#look i miss rayman

I just realized that I forgot to mention what I meant about fully preparedness for my character polls such as Jak and Rayman. After seven fucking polls is when my dumbass realizes the flaw. Welp here's the post rectifying said mistake with everyone's favorite limbless hero, Rayman, for the example.

This loveable dorky Thingamajig right here.

Now Rayman has been on a lot of adventures and every one introduced something new to his skillset. The series stapled Lums particularly ones like Red or Purple. Rayman 3 with its combat fatigues/power up transformations. Adventures granting the Incrediball companions who can help find things, gather particular stuff similar to magnets or grant powerful protection. Origins/Legends introducing various cartoony abilities from travel through paintings to running on walls. His latest appearance being a powered up Plungergun/Blaster and the Sparks.

These are some of the things that can come with Rayman for wherever he ends up. Other stuff include food provisions, water, and any essentials often taken on long journeys. Now I'll be using Transformers Prime as an example for this mainly because I want to drive these particular bots nuts but also Rayman not having a good time with sentient machines if you look at Rayman 2.

Where and when does our limbless hero pop up? How about the battle that would've been Cliffjumper's last stand i.e the first episode? Yup. Right in the thick of it as I want to paint a big fat target on Ray's back for both sides.

Before anyone fusses, this Thingamajig fought bigger and dangerous enemies but still came out on top. It isn't his first rodeo especially with killer machines. Where was I? Oh right, him dispatching Vehicons alongside Cliff.

Both are able to take down their Decepticon opponents just before Team Prime shows up. With his good deed done, Rayman decides to dip as he rather not experience any war flashbacks to the Razorbeard debacle from his second adventure. Optimus tries to convince the Thingamajig that he'll be under their protection but nope.

Rayman flees by using Ethering to turn invisible. Although he accidentally leaves one of his paintings behind in the process. The Autobots retrieve the item with hope it can lead them back to their friend's savior. It's quite clear that Rayman isn't from Earth and could be a target to the Decepticons.

A notion later proven true once Soundwave retrieves the footage from the fallen Vehicons. Upon seeing the feed, Megatron orders his Decepticons to capture Rayman should the opportunity present itself. This strange creature could prove helpful to their cause.

Now Rayman is essentially on the run from the beginning. Whenever he can, the Thingamajig would set up shelter and rest up. Most of the time Rayman camps out in the woods. There's enough natural cover and places to hide.

A task that becomes more difficult since one encounter with Soundwave left him stranded in Jasper, Nevada. Yup. He still gets entangled in both factions' conflict as the poor guy is so lost. Why is he here? Does it have something to do with these giant robots?

Both aren't good at providing info as Rayman constantly has to dodge servos(hands for Cybertronians) through almost every encounter. Except for Cliffjumper since he has an inkling the limbless hero wouldn't like that. Moreso after the incident I'll call 'Catch the Thingamajig'. One limbless hero popping up in a warzone between a four v. four battle.

Decepticons: Starscream, Soundwave, Breakdown and Knockout

Autobots: Optimus, Bumblebee, Bulkhead and Arcee

You guys ever seen an intense football 🏈 specifically on the Super Bowl level? That's how I describe this particular incident with poor Rayman being the ball. Some examples. He gets grabbed by Arcee only for Soundwave to tackle her. Bumblebee attempts capture but Rayman ducks just in time!

The Thingamajig goes to glide away only to get snatched up by Starscream. Seeker tries to flee through via groundbridge however Bulkhead knocks him off kilter! Rayman switches to the Shock Rocket to garner some distance from both factions. It buys him a few seconds only for his cover to get blown by Breakdown!

The Decepticon nabs Rayman and attempts to pass him over to Knockout but Optimus intercepts! Starscream goes for the steal however the Thingamajig has had enough. Rayman frees himself via Screech then forces everyone to scatter with Pyrogeddon.

The only thing Autobots haven't tried to reach the Thingamajig is Cliffjumper. Rayman did save the bot and no one knows how he'll react towards the kids. (We missed out on guardian Cliffjumper. Yes, Rayman marked as his ward upon capture.)

Meanwhile the Decepticons would have to be more sneaky in their approach. The Thingamajig is craftier and stronger than they thought. Maybe a certain Predacon obsessed scientist could help with the endeavor.

It's gonna take some time and well planning if anyone wants to reach Rayman. Meanwhile the Thingamajig is gonna do his best to survive this huge clusterfuck of a fiasco. Hopefully he'll be able to go home and get a much needed nap.

[ a/n:: we need more rayman. i'm still new to writing fanfics(aside my horrid watpad {i forgot how to spell it} phase.) forgive my errors and i hopefully plan to write more of him. he haunts my nightmares(lovingly). i'm ill rn, and wrote most of this in a sleep deprived craze for more rayman. first time writing these characters-- forgive me. ]

i feel like he'd be the type to randomly pinch you especially when he feels like he's being ignored, or when you're 'busy'.

he always does it when you least expect it. sitting on the couch, scrolling on your phone/reading a book? pinch. getting something to drink? pinch. stargazing? pinch.

loves the little reactions he gets from you. giggles over it. i bet he kicks his feet too.

definitely the type to swipe food from your plate when you're not looking, then gaslight you about it.

you're missing a potato wedge? nuh-uh. you're crazy. how dare you assume that your handsome, loving, amazing boyfriend would ever steal from you. the betrayal...(he did it.)

i like to think he enjoys hand kisses. random thought, but i dunno. i think he'd like to kiss your palms as a source of reassurance, and of course receiving the same affection back would probably give him a heart attack. in a good way of course.

or when you're a bit stressed in public and hold onto the back of his hoodie. like slightly holding onto the fabric where it's almost unnoticeable. probably the cutest thing you could ever do in his eyes. (that or giving him a lil kiss.)

silly things aside, he stuggles a lot. his failures that haunt him day in and out, he's scared to know how long it takes before he fails you too.

simple mistakes can lead to him getting stressed or overwhelmed as he doesn't leave any room for his 'failures', even with something so simple as accidentally knocking something over, breaking stuff, etc... he truly believes that you are one mistake away from leaving him.

