Songs that reminds me of Dionysus ⊹ ࣪ ˖
Hello everyone🍇 This is my playlist of songs that remind me of the time I started working with Dionysus, or the songs that make me feel most connected to him. Maybe some songs don't have any Dionysian vibes, but they are important to me because they make me feel free, wild, and confident. They allow me to show my true colors and not be afraid to reveal who I really am, which is really important for my soul and for my Sag moon! >ᴗ< hope you like it♡

I’m fortunate that I’ve found someone who has that philosophy … [Love] is the most powerful thing. When it comes to my family, friends, a relationship … it centers me. You only live once, and I want to be proud of everything that I do and just have fun. I want to be able to say that I had a really fulfilled, fun life.”
Talking about Nick, an ex:

March 30th:
Justin sits down with Complex and talks about Selena and growing up in the game:
Complex: Obviously, you and Selena are fodder for the gossip blogs everyday. How hard is it to keep your relationship private?
JB: It’s so hard, because everyone’s got a camera-phone, and now everyone wants to get their picture on the blogs. So they’ll send anything that they have to the blogs. So you don’t really get any privacy. If I want to go out to eat, if I’m in L.A., I just have to expect that there’s going to be someone there. That’s the only thing that I don’t like.
Complex: Is it tough for you guys? A lot of people like, hate it. Do you guys hate it, or is it like, “This comes with the territory, we’ve got to deal with it, it sucks?”
JB: I’m kind of both. I don’t like it, but I understand it. I’ll be covering my face or something, and the comment that pisses me off so much is, “Oh, get over it, Justin. You’re famous. People are going to take your picture. Just suck it up. You’re rich. You’re making a lot of money. Suck it up. This is one of the things that you have to do.” I’m like, “Yo I just got off an eight-hour flight. I’m tired. My eyes have bags under them. I’m not trying to take pictures.” I’m not going to come to your house, wake you up out of a deep sleep and start snapping your picture, no matter how you look right now. It doesn’t matter. When I get off a flight, I’m not trying to sit there and let them take pictures of me. I’m tired. I’m scratching my eyes. I just don’t like taking pictures in general.
Complex: There’s been high profile couples in history: Justin and Britney, Jay and Beyoncé. Jay and Beyoncé kind of kept it private. Everyone knew they were together, but they kept it quiet. Even with the kid, they kept it so under wraps. Do you learn anything from those relationships? And do you guys talk about that?
JB: Yeah. I mean, for me, it’s like, there’s no way to hide it completely, because then it would be unfair for us. Then, we’re not even able to have a relationship. It’s like, “You take this car, and I’ll take this car, and then we’ll meet up at the spot. Then, you go in this door, I’ll go in this door. We’ll end up crossing ways. You get back in this car. We’ll cross over, do a James Bond. You go through the kitchen. I’ll go through the back area. Then we’ll meet in the dressing room and see each other.” At that point, it’s like, it’s not even a relationship. You’re just hiding from everyone. That’s unfair and unhealthy, man.

Seventeen: You’ve planned some amazing dates for Selena - who taught you to be so romantic?
Justin: I’m just trying to make her happy, that’s all. I think it’s important to make all woman feel like they’re princesses because every girl is a princess, I’m serious.
Seventeen: Will.I.am said he thinks it’s important for people to experience heartbreak so they’ll have something to sing about. What do you think?
Justin: I haven’t gone through it so I don’t really know what it’s about. I don’t think anyone wants to have heartbreak. I haven’t been in that deep a place yet, but I’m still looking. I’m still learning every day.

Selena debuts a new additional music video for Hit The Lights
Selena appears on On Air with Ryan Seacrest and opens up about her Kiss Cam at the Lakers game earlier this week, and Justin’s upcoming debut with Taylor Swift.
Asked about the Kiss Cam, Selena called it "the most humiliating thing that’s ever happened to me, probably."
“They were showing these little elderly couples, and it was so cute. Then all of a sudden we’re both looking up and we come on the screen and it’s like … it was so awkward. It was so weird. I mean you have to kiss, right?”
"They wrote a song together and it’s beautiful - it’s amazing - I don’t know if it will make the album, but if not I’m sure they’ll release it at some point, because it’s a really great record. It’s kind of like … it’s Taylor and Justin combined. So it’s a little bit of an upbeat song, but it’s very acoustic.”

