𖦹°⭒˚。⋆ how/when they first realized that they're in love with you ⋆。𖦹°‧
ft. Tighnari, Wanderer, and Xiao
★ I can't remember if this was a request or not, but I found this draft from last June and I couldn't let it go to waste, so here's this! :D
★ No content warnings that I can think about. Just fluff and the boys not knowing how to cope with catching feels lmao
𝗧𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗻𝗮𝗿𝗶 " 𝗩𝗲𝗿𝗱𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗿 "
★ Tighnari is extremely in tune with himself: this includes his feelings, his body, and his thoughts. And yet, he finds that around you, everything gets mixed up into one big puddle of goo. Whenever you weren’t watching, his observant eyes were trained on you. He’d analyze you like a foreign species of flora, trying to pick apart what about you made his heart pound in his ears, what made him stutter and blush like a lovesick teenager, what caused the ache in his chest whenever you weren’t nearby. He’s considered the thought of having a crush on you, but each time, he’d simply brush it off as a hormone imbalance or try to rationalize it as a perfectly normal reaction.
★ Realizing his love for you felt like a double take. “Oh.” and then “Oh.” It’s a split second that changes his entire perspective, and it hits him in the most random of times. He could be pressing flowers and then smile at the realization that those were your favorite flowers. Or maybe he’s jotting down notes and finds himself writing a few letters the same way you do. It could even be something as small as looking up at the sky and wondering if you saw the same shape in the clouds that he did.
★ Once he realizes he’s in love with you, everything makes sense. The puddle of goo slowly melts away and everything feels okay again, and the clarity of everything hits him like a truck. He needs to say something. Tighnari is a man of action. He thinks before he speaks, but he speaks before you can think. He’d take a moment to think about what he would say, but then he’s standing right in front of you with rosy cheeks and a determined look on his face. And then finally, he’d say those three special words to you--
- 𖦹 -
“You’re a pain.” Tighnari couldn’t help but sigh as he crossed his arms, looking at you up and down with a tired expression. Yet, a faint smile tugged at his lips as he watched you struggle with a particularly invasive type of vine. You’re tangled in it like a bug in a spiderweb, a defeated look on your face as you hang limply from the vines.
You groan, crossing your arms as you glare at him. The sight of him looking at you so smugly made you want to slap him and possibly kiss him. Maybe not in that order though. “I am no such thing! I’m just-- ugh…” The vines dug into your skin as they held you by your ankle, and you sighed in defeat before reaching out to him. His fluffy ears twitched with delight at the way you frowned so adorably, and he swiftly used an arrow to cut the vine, catching you when you fell. However, he clearly didn't think this through all the way. As he held you, watching your expression shift from relief to shock to a mixture of embarrassment and bashfulness, his own eyes widened and a warm blush spread over his cheeks, his fluffy ears twitching whilst his tanned skin continued to redden.
Oh.
Oh.
Tighnari was dead silent when he put you down, and he briskly turned around before starting to walk away. “Wait! Don’t just leave me here!” You sighed, starting to swiftly follow him, doing your best to ignore the way your heart pounded. The walk back was painfully awkward, your attempts at conversation followed by dry responses if a response at all. And eventually, you had enough! The way he refused to meet your gaze, how his hands clenched at his sides just to make sure they didn’t touch yours, he was avoiding you like the plague despite being right beside you. And so, you pivoted on your heel until you stood right before him.
“Okay, what’s with you? Ever since the vine thing, you’re acting like I did something wrong! Did…did I do something wrong?” Your confused and hurt expression made his heart ache, and Tighnari couldn’t help but shake his head fervently-- the way his ears bounced with each movement would have been adorable had it not been for the hurt you felt. Tighnari’s cheeks blushed a soft red, his multicolored eyes trained on you in a serious manner. It looked like he was about to scold you, with his serious frown and crossed arms, so you mentally prepared yourself for yet another lecture.
“No, you’ve done nothing wrong. Well, getting tangled in the vines was rather stupid,” You bit the inside of your cheek, resisting the urge to say it wasn’t your fault, but he continued regardless. “But, I’m grateful you did. Had it not been for your adorably clumsy nature, I would not have had the chance to catch you in my arms.” As your eyes widened, a small smirk tugged at his lips and he took a step towards you. “And if I hadn’t held you so close, I don’t think I would have realized this just yet.” Tighnari seemed to trail off on this annoying cliffhanger, and you sighed before looking up at him.
“...Realized what?” As if he’d been waiting for you to ask, he leaned close- close enough that his hair tickled your nose and his lips brushed against your ear as he whispered:
“That you have me foolishly, hopelessly smitten.”

𝗪𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗿 " 𝗞𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗸𝘂𝘇𝘂𝘀𝗵𝗶 "
★ It took him ages to realize he loved you. No seriously, it would take years. Some part of him knew you were special, but he could never figure out why. Was it the way your smile made him anxious? Or perhaps the way your voice made his face heat up with-... with rage? Maybe it was the way every little thing reminded him of you, like an annoying bug that wouldn’t go away. Yet, he found that none of these things were actually…bad. He loved your smile, the way it made his artificial heart race. He adored your voice, the way it made him blush so heavily. And he absolutely loved the way everything reminded him of you, like some part of you was always with him. It took him a while to realize he did actually like you, and not hate you. And then after that, it took even longer to realize he loved you.
★ Realizing he was in love with you felt like a nightmare. It was a panic, a moment of weakness. Him? Love? Please, what a sick joke. Yet…after the panic subsided, he found his heart reaching out to you who he adored so dearly. You would understand, wouldn’t you? Surely you, who had the patience of a mother, would understand his pathetic feelings? Or would you turn him away, and leave him behind yet again? He’d spend days agonizing over the what if’s though he tried not to. He was too prideful to admit someone like you could reduce him to a total mess. The amount of questions circling his brain only served to make him angrier, and he swallowed back his fears for just long enough to shout a very upset sounding “I THINK I LOVE YOU.” Honestly, it almost sounded like he was cursing at you.
★ In summary, Wanderer is an emotional mess. His hundreds of years alive have been dedicated to anything but his feelings. He was destined for something greater than human emotions in his mind. However, when he sees the way your face shifts from shock to a relieved happiness, he realized maybe this was his destiny all along. Maybe loving you, who made him truly feel, was the divine purpose he was meant for all along.
- 𖦹 -
A chill ran down your spine for the fifth time in the past few minutes, and your eyes awkwardly shifted to the ground. He has been staring at you for a creepy amount of time, but it wasn’t his usual glare- and somehow, that only serves to make you more nervous. You gulped thickly, drumming your fingers over your arm before your head snapped to him, and you raised an eyebrow.
“Okay, what is it?” In response, Wanderer simply shrugged. Gods, he could be so infuriating. You could feel your eyebrow twitch as you gritted your teeth, resting a hand on your hip. “I see, so you’ve been staring at me for five minutes just for fun?” Once again, he shrugged. The faintest shade of red dusted the tips of his ears, and his hands limply rested in the pockets of his shorts. You could see the way he turned his head, hiding it behind his intricately-detailed hat. The sight of his blushed ears made your eyes narrow, and you reached out to grab his wrist- causing him to let out a curse. Finally, a reaction!
Wanderer looked down at your hand on his wrist, and then back up at you. And then down to his wrist before he tugged his hand away. Though, he found that he quickly missed the feeling of your soft hand warming his cold skin. The way his hand subconsciously reached out to hold yours once more made him scoff and he shoved his hand back in his pocket, quickly looking away. “What’s the big idea, huh?” His indigo eyes crinkled when he snarled, but a certain glitter swirled within them that made you smile knowingly. Wanderer leaned forward, flicking your forehead when you didn’t respond. He did this a lot, and always smiled at the way you yelped and/or pouted. But this time, his smile wasn’t mocking or amused, but oddly…endearing?
“You’ve only insulted me three times today!! Come on, we both know something’s up.” You rolled your eyes, crossing your arms- and you didn’t miss the way he mirrored your expression.
He sighed, shaking his head before looking up at you. “You really wanna know? Really?” His arms crossed as his wide-brimmed hat cast a shadow over his face, but even through the dark, you could see a blush begin to coat his pale cheeks. When you nodded, he sighed again, leaning close to you. “You’re making my head do weird shit and I don’t like it one bit.” Your confused expression made him groan as he tried to explain further. “Come on, don’t play stupid!! I keep having these…gross and cheesy thoughts about you whenever you get close. And the way you smile…it makes me…happy.” He spoke the word with such disgust, it almost made you laugh. “When I see your hand, I want to crush- no, hold it…” The more he spoke, the more those dark eyes softened until they were nothing more than pools of indigo honey. But sadly, he snapped out of it, growling in frustration and grabbing your shoulders. “S--So what’re you doing to me, huh?! What, are you some kind of witch? Do you enjoy making me feel this weird?!”
The more you processed his words, the more you smiled. Slowly, your head tilted to the side and you laughed, shaking your head when his blush only worsened. “Wanderer…do you lik--” He quickly slapped a hand over your mouth, squeezing his eyes shut before shouting-
“I THINK I’M IN LOVE WITH YOU OR SOMETHING, OKAY?!”

★ Realizing his love for you felt like a insult. He figured that his romantic feelings towards you were just…a glitch in the matrix. There was something about you that made his heart do backflips, and he did not like it. And so, he avoided you like the plague. But, distance makes the heart grow fonder after all. With each moment that passed without you beside him, he only felt lonelier. Even despite his eons of solitude, a mere moment without you felt like another thousand years. And so, one lonely night, you call out his name. And there he is, red faced and wide eyed, standing before your teary eyes.
★ He didn’t want to admit he was in love with you. Could he, The Conqueror of Demons, feel something as human as…love? Did he even deserve to? And so, the mere thought of falling in love with you felt almost insulting to him. It was a shock, something that almost angered him. He shouldn’t feel these things! But…if it wasn’t meant to be, then why does he like it? Why does he love the way his face heats up when you smile up at him? Why does he love the way you make him blush and laugh like a fool? Why does he love the way he loves you? Ultimately, he decides these questions are futile. Slowly, his feeling of betrayal and offense morphed into a feeling of fondness. And even slower, he’d finally brush the dust off of the lonely heart he’d safely sealed away behind the armor of his ribs.
★ He didn’t want to tell you at first. He didn’t know how to tell you. Despite that, after the realization of his feelings, he just couldn’t wait! He felt like an impatient child, bouncing on his feet and biting the insides of his cheeks. But, when you rested a reassuring hand on his shoulder at the sight of his pensive face, he knew it would all be okay. As you gave him the sweetest smile he’s ever seen, he understood his feelings for the first time. For Xiao, falling in love with you was a confusing, terrifying process full of heartache and betrayal. But, loving you? God, it was the easiest thing he’d ever done.
