BLACK: what face claim from an anime, comic book, or cartoon do I associate with you?

Oh, this was a hard one! Of course, there’s that sort of lean towards your icon or plain out just seeing you as Apple, but just taking a step back, I think I have to go with a cartoon character here instead of an anime character, but Audrey Ramirez from Atlantis: The Lost Empire, is probably the closest I could come to how I picture you!

WHITE: what flame type and box weapon do I think you’d have in the khr!verse?

I don’t know if I’ve mentioned this before, but there’s a couple different ideas I do have for you as far as Flame types go. Of course, because of your impressive creativity and interesting ways of thinking, there is the desire to put you as a Mist Flame, since you are someone who could easily create things with that brilliant mind of yours. However, overall, I do think you give off the Aura of someone with a Rain Flame slightly more, so I do have you as a Rain Flame type. As far as box weapons go, I definitely think a Rain raven box weapon would be what you use, because of the obvious spiritual, emotional, and intellectual beliefs around the bird. In my head, it normally perches on your shoulder but it can fly around, spreading the Flames over a fairly wide area or it has the added ability of being able to calm and almost tranquilize whoever it lands on that is not you.

RED: what aesthetics do I associate with you?

The smell of home-cooked meals and the act of making food alongside friends or family, with shared laughs and memories to treasure forever. Backpacking abroad, new adventures with every step of a hiking boot clad foot. Calm and peacefulness. Kindness, always choosing to reach out a hand to those in need. February 12th, 2024

Last day in Amsterdam and we went to the cafe former Italian roommate wanted to go to yesterday. Apparently they're famous for their matcha, so we all got some except for authentic australian for got a flat white. Third culture australian (TCA) wanted a dirty matcha (shot of espresso) and the guy was very confused, but agreed to do it anyway. Everyone got crossiants except for me because it looked like they didn't have enough. When it was my turn to order I asked the owner what his favorite cake was and he immediately brightened up, talking to me about each of the cakes in the display. I chose the one he immediately went to which was passionfruit. That was absolutely the correct decision. Honestly, it was one of if not the best cake I've ever had in my life. Wandu cafe I love you so much.

Downstairs they had a little art exhibit which I was also very cool and we ended up staying and talking for a bit.

Afterwards we walked around some more, did a little shopping (or window shopping in my case) and got loaded fries. In the square there was this guy who was a pigeon whisperer and they kept landing on him and flocking around him. Ive never been more jealous. Our last stop before the train was for the original stroopwaffles which were good but expensive. It also took them forever to get mine, I'm pretty sure they lost my ticket. When they finally did bring it out I was standing right in front of the door when the guy came out looking for me and was complaining he couldn't see me. So that's the 2nd dutch person I've been invisible to, I have no idea what's going on here.

On the train ride back I started the drawings from the last few days (I took a break because I didn't have the time/energy) and I did the skull first. It's authentic Australians favorite painting and he asked me if I could do it in neon colors. Everyone slept for most of the ride and we said goodbye to former Italian in Maastricht before getting on the bus to Aachen. It's still Karneval so lots of people on the bus were in costumes and playing music but we were too exhausted to join in. TCA did end up going out that night to see the celebrations but I called T and then watched vampire diaries with authentic australian.

I did stay up too late drawing but ah well.

Shroom Log 19. Feb 2023

As some of you may know, I grew up near the sea, but I now live in the greater Cologne area. This Weekend is Karneval-Season, which I find excruciatingly strenuous, so I decided to get out to the forest.

I was hoping for some Oister-Mushrooms and maybe some Judas-Ears, but it's been a pretty warm few days so my hopes weren't high, as we're now reaching the very end of winter. Coincidentally this is also the very beginning of the season for deer to loose their antlers, so I was hoping to maybe come across some of those.

The forest I chose wasn't my usual territory. Instead I traveled to a forest on the other side of the rhine. On my way from the station to the woods I stopped by a local supermarket chain and "foraged" some bread I had forgotten to buy the day before and also met some very friendly sheep on the way.

At this point it started to rain a little so I hurried into the forest.

Did you know that large parts of the German forest are currently threatened by a plague of bark beetles? The trees can usually fight them off but after a decade of dry summers and warm winters the trees are severely weakened. It's one of the first effects human-caused climate change is having on northern Europe.

It's not yet quite warm enough for symbiotic mushrooms like porcinis to flourish but a little to warm for most parasitic winter fungi to develop fruits. You can walk into a forest with the intention of foraging a specific mushroom but whether you succeed is up to the forest.

The mushroom I came across the most often is this little fella, the Trametres Ochracea (Ockerfarbene Tramete), a parasitic mushroom that feeds on all kinds of dead wood. I say little, but these guys can get BIG.