he tries to be forgiving of all things with consideration of course, but often times it backfires. he has a naïve view that everyone can, and will change. he wants to believe that they will change for the better, even if the person chooses not to change, or to change for the worse. he blames himself when things go south because of that, he wants to give someone a second chance, but sometimes do they really deserve it? he tells himself he should know better by now, and it was all nothing but wishful thinking. very forgiving for others, but the rules don't apply to himself.

be patient with him, and reassure him whenever you get the chance. he really needs it.

his sleep schedule is the most horrendous schedule you will have ever seen. it's teetering between a full on coma, or staying awake for days on end. he loves taking naps, but sometimes he just can't-- he has work to do. remind him breaks are necessary. force him to sleep when he needs it. for his naps(comas), i don't know. cry? if there's one thing that'll wake him up is the sound of you in distress.

rayman is a sucker for pet names. he will be a puddle of goo in you're hands.

you're in another room, and he's just lounging about. the next moment you're calling for him, needing his help with something? he's right there. like right behind you.

lives for simplicity. babe, baby, sweetheart, honey, hun/hon. consider whatever you need done. he's so whipped for you.

he's also pretty good with pda. again, the pinching. public, private, it doesn't matter. that cute little pout on you're face is something he'd kill for.

personally, i prefer the earlier games personality traits as opposed to (i believe)origins. i do enjoy the childish behavior, however i do believe his immaturity does have a limit. (living for soh!rayman.)

definitely the type to crack the funniest jokes at the worst times imaginable. it's his secret talent.

that, and hitting you with a one liner when you're both faced with a terrible situation. except that one liner is just so good-- you have to at least give him credit for that.

huge soft spot for sentimental gifts. always putting them somehwere safe, and when enough time passes, he likes to go over each and every one. reminiscing about all the little things.

raymesis.

'a hot tempered psycho who's looking to destroy rayman's reputation'. not my words-- it's the wiki's.

with canonical anger issues under his belt(?), he's a bit more brash than the other two. when realizing he may like you, he may turn against you in almost violent ways. but, he hesistates everytime. always missing by a hair.

it takes him a while before he'd able to ever consider that maybe being vulnerable is okay-- just this once.

suprisingly a tad bit cautious of 'being nicer' to you, but he's trying his best.

raymesis is a thing-a-majig with a serious identity crisis.

i like to think that the some of the 4-5 vers. of the evil clones of rayman are just him having multiple 'phases'. it's fun to think of.

on a more serious note: he often feels like he's nothing but a lesser-- a shadow of the heroic rayman. maybe he looks up to him in a way, and finds jealousy in how he can just...keep going. how he's able to be so open, and forgive other so easily despite their past transgressions. he finds it unfair: why is it so difficult for him, but so easy for rayman. he's a clone of him, sure an evil clone, but a clone nonetheless. that's where the deep, dark spiral comes in.

linking to that he struggles to be nice, vulnerable, or open with you. he's supposed to be an evil clone of some heroic figure, and yet he's falling over himself because of you. in his own way, he gets extremely upset-- it pisses him off. he tries to be mean to you, but he can't bring himself to do so. he's supposed to be a 'bad person', but hurting you makes him seem like more of a monster than a villain.

this will all take time for him to process, the best thing you can do is be patient, listen to him rant, and just try and be there for him.

you have definitely mellowed him out, just a bit. he's still an asshole to rayman/j.

they're more like bickering siblings who never get along.

do not expect 'family(?)' dinners to go well.

i feel like mr.dark and the nymphs have serious beef with eachother. wwe smack downs every 'family(?)' dinner. always bet on the nymphs.

wouldn't it be cute for the nymphs to treat raymesis like their son too? just adopting him one day without him knowing? scolding him for lighting that one house down the street on fire?

raymesis doesn't like christmas trees.

there seems to be a reoccurring joke in the descriptions that claim raymesis is 'ugly' despite the fact he's a near clone of rayman. this always leaves him in a puddle of confusion with his confidence always shot. please tell him he's pretty once in a while-- he won't accept the compliment, but he'll think about it for days.

he's not used to praise, and can't take compliments. poor buddy.

he definitely bites. a lot.

of course he's a little more careful with you, he still bites now and again. i feel like he's an agressive lover. wanting to squeeze the life out of things he finds 'cute' without ever admitting it.

he has a purple tongue. that's kinda cool. i like to think he probably has a tongue piercing too? i feel like he's the type.

definitely plenty of pent up feelings that he has a hard time expressing.

but pda? oh yeah. lives for it. his hands always has to be on you in one way or another. get's all agitated, and sulks when you pull you're hand away from his to pick something up, or to rummage through your bag. how dare you-- you owe a huge apology.

pet names; babe/baby, sweetheart, creature, mine, stupid/idiot(lovingly). he's very silly with these.

he has a hard time believing you'd ever choose him compared to the hero, rayman. with time maybe he'll learn you love him, and choose him because he's your first choice.

he may not be the best person, but he's at least willing to learn to be better in his own way.

can we all agree on the amount of trust issues this man has right about now? good.

after the betrayal with eden whether you've been in his life for years or not, he finds it hard to put everything out in front. it'll take him some time to rebuild trust after what eden did. and no, him needing to rebuild the trust has nothing to do with you! (i mean that in a good way.) you did nothing wrong(unless you did) in his eyes but, he used to believe eden was his everything. and with that, eden took everything. he worries that with time they'll take you too.

give him reassurance, quality time, the whole mile. remind him you're not going anywhere.

while cuddling in bed(couch, etc) probably the type to refuse to let you go to the bathroom because he doesn't want to let you go.

honestly, very romantic.

he loves fruit, and chocolate covered fruit too.

will buy you some, but steals a few pieces when you're not looking. he's sneaky like that.

also known that he likes sushi, but i feel like he probably has beef with the conveyer belt things. probably a bad experience, or he's mad at it for no reason.

he's the type to tell the most outrageous stories out of the blue. he's the absolute king of 'i used to know a friend'.

another terrible sleep schedule. like absolutely horrendous.

