Hold it wait. Now that I know you like Dragon Age, I HAVE to know: who's your favorite romance each game?

With the knowledge I've never played ANY of the DLC (which means I STILL haven't seen the REAL ending of Inquisition and boy does that chap my ass):

Origins: Alistair - I'm a basic bitch who loves a dork with Steve Valentine's voice calling me "my love". When I first got the game and looked at my options in the sleeve jacket, I 100% thought I would go for Zevran because Alistair looked boring, but he instantly won me over in his intro by being a sarcastic smartass. I've romanced 3/4 of the options, so I feel informed enough to make this choice.

DA2: Fenris - he's simultaneously a cute bishi, nuanced, interesting, and I buy the chemistry. I also want to punch anyone who's ever hurt him in the balls with iron knuckles on. 🥰 I've romanced 3/4 of the options and I'm 2/3s of the way through the last one. I do recommend people go for Anders on your first play through because after you know the whole story, he's kind of hard to want to romance. Especially cuz if you're NOT going for him, he's constantly judging your other options. The dweeb ass loser.

I've only finished Inquisition start to finish once with Cullen, so calling him my favorite feels disingenuous. It's just...SUCH a long game you guys. I've had false starts going after Sera and Blackwall and right now I'm aiming at an Iron Bull run. One day I will romance Solas so I can see what the whole fuss is about, because right now I just want to give him a wedgie.

I would prefer to write over discord in a server I create, since I can be a bit picky about it. I'm particularly looking for either fandom OR fandomless roleplays. I write lit to advanced lit (novella but only on occasion), and write in third person ONLY. I will not write in first, sorry!

♡ Game of Thrones — CCxCC mostly, too, however same as above. OCs welcome if well developed. I'd like to write a few characters, however I focus heavily on the Starks, particularly Sansa, and Daenerys. I'm willing to write against anyone. (No preference, but romance lean ideally.)

♡ Hazbin Hotel — CCxCC mostly, as I'm not fond of OCs for this. I can write a few characters: Charlie, Alastor, Angel Dust, Lucifer, Adam, Lute, Vaggie, and otherwise. Open to all manner of things here. No preference of who to write against, but I've been in the mood to try these characters out or write them again.

♡ BotW / TotK (Legend of Zelda) — CCxCC, not open to OCs for this. Particularly looking to write Zelda, Sidon, or Ganon against a Link. I can also write Link, but that's just not my preference. Open to other options but these are my priority. Also open to do something poly related between the four, but only with some decent development and plotting.

♡ Dragon Age — OCxCC only. OCxOC could work but I'm very selective here. I'd like to write some of my OCs against some canons, but I'm more than willing to write a canon for you in return. ♡ Fantasy, pirates, magic systems, solarpunk, apocalyptic (zombies or not) themes, dead dove themes, god/sacrifice, mythological creature/human, found family, medieval themes, historical fiction, war, aliens, modern fantasy, and more. (This is generalized, and can be discussed further.)

˚ ༘♡ ·˚ ₊˚ˑ༄ؘ Some things I'd really really love to include consist of — romance, angst, dead dove themes (we can discuss in private what that looks like), whump/caretaker, reunions, and so on. I'm a big fan of drama, and angst. I'll write multiple threads if I really vibe with someone, especially if we share a few fandoms. I generally shift and headcanon canons with their own identities, so please bear that in mind and be open to queer identities. I'd like to add some smut to this, from anywhere to a 50/50 to 80/20 plot to smut ratio, but that can be discussed. Do not bring me subby/bottoms, I will not only write top/doms. Kinks will be discussed privately. (Open to all manners of ships, mxm, mxf, fxf, anyxnb, poly, etc!)

What does your worldstate look like going into DAV?

Oh well, this is gonna be a hard one because I'm undecided on so many things, and technically my canon Inky run is still unfinished but...

Some core choices starting from DAO (and thank you for asking that because it finally pushed me to clarify some things for myself 😆):

- the Warden is a female Amell, still alive and looking for the cure

- romanced Alistair who stayed a warden and got out of the Fade

- Alistair performed the Dark Ritual with Morrigan

- Anora is the sole ruler

- female mage Hawke, so Carver survives, rip Bethany (the things I would do to keep them both!)