- 𖦹 -
You’ve never seen him so anxious before. It was oddly unsettling, to be honest. Watching him shift his gaze every few seconds like a guilty child, the way his fingers fiddled with the material of his pants, even his scowl looked more like a nervous frown. Slowly, you set your pencil down, looking up at him with a concerned gaze from where you watched him pace around the inn. “Xiao, are you oka-”
“YES.”
You deadpanned for a moment, wanting to be amused at his immediate answer that contradicted his expression of pure nerves. Instead, you were only more worried. Slowly, your hands pushed against the table to prop you up and your shoes glided over the wooden floor before you were an arm’s length away from him. Xiao sighed slowly, resting his hands on the sill of the balcony with his head tilted away from you. This is a common occurrence for the both of you. Standing on the balcony, resting on it while watching the sun set. It was calming for both of you, but also made it much easier to discuss feelings neither of you liked. Past memories, traumas, bad days, any and all of it. But this…this was different.
“...No, I’m not.” Ah, there it is. Xiao’s eyes averted from yours, trained on the sky above the both of you as his hands gripped at the wooden sill. Patiently, you watched him, awaiting his next words. He was tense, and in all the time you’ve known him, you hadn’t seen him this afraid since the fall of Rex Lapis. Slowly, his head tilts to meet your gaze. His eyes were wide, glimmering in the fading sunlight while his pale skin carried a rosy tint that reached all the way to his elven ears.
You smiled gently, reaching over to pat his shoulder- he still tensed, but it was nothing like before. He wasn’t one to let people touch him. Not even you, not at first. He would flinch, shove your hand away, and move from you- always the same actions in different orders. But, over time, he started to relax under your touch. This time was no different as he let out a small sigh.
“There’s something bothering me.” Xiao spoke slowly, his voice gruff and low but also hesitant. “I feel…weird around you. I’ve heard of these feelings in those stories told by Liyuen romantics, how one’s heart flutters around those they…love. But I’m not…capable of that.” He continued on this spiel, and your eyes widened at the way he indirectly confessed to you. But, even as a wobbly smile overtook your lips, you remained quiet. “I’m a Yaksha, an adepti, I-I can’t feel something like this. And yet, I am. I am, and I don’t know how to feel about it.”
Xiao groaned, raking a hand through his hair before he turned to you, a small frown on his lips when you rested a gentle hand on his shoulder. You hummed softly, scooting closer before resting a head on his shoulder. “I feel the same way, Xiao. You may be an adeptus, but you still experience human emotions. Feelings confuse all of us, even adepti like you and humans like me. But, there’s no need to be afraid of them.” Your voice is nearly a whisper, letting your eyes flutter shut as his hand shakily reaches over to hold yours. He sucks in a quick breath, letting out a slow exhale before whispering:
“In that case…I think I’m in love with you.”

𝜗𝜚 A Picture of a Cat.
Spencer Reid x Fem!reader
Moontober Masterlist
Summary: After months of emailing back and forth, you finally meet the person you've been chatting with every day. Then you realize that Spencer is not just a girl's name.
Words: 2,7k.
TW: forensic!reader. with spencer of the early seasons very much in love in mind. the reader has a cat and has little faith in men (literally me, sorry). SO MUCH chaos and maybe lack of communication but happy ending. english isn't my first language (sorry for my mistakes, be kind please).
Note: This is pretty chaotic and not particularly serious😭 It might be best not to try to make sense of it. They're just two idiots in love, really.
♡ Enjoy! ♡
To say that Spencer was dying of nervousness was not enough to describe his true feelings.
From the moment he woke up this morning without any mail from you in his inbox, he began to feel that his day was going wrong and that it was becoming an endless nightmare. He had lost count of all the times he had checked his mail at work, hoping to see even a one-line message from you to calm his anxiety.
As someone who had received your good morning every day without fail for the last four months that you had been talking to each other daily, he was completely taken aback and couldn't quite put his finger on why. Perhaps he had said something to offend you, or maybe you were just not feeling the spark anymore. But astonishingly, none of your numerous emails that he had taken the time to reread on the jet indicated any cause for concern.
Everything had been so positive with you recently, and he was grateful to have someone to talk to, even if it was through a computer, every time he finished a challenging case and his mind just wanted to focus on something else. He found great comfort in reading about your day and your thoughts every morning, as if it were his newspaper. Even the pictures you always sent him of your cat sleeping in cute poses, eating, or doing anything else made him smile and gave him the idea of adopting a pet, even when he had never thought about the possibility of it before. You always helped him realize some desires he hadn't previously considered.
But suddenly he didn't have any of it. Nothing at all.
Reid's gaze fell once upon the computer on his desk, and his face was illuminated by its light as he reopened his email page for what might have been the thousandth time that day. His fingers tapped over and over on his knee in an attempt to calm his nerves as the page loaded at a slow pace. He took the opportunity to look at the time on the clock hanging on the wall in front of him. It was ten o'clock at night, and yet, once again, there was no trace of you among his messages.
His heart stopped for a second when he suddenly felt a hand on his shoulder, and he had to close the page he had opened on his computer at full speed before he could even realize who it was.
“Hey, take it easy, kid.” Derek said gently, removing his hand from his shoulder and stepping back a step. His eyes fell on the computer screen, and he was intrigued. “What were you watching?” He asked, with a playful smile.
“N-nothing.” Spencer's voice trembled beyond his control, and he quickly rose from his chair, trying to shield the computer with his body.
You had been his best-kept secret for quite some time, and he was content with that. He enjoyed the idea of maintaining a certain level of privacy in that aspect of his life, as something just between you two. It was more special and romantic that way.
“Nothing? Is that what they call those things now?” Derek inquired, his tone teasing but not unkind. The boy blushed a little, unsure why. “I must admit I'm surprised.”
Reid had to think for a few seconds to figure out what his colleague was talking about, but even before he could understand, Morgan had started speaking again.
“Anyway, turn that off.” He said, pointing to the computer and settling his bag over his shoulder, ready to go. “Someone's waiting for you in the boardroom.”
Almost automatically, Spencer frowned and watched him, waiting for him to provide more information or at least laugh if he was making a joke. However, that didn't occur. Derek didn't laugh at him or anything of that nature.
“Go, Reid. It might be best not to keep the girl waiting.” He gave his friend a gentle pat on the shoulder and a reassuring smile before heading off on the way to the elevator.
A girl? Waiting for him? How?
Spencer took a moment to collect his thoughts, attempting to grasp the meaning behind Derek's words and the circumstances surrounding the supposed visitor. With a measured pace, he stepped away from his desk and proceeded down the hallway, heading for the boardroom with a contemplative demeanor.
As he opened the door and cautiously stepped inside, he was met with the most glorious sight of his life, the one he had waited so long for, the one that now quickened his pulse and seemed to bring him back to life after feeling dead all day.
You.
Standing at the table, looking intently at the various maps and data scattered around the round table in the center of the room. So deep in thought that you were not even aware of his presence. As pretty as in the pictures of you that he had seen.
He couldn't help but let out a little "oh my" at the sight of you. His heart was pounding so hard he thought he could hear it from across the room, or maybe his ears were just ringing from the blood rushing to his head. Reid stood still, looking at you, amazed. He could see how the light touched your hair and how you bit your lip as you concentrated on organizing the papers and a folder in your hand. It was real. It had to be real.
“Hi.” His voice suddenly startled you, making you realize that you were no longer alone and that the door was now open.
You look up from the documents you are examining and see him by chance. It takes you a moment to realize that he works there, and only by the FBI badge in his pants pocket.
“Hi.” You responded after giving him a very obvious visual scan.
Your voice.
It was the first time he'd heard you speak, and it was just as he'd imagined it would be.
“I’m-” You extended your hand in a cordial manner to introduce yourself, but he interrupted.
“I know who you are.” He spoke quickly, smiling at you. “I...I...you are...” Reid cursed himself for stuttering the sentence as his tongue suddenly felt too heavy in his mouth.
“Okay…I'm waiting for someone.” You said it politely, but your tone showed your anxiety.
Oh, you didn't know it was him.
Spencer let out a laugh to relieve the growing tension, but it came out sounding like a cough. He wanted to hit himself. Why was he acting like a child? He was an agent, for God's sake. His job was to talk to complete strangers every day and do entire profiles without getting nervous. He found it hard to understand how that was changing so much now. He took a deep breath and forced himself to speak more clearly.
“Yes, I know.” He replied, sounding a bit nervous. His voice was a little shaky, as if he was straining to get the words out.
“Do you know if this person is coming?” You were standing there with your arms crossed, trying to see if anyone else was coming after him.
At that moment, a look of confusion came over his face. It had not even crossed your mind that it might be him. And although it was to be expected and totally understandable since you had never seen a picture of him, Spencer still felt a twinge of pain and insecurity inside. Perhaps you expected him to look different, or at least not look like a kid playing federal agent.
Maybe it would have been helpful if he had sent you a picture of himself when you sent yours. That way, you might have had a better idea of what to expect. But you were very understanding of his insecurities and lack of comfort with the photos at the time. So he thought everything would be fine anyway…he was so wrong.
He cleared his throat and took a deep breath before speaking up. “Actually, it's me.” He said, rubbing the back of his neck and trying to hide how nervous he was, with little success.
As soon as he said it, you looked surprised, your mouth slightly open, and then you laughed.
“That's pretty funny.” You said it with a slightly uncomfortable smile. When you realized he wasn't laughing, you added, “Good joke.”
Seeing your reaction, Spencer felt the urge to shrink back and disappear, as if that action could erase the last few seconds of your memory and also erase the feeling he suddenly had of having screwed up in an unfamiliar way. He felt his chest tighten as you asked him again if the person you were waiting for was coming. Was it so hard to believe that he was the person you were talking to? The one who earned your trust and affection?
“I spent several hours on a plane, so please let me know if your colleague is coming.” You spoke again, your tone conveying a hint of disappointment and fatigue. “If I'm a nuisance and Spencer doesn't want to see me, I'd appreciate knowing that.”
Hearing you say his first name gave him an unexpected shiver. It sounded so pleasant and intimate. He took another deep breath and forced herself to speak clearly.
“Wait, he does want to see you.” He paused for a moment, realizing he sounded a bit ridiculous. “I mean, I do. I'm Spencer.”
You're momentarily taken aback, unsure if the guy in front of you is joking. His nervous expression suggests otherwise, and you even entertain the possibility that he might be crazy.
Oh my goodness, you were all alone on a practically empty floor of the FBI offices with an insane agent.
“Just let me know if she's coming or not, please.” You said, taking a few steps back to be at a safe distance from him.
His mouth was so dry he could only manage a soft, hoarse whisper. “She? Did you think I was a girl?”
