shoto tries to see him, and he identifies with him, but both Shoto and Uraraka haven't made the jump that they could actually save their villain foils. So we have the family members who do not see him, the family members who try to see him, the other heroes who just completely ignore him, and I think this is where the league comes in.
As I've said before the only ones who have ever expressed any kind of semblance of concern that Dabi literally burns himself alive, is the league. It's true they only know him as Dabi, but even only knowing half of his identity they've shown more concern for him than any biological family member besides Shoto who expressed that even if Dabi kills him, he'll burn up in the flames too.
Tumblr media
Shoto's contribution is just as important of course, but there is already people who were willing to accept Dabi when he was just plain Dabi, before they knew anything about him. Dabi has one family that sees him, but they don't know the full picture of who he is because one he won't tell them, and two he carries too much damage from his time as Toya. He has another family that knows everything about his past, but still doesn't see him. Dabi can live as himself among the league of villains damaged and all and be accepted, however, the love he was missing from the Todorokis is still obviously important to him as he still calls them by their names so he's in need of resolution on that front.
That's why I've always thought the answer wasn't so simple as Shoto saving Dabi, because one this entire plotline has been building the idea that one person saving everyone on their own is wrong, and two it neglects everything Dabi has built up with the league. Dabi has refused to play family with the league so far and that's a character conflict built up with his character in need of resolution. Which is why I think what really would save Dabi is not the Todoroki family coming together to save him, but the league cooperating with Shoto to some extent.
Just as I think for Shigaraki, Deku's willingness to recognize him as a victim in need of saving is going to play a part in saving him, I think ultimately the league will play a much bigger role. Dabi was Toya, but it's not all he is anymore, he's become Dabi and lived half of his life as Dabi, and I think he will continue to live on with both halves of himself recognized into a full individual rather than returning to his family, and returning to who he was before. The most important thing is Dabi learn to live with the trauma, and the heroes can show him that he can live, he can be saved, but they can't do the second part for him. It's not a matter of dragging Toya kicking and screaming back to the Todoroki family, but rather making him see himself as his own person, and realize what he wants to do next from there.
It also fits my idea that I don't think the league is going to be reintegrated into hero society, at the end, or even become heroes. I think they will simply be able to live on and hopefully live on with each other. Just like the heroes can create someone like Dabi through their neglect, the villains can save someone like Dabi by accepting him, and inspiring him to grow.

Hi I’ve only just caught up on the manga and the Todoroki situation, and I’m sort of confused. You see I’m not a victim of abuse or at all experienced the types of abuse, like I know Neglect is a form of abuse and I know physical abuse but not emotional abuse.
My main question is how was Touya emotionally abused? I know he was neglected but a lot of people say he was emotionally abused, and I don’t deny it but I just wanted to get a better understand on how he was emotionally abused?
Okay so TW: Abuse
Okay, so in order to really answer your question you gotta have a full grasp of the definition of emotional abuse. But before I give you the definition I have to put a disclaimer here:
I live in the United States. Every state has its own definition of abuse and its own Family Code that the laws follow.
I also feel I must add this:
I investigate abuse and neglect for a living. It is literally my every. day. normal. life. to deal with this stuff. When I’m not on tumblr talking about fictional characters, I’m working with real human beings going through this stuff. And the definition I’m about to give you is straight from my work materials that I use to investigate and close cases of abuse and neglect.
ALSO very important: The US and Japan are entirely different and I have no earthly idea how they handle situations like this. I cannot speak from a perspective of a Japanese person. I’m using my own experience and knowledge gained here in the US. I’m applying our standards of abuse and neglect to the Todoroki family because, well, that’s all I know. I can’t apply Japan’s standards because I don’t know them. Don’t take what I say as saying “Japan should follow these standards” because I’m not. I’m just using what I know about the subject to apply to these fictional characters.
