click - he listened to it in the war, it calmed the others nerves. he doesn't like or dislike it, but vertin has noticed he is calmer and stays in one place more when it's playing

villa & windosng - specifics the old russian ones, tho windsong also like newer stuff. it reminds both of them of home

druvis - also reminds her of home

lucy - she finds she like analyzing the instruments in it

lilya - also likes older russian songs, but actually prefers newer stuff with a slow tempo, unless she's flying

rabies - he likes really old songs

tooth fairy - she finds it calms her and the kids she treats

necrologist - also likes old songs, thinks about how they are not among the living anymore

sweetheart - idk monroe sung jazz sometimes i think it just fits her

apple - likes the ones with slow tempos

mesmer jr - finds it calms her, but also sometimes reminds her of the past

eternity - she's lived a long time, so she enjoys listening to music that reminds her of that time

ms newbabel - has alsways listened to it, feels strange to her to listen to anything else

tennant - thinks it adds to her charm, plus she likes instrumental jazz

lorelei - just seems like the type of guy to like it

bunny bunny - it would play sometimes near the ending shifts when she worked, and it strikes memories

ms moissan - enjoys german jazz, and try's to get sotheby to listen to it but she only likes a couple songs

vertin try's not to listen to jazz bc it reminds her of schneider and how vertin couldn't save her. she gets particularly melancholy about it when she sees click with glazed over eyes and a slight smile in the hall when he hears ms radio playing jazz as background noise at the suitcases dinner time.

The Elegant and Most Olde House of Hartridge

tl;dr —> what it says on the tin lol. also not sure if i mention in other posts, but this reality is an omegaverse reality as well!

A Brief History

Following a series of tragedies, enemy hostility, and lack of suitable living space, the First Lord and Lady of Hartridge, along with the rest of their main branch family, emigrated from their ancestral home in a small country within Africa, per Mother Magic’s blessing, and settled in Britain in the early 400s.

They settled and integrated into the small magical community, thriving as they created the first Unplottable wards and magical communities as anti-magic sentiment started to brew amongst the Muggle population. These regions are known as Mullabyaly Highlands, Cobalt Bay, and Silver Oak Valley.

As a result, they were Attributed by Mother Magic and gained the title of Elegant and Moste Olde House after pouring their blood & magic into the Hartridge Ancestral Ward stones. Mother Magic also gifted the House and its’ generations Artistic-related Gifts.

Following the series of witch-hunts and discrimination against wix folk in the mid-1000s, they helped the other Oligarchy Houses, Merlin, Morgana, and Arthur establish Avalon and Hogwarts after Mother Magic Created it.

House Hartridge had also built the first higher educational institution for adult wix around this time, named Nafina Institute of Magick, and it is an internationally well-respected and renowned University.

Members of the Hartridge House are mostly renowned throughout history for being the first Wix to develop sociocultural norms pre-, during, and post-Avalon. After they were Attributed and Gifted by Mother Magic, they were also internationally renowned and respected for their Artistic Gifts—such as music, literature, theatre, dance/ballet, and other things under the arts.

in 1317, the third daughter of a secondary branch of the family (High Lady Nerissa Hartridge, daughter of Marchionesses Maia Hartridge & Delphina Hartridge née Malfoy) opened up the Rose Opera House and employed the novel group of dancers, opera singers, and so on of the First Company Troupe. It was an exclusive opera house for the elite of Avalon, though as of the 1800s (specifically, 1811), highly regarded Muggle-borns and New Bloods were allowed to enter/be invited to the premises. Guests are only invited to shows via the Board or members of the First Company Troupe (e.g., dancers, singers, and so on who are contracted with the Rose Opera House). Tickets only go on sale during the first week of spring the year before the shows, and are ostensibly expensive.

Other Opera Houses owned by House Hartridge include Nightingale Hall, Golden Cinema, and Emerald Amphitheatre. However, Nightingale Hall has turned into a center for social/season events as of 1878.

As for other craft-wise, maidens and wix from Hartridge are renowned for their lace crafting and spinning arts.