“You?” You furrowed your brow, feeling more confused and uneasy.
At last, he had a suggestion and reached into his pocket to retrieve his badge, holding it out to you in a gesture that seemed to convey innocence.
“I’m Spencer Reid.” He said, his voice betraying a hint of awkwardness as he was caught off guard by the peculiar turn of events.
You looked at the badge, confused, and slowly looked up, looking into his eyes closely for the first time. You studied his face intently, not really believing it.
“Are you Spencer? My Spencer?” You asked.
When you said “my,” he felt a flutter in his chest. His brain was trying to tell him not to get too invested in the moment, but the vulnerable part of him was moved by the way you said it, like he was all yours. There was a special air of affection there that he liked.
“Yes.” He replied, almost in a whisper. “I am.”
You had to take a moment to process the information, eyes glued to his as you tried to make sense of it. Little by little, you come to understand. This was the person you had been talking to every day for months—the person with whom you had shared your fears, stories, and dreams. Yet you hadn't even asked him for a picture or a call—anything that would have made you realize that he wasn't a woman. It seems almost unreal to you to have fallen into such a confusion.
“I sent pictures of my cat to a man?!” Was the first thing you thought, and it managed to come out of your mouth clearly, in an indignant tone. “I said you were my soulmate!”
Now you were the one who sounded insane.
He stood there for a few moments, looking at you and seeing the different emotions on your face. When he finally spoke, his voice had a hint of insecurity in it.
“Yes…but your cat is cute, and you take good pictures.” He scratched the back of his neck, looking a bit nervous. “Did you know that the evocative power of images is widely studied? They can help us verbalize and even rescue forgotten memories and stories from our collective memory and-” He silences himself. “Sorry.”
When he fell silent, your brain couldn't do the same, and thousands of hard-to-filter words began to appear. You had a strange feeling in your chest, a mixture of familiarity with the way his ramblings sounded to you, just like the emails you loved so much, and confusion about the whole situation.
“This is so strange.” You said to yourself, pacing around the room a couple of times. “I was so stupid-”
He observed you with great interest, trying to discern the thoughts and feelings that were likely swirling in your mind. He could empathize with your confusion, as he was also uncertain about the circumstances. He couldn't blame you for feeling bewildered. You had embarked on your journey with the expectation of meeting a girl named Spencer, but instead, you encountered him. You had envisioned a lovely girl, and you found him—a simple individual, a nerd who had been told on numerous occasions that nerds lacked charm.
“No. You're not.” He said, attempting to manage his desire to bridge the gap and offer solace. “It was a misunderstanding. I should have provided you with more information.”
“How would you even start a conversation by saying you were a man?” You let out a laugh to yourself. “I would have stopped talking to you instantly.”
The sentence hit him right in the heart.
The two of you had the opportunity to communicate by mail when your boss asked you to send reports on several of the autopsies with similarities you had done to the BAU. It was then that a picture of your cat was sent in the middle of the files. Spencer was the one who received it and made an attempt at a joke after your long apology. And then another, and another, until you ended up talking for four months until now.
But if you had known from the beginning that he wasn't a woman, you wouldn't have bothered to get to know him at all.
“I...I don't know what to tell you..” He admitted, sounding a little more vulnerable. “But why did you think I was a woman?”
After a moment's thought, you said. “Your name made me think of a girl I knew in college. And you...you were so nice and sweet in your emails that I found it hard to believe that a man could be like that through a screen.”
When you shared how you perceived him through his emails, it seemed that a certain vulnerability came to light. The situation had turned the tables, and now he was the one standing there trying to process the information.
“I thought I finally had a friend. You know what my job is like...and yours is just as all-consuming.” You spoke again, having to sit for a moment in one of the chairs in the place, trying to calm down. “It would've been great to have someone who understood me as a friend.”
He felt a pang in his heart at your words and was instantly reminded of the times you'd confided in him about how isolated you felt in your lab, surrounded by dead people and computers.
“You can still do that.” He replied without thinking. “I’m still the same person as before, just different packaging.”
For you, it was much more than that. First of all, you trusted him in the beginning because you thought he was a girl; that's why he understood you so much and you had that special connection.
Hell, you'd even told him how bad your period was, and he'd understood so well. He'd given you tips and facts that you didn't know that were beyond your expectations of what the average man knew.
“I mean, I'm still someone you can talk to.” He continued, his hands moving nervously in his pockets. “Unless you...unless you don't feel that way anymore.”
When you finally spoke, your voice sounded almost whispery and gentle. He couldn’t help but lift his gaze from the floor to you, feeling how his body relaxed just a bit with the soft sound of your voice.
“No, no. I still want to talk to you…if you’re my Spencer.”
“I am, all yours.” He replied with a smile.

a/n: hi guys. this is much different than what I promised you last time I posted and it's a lot different than what i usually post but i've been struggling so intensely with my depression and anxiety and genuinely the only thing that's gotten through it is "you can't kill yourself yet, you haven't seen daredevil born again" so i guess this is a fic about that lmao warnings: massive trigger warning for depression and suicidal thoughts, like just. pretty much the entire fic is the reader wanting to die and having bad mental health. besides maybe some cursing (but i cant recall) that's pretty much it. word count: 2.1k summary: the devil of hell's kitchen talks you off a ledge (literally) pairing: matt murdock x gn!reader now playing: call your mom - noah kahan "medicate, meditate, save your soul for jesus/throw a punch, fall in love, give yourself a reason/don't wanna drive another mile without knowin' you're breathin'"
You are the light in a dark room for so many people.
You are the glue of your friend group—Constantly planning hangouts, constantly responding to text messages, you’re always there for people.
You visit the bodega at the corner every morning for a large coffee and to pet the bodega cat.
You bring donuts in to work every Friday, for no reason other to bring joy to people’s lives.
You have every reason to live.
You…
Are standing on the ledge of your building, wondering if you’d pass out before you hit the ground.
You’ve dealt with depression for years. It’s been an uphill battle since you were eleven, maybe even earlier. And it goes through phases—Sometimes, you just coexist with it. It lives in the corner of your brain, where a lamp or a soulmate should be. You know it’s with you, but sometimes it just sits on your shoulder, observing.
Other times, it shackles you. It weighs you down, pulling you down under the crashing waves, and every time you pull yourself up to breath, it drags you down faster, more relentlessly.
It’s an intense unfortune that you could blame on any number of things, and you have tried.
But things have been bad recently.
And it’s not that your life is particularly hard right now—There’s no looming deadlines, your relationships are all fine, you thought you were happy, really, but one day you woke up.. unable to come up with a reason.
For as long as you can remember, you’ve found a reason. For a long time you thought, no, I couldn’t do that to my mom. Then, you said if you could just make it to college, everything would be easier. And then, you figured if you could make it to New York City, you’d be able to cope with things.
And it worked for a while, but—
“Hey,” A voice says from behind you, “hey, just—take a step back.” The voice says, and you tilt your head back, trying to look at who has interrupted you in this vulnerable moment.
“Go away,” You demand, your voice harsh as you realize you are not dealing with just any old witness- The Devil of Hell’s Kitchen stands behind you.
You know all about him. He popped up a year or two before you moved to the city, and you’ve always kind of daydreamed about him saving you—You’ve seen pictures and videos of him, glimpses of him.. But they’re just fleeting moments of a silly crush.
“You know I can’t do that,” He says, his voice getting closer. “I won’t do that.”
Then you feel tears in your eyes. Nothing can be easy, can it?
“Please,” You beg, “I’m not hurting anyone, I just.. want it to stop.”
“You are hurting someone. You’re about to hurt yourself and I won’t let that happen.” But he knows you won’t step away. And he doesn’t want to tackle you off the ledge.
“Please,” You say again, a shaky hand wiping your cheek, your heartbeat thumping out of your chest. You don’t want to die. You just don’t want to be in pain anymore.
“Let’s just sit,” he offers, his voice much closer to you now. “You don’t have to get off the ledge, just sit.” He requests.
“Look, devil man, I really don’t want you to give me some speech about how life is worth living, okay? Just—”
“We don’t have to talk about why you’re up here,” he says, “We can just sit.” From the corner of your eye, you see him sitting next to where you stand, his legs dangling over the edge.
He offers you a hand to help you sit down.
You take it.
And you’re not even sure why, because you don’t want to talk to this man, no matter how you admire what he does to other people. You sit next to him, and you feel yourself getting pulled down again, unable to breathe. Static fills your brain, repeating horrible things, telling you that everything for everyone would be easier if you just—
“Have you ever considered that Dr. Pepper could be a woman?”
“What?” You blink, now looking at him. What a ridiculous thing to say to a person who was about to kill themselves?
“Well, have you?”
“Uh.. No.” You answer, your face still twisted in confusion. “No, I’ve never considered that.”
“I always hear about people talking about this hypothetical doctor behind the soda, and they always refer to them as a man. Kind of messed up,” He shrugs.
“I don’t understand,” You respond honestly.
“I told you we didn’t have to talk about why you were up here, but I never said anything about not talking at all.”
You suppose he has a point.
“Okay.” You answer, feeling awkward now.
“Have you lived in the City long?” He wonders aloud.
“No,” You find yourself echoing the same story you’ve told a thousand times. “No, I moved here about a year ago.”
“Do you like it?”
Your stomach churns.
“Yeah.” You’re having a hard time being more descriptive than that.
“Have you been to see any good shows?” he asks, “Oh, have you seen Wicked?”
You’re confused again. You glance back at him. The Devil of Hell’s Kitchen is asking you if you’ve seen a Broadway musical about The Wicked Witch of the West. Much like the question about Dr. Pepper, you’re just extremely caught off guard, because it seems so out of character.
“Not in years.” You answer, “I saw it with my mom when I was younger.”
“Well you should see it again.” He said, “It’s really good, even better than you remember.” He promises.
“Why are you talking about this?” You answer, and he sighs.
“The confusion is on purpose,” He confesses, “I heard somewhere that if you can just distract someone having an episode, it might pull them out of it.”
You do feel.. better.. You suppose. You’ve been pulled above water, able to breathe, because in your confusion, there was no room for any static or bad thoughts to get in. Maybe better is a strong word, but there’s an absence of all of the intense thoughts that distracted you.
“Oh.. Thank you.” Is all you find yourself saying.
“I’m gonna go back on my promise,” he starts, “I need to ask you why you feel like this is your only option.”
Your shoulders fall a bit, remembering everything.
“You’re a liar.”
“Just try.”
“I don’t want to.”
“Have you ever tried it?”
“Tried what?”
“Verbalizing it, saying it all out loud?”
Well, now you feel silly. Very silly. You know a therapist might help, but you’ve been busy. And—
“You have your own problems,” You start, “I can’t ask you to take on my problems, too.”
