So, I finally decided to do this - their backgrounds. Their stories are down below the "cut".

(Left to right):

Valennore aka Val (Slayer) - After leaving Sushire, Valennore made a promise to herself - to never look back. The life she left was one full of pain and sorrow; a father who hated her for just being a "daughter" and not a son, and, tragically, a mother who was long gone. For a while, Val travelled around Arkesia trying to find her place once again, many people she had meet but none stayed for long - perhaps, due to her fierce temperament or because of something else? Nonetheless, Val never stayed in one place for too long, probably for the best. However, the waves of fate would take her to a forgotten land, where she would find her place once more among her new friends - Adrand, Rosalah and Vesanya. Birthday: 30/03. Love Interest: Thar (or at least trying).

Adrand (the "d" is silent) (Sharpshooter) - All Adrand wanted to do, when he was younger, was follow his fathers footsteps who was an Arthetine specialist. However, one day is father never returned home, leaving Adrand orphan. Soon, in order to survive, Adrand began a life of "petty crimes" and going around with the wrong "crowds". A certain day, however, Adran's life changed for the worse - a traumatic day, which Adrand would never speak again or mentioned for he only wanted to forget it, if he could. Ever since Adrand rarely trusted anyone or spoke to anyone, yet upon meeting Valennore, Rosalah and Vesanya he, certaintly, began to return to his former self - slowly but surely. Now, as one of the heroes trying to save Arkesia, Adrand can not shake the feeling as if someone is always watching him. Unbeknown to him a certain demon as taking interest in him; one whose power is growing more and more. Birthday: 09/12. Love Interest: "Ex"-Crush - Armen, more recent - Levi and, probably, Thirain, Kadan and Kaldor. (Complicated honestly, this man has many crushes and probably more to come. Also, he is a baby so he needs alots of love)

Rosalah aka Rosa (Deathblade) - The moment Rosalah was born, her fate was already sealed. Not only because she is a delain but, also, because of her parents relationship; she was the "product" of a night that should have never occurred. Her mother a mere citizen of Feiton, who had the disgrace of meeting Father Anthon, a priest from Sacria; a "leech" among its ranks. Cruel and greedy, always wanting more power. For most of her life, Rosa never meet her father and for a good reason and, honestly, she did not want to. Until, he, finally, decided to hunt her down. After her mother insisting constatly for her to leave, Rosa, in the end, accepted her mothers wishes and left Feiton. She knew her mother was hiding something from her and she could see her mother was, truly, desperate. She could not even say her goodbyes properly, the only thing she could do was to leave a note for those who she cared the most - specially her siblings, Zaika, Levi and Kaldor. However, in the end, her father always got what he wanted; even if he had to pretend to be her mother and siblings, so he could lore her again back to Feiton. Until that day happens, Rosalah is happy to be around Adrand, Valennore and Vesanya. Even just for a little bit. Birthday: 20/10. Love Interest: Zaika (yeah...anyway, his voice is just *chefs kisses* and when this girl falls in love, she falls hard).

Vesanya aka Nari (her true name) (Glaivier) - Ever since she could remember, Vesanya had always been alone. She grew up in Anikka streets trying to survive, she would pick fight with anyone, who remotely tried to come too close to her even if it was someone way larger than her. And one day, it proved to be almost fatal - if it wasn't for a caring man, who treated her wounds; if he didn't Vesanya would have died that day. Soon, that man became her master. He trained her to be what she is today and helped her guiding her rage into her fighting-style. It was during one of her trainings that Vesanya meet Wei; a mysterious individual, whom she falls in love almost instantly. In the beginning, Wei ignored her for the most part but Vesanya was (and still is) very persistent. Wei began to pay more attention to her but maintained a certain distance, which Vesanya was quick to realise that he, perhaps, did not want her company and soon she began to visit him less and less, until, one day, it stopped entirely. Wei went to ask her master and he, simply, answered: "She left." Birthday: 22/11. Love Interest: Wei.

When I play it these days (which is admittedly not very often), I play my Sharpshooter, Dmitriy. He has poor posture, but he does get to wear pants. It's mostly the bird that does the work though, let's be honest here.