he probably has nightmares about his time as a news host. thinking of the lies he used to spread. how much each one impacted someone elses life.

wakes up in a cold sweat. ends up focusing on you're calm breathing, and tries to match it. eventually falls asleep, not before firmly pulling you close to him. even when you wake up, you'll never escape his grasp.

on an alternative route, if you did wake up, he's extremely apologetic. tries to usher you back to sleep. now you're both awake munching on some food watching some shitty trash tv, criticizing why she choose james over percy.

he's not keen on pda. he worries for you're life. it's already a risk for you to be with him-- what if eden sees?

pet names too, but more casual with them behind closed doors. definitely married-couple-core. sweetheart, brat when he's being a pain, or play fighting. hon/hun, baby when he's literally attached to you're hip.

has frequent chronic migraine. enjoys just burying his face into you're stomache and just laying there while you're doing whatever your doing. like a cat.

enjoys the comfortable silence between you two, but small conversation is just as nice.

has guns. you broke a lamp. doesn't let you touch no more./j

he actually prefers you have a gun on your person at all times, even in the comfort of home. you'll never know what could happen when you can't protect yourself.

Since Ubisoft makes NFTs of Rayman, I don’t feel bad about rewriting the whole show (kinda)

Me and @rainbow-wolf120 both kinda/really like CLH, but we both have issues with it. Soooo why not rework some stuff while keeping the core the same? Seems easy enough (NOT). First up is Bullfrog :)

More stuff below cut:

Bullfrog is my favorite character of the show. I love him, he’s awesome and fun and kind when everyone else is sorta giant assholes. Also his design is very clean and cute, and I don’t really have issues with him.

HOWEVER, I do have a couple grievances with how he dresses and his motives.

On one hand, if he is the last of the brotherhood, WHY DRESS SO OBVIOUSLY LIKE AN ASSASSIN?? This is an issues I have with Dolph too, bc like, if you are supposed to be under the radar, you would think HIDING the parts of you that GIVE AWAY WHO YOU ARE WOULD BE OBVIOUS. But no, no you need interesting looking protags ig.

Another thing that irks me is that there are so many cool assassins in the Assassin’s Creed universe. So many. And they choose to base Bullfrog on Ezio. I get it for marketing ig, but like, there’s literally a French assassin (AC Unity), but no, the French frog gets to be Italian lol. Although I find it funny, I feel like the whole thing was a missed opportunity to give exposer to the lesser-played AC games. Or use it to promote AC Shadows by making Bullfrog a girl or like the woman assassin from that game. Or better yet, combine a ton of different aspects of every AC game into the outfit.

Which is what I did lol.

To fix both these problems, I decided to design two looks for her (he’s a her now, stone me idc, also sorry every Laserfrog shipper ever it’s not personal I promise). The one on the left is her assassin fit. It drives a lot more inspo from AC Shadows and AC Unity, with elements of Ezio and Bullfrog’s original look. However, most of Bullfrog’s initial look is incorporated in the outfit on the right, which is the subtlety outfit. That is the outfit she starts the series with, only to take it off in the sewers to reveal she’s an assassin.

When in the subtle outfit, she tries to hide as much of herself as possible. Her assassin parts, her frog parts, and her girl-ness. Kinda. She just presents as a man so people don’t fuck with her. As for the assassin fit, it shows up in the Sewer scene when she’s fighting the dudes down there. Then they identify her once she’s arrested and surprises Rayman with being a girl lol.

And to everyone who gets pissy about her being a girl, the show needs more girls.

After everything that’s happened , Ramon has definitely become a lot more protective of you , which means he will be by your side pretty much all the time :

Every piece you make that features him will be kept somewhere safe , maybe something close to an album , so that he’ll be able to look at it whenever you’re away or if he’s not having the best day : seeing such a sincere display of your love for him never fails to bring him joy , and it makes him even more determined to keep you safe no matter what . 

While he likes to stay quiet when you discuss about your interest , Ramon is going to remember every little thing you tell him , and this gets demonstrated when the two of you are watching either a series or a movie you like .

I've spent the last 5 days putting together and painting this 3D printed model based on the Rayman 3 promotional Leptys statue!

Someone very kindly went out of his way to print one out for me so I could give painting it a go!

More pics and my process under the cut...

It arrived in pieces which slotted together really easily and just needed a bit of glue. I've never worked with something 3D printed before so I was looking forward to putting this together.

It was really light and fragile so that worried me when handling the pieces and sandpapering them, especially where there were parts that were really thin, such as the hair and the hoodie strings.

I sandpapered down the sharp edges and bits of plastic that were still stuck on. I was hoping I could sandpaper down the layer lines that are left behind by the printer, but the model has so many tiny details which I didn't want to lose.

Cleaned it up as best as I could, assembled the pieces and gave it a plastic primer coating so it was ready for painting. It stands at roughly 17.5cm.

Unlike a clay model, I wasn't used to having to put so many layers on. Usually a base coat is enough, but with plastic the light shines right through the model (can't really see it in photos) so I ended up spending a lot of time putting multiple coats on paint on.

During painting I noticed a tiny piece on the bird's head at the top was missing.

At first I thoguht there was no way I could fix it with clay because the figurine was made of plastic and would melt in the oven, but I figured I could eye-ball the shape and attach it on later. After a couple attempts I managed to get a similar looking shape made of clay glued on and sandpapered it to shape!

I know the big promotional statue itself has the ball at the top be a blue colour, but I couldn't help but find it kinda dull to look at. After looking up how the leptys statue looks in-game, I realised that in the game it changes colour from blue to purple and has magical swirls so I figured why not let's paint something like that instead.

After a couple coats of varnish and a felt bottom to protect surfaces, it was done. My photos don't do it justice, but I'm pretty happy with the result!

"What am I doing?"

Rayman muttered to himself regretfully as he walked down the cold grid iron streets to the address the party was supposedly located. Rayman has always been a social creature, he loved the idea of meeting new people and going on adventures with them but that mindset had been slowly chipped away during his time in America. Specifically American school. He struggled to make social connections in his classes and was quickly deemed an outcast by his peers which was heart breaking for Rayman because he know it was only because he was alien, the people that liked to make fun of him made that fact pretty clear. It was something he couldn't change and even though he didn't choose to look the way he does or be where he's from he still got hate for it and he never really understood why.