“I asked you to talk about it,” he responds, “Besides, we don’t even know each other. You’re not burdening me, I promise.” And you’re inclined to believe him.
So, you take a deep breath and search for your words.
“I just can’t find a reason.” You start. “I’ve always been able to find a reason before, a reason to keep going, to push ahead, but..” You blink. “I just can’t find it. I’ve gone through all my usuals.”
“What about your mom?” he asks, recalling your earlier comment about him.
“She was the reason for a long time.” You confess, “But she has my stepdad now. Everyone’s taken care of. My friends, my siblings, my mom.. The only one who’s alone is me.”
The Devil doesn’t say it, but his heart aches for you.
“People would miss you,” he recalls his own depression, “They’d grieve you as intensely as they love you.” He reminds, and you know that.
“They’d find a way to move on.” You reason, “They’d have to figure it out.”
“How long have you been dealing with these feelings?”
“As long as I can remember.” You respond, “I thought if I could survive my childhood, it would stop. Moving here, that was supposed to be the end, but..” You frown. “After the honeymoon phase, I’m just back in that hole.”
“There’s ways to get you out of that hole,” He promises.
“How?” You demand, tears filling your eyes, “Tell me a reason I should keep going that I haven’t heard, that I haven’t thought, that actually gets through to me,” You ask.
He pauses. It’s a tall order.
“You know there’s no magical cure.” He starts, “But you find the little things. You can’t find any big reason to live? Fine. Find the small reasons,” He reasons, “The way sun feels on your skin, your favorite team winning a game, a homecooked meal.”
“Give me a big reason.” You request.
“I can hear heartbeats,” he says, and when you scoff, he shakes his head, “No, seriously. So, here’s your big reason: Don’t make me listen to your heart stop beating.”
It’s a low blow. A hit to your core, right to the part of you that feels guilty you even have these feelings.
“Let me walk you home.” He says after a moment.
“I live in this building,” You say, and for a moment, you almost think that the Devil tenses, like he hadn’t realized that.
“Then let me walk you to your apartment. It’s cold out here, c’mon.” He offers.
“How do you know I won’t just do it tomorrow? Or after you leave?”
“I trust you,” And somehow you don’t believe him. But he swings his legs around and stands on the solid ground of the roof. He offers his hand to you again. “Let’s go inside.”
You take his hand and let him guide you off the ledge, and it only takes a few steps for you to start crying—truly sobbing at the idea of what you were about to do. The Devil is right; tonight won’t be the night.
And as soon as he listens to you start sobbing, his arms are around you like he’s known you your entire life. He’s warm, safe. His hand gently rubs your back, his pointer finger running up and down your spine. The Devil gives wonderful hugs, it reminds you of hot soup on a winter day, the first hot day of spring after a long winter, and a memory from before depression reared it’s ugly head at you, of being three, maybe four years old on Christmas Eve, wrapped in blankets, safe and loved, with a full stomach of food.
You don’t know him, but you know right then and there that you’ll be grateful to him forever.
“It’s okay,” he says softly, his voice like a lullaby, “You’re okay. I’ve got you, sweetheart.” You can tell he means the words, that they aren’t obligatory, but genuine. He’ll look after you. He lets you cry into his shoulder for a long time, reminding you to breath.
When there’s no tears left to cry, The Devil gently pulls away, his hand now on your cheek as he wipes away the tears that run down your face.
And there’s only one thing left to say,
“Let me take you home.” He says gently. And you nod, words escaping you. You walk with him down to your apartment, letting him tuck you into bed after drinking some water. As you wait for sleep to find you, he gently brushes hair from your face as he asks, “Promise me you’ll call someone tomorrow. A therapist, a help line, your mom. Promise me you’ll find the help you need. Promise me you’ll find a reason.”
Studying his features, since, you don’t know when you’ll see him again, you nod.
“I promise.”
He leans forward and kisses your forehead. It’s foreign. Welcomed. Paternal.
“Good. Goodnight, sweetheart.”
“Don’t be a stranger,” You request, and you see the corners of his lips twitch up.
“I’ll tell you what,” He starts, “I’ll come visit you tomorrow night, too. Okay?”
“Okay.”
The Devil of Hell’s Kitchen saves people—but not everyone needs to be saved in the same way.
He waits for you to fall asleep before he leaves, breaking the lock on the door up to the roof so you can’t get up there, not until they fix it. Then, he makes his way to the window on the other side of your floor, to the apartment down the hall from yours.
He crawls into the window and pulls off his cowl, before showering, and then crawling into bed. He hopes you’ll find a reason, but he knows he’ll show up again if you can’t. That’s just the type of person he is.

Moonlight Blood -- Vampire!Sylus X Reader ✩₊˚.☪︎ ⁺₊✧
Word Count: 1K
Chapter 1 found here: x
Chapter 2:
The walk back to the room was silent. There wasn’t a second that you didn’t feel overwhelmed from all of this. Auctioned off, sold, to be a food source for a real living vampire. He didn’t seem….violent. Yet. There was so much you didn’t know, and so much to come. You arrive at the door, and the pair walk down the other side of the hallway. You enter slowly, grateful for the privacy. You notice piles of boxes on top of the bed, some stacked on the floor. With curiosity, you examine the boxes. The first few were brand new clothes. You pulled out loungewear, dresses, and undergarments made with the highest quality of fabrics. Each perfectly in your size, including some shoes. Another box contained toiletries of all kinds. Exotic oils, lotions, and cleansers. Every item looked luxurious, something you’ve never quite had the pleasure of having. It was as if Sylus was trying to make you feel more…at home. But this wasn’t your home. Your awe at the riches below you snapped as you reminded yourself you’re a victim here. Captive, forever. Until you find a way out of this mess.
But God, the aroma of this rose oil was captivating. You turn to look in the direction of the bathroom connected to the room. As you make your way in, the bathroom is just as exquisite as you expected. You take interest in the giant clawfoot bathtub, in which your body aches at the sight of it. You glance around, to make sure you’re truly alone. It’s been a handful of days since you last cleansed yourself…this was much needed. You turn the faucet on and pour a small amount of the oil in the bath. Steam quickly rises, beckoning you to crawl in. You lock the bathroom door, still weary. But for now, a bath will make things a little bit better.
The soak feels like heaven. All the dirt and grime from being handled around washes off of you, and you finally feel like you have your own skin back. As you exit the bath, you take a look at some of the clothes you brought in with you. You decided to put on a black, long sleeve maxi dress, considering it hid the most skin. As expected, it fits like a glove. You brush the knots out of your hair, staring at the reflection in the mirror. Shock still racked your mind, unable to fully believe this is where you are now. He said he wouldn’t hurt me, you reminded yourself. But he could do whatever he wanted to. There was no escape, and no rebellion if you wanted to keep yourself in one piece. Were you expected to stay confined in this room until he needed you? Which begged the question, when would he need you? You exhale, physically shaking off your undying anxiety. Get information. Make a plan.
You exit the bathroom slowly, as if you were afraid to make a sound. You were instantly greeted by Sylus’ large frame, making you react instantly. He stares at you, his expression cold.
“Were the items to your liking?” He asked plainly, gesturing to the boxes. Despite being fully covered, you felt exposed under his stare.
“Yes,” you breathed out. You noticed the way his eyes took a quick glance at your figure, before returning his gaze to you. He slowly reaches out and feels a thick strand of your hair. He lets it glide between his fingers as it drapes over your shoulder. You feel your heart beat rapidly in your chest once again.
“Careful now, all that high pressure isn’t good for you,” he stated. It clicked in your head he definitely can hear your heart beat erratically.
“Can you blame me?” You blurt out. You quickly shut your mouth, realizing you could have sounded a bit snarky. Sylus smirks in response.
“No, I suppose not.” Silence hangs heavy in the air. Sylus sauntered over to a lush, leather seat in the corner. He sits himself down casually, and stares you down. “You have questions.” Of course, you had a million questions. “Speak,” he commanded. You felt like prey.
“Why haven’t you bit me yet?” The question comes out before you think about it. “I mean–”
“Do you want me to, right now?” He interrupted, cocking his head a bit to the side. A mischievous smile teases his lips.
“No,” you answered honestly. You were scared, nothing would change that fact. You fidget with your hands, feeling cornered.
“I don’t like picking on the weak, kitten.” That nickname again. “I know the ride here wasn’t exactly gentle.” It was true, though. You barely remember the past handful of days, knocked out from a drug you didn’t know. Starved, grabbed, and stared at like you were some exotic beast. You avert your gaze, somehow feeling ashamed. “Besides…once you’re healthy then I’ll be able to savor the full taste of you.” His eyes seemed to glow with desire.
“You said my blood is special. Why?” You tried to stand up straighter, wanting to come off less frightened. Sylus took notice. “I’ve had blood tests before. Always normal.”
“There’s something in you that gives your blood a special quality to it. It’s…powerful to say the least. I don’t expect you to understand that,” he said, sounding a little condescending.
“How do you know?” You asked back. You felt yourself getting a little defensive. You wanted to persuade him you weren’t special. Something shifts in his gaze, his eyes becoming a little darker.
“I just do.” His words were short and you couldn’t find a response quick enough.
“...Will it hurt?” It was almost a whisper. You were afraid to know the answer. You notice the way Sylus calculated his response, as if trying to find the right thing to say. He stands himself up, walking towards you. You look at your hands again, hoping they would save you from this situation. He’s close enough now to feel his body heat, his staggering height looming over you. He leans down to your eye level.
“Behave. Don’t make me impatient. Then it will be fine.” His tone seemed a bit harsher. For a second, you thought this would be the moment he bites. Your body tensed up, but nothing came from it. He glances down at your body again, before back at your wide eyes. He smirks before standing straight. “But it looks like I won’t have to worry about that,” he added. You frowned, feeling like you should put up a fight. But your body knew it wouldn’t stand a chance. There was nothing you could do but be submissive.
“Was this planned? Are you the reason I was taken?” Your gut felt heavy with an emotion you couldn’t quite place. Sylus looks down at his hand, before coming back to you. “No. I just happened to be lucky.” He was cocky, confident, and rich. Part of you cursed at yourself for finding him alluring. He had the beauty of a black puma, and you were nothing but a mouse. It could be worse, you thought to yourself. If there was anything you knew, it was that monsters are very, very real. You were captive. This was your new life.

Welcome Home
Pairing: Detective David Friedman x UnhingedFem!Reader
Summary: In where David receives an interesting letter from [Y/n] who has been missing for a while, only to return home to a surprise.
Tag(s)/Warning(s): Daddy Kink, Age Gap, Oral (M and F receiving), Just unhinged [Y/n] antics, Mentions of physical violence, Also angst??