To add to this conversation, that’s why Silco’s so strong, the type of power he holds ultimately reflects the type of power most prevalent in Piltover. Though, I’d always thought that’s why he fails, because he’s trying to emulate Piltover TOO much. Zaun under his reign, although we see a vast economic improvement as well as infrastructure improvement, still maintains the same amount of disparity — as we hear from Vi the sump (the equivalent of Zaun’s slums) had increased in size under Silco.

Silco, in trying to emulate Piltover, unwittingly ends up committing the same type of crimes they have.

[to ver of topic for a moment, feel like this is where Viktor’s ark is gonna go in season 2 — he’s gonna get lost in the sauce & any underlying jealousy/envy he had towards Jayce is going to reveal itself through him emulating Jayce’s worst traits, namely hubris, as he becomes The Machine Herald.]

But after reading your post I think it’s more where this power is aimed that’s the problem. It’s feels very chaotic & round about — like ok flood the lanes with an addictive & dangerous drug to make Piltover to scared to venture down to protect your people from Piltover… but wait, then if Piltover leaves who becomes the victims of this highly dangerous substance that you’ve only put in the lanes? Like ya it’s doing what you wanted it to do but with consequences ya don’t want.

I feel this ^ reflects in Jinx’s ark & her ability to “aim” as a sharpshooter, but also as someone very proficient in explosions, a volatile weapon by nature, the first of which she manages to make work as she wanted having very unwanted consequences.

Ultimately the ‘power’ Vi & Silco wield is much more similar to each other than to the type of power Jinx wields. Jinx takes something seemingly unpredictable & uncontrollable & controls it, while Vi & Silco have these seemingly very controllable things — a drug with healing properties that was invented in a lab, a controlled environment — & boxing, a martial art that takes a lot of discipline & training to become proficient at, that Vi trained in because she wanted to protect people — both thrown into & uncontrollably environments & ultimately used them them for the opposite reasons of their conceptions.

The difference between:

controlled destruction & destructive control.

There is a theory that the way children play serves as a means to simulate and prepare them for the tasks they'll take on as adults. So for all the narrative weight both Jinx and the story give the boxing machine at the arcade it would never have prepared her or the kids to take on Piltover.

What are the two things that Piltovans excel at over their Zaunite counterparts to keep the hierarchy? Weapons and technological development.

When you look at the way Piltovans invest in their children, they don't prioritize hand to hand/melee combat training. Piltovans focus on giving their children experiences in handling firearms, a pursuit that is both leisure sport for the wealthy and a key offense against dissenting Zaunites.

And from the show notes even Jayce, whose family occupies the upper middle class, was sent on educational excursions across Runeterra to explore the world and learn what it had to offer. Without Jayce's education abroad he would never have been inspired to pursue the concept hextech.

It's no wonder that the two figures that are set to be Piltover's biggest threats from Zaun are Jinx and Viktor, becasue they engaged in the same kinds of games and activities as their Piltovan counterparts.

Jinx didn't have an entire forest to preserved to help her practice her sharpshooting like the high houses of Piltover, but she did excel in the few games at The Rift (the arcade) that built on her talents. She's the only Zaunite thus far who's long distance offensive is a strong counter to Piltover's forces.

Viktor couldn't travel the world like Jayce did, but for better or worse he managed to stumble into an opportunity to get real opportunity in research not offered to his peers through Singed. It was through that experience that Viktor knew to turn to Singed when he was at the end of his rope, and the consequences of that will be fully realized in season 2.

Ironically, the kind of skill the boxing game champions is only good for keeping other Zaunites in line. Vander's days of fighting Piltover were way behind him when we first met him, and Vi spends season 1 primarily fighting other Zaunites. It's no surprise the Zaunites who embody the old ideal of strength in Zaun that the game portrays, Vi and Vander, are largely at the mercy of Piltover and end up collaborating with them to avoid further harm.

Zaun's future as an independent city-state couldn't happen if they stuck to their old ideals. The people who stand a chance against Piltover are the ones that not only succeed but excel at playing Piltover's games against them.

Backstory!

Red was born in Totrich to two parents who expected him to enlist as soon as he was able. It's not uncommon for many parents to wish for their children to either go into the Cykin military or become a technologist. His little sister Arizona was born shortly after him, and the both of them would get up to all sorts of trouble much to the chagrin of their parents. Because they were so close in age, Red never felt like he needed to 'be a big brother' for Arizona, so he failed to develop the older sibling instincts as a whole.

