The pale light of the moon illuminated the city of King’s Landing, a dense blanket of snow covering the cobbled streets, tattered rooftops, and darkened alleyways underneath the crisp, starry sky. It was on this cold night that the Realm’s Delight was giving birth to her third child.

Her piercing cries of agony blended with the howling wind, creating a ghostly wail that flooded the halls of the Red Keep. At long last, the Realm’s Delight held her newborn in her arms with a gentle grasp, a beautiful princess, born at the stroke of midnight amidst a raging white storm. The child was a beacon of hope, a shining addition to the Targaryen dynasty.

Rhaenyra smiled softly as her finger caressed the soft cheeks of her daughter. The slight movement triggered a bubbly laugh to pour out the young child and a gummy smile to appear upon her face. Her tiny hands chased after her mother’s finger, eager to hold it, causing Rhaenyra to chuckle lightly to herself.

It was indeed a heartwarming scene of a mother and her daughter.

Hi there! You can call me Ro - I'm 21+ and go by he/they! I decided to make a blog separate for all my rp endeavours, so feel free to look through whatever I post or shoot me a message if you think we might get along! I'm a pretty selective writer but I'm always open to chat! I write typically advanced literate, multi-para to novella style (500-1500 words an average reply, but can go up to 3000+ with other novella writers!) though the length depends on what's going on in the scene. Right now, to nobody's surprise, Gale/Devi is eating my soul. On paper, they shouldn't work -- he's an educated, wealthy, powerful mage (who makes very poor life choices), and she's a much-younger-than-him thief who grew up as an urchin on the streets of Baldur's Gate, whose only "acceptable" skill is playing a violin (apparently pickpocketing and stabbing people aren't considered widely acceptable or desirable skills?). But in all the ways that really count, they are compatible -- they're protective of each other and their friends, and Devi's street-smarts balance out Gale's book/arcane knowledge, and her feisty-ness is another counter to his more balanced way of dealing with things (read: he's 90% of her impulse control). I suppose opposites DO attract! ;)

Theron/Xaja has lived in my brain ever since Shadow of Revan dropped, in canon-verse and in at least two AU's. Theron definitely brought out a side of Xaja that isn't necessarily a proper Jedi side to show, but it's definitely her -- she's also feisty, and protective, and she's got a snarky streak to her that sings to Theron's soul. And she loves Theron's devotion to the cause, and his intelligence, and his wit.

(also, looking at Xaja and Devi... apparently I've got a TYPE when it comes to my main characters in RPGs. You should take a look at my canon Warden from DAO sometime, Lynaen... who ALSO is a redheaded dual-wielding rogue with a healthy dose of snark. At least she was raised a Cousland and didn't spend time learning how to pickpocket on the streets like the other two? #roguelifeFTW)

And I gotta talk about Reanden/Mairen too. They started on a bit of a whim when @andveryginger and I decided to throw them together for a couple of one-off kiss prompts, annnnnd now they run a good chunk of our respective brains (Reanden likes to hang out in Ginger's head a lot). Mai (Ginger's) loves Reanden's intelligence, and his dedication to his kids and the Republic, and the compassionate, caring streak he has under his sociopathic facade. And he's got a type for snarky redheaded Corellian Jedi ladies -- the fact that Mai loves his kids like they're her own, and doesn't think less of him for his rare moments of vulnerability, means the galaxy to him.