A/N: SURPRISE SURPRISE LOOK WHOSE COME CRAWLING BACK. Me. Is she done with hiatus? Who knows we'll figure it out. BUT HERE IS SOME DADDY DAVE AND UNHINGED Y/N. Also is that LORE COMING IN? Yes it is. Enjoy now!.
P.S: Please ignore any mistakes this got out of HAND.
The amount of casework that had piled up on his desk, threatened to spill onto the ground, as one of the younger patrol cops tossed another folder on top of the existing pile.
"Got another one for ya Friedman," the youngster announced, only to receive a grunt of annoyance as a reply. "Oh, also got this letter here too. It don't say whose it's from but it's got ya name on it."
That made his ears perk up, even if he didn't show it, as the kid walked away to deliver files to other folks. Letting out a grumble as he looked at all the work on his desk, he decided to ignore it all, more interested in the random letter that he went to pick up and investigate.
Sure enough, his name was written on it in swirly letters, just like the others, and he couldn't help but feel dread, and another feeling he didn't want to quite acknowledge. One that he wanted to yell at himself for feeling in the middle of the office in broad daylight.
'You gonna lose your job messing with this girl Friedman.'
Yet somehow, it didn't stop him from opening the letter, and being met with the same swirly handwriting. As cute as it was, there was nothing 'cute', about what was in the note.
"I miss you daddy~ All this running around sure got a girl tired when all she wants to do is be laid up with her favorite detective. There ain't no one out here that can do what you can for me, and I sure do miss how good you treat me."
He paused for a moment at that last sentence. Eyes narrowing, and thoughts brewing. Had she been with other people since she had been gone for nearly three months? Look, they were not an item, or anything like that. Fuck buddies at the most. Yet, there was a sting of annoyance at the thought of her doing anything with anyone but him.
'She really got you pussy whipped huh?'
Rolling his eyes at himself, he looked up once more to make sure no one had come in while he was engrossed in the letter. Confirming that no one was paying him any mind, he went back to reading.
"I hope you've missed me too. I know how hard 'it' can get when you don't have this wet pussy, and tight ass to fuck when you need it. It's hard for me too, you know? My fingers don't feel nearly as good as yours do daddy. Can't even go as deep as yours can :(. You know a girl like me can only go so long without wanting a nice thick cock to stretch her out. What else was this pretty pussy for if I do say so myself?"
He paused again, this time, taking a deep breath, as his chest felt heavy and tight from the shallow breaths he didn't realize he had been taking while he read the letter. Granted, his chest wasn't the only thing that felt tight, as he shifted in his chair, uncomfortable at the pressure in between his legs. He thanked the lord that from the way his desk was oriented, no one could come up from behind him.
But even so, he needed to calm his ass down unless he wanted to sport a hard-on in the middle of the precinct. Yet the urge to finish reading the letter felt more pressing, and from the way her handwriting devolved into messier scribbles, it seemed like she had probably been feeling the same as him.
Again, he looked around the space, and maybe it was his lucky day, but everyone seemed heads down doing casework and in no mood to pay attention to anything else around them.
Jesus this girl had him doing some dumb shit. Knowing he should fold the letter up and finish it somewhere with more privacy, he did the exact opposite.
"Something I think about every night, and every morning. Every minute actually. Can't help it, you know? Sometimes a girl just wants to be handcuffed and fucked dumb. You know that daddy~"
He did. Intimately.
"Wish you were here right now, feel how wet I am just thinking about you fucking me. Id give you my ass too, I know how much you love stretching it while using my pussy. I love it to daddy. Any hole you want you can have long as you cum in it. Bet you're thinking about how much of a slut I am right now~"
She was right on the money, as he licked his lips, cleared his throat, and fixed his tie a little. He felt suffocated and it was 100 percent because of the filth she had written.
Again.
"It's true but only for you, only want you. Promise won't be long till I get back. We can do everything I told you we could. And more. Not that you don't fuck me dumb every time ~ Miss you. Hope these letters been keeping you warm, though I'm sure it's gonna feel much better to have me wrapped around you rather than your hand."
Love,
Your Nightmare of a Slut <3
Closing the letter with a deep groan that sounded like a defeated sigh, Dave groaned a low, "fucking slut," under his breath, while trying to ignore his twitching cock that was trapped in his slacks.
It had been smutty letter after smutty letter since she had been gone, all of them sent to the office. He was sure it had raised some suspicion, but thankfully no one had gotten their head up their ass and opened them.
That would be one hell of an awkward meeting with the chief, and he didn't need any more trouble after that whole Hornbeck thing from last year. Was she trying to get him fired or something? He only had a few more years in the slammer left before he could retire, and he would be pissed if he lost out on his pension because of it.
'Can't blame it all on her. You ain't done nothin' to stop her from actin' like this.'
He sighed heavily, never having wanted to be home as bad as he wanted to right then.
As soon as it hit 17:30, he was out of his chair and to his car. Barely saying a word to anyone, he bolted to the parking garage to get himself home; his mind still swirling with the words written in the letter that was tucked in his suit pocket.
He never sped so quickly in his life and as bad as it was, he was thankful for that one perk of being a cop. The chances of getting pulled over were slim to none. Which was great, because his cock was also trying to make itself known again as he shifted uncomfortably in his seat.
When the light turned green at the intersection he was sitting at, he gassed it.
The usual 20-minute drive became 10, before he was digging for his house keys in his pockets while jogging up the steps that lead to his front porch. Pulling the keys out and going to unlock it, he froze for a moment when the door knob gave before he had even turned the key.
It was unlocked.
Immediately he was on alert, as his danger senses began to tingle, and his hand was already reaching for the gun that was holstered to his side. Either he had forgotten to lock the door when he left that morning, which was not the case as he always checked twice. Or someone, who wasn't him, was in the house, and he wasn't about to just go in there without being ready for a confrontation.
Taking a deep breath, he steeled himself as he opened the door with one hand, the other holding his gun as he stepped into the sound of the front room television playing.
The television he had turned off this morning.
What kind of burglar turns on someone's T.V. when they're robbing them?
"You hoo! Over here!"
The sound of a very familiar voice rang out from the direction of his sofa which startled him, yet at the same time caused him to relax. Even if he was very irritated, as he clicked the safety back on his gun and placed it inside the holster he was wearing.
A growl left his throat, as he closed the door, taking his suit jacket off, along with the holster, and hanging it up roughly on the coat rack by the door. Once he was done, he stomped over to the sofa, and peered over it, only to find exactly who he knew it was.
Lounging on his sofa, wearing nothing but a silky low-cut sleeping gown that was already hiked up to her thighs, [Y/n] wore a cheeky grin on her painted lips as she knew good and well he was going to have words for her breaking into his house.
"Welcome home, daddy~." She cooed, waving at him in an attempt to get ahead of the scolding she was likely to be getting. "Wasn't expecting little ole me were you? But lemme tell ya, you sure are a nice sight for sore eyes." Her teasing was punctuated with a wink, as she sat up, only to turn and kneel on the sofa so that she could face him.
He was still scowling at her, brows furrowed and amber eyes shining with annoyance as he gruffly responded to her with a series of questions.
"Now how in the hell did you get up in here!? I could have shot you [Y/n]! And matter of fact, just where the hell have you been all this time? Don't you tell me you've been out there doing some shady shit again?"
Shady wasn't even half of it. But he didn't need to know any of that. Best to keep all the icky stuff to herself. Didn't need a man as fine as him, in every sense of the word, worrying about it.
"Oh you know I don't work and tell Dave. What's life all about if a girl can't have some secrets of her own." She responded. It was paired with a mischievous glint in her eyes that always meant trouble, and add the way her hand was wandering up his thigh, he already knew he was about to be pulled into it.
"Don't worry promise I was being good!"
"I look like some damn fool to you?" David barked, voice thick as he grabbed her hand with some force to stop her from going any further. "Anytime you go somewhere I know you're up to something. And that something is probably manslaughter so who was it this time?"
"What are you talking about? I ain't never hurt a fly in my life!"
"I ain't talking about no damn fly!"
A tiny huff left her lips, followed by a childish whine as she tried to snatch her hand back from the tight grip he had around it. Granted she did like the feel of it.
Maybe she ask him later if he could try it around her neck.
"I didn't do annnnnythinng! Just wanted to get out of town for a bit, you know? It's too stuffy down here in the summer for me! Promise I was being good."
With the way he rolled his eyes at her, she knew he didn't believe a thing she said, yet, he easily gave up as there wasn't any way he could prove she had been up to something nefarious. Even though he knew her better than he had ever thought he would.
Freeing her wandering hand, she beamed at him, face radiating joy while her eyes radiated hunger as she quickly made her way back to her prize. She didn't waste any time this go around as she skipped the wandering, and went straight to unbuckling his belt with such speed and accuracy, that in another world he probably laugh at the situation.
But he didn't have time for that, because the moment she pulled both his pants and boxers past his hips with one go, her hand was already going to wrap around his cock that was already half hard. No doubt remnants from the smutty letter, courtesy of the woman in front of him.
"Fuckin' shit [Y/n]!" He hissed as she began to pump him hard and fast. The grip she had on his cock was just the right amount of tightness, and just the way she knew he liked it, as she licked and sucked at the weeping tip.
When the salty tang of his precum touched her lips, she could only let out a loud moan, which was more of a whine as she began to lick the thick head with hungry fervor. She had missed him, and she had missed this delicious cock of his. And from the way it stood to attention almost immediately when she pulled it out of its confines, she was sure he had also missed her attention.
"Fuck, mmm, you don't waste no time do you," he hissed as his head lolled back and an outstretched hand shot out to grip the back of the sofa to steady himself.
"Can't, missed you so much," she babbled manically before she was all but shoving his cock down her throat causing him to let out a loud string of expletives.
This only spurred her on even more, as she basked in the sound of his loud grunts, and deep groans that were dripping from his lips. Each moan, each sigh of her name, and each jerk of his hips towards her had that familiar coiling sensation in her stomach tightening and tightening it was absolutely addicting.
"Mhmm, sure it wasn't, ugh shit, s-sure it wasn't my cock you missed doll?"
"Mish'dyouto!" She protested with a pout, though her words were all jumbled up as she didn't even try to pull away completely from him, too much in love with the weight of him and taste of him on her tongue.
She had said it before and demonstrated it many times before, but she was weak when it came to him. How couldn't she be with a man like David? He may be the grumpiest soul alive, but that didn't take away from the charm he had.
From the beautiful amber eyes, and hair peppered with greys, blondes, and browns. To that delicious stomach of his that showed a hint of a belly. And who could forget the cock that she was always ready to jump on when she had a chance? She sure couldn't.
He was perfect, even if she wasn't.