UsWeekly releases a special edition of their magazine featuring Justin and exclusive photos/interviews titled Inside My World: Justin Bieber. He's questioned about Selena during his interview and mentions recently gifting her a diamond bracelet:
UsWeekly: At least you get quality time with Selena. What do you love about her?
Justin: I dunno! She just carries herself in a very elegant way. And my family loves her, which is usually hard because my mom’s really picky. My mom wants, you know, a good Christian girl with good manners.
UsWeekly: Do you understand girls better now?
Justin: Well, every girl is different, so they are hard to figure out. Like, the way most men work is the same. But each woman works differently. It’s like I can’t figure them out! But I do know girls like you to tell them you love them and that they’re all beautiful all the time. So I do that a lot with any girl I’m with. I tell them that as much as possible.
UsWeekly: Most romantic gift you’ve ever given?
Justin: I’m not saying to who- but I gave a girl an expensive diamond bracelet recently. It was so pretty, I knew she’d love it!
UsWeekly: Would you and Selena ever do a duet?Yeah. I think she’s very talented.
Justin: That would be very cool. We have nothing planned- but I’m not opposed to it!

May 27th:
Selena and Justin were strolling an outdoor mall in Calabasas when paparazzi began harassing them as they were trying to leave. According to witnesses (and photos taken) this photographer was so aggressive that he even blocked Justin's car, and was said to be rudely harassing Selena "about the herpes (coldsore) on her lip" while trying to capture a photo of her. After they began harassing Selena, Justin got out of his car and went to smack the camera from his hands and him and the photographer both fell off the curb.
The photographer was taken away by ambulance AND filed a police report that named Justin as the culprit. The Los Angles County Sheriff's office is investigating and say they will talk to Justin.
One of the girls who supposedly was there shared this:
"long story short; the paps were blocking his car and wouldnt move, he got mad after asking them to move, justin tried to knock their camera, the pap and justin both fell off the curb, he lost his shoe and hat while fighting him, selena and justin left and came back because selena lost her phone, and the paps would not get out of her face, and then they left and now the paps are trying to get money from the whole thing"
Another girl that was allegedly there as a witness had nearly the exact same story as above, except in addition she added the paparazzi were rudely asking Selena "about the herpes on her lip," and that's when and why Justin knocked his camera.

Detectives want to interview Justin and Selena after a photographer claims he was attacked by Justin at a Calabasas shopping mall Sunday, but authorities continue to seek additional witnesses.
In a statement released Tuesday, the Sheriff's Department said the investigation was continuing and that detectives "are planning to interview Mr. Bieber." Law enforcement sources said Selena is among the witnesses detectives would like to talk to. Detectives are investigating claims by the photographer that Justin struck him after he snapped photographs of Selena at the Commons at Calabasas Shopping Center.
The photographer complained of pain and was taken by the Los Angeles County Fire Department to a hospital, where he was treated and released, officials said. The sources, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because the investigation was ongoing, stressed that the probe was in its early stages.

Justin joined Selena's mom and step-dad at the Right to Laugh event hosted by the Alliance for Children's Rights at the Avalon in Hollywood. Selena's mom Mandy, a huge supporter of the organization, purchased an entire table to support the cause, and invited Justin to accompany her family.
"Selena and Justin sat side-by-side," a source tells PEOPLE.
"They were laughing and smiling the whole evening. They were being very low-key and gracious as to not take away any attention from the cause."
June 15th:
Justin officially releases his third studio album Believe and many of the album's songs are inspired by Selena and their relationship, including Be Alright, a song about their long distance relationship, that Justin wrote by himself:
Across the ocean, across the sea
Startin' to forget the way you look at me now
Over the mountains, across the sky
Need to see your face and need to look in your eyes
Through the storm and, through the clouds
Bumps on the road and upside down now
I know it's hard baby, to sleep at night
Don't you worry
Selena is referenced by name in the song Beauty & A Beat during Nicki Minaj's rap:

June 28th:
Justin cut short a pre-taped interview with U.S. radio show Mojo in the Morning after the host compared him to Justin Timberlake and quizzed him about a potential romance between his mother and One Direction's Harry Styles.
Thomas Carballo, the host of the show, was in the middle of a phone chat with Justin when he (rightfully so) took offence at his line of questioning - and hung up.
The 10-minute interview got off to a bad start when Carballo told Justin he thought he was Timberlake the first time he heard him.
Justin said, "That's funny because our voices sound nothing alike... Saying I sound like somebody else is definitely not a compliment."
Justin eased up when talking about his new song Maria, which was inspired by the woman who falsely claimed he was the father of her baby last year, but he lost his cool when Carballo got personal and asked if he was worried about Harry Styles falling for his mum.
The DJ said, "Do you worry about Harry around your mum, since he likes older women?"
Clearly upset, Justin then mumbled something about Carballo's mother and, as the radio presenter explained his mum was dead, Justin had already hung up the phone.
A record company representative then tried to convince the DJ that Justin's phone had cut off, explaining, "I can't get him. He's in a really s**tty area."
She later revealed Justin was "really upset" with the questions, adding, "He probably won't be calling back."

Fright night 2 (1988)-
So fright night 2 is great y’all are just mean. >:(.
Honestly it is a different kind of movie then what the first film was. It seams to go faster and almost all over the place. But it does succeed in being a good time and a fun story. Let’s get my nit picks and problems out of the way first
Charley is kind of wishy washy? Like one minute therapy makes him completely no longer believe. Then he does. Then he doesn’t then he does then he doesn’t. The charley Brewster I know would not be so easily doped by there being no marks.
They change the lore a bit? With Ed and Amy the transformation into a vampire was sort of instantaneous. They were bit and left alone for a few hours and could fully vamp out, now in the second it’s saying the “have to drink blood rule” I can’t speak for Ed but I know Amy definitely didn’t.
Peter Vincent is also a bit all over the place. Unlike charely he is completely firm in his belief the whole movie. However his logic seams to have left him entirely. I adore him being more spunky and excited as he can flock around claiming to kill a actual vampire etc but to peter’s credit I don’t think he’d rave like a mad man about them actually existing in the way he does in the movie
No evil Ed. That’s it. That’s the criticism. The last movie left open the perfect spot for him to make a comeback and he doesn’t. Smh
When the fuck- I read Dracula and when the ever living hell is roses a thing against werewolves or vampires? (Placing a rose on a coffin maybe but????)
Now to the good stuff -
Gays going to brunch
Honestly I kinda like the idea of “Jerry’s sister is pissed now your going to have to deal with her” also the “he was so young he was only 1,000” thing dhsksksksk. Also the ultimate revenge is making Charley immortal which props 👌 he’ll be a tragic louis type. However.... he’d also be there to annoy you forever, bad choice. I also refuse to believe anyone would replace a classic horror host with a weird ass interpretive dance.
Bowling-
I’m serious that becomes a theme in this movie it’s such a fucking random joke that happens twice and it’s just great lmao. 1st time charley looks very Risky business . The second time Belle, Bozworth and Louie take it over and honestly watching them do everything but bowl correctly is peak humor.
Influence-
This movie came out in 1988 and I can’t help but feel it was very heavily influenced by The lost boys and near dark that came out the year before.
Charley’s whole “what’s happening to me deal?” And the sunglasses , very Michael
Louie doing the blood from the vein into the mug thing from fright night.
Etc , idk if this is just my brain assuming as those two and. The og fright nigh5 are some of my favorite movies
I have two questions however
- is Louie a werewolf or does he just partically like to do the wolf thing- I’m assuming the second is the case?
-Is Belle trans or just a drag queen? I can’t tell with her, doesn’t help with no lines either. I’m sure this info is somewhere
Bonus round-
Alex is great, so is the guy from the hospital
I adore the whole thing with the therapist too
While Billy cole and Bozworth share the same position I do NOT think they are the same thing. Billy was definitely not oggie boogie style