First Ship

Oh man -- my very first OTP was Faramir/Eowyn from LOTR, ever since I first read the books at the ripe old age of 12 years old, and it's STILL one of my favourite ships. I think, even 20 years ago, I was seeing myself in Eowyn (as a female character, as one who wanted to fight and seek out renown, as one who, as I would discover later on in my own life, had a bucketload of mental health problems to the tune of depression), and wanted my own Faramir (gentle, noble, compassionate, intelligent). So a bit of projection there? ;) The first ship I wrote... well, I'd started a girl-falls-into-Middle-earth fic in high school, and the endgame goal was my OC with Legolas, but looking back on it now, I think my OC may have had more chemistry with Boromir. Either way, that fic has been abandoned for like 15 years -- I ain't bringing it back out to resurrect it. ;)

Currently Reading

"Tress of the Emerald Sea" by Brandon Sanderson. I'm not too far into it, but so far I'm enjoying it! (Also, I LOVE Sanderson's writing style, and the little bits of snark he peppers in there. Current favourite line: "... he had a jaw so straight that it made other men question if they were.")

Last Film

In theatres -- "Argylle", which I enjoyed! I wouldn't class it as a "favourite" movie, but it was fun! At home (read: at Chez Boyfriend), it was "RED" -- that's one of my favourites. Bruce Willis and Karl Urban snarking at each other... =D (Karl is also my faceclaim for Reanden, and that movie was a big inspiration!)

Nothing at the moment! I have my coffee and I have a big-ass Costco-sized muffin that I'm working on before I go for my tattoo appointment. (Also, Part 1 of my tax return came in last week... I could get ALL the groceries, thank God! Part 2 is dropping on Thursday, for all the backpay after the CRA applied the ADHD disability credit to my previous years... So...today I answered an ask about my dream fic plot and I say that it would villain redemption story. While that is true, I am aware that I can't write it myself. I lack the experience to actually write it well and giving any villain a redemption arc kind of means that the story has a happy ending...? If you know me even just a little bit, you'll probably guess it's not really my cup of tea. I'm a sucker for angst and tragedy and that's what I feel most comfortable writing. Which is why I decided I will indeed attempt to write a villain story, but it will be more of a character study. The main character will be a fallen Maia named Moyeldë (one of the many OCs that will appear in my main WIP The Lady of Ithilien and additional one-shots/snippets related to it) who is basically Sauron's main love interest (or so she thinks) in the Fourth Age. Our little fiery Maia comes back and does some stuff, but that will be addressed in LOI.

This new project is about Moyeldë (her name was given to her by Morgoth when she followed him in the aftermath of his rebellion against Eru and it is Quenya for "slave-daughter"=> I combined Mól=slave and Yeldë=daughter).

She's always been in love with Mairon and had a major rivalry with Thuringwethil as the both of them wanted to be his one true love. It is my headcanon that Mairon had a whole Harem in Angband and enslaved Elf-maidens as well as Maiarin women fought one another all the time to be THE ONE FAVORITE. Since it is unclear how Thuringwethil died, it is my headcanon that it was Moyeldë who finished her with Mairon's full support and approval. (Huan only wounded her).

Moyeldë will be eventually killed by Eonwë in LOI, but this new fic will explore her whole life (or maybe just parts of it) and her descent into madness and her delusions as she becomes more and more ruthless. It's a character study basically.

Fancast for Moyeldë is Meryem Uzerli, specifically her role as Hürrem Sultan in the show Muhteşem Yüzyıl (Magnificent Century). She has a slightly unhinged, psycho quality to her that I think fits Moyeldë perfectly.

there was no doubt and worry beyond grief at the passing of the former lord of godsgrace. lord willem, beloved and feared as he was, raised, mentored, and shaped — with his own bare hands, a son that rivals even his own formidable reputation, intelligence, cunning, and abilities.

garin was raised by the ruling lord and lady like they were his own, so closely and adamantly that when he was introduced to court, everyone had forgotten he was born to a fallen sworn sword.

he was mentored closely by his father. taught all that he needed to know about the world — its light and darkness. the cruelties, the green-eyed monsters donning various colors and banners, and the desires of the flesh. there were many things he learned beyond what maesters can offer, the words and stories not found in history books or scrolls. his father ingrained in him the inner workings of westerosi politics, strategies of war, and the fickleness of men.