As he got older, he wanted to become stronger. His father took this decision as Red wanting to join the military, although Red himself has never been clear on why he wanted to do this (probably because he's dumb and thought that being strong equals being cooler, don't look too far into it, he's a bit slow). However hard he tried, it didn't work and in the end and he essentially gave up. His father wouldn't allow this and instead gave him shooting lessons in the hopes that his son would land some sort of sharpshooter ranking. Red was vehemently against the idea of entering the military, but he still took his father's lessons to heart. If it isn't obvious already, Red never really got along with his dad, his mom on the other hand tried her best not to let him see her disappointment. For this, he would always share more with her than with his father. It was easy for Arizona to see the animosity between them, and being the youngest, would never bring it up in fear of getting yelled at.

When he became an adult, Red would take jobs here and there, all the while rubbing in his dad's face that he wasn't enlisting. He picked up a lot of skills during this time and soon found himself writing a letter to his parents that he's leaving home. He told Arizona that he was leaving and although she was upset with him for running away, she knew he had to. Red left in the middle of the night and after a tearful goodbye with his lil sister, he hopped on the first boat out of the harbor.

Prompt #16 ~ Arcade

A cataloging book of aves was given closure from the Crow's Nest. The dweller resident who occupied it held a huge fascination as if everything was richly new in experience. But the hobby didn't entirely prevent her from losing motivation. She had felt unaccomplished in her abilities with things out of her depths from being countered hardly by a formidable enemy who froze her only means of weaponry in her rifle preventing the shot along with suffering a gashing wound she kept the souvenir scar to thrive better. Furthermore the Captain had forfeited and sacrificed his arsenal of relics acquired over many painstaking years. To her perspective, it seemed she had made him lose more than gain. Everything she felt was about to be purified. The feline Captain had strong senses, and it aided in not only getting a prediction on the weather shifts, but also utilizing his numerous experience, there was a feeling aboard of morale being startled. As he took claim of the dawn, by loudly making his presence known, he clung to the ladder and gave ascent, he knocked to hatch since she had made the nest her quarters, "Oi' Shelah, c'mon we're going training." She had taped already hand's appendages from trying to learn the art of melee. It saddened her that little progression was made in improving. It gave ark memento, to how she was upon her islander days, always being the runt alongside far behind her fellow sisterhood. "What's the point? Quartermaster and First Crewmate already tried." Regardless she exhaled and opened up for him to scale the remainder. "Aye, I do hear. Although my methods may garner favor." Her personality type and foreign bringing made her a stranger to badgering. Which didn't always show results depending on the person teaching and tutoring.

Captain flashed a cheek and infectious grin. "Put that aim t' me this evening', I assure ye it'll be fun. I'll wait fer a decision below." He'd give her opportunity and room to choose. He hadn't done anything despite her island and beliefs against what she was fated and forewarned as an omen of ill. She contemplated before following pursuit. His lead brought her before clanking and rotating automatic machines, bright over abundance lights, ringing sounds of gil. Noises that shouted 'winner', overall a bustling and booming populated place unlike anything accustomed. "This is th' Gold Saucer, if ye think I'm a cheat or swindler, this place encapsulates it. Sometimes t' learn and progress, you have to make memories, and those that are fun, impact us more personally. Now we're going to play a mini-games, with this MGP wallet I borrowed from a fancy high-roller." Taking in leading her by arm as she didn't know initially how to consume all this scenery. "This is a Cuff-A-Cur machine, objective is to swing hard." She saw another demonstration before he activated for her to give a whirl, she gave a weak performance as the machine mocked her fist and punch and barely moved. "Though most like t' punch ole' Giga' lad. Striking force is what matters, although ye may struggle punching. Doesn't mean you can't kick th' difference either. N' combat, sometimes it matters using all we are or can be surrounded with in survival." She focused her long Duskwight leg's did provide range and advantage. Glancing at him briefly, doing a demo round kick. He transformed not only basic games of normality of arcade into actual serious regimen. Then she scored a much higher rating. It's compliment gave her a breathe of undefinable air. The Seeker sparked up ecstatically. He would navigate her across to the Moogle's Paw teaching her coordination and also as it tried scamming them from attaining their prize despite having it as the crane unhooked and it wedged between the exit barely clinging on. She was recommended and used to cover him while he shook the machine and wouldn't be weaseled out for the acclaim. The games all but continued even into Monster's Toss where they competed with another and overall defeated him in every round. It played to her strengths as a sharpshooter. These enactments were boisterously redefining her morale and even confidence, which although felt hindered and dampened, Captain saw to rectify. As energy was nearly sapped, "Well, I lost all th' MGP and overall my credit. Ye b' a mighty pirate... Listen, just cause we may lose some-days, or fall short, doesn't mean we can't seize th' next wave. This goes for everything n' one-day, we'll even go hunt ourselves some assassins, and prevail over that. We're on a path to grow together and use our coverage fer each other, weaknesses aren't nearly as troublesome. Much you've proven t' this started day, you b' more than enough." His nonchalant and vow as she was carrying a handful of stuffies and assortment of prizes clung to her waist. A massive amount beyond all his simple recognition. This was her first memory of treasure.