Easy Cocktail Recipes: 16 Festive Drinks To Enjoy All Winter

Easy Cocktail Recipes: 16 Festive Drinks To Enjoy All Winter
When the weather outside is frightful, I like to drink something delightful. Some days call for a warm cocktail that will keep me cozy all night. On nights I’m feeling homesick, I may want a rum-based concoction that reminds me of my tropical upbringing in the Philippines.
This being the (objectively awful) year that it is, I needed all the help and inspiration I could get. Here, fifteen spirits professionals shared their winter drinking strategies—and of course, favorite cocktail recipes. And there’s something for every palate—from a Cognac-based old fashioned to ginger highball and beyond.
Easy-to-Make Cocktail Recipes for the Winter
THE HARPER CAROL
“I love American whiskey—so this cocktail was a no-brainer. The Harper Carol is a cold season variation on a ‘Junglebird.’ Kentucky meets tiki, contrasting this base spirit with Italian red bitter liqueur. Then, a cinnamon-date syrup deepens the beverage with notes of soft spices and dried fruit. Pineapple and fresh lemon juice add a sharp tropical acidity to the drink. This libation is a wonderful aperitif sour, best indulged during the holidays. Please enjoy responsibly.” —Adrian Alvarez, bar captain at Cecconi’s, New York City
Ingredients:
1 oz. I.W. Harper whiskey
0.50 oz. Italian red bitters
0.75 oz. pineapple juice
0.75 oz. lemon juice
0.25 oz. cinnamon-date syrup
Method: Combine all ingredients in a shaker tin, shake, double strain into a coupe. Garnish with dehydrated lemon wheel and grated nutmeg.
10 GENERATIONS OLD FASHIONED
“There’s nothing I enjoy more on a cool fall day than an Old Fashioned, which transports me to the vineyards of Cognac during grape harvest. With its high proof and fully round profile, Ferrand 10 Générations acts as the perfect replacement for bourbon in this cocktail—a welcom twist on the classic cocktail.” —Nico de Soto, beverage consultant and owner of Danico (Paris) and Mace (New York City)
Ingredients:
2 oz. Ferrand 10 Générations Cognac
0.25 oz. simple syrup
Orange twist, for garnish
Method: Stir all ingredients with ice in mixing glass. Strain and pour over large clear ice cube in double old-fashioned glass. Express the orange peel and place into glass.
BOURBON ‘N’ BERRIES
“We had a significant amount of bourbon in our liquor room when we reopened. Obviously, we wanted to find creative ways to use our inventory since reopening was so costly after the quarantine closure. I wanted something that was approachable, crushable, refreshing, and pretty. I used a whiskey buck as a template, which is basically whiskey and ginger. I amplified that with fresh raspberries, fresh lemon, cracked pepper, and a bit of spiciness from the ginger beer. And I wanted to name it something that was simple and straightforward that really tells it like it is. We’re not looking for any ambiguity these days. Do you like bourbon? Do you like berries? If the answer is yes, you will definitely like this drink.” —Naren Young, bar director at The Fat Radish Popup at The Orchard Townhouse, New York City
Ingredients:
1.5 oz. Woodford Reserve bourbon
0.25 oz. Frangelico
0.50 oz. raspberry purée
0.50 oz. lemon juice
0.50 oz. simple syrup
3 dashes saline solution
Barspoon of raspberry vinegar
10 grinds of black pepper in shaker
Method: Shake ingredients and pour on highball glass. Garnish with lemon wheel and 3 skewered raspberries.
HAI TEA