Unfortunately they are not edible, just like the Daedaleopsis Confragosa from the same family.

Barely into the forest a raven flew by; I took the time to mind Odin on my way into the woodland.

Most dead birch carried the Piptoporus Betulinus (Brikenporling), which aren't edible, but they can be made into a healing tee that has some antibiotic effects.

I took a little one home for my altar.

These are Flammulina Velutipes ("Velvet Shank" or "Gemeiner Samtfußrübling"), the first edible mushrooms I found today. They usually grow in the cracks of dead but also alive trees and form thin, sticky fruits 2 to 10cm across.

I thanked Vidar and the spirits of his dominion by stacking some stones and then decided to head home, because at this point I was holy lost. While i didn't find any of the things I was looking for I'm still very happy with the day. I learned a bit about new mushrooms and I got a break from the city.

It's starting to sound like Germans save up all their celebration power for Silvester. Other holidays: fairly quiet, subdued, tastefully understated. Silvester: PARTIES, FOOD, DRINK, CHURCH BELLS, SO MANY FIREWORKS THAT WE HAVE TO MAKE A LAW BECAUSE IT'S CAUSING TOO MUCH TRASH FROM FIREWORK DEBRIS!!! And if that's the case, honestly? Kind of charming - if you have to choose one holiday to go nuts on, New Year's feels like a lovely choice!

You're pretty much correct, but there's one more holiday I remember where about half of Germany (the catholic half, that is) goes nuts, which is Carnival ("Fasching" in Bavaria, but it's the same thing). There are many places saying that their "Karneval" is the best, but the one I've heard of the most is the one in Cologne.

Technically, Karneval starts on the 11th of November (11 o'clock, 11 minutes and 11 seconds) and ends the day before Ash Wednesday, a time filled with shows, songs and dances and known as "the 5th season", but the festivities (known as Street Carnival) get going on the Thursday before, which is a day beloging to women (called "Weiberfastnacht") where we get to cut off men's ties. My dad, who never wears ties, always makes it a point to wear the most garish ones he owns on that day, just so he has an excuse to get rid of them. My old math teacher (may he rest in peace) did the same thing to our delight. But it's on Monday ("Rosenmontag", rose monday) where people really get started with the disguises, the themed wagons, the shouts (the traditional Carnival shout in the region around Cologne is "Alaaf", but there's also "Helau", which is used in all of Germany), and the candy, which gets thrown from the wagons and is known as "Kamelle".

Christmas isn't that bad either with the christmas market getting started late November (the first advent) and lasting until two to three days before christmas, but it's less huge party and more enjoying mulled wine, Bratwürste and baked goods with friends and family outside. It is such a huge source of revenue for the people working there though that last year (when the market couldn't happen) there had been a real crisis for them. My city, for example, allowed some of them to already set up shop in August once the social distancing rules were less strict so they had a way to make up for lost money and would be able to return properly this November.

The one relatively subdued Silvester tradition is watching this, though. The year can't end without it.

Karneval

Genre: Fantasy

Status: Season 1 (dying for season 2)

Nai 🐇,the protagonist of the story, lost his only friend Karoku💎. One day the were in a field of grass laying down, soon after Nai fell asleep. As soon as Nai 🐇woke up he noticed Karoku💎 was gone...Nai 🐇walked around and stopped at the beach. There was a bracelet by the shore surrounded by blood. Nai was a naive one, he took the bracelet and wore it in hopes he gets to find Kaoku to give it back to him.

💤Nai woke up from the dream, he found himself on a HUGE bed in a HUGE room. There were sounds coming from the ceiling. And hold and behold a thief broke into the unknown building. As soon as the thief saw the little twig Nai he ignored him and proceed to his plan, but before he does...A huge monster came in through the door. Nai and the thief looked at each other shocked. Nai asked he thief the take him with them. They both ran and ran...fast forward to more running and the unknown placed crumbling to pieces cause of the bomb the thief planted...The thief went and left Nai but Nai as cute as a bunny 🐰 followed his savior. The strange boy told him his name, Gareki😍😍😍

The two end up on a train going far away from the crime scene as possible, little did the know the train was also planted with bombs too...POOF🤡 a Man wearing a tophat abd fancy clothes showed up, beating the life out of the bad guys in the train, but ends up giving the two a hard blow-, soon after the realized they were on the same team, saving the train and their lives. Gareki who good with guns and bombs defuse the bomb but doesn't know where the bombs are...BUT Nai has a VERY good sense of hearing and helped Gareki find the bombs. But how are the two get the bombs out the floor? Not to worry The mysterious tophat man has magic✨ then they saved the train and hostages UwU

And the rest is history 👁️👄👁️ too lazy to dive in deeper OwO