1. The reason you why started playing Lost Ark?

I was waiting for Blue Protocol (still waiting for it) and had no major mmo to play so I tried Lost Ark out. never thought it would suck me in so bad tbh

2. Favorite class?

At the moment, Esoteric Flurry Striker/Casting Reflux Sorceress

Most likely would fall in love with Arcana when it comes out in July (literally saving all my mats now in preparation for it, tbh I think I’ll even switch mains for it)

3. Prettiest skin in your opinion?

Going by what we have currently, the Dawn skin for scrapper 👀 holy crap its so good it almost made me make a scrapper (but then I learnt it was undyable and was like nvm, its still gorgeous though)

4. Favorite skin?

The Banquet skins for men, all 3 versions of them 😭 I love them so much and was about to buy a third one for my pally and a fourth one for my future scouter but the crystal prices......

5. Favorite region?

Rohendel, hands down no questions asked. Vern is a very close second (totally not because of Thar/Lahart being there)

Rohendel main story quests are sooooo looooong but damn I love how pretty it looks and the aesthetic

If island, I actually love Shangra. Would've taken a lot of screenshots there if I wasn't busy farming for dews and peaches all the time 😂

I haven't played all the available classes (played sorc, bard, pally, gunlance, striker and sharpshooter) but among those 6 I played, sorceress apocalypse call makes me feel like a badass, who doesn't love summoning a meteor shower?? (too bad Enviska’s Might is better for general content)

7. Prefer melee or range?

Honestly I love both but at the moment, ranged because ping 😂 easier to dodge mechanics and still deal damage

8. Prefer burst dps or continuous dps? (not sure if they're asking this because of Google translate tbh but I'll pretend they're asking this for now)

Continuous dps, more reliable and don't have to worry about missing the dps window

Thar/Lahart ❤️ I'm a Thar/Lahart simp so of course he would be my favorite 😂

Got Lost Ark. Couldn't make him a sorcerer or bard cause stupid gender locked class for girls only so did I make Douxie as a gunner/sharpshooter class? Yes I did.

I have never seen a character creation let me get that close to what Douxie looks like. The hair is making me so happy I never find hair that looks like his that well. There were other tattoo options I debated but the black goth look was my fav.

So, a while ago, I posted my version of Saturn Girl from the Legion of Superheroes in DC Comics, and I’ll get back to my headcanon version of more LoSH members eventually, I promise. But, in my never ending quest to establish my own headcanon of established characters (because it might be a little cringe, but I enjoy it), I also have my canon version of Transformers. Basically, I think of these headcanons as ways I’d write or adapt these characters, especially if given the opportunity to make an animated series or comic book. Not gonna happen, obviously, but it’s fun to pretend! If anybody wants to learn more about my ideas for a Transformers series, I’ll happily share it! In the meantime, I was inspired to do this artwork, making this my first finished Transformer!