Now that all the disclaimers are out of the way--
My state’s definition of emotional abuse is:
Emotional abuse is when one or more of the following has occurred:
> a child suffers mental or emotional injury that results in an observable and material impairment in the child’s growth, development, or psychological functioning
> a person or persons cause or permit a child to be in a situation in which the child suffers a mental or emotional injury that results in an observable and material impairment in the child’s growth, development, psychological functioning
Given this definition can you see how it’s considered emotional abuse now? The Todoroki family is not just a case of neglect. “Emotional neglect” isn’t even an allegation we investigate. There’s physical and medical neglect and neglectful supervision, sure, but if it’s emotional neglect then it’s pretty much just emotional abuse.
The definition of emotional abuse is not reliant upon the ACT of the parent emotionally abusing their child, it’s reliant upon the result of the parents’ actions. Notice how in the definition is specifically says “results in an observable and material impairment”, meaning that because of the mental and emotional injury sustained by Toya, it is considered emotional abuse.
Before I present my evidence to the court let me explain in detail why this ended up being abusive and not just neglectful.
Endeavor had children for the wrong reason. Before Toya was even born he was doomed. He was born into a relationship with his father that consisted of training nonstop, spending lots and lots of time together, getting nonstop attention from his dad. We don’t know how much time Rei spent with Toya, but based on their testy relationship, I’d say they never got to have a strong bond the way Rei did with Shouto. But regardless of Rei’s presence, Toya was BORN into this dynamic, and so his little kid brain immediately made the association of: training = father’s love and acceptance.
So when you have that association in your brain (reminding you this is like a 4 or 5 year old brain), and suddenly your father STOPS training you, what does that tell you?
no more training = loss of father’s love
That’s what happened here, and that’s what Enji’s behavior told Toya. And for a kid, whose entire world consists of their parents and family, that’s pretty fucking devastating. Now for the actual evidence.
Evidence of emotional injury:
Toya was self harming
Tumblr media
And showing observable signs of distress (note hair pulling/ripping), and the crying spells.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Endeavor failed to step in and remove his child from a harmful situation (i.e. spending time with him or something, literally anything) and it injured his child to the point that it was too late.
Tumblr media
What makes this a situation of emotional abuse and not just neglect, is that there’s observable emotional injury. Oh and PHYSICAL injury. It even resulted in “death”.
Emotional abuse does not just mean verbal assault, name calling, talking down to, etc. It’s also a lack of emotional support and care.
The unfortunate reality, at least here where I live, is that in real cases of emotional abuse it’s still very hard to prove and intervene on because no matter how hard you try you can only go off of what you’re told by the children and the family, and you can never get 100% of the full picture. It sucks. In the case of the Todoroki family, we as readers get to see the whole picture. So therefore I can easily say this is a situation of emotional abuse.

Idk if this counts as abuse if not you can ignore it but what if Dabi/ Touya gets jealous and ends up beating the crap out of a dude who he thinks is flirting with his s/o and she pulls his away and he’s mid ouch so his elbow hits her and ends up knocking her out Bc of how hard he was hitting and stops mid punch after realizing what happened and he takes care of her maybe caries her home and takes care of her to wake up (cuz it’s like really hard maybe concision)
Ok so if you know me, you'll know I'm bad at writing any type of action scenes, so I kept this part short!
You really liked him. He's special, something you never felt about anyone before, he made you realize just how deeply you can fall in love with someone, with him. So different from you, two universes colliding, defying all rules of physics and whatnot, it should've been impossible, but here you were, head over heels for his azure eyes. So different from you, he helped you discover a new way of living, a new view on life, from late night outings, way past midnight, to earlt morning make out sessions, too early for someone to have so much energy. A new side of life, the one that you've always been warned about, life of fighting and darkness and too many illegal things to name and count, and yet you found yourself attracted to all of it, to the adrenaline of his world. You found yourself attracted to none other than Todoroki Touya, or what he always tell you to call him Dabi...
But just because you love him, that doesn't mean you approve of his ways. His small habit of smoking grossed you out, but this you could live with. His messy nature, leaving his dirty shirt on your floor when he comes back late at night, only for you to trip on it in the early hours of the morning, angered you, but you'll deal with it. His jealousy on the other hand, you hated it. Every time he'd throw someone an icy glare just because they were talking to you for longer than his liking, upset you. Every grind of his teeth, every sarcastic smirk, every dig of his fingers in your hip, you hated his jealous nature, nothing good ever happens from it.