- romanced Fenris

- sided with mages

- spared Anders (if I remember correctly 😆)

- Hawke currently chilling in the Fade

- Inky is a female mage Trevelyan

- sided with mages, recruited them (although I really love Champions of the Just and in general I would love a possibility to recruit both and put everything in order 😆)

- romanced Cullen, encouraged him to stop taking lyrium

- I guess technically friends with Solas, not enemies at least 😆

- ally with Wardens

- Celene a sole ruler

- everyone recruited, Bull is a Tal-Vashoth, Cole is more human.

- Morrigan drinks from the well (though, this is still not 100% decided)

- Kieran has the soul of the Old God

- Cassandra is the Divine

- Inquisition disbanded, although this is still not exactly decided as well. My Inky really grows as a politician and a diplomat, so she may use the "chantry bodyguards" facade to keep things going.

I think that's all that's important, I may add something if I remember it. In general I'm a chicken when it comes to Big Choices and I am currently terrified of many mistakes I might have made unknowingly 😆

Honorable, fair, and possibly the stupidest - earnest? Both things are valid for her and can cohabitate lol

Helped Redcliffe prepare, all townspeople are safe, Isolde is alive, Connor is alive and not possessed, and Jowan was sent back to the Circle. The urn of sacred ashes is pristine ✨ a dragon was hurt in the process tho <<

Brokered peace, saved the halla <3 we love our weird goats <3

Will blame himself for handling that quest horribly. He can't understand, literally. He'll bring that experience with him forever

-Act 2:

A classic "my bullshit detector worked, but what the hell is going on anyway?" :'D

Also of course we did the 8 run around the columns << it's a must have in every playthrough!

Sided with mages, heart of gold confirmed.

Also we hate dragons in this game as well u-u

Anders is alive and well, with a hand stamp on his cheek

Recruited Sebastian (unfortunately) - Sided with Larius (again, unfortunately) - I, huh, can't remember anything of Mark of the Assassin because it was unplayable :'D literally. The dialog wasn't working, it glitched every five minutes, and the game started to crash at a rapid pace after the party. Will watch walkthroughs in the future, because I remember having fun <<

Dragon Age: Inquisition

Ankh of clan Lavellan, Rogue Archer, Artificer, slayed all the dragons, romanced Cullen

Prefers a honest approach, when she can. Diplomacy route is her favorite, but when she's dealing with nobles she always talks to Leliana first. The poor Cullen is the last to get attention :'

She denies being chosen by Andraste, Cassandra is veery happy about it /s

Reasons with Leliana about her role in Valence's cloister. Not hardened

Helps Josephine by raising the Du Paraquettes to nobility

Tells Cullen not to use lyrium, but it was more like "what do you want?", "This", "Then I'll help". Anyway, I always disliked how that discussion was handled as an addict myself lol

Leliana is the new Divine

-Companions:

The "friends with Blackwall" happens after a big while after what he did, but I won't say anything else since I have the chapter(s) planned and ready to be delivered lol then I will talk about it freely

-In Hushed Whispers / Champions of the Just

This won't bite her in the ass in the future, noooo, like, totally a great decision :'D

The judgment after that was top tier best BioWare moments, I will cherish that experience forever <3

The utmost horrid choice was between Hawke and Alistair. She preferred to give the Wardens a chance, because she understands the weight of their duty - also they saved the world multiple times?

There's much else to say that relates to this decision, and some of it is personal, I must admit. But I'll eviscerate the thing another time, maybe :'D if people are interested ofc

Didn't drink from the well, because Solas made a good point about it lol and after what happened with Flemeth later, well... she's okay with that decision :' thanks Solas!