and when garin fell short of the standards his father set, whether in studies, combat, even hunting, the rage came in the form of a long, black whip that strikes skin, rips at flesh, and shakes his bones. there he was reminded, the greatest teacher and lesson of all, one that never forgets, and will always be remembered : PAIN. and in pain, his own and that of others, he found solace.

lady myria was a kind woman, but she looked the other way whenever her husband disciplined their son. garin nursed the resentment, set them aside when she would tend to his wounds.

by the time garin realized it, he found himself filled to the brim with fury and loathe not of his own. shoved and stuffed in him by his own father to make him in his likeness, shaped him into a monster beyond recognition.

garin lost something in him, could not quite remember what, but he was empty without what he was given, what was forced and thrusted upon him. so he wears the allyrion coats like it was his skin, wore the gold-adorned mask to hide the monster that his father made of him.

even spending years in the citadel to tear down the walls that made the son of lord willem allyrion, did nothing. he left and came back the same horrifying man, only this time equipped with the proper knowledge to further his father's plans.

the joy and celebrations of his return was cut short when lord willem passed suddenly. there were no protests in his ascension. in fact, it was the only reasonable course of action. he had been ready years before, if anything, this was just a formality. ( not everyone can be pleased, however, for there are still whispers of garin besting his father the night before ... a monster devouring a monster . )

cyra was the only child born to the ruling lord and lady of riverrun. her father was very obviously upset over the birth of a daughter, especially when they'd been trying for years and their victory came in the form of a curly haired lady. she grew up constantly trying to prove her father wrong, except in ways she found represented her - so when he would arrive home with a suitor, it was common for her to roll her eyes and question if they could best her in battle, she would be theirs. the situation ever only went two ways, the first in which they would call her mad and be on their way... the second would take her up on the challenge. there was only ever once she was beaten in combat but simply replied, " you have earned my respect, my lord, but my heart is not easily won. " ( would loooove a plot for this like suitor turned bestie who she respects a lot hello ?? )

she was a spitting image of her mother, more so in her attitude and free spirit than the curls that often appeared red in the sun. those curls, those beautiful curls that she came to be known for were from her father and it created a resentment in her that he was never able to compliment them like her mother often would. losing her mother so young was one of the hardest things cyra had to go through, especially with her father's distance. she did not care what other lords or ladies thought of her but her father's constant disapproval caused whatever motivation she had to be his perfect daughter out the window. it didn't help that everything she defied him in was something that made her genuinely happier - not worrying about being his heir, who she would marry or what would be of her because she would make it so.

from that moment on, she was adamant about living the life she chose. she did not care for status or power but warmth in her bed and love in her heart. cyra began to spend time devoting to the only orphanage in the riverlands and would spend coin to give them better resources, much to her father's dislike. when the aldrich family was lost to a fire and their daughter left an orphan, cyra didn't hesitate to offer the lady kasia an opportunity to join house tully. she wanted to give her wealth to those who needed it most and give love to those who had lost their own. not a replacement, gods no, but a safe home with someone who cares for them. cyra never expected to one day be called mother, but it was certainly one of the best days of her life. she did the same when she found sabine and gave the same offer to them as well as every other child welcomed into the tully home, coming to adore all her children with her entire heart.

the baratheon rebellion complicated things. her father would display her like a prize to be won and she had never felt so angry. angry that his desperation was so obvious and that she was who had to suffer for the betterment of their house. if their house relied on her misery, then it would die with her and never be carried on ever again. maybe that's what her father deserved. despite her own anger, cyra had a future to focus on with her children and wanted to do whatever could be best for them. however, this entire time she had fought so hard against betrothals for multiple reasons but the strongest was she herself was in love. there would be no match for her other than the lady arryn and she wouldn't hear anything else.