It is commonplace and traditional in House Hartridge for courtship offers to be lace spun and entwined with the maidens’ magic.

In 1205, High Omega Mira Hartridge (fourth daughter of Marigold Hartridge née Potter & Erasmus Hartridge) crafted the first *Felmio Flute,* a crafted masterpiece that sounds like the beauty of still waters and the sea. She had then further improved and introduced a variety of magical instruments along with instrumental songs meant to invoke emotion, all entwined with magic.

Another member in the 900s, High Wix Haven Hartridge (child of Archduchess Coventina Hartridge & Archduke Perseus Hartridge née Peverell) developed moving paintings and portraits, the first magical camera, and other items deemed socially and culturally progressive during that era.

All Purebloods and New Bloods, and Muggle-borns, look to members of House Hartridge in matters of etiquette and culture. A member of a branch house, High Lady Nahla (second daughter of Serena Hartridge & Valentine Hartridge née Hufflepuff) published the original Camelot Pamphlet in 908, instead of Lady Claire (a Lady of House Selwyn, who added more addendums in the 1200s), which addressed and dictated those sociocultural norms and expectations of the etiquette of every wixen station in Avalon.

As for their secret motto of *Never Forgive & Never Forget,* the House of Hartridge are fierce and feared when slighted. They have rarely, if ever, ended a Blood Fued, officially or otherwise, save for when House Yaxley became a Vassal House of theirs.

Due to the Family Motto of Unity Brings Strength, the House is always presented as a united front on all matters in the public sphere, regardless of their personal opinion on the matter.

ANOTHER secret motto is *Be as Powerful & Deadly Like An Ocean Vexed.*

For the most part, the House tends to be a close-knit (though still healthy and loving) family unit as most, if not all, members take unity and family seriously.

Colloquially, the House of Hartridge is regarded as the Hearth of Avalon.

In terms of political matters, the House of Hartridge is strictly Neutral. Most family members tend to have Neutral or Dark Magical Cores, due to having Syren blood in their ancestry, but there are some members with Light Magical Cores here and there. As for Hogwarts Houses, most members tend to be Sorted into any House, but mostly Ravenclaw, with some exceptions here and there.

Regarding Estate Matters, the House of Hartridge has the largest Acromantula silk and ( only) Melmu silk* production within Mullabyaly Highlands, specifically in the Ethereal Depths.

*Melmu silk is a strictly Family Only Secret via their Syren ancestors (willingly given Syren hair from a pureblood Syren maiden, woven under a clear full moon). House Hartridge is the only family to have rights to Melmu silk, in/out of Avalon and Magical Europe.

The Sapphire Grotto speaks to the Mer and Syren colonies, as well as the ethical production of pearls and pearl-related jewelry.

The Sleeping Rivers is a nature preserve for nymphs, naiad, and other water-related Creatures, but there are some who do live within the Grotto. It had been created by Mother Magic during Avalon.

My partner has hated Max since his first appearance, disliking how pushy he is with Lorelei and how he is pursuing a relationship with his newest student's Mom. It was really interesting to hear, since I have always had a soft spot for Max, and I think his appeal lies in that he is an intellectual guy with enough confidence and insistence to avoid falling into the unattractive nerd troupe. (Which shouldn't exist, but definitely does, just look at Brian.) I think the pushyness or aggressiveness my partner was picking up on was created to make him more sexy to a 2000 audience, which doesn't land to a 2020 audience. I have noticed liking Max less and less the more I rewatch the series too. Lorelei is clearly soooo hesitant to start anything with him, and moreso seems flattered by the attention and gets convinced into dating him. This continues throughout their relationship, shown by the proposal and the breakup.

Their job is thankless, dirty, back breaking. They get paid so little for so much hard work. They're treated like low class citizens, even though no hotel can operate without them. It's absolutely criminal, when a maid's monthly wage is that of a luxury suite's nightly rate.

And more often than not, people don't even think about the maids' existence, much less giving them tips. Their work is so important and necessary, yet they're invisible most of the time.