She sees what her role could turn into and that's a pretty scary outcome. She had fun with the bear thing, tho! That was pretty hilarious, plus I have something in mind with a climbing contest but, um

-The Descent

Did stop the earthquakes, enjoyed the trip and all the new info! 10/10 would return for Spring break (I hated it, she had the time of her life. That dlc was hard o-o like, intensely hard what the hell)

She's gonna slap the god, and then she's gonna treat him with chicken soup and a hug

Also, she always knew that the Inquisition had a limited time, and she did everything she could to make it right. But you can't squeeze a lemon forever and pretend the sauce isn't increasingly bitter (?)

Where is your favorite Dragon Age place? Do you have a favorite romance?

Mine would have to be Skyhold just because all our friends are there and it's home. My spouse and I have played all the romances in Inquisition and I love them all sooooo very much that I couldn't choose a favorite and I just wish you could romance every last one of them at the same time.

Okay, so I have to agree that across the games, I really do love Skyhold - but if we're talking about an environment that you get to run around in, I am very partial to Emprise du Lion for whatever reason. Maybe it's the sheer terror of knowing there are three dragons out there? Or that when under-leveled, the mobs can rock my world into the afterlife?

I just find it pretty out there, and the Emerald Graves. There are so many beautiful places within Inquisition, it's almost hard to pick - the music makes a big impact too!

Now for romances, I've dabbled in handfuls of them over the years of playing all three games, and I just think they're all really well written and amazing. But my basic set up for each game is...

Origins: Fem!Mage x Alistair

DA2: Male!Mage x Fenris

Inquisition: Fem!Mage x Cullen

There's just something about the "mage hater x mage" (even if they don't exactly HATE them, the concept is still there) dynamic that has me in a chokehold.

Honorable mention: Inquisitor x Blackwall, because I love a tortured bearded man, and his romance/story is so tragic and emotional, I cry.

I can already tell you what I plan to play for DA4, Unless something drastic catches my attention and just changes all gears for me. But I fully intend to make a Male Rook (Still undecided between mage and rogue), and romance Lucanis (the mage killer....see the trend?? Rogue just looks so fun to play imo lol, so I may break my trend for that), but regardless, I am stoked!!

38. What would be their ideal evening in?

Sitting by the fire in Eury's quarters with the pillows and blankets on the floor, the balcony doors open to let in the night air. There's books, Eury's crafts, maybe a chess board strewed about them, with a plate of food and wine within easy reach. Maybe Eury's fox Yappers has decided to join them, curled up in a ball by Cullen's stomach. There's not much talking; not much noise in general. Just the two of them quietly enjoying each other's company. They don't have to perform for anyone when they're alone like this.

86. Who gives the best gifts? Who gives the more thoughtful? Who goes for expensive?

So here's the thing; part of me thinks neither of them really has a concept of money. Cullen didn't have to pay for anything for seventeen long years and all his paychecks go off to his family. Eurydice had little interaction with human merchants prior to DAI and during DAI most of her financial transactions were handled by Josie. So, who has the most expensive? Both? Neither? They don't know they just get it and go. Let me tell you living on their own for the first time after Inquisition is going to be a ride what do you mean you gotta pay taxes??? I digress: Cullen is the one who buys gifts for Eurydice because he doesn't know how to make things (although later in life he takes up knitting and makes her a sweater with a poorly made mabari that looks like a potato on it). She told him a few times that she likes hair ribbons and it was the only thing she ever really wanted from shem merchants because they were so pretty, but she would get self conscience when she went up to stalls and never pick anything out. Her excuse is that a strip from one of her skirts work just as well, and she wouldn't want to get them dirty anyway. Cullen started picking her up spools of fine ribbon when ever he passes through markets. Of course, there are whispers about why the Commander has to buy boxes full of lady's hair ribbons, but its just for fun. It's not it isn't an open secret when the Inquisitor wears those very same ribbons in her hair the next day. Eurydice makes her gifts and they usually come in the form of woven leather bracelets. She's a perfectionist when it comes to those and so she's always fretting about them when she gives them to Cullen, muttering that it isn't good enough and it will break. Cullen wears every single one and those he can't wear, he keeps in a box by his bedside. That perfectionist nature comes through in other gifts as well: for one of his birthdays (prior before their courtship) Eurydice made him a sword that was meant to be for his exact skillset and enchanted against demon attack. She gave it to him three months later because went through four different prototypes before she decided it was good enough.