Which is why he was shocked when he was invited to a house party by one of his class mates. He just knew he couldnt miss this opportunity to finally mend his social status and make a friend! Which leads him here. Walking towards the door of a house he's never been at before. He let's out a Sigh before raising his fist and firmly knocking the door. He knew he was at the right place, the sound of music and enthusiastic people could be heard quite clearly through the door (it made him almost feel bad for the neighbours).

Before rayman had the chance to knock once more the door swung open revealing the very drunk but very happy class mate that invited Rayman in the first place

"BROOO! You made it! I thought you where gonna be a no show"

The class mate ushered rayman in shutting the door behind him.

"Hehe what can I say, im a man of my word"

Rayman chuckled slightly nervous but intertained by how friendly his class mate was being. He finally takes a look around the house to see that this party was a lot bigger than he thought. There was at least 10 people in each room. Some where in groups chatting away to eachother, some where playing drinking games and others where dancing. A small smile started to grow on raymans face. Everyone seemed to be having fun so it shouldn't be so hard for him to join in right?

"If you wanting a drink feel free to grab whatever you want in the kitchen!"

The drunk class mate spoke a lil more slurred but still sounding enthusiastic. Rayman just gave him a smile and a small thanks before watching him stumble back to a group of people he must have been previously chatting with. 'Now what?' Rayman asked himself as he looked around anxiety curling in his gut like a snake. Does he just go up and chat to someone? He decides before doing anything he should take his coat off which he then hung up on the pegs by the door. He walks further into the house seeing people having fun. ' they make it look so easy' he thought to himself sullenly but a small creature in the corner of his vision distracts him from his thoughts.

"A cat!"

Rayman says aloud to himself before following the cute Calico cat into the kitchen. He doest pay much mind to the people as they seem to be talking amongst themselves. He crouches down In front of the cat petting it gently

"Arnt you just a sweetheart~"

He cous while scratching behind the cats ear. He spots a purple collar and a little silver name tag around the cats neck reaching for it to find out what the cats called. He flips the little silver tag and reads it

"Well hello kaya, aret you a cutie~"

Kaya looks at him Acknowledging he is speaking to her. She let's out a high pitch soft meow that makes rayman chuckle. He always loved animals.

"Of course your making friends with the animals considering you practically are one"

A voice filled with poison and Sadistic Humor spoke from behind him. He looked away from the cat and up to the owner of the voice. It was a guy in a very generic outfit and a blue hat.

"Excuse me?"

He spoke confuse hoping maybe the guy was meaning it as some sort of distasteful joke? Oh lord how he hoped.

"Who the fuck invited this thing to the party!"

Blue hat guy shouted loudly while pointing at rayman looking around the room as he did so. A few people began to giggle and rayman could feel all hope for having a fun night disappear.

"I'm not a 'thing' dipshit!"

Rayman retorted embarrassment making his face feel hot.

"Well what are you then huh?"

He leaned in close to raymans face. There was a short moment of silence before he continued

"Because all I can see is some sort of alien freak!"

The smell of alcohol was reaking from his breath. Rayman didn't like how close he was. How angry he was getting the more he talked. He opened his mouth to speak.

"I-"

"What the fuck is your problem!"

An angry feminine voice spoke causing both rayman and the drunk guy to turn and face her. She stormed towards the both of them before pushing the drunk guy away from rayman.

"You asshole!, what gives you the right to speak to anyone like that!"

Oh lord was this girl mad. Rayman looked up at her in disbelief as she shouted at the guy who was previously insulting him. Was she defending him? She stood tall in front of rayman making sure she was blocking him out of the drunk guys line of site.

"Hes a fucking freak just look at him!"

The drunk guy slurred his words trying to justify his point but the scowl on the girls face just grew deeper.

"Your fucking disgusting"

She spoke lowly to him

"Thinking you have the right to speak to somone like that, do you think your better than him because he's not from here or something?"

She asked with genuine confusion In her voice

"Is that why? Do you feel more entitled than him because he looks different from you?, because if that's the case then that sound pretty fucking racist if you ask me"

She quirks her brow as if asking a question. He stays silent but his anger is clear on his face

"Men like you disgust me"

She spoke her words laced with anger before she turned around and faced rayman. She jerked her head to the side indicating towards the door

"Let's go"

She said kindly to Rayman who looked up at her like she was some sort of godess that saved him. He nodded quickly before grabbing his jacket and following her outside.

"Well that was a shit show"

He muttered to himself while following after her. She made her way to the sidewalk before taking a seat on the edge of it. She looked over to rayman and patted the place next to her offering him to sit down which he does. The air is chillie enough to see your breath as a moment of silence fell apon them. She pulled a packet of cigarettes out her pocket before offering one to him which he decides to take.

"Thank you..."

Rayman spoke timidly.

"Not just for the cigarette obviously but for everything that went on in there"

That got a little giggle out of her. She brought the cigarette up to her lips taking a long inhale of it.

"It's okay, that guys was being a prick"

She faced rayman with a slightly sullen expression.

" I'm y/n, I don't think I got your name?"

"It's rayman... thank you y/n"

She chuckled again a small smile growing on her face.

"You've already thanked me"

She spoke sweetly

"besides I couldn't just stand and watch. That guy was being cruel for literally no reason"

"People stand and watch all the time"

Rayman spoke sadly but honestly his eyes avoiding hers

"Your the first person who hasn't..."

He looked back up at her to see her intently watching him. There was something behind her eyes he couldn't quite place. Anger?, sadness?, he wasn't sure but he just knew that the feelings weren't directed at him.

"Don't say that man, your gonna make me cry"

She joked half heartdly the sound of her voice wavering was clear.

"Oh nonono!, im so sorry!"

Rayman spoke in a panic

"I wasn't trying to upset you-"

"No no, don't worry!"

She placed a finger over his lips in order to get him to stop talking. He's silent. Pleading eyes staring up to gentle one's as she moves her hand away from his mouth.