And this time isn't any different. Just some random guy talking to you, sure maybe he was becoming a bit too friendly and too close, sure you wished that Dabi was here to scare him away. Just intimidate him so he'll leave you alone, that's what you wanted. But before you knew, he stumbled back, eyes wide as he wiped the blood oozing from his nose. And that's when you knew, when he pushed you behind him, that today he's taking it to another level. And you tried to tell him to stop, to yell at him and beg him from punching the man over and over again, but he couldn't hear you, he didn't want to listen to you. You're his, and how dare this man even dare to look at you, think that he might have a chance with you. You're his, you're Dabi's and he'll make sure everyone knows it.
So focused on teaching the man a lesson, he couldn't make out your pressence. He didn't hear your steps getting closer. He couldn't hear you voice getting louder, clearer. And he couldn't feel your hand barely touching his shoulder, your warm breath way too close to his skin for it to be safe. So when he pulled his arm in the air for one last blow, he didn't expect to hit you. He didn't expect to hear your weak scream, you body hitting the floor, your eyes crossing before your vision going back. And oh, did he take it too far this time...
He felt bad, guilty, remorse flowing through his blood, if his friends saw him right now, they'd mock him, laugh at him, call him softie and weak.... But when it comes to you, maybe all of this was true, maybe they're right. Because right now, the pang in his heart and the ache in his head were killing him, but even more the fact that he was the reasom why you're laying there with a black eye, chest heaving up and down. He's the reason why you're in pain, and he hates it. He held you tight, took care of you and now he has to wait until you wake up so he can apologize, or at least try. Dabi wasn't one to confess his sin, to admit his wrongs, but this time, he knew he has to if he doesn't want to lose you....
It's only when your eyes fluttered open and a groan left your mouth that he could breathe properly again. A large weight on his shoulder has been lifted, but not all of it, not yet. With his icy cold hand in yours and his eyes flaming azure never leaving your tired ones, words jumbled in his mind, but he'll let them out in a stuttering mess, so unusual for him "I didn't mean to hurt you... I'm... I'm sorry." And of course you knew that, surr he's tough and rough, he's mean and cold, he's intimidating and scary, but he's Todoroki Toya, and he's the one you're head over heels for...

Hi, again. Thank you for responding back.
I saw your reply and you said that you're not comfortable with age gap ship and I perfectly understand that and respect it. So can you give your thoughts to my question if my OC and Dabi/Touya were the same age?
Also, my previous question was (just as a reminder) - My OC met Toya and Enji when she was a little kid through her parents. Both my OC and Toya loved each other, especially Toya cause she's the only one who understood his pain. My question is, will Dabi be still in love with her now that he's a villain?
hi again. Mh, I guess it depends on how you write their dynamic, on the depth of their bond, as well as what happens in the middle.
Relationships aren't set in stone. People you get along with at one point of your life might end up going their separate ways at a different stage of their life. There might be a falling out for a lot of reasons: puberty, worldview changes, not enough time spent together anymore that makes that person feel like a stranger, different values and ethics when you grow up, etc.
If I was trying to iron out the specifics of their relationship through time, I would try and analyze how Dabi and your OC's personalities, goals and values change and grow over time. So, for example, we know that adult Dabi is a lot different from child Touya. He's definitely more jaded and disillusioned. He doesn't see the world through rose tinted glasses but realizes the toxicity of the hero system, and how most pros are driven by personal interest and self-righteousness. As a child, he took obvious pride in carrying on his father's legacy, but as an adult he completely rejects it and calls his father out on saddling him with such an impossible weight.
So, just because Touya got along with your OC as a kid doesn't necessarily imply he would get along with her now too. So ask yourself this kind of questions:
- What was your OC's opinion of Endeavor?
