*EDIT: finn confirmed at a recent convention that mike had no romantic feelings when he first met el in the woods (he was only 12 years old, extremely worried about his best friend and did not have romance on his mind… he even compared finding el to finding E.T.) so the “love at first sight” trope is nonsense and whatever mike said in his monologue was out of desperation and contradicts what we see in the first season. we already knew this, but hearing finn say it himself too just makes this scene look even more silly (it would’ve actually made much more sense and been a lot sweeter if he said he loved her the moment she saved his life or did something selfless for someone or something like that, because then i’d actually believe that. but saying he fell in love with her the moment he met her + that his life started that day in the woods and expecting people to believe that and find it romantic????? are we serious??????????)

i think it's time that we as a society realized that actually eternals wasn't bad it was just not standard marvel fare and that's okay

#maybe i'm biased #it is my favorite marvel movie after all #but i truly think so much of the hate was that it was a diverse cast with overtly pro-choice messaging that freaked marvel fans out #is it flawed? yes. but all marvel movies are #but something about that found family and cast and creative team that clearly cared deeply about the story they were telling really got me #there was so much care put into the making of it!#lauren ridloff (makkari) made name signs for all the characters because she is actually deaf and wanted to make the film good representatio #and all the cast learned basic sign language so they could talk to her on and off the set #it's so unlike every other marvel movie and that's why i love it #it's not afraid to push boundaries and be strange and make mistakes #and i'm so sad that it will never get a sequel because there was so much potential for those characters and their stories #i wanted to see makkari and druig realize they love each other #i wanted to see them deal with the fallout of their actions #i wanted to see the family fracture and then see them all find their way back to each other #i wanted to see more queer representation in a character of color whose whole story wasn't all about being queer and isn't just a cameo #i wanted more!#and i'm not afraid to admit it!#maybe it would have been better as a tv show but i dunno. i switch thoughts about that a lot #i think the alternating timeline was really interesting and kept me engaged the whole time but i am definitely in the minority for that one #but i also don't like endgame so. you know. maybe i can't be trusted #anyway that was a whole ass essay #if you read all that hope you enjoyed. drink some water. give yourself a pat on the back. i love you.#the eternals #marvel #drukkari

every day I think of CS Lewis talking about how you never know what’s going to set someone off and about how when he was a teenager he fell in instantaneous love with this girl who was putting up party decorations and said “don’t you just love the smell of bunting” while sticking her face in the bundle of it she was holding

#I say instantaneous love but I am being delicate #it just. it makes me SCREAM #I remember reading it in surprised by joy and feeling like I’d been hit by a thunderbolt #because of the sudden insight into the teenage boy’s mind and psyche #it must just be an absolute storm in there #also just. YEAH. the truth that we can so knocked off course by one tiny thing another person does and they don’t even think about #it’s the intersection of the inner and outer worlds #like your internal world suddenly being LIT UP by some external action #that catches at your heart or imagination in exactly the right way #and you’re just sitting there reeling and they have no idea #it is. one of my favorite things about people #also it’s just INSANE #Lewis loved to put private and strange emotional experiences into words #*the truth that we can BE so etc. (my stupid typos)

I agree with you about Capcom bringing Nash back for SF6! I even made a post in my Threads account about him if Bison comes back, then there is a chance he might return! Please Capcom! Bring my boy back in the series! You been neglecting him for far too long!

I could go on about how I think they could bring Nash back in SF6 for AGES. The sheer fact that F.A.N.G. lived and is in SF6 (Fang Fei/Foo, A.K.I.'s master) makes me think that Nash probably survived his bout with Bison in some degree and could come back but there's so many ways they can go about it they could make it really insane if they wanted to.

They could have the Secret Society/Illuminati revive him again to use as an agent to gain ground against Shadaloo and potentially leverage Gill/the Society into higher threat standing (villain).

They could tie Darkstalkers semi-into Street Fighter and say that the Nash we would see is him after escaping the Makai and give him some more wacky magic-like powers (and give Darkstalkers fans like myself some more crumbs to survive on for a while lol).

They could lean into the Nash/Shadow setup from Marvel vs. Capcom and say that Shadaloo had/has him and the Nash we get to see is totally brainwashed into servitude by Bison or has escaped his brainwashing but like Cammy has no memories of his past. Or hell, just bring 'Shadow' back and it's just Nash but under a different name with different goals in mind!

But those are just my ideas after all.

Capcom needs to give us Nash STAT. I need to see my boy again!

Yes but one of the grand things about having Finn cook for me is that I don't have to suppress my autistic need to know every little ingredient inside of a food or dish because I can just endlessly ask him the question every five minutes or as needed.

#this is silly. this is so silly. I was also reminded of how overstimulating restaurants were especially when I cant wear any headphones or-#-earbuds because I dont want to come off as “ignorant/indecent person” sort of thing. But what is even more silly is me ominously staring-#-at my food trying not to ask. as it was made. in front of me. IT WAS A HIBATCHI RESTAURANT. The only things I didnt know were some of the-#-sauces that got put into the stirfry and even then im like 95% sure it was just soy sauce or like teriyaki. I dont know about the salad-#-though. That was like thousand island dressing but...lumpier. and something else. Restaurants are like the opposite of where I should hang #-out. They are my enemy. the only upside is that I can take my food home in a take out box if the place offers it. Cause eating infront of-#-other people i just cant do it. Which im sure ive said before perhamps. I was so worried the hibatchi person would question why im-#-not eating and I gotta explain to them that it's not the food I just have some strange.. paranoia? I suppose I would call it? I mean it is #-an irrational fear. Im not even that upset over it this was all last night im just running my mouth now.#It's where I can look back and giggle over it now because it was a bit silly. Forgive me Finn.