Not caring to dwell on anything that wasn't part of making him come. [Y/n] squashed any negativity down swallowing around his cock, relaxing her throat as much as possible as she slid him down her throat. Down, down, down, until her nose was buried in his coarse pubic hair and she was swallowing around him. She widened her mouth as much as she could just before he began to thrust his hips wildly at the feeling of being fully engulfed in that wet heat.
The sound of her throat being fucked, and his groans drove her crazy, and it wasn't long before her fingers were reaching into her underwear to stroke her already soaked pussy that was begging for him.
"Thought you were, mmmm, tired of your fingers doll," David groaned as he watched her rub herself in desperation, "not big enough for that, ugh, slutty cunt of yours is it?"
They weren't, and she let out a pitiful whine for an answer as she pressed two fingers into herself. The digits slid in with ease, yet it barely did anything to relieve the fiery pressure that had been building inside of her.
"Fuck! Oh christ!" David groaned loudly, his thrusts becoming messy and erratic with each passing moment. Telltale signs he was about to come.
All the while, [Y/n] was basking in the way he was hitting the back of her throat, and how amazing he looked so disheveled as he fucked her mouth without care. Thank goodness she had taken him enough times to not worry about her gag relax going off.
It only took a few more sloppily thrusts, and some well timed moans from her before, a shout of her name was ripped from him, and he was shoving, and holding her face against him as he emptied himself into her waiting mouth.
She drank every last drop of it too. Damn near almost choking on it the way the hot liquid just kept coming and coming. But being the slut she was for him, there wasn't a single second where she even thought about spilling a single drop of it.
Feeling his cock begin to soften in her mouth after milking everything she could from him, she pulled away, her body buzzing as she licked him clean with a happy sigh. Feeling more than pleased with herself at the content groan that he let out, his large hand cupping the side of her cheeks gently.
Once she deemed that her job was done, she gently nuzzled the side of his thigh before she looked up at him with eyes that pleaded for more.
"Dave please," she whined softly. Pulling away from him and hopping off the sofa. Only to walk around to him, and tug at the arm of the disheveled dress shirt he wore.
"Want you, missed you."
Wrapping her arms around his shoulder, she leaned up to kiss his neck, before pulling him down a little so that their lips met in a bruising kiss.
He could taste the salty tang of himself mixed in with a sweetness that was hers as he kissed her, and all he could do, was press his lips harder against hers all the while her tongue traced at his thin lips. Memorizing each little crevice on the skin before he parted his lips, allowing her to do the exploring that she so loved to do between them.
Their tongues danced slowly and passionately as sighs filled the air and throaty whines left her lips. She was first to explore his mouth with a fervor she was known for before he was pushing her back. Dominating her in the kiss which she happily forfeited to him.
It wasn't long before his hands found her sides that tensed the moment he touched her. Her body flinched away from him for a mere second. Not even long enough for someone to notice, but he did, and even if he hadn't noticed that, he did hear the little whimper that also left her lips which at first had him raise an eyebrow.
That sound wasn't the whimper of pleasure that he was used to hearing. No, it sounded different. Yet she didn't stop kissing him. Matter of fact her hands went up to his chest as she began to undo his shirt, more than ready to feel all of his skin on her.
Breaking the kiss, but not without leaving one last bruising one on her lips, David pulled back, which almost caused her to start to protest but she was quickly cut off by him.
"Naw, now stop that. You know I don't wanna hear any of that complain' now," he started, voice stern yet devoid of anger of any sort. "I've been at work all day and the last thing I want to do is fuck you on the sofa so we either do this on the bed or not at all."
Oh no, she couldn't have that. But also, she couldn't not tease him about it either.
"Your bones getting old or something detective? I mean last time, you ain’t seem to have no problem drilling me on this here sofa." She turned to stroke the back of the sofa, before giving it a pat for emphasis before looking back up at him with a sly expression that only had him rolling his eyes.
God was she a menace. But if there was one thing he had learned, is that teasing her right back was a very effective means to trip her up.
'Christ Friedman.'
Grabbing her jaw with one hand and squeezing it lightly, not enough to hurt her, even though he was sure she loved that, he continued his little scolding of her.
"You know with all that mouth you giving me it's sounding like you rather have your fingers for company than me [Y/n]. The door is right there if that's what you want."
Her eyes widened immediately at his words, and her lips drew themselves into a pout. And he knew he had her.
"Noooo! I'm sorry!" She cried, as her hands went up to grab his wrist as he let go of her. Instead of pulling away completely, he let her pull his hand to her cheek as she nuzzled the side of her face against his palm. "You know I'm not gonna complain about getting in your sheets. It's what I am here for you know!"
"Just for that?"
"And you too!"
A small smirk appeared on his lips, it was fleeting, but she grinned when she saw it.
Oh, was he very much trapped in her spider web, as she led him through the hallway into the bedroom.
Watching her flop on the bed once they were in, David went to undo his tie as he stalked up to her, throwing the fabric on the floor before he unbuttoned his shirt and discarded that as well.
[Y/n] had sat up by then, watching with a glint in her eyes as he stripped his shirt off leaving him naked. Her fingers itching already to touch him, but doing her best to ease that by reaching down to touch herself to ease the throbbing in her cunt that was screaming for him.
Before she could even slip her digits between the thin fabric of her underwear and herself, David had already yanked her hand away from herself and pinned it to her side.
"No more of that," he growled, causing her to gasp, the rumble of his voice shooting straight down to her core, causing her to wiggle her lower half towards him, wanting him to just take care of the pressure that was coiled in her stomach.
"I've been without this cunt for too damn long [Y/n]. And then you send those letters. Not even letters, straight up smut you made up and you think I'm not about to fuck you dumb?"
She wanted to tell him that was the point, but was distracted by him trailing kisses across her clavicle, and nipping at it before he moved down to where she wanted him to really be.
"D-Did you like them," she stuttered out as he began to kiss her thighs. Her legs spreading open for him on instinct to make sure he had all the room he needed. It seemed to spur him on, and the way his perpetual five o clock shadow rubbed against her as he sucked and nipped at her flesh, only had her breaths become shallower as he made his way up to where she wanted him to be.
"I thought you might get lonely, ah, wanted to make s-sure you had something to keep you entertained while I was gone daddy."
He had been entertained all right.
"Entertained huh?" he growled, as he pushed her nightgown up just below her lower stomach, the skin beneath peeking out a little.
He noticed a little discoloration on her stomach but didn't pay too much attention to it. Too busy with the task of ridding her of her soaked underwear, before he nuzzled her aching clit with that wonderful hooked nose of his. Her hips immediately canted upwards towards him, and a cry of pleasure flew from between her lips as he inhaled that heady scent of her before he let himself taste what he had been missing for months.
"Ahaa haaa! Yes right there daddy, r-right there!" She begged, as his tongue swirled around the bundle of nerves that set her on fire with each practiced flick of his tongue.
He alternated between giving the sensitive spot languid licks and sucking it as it swelled at the attention that it had been seeking for such a long time. Keeping her preoccupied with his talented mouth, he slowly dragged his digits up her thigh until they were joining him in pulling out whine after noisy whines from her lips. His tongue continued to dance around her clit as he slid two thick fingers into her cunt that sucked him into her with ease and urgency.
The moan she let out was probably heard by his next door neighbors, but he couldn't give two shits. Not when he was ready to be balls deep in her as she began to grind her hips against his face furiously.
"Ngggh, fuck! Oh fuck, Dave please!" Her voice pitched higher and higher as he sucked on her while his fingers moved in and out of her soaked insides with both speed and precision.
Each time he dragged his digits out of her, he made sure that he hooked them just right so that they would rub right against that spot at her entrance that had her practically shaking like a leaf. And he kept doing it, faster and faster, adding another finger next to the two and opening her up wider and it drove her insane as the coil in her stomach tightened and she could feel
"Please what doll?"
"Please, haa, please more gonna, ngggh! G-gonna come daddy, please."
"Mmmm if you gonna come then you better do it now."
That was all she needed to hear before she let herself relax all the way. Let him bring him to that peak that her shaking and letting out a shriek of,
"Dave!"
Her shout became a strangled clipped noise as her legs stiffened, and her fingers clawed at the bed sheets as he continued to fuck her spasming pussy with digits that were drenched with her juices. Harder and faster just like she wanted it, her body stiffened even more, and the wet sounds coming from below her increased until,
"Fuck!"
She wasn't sure if she had said it or if he did or maybe it had been both of them. But what she did know, was that when she felt that gush of liquid from her pussy, she couldn't stop the cry that left her as the stiffness immediately released her and her limbs became uncontrollable for a moment.
The spasming, the shaking, all of it happened at once and for a moment she wondered if she was dead because there was no way she could feel this good and still be alive. It was like pleasure had been injected directly into her veins, and it burned so good, better than she had ever imagined and she wanted more.
Her mind was totally addled for a moment with the pleasure, even as David gave her cunt a few more licks, lapping up the juices that coated her thighs and her twitching cunt. Little sounds of pleasure involuntarily left her lips as he crawled on top of her, planting kisses down her neck, nibbling at sucking at it. He could feel her rolling her hips weakly beneath him and he chuckled against her neck.
Like her body was begging for more even without words and boy was he more than ready to give it to her. He had spent months fucking his hand while reading the letters she had sent him, wishing it was her cunt he was fucking. And he wasn't about to waste any more time as he let his hand roam down her front grabbing the hem of her dress and making a motion to pull it up so he could see all of her.
When he lifted himself off her though, the sight beneath him froze him in place and about knocked the wind out of him. What he was expecting to see was that soft skin that he had gotten well acclimated with. What he wasn't expecting was whatever he was staring at now in slight horror.
Her left side, from the middle of her belly almost to her lower back, was heavily discolored and severely bruised.
Like something or someone had repeatedly hit her in that area. From the looks of it, he wouldn't have been surprised if something had broken. And if not, how? But also, the pain.
She couldn't have not been in pain with how large the area was. And suddenly it dawned on him. The flinching from earlier when he had grabbed her. He must have hurt her, and she just ignored it. But he couldn't now.
"Dave?"
He hadn't realized how long he had frozen, not until her voice rang out and his eyes slowly drifted upwards to her. And whatever his face looked like, it must have startled her, because for a second, instead of that familiar look of lust that she always had around him, there was a true wide eye look of shock.
"Who did this to you?"
She looked down at herself and saw what she knew he was looking at. Her eyes lingered on the spot, or more accurately the area, before she shook her head and looked at him with a straight face. Looked at him like nothing was wrong, like this was a normal thing and at that moment he felt a large pit of emptiness and dread filling his stomach.
"Mmm's nothing," she answered before settling back into the bed. "Now come on, don't you wanna do all those things I was talkin' about in them letters." Her fingers trailed up and down his arm and that smirk she was known for was back on her face. "Because I know I do~."
