The Halloween party was in full swing at the Devils’ arena, transforming the usual atmosphere into a vibrant mix of costumes, laughter, and a hint of chaos. Y/N and Matt strolled in hand-in-hand, their costumes as Gomez and Morticia Addams drawing admiring glances from everyone around.

Y/N looked stunning in her sleek black dress that hugged her figure perfectly, her long black hair cascading over her shoulders, while Matt nailed the suave look of Gomez with his fitted suit and slicked-back hair. They felt like they had stepped right out of the Addams Family, and the chemistry between them was undeniable.

As they entered, Jack, Nico, Dawson, and Luke were already at the bar, decked out in their own costumes. Jack, dressed as a pirate, raised his glass in salute. “There’s our favorite couple! Morticia and Gomez, in the flesh!”

“Wow, look at you two! You really committed to the role,” Dawson added, leaning back against the bar with a grin. “Though, if we’re being honest, you don’t need to fake the love—everyone can see how devoted you are.”

Y/N blushed slightly at the playful tease, but Matt only smirked, clearly enjoying the banter. “What can I say? I’ve always been a romantic,” he quipped, pulling Y/N a little closer.

Luke chimed in, rolling his eyes dramatically as he adjusted his Scooby-Doo costume. “Oh please, Matt. You’re just as dramatic as Morticia. Don’t let it go to your head.”

“Yeah, Luke, how about switching it up next year?” Jack suggested, snickering at his teammate who had chosen to wear the same Scooby-Doo costume for the second year in a row. “I mean, you’ve got a whole season to figure out a new one.”

Luke shrugged, a playful glint in his eye. “Hey, Scooby is a classic! Besides, who doesn’t love a big, goofy dog?” He then patted his costume’s oversized head, making everyone laugh.

As the night progressed, the teasing didn’t let up. “Honestly, it’s a little sickening how in sync you two are,” Nico teased, his voice dripping with mock sincerity. “Gomez and Morticia? I think we should just start calling you lovebirds ‘Morty’ and ‘Gomez’ for short.”

“Or just ‘M&M’!” Jack chimed in, grinning widely.

Y/N laughed, shaking her head. “Okay, okay! You guys are the worst.”

“Hey, we’re just looking out for you, little sis!” Dawson said, raising his glass again. “We need to make sure you’re being treated like royalty.”

“Don’t worry, I’ll always be her knight in shining armor,” Matt replied with a smirk, his tone light and teasing. He took a dramatic bow, causing Y/N to laugh even harder.

As the music played and people danced, Y/N and Matt took a moment to step away from the chaos and grab a drink. She turned to him, her eyes sparkling with joy. “This is amazing,” she said, leaning against the bar. “I can’t believe how much fun we’re having.”

“Just wait until the dance-off starts,” Matt said, his eyes glinting mischievously. “I plan to show everyone my best moves.”

“Is that so?” she teased back, leaning closer to him. “I’m looking forward to it, Mr. Addams.”

As they shared a laugh, Y/N couldn’t help but feel grateful for moments like these. Surrounded by her friends, the teasing camaraderie, and the undeniable connection she had with Matt, it all felt perfect.

Just then, Luke, who had been busy taking selfies with the group, popped up next to them. “Come on, you two! Let’s get a picture together!” He gestured for everyone to gather around, and Y/N smiled as Matt wrapped an arm around her, pulling her close.

“Ready?” Luke shouted, and everyone cheered.

“Morticia and Gomez, striking a pose!” Jack added, and they all burst into laughter again.

The camera clicked, capturing the moment of joy and friendship, a night filled with laughter, playful teasing, and the warmth of camaraderie that reminded Y/N just how lucky she was to have such a loving family in her teammates—and now, in Matt as well.