"It just makes me upset that nobody was willing to help you before. Don't feel like you need to sensor yourself for my benefit"

She spoke softly to him. Rayman was starting to feel like he didn't have to be so much on edge now that it was just them two alone which was new for him. Usually he had to be more alert if hes gonna be by himself with somone. Even thought he didn't know y/n that much he still felt safer alone with her than back in the house. She took a deep drag from her cigarette and so did he.

They sat there together for a while. Talking and laughing between cigarettes and alcohol. Y/n decided to share a good few bottles of her own alcohol with rayman. It wasn't the nicest of drink but it was good enough and strong too. It didn't take long for the both of them to be intoxicated. They where sitting closer together now the alcohol making them loose the concept of personal space as they chatted.

"Hey this place blows, why don't we go back to my place?"

Y/n suggested as she took another swig out her bottle

"We have been sitting outside getting drunk ourselves, would be warmer at yours too"

Rayman spoke semi to himself as he pondered on the idea

"Kmonnnn~"

Y/n whined as she grabbed one of raymans shoulders and shook him playful chanting "My house! My house!" Over and over while laughing

"Okay okay!"

Rayman laughed placing his hand ontop of the one y/n placed on his shoulder in hopes it would get her to stop shacking him

"It is better than staying outside the party we kinda just walked out on"

He chuckled as he stood up reaching a hand out for y/n to help her up. She takes it as rayman pulls her up onto her feet. Y/n thanks him before giving herself a big stretch followed by a pleased groan

"Ahh~ Alright!, let's go!"

She glanced over the floor making sure she didn't leave anything behind before looking at rayman a smile spreading across her face.

"We're actually not that far from my house probably like a 10-15 minute walk roughly"

She tilts her head a little to see if raymans okay with that. He gives her a smile and a goofy thumbs up.

"All good, lead the way!"

He smiled enthusiastically. Y/n just laughs before turning around and walking down the street. She checks over her shoulder to see if rayman is following and motions with her hand for him to catch up. Rayman jogs up next to her before sticking to a walking pace. He doesn't know if it's the alcohol or not but he's having more fun tonight than he has in a while but whatever it is he doesn't want this good feeling to go away. Then suddenly y/n gasps

"Oh my god! I just released somthing"

Y/n spoke in a shocked voice

"What is it?"

Rayman look up to her worried as they walked.

"I can order McDonald's!"

Rayman playful hits her shoulder while chuckling

"You bitch, I though you where gonna say something serious"

"I am serious!"

They both laughed as they walked

"Somthing to eat does sound good though"

Rayman agreed and nodded with this idea they began cooking up

"I just want food"

Y/n whined as she walked down the street and before they knew it they where at her house.

"Home~ glorious home~"

Y/n sung aloud to herself while approaching the door making rayman chuckled in amusement. She reached into her pocket and pulled out her key sticking it into the door and opening it. She stood to the side of the door before doing a little bow while gesturing rayman to enter

"Ladies first?"

She teased as rayman walked by rolling his eyes but the smirk on his face was hard to hide. She chuckled at his lack of a reaction before closing the door behind them

Ok tw for death cause I'm boutta to talk about the bomb in Bullfrog's head some more

But like... Whatever Sarah had going on was known by Eden right? The enemy of state betrayal thing was just a cover up, so I'm assuming the bombs inside protag's heads aren't just a thing she did unauthorized, the higher ups know (unless i missed some line that contradicts this and look stupid rn which might very well be true since i finished watching the series at 5 am after not sleeping for 2 nights)

So

why the heck

was electrocution the method chosen to kill Bullfrog

Like maybe it's blockbuster logic that electricity + explosive leads to it detonating, but this show is nothing if not a slut for tropes, so if there really is a bomb in his head and he does get the chair I expect things to blow up

Not that I don't desperately want the frog to live, I really hope they do rescue him, but it's Netflix we're talking about, they could do it just for the anticlimactic twist

My best guess is that they removed the bomb before this, because they can't have their mascot and a kid blow up on air (i mean i doubt fake Rayman dies i think he's character.ai but the optics are there), and big if true, cause now if Bullfrog gets saved or escapes, they can't blow him up at any moment

But it still boggles my mind that literally any other method of execution would not trigger the bomb, had he been shot or decapitated or euthanized, but I guess for a public broadcast a bloody or slow death wouldn't do

so yea the two options are

1) the bombs really were unaccounted for, probably cause they were Sarah's personal little twist (i can believe that over Eden just collectively being stupid) and if Bullfrog dies, he takes imposter Rayman with him

2) the bomb was removed in preparation for the execution, and we get a chance at a clean getaway. Good ending :)

so i am terribly sorry that this has taken so long to get to you. i had been in a writing lull for awhile and then i had giftober which ate up a huge chunk of like a month and a half. but its here now and i can always count on @hevanderson to request hevans when i need it most <3

“Dude, you really suck at this.”

“Oh, come on, bro, you can���t tell me that was fair!” Finn argued, gesturing towards the screen animatedly. “You can’t trick the player into falling into a trap by putting a treasure there!”

Before Sam could get a response in, Kurt had exited his room and was now leaning over the back of the couch. “Why are you yelling?” He questioned, looking mildly annoyed. To be fair, though, Sam had found that Kurt frequently looked mildly annoyed when it came to Finn.

“‘Cause this game’s unfair!”

“You can’t be mad when you fell for the trap, man,” Sam reasoned. Finn, however, did not seem to share the same opinion.

“Whatever,” Finn sulked, “Game’s dumb anyway.”

Kurt hummed behind them. “Right. Hey, Finn, don’t you have a date with Rachel at 7:30 tonight?”

“Yeah, why?”

“Because it’s 7:15 now,” Kurt stated, showing Finn the time on his phone screen. “And I tell you this, not as a stepbrother who loves you, but as someone who doesn’t want to hear Rachel Berry bitch about her love life later.”

“Shit.” Finn stood up immediately, tossing his controller on the couch and grabbing his keys off the counter. “Gotta go. We’ll play more later, ‘kay?”