Alistair/Seren/Morrigan

16. Who is the better caretaker? Does their S/O like being taken care of?

Alistair. Seren doesn't know how to take care of someone outside their emotional needs and Morrigan is...well, she's Morrigan. She wasn't liable to take care of anyone before Kieran. Alistair isn't exactly great at either but I think out of the three he had the most emotional maturity to know what to do. Morrigan doesn't like to be taken care of either so even when Seren tried, it would be like trying to get a cat in a bath. Seren acts like she wants to be pampered but she actually bristles when people start to dig too deeply with her. Alistair needs to be coaxed into being taken care of because he feels like he's so undeserving sometimes and he brushes it off with a joke. Obviously that changes when they're older but these three kids are far too traumatized by the time of Origins to take care or be taken cause of because both require vulnerability--and that's asking a lot for them when all they've ever done is wear masks.

29. What's an insecurity they hold about their relationship?

Alistair has little to no self esteem from his upbringing and thinks Seren is too good for him. Seren is so afraid of the world taking Morrigan and Alistair away that she works to lock them away in order to protect them. Morrigan has been so emotionally abused by Flemeth that she's convinced Seren will eventually hurt her and thus is ready to leave Seren first at the first sign because Morrigan would rather be the one doing the hurting. And all of them have experienced lose and death in such violent ways that even long after Origins, they're worried that one day the world is just going to slaughter their lovers and leave them alone. I think the Origins crew might be the most emotionally fucked up of all my kids, but to be entire fair, Origins is the most fucked up game in my opinion SOOOO.

52. Who cooks? Who does the dishes?

Alistair cooks. Morrigan cooks. Seren burns foods and does the dishes, but goes ew ew ew ew ew when she touches wet left over food.

18. They've had a major blowout. How do they handle it?

Well in the days of old, they'd just drop it and let it simmer between them. That doesn't quit work out when Garrett lets Fenris 'be' for three years because they're both afraid of a broken heart. Not talking about it doesn't help either of them so that was one of the first thing Garrett put down when they got back together: Fenris can't run, he has to talk about it with him. No matter how much it hurts or where it takes him, he can't just blow up and decide he'll deal with alone. And Garrett can't make his jokes and say he'll shoulder it himself, he also has to sit down and listen. Running away doesn't work, fighting it doesn't work, so facing it head on is what they do.

87. If they ever lost one another in a public place, how do they find the other?

Garrett climbs the nearest post and starts surveying the area and when that doesn't work, he starts calling Fenris' name through his cupped hands. Fenris just needs look for a 6'3 ft dumbass hanging from a roof top and drag him down by his boot.

4. What does your worldstate look like going into DAV?

Well, it sounds like they're not using the Keep anymore, and I'm not sure what questions are going to be asked for the worldstate setup at the start, buuuut...

DAO: Jeanne Amell, of course. Jeanne doesn't have a ~canon romance (though I could be persuaded if someone makes a good argument). King Alistair and Queen Anora. Werewolves cured, Circle mages were saved, Ashes untouched, Redcliffe saved with the whole family alive (though Jeanne took the demon's deal and then killed it), King Bhelen with a destroyed Anvil. Loghain survived. Morrigan got preggo with Kieran. Architect was killed. Both Amaranthine and the Keep protected. All companions alive.

DA2: I'm having a hard time deciding if I'm going to go with Adnan or Amelie, but they pretty much have the same story beats. Humorous Mage Hawke. Romanced Fenris (OT3 Isabela). Carver is a Grey Warden. Anders is alive, but unhappily so. Merrill kept the Eluvian. Aveline is married and stayed Guard-Captain. Varric didn't keep the idol, and Bartrand is alive. Sebastian's causing Kirkwall a lot of headaches. Helped Tallis. Sided with the mages. Sided with Larius.