Modern! Meadowlark Headcanons (Cole Edition)

(I decided to separate the characters because I have a lot to say about each of them and if I did them all in one post it would be extremely long)

• They would be known as the quiet awkward kid in school. People think they’re nice but nobody besides the Lark knows them well. A little bit of a mystery

• Probably in a club or two (most likely music and/or drama) but they don’t interact much with the other members unless absolutely necessary or it’s approached first (They’re too shy to approach first)

• If they were in Drama, it would rarely audition for a part in a play. They mostly work backstage as a sound designer or design set pieces

• Wouldn’t like horror movies. They don’t enjoy the violence and gore. Also not a fan of movies depicting war or end of the world type shit

• Huge book worm. They would spend their lunch breaks in the library reading. Not picky about the genre they read but it does have a soft spot for fantasy and mystery

• Would prefer online learning over actually going to school

• Had a 2020 alt phase (it haunts them in their dreams but they also sort of miss it)

• Not a huge fan of anime but they wouldn’t mind watching it if their friends really wanted to

• Huge fan of Gravity Falls. It finds the mystery aspect of the show interesting and they relate to Dipper a lot

• Beside Gravity Falls, they also like Over the Garden Wall, Charlie Brown movies, Winnie the Pooh, and Scooby Doo (specifically the old school and mystery incorporated versions but any of era is fine with them)

• I’m a bit iffy on this one but I think they would like gummies and probably prefer them over chocolate. It wouldn’t like sour ones though, just classic gummy candy like gummy worms, bears, etc

• LOVESSS ASMR. They would listen to it all the time. Reading, doing homework, sleeping- whatever it’s doing, they’re listening to asmr

• Other than music, their favourite subjects in school would be history and english (specifically creative writing, they don’t really enjoy writing essays)

• Prefers older music rather than today’s music. Unless it’s folk of some kind, they would prefer to listen to bands and musicians from the 60s and back. Additionally, it strikes me as the type to believe love songs back then and better than love songs today

• Would love watching those analysis videos on YouTube. It doesn’t matter what the topic being discussed is, they’ll watch it anyways because it just enjoys learning

• Because of their love for analysis videos, they know a bunch of fun facts about a variety of subjects. If someone were to ask them something about a particular subject, they would most likely know the answer, no matter how obscure it is

• I feel like they would absolutely rock the very controversial fashion trend of wearing skirts over pants. This is already somewhat canon but I still think it’s worth mentioning

• Along with skirts over pants, Cole would prefer wearing loose comfortable clothing that is easy to move around in

• Some staple pieces in their wardrobe would include: Long sleeve shirts, baggy t-shirts, sweater vests, button ups, zip up sweaters, loose pants, and flowy skirts

• Their style is very casual with just a dash of whimsy to keep things interesting, add some drama y’know?

I’m sure I’ll forget a lot of things and smack my own forehead in shame afterwards, but this is what comes to mind right away:

Literature:

Anything ever written by Victor Hugo is a masterpiece. This dude was a terrible human being, but he sure knew how to write, and he contributed to major changes in the social conscience of his contemporaries on many important topics (including but not limited to the death penalty and child labour). To give you a taste, here is my favourite poem ever, which he wrote, because of course he did.

My favourite piece of literature across all categories, though, is and forever will be Cyrano de Bergerac by Edmond Rostand — the story of a man who convinced himself his unusually long nose makes him monstruous. The concept sounds so silly, I know, but this play is a masterpiece and a wonderful love letter to the French language.

Which brings me to my favourite comic series: De Cape et de Crocs by Alain Ayroles and Jean-Luc Masbou! Basically a twelve-volume-long fix-it fic, disguised as a tribute to French literature. Also, a beautiful bromance.

Visual arts:

Basically everyone in France can quote at least one line from Kaamelott, a comedic (?) series derived from the Arthurian legend. It is so well researched and hilarious — until it isn’t.

I’m sure there’s like, a very obvious movie choice that will come back to me in a minute, but I was raised on Disney and Scooby-Doo, so these are clogging my brain at the moment. Just give it time.

When I was very young, I would watch TV at my grandparents’ and enjoy Les Hydronautes, an animated series about an extraterrestrial explorer documenting the Earth’s marine wildlife in an effort to learn how to better protect her own planet (Aka There Are Many Benefits To Being A Marine Biologist: The Series), as well as C’est pas sorcier, a series of very fun documentaries on a plethora of subjects, from lavender farming to volcanic eruptions.

Obviously, Miraculous gets a place on the list too! 🐞🐈‍⬛

EDIT BECAUSE I FORGOT: Fantomette the animated series! This show is single-handedly responsible for my taste for smart women with amazing hair who ride motorbikes and kick ass. It even had Egytpology as a key part of the plot.

Music:

For me Formidable by Charles Aznavour is a classic, a very cute song, and a great place to start if you want to learn French!

