Something silly for you guys before I get into the nitty gritty stuff of the AU. I'd like to think that if Loop was a Siffrin from the start, they would get silly with it. After all, Siffrin knows that they're him, so might as well bother the alternate you as much as possible!

Um so. I remembered The Incident while I was hanging out with Odile

This dialogue only appears if you gave back your dagger before asking Loop what the difference is between looping with tears or your dagger.

Loop of course, is against Siffrin hurting themselves. But this is more than that, clearly. They acknowledge that suicide is suicide, no matter if it's with tears and time or blood and stars.

But they're incredibly against the idea that Siffrin might see their body as unimportant and disposable. They say that Siffrin should keep their body intact, because they can't keep their possessions, they can't keep their history, they can't keep anything. The only thing that he owns is his own BODY. The only thing he hasn't lost.

Who saw their own body as unimportant? Who disposed of their own body? Who lost everything, lost their possessions, their memories, their timeline, their family... and also lost their body. Who did that?

I planned on going to bed early as a celebration, but then I looked at my unfinished pf of Siffrin in the sketchbook and boom couple of hours of sketching, lining and coloring and the beans are now officially paper figured

I can now randomly take photos of them in a forest whenever I feel like it. I have couple pfs on me every day just in case of this happening

I'm a broken record about this but after so many years of being left with the Axolotl poem about Bill, it'd be so lame if Bill never did reincarnate, and it'd be just as disappointing if it ended up being something minor like a cicada (although it'd be hilarious if he reincarnated, immediately died and then reincarnated into something else).

And to me, the wording of the original Axolotl poem really does make it seem like the reincarnation itself is the 'redemption' and the deal is that Bill is basically passing responsibility to someone else, after he's done with therapy and like.... doesn't pass down all of his many issues.

(Plus I dunno if it's my understanding of reincarnation that's wrong but it feels that when Bill is like 'yeah let me use the reset button!!!', he's forgetting that its way different from using a continue and he's just gonna end up with the equivalent of a shoddy new game plus made for a wrong character/setting at best)

Meanwhile, we're left with Bill poem about Stan that's the same in execution (a cryptic message between space and time and by that I mean hidden on the internet lol), with the same purpose (an opening/lingering mystery for Alex to use when he wants to return to the series) with the same elements (fire, lies, redemption, home) and numerous comparisons to Bill's own philosophy on lies that's repeated again in the same website.

(Also been thinking about how amnesiac!Stan could sorta be thought of as a reincarnation of himself in terms of mind only. The same soul being hit with that reset gun button, a chance of a new self unburdened by the past, but via the power of love and family they went nope!!! we want you back!!!)

Either way, with the poem and the book's ending there's the obvious Bill+Stan connection that we're supposed to acknowledge!!!

ACT 2 (... they're already making your head hurt.)

First Loop introductory conversation of the AU + a rough visual guide that I put together! Also, the AU is called Two Coins Same Side AU now, and if I regret it later, too bad. It's set in stone.

Everyone always talks about Twohat, but nobody talks about Onehat...Of course it's less narratively satisfying, but I think it's fascinating anyways.

Since Onehat and Twohat are set at the same time, Loop hasn't vanished just yet. They're probably hiding in the tree, watching as all of this happens. They never trusted Siffrin enough to leave their own silver coin for them to take, but Siffrin gave up one of the most sentimental object he owned, one that reminded them of their shared homeland, in a ritual also from their homeland, to give Loop something to remember him by.

When Loop asks you to guess what they are, one of the options is "A ghost?" if you pick that, they say that the Favor Tree is their grave. Siffrin leaving a coin on the roots of the Favor Tree mirrors that. They truly understand each other. What was Loop thinking, watching that?