DAI: Proserpina (Panini!) Lavellan. Artificer Rogue. Technically romanced Iron Bull, but given Solas is in love with her, I'm wondering if I should mark the Solas romance. Dorian is besties, but headed back to Tevinter. Blackwall is back to being Thom Rainier. Chargers are alive, Bull is Tal-Vashoth. Harmond pressed into service, Sera stayed. Solas helped his spirit friend. Cole made more human. Varric dealt with Bianca. Helped Vivienne try to save the Duke. Josephine helped the Du Paraquettes and the Montilyets regained their status. Cullen stopped using lyrium. Leliana was softened and eventually made Divine. Helped the mages in Redcliffe, who joined the Inquisition. Strong-armed Celene, Gaspard, and Briala into working together. Loghain stayed in the Fade, Grey Wardens were exiled. Pina drank from the Well. Exposed the truth about Ameridan and became respected by the Avvar. Found out the truth about lyrium. The Inquisition stayed together as a peacekeeping organization. Pina vowed to stop Solas no matter the cost.

8. What faction are you excited to learn the most about?

All of them, barring the Grey Wardens?? Though I might start with a Lord of Fortune.

11. What's one thing you'd really like to see in this next game?

Varric not being killed

Hard to say... I'm mostly trying to keep my expectations low, given just how long the dev cycle has been and the massive layoffs last year. I'm definitely not pre-ordering. I guess I'm kind of just hoping to be pleasantly surprised, lol.

The Ultimate Best Dragon Age Non-Romantic relationship Dynamic

What we are looking for: We are looking for the ultimate best non-romantic relationship dynamic. That dynamic may come in many forms. They may be platonic besties, they may be antagonistic, they may have a parental/child relationship. But whatever they have, it’s wonderful to watch unfold and to think about. Ask yourself which relationship dynamic makes you unhinged? Makes you want to lock them in a room together? Makes you want to listen to all their dialogue/interactions on repeat? Which is your favourite duo to pair up, that you can��t stop thinking about how they work together (or don’t work together). Which relationship dynamic is the one that propels each character forward in their own development? Which relationship dynamic brings out an interesting side of each of the characters we don’t get to see as much?

What we are NOT looking for: We are not looking for the ‘best friends’ or the ‘most healthy relationship dynamic’ or ‘the ones who care the most about each other’ or ‘ones I wish had been better friends in canon’. We are also not looking for your favourite characters, we are looking specifically for the relationship dynamic. 

I will be including a dialogue or interaction quote/snippet underneath each poll to give you a refresher on how they interact. We are not voting on which of those dialogues is the best either - it’s just an example.

She looked as pinched as every other blazing noblewoman I’ve met, but there was something about her expression—” Hawke says, swinging along the tidy streets of Hightown toward the dust up. “She— smirked.” “She smirked.” Fenris’ flat tone is somehow flatter. “Yeah, her smirk. I mean I can’t blame her. I am me. But it was— nice. And… weirdly familiar.” “Pinched she may be, but that girl’s been plucked,” remarks Isabela with a wry twist of her lips. “What do you mean she’s been plucked?” asks Merrill. “Because she’s a Rose?” “Yes, because she’s a Rose,” answers Isabela.

the obvious ones:

fenders (fenris x anders) : i love a good narrative foil

zevistair (zevran x alistair) : idk if this counts as a rarepair but!!! their canon flirting banters always make me go sooo insane. that you can include zevran in the foursome w alistair if alistair is hardened (lol) makes me INSANE. they are basically canon aND YET!!!!!!

warden x loghain : ive written so much abt them already. you get the idea

the less obvious ones:

anders/merrill (bonus: anders/merrill/isabela): for all the same reasons i ship fenders (which i would argue is still relatively a popular pair, so not quite rarepair??); they're such good mirrors, they're both encapsulate what the other fears. anders being 100% okay to hurt people despite being a healer vs merrill being a blood mage who has never wanted to hurt anyone is just *chef kiss*. you can take a look at this for more compelling reasons to ship them.

fenris/merrill: for all the same reasons as above. i think if u dont ship each individual LI of the kirkwall polycule w each other, u shouldnt say u ship the kirkwall polycule.