A few other favourites include Fanny Ardant et moi by Vincent Delerm, Le Dîner by Bénabar (extremely funny to listen to while thinking about the Diamonds’ Dance) and J’ai cherché by Amir (This one is… Borderline when it comes to grammar, but cute enough that I grin and bear it. Also, it got us an honourable ranking at the Eurovision a while back, which is rare enough to be celebrated).

ALSO. I complain too much about bad translations and poor writing (see previous bullet point) not to show you kids how it’s done with Je vole from Aladdin (a genius play on words which delves into the two significations of the verb “voler”: to fly or to steal).

Video games:

Long ago, before I discovered the wonderful world of Nintendo, I would wait patiently every month for the new issue of Toboclic. This game had everything: cute animal mascots, stories, mini-games, arts-and-crafts suggestions, catchy songs, interactive documentaries… I’m sure my parents still have the CDs somewhere, but they probably don’t run anymore, which is a shame. I miss my friends.

I really want to hear the opinions you have on this! What horror movies do you think the main npmd characters like to watch? I don't know much about horror movies (yet) but I like to think Max is the kind of guy who is genuinely scared of the live action Scooby Doo movies

Yes absolutely! Enjoy below the cut!! (Cos it's long and I'm sorry about that-)

I'll start with Max since you mentioned him. He's absolutely scared of even the Scooby Doo cartoons. Because of the fear of skeletons and ghosts. So he stays right away from paranormal movies. I think Ghost face even is a hard no, too. However: I think he liked the purge movies. Because those are just guns, really. But like. That's probably the only horror he likes.

Stephanie I think is a bad movies and popular movies enjoyer. She likes the most popular movies (Halloween, Elm Street, Friday, Etc) but then will pull out the most random movie you've never heard of (Frogs) and it'll be a moment and a half. She collects the memorabilia and has the replica of the Reverse Bear Trap even though I don't think she loves Saw. She's seen all of them. But I don't think she'd intentionally go out of her way to rewatch them outside of watching with somebody else. Not to say she hates gore, though. I think she'd love Terrifier and it's sequel. She probably saw them at the cinema.

Peter mildly dislikes horror. He's probably more fond of horror comedies. Things like child's play and the more recent elm street movies. He probably likes the Jordan Peele horror movies, too. Other than that, I think he'd like making fun of shitty B movies with Steph because making fun of them is the best part. He also probably unironically enjoyed the original black and white Universal Monsters movies. He has those vibes.

Richie is a film geek who watches anime and because I'm those things he gets the "he's just like me" and he loves all sorts of horror but in a more pretentious way than me. He's a stickler for the classics, probably hates all the remakes/requels - he refuses to acknowledge their existence. He probably has a list of his top favourites which involves the original Psycho, Halloween, Alien, and basically any other movie that was "revolutionary" to the genre. He does have a guilty pleasure for so bad they're good movies though. Mainly killer klowns. Also his ass probably likes the unique/artsy films like Jordan Peele's Get Out and Skinamarink.

Ruth hates all horror and she only watches the horror musicals. Thus her favourite horror movie is Sweeney Todd. She will happily vacate the room or hide under a blanket, thank you very much.

Grace thinks horror is satanic and, as a joke, I think the nerds would show her The Nun. And she grows a minuscule obsession with horror movies with religious themes and backgrounds. Like the Exorcist, the other nun films, midsommar, and Carrie to name a few. She would refuse liking them, of course. But she gets away with watching them from describing only the religious meanings.

HEY EVERYONE!

I'm sorry for the two year hiatus, I went through a period where I struggled and I really just had to come out the other side finding who I am. However, I am now back and feel so much happier! In case come of you forgot, I'm Ava! I originally had this account and ended up talking mainly about rock bands (notably KISS), Stranger Things, and Star Wars!

However, over the past two years a lot has honestly changed. I still love music, mainly now pop and musical theatre however I do love rock and still love talking about it with people. I am Christian! Christianity has been a long journey for me but I am so thankful to be in a really positive place with my faith. Nothing fills me with the Christmas spirit faster than Gremlins' opening title sequence. With some fake snow and a matte painting, the Warner Bros. backlot is transformed into a winter wonderland while Darlin Love's "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)" rings out. It perfectly sets the tone for the 1984 classic's masterful mix of horror, humor, heart, and holiday cheer.