She doesn't play around like some people and would have ensured her family's safety, and most importantly, she would have ensured they had some tie to the Iron Throne. Literati endgame?

okay but i really didn't get why everyone hated the gilmore girls ending because for me it seems like a Jess and Rory endgame is actually quite possible (and likely).

Okay, so we know only that she's with Logan's baby.

But (sorry team Logan) it seems kinda clear that she's not gonna end up with him. First of all, I think her being lost and suddenly becoming pregnant on accident is an obvious parallel to Lorelei, so it makes sense to me she's gonna be a single mother for a while. Even more so, because Logan and Christopher are soo much alike. (yes Logan is much older and more mature then Christopher was at 16 but Chris was a shitty dad way longer).

And if you were able to look past Logans red flags in gilmore girls (sleeping with like 4 different people right after allegedly breaking up, looking down on people with less money, being a dick towards Jess for no reason) after AYITL I don't think anyone can deny that he's just not a great guy who cheats on his fiance with no remorse whatsoever. So yeah, I actually dont know if he would want to be in the kids and rorys life, but I just dont think it would work out either way.

So now to Jess.

Yes, you can have a different interpretation, but to me he just looked at Rory not only lovingly but with so much longing and even pain in his eyes that its obvious hes not over her and still in love.

Hes appeared when Rory was lost before, when she drOpped out if yAle and later, when she was without job or underwear. Jess had the idea with the book as well, so he kind of guided her towards a new path, I cant imagene him not taking part in the process of her book writing. She was so exited to show him the first three chapters, I think she would want to include him later as well, or maybe ask him for advice as a writer (maybe he'd be the publisher?).

So I definitely belive it's realistic for him to still be in her life, and maybe support her with her kid in some ways (like Luke?)

And now to Rory.

I do think it was right for her to move on after he left, but it always felt so incomplete to me, I was so sure they'd get back together a second time, sometime after him telling her he loves her. I truly believe they are soulmates, in the way that they understand each other better than anyone else, like the same things, have so much in common. Hes was very troubled and disturbed when they were dating, but he was the only boyfriend who really worked on himself (Logans not sleeping around doesnt count) and changed.

And while I am sure she did love Jess, it just doesnt feel right that she never said it back. Yes we got "might have loved you" but idk thats just not enough.

They were dating for such a short time compared to the others, did not even have sex (which could make a relationship appear more serious) yes they had this incredible connection, they still care so much about each other and immediately talk like they used to, even when they havent spoken in years.

So yeah, I think the timing was never right, at first Jess was too troubled, then Rory was in love with Logan, but I really do believe that not only did she always love him, i think a part of her was always IN love with him.

Now, that their lifestyles could sympathize I think she would see that, and no way he'd be like "yeah sorry too late". They needee their time, like Lorelei and Luke, but in the end I see them.

Okay, fleeting idea that I write before I forget it

Scp au where Sun and Moon are some kind of moth monster giant made of some matter beyond this galaxy. They feed on shiny things, but huge shiny things, like stars or the sun itself (The one in space by default)

They were going to devour the sun until they found this curious planet full of life, t.hey are curious and change their shape to one much more suitable for walking on the planet, it doesn't take them long to realize that the earth needs the sun to survive. It's a shame, but they are hungry

They end up being captured by the foundation, of course they could get away but they want to experience this world as much as they can before it perishes. Being in prison is not fun and they get bored quickly, they devour a couple of things that humans give them and although they taste good... They do not satisfy their hunger in the least.

Soon they find this human who is kind, who is fun and they... could put off their meal a little longer.

They delay the date to devour the sun more and more, because although it would satisfy their hunger for a long time it would mean losing their precious human.

Weeks, months pass, and they decide to devour the surrounding stars. They will probably devour the sun once their human perishes of age, but the mere thought distresses them enough to seek alternatives.

It would be a silly story of two monsters that devour large masses essential for other forms of life that learn the value of life beyond their own and learn to look for alternatives instead of go the easiest way. And accept that you won't get everything you're looking for.

Yes, the story ends with Y/N dying of old age. But they holds the hand of two monster beings who watch them with love and pain, because they now know a new kind of hunger when you are gone, and there is no way to satisfy that hunger because you are not here