“Tea calms me down. And 2020 has been a year where I had to practice a lot of flexibility and roll with the punches—and drinking tea has helped keep me centered and focused. So yes, as you can imagine, I drank a lot of tea these past six months. I also spent time thinking about tea and how so many different cultures and people use tea to bring balance into their lives. For example, the English and Japanese have a high appreciation for tea—along with the peace and tranquility both can bring. Gin has typically been associated with England but Roku breaks the mold and celebrates Japanese botanicals like sencha tea, yuzu peel, and sakura. The Hai Tea is a nod to the English tradition of high tea, where one unwinds after a long workday with a cup of tea, while highlighting Roku’s Japanese flavor profile. After this long year, I think we all deserve to enjoy to unwind and have a Hai Tea with the hope it can bring peace and tranquility for just a moment in our new normal.” —Amanda Carto, bar manager at Nickel City, Austin, TX
Ingredients:
1 part Roku gin
0.50 part Giffard Carribbean Pineapple liqueur
1 barspoon honey
1 dash Scrappy’s Cardamom Bitters
1.50 parts hot ginger green tea (Tazo green ginger tea recommended)
Dried pineapple (optional)
Method: Add all ingredients to a heat-safe teacup. Stir 3 to 4 seconds with a small spoon to incorporate ingredients. Drink is intended to be served warm. Garnish with dried pineapple, if desired.
AUTUMN EQUINOX
“My inspiration for this pairing was familiar because of my love for Latin culture and the multiple layers of flavor, sight, and sound. Tanqueray London Dry pairs perfectly with the cocktail’s delicate balance of citrus and herbaceous notes.” —Danny Louie, bartender and founder at Gāmsāān Cocktail Co.
Ingredients:
1.50 oz. Tanqueray London Dry Gin
0.75 oz. almond syrup
0.75 oz. lime juice
0.25 oz. passionfruit juice
Method: Build all ingredients in a shaker and shake. Fine strain into a punch glass. Garnish with grated nutmeg.
FIRE ESCAPE
“I’ve found myself avoiding crowds during this period of uncertainty, while still perpetually seeking the sun. From the beginning of quarantine to the recent fall equinox, I’ve enjoyed most of my moments of imbibition on the steps of my classically Chicago wooden fire escape. I will absolutely be enjoying this seasonal sipper on my fire escape to capture all the cherished, yet rare bursts of vitamin D that the skies will allow.” —Brittany Simons, cocktail consultant and former head bartender at Bad Hunter
Ingredients:
1.25 parts Suntory Whisky Toki
0.75 part Basque cider
0.50 part Contratto Bianco Vermouth
0.50 part apricot simple syrup
0.25 part Bragg organic apple cider vinegar
Method: Gently stir all ingredients on a lemon twist, strain, pour into chilled Nick and Nora glass. Garnish with a manicured lemon twist.
JAMAICAN GOLD
“Those who know me best know that my two favorite classic cocktails are the daiquiri and the sidecar. With the Jamaican Gold I wanted to build a bridge between the two. And I knew Plantation Xaymaca, with its traditional Jamaican esters and Cognac influence, would be the perfect composer to lead the symphony. The flavors from the sour apple liqueur always remind me of my first visit to the apple orchards in northern California during harvest. The marriage between the rum and the apple liqueur influence thoughts of homemade apple pie. Lemon juice adds the perfect balance and brightness; while cinnamon syrup provides subtle warming spice. The perfect cocktail for chilly winter nights.” —Benjamin Jeffers, bartender at ABV, San Francisco
Ingredients:
1.50 oz. Plantation Xaymaca Special Dry Rum
0.75 oz. Leopold Bros. Sour Apple Liqueur
0.75 oz. Lemon Juice
0.25 oz. Cinnamon Simple Syrup**
**Cinnamon Simple Syrup: Bring 250 ml. water to boil and add 15 grams toasted cinnamon. Steep for 10 minutes, strain out cinnamon, and combine equal parts sugar and hot cinnamon tea until dissolved into a syrup. Cool and store in the refrigerator.
Method: Shake with ice, strain, serve up in coupe.
JOHNNIE WALKER GINGER HIGHBALL