After being impressed with their Freddy Krueger sweater, I was delighted to find a Gremlins Christmas sweater from Fun.com. The design features a trio of caroling Gremlins, a reference to the scene in which they sing for Mrs. Deagle before launching her from a second story window via a supercharged stair lift.

Shaggy’s psychiatric service “dog”

Not actually a dog—in reality he’s an alien who crash-landed near Shaggy’s house and took the form of a Great Dane, the Rogers got him trained as a service dog for Shaggy’s panic disorder, and the rest is history

Shaggy still has no idea (although he and the gang do think it’s weird that Scoob can talk)

Despite being a bit of a coward he’d do anything to protect the gang, especially Shaggy

Likes horror movies just as much as Shaggy

Will eat literal garbage if hungry enough (which is all the time)

Started developing doglike traits over the years (barks at people walking by, hates the vacuum, developed a taste for dog treats, etc.)

The 1989 Saturday Morning Experiment :ABC

So for three Saturdays I shall watch the cartoon line up of the Three Big Networks

The six shows I watched were Pup Named Scooby Doo,The Adventures of Gummi Bears ,The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh ,Slimer and the Real Ghosbusters ,Beetlejuice and the Bugs Bunny/Teety Show(I know I included Animal Crack Ups and the Weekend Special in my announcement of the progect but decided to exclude them both to make them even with the other networks which have six programs cause they arent really cartoon related .....Will still include Pee Wee when I do CBS cause there is a King of Cartoons )

So I pretty much woke up,had bowl of Capn Crunch.....Then regretted that and made Scrambled eggs instead ,clicked on the toon compilation....Only to find it didnt have full episodes though I was able to find most of them on Internet Archive,Disney + ,and you tube

First off how was the variety of programingPretty darn good ,we get a fun update of a cartoon classic,we get a fantasy adventure show ,a nice laid back show,a more toyetic action show, a goofy macarbre show and wrap it up with classic animation from the golden age

How were the shows:

Pup Named Scooby Doo is GREAT.I was a lil nervous cause this was my favorite Scooby Doo show as a kid ,and Im happy to say it holds up.Also introduced me to the concept of the Red Herring

Adventures of the Gummi Bears:From the handgul of episodes Ive seen......This show is cute ,its a fun fantasy adventure with acast including Paul Winchell,June Foray and Lorenzo Music ,what not to love .I dunno if I will watch more but its fun

New Adventures of Winnie The Pooh :....So I might get some hate for this,....As a kid I didnt like Winnie the Pooh.That said I have grown an appreciation for the franchise and character ,and this show is nice fun and laid back

Slimer and the REal Ghiost Busters:So I watched 2 Slimer segments and a full episode of the show,and while the Slimer stuff was hit and miss......Overall this is a really solid well done cartoon ,I think my fave character maybe Egon ,voice actings pretty good and the creature design is great

Beetlejuice:I think the show is good ,I think it properly zany and weird,voice acting is pretty good but I dont love it .I think its just I love the movie so much,still a solid 8/10

The Bugs Bunny /Tweety Show:I mean.....ITs Looney Tunes....Its classic animation ,hell Looney Tunes is a big reason I am into animation,of course its good

OVerallgood quality,good variety ,this is a very solid line up ,so ABC had a good SAturday Morning line up

This book is worth buying for the series name alone. Weenie is the dog, Frank (a cat) is his best friend, Beans (a guinea pig) is his other friend, and Bob takes care of them all. Bob made a meatloaf that he left on the counter and that Weenie simply must have. First the friends have to work together to get on the counter, and then they work together to make Bob a new meatloaf. It's zany fun that's beautifully illustrated by Bye.

An ant delivers a notice to Sir Ladybug that the book he checked out is due at sunset. Turns out it's in his friend Sterling's shell (he's a snail). They set off with Pell, a roly-poly, to find the library and return the book, which is a biography of a dung beetle. But there are a lot of bugs that need help along the way, and then three bookworms who want to eat the book. The best part by far is the library, which is a bit of a surprise.

Paige loves facts. When her friends Penn and Karla say the Evergreen Street Music School is haunted, Page makes a list of evidence and starts investigating to determine the facts. My favorite thing about the book: there are even a few pages on how facts need evidence, or they're just guesses, and another page that explains what to do when new evidence shows up. It reminds me of classic Scooby-Doo episodes (back when the supernatural stuff was found to be some sour adult with an agenda) but with more of a library-friendly focus.