the greatest surprise yet was her father's approval. cyra gives credit to her wife for the moment, thinking it was due to marrying a house in equal standing ( even more so with their baratheon alliance ). she had waited her entire life to receive his approval and had felt proud of him for the first time ever when he decided to fight with their forces. cyra remembers the night she waited in their hall, staring at the door and feeling the sadness wash over her when one of their advisors broke the news of his death. they had always had a complicated relationship but cyra mourned him greatly.

in the years after, cyra has made it a priority to give her family the opportunities she was never given. " family, honor, duty... those are house tully's words. never forget what word comes first. " she would often tell her children as they grew, always honoring where they came from while teaching them about their house and the values she had. they could either call her cyra or another term of endearment if mother was too strong - and yet, they all warmed to the word in time. she never stopped donating to the orphanage and does her best to keep a mind of what's happening in the riverlands. cyra is incredibly prideful of her home, her family, and how far she's come.

cyra is an extrovert at heart but rarely has the desire to converse with strangers... or most lords, honestly. she often finds herself bored with court discussions and things of the southern region, having a big distaste for house baratheon but she tries to be polite. is a huge momma bear even if you're not her children and is an incredibly safe space for talking shit about the king ! she thinks most traditions are stupid and is kind of judgmental about a lot ... also if you are mean to people in front of her, she'll remember and she'll make sure you know she remembers.

the second daughter, the third child - areum believes she grew up well, though often left to her own devices. this freedom suited her well, as she had a nanny (and later a governess and tutors) who provided her with company and affection. she did love finding her older siblings to show them flowers, bugs, rocks, frogs ... she always had a dirty face and a bright smile.

when their little sibling, aeri, was born - areum took to them quickly. she was curious about them and once she learned that babies didn't appreciate bugs, she'd leave them flowers. when she and aeri were old enough to have a relationship, areum was always with them. she would announce that there was no one else she needed in the world, as long as she had aeri.

together, she and aeri were able to explore the autumn court together, and they had their mischievous pranks and games... she looks back now and wonders if she should have behaved like her sibling did and maybe if she hadn't encouraged them to have fun and play -- maybe aeri would have gained the attention they desired. while aeri wished for their parents' affection, areum was comfortable without it - having a closer relationship with her tutors and servants and viewed her parents with affection but without loneliness when they were gone.

she was the type of child that when other children tried to pick on her (as she struggled at first to control / manipulate fire and would accidentally set things on fire, earning her the teasing nickname "salamander") - she'd shove them into the mud or drop a bucket of flour and water on them. she was unrepentant and assertive - while her governess lamented on her failure to make the child into a proper little lady.

as she got older, and she was trained in how to be a proper lady of the autumn court - she was encouraged by her mother to find her passion. she had always loved to dance and it was one of the lessons that she would never miss. she began incorporating fire into her routines, manipulating fire and turning it into an art that she blended into dance.

perhaps it was part of growing up and perhaps due to her desire to dance and perform, she matured. she became focused on dancing and her art - no longer the wild child she had been. if she was awake, she was dancing, or recovering from practice -- and it was during her recovery that she began to learn how to do her other hobbies - embroidery, flower arrangement, tea making and tea ceremonies etc. this furthered her focus and maturity.

her grace and power during her performances drew the attention of her parents and the rest of the court. this drew her further into the autumn court and away from their sibling, aeri. no matter that she tried to tell them that they weren't dancing for attention but because dance called to her, and she felt like dancing was where she felt most free.

it was as if she grew more focused and calm, her closest sibling became more rebellious. she wanted her parents, and by extension the court, to see aeri for all the good that they provided, the love that they gave, their strengths. she tried to encourage them to find their passion, like their mother had told her to find -- and perhaps this is what started to widen the gap between them, and this was the first of many arguments.

now, she is a figure within the autumn court - she is calm, gentle and ... frankly bored - though only those who had grown up with her would see that. over the years, the fire and passion have left her, leaving her reserved... the only time she still feels the warmth and fire that she had once is when she's dancing - and even that is starting to slip away from her.