“Scotch and ginger is a delicious and refreshing highball that allows some simple twists to elevate it to new heights. Johnnie Walker Black Label has loads of fall fruit flavors, coming from the selection of Speyside malts in the blend. The ginger ale pairs perfectly with the Scotch and the lime garnish freshens up the finish and aroma.” —Aidan Bowie, mixologist
Ingredients:
1.5 oz. Johnnie Walker Black Label
4.5 oz. Fever-Tree ginger ale
Method: Combine ingredients in a highball glass over ice and stir. Garnish with a lime wheel or wedge.
CÎROC CRANBERRY MARTINI
“When creating the Cîroc cranberry martini, the first thing that sparked inspiration was the ripe and crisp notes from the white grape in the vodka. Keeping winter in mind, we felt that the presence of cranberry (more specifically, cranberry bitters) would balance these notes while imbuing a palate ideal for the season. The dryness of the Fino Sherry adds additional luxuriousness to the drink and results in a cocktail that should warm up even the coldest night.” —Matt Landes, founder at Cocktail Academy
Ingredients:
1.50 oz. Cîroc White Grape vodka
0.75 oz. Fino Sherry
3 dashes cranberry bitters
Method: Add all ingredients to a mixing glass. Fill with ice and stir 20 to 25 times. Strain into a chilled coupe. Garnish with 3 cranberries on a cocktail pick.
SINGLETON & SPICE
“This is a perfect cocktail for the season. This hot toddy variation is one of my favorites. The honey, hot water, and lemon combination is a great remedy that’s long been known—and pairs with the Singleton 12, which brings spice and smoky notes to the mix. Garnish is important as well—to finish the recipe for more complexity and layers.” —Eric Ribeiro, mixologist and bar manager
Ingredients:
1.50 oz. The Singleton of Glendullan 12 Year whisky
4 oz. hot water
0.50 oz. honey
0.25 oz. lemon juice
**add cinnamon and apple slice for a flavor twist
Method: Add all ingredients in a mug glass and garnish with a lemon wheel spiked with 4 cloves and a cinnamon stick.
FIGGY PUDDING
“We wish you a merry Christmas and here is some Figgy Pudding. This cocktail is inspired by the flavors of a Christmas pud with fig- and date-infused whiskey and OM Dark Chocolate and Sea Salt Liqueur. It’s topped with a coconut-lychee whipped cream too. Have a wonderful Christmas!” —Claire Mallett, bartender at Catch One, Los Angeles
Ingredients:
2 oz. fig- and date-infused Jack Daniel’s apple whiskey**
0.75 oz. OM Dark Chocolate and Sea Salt Liqueur
0.50 oz. Becherovka
0.50 oz. Frangelico
Coconut-Lychee whipped cream**
**Infused Whiskey: Add 2 figs (sliced) and 6 dates to a mason jar of Jack Daniel’s Apple. Leave for 7 days. Remove the fruit and the whiskey is ready to use.
**Coconut-Lychee Whipped Cream: Add 2 oz. of OM Coconut and Lychee Liqueur to whipping cream and whisk.
Method: Pour ingredients into mixing glass with ice and stir. Pour the mixture into your glass and top with coconut-lychee whipped cream.
TOKI HOT RINGO
“I don’t know about you but I need all the squishy and comforting feelings this winter. This warm cocktail filled with local bright apples and baking spices brings back memories of going to orchards with my family, witnessing the leaves change, and taking a bite of the first apple I picked off a tree. It urges you to relax and sit by a crackling fire to enjoy the subtle vanilla and ginger notes of the Suntory Toki paired with fresh cider and local honey. Get yourself some apple cider donuts and you will be wrapped up in heaven.” —Meredith Barry, beverage development consultant at Niche Food Group
Ingredients (Serves Two):
4 parts Suntory Whisky Toki
1 part local honey
4 parts fresh-pressed apple cider
1 cinnamon stick
1 clove
Small pinch of salt (optional)
Fresh sliced Fuji apple, candied ginger, and honeysuckle flowers (for garnish)
