I'm on a role: SIMS

Create a sims world and go ham. Do whatever you want. go crazy. Then, make notes. Who knows who? Who owns a business? Cottage Core? Just kidding, I didn't buy that pack because I have a crippling fear of chickens. You can make Mumbo a real scientist but nothing actually works because heaven forbid something you bought WITH REAL MONEY FOR THE SPECIFIC PURPOSE OF MAKING UR SIM A SCIENTIST WORK--

Sorry about that. I actually think this could be fun just because of how wild the sims gets. With mods and CC, you can do a lot of funny things, and I think, if I'm going to consider a tomodachi life AU, Sims is the only next step.

i haven’t rlly expanded upon my AU Wild much to y’all and that is the dictionary definition of a crime so allow me to tell you a bit about her

they’re only like.. slightly literate. he’s learning, but so far he’s only got his and a few close friends’ names down writing wise, and can only read some names and things like “inn” and “store” and “Rito” and such. despite this, she’s just about conversational in Gerudo

genderfluid, any pronouns, pan + ace

not only is he the team doctor, but she’s also the resident therapist. they’re the most emotionally/mentally stable, which is really sad because he does not put the bar that high up at all

they take great joy in tormenting the more modest-humored Links with their atrocious jokes. rip Loft but Wild’s creative and has no shame ever.

the Great Fairies are his moms. they might not explicitly say it but they all know they are.

he can fuck it up on the harmonica

they’ve got the world’s worst fashion sense. it’s literally so bad Lorule almost went on the fritz the first time they met. it’s repulsive. she looks hot as shit.

whenever Wild doesn’t want to go through the effort of explaining something, they’ll just say it came to them via divine intervention. Loft believes it every time.

Lorule has never lost a game of dominos. they have no strategy, they bet on blind luck and blind luck only and it always works. Ravio took it upon himself to set up little dominos tournaments at festivals or other town events.

Wind is banned from said domino tournaments due to his excessive cursing.

Wolf constantly tries to teach Spirit how to wrestle. Spirit refuses to learn (it scares her)

Mask can fuck it up on the fiddle

everyone thought Ages was gonna use his “Queen’s Bestie” privileges to meddle with politics even more than his job allows but nope! he just uses it to get access to the royal library. fucking nerd.

Wild and Loft both love bell peppers

Wind is besties with both Mask and Oracle. Oracle fucking despises Mask. Wind is desperately trying to convince Oracle that Mask is actually Rlly Fuckin Cool (tm). success levels vary.

Traveler doesn’t own a bedroll. he sleeps in the dirt. if they’re at an inn it’ll sleep outside anyways. they love it.

there’s two corners of the LU fandom that i find so interesting. one corner is people who swear up and down that they’re not writing about LU and it’s completely unrelated despite using the LU tags, characterizations, designs, names, etc. in their smut fics.

the other corner is people who say their work is related to LU meanwhile the designs, characterizations, dynamics, and pretty much everything else save their names and references to canonical events have completely changed.

and to both groups the only thing i’ve got to say is: just.. make ur own au. i promise you it’s not that hard and the creative freedom is lovely, just go for it. for the first group, it’s not that hard and you won’t be breaking the singular rule that was put in place. and for the second, you’ve basically already got your own au ngl just start putting those guys in situations and your good

hey so there’s been major adjustments to the hero’s call AU. i seriously might just not post anything else abt it and just start publishing the fic and posting any needed info alongside it. like whenever a new character is introduced i’ll post their basic information and all and that’s like. it. hajskdkak

i’ll still keep the original posts up (as well as any oneshots n such) but, save Foraging for Fuck Knows What, they’re not entirely canon anymore. almost every character has had such a major change to them made that lots of it is now very inaccurate!! the general ideas and concepts that i had and the directions i were taking are largely still the same (with a few exceptions) though, so if u had a favorite they’ll probably be decently similar <3

anyways here’s a list of all the (current) hcau links’ gender, pronouns, sexuality, and any partners they may have/have had. i’ve been queering these bitches since the very beginning

Hero - he/him, he’s too busy with.. well everything to think about his gender or sexuality, has a very complicated relationship with Hylia

Loft - he/they, in the midst of exploring their gender but for now is settled on trans man, bisexual, in a very committed relationship with his Zelda (and is planning to propose soon!!)