“Sounds good,” Sam agreed easily. He could see how upsetting Rachel could be a dangerous game. He would certainly not like to be on the receiving end of that tirade. And he also had no doubt in his mind that Kurt would be the first person Rachel would complain to about it.

“Sorry to interrupt your guy-time. I’m sure I impeded on the time-honored tradition of ‘bros before hoes’, but I had to protect my own peace.”

“Nah, you didn’t interrupt anything,” Sam replied in reassurance. He then picked up the controller that Finn tossed down on the couch and shook it a bit. “Wanna play?”

“I don’t really play games,” Kurt confessed, but even then, he rounded the couch so that he could sit down next to Sam. He brought his feet to tuck neatly beneath him as he got comfortable. “It looks hard.”

“It’s not hard, Finn’s just terrible. Here.” Sam handed Kurt the Playstation controller, demonstrating the controls using the controller in his own hands. “X is jump and square is attack,” he explained, showing the different moves on the screen. “Oh, and right trigger is run! You’ll probably want to know that too.”

Kurt hummed in acknowledgement, repeating the moves that Sam was showing him using his own character.

They fell into relative silence after that, only occasionally interrupted when Sam decided to point out a particular feature of the game or when Kurt asked a question. For never having played video games much in his past, Kurt wasn’t half bad. He picked up on the mechanics well enough and he was comparable to Finn (which said something about Finn’s ability to play Rayman Legends).

It was only after several minutes of admittedly rather comfortable silence did Sam finally decide to speak up. “Y’know, I never get to see you ‘round here much anymore. I kinda miss it,” he admitted, still paying attention to the screen.

Sam felt Kurt give him a strange look, but he didn’t take his eyes off the screen to meet it. “What do you mean?” He asked, his character stopping in its tracks as Kurt stopped playing.

Sam gave a shrug, a bit unsure himself why the words were coming out of his mouth suddenly. “Ever since you got that boyfriend, Blaine,” he enunciated a bit cheekily, “you just haven’t spent as much time at home.” Blaine was a nice guy, Sam thought, but he didn’t really know him all that well yet. If anything, Blaine seemed to have trouble integrating himself into McKinley. Sam could relate to that to a certain degree.

Kurt hummed in response. “Relationships make you busy. You of all people should know that,” he acknowledged, clearly making a harmless dig at Sam. He wasn’t wrong, of course. Sam rarely seemed to find himself remaining single for very long at any given point.

“Even too busy for me?” Sam teased, batting his eyes at Kurt before returning his attention to the game. Kurt wasn’t really playing much anymore, but it wasn’t too unlike having to carry Finn through levels so he didn’t really think much of it.

“Too busy for everyone, I’m afraid,” Kurt clarified. The weight of Kurt’s gaze never left him as he continued to navigate through the level. It was starting to feel heavier with each passing moment, but Sam did his best to maintain his easy composure. “Since when did you care so much about that?”

It was then that Sam finally paused the game, setting the controller on the coffee table. When he turned to finally direct his full attention towards Kurt, he noted that his friend’s own controller was also abandoned, left on the couch between them as Kurt instead leaned his arm against the back of the couch so that could prop his head up in his palm.

“I dunno,” Sam admitted, “guess it’s because you’re my friend.”

“Hmm,” was all that Kurt responded with. He looked back towards the television screen, allowing several quiet moments to pass just staring at the game’s pause screen. Sam had just begun to wonder if Kurt was going to say anything more when he finally picked the controller back up. “Go ahead and unpause it.”

Sam did as he was instructed, happily picking up his own controller once again and resuming their game.

Kurt was putting in effort once again. He wasn’t by any means a fantastic player or anything, but he held his own well enough. Even then, though, Sam could sense that something was tugging at Kurt’s focus — like he wanted to say something more but simply couldn’t.

Either that, or he was waiting for Sam to say something instead.

Well, in that case, Sam may as well rip off the bandage.

“Remember when we almost sang a duet together?” He asked suddenly, disrupting the quiet that had fallen between them.

Kurt didn’t respond for some time, the thick silence suddenly uncomfortable. Sam wondered, momentarily, if Kurt just hadn’t heard him. He was about ready to repeat his question once more when Kurt finally spoke up.

“Well, I’d say it’s pretty hard to forget,” he drew out, slowly. “I had a terribly obvious crush on you. It’s embarrassing to think about in retrospect.”

“Nah, don’t say that! It’s super flattering that a gay guy found me attractive.”

Kurt dispelled a soft breath that sounded like it came from a place of mild exasperation. “Thanks, Sam. I’m thrilled to know that my humiliating forwardness came with the added bonus of a boost to your ego.” Sam couldn’t help but grin at Kurt’s words. His friend had such a consistent, natural humor about him. It was easy to see why Blaine was so in love with him. “Finn was probably right about getting me to back out of the duet for you, though — even if I was mad at him at the time.”

Sam shrugged then. “I dunno about that. I kinda wish you hadn’t.”

Kurt’s character went to a complete stop on the screen and Sam could immediately feel the weight of Kurt’s eyes on him. “What do you mean by that?”

Sam went silent then, pretending to focus on collecting in-game treasure, though he would be lying if he tried to say that he was really in tune with what was happening on the screen before him anymore. Kurt must’ve picked up on it as well, for he paused the game for the both of them and set the controller down on the coffee table. “Sam? You can’t just leave me hanging. So come on, what did you mean by that?”

“I mean, I think I would’ve liked to do that duet with you.”

“What about the whole school potentially thinking you were gay? Wasn’t that like, a huge issue?”

“Maybe to Finn, it was. I never cared, personally. I think that it would’ve been cool. Plus there’s like, way bigger issues than two guys singing a duet together. Like, global warming. Or the fact that Terminator: Salvation didn’t feature Arnold Schwarzeneggar, which kinda worries me for the future of the entire franchise.”

That pulled a smile out of Kurt, which Sam always liked to see. Kurt spent a large portion of his time in high school seemingly pretty unhappy. Sam could recognize why, though — what with being the only gay kid in school and dealing with bullies as well always being overlooked in glee club, it made sense that those things would eventually get to Kurt. And it wasn’t really fair, because Kurt was so nice and caring. He didn’t deserve everything that’s happened to him.