Method: Rough chop cinnamon stick. Place cinnamon pieces and clove in a saucepan and toast until fragrant on medium–high heat. Add cider and salt. Lower heat to medium. Bring cider up to desired temperature. (Do not boil.) Take mixture off heat, then add honey and Suntory Toki. Stir until honey is dissolved. Remove pieces of spices. Pour into a teacup or mug. Garnish with fresh apple slices and candied ginger.
PUNCHING 2020 (FOR A PAIR OR A POD)
“The drink is a semi-modern reiteration of what probably would have been drunk at a New Year’s Eve celebration in the 1920s with the Fitzgerald. The ideal way to enjoy it would be in the once-omnipresent communal punch bowl with fresh raspberries and orange slices floating around. But since we’re still living through this pandemic and safety is a must, it’s as easy to shake a single serving. The citruses and the raspberry syrup are complementary to the aromatic Pomp & Whimsy flavor profile—with a little kick from the absinthe and a touch of complexity from the cognac-based triple sec.” —Giuseppe Santochirico, libations curator for Halftone Spirits at Finback Brooklyn, New York City
Ingredients (Single Serving):
2 dashes absinthe
0.25 oz. Benedectine
0.50 oz. Pierre Ferrand Dry Curaçao
0.50 oz. lime juice
0.50 oz. lemon juice
0.75 oz. raspberry syrup
2 oz. Pomp and Whimsy Gin Liqueur
4 oz. Champagne (or dry sparkling wine)
Ingredients (6 Servings):
12 dashes absinthe
2 oz. Benedectine
3 oz. Pierre Ferrand Dry Curaçao
3 oz. lime juice
3 oz. lemon juice
4.5 oz. raspberry syrup
12 oz. Pomp and Whimsy Gin Liqueur
1 750 ml. bottle of Champagne (or dry sparkling wine)
Method (Single): Pour all the ingredients in the shaker but the sparkling wine, shake, top with wine in the shaker, serve over ice in a small wine glass or a cocktail glass. Garnish with fresh raspberries and orange slices.
Method (Batched): Pour all the ingredient in a large punch bowl, add ice and stir to adequately mixing the punch. Garnish with fresh raspberries and orange slices.
JILO OLD FASHIONED
“The Jilo Old Fashioned is perfect for any occasion but it especially soothes the soul on a cold day. Let the robust and toasted notes of corn (unlike you have ever had) warm your body—while the light hint of chamomile, honey, and cocoa rounds everything out with a long finish. This gives you a small taste of Mexico in the comfort of your own home!” —Cesar Sandoval, national ambassador at Abasolo
Ingredients:
2 oz. Abasolo Ancestral Corn Whisky
0.50 parts Nixta Licor de Elote
3 dashes Angostura bitters
Lemon and orange twists, for garnish
Method: Add Abasolo, Nixta, and bitters to a mixing glass, then add ice and stir until cold and diluted. Zest citrus over rocks glass and add fresh ice. Strain drink into glass, roll zest into attractive curls and lay garnish atop the ice.
2020 TRAINWRECK
“Twenty–twenty was a weary trainwreck of a year, but this tropical tepache tipple is refreshingly balanced.”
Ingredients:
1.5 oz. rum
2 oz. Big Easy Pineapple Tepache
0.75 oz. ginger syrup, such as The Ginger People organic ginger syrup
0.5 oz. fresh lemon juice (Natalie’s brand preferred)
2 dashes bitters, such as Angostura
Pineapple leaf, for garnish
Sparkling water, such as Topo Chico, to top
Method: Combine rum, ginger syrup, lemon juice, and bitters in a shaker tin filled with ice. Shake and strain over fresh ice cubes into a cocktail glass. Top with tepache and sparkling water and garnish.
FESTIVE FIZZ
“This cocktail really brings out the different flavors of the holidays with the cranberry, pomegranate, and rosemary. The fruity, citrus notes that you get from the fresh juices complements the fresh agave and oak notes from the Patrón Reposado, which makes for a truly refreshing cocktail. It also doesn’t hurt that the cocktail is a beautiful red color making it perfect for any holiday celebration.” —Stephen Halpin, manager of mixology and trade at Patrón Tequila