- How did she feel after Touya's "death" and did that change her in any way? Did she look into the accident at all, or just accepted it and moved on?
- what's her opinion of the hero system? Is she critical, supportive of it, or somewhere in the middle? How so?
- Under what circumstance does she meet Dabi again? How does she react? Does she recognize him? Does he recognize her? How do they feel about it?
- Would she sympathize with Dabi or judge him a lost cause? Why? Does she have any other reasons beside her childish love for him to want to see him as a person and not a villain?
- How does she feel about their falling out? Is she frustrated that she let it happen, or does she blame someone else for it? Is she angry at Dabi for never reaching out to her?
- How does she feel about the fact that he's still alive but never bothered telling anyone?
After you have answers for these questions, you can consider the romance aspect of their dynamic.
This is just my personal preference, but I wouldn't base a whole fic on the strong bond those two had as kids. Sure, they might've gotten along really well and even loved each other (admitting that kids love can even be as deep and nuanced as adult love), but a good story needs conflict and there's a lot of stuff you can address here to make their relationship more realistic.
For one, I'm assuming they went something like 10 years without contact. That's already one major reason for conflict. From your OC's pov: if I was good friends with someone, was informed of their passing, grieved for him for a decade, and then found out he was still alive all along and never cared to tell me, I would be pretty hurt to say the least. And from Dabi's pov: if I had a good friend who knew everything about my home life, about my abusive dad, enough so to give me comfort and support through that pain, and then found out she still became a hero despite it, never looked into my "death", but instead became another hero cog in the system? I would feel betrayed, forgotten about, trampled on.
Build off those feelings. How do they change and evolve throughout the story? Is there still any sentimentality between them, any affection left, or is it overshadowed by their hurt? Do they feel any bitterness, and if so, does that make them more cruel towards each other? less sympathetic? Or on the contrary, do they wish things had gone differently? If so, does that affect how they treat each other (e.g., by "going easy" on the other person in a fight?)
I think your best bet to make this somewhat realistic is to play the enemy to lovers angle. I don't see Dabi being okay with your oc becoming a hero, and I don't know enough about your oc to gauge if she'd be okay with him being a villain (it really depends on her personality, goals and worldview). But either way, the thing to keep in mind imho is that they aren't kids anymore.
The love they had was a puppy love that didn't survive the test of reality. So either that love festered and became something ugly, like for example insecurity and a fear of being hurt again that makes them close up, or it became something positive, a wish to actively change the circumstances that made their bond wither and die. So for example your oc might be motivated by the loss of her childhood friend into becoming a hero who rescue abuse victims, or she could grow up and forget about Touya entirely until she sees him for the twisted adult he became. And Dabi might resent her for pursuing heroics and for forgetting about him despite everything she knew about Endeavor, or he might be actively blocking out her memory like he's blocking out the thought of the family he's left behind in an attempt to get back at his father.
So. long story short. It depends. there's no clear cut answer. It really depends on the kind of story you want to tell.
I hope this helped somewhat.

WARNINGS: MENTION OF SUICIDE, SELF-HARM
Why was he suddenly pulled to a hug? What was that for? “Get the fuck off me!” he growled, taking a step back, as he stared at the other. No. He didn’t need any help. He didn’t need any friends or whatever they were supposed to be. He was alone. “I am not sad. I am not mad.” he said, his eyes cold as he bowed his head. “She was nothing to me. She chose to leave. Why should I care?” he mumbled. Why should he care that his mother had nothing to keep her alive? That she didn’t find anything worth living? She hated her. She was the one who had marked him. Both of them had marked him. Both of his parents deserved nothing. They didn’t deserve his love or care. His siblings? No one cared for anyone but themselves. Touya was smart enough to realize this early.
Yes. He had almost lost his left eye. He had almost stabbed his own eye because it didn’t belong to him. It belonged to the abomination he called a father. “I don’t need your shit” he said. “Get close to me again and it’ll be the last thing to do” he warned, turning his back on them. He wanted to get out of this place. He didn’t want to have any more classes. He didn’t want anything or anyone. He only wanted the pain to stop. He wanted his mother to be back. He was alone in this world. He was left alone and he could do nothing about it.