“Point is, you didn’t have to ‘set me free’ or whatever it was that you were doing. I agreed to do the duet because I wanted to, y’know? I thought you were talented, that’s all there really was to it.”

Kurt hummed, momentarily averting his gaze as if in thought. Sam had come to realize that Kurt was a thinker. He liked that about him. It was clear that Kurt tried to choose his words carefully rather than just blurt out the first thing that came to mind. Sam should really consider picking up that habit sometime.

Eventually though, Kurt looked back at him, his expression inquisitive. “Where is this all coming from?” He asked.

To that, Sam didn’t have much of an answer. He had wanted to tell Kurt these things for awhile, he figured, but he was largely unsure why it was coming to the surface now.

He could dive deeper, but it would only cause complications. Sam liked Kurt, but he didn’t think it extended anywhere past a friendship. Or perhaps it did. But either way, Sam had never put much thought into his own identity before, and he didn’t think that sitting with Kurt on the couch in front of the Rayman Legends pause screen was the time to finally do so. Kurt had a boyfriend; one that is clearly enamored with him so it was best to stay out of the way of that.

Sam shrugged. “Just something I’ve been thinking about, I guess.”

With that, Sam stood from the sofa to instead crouch down near the Hudson-Hummel’s collection of game consoles. They could talk about that, but not today. Probably not tomorrow either. But someday, surely they would talk about that.

“Let’s play a different game, shall we?” He could feel the strange look that Kurt was giving him, but he ignored it. Instead, Sam sorted through the shelf of games before pulling one from its spot and waved it around a bit. “How do you feel about trying Mario Galaxy?”

This little discovery had showed me a different take of the Captain Laserhawk lore and probably will be answering some questions (or create more *I am creating more questions than ever and the anxiety to know*).

It looks like Anna Grimsdöttir got a role in Dolph past

For some that are not familiar who Anna Grimsdöttir is, she was an ally of Sam Fisher during The Splinter Cell games and books, she was the Communications Lead later Chief Technical Analyst for Third Echelon and then became Technical Operation Officer during her Fourth Echelon era. She provided Sam with technical support during his field work also adressing any high - technology issues and a skilled hacker.

In this panels we see how Dolph tells his story with Alex (Grim was the only lady who could Boss Alex and he would not complaint, that means the situation was bigger than anything) and suddenly Marcus is surprised by seeing Ana and mentions that she was part of the war (I assumed he was mentioning about the Wastelands War), who provided Intelligence and saved Sam and Marcus many times and after they Lost, she went missing, not knowing about her whereabouts...

Now with this little revelation, It looks like there more than meets the eye, I can't tell everything yet because It looks like I need to read the rest of the manga, but how the things are going, there will be many revelations that could unite the missing links of the series' lore and this could be a twist to some questions that are unaswered.

Remember the last episode where a Rayman was send a message about going to see Bullfrog? Some assume many characters that would had sent that messege, but now with seeing this revelation about Grim, I can believe she could have been the one who send it. It looks like Anna was willing to stop Eden, too and the reason why she and Alex were working together, also there is something curious about a dialogue of Alex telling Grim if Dolph is not able to do his part he could talk to the Arms Dealer Andy (some that are not familiar with the Splinter Cell lore would past it unnoticed, but if I am correct, or I am assuming many things, Alex would had been referring to Andriy Kobin, an arms dealer who was enemy of Sam Fisher during Splinter Cell Conviction, then a temporal ally in Splinter Cell Blacklist).

So... Here it is this little discovery and man, there is a lot to be reveal and to see this, brings me a Big joy to know that more Splinter Cell characters are around the Captain Laserhawk serie, meaning that that maybe Sam will have a bigger part in Dolph's role in Season 2 (I really hope so). 🥺🥺🥺💚🖤💚🖤💚🖤💚🖤

I have been trying to figure out some timeline stuff and how old Bullfrog is for too long because it's actually driving me insane

Like. Ok we know that Rayman obviously does not age like a human. He's looked and sounded the same for decades. He has been in this dimension since BEFORE America fell.

But then we get these details later where Rayman decides to sound like a grandpa and say "when I was your age" talking to Bullfrog. In the same meeting, Bullfrog also says he remembers watching Rayman on TV as a TADPOLE. Which you know really makes you wonder about some things

But like. How old IS Bullfrog. And no if you try to tell me he's like 20 I won't believe you LMAO

To put it into perspective, we need to look at other characters- We know that Sarah Fisher was a kid when Rayman was on TV and she seemed to be a young adult (?) by the time the Wasteland War ended. If you look at the website for the show, it'll mention how Jade's parents died during the war and Pey'j was left to raise her. It says he's known her since she was a baby, but the way they phrase it makes it unclear as to whether that's when Pey'j started taking care of her or not. It seems more likely to me that she'd be a baby OR a young child when this happens, so that's how old she is at that time.

BUT also on the website, it tells us that Bullfrog actually participated in the Wasteland War. So he had to have been an adult around that time, he must have been. So when you compare that to Jade, Bullfrog is definitely older than she is. I'm pretty sure it's been many years since the Wasteland War, I mean especially if Jade was younger at that time and she's all grown now.

Unless there's actually a specified amount of years since the Wasteland War? Maybe I'm missing that key info and I'm going off about incorrect things HEHEHFHGF feel free to lmk

Obviously Bullfrog isn't EXTREMELY old or anything but I don't think he's a young guy.

Oh rest assured I watched it. ❤️

Overall I really liked it. The animation was SWEET HONEY GOODNESS. Bobbypills pulled out the stops and it SHOWED. I loved all the style changes, I love the pixel art, I even enjoyed the VR stuff because it was unique and weird.

The voice acting was also TRES BON. Special round of applause for Rayman’s English VA because by god he had a job and a half and he NAILED IT. Also loved Marcus’s voice, and Bullfrog of course 💚 just a lot of very high quality work went into this and the voice acting was pretty much spot on from the first episode.