solavelyan / soladaar / soladash / solas x non-lavellan inqs: i still think it should've been a romance option for all inqs tho i suppose they didn't really have the time to develop a non-lavellan route for them, but i love thinking about it, and i love the vibes for it so much. again, i love narrative foils, and i think it's so natural to be drawn to someone who could understand you like that.

alistair x bethany: a not-templar and a not-circle mage, in the wardens together. i think they'd really like each other and have a very interesting kind of energy!!! they've both got these secret bitter/spiteful sides to them, there's a lot of parallels (like alistair thinking warden conscription is a good thing bc it was for him and bethany having v different emotions abt being a warden in general). i've also really enjoyed most of the fics i've read for them.

nathaniel x f!cousland: UNFORTUNATELY THOUGH i dont think i've been able to find the kind of fic i want for them in the tag. i've got too many wips as it is, but maybe one day i'll write the nathaniel/f!cousland fic of my dreams...

nathaniel x anora: this one is admittedly @rosella-writes' fault, but they've got me by the THROAT as a concept

m!hawke/cullen: LIKE ESPECIALLY IF IT'S ONE-SIDED FOR CULLEN it's something that can be SO fascinating to explore (esp in an amell worldstate). [shaking cullen] babygirl what is WRONG with you!!!!!!!

27 - Who tends to drive on long journeys? Who navigates?

In a modern AU setting, she would drive and navigate. She's better with machinery, also her driving style is "aggressive" (she hates when he stops at every orange light <<). He would take advantage of it to work or plan hotel, museums, activities... maybe I should write something about it hahaha

In their current world, if they had to rent a cart she would let him drive while she navigates. She's a hunter, and a compass with legs, he's better with horses.

47 - If it ever came down to it, who is turning to the darkside to save the other?

This is super interesting, because they're working on themselves to do the opposite. Thing is, I think they would both do shitty things if it meant the other has the possibility to survive another day.

Like, they would know exactly what to do, with an uncomfortable ease, but they would give it at least some thought at the beginning.

31 - How would they describe one another.

Barbarella: "Oh he's such a-" gestures widely "Look at him! HIM! Funniest person I've ever met! Have you seen his face? So handsome, beautiful, breathtaking. HE'S SO-" keeps gesturing "You ever feel like home with someone? That's him, he's everything. I would kill a guy for him. I did, yeah! But I would do it again. Oh, what a beauty, looking like the best branch of a weeping willow." sighs in awe.

Fenris: "He's reliable, frank" pauses "handsome. His cooking is decent, yeah."

74 - Who's more likely to bail who out of jail? Would they give the other one shit for it?

So, first question; both. They're pure menaces

Second question; Barbara would just laugh it off because we all make mistakes. He'd ask him what was up with whatever Fenris did and he'd just respect it if his jokes are met with silence. Would bring some food with him for reassurance.

Fenris would be more annoyed at it. He would scold Hawke briefly, then shrug it off. Look at him, chuckling at a joke <3

How big is the spider tho?

If it's small, they'd both just throw a boot onto it. If big (mabari size), they'd team up to squash it with whatever they have / they find around. They both get trapped in the nets a lot tho, until Morrigan / Zevran takes care of the situation for them <<'

80 - What tropes could be applied to this relationship?

The inevitable battle couple (because that's a prerequisite for me) fire-forged friends (to lovers), us against the world / together we are power, and a hint of slow burn

There are some I can't find but these are like, the foundation lol

Alistair (if very drunk / injured), because the other two are too stuck in the "I hate you" shtick that they built a whole dynamic around being haters.

H: "Sure! I'd build you a little cage and feed you three times a day. Do you want to be one? I may know a spell. No, oh Maker, don't cry, I don't want to turn you into a worm, you dumbass!"

It would be Hawke. For both things. But of course Cullen insists of taking turns, they fight, Alistair collects the spoils of war (eternal income of free food and freedom from chores)

Basically I was picking up a few extra treats after the deadline because I discovered a few people had slipped through the cracks and I can't live with that. I was also busy, I'm an adult with responsibilities, it happens.