Todoroki woke up in a hospital room. No one was in there. He was alone, wondering what had happened. His memories were blurry. He could recall fighting to get Bakugou back from the villain’s hands along with Midoriya an Shoji. That was when everything turned black and he was somewhere he didn’t know. A man which his face couldn’t see approached him and held his forehead and that was when Todoroki knew that he couldn’t use his Quirk.
He couldn’t remember anything else from that point. Why was he left completely alone and most of it… Why couldn’t he still use his Quirk? The TV was left open, and the news talked about All Might’s fight with a really strong villain. All For One. The last man he saw. The video showed a weakened All Might. Someone who barely looked like him. And that was when he realized what had happened. The villain used his Quirk against the number one hero and Shoto finally understood.
Another shot showed his father, and himself being unconscious on his arms. He could see Midoriya, Kirishima, Yaoyorozu and Iida in the frame. All this had happened for his rescue? His eyes opened wide, staring down at both his hands. He had ended All Might and his Quirk was gone. The door suddenly opened and he flinched, staring at it only to bow his head right after, taking a deep shaky breath. “Close the TV” he said in a cold tone.

A sigh left the boy's lips as he looked at his oversized clothes. What exactly had happened? He couldn't remember anything at all but he was sitting alone in the middle of a road wearing a school's uniform that didn't fit him. Since when did he attend school? Where was his mother? Why had she left him alone? Staring around confused, he realized he had a bag. Opening it he found a wallet and a phone. He wasn't allowed to use a phone. Opening it he found the contacts. People he didn't know. He found Fuyumi's name and Natsuo's and dad's but his mother wasn't there. Was it Toya's phone?
He heard someone walk behind him and call his name. He put the phone and the wallet back on the bag, scared like it was someone's else's things that he touched. “I'm sorry!” he said, flinching at the thought of being scolded or worse. Turning to look at the other, he bit his lip, not sure what to say. “Do you know where's home? Mom is not here” he said hesitantly. The burn scar wasn't there. He was around at the age of five. He couldn't understand what was going on and this was overwhelming to him.

He wasn't the one to party. The operation they had been working had been a success and another team of criminals which was selling drugs in the underworld was caught with the help of the police. He was dragged to a club afterwords to celebrate but himself had never been into one. The place was dark and crowded and the music almost deafening. He couldn't understand the pleasure people found by being in such a place. Watching others dancing, his friend brought him a drink. He hadn't been able to relax for a single moment. His mind was still on the operation and this place wasn't quiet enough to bring him any peace of mind.
Sipping his drink, he managed to feel a little more light as time passed. He had low alcohol tolerance since he wasn't used to drinking. The other danced with the music and invited him to do the same but he couldn't understand why. Only when the song changed and something more interesting was to hear, Shoto's eyes opened wide. The music was still loud but he could for first time feel the rhythm. He could feel the music pierce his body. His muscles unclenched and he closed his eyes for a moment. He could feel the music. He could feel so many emotions at the same time when his mind was empty. This beautiful feeling made him slightly move with every beat, eyes opened only after a while. His lips formed a small smile, understanding now how everyone around him were that much moved.

THE FUCKING YUKITOUYA SHIT
As mentioned before, Yukito is bestie's with Sakura's brother. Touya is that brother. They are for real for real an item.
It's rare to see one without the other nearby, even at night. Yukito is at Touya's house half the time on sleepovers.
The teacher Sakura crushes on, Kaho, had a relationship with Touya that she had to break off because she was moving away, but she predicted that by the time she came back, Touya would have found another love. They meet again, and she asks if he's found another love. Moments later, in comes Yukito. Kaho stares intently at him, before turning back to Touya and going 'lmao typical touya!' And then she fucks off. Godspeed kaho
Throughout the story, its revealed that Yukito is actually the human version of a mythical creature called Yue, who Sakura binds to herself, but she doesn't have enough power to sustain Yue. Yukito also suffers a lack of energy because of this, passing out more and more often. Touya catches on and keeps trying to talk to him about it, and if you've ever seen anything that looks like a confession scene, that's that. That's the scene where Touya stops Yukito in the hallway and says "I need to tell you something" before being interrupted by Ruby Moon, and he storms off because she keeps doing this. Ruby, who has a crush on Touya, tells Yukito that if he doesn't make a move, she will. That's the scene where Touya kabedons Yukito against a tree.