No he didn't.
How did she expect him to want to do anything with her in the state she was in? Maybe she could stomach it. He knew how she was; he would even indulge her from time to time. The spanking and leaving small bruises. But this wasn't him. He couldn't stomach this. Not when he had a strong inkling that whatever had caused the massive bruise was not consensual.
"No [Y/n] stop!" He growled, ripping his hand away from her with such force that she let out a startled yelp. Not because he had hurt her though. Not physically though.
Yet it hurt him for some reason.
"I'm fine! I promise Dave please!" She pleaded, her hand going to reach for him as he moved away from her. "Just got in a bit of a mix up that's all. I sorted it all out don't gotta worry about it no more!"
Moving off the bed and going to his closet to grab some clothes, anything to put a barrier between them, he reappeared with a robe wrapped around him a deep frown etched on his lips.
"Doll I know you get up to no good sometimes. No don't even try to act like that. We both know it's true," he continued as she tried to interrupt him with an argument but he wasn't having it. "But this, no this is different, what have you been up to since you've been gone [Y/n] I ain't gonna ask you again."
Like a deer in headlights, she froze. Her mind buzzed with any excuses she could give to him about where she had been and what she had been up to. Each lie less believable than the one before.
"[Y/n]."
His voice was low, dangerous even and it was different from the way he spoke to her. He wasn't playing with her anymore. He may have been fucking her, indulging her whims that could get him into some deep shit if anyone found out. But if there was one thing Dave was good at, it was getting answers out of folks in whatever way he had to. Even if he did like them.
No wonder why the chief didn't have the balls to fire him after that scandal with the senator.
She had to come clean to him. Or as clean as she could without giving herself away completely.
"He knew where someone I was looking for was at Dave," she admitted in a whisper. Barely loud enough for him to hear and not looking up at him. Too ashamed to do so, knowing what she had done was plain stupid. And all because she let her emotions run wild. "Said he could show me where and I went like a dummy. I was so caught up, that I didn't even realize what was happening till he dragged me out into the middle of nowhere."
"Who?"
There was a bite to his voice, a growl that existed just on the edge of it that had her sitting up a little straighter. His eyes were dark, not from lust, no that was long gone, they looked stormy, angry. It confused her, and even in her lamenting she felt a familiar buzz of arousal trying to come back even though the moment for any of that was long gone by now."
"Who what?"
"Who did this to you [Y/n]? And who the hell you out lookin' for that got you all beat up like this?"
"I can't," she blurted out shaking her head, eyes lowering, cowering away from the fire in his that burned her. "Can't tell you Dave I'm sorry…maybe one day, but not today you gotta trust me!"
Trust her?
He hadn't gotten this far in life or in his profession by trusting people easily. Everyone was looking to stab someone in the back, or bribe someone just so that they could climb the ranks. And lord knows he wasn't an angel either when it came to having to bribe people sometimes to get them to cooperate with a case. It was just something that came with the job.
So, asking him to just trust her was not an easy thing. Yet considering everything she could have done to him at this point, which included murdering him, he felt like he did have to give it to her.
He didn't trust her 100% but it sure was more than some of the people he worked with.
"Please."
Her voice was tiny, a far cry from the attitude and fire that she had no problem showing him and whoever had the bad luck of getting in her way. And it felt wrong.
Running a hand through his disheveled hair, he clicked his tongue before letting out a deep sigh that had been waiting to be released.
'Fine.'
Dropping his hand, he turned on his heel, almost out the door before she called out to him in confusion.
"W-where you goin'?" [Y/n] asked, as she began to scramble up from the bed with the intent to follow him.
Whipping around, he pointed at her and she froze in place.
"Stay."
He commanded sternly before he was out of the room leaving her dumbfounded and alone with her racing thoughts.
There was an itch, the longer he was gone. A tingle in her fingers, the urge to claw at her skin that was crawling with anxiety, self-doubt, and distress.
What had she done? Was he finally over her? Tired of whatever back alley situations she was getting herself into. What if he was calling backup to come and take her away and lock her up? She'd deserve it, but this was not the way she thought this would have happened.
All these thoughts swirled in her head yet instead of spurring her into action like they would have, she just sat on the bed, staring at the door that he had left out of. Waiting for him and whatever he was about to do.
She could jump out of the window and make a run for it, but she sat until,
"So you do listen sometimes, come on doll."
His voice was so close to her, that it caused her to jump, not even realizing he had come back into the room and went to the side of the bed closest to her.
"Dave I'm sorry," she whispered, subdued and unlike herself as she let him help her off the bed. She followed him to wherever he was taking her as he led her out of the room with no questions.
If there was one person she trusted, it was him.
"Ain't got nothing to be sorry about," he replied, giving no real indication of how he was feeling as he brought her to the bathroom.
Wait why the bathroom?
Confusion settled in immediately as he led her into the slightly steamy bathroom. And it was still there as he brought her right up to the bath that was filled with hot water, and from the smell of it, some bath salts.
"Get in there and don't even think about running off when you done. Come straight back to the room alright?"
Staring at the steaming bath and back at him with a dumbfounded expression, [Y/n] nodded.
"Speechless? That's a first," he pointed out, amusement in his tone as he watched her stare at the bath with an unreadable expression.
It made him wonder. Had anyone treated her this way before? Had he treated her this way before? A frown appeared on his features, as he leaned down and distracted himself by planting a soft kiss on her shoulder.
"You gonna keep kissin' on me Detective and let the water get cold?"
He chuckled against her skin. There she was.
"Alright but don't go escaping you hear?
She turned to look at him, a wry smile that he had never seen before that caused his heart to hurt for some reason.
"You know I won't."
"Mhmm," he hummed as he straightened up and left the bathroom. Closing the door behind him and leaving her by herself.
Listening to his footsteps move away from the door, and knowing he was gone, [Y/n] felt her shoulders sag. The heavy weight that had been resting on it finally disappeared as she took off her clothes slowly and carefully. She did her best to not aggravate the large bruise that throbbed on and off during the day.
It wasn't as large as it had been though so that was progress.
Stripped and free of her clothes, she took a few steps towards the tub and gingerly stepped in before slowly lowering herself into the water. The effects were immediate as she felt her muscles relax, and the ache from her side began to subside if only just a little.
A sigh of relief left her lips as she let herself just relax. Knowing she was safe. And that David was right next door waiting for her. He was such a grumpy man. Yet he did this for her. Even after not telling him everything, he still cared enough to make sure she was okay and it made something in her chest tighten.
From the first time they met he cared, and he hadn't changed after all those years.
She was such a terrible person, she knew that. And it hurt to lie to him like this. He deserved to know the truth. But she wasn't ready, and she still hadn't finished what she had set out to do. So it would have to wait. She just hoped she wasn't dead in a gutter before it all could come out.
"Oh David Friedman," she murmured, a forlorn expression blanketing her features as she pulled her knees towards her chest. "You just don't know much of a mess I really am."
Letting out a small sigh, she let her head fall back against the edge of the tub, eyes squeezed shut tightly to hold back the tears that had been threatening to fall.
She stayed in the tub for a while, tending to herself, and maybe putting some of his body wash in the water just so she could be surrounded by his scent. A mixture of coolness and spice that had her sinking in the tub, and blowing at the bubbles she had created.
By the time she had decided it was time to get out, the water was lukewarm and her skin was a bit pruny. But, she had felt so much better than she had been for the last few weeks as she wrapped herself in a fluffy towel he had laid out for her.
Even if he was grumpy, and probably tired of her antics, he still was treated her kindly and she couldn't help but to smile at herself.
Picking up her nightgown, which was a little wrinkled from everything she had just put it through, she slid it back on; forgoing any underwear, because those things were ruined and belonged in the trash. Which she tossed them in, as she left the bathroom and found herself standing at the threshold of the hallway and his bedroom.
The lights had been turned out, and only the bedside lamp was on, as he sat in bed a book in hand as if everything earlier had not happened. He sure was good at compartmentalizing, wasn't he?
"Ain't it a little too early to be going to bed?" [Y/n] pointed out as she stepped into the room, getting his attention as he offered a little grunt as a response.
"With all the heart attacks you be giving me?" He asked, raising his eyebrow as we went to place the book he was reading on the bedside table. "It ain't never too early to call it a day."
"Aww come on don't act like that," she giggled, as she made her way to the bed, but only going so far as to stand at the edge of it, unsure of what she was supposed to do.
Seeing her hesitation, he pulled the blanket on her side down, inviting her to get in, and boy, he had never seen someone so happy. Her face lit up and she looked elated as she climbed onto the bed, grin and all while cozying up to his side quickly. A childlike excitement in her eyes as she looked up at him as if he was everything to her.
Another sigh, this time inaudible, left him.
"And don't you try to sneak out of here! If you ain't here when I wake up I'mma come find you."
"Is that a promise?" She grinned, only causing him to roll his eyes and shake his head.
But there wasn't any real annoyance as she tucked herself into the warm sheets and nestled herself against his side. He hesitated for a moment before letting himself lay a hand on her shoulder. A purr left her lips at his touch, and she closed her eyes looking like the most comfortable woman alive.
"I'm serious [Y/n]."
"I know, I ain't going nowhere I promise," she whispered, drowsiness setting in surprisingly quick thanks to how safe she felt.
It didn't take more than 10 minutes before she was out like a light, her breathing evening out as she slept. All the while, David took several glances at her, making sure she was asleep before he let himself fully relax against the headboard.
He didn't know what the hell he was doing. Whatever it was, was probably not a good idea considering everything that had transpired, yet he couldn't not help her. She was a menace, full of attitude, and on the deranged side of things yet here she was sleeping like a little angel. Truly the duality of man, he thought as he closed his eyes, not really wanting to dwell longer on the extremely strange situation.
If he woke up dead the next morning, then so be it. He wouldn't have to deal with the mess he had on his hands, which he had also basically enabled. But with his luck, he probably wake up just fine.
After all, he did trust her.
A/N: : D shout out to @smilingformoney who supports my unhinged daddy dave thots. We love unhinged [Y/n] and I'm please to finally shell out some of her lore that has been in my brain.
Now go forth and leave comments LOL. They make me happy and it makes me want to write more :" D. Okay buh bye!

Galadriel's realization
Ok, you know how last week we were having fun with this tweet? How we were talking about Gal's reaction?
Well, I'm going to break it down, now!
First, let's take a look at her mouth and neck movements. (gif from @spellofwinter)
Her mouth is slightly agape, and her throat sinks in, as if she's gasping. And, let's be real, she probably is because of the pain caused by the spike. It also reminds me of a reaction when one wakes up from a dream. You can even see a hint of her shoulders rising.