0.75 oz.rosemary simple syrup
0.75 oz. lemon juice

Things They Carry In Their Pockets…
Note: Surprise! This was just a quick fun little headcanon I had in mind for a few days, it’s nothing lengthy but I thought it’d be kind of a fun one to do 🤷♀️ Anyways, I hope you enjoy!
Warnings: Mentions of pocket knifes, lighters, cigarettes, and one mention of weed… I think that’s it.
Fandoms: The Lost Boys, Near Dark, Fright Night (1985), Fright Night Part 2 (1988)
David: David doesn’t carry a ton in his pockets honestly. Motorcycle keys, probably some cigarettes, a bottle opener and that’s about it. He always forgets matches or a lighter so he’ll just bum a light off someone else.
Dwayne: Also motorcycle keys, definitely a lighter and probably a pocket knife, and a handkerchief. Sometimes some spare change and a multi tool for small bike repairs.
Paul: Sometimes motorcycle keys, although he tends to lose track of them on occasion. Rolling papers and a bag of weed he bought from some rando on the Boardwalk, a lighter, probably some loose change and bits and bobs he picks up off the beach (shells, rocks, bottle caps etc)
Marko: Quite similar to Paul, but probably has even more random shit in his pockets. Those pieces of broken bottles he thought were sea glass, but no one has the heart to tell him otherwise. This boy picks up EVERYTHING! Also rubber bands he likes to fling at the others, old tickets from Boardwalk games, and of course motorcycle keys.
Star: Well of course she collects things off the beach, probably some cool rocks and shells. Hair ties, one of those little pocket sized sewing kits.
Severen: Pack of cigarettes, pocket knife, lighter, maybe some of those flavored toothpicks he picked up from some bar he’s been to. Spare change and a few dollars.
Jerry Dandrige: More than likely he has a wallet, a beautiful ornate silver (but not real silver of course) pocket knife he mainly uses for fruit, sometimes gum, I just think he’s the type to chew gum every now and then.
Regine Dandrige: I honestly can’t see her carrying much of anything. But like her brother she has one ornate piece she keeps on her, a lipstick case encrusted with ruby. That’s it.
Louie: Not much of anything either, except he does have this swiss army knife that he thinks is the best thing in the entire world and he will always gush about it. Also a handkerchief, and some of that breath spray.
Belle: Skate tool for her roller skates, nail file, and some lip gloss. She’s pretty simple in that respect. I like to think she carries around a little card or something that says ‘these idiots belong to me’ in case Louie and Bozworth get into it, that she shows concerned people just to keep them out of trouble.
Bozworth: He carries some pocket change, keys for various things, and a small pocket guide to insects.
**I know Bozworth isn’t a vampire, but I thought he should be included anyways so there he is**

Fright Night Part 2 featured the first Trans (and disabled) vampire (And other interesting facts)
Today was the 29th anniversary of Fright Night Part 2 (1988). Fright Night Part 2 featured the first transgender vampire in modern cinema. Her name is Belle. Belle was also portrayed as mute though no backstory is given to explain her muteness. Some fans speculate trauma of being turned into a vampire (possibly against her will) or some sort of mutilation shortly before being turned into a vampire such as tongue or vocal chords being torn out left her mute.
I, personally, suspect the behind the scenes reason for her muteness was that the person who played her feared that his voice wasn’t feminine sounding enough for the character as he imagined her.
Belle is the henchwoman of the main antagonist, Regine, sister of Jerry Dandrige (the main antagonist of the first Fright Night). Jerry Dandridge (by the way) is implied to be Dracula himself according to the Fright Night novelization.
Choreographer Russell Clark played Belle. He passed away in 2002. He was thirty-nine-years-old when he played Belle. He was active in the LGBT community and wanted Belle to be a respectable and beautiful portrayal of a Trans woman despite being a vampiric henchwoman.
Charlie’s roommate in the film is portrayed as bisexual man named Richie. At Regine’s party Charlie searches Richie’s neck for vampire bite marks while Richie appears to be drunk. Richie smirks at Charlie checking him out and when Charlie tries to explain what he’s doing Richie says “It’s the wrong thing to do.” indicating that he thought Charlie meant to date rape him / take advantage of his drunkenness.
Jon Gries (Who is Louie in Fright Night Part 2) was also the The Wolfman in Monster Squad.
Fright Night Part 2 is one of the only films to acknowledge that wild roses can be used to ward off or contain vampires, much like garlic. In fact the film specifically acknowledges that this weakness is mentioned in the Dracula novel. Another work of vampire fiction to acknowledge this weakness is the 1990s Dracula: The Series (Not the NBC version).
Something else interesting to note. Ingrid Pitt was thirty-four when she played Carmilla in The Vampire Lovers and Julie Carmen was thirty-four when she played Regine in Fright Night Part 2. For some odd reason this is the common age for female vampires in film while male vampires are all over the age range spectrum.
The main theme of the movie is “Come to Me” covered by Deborah Holland. The song was also in the original Fright Night but changed to a female vocalist for the sequel as to make it sound like Regine, herself, was singing it, while the first version was for Jerry Dandridge.
