when i signed with mclaren in 2013, i thought i was living my dream.

i was the only female driver on the grid, paired with jenson button—a world champion, a household name, and, to some, a certified heartthrob. they already loved calling him “promiscuous” in the press, and suddenly there i was: the pretty young woman who happened to drive fast. to them, we weren’t drivers—we were a brand. two good-looking people in shiny cars. and that label stuck.

from the start, i wasn’t taken seriously. i’d show up to meetings and realize they’d given me the wrong time—jenson would already be there, halfway through strategising with the team. he always looked uncomfortable when i walked in late, knowing i wasn’t told the same things he was.

“you’re here now,” he’d say, smiling politely, trying to ease the tension. i liked him. he wasn’t the problem. he was respectful, and if anyone made an offhand comment about me, he’d interject with a joke to cut through the awkwardness. but even his kindness couldn’t fix what was fundamentally wrong.

my first podium was a moment i’d worked my entire life for. it was a race where i drove faster than jenson, faster than most of the grid. but the photo they posted of me on the team’s social media wasn’t of me crossing the finish line, or holding my trophy.

it was me in the garage, leaning over the car, my race suit unzipped halfway down. the caption didn’t even mention the podium. it was just… my body. i couldn’t stomach looking through the comments.

i’ll never forget calling my dad that night. he was furious. he asked me why i didn’t make a fuss. why i didn’t storm into the team’s office and demand better treatment. but what he didn’t understand was that it wasn’t that simple. you’re the only woman in a room full of men, and they’re already waiting for you to slip up. waiting for you to show too much emotion, to prove them right when they think women are too “dramatic” to handle the job.

so i kept my head down. i smiled at the cameras, laughed at the jokes, and drove my ass off every weekend. and every time i was faster than jenson, every time i outqualified him or finished ahead, they’d say, “she got lucky.” when he beat me, they’d say, “see? this is why she doesn’t belong here.” it was a game i couldn’t win.

being the first woman on the grid wasn’t just about being fast. it was about being everything they didn’t expect me to be: calm, collected, agreeable. i couldn’t afford to push back because i knew they’d use it against me. so i swallowed it all, every little slight, every dismissive comment, every missed opportunity. i thought if i just kept my head down and drove, eventually, i’d earn their respect.

but now, looking back, i realize… they were never going to respect me. not really. not as a driver. they respected what i did for their brand, for their image. they respected how well i played the part. but as a person, as an athlete? i was just another pretty face to them. nothing more. and that’s what hurt the most.

Daisuke— What is one thing you have noticed about everyone on board the Tulpar?

I have been waiting for this question since I got here.

Anya is very outgoing and charismatic, she talked about going back to college to try and get her Doctorate degree, and I couldn’t be more proud of her, though lately she’s been jumpy and tad secretive, and sad I don’t really know how to comfort her, but she stays up a lot during the night.

Curly is very funny, if there’s one thing this man has it’s a very loud laugh, one that could make you snort, then he sounds like the start of a dead engine, though he can be pretty stern at times, like if me and Anya are playing ‘Sorry’ for to long he just stares at us with those big blue laser eyes and says “Don’t you have stuff to do?” oh boy don’t we get busy.

Swansea is very rough around the edges, he’s very kept to himself and loves his job, he talks rarely of home and not often of what waits for him at home, apart of me wonders if he truly likes me, I yearn for that validation from him, since it’s just me and my mom back home. Is that over sharing?

Jimmy is….intriguing, for example some days he’s the nicest guy you know offering everyone a bit of help, here and there; even though he complains about the work load later, and other times he’s completely shut off from the world, one time I went to him instead of curly for my morning assignment and I swear that man was so thrilled throughout the day and kept boating to curly about how good of a “Co-Captain” he was, but lately kinda like Anya he’s been different and not a good one.

As for me I’ve learned, I miss my mom, and home, and maybe just maybe I’m not meant for the stars.

Adam was ashamed of himself for staying in bed all day, but he had something that made him so proud brutally taken from him. He also just wanted Lucifer to hold him and take care of him. He was also afraid of others in Hell seeing him. But he had to try for Lucifer’s sake.

Adam: I heard you have a daughter…. I would like to meet her.

Lucifer: You would love Charlie, she is the sweetest girl ever.

Lucifer called up Charlie to set up a meeting at the royal palace. Adam let Lucifer bathe him and dress him. Adam was dressed in a cute dark purple dress that went to his knees, a black leather jacket, black tights, and his black combat boots with gold spikes. Lucifer trimmed Adam’s hair to look nice and shaved his face leaving only his little soul patch. Adam felt like running back to the bed room, but Lucifer holding his hand gave him the courage to stay.

Adam: What if she doesn’t like me? I am sure her mother told her all sorts of lies about me.