Eventually, Touya gets a chance to talk to Yue about it, and Touya offers up all of his magical energy to sustain Yue/Yukito, even if it means that he can't see his mom's ghost or tell when Sakura is in danger. They embrace as the transfer happens and it's very romantic.
Later, in The World's Best Scene, which I will now provide a full transcript of, Sakura confesses her crush to Yukito.
Sakura: Yukito-san... I... love you.
Yukito: ...I love you too, Sakura-can. But... I'm not the one you love most, am I?
Sakura: Huh?
Yukito: Well, you love your father, don't you?
Sakura: Yes.
Yukito: And what about me?
Sakura: ...I... I love you too.
Yukito: But is the feeling the same? Is the love you feel for me like the love you feel for your father?
Sakura: ....Yes.
Yukito: It makes sense. I do look like your father, after all. Don't worry. I'm not trying to talk you out of it because I think you're a child. I know you can work it out for yourself.
Sakura: ...Yes. Did you always know, Yukito-san? About...?
Yukito: Uh-huh. I could tell that you loved me like family. It made me happy.
Sakura: And you knew the way I felt because you have someone else you love the most, too?
Yukito: That's right.
Sakura: Is it my brother?
Yukito: ...Yes.
Sakura: He seems mean, but he's really nice, isn't he?
Yukito: Yeah.
Sakura: Then again, he's shy about his feelings. He'd rather pick on you again than get all mushy.
Yukito: That's true. But even though Toya is my best friend, I don't know how he really feels about me.
Sakura: I'm sure you're number one with him, too. He gave all his power to save you, after all...
Yukito: Huh?
Sakura: You're important to me, Yukito-san, so I'm glad you feel that way about onii-chan.
Yukito: Sakura-chan...
Sakura: But if he picks on you too much, just call me! I'll punish him good!
Yukito: Thanks. ...You'll find your number one someday, too, Sakura-chan. And I'm sure they'll love you most of all. But when you find that person, let me know. If they make you cry, I'll beat the tar out of 'em!
Sakura: ...Thank you.
Like goddamn, gay stuff aside, the way Sakura's crush is let down easy and they come to a mutual understanding never fails to hit me.
Anyway, back to gay stuff. At the end of the story, Yue and his creator discuss shit not going to plan, and I have busted out the omnibus edition for this DIRECT QUOTE from the creator: "I had thought Yukito would choose Sakura as his first love... after all, she is the master of his true form. And I thought Sakura would continue to love Yukito the most as well. But... I was wrong. You know Yukito's heart best of all, don't you, Yue? Yukito chose Sakura's brother as his own."
In summary
They make me INSANE my God they make me insane. First explicit gay rep I saw aside from fuckin rory on Mrs browns boys. First gay romance I read. TEARS MY HAIR OUT. Wheres that one post with a picture of them captioned 'they were my heartstopper'
Mutuals who havent read cardcaptor sakura I CANNOT drive home to you how formative it was to me... literally every single main character except idk eriol is some flavour of queer and I'm like.... ueee
The protagonist, Sakura, has a crush on her brother's friend, Yukito. Her rival and eventual love interest, Syaoran, ALSO has a crush on Yukito and it is a sticking point in their early relationship. Syaoran realises he likes Sakura when he's trying to confess to Yukito but she keeps popping up into his mind and he's like "NO oh WHY would I be thinking about HER?! I only get like this around Yukito, why is my face red when I see her?!" Fucking legend, only character I've ever seen to realise he was mspec via 'oh, turns out I'm not gay, I also like women' instead of the other way around.