Minish - they/them, agender, demi + ace, just started dating their Zelda

Prism - he/him, cis man, bisexual, engaged to his Zelda

Mask - they/he, their gender is complicated but they don’t want to explain so they just say trans man, bisexual, not quite dating Malon yet but very very close (also has a minor crush on Sheik)

Oracle - he/him, trans man, pansexual, he is very far back in the closet so he’s not dating anyone but he was admittedly kind of into Ralph, and under different circumstances he could’ve loved Zelda, too (see this short wip) (also he’s so not over Marin)

Lorule - she/he/they, genderfluid, pan + ace, has the fattest fucking crush on Ravio

Rhythm - he/him, questioning gender, queer, hasn’t figured out if their feelings for his Zelda are platonic or not

Traveler - he/they/it, non-binary, aroace, he and one of its Zeldas jokingly flirt all the time bc they think it’s hilarious but they’re actually just super good friends

Wolf - he/him, cis man, bisexual, not in a relationship because he’s probably never going to get over Midna

Red - he/they, genderqueer, queer, still crushing on Erune

Green - he/him, cis man, bisexual, single

Blue - she/her, trans woman, lesbian, head over heals for her Zelda but refuses to admit it (everyone knows)

Vio - they/she, transfem non-binary, bi + demi + ace, has a…. complicated relationship with Shadow

Wind - he/him, trans man, bisexual, dating Tetra and is so proud of it

Spirit - she/her, trans girl, lesbian, has the biggest crush on her Zelda

Ages - he/him, cis man, pansexual, single but used to have a crush on Ravio during the war

Champion - he/they, was too busy studying the blade to consider their gender or sexuality or any romantic feelings (painfully oblivious to the fact that they have feelings for both Mipha and Zelda)

Wild - any/all pronouns, genderqueer, pansexual, dating her Zelda

here are also some side characters that are queer to some degree!!

Malon - she/her, trans woman, pansexual, very very close to dating Mask (and thinks Sheik is cute, too)

Mask’s Sheik (child timeline) - he/him, trans man, bisexual, not dating anyone but has a fat fucking crush on Mask and Malon

Pipit - he/him, trans man, straight, engaged to Karane

Marin - she/her, trans woman, pansexual, was dating Oracle

Champion’s Zelda - she/her, cis woman, bisexual, has a huge crush on both Champion and Mipha

Ravio - he/him, cis man, queer, has the fattest fucking crush on Lorule

AHSJFJKA THANK YOUU 😭🫶 yeah oracle’s got some Nasty scars that’ve got some equally Nasty stories to them AND OH JEEZ WHAT TO TELL YOU ABOUT VIDOW. THEre’s so much. there’s so much.

vio’s pronouns are they/she and shadow’s are he/they/it btw.

okok so Shadow actually isn’t shown in this au (not in the beginning anyway). the drawing is of them a few months after Vio originally joins his side in fsa, hence why their hair is way shorter. also fsa happened over the course of like a year and a half and then the main story of hcau happens around one to two years later. so it’s been a hot minute and Vio has gotten better at handling their farewell, but has never quite gotten over it. i’ve actually got a fic in the works where Oracle and Vio talk about Marin and Shadow called The Wild Flying Doves (huge inspo from my lady’s a wild flying dove by tom paxton, beautiful song) which should be done and posted soon!!

ANyhow ok jeez where do i start with them. they were terrible together, obviously, both doing irreparable damage to the other. they were obsessive and codependent and loved with undertones of nausea.

,,but sometimes they’d kiss over a shared cup of ale and dance drunkenly in front of their crumbling throne, the only music their combined laughter. and other times vio would point out the constellations, and whenever shadow was alone he’d look for her knowledge and essence in the stars. once, shadow accidentally tore the flesh of vio’s arm open with his nails, and, horrified with itself, ever so gently tended to the wound. to this day, whenever vio’s overwhelmed, her hand finds its way to that ragged scar on their right forearm.

they brought out the worst in each other but they were also the only ones who could bring out each other’s best. they were never meant to love each other successfully but by the Three did they try.

that’s all i can rlly say without huge huge spoilers, but rest assured i am absolutely obsessed with them. also whenever i listen to trouble by connie converse i think of them 🫶