So, who is my version of Moonracer? A lot of my version takes from the original version, as well as the IDW version of the character. In my view, Moonracer is one of the original team of Transformers that ends up stranded on Earth. Originally from the colony planet of Velocitron, Moonracer was well-known for her speed and accuracy in racing, as well as an excitable and active personality. With her Cybertronian hovercar mode, she reached some minor fame on the planet. When the Great Civil War reached Velocitron, Moonracer quickly chose the side of the Autobots, believing in the ideals of unity promoted by their leader, Optimus Prime. Picked up by his small team on Velocitron, she helped them escape the colony planet under the nose of a group of Decepticons, led by the newly indoctrinated Velocitronian Knock Out. Accompanying them on their travels to a mysterious planet called Earth, Moonracer played her part until the Autobot ship (The Ark) crashed on the planet, breaking into pieces of re-entry. After a long period of hibernation underground, Moonracer woke up alongside leader Optimus Prime, scout Bumblebee, artillery master Ironhide, and medic Ratchet (who is female in my headcanon). As a part of this group, Moonracer would enter the fray against the awakening Decepticons (who had also crashed), and find the rest of the lost Autobots to prepare for the coming and building conflict.

Moonracer, as a fairly young bot, is an enthusiastic soldier, and is prone to act before thinking first, rushing headlong into action. On Earth, she takes up a Koenisegg Agera alternate mode, as this allows her to use her normal fast speeds without too much suspicion. While she’s a very outgoing and extroverted bot, that doesn’t make her any less serious about the Autobot cause than her compatriots. When focused on her task, she’s the best sharpshooter in the galaxy. When she’s focused, anyway. A valuable asset to the Autobot cause, she has earned the respect of her compatriots, as well as that of her primary Decepticon rival, Knock Out. But, surrounded by bots and people not of her colony’s culture, her mind often drifts happily towards home, and towards old friends on the racing planet, like best friend Override. However, her old friends have been through quite a lot while she’s been in stasis on Earth. One day, she’ll hopefully get back there.

OK, that’s the basis for my version of Moonracer! If anybody’s interested in my other ideas for Transformers, let me know! And who knows; maybe I’ll share them here after all! And, uh, forgive the amateur artwork here; still new at drawing Cybertronians, but I’ll be getting some more practice!