I will say the series felt rushed. I know it’s only 6 episodes but with the time they had there could have been some edits and cuts to keep things snappy while also freeing up time to spend with the main 4 (and the Warden) to cement their relationship.

Believe me I was happy to see so much Rayman but his story wasn’t the main focus and should never have been. We needed more time with Jade and Pey’j. If the Warden has this deep emotional story behind her that we’re supposed to buy into we need more time with her. Sarah and Dolph having a backstory chat in VR was too little too late.

But I will forgive a lot for some stuff they did so right:

Alex is such a dick and he was so much fun to watch. His and Dolph’s relationship was fascinating, and it was so cute watching them in the first episode being a couple and it felt so NATURAL.

RED IS A MASSIVE DOUCHE FUCK HIM XD But god was it fun to have such an open bigot be an antagonist.

All the weird propaganda Eden was using Rayman for. The Rayman Kids stuff was especially grim. I want a ‘I’m a Rayman Kid’ badge SO BAD YOU GUYS.

Bullfrog was such a charming boy. I loved every moment he was on screen. It clear he was the fave character of the team. I loved his relationship with Pey’j, and I hope (if s2 is a thing) that he gets to partner up with Rayman because THAT WOULD BE GLORIOUS

RAYMAN USES HIS LIMBLESSNESS AS A TACTIC. I lost my marbles when he raises his hands and one of them is missing. YES. BOBBYPILLS NAILED IT.

All the little pixel animations were just so joyous and delightful. Perfect.

All the alternative styles for the cut-aways. For the Rayman TV spots, and the VR episode looking like a Phantasmagoria let’s play, the crazy taxi/Driver mini game, just so well observed and suitable for the time. A++++

So yeah, I give the show my thumbs up. It’s obviously not for everyone and it is QUITE THE INTENSE RIDE AND NOT APPROPRIATE FOR KIDS, but I would recommend it as a quality animated work. I hope the people sharing that handful of weird Rayman screenshots on Twitter and going ‘WTF?!?!’ Actually give the series a chance.

Obviously I can discuss every tiny detail from every episode but that would take waaaaaay too long 😩. But thank you so much for asking!

Red didn't just randomly stumble into the room. He had a Reason for being there.

I've been in the Captain Laserhawk fandom for a little while now. And I have noticed there seems to be some confusion as to why Red suddenly burst into the room while Rayman and Bullfrog were talking. I don't know why. For me it was fairly simple, I figured it out a little while after my first viewing. And got confirmed by the show after my second watch through.

Red was hunting down Rayman, to kill him. As per Eden's direct orders.

But I can understand why people may have missed it. The audience had no time to process the comments made by Red in those moments, because of previous emotionally charged scenes. But the comments were there.

In episode 5, when Red first enters the room. One of the first things he says is that he was looking for him. Looking for Rayman. And it appears that he had been looking for a while, since Bullfrog and Rayman were able to have quite a long conversation without any interruptions. And if Red had been hunting him down for what I assume to be hours, it would explain why he was so panicked when he lost sight of Rayman. Because how is he suppose to explain to his superiors that he managed to let Rayman of all people escape?

And later in episode 6, Red and Pink have an argument. Pink stating that she would never have let someone like Rayman escape. That she would have got the job done. Which means Red wasn't the only one was told to carry out this order, all the Ninji 6 were seemly told this same order. But unsurprisingly, Red was the one who volunteered for the mission. Or what I think is more likely, was chosen out the bunch, because they knew for a fact he would have had no problems with killing Rayman. He may even enjoy it.

But, I hear people asking. Why would Eden want Rayman dead? And why send a single Ninji 6 member, when they could have gotten the whole team, or send out an entire police squad, or even done it themselves?

That first question is easy to answer. There can't be two Raymans. The system only works with one. And it's best to keep the unquestionably loyal Rayman, then the one who's loyalty may be put into question. Best to get rid of him before he becomes a problem.

As for the second question. Eden doesn't want the general public knowing about this. Rayman is a beloved icon in Eden, if the people knew that Eden would do this to Rayman. People would be rioting, it would be the beginning of an uprising that even Eden won't be able to control. So they have to do it secretly, make sure people don't notice. And sending the police would be too noticeable, and anyway regular cops are apart of the general population. So you need to send the special force, people who already know the truth about how things work in Eden. But they can't send the whole team, because the team are celebrities themselves, paraded around as Eden heroes. And if people notice them, which they most definitely will, it will ruin not only their image, but Eden's as well. So they select only one of them, a member who they know would have no problems in completing the mission. And it would have worked out perfectly if it wasn't for a traitor within the board.

As to why they don't do it themselves? Most of them are lazy, happy to just sit in their nice little meeting room and let everyone else do the hard work. And the one person who isn't, has her own goals which involved keeping Rayman alive.

TL;DR

Red was sent by Eden to Kill Rayman, because there can only be one Rayman for the system to function. And they only sent Red, because they didn't want the general population knowing as it could lead to them revolting. And they were too lazy to do it themselves.

"The heart of the world has corrupted, Polokus has become inactive, and a deadly infection has run rampant. It is altering the lums of the world, making them sick. Many have taken matters into their own hands, while many of the Glade's heros have fallen ill to the sickness. There is no clear solution, but many have a feeling that a certain missing nymph may have the answer. Polokus needs his muse back; they just need to find her."

The infection impacts thingamajigs differently from other creatures of the Glade. Most being (dream and nightmare) turn to mossy stone statues. Others, like the nymphs, are conditionally immune.

Your efforts were admirable , but eventually after a few minutes your head fell back on the pillow and you ended up falling asleep .

That series of rough kisses kept on going for quite a while , you now laying down on the couch with Ramon on top of you , until eventually you both pulled up to catch your breath .

You stared at him in awe , and he couldn’t help but smile while caressing your cheek with one hand .

< I … no , but it wasn’t unwelcome … >

Your expression softened when your hand lightly touched his bandaged waist …

< Are … are you sure you don’t wanna take some time to recover before doing this , my love ?

Your sentence met an abrupt end when Ramon decided to lower his head and leave a  small bite on your neck .