Lucifer: Charlie is very kind, I know she will like you. Whenever Lilith said anything mean about you, I made sure she knew about your kindness.

Adam smiled at him, just then Adam saw a very pretty young woman who looked like a feminine version of Lucifer.

Charlie: Hey, you must be Adam, I’m Charlie.

Adam: Hi Charlie.

Lucifer had set up a pancake breakfast for them to enjoy. Lucifer was very proud of how kind Charlie was being to Adam. These little interactions with Charlie were too exhausting for Adam, so they ended up on the couch with Adam sleeping with his head in Lucifer’s lap while Lucifer ran his fingers through the very soft hair.

Charlie: He is nothing like how mom described.

Lucifer: I will always hate myself for believing Lilith’s lies. Adam saved me and it cost him so much.

Charlie: There is a way he could be strong again and even regain his wings. But I don’t know how Adam would feel about it.

Lucifer: What is it? I would do anything for Adam.

Charlie: The solution is for you to marry Adam and make him Queen of Hell. Once the crown of Hell touches his head he would become the second most powerful being in all of Hell.

(Courtroom AU)

Lucifer couldn’t believe this, he was called to Heaven to answer for crimes he thought he already paid for. He glared up at his brothers and sisters who didn’t seem to show any mercy.

Lucifer: What is the fucking meaning of this? I thought I paid for my crimes when I was cast down to Hell.

Michael: That was before Hell started to gain more citizens, before imps became killers for hire who roamed the Earth taking human lives, before succubi and incubi came to Earth to seduce humans. You even slacked off on your duty as King of Hell because your wife left you. You couldn’t even control your daughter and now she wants to bring Sinners to Hell.

Lucifer: LEAVE CHARLIE OUT OF THIS!!!!!!

Lucifer went into his demon form to attack Michael, but gold chains sprang out of the ground binding him. It suppressed both his demonic and angelic powers.

Michael: You really thought it was a good idea to attack me? For your crimes you shall be put to death immediately.

Lucifer’s head was forced down onto a chopping block. Michael approached with his sword of angelic steel. Lucifer felt fear rise in him, with him dead Charlie would be forced to rule Hell and she wasn’t ready. But before the blade could be brought down Adam got between them and grabbed the blade which was cutting into his hand making gold blood to be drawn.

Adam: Don’t punish Lucifer, I tainted humanity by eating the Forbidden Fruit with Eve. I also caused this by driving Lilith away.

What Adam said about Lilith wasn’t true, she abused him and only convinced Lucifer to help her escape Eden because she wanted to hurt Adam by taking Lucifer from him. But Adam just couldn’t stand the thought of Lucifer dying because no matter what, Adam would always love Lucifer.

Michael glared at Adam: Adam, this is a very serious offense.

Adam: I know. And I have no regrets for what I did.

Everyone in the courtroom gasped and murmuring filled the room.

Lucifer: Adam, what are you doing? I don't deserve this!

Adam: You're right, you don't deserve death. I do.

Luicfer's eyes went wide and watered, he didn't want Adam to die for what he did.

Michael: Oh please, I won't kill you you're the first man your soul actually matters. But you must be punished.

With one swift motion of his sword Adam screamed in pain as his wings were shorn from his back, golden blood flowed from his wounds.

The gold chains around Lucifer disappeared and he ran to Adam as he fell to the ground.

Lucifer: Adam!! Michael you bastard!!

Michael: You don't matter. Now to Hell with you.

so I was looking up the tenets for lolth’s paladins and I found this little list. not sure how canon exactly this is but I thought it was interesting -

kind of laughing that shri’iia does the exact opposite in act 1 which leads to her oath breaking. she girlflopped so badly lolth decides to drop her ass then prob hunt her ass down for being an embarrassment and a failure. like girly was not exerting her power at all - it’s her first time in the surface ever and she’s surrounded by people who could literally kill her any given moment (considering all the stories she heard abt how surface dwellers hates drow) not to mention that the tieflings you encounter when you see lae’zel were ready to attack you that just fueled her paranoia. > she was not sowing discord at all she was laying low and keeping her mouth shut …!! she has no allies here! and she doesn’t know where she is! and there’s an illithid tadpole in her head! it would be foolish of her to paint herself as an enemy when she’s already so out of her environment so she keeps her mouth shut … thoughts to herself … bides her time and sees who’s useful to her and who’s not … she can always get rid of the ones that she doesn’t need later but for now she’s seeing what she can work with first …… > have a plan… shri’iia had no plans…. at all. she was following lae’zel around because the crèche was her only lead … but then they mentioned a druid named halsin who’s a very good healer so she turned her objective to that … then a goblin mentions their priestess is a healer too so guess she’s looking for her as well… honestly who thought making the drow who’s never been to the surface and literally does not know where she is or what she's doing the leader of the group a good idea….. in my hc the leader is gale