So having watched the first season of Transformers Cyberverse, I’ve got some thoughts to express. Overall I thought it was boring and a bit uninspired in places, but I generally think that’s more on me as a veteran fan. The first season aims to tell the abridged origin of the Great War, which seems loosely based on the Aligned and IDW origins: the Decepticons came to power to overthrow a oppressive government. As such it doesn’t do much new, so it’s nothing I, or other veterans, haven’t heard before, but as an entry point for new fans, I think it serves its purpose to give them the general gist of things. Interwoven with the backstory is Bumblebee and Windblade’s exploits on Earth, as they dodge enemy Seekers, fix Bee’s memories (which is where the flashbacks come from), and locate The Ark to reunite with the other Autobots. Like the Bumblebee movie, the titular Autobot has lost his memories, and fumbles his way around in a child like manner, needing Windblade’s Cityspeaker skills to refresh his memory so he can tell her where the Ark is. This part of the story is a little better, as it offers more original material, with additional flashbacks as to how Bee and Windy met. Their friendship is rather touching, if mildly cliche from a teenage romcom scenario. Back on Cybertron, Bee was a charming dork while Windblade was the new girl in town (like in IDW, she’s from Caminus), and feel in with the popular clique: Starscream’s jets. Charmed by Bumblebee’s antics and disgusted by Starscream’s cruelty, Windy decides to hang with Bee and a friendship is born. The sparse prewar segments are generally the best parts, showing a simplified glimpse at what Cybertron was like. There’s a hint of mild Shapeism, in that the jet Transformers think they’re the cream of the crop, and look down on ground vehicles. Similarly, cars don’t have a high opinion of the smarmy jets either. Nevertheless, everyone seems to generally get along just fine at MacCadam’s Old Oil House, with Soundwave and other Seekers providing musical entertainment. MacCadam’s is probably the best episode of the first season, which shows the subtle collapse of Cybertronian society though small timeskips. Cities are reduced to rubble, tensions are high, but the Oil House stood firm for the longest time, helped by MacCadam’s strict no fighting policy. When Megatron intends to rip the place apart looking for Deadlock, owner Mac transforms into an unseen form to frighten the tyrant off, and lets the future Drift stay for as long as he likes. Also a new Cybertronian sport, Cube, is shown, which seems to be Quidditch mixed with football. It’s honestly not that interesting, but Bumblebee was such a big fan of the sport, he tries to sneak into the stadium to see it, ultimately interfering in a game (though at this point he was trying to stop a bored Starscream from ruining the game). Worth nothing Cyberverse’s sister series, Rescue Bots Academy, also includes Cube and it’s other biggest fan Hot Shot. The present day stories though do have their flaws. There’s really no point for the Autobots to be on Earth, as it feels obligatory more so than anything else because that’s what previous stories did. The Robots in Disguise factor seems largely abandoned as nobody bothers to scan Earth modes, and freely run around in their space forms. Grimlock seems to be the only one who scanned an Earth form however, though this wasn’t made immediately clear in flashbacks since he still had saurian like kibble. (Hindsight suggests he probably turned into a vaguely saurian tank however). Really, outside of Grimlock’s brief backstory and Shockwave’s plan to raze Earth in order to kill the Autobots and collect the Allspark, the Transformers could’ve been running around Pluto or Mars instead. Nobody interacts with or befriends humans, so there’s not much of a drive to defend Earth beyond it’s the right thing to do. And also the Ark, but still. Character work is probably the worst aspect of the show unfortunately. Outside of Grimlock, MacCadam and Teletraan X, nobody really has any interesting personality or quirks. Bee is transplanted from his Movie and Prime incarnation, while Windy seems mostly defined by her sisterly relationship with Bee. As such she doesn’t really work on her own, as she lacks any of the traits possessed by her earlier counterparts. At best I can say she’s loyal and a good fighter, but without someone to bounce off of, she’s uninteresting. Bee doesn’t have anything new going for him either. He still speaks with his radio and is the little buddy, but that’s about it. Oh, the Allspark apparently reacted to him on Cybertron, implying a greater destiny, but nothing else is said about this for the time being. The only other major presence are Slipstream’s Seekers, but they might as well have been Vehicons, as there’s little to no character development for any of them. They’re all little more than dumb thugs. At most, Slipstream wants to look good in front of high command, but this isn’t explored much. Really the only interesting Seeker is Acid Storm, who due to animation errors and, perhaps a lack of communication between the show runners and Hasbro, is said to be gender fluid to cover up the error. It’s actually a fun idea that could be fleshed out more, among other things, on how other Decepticons view it (Slip is fine with it, but Shockwave sees no combat value in it), but I fear they’ll not be allowed to do so. The other legacy Autobots and Decepticons seen have nothing new to offer, and are who they’ve been in the original G1 cartoon. Grimlock is an exception as he has a split personality, being prim and proper in robot mode, but his classic caveman brute in beast mode. In an example of telling, not showing, Grimlock was revealed to have reigned on Earth during the dinosaur age, allegedly creating an advanced dinosaur society. It’s another cool idea, but as we’re not really shown how this worked, it feels half baked at best. Many wish we would’ve gotten a spotlight episode of Grim and his dinosaur friends instead, but who knows, maybe a possible IDW Cyberverse comic might dip into that more. Because of the show’s 10 minute time frame, a lot of more emotional and impactful scenes are stunted pretty badly, most notably a flashback detailing a heroic sacrifice by Blurr, but it’s clear the writers are doing their best with what they’ve got to work with. Similarly new Decepticon Shadow Striker also gets the shaft in development. Characteriszed as a shortfused, competitive girl, Shadow was at one point the Decepticons’ top bounty hunter and sharpshooter, but an accident following the capture of Optimus left her severely crippled. Now having a mishmash body cobbled together by Shockwave, she’s no longer able to do a lot of what she was able to, and is driven by an insane fury to get revenge on Bumblebee, who played an admittedly minor role in her accident. They’re supposed to be arch enemies, but their limited interactions feel very forced. If anything she had more chemistry with fellow impulsive wreckloose Hot Rod. It does feel like there might be set up for her to switch sides, as Bee has been shown to cut her some slack that she partially acknowledges, but I might be looking too hard into it. Overall, Cyberverse repackages what came before it, but does very little new to innovate. The season finale ends with the Decepticon Battle Fleet zeroing in on Earth to wipe out the restored Autobots. This at least suggests a straight forward 80’s style clash between Bots and Cons next season. I’m hoping the second season has some better stories, but talk of killing off a lot of the characters (a jokey comment in particular says Optimus dies immediately in the second season, with another implying Bumblebee becomes Goldbug), makes me a bit skeptical of the show’s story going forward. I’m still gonna check it out though, and if the Goldbug thing is true, I wouldn’t mind seeing that side of Bee again.