Sakura herself is also mspec!! She has a big ol crush on her substitute maths teacher, she says being around her makes her head go floaty n shit <3
Sakura's bestie Tomoyo is explicitly in love with her. She has a whole thing where she's like "Sakura, I love you! No, not just as a... I'll tell you when you're older!" One of the milestones in SyaoSaku is when Tomoyo inadvertently gives it her blessing by telling Syaoran that she doesn't care who dates Sakura as long as Sakura is happy.
Ruby Moon girlboss girlboss girlboss!!! She's like a mythical creature without an innate gender but she went 'FUCK that the girls uniform is SO MUCH CUTER, look at the skirt! Eriol, sew me a woman's kimono STAT" and Eriol, her master/keeper, goes "yes ma'am right away ma'am"
Oh God the fucking yukitouya shit. I'm gonna need a seperate reblog for the yukitouya shit

Note
This person on Tiktok said ‘Touya’s situation wasn’t abuse and endeavor did love him because he mourned for him and they went on to say that Touya never saw it abuse. He wanted to train and actively harmed himself trying to train himself and get closer with his father. So therefore it wasn’t abuse because Touya enjoyed training and didn’t see it as abuse’ and I don’t know how that can be possible, I am thinking rig ain’t I? When Insay it still counts as abuse even if Touya didn’t see it as abuse? Because don’t some abuse victims not realise that what they’re experiencing is abuse?
Okay I’m gonna give you advice and you can take it or leave it but it has certainly made my life easier while following this series.
If you’re a villain lover and you’re rooting for their happy endings and you want GOOD villain takes that make narrative sense and aren’t stupid as hell:
AVOID TWITTER
TIK TOK
AND REDDIT
I don’t go to reddit but I know several people who use reddit and their takes are just...fucking wild. Also after seeing screenshots of the reactions to the SnK ending I decided I was way better off avoiding that place at all costs. Twitter is a cesspool of idiocy and Tik Tok is just...well, not the best medium to have serious discussions about stuff like abuse.  And neither is twitter. I’m not saying that everybody who uses those cites are idiots, but....if I wanted to make a compilation of BadTakes™️ I’d go to twitter and collect my evidence in less than five minutes. I don’t use Tik Tok either but the BNHA videos my friends send me from there tell me pretty much all I need to know about that place.
I’m gonna put a line here to warn that I’m gonna be talking about abuse a little more detailed under the cut.
To answer your question about Endeavor being abusive...yes. I don’t know why this even has to be asked. I’m not referring to you anon, but the people you’re encountering on Tik Tok seem to not grasp the Todofam plot as it’s supposed to be. Endeavor completely ruined that family with his abusive tendencies. And I am going to further clarify that abuse is not always physical. It’s emotional and psychological as well.
I’m gonna get a tad bit personal here for a second. My job, my real life adult job, is nothing BUT dealing with the abuse and neglect of children. Let me tell you--abused and neglected children will almost ALWAYS choose their abusive/neglectful parent over anybody else. It’s just...how it is. Children who get removed from their parents almost always want to go BACK to their parents, regardless of what’s been done to them. Children do not always view their situations as abusive, especially when that’s all they’ve known. But you don’t just take the kid’s word for it. Nope. Not how that works. Children will protect their parents with their every last breath. And as for the parents/perpetrators of said abuse, they love their children. The second they get hit with the reality they may lose their children to the system they lose their shit. Abusers abuse their loved ones. It’s just a fact.
I also want to state that I’m being very general here. Every situation is different in this field of work.
Now I’m gonna go back to Toya here and say that him not viewing the situation as abusive and neglectful isn’t even true???
Tumblr media
I mean??? He’s literally calling out his dad right here. And if somebody NEEDS the word “abuse” to be said in order for them to acknowledge that it is abuse then....I don’t know what to fucking say to that lol. Also, to mourn the death of your child does not make you a good parent or automatically erase the abuse you did....tf
Anyway anon you’re right and that person’s content is not worth watching if that’s the kind of shit they’re gonna spew.