But, it's likely an emotional reaction, as well. It's as if she's been given some incredible knowledge, something she's never really considered before (more on that in a second), or something she thought to be....secret. All of this movement gives the illusion of her posture straightening out, even though she has just been stabbed. Interesting.
Now, as for the eyes, for a second they are just looking at the guy in front of her. However they suddenly widen. Again, it's a physical reaction, yet, there is emotion behind it, too. She's surprised at something, not expecting it. Then, she shifts her eyes downward. Either she's feeling faint from the wound (very plausible), and/or she is understanding what's happening, and is feeling stuck. It is giving, "Oh, crap, I really do feel these things for him. Now that I know this, I can't exactly do anything to get me out of it."

Busy S.R x FEM! Reader
Overture-You haven't been giving yourself enough rest and Spencer's worried to say the least.
CWs- Light angst, Reader isn't sleeping enough by like a lot, and is drinking too much caffeine (then gets crazy jittery), petnames (angel and honey).
A/N- Still behind, but this is day 21.
When Spencer started staying over at your apartment on some of his days off, he really noticed just how busy you are. Between work, school, and everything else he wasn’t sure how you had time to breathe let alone anything else. He figured you just managed to push yourself throughout the day by way of excessive caffeine and near endless motivation, only to crash at night– when you’d finally get some rest. But you’d been different recently. The bags under your eyes were more apparent, you seemed to be stifling a yawn every other sentence, and worst of all, one of the last times he was over, after you and he had both gone to bed he thought he heard you moving around in your living room well after two in the morning, he called out for you, and you quickly moved back to the bedroom, insisting you couldn’t sleep and needed some water— despite the glass of water right next to your side of the bed.
He was too tired to make a valid attempt at analyzing your behavior, so he took your word for it when you insisted you were ok, just thirsty. That was until, the time after that, when he only stirred when you came back to bed, just to look at the alarm clock by your bed to see it was almost five.
“Where’d you go?” He called out from your bed, and although you were startled– you didn’t realize he was up– you crawled back under the covers. Just as you had done hours before, but now you had every intention of actually going to sleep.
“Just to the living room, I promise I didn’t go far. I didn’t want to wake you.”
“I thought you were coming to bed for the night?” You gave a contented hum when you scooted closer to him, burying your face in his shoulder, giving him a small kiss there when you settled in.
“I am, Spencer. Come on, you need to get some rest.” The insinuation that he was the one who needed to get rest– after he had just gotten several hours and you were just now coming to bed after sleeping for who knows how long well before he noticed you were missing next to him. But you were tired, he was tired, and he didn’t want to take any more of the time you should’ve been using to rest–so he let you be, and fell back asleep in your arms. Of course after waiting until he could hear your breathing change, and knew you had actually fallen back asleep.
When he woke up in the morning, he was in your bed alone again. He wasn’t sleeping a lot, often not even sleeping enough– how are you still functioning? He wandered over to your kitchen in his pajamas, the coffee machine brewing, and you were already leaning over the counter reading one of your textbooks. It was like looking in a mirror for Spencer, and he was concerned for you.
“When did you get up?” He called out to you as he made his way behind you, holding onto your arms— still propped on the counter and kissing your shoulder.
“Just a few minutes ago– but coffee’s almost ready.”
“You’re an angel. How’d you sleep?” He was almost hoping that you’d say you slept terribly. Because he knew you did– he heard you, and he knew you barely got a few hours of sleep.
“Fine, but I don’t want to get started on school work yet– and I think I have to now.” He was particularly worried because of your change of subject. He knew school was important to you, and that you had so much going on, but he needed you to take care of yourself too.
“Or we could go out for breakfast, and I could help you when we get back.”
“I don’t know if it’s fair to use my genius boyfriend to help me study–” you wanted to do things yourself. Spencer was able to do everything perfectly, and even if you weren’t quite as intelligent as him— you wanted to feel like you could too.
“But the genius boyfriend loves you so much, and he really wants french toast.”
“Mmm, ok let’s get breakfast, I’ll get caught up later. I’d hate to deprive my loving boyfriend.”
After getting ready together, you ended up at an adorable diner near your apartment. Spencer got his french toast, you got your third cup of coffee this morning, and you could think through your mental schedule again, pushing everything you have to do back an hour to account for the breakfast you were currently enjoying. You hadn’t even realized you got lost in thought before Spencer pulled you out of it.
“Can I talk to you about something?”
“Sure Spencer, anything.”
“How long have you actually been sleeping at night?” You could feel every muscle in your face drop, but tried to play it off. You just needed to make it a few more weeks, and then it would all be ok.
“What, why?”
“Because I’m getting worried about you. You were shaking from high caffeine intake yesterday.”
“Maybe I was just cold.”
“It was 75 degrees and you were wearing long sleeves.”
“I mean– I don’t drink that much coffee. I just have kind of a lot going on this month, and I wanted to stay focused.”
“I know honey. But you need to take care of yourself too. “
“But if I can just make it a couple more weeks it won’t be as big of a problem. Work will calm down, and I’ll be most of the way through the semester.”
“But, you can’t keep going like this that long.”
“Sure I can.”
“Honey, no you can’t. Let’s go back to your apartment and I can help you with your work. Because you need to take a break once in a while.”
“But I want to do it myself– It’s not an accomplishment if you do it for me.”
“How about I help you get organized then? We can make a schedule that maximizes your time and lets you actually get rest at night.”
“I don’t know—“
“We can make a list of all the assignments for school and all of the tasks at work that you need to do, and we can figure out what order works best for you to get everything done. Please let me help.” That broke your already crumbling exterior of self reliance. Your stubbornness was no match for his damn puppy dog eyes.
“Well, alright— we can try that.”
“Good. Let’s go home, ok angel?”
“ I mean if Spencer Reid is telling me to sleep more and drink less coffee— I must be on death's door.”
“Ha ha. Come on beautiful, let’s get you set up and then you’re taking a nap, because my goodness I can’t believe you’ve been living like this for weeks.” He put money on the table for food, and helped you out of the vinyl booth.
“Yeah that last cup of coffee didn’t help like I thought it would.”
“ I asked the waitress to switch you to decaf when you went to the bathroom.”
“What?”
“Honey— you were shaking the table because you were bouncing your leg so much.”
“Ok maybe I had a little too much caffeine this morning.” “Maybe.” He may have laughed at you a little bit, but you couldn’t be mad at him when he opened the door for you like that, putting his hand on the small of your back as you passed through the door’s threshold.

#sorry im thinking abt death again#because it's weird to think that ive been in the room. maybe a meter away from someone as they died#that someone being my mom. its just weird. the time in the hospital feels like it happened in some dark little pocket universe detached from#time. a calm room and then the soft blips of a monitor then the nurse rushing in to say she'd passed#i dont kno y ppl use that phrase: passed on. i mean i do. it softens the topic. makes it sound peaceful. ive yet to use it. i just say she#died bc thats what happened. is that insensitive? i dunno. when i was home i realized that i come off as much stranger than i think. the way#my family see me doesnt fit how i see myself. i dont kno what to do with that. i dunno. theyre all together today#for an early easter. and im halfway across the country again. nose so stuffy ive had to mouth breathe for the last 3 days#and again. everything feels the same as it did before but also profoundly different. sometimes i cry in the mornings. or when i think abt#future vacations she wont be there for. bc in the end she quickly slipped away in a way that couldn't be described as peaceful until her#last half a day. and all i can think about in that tiny room is how scary it would be to lose control like that#and how its not fair and she didnt deserve to die only halfway through a lifetime. but its not about fair and its not about deserving.#sometimes bad things just happen. that's life. and now i own a book called motherless daughters. and now im standing with the countless#others who've lost their moms too early. ive already become aware of 3 ppl in my daily life who are in the same club#i keep thinking about this moment that happened between my parents at the hospital. apparently my dad was helping her get cleaned up and her#stomach was so bloated she looked like she had a bby in there. which my dad said. and my mom apparently said: but it's a baby no one want. i#dont kno y that upsets me so much. all the things i heard abt her being in the hospital before i got there upset me. and the rest of my#family was there to see it. so i have the least traumatic version of the story. and i got almost 27 years with her. except my sisters#probably got more time with her bc i spent so much time away. or maybe not. i dunno.#i dunno. im just sad that shes gone and sad that it was drawn out even a little bit. 6 days isnt long but im sure it felt like an eternity.#again not fair. nothings fair. 53 years of unfairness culminating in a tragedy. she would hate me characterizing it like that. she lived a#full life as they say. full with an asterisk on account of length#unrelated

Having a Saturday like "most people I've dated have only really liked me for my body and/or a fake personality I've presented, so when they know the true me it's not enough to keep them around. Anyways let's have some ramen for my 2 pm breakfast."
#speculation nation#negative/#mayhaps. i am not feeling too great this morning.#this came from me thinkin about my recent ex again and how she said she never actually loved me#(im sick of thinking about it. but i think im gonna be thinking about that for a long long time.)#but i thought about how excited she'd get about my looks n body and i just thought to myself like#'maybe she didnt love me but at least That couldnt have been faked.'#n then i just paused like '...Geeze.' at how depressing a thought it was lmfao#like sorry my personality is ass and my hot bod's the only good thing about me (relationship-wise)#xoxoxo cant help bein a hot mess i guess !#... i dont know if she even realizes the blow she dealt to me by saying that.#i Told her i had trust issues and felt unlovable. i Told her this.#and yet she tells me that she never actually loved me and every time she said it was a 'mistake'. a MISTAKE.#she didnt need to say that. she literally didnt need to say that. even if it was true there are just some things that dont need said.#in the end. she's not the first person who's dealt this kind of blow to me. and she might not be the last.#i'll keep going. i'll keep trying. i know im not actually unlovable. there's gotta be Someone who likes me for more than just my body#who is also a good fit for me. they Gotta exist out there. somewhere.#and for now. i continue on with full confidence in my attractiveness but Zero confidence in my personality.#might try a nice n slow romance next. make them actually work for it b4 they get to sleep with me.#make it a reward or smth. or rather. make sure theyre not here for Just that lol.#sure would be nice if i had someone interested in me for more than just my body. we'll see if i can find that lol.

why won't my brain shut up why won't my brain shut up why won't my brain shut up why won't my brain shut up
#i'm overthinking something that i did and was told off for doing by my director#and on my way home i was thinking when was the last time i was even talked to like that during a production#and then i remembered the costume experience from hell of only a couple months ago that i've already began blocking out#but the thing is that that person was someone i knew i'd never have to work with again#i mean at first i thought i would have to work with them more. then they announced they were moving away immediately#so i only had to deal with them face to face for another weekish after that point and anytime they yelled at me#i was like 'cool. i'll do exactly what you say to do. and nothing more.' but then of course me being me#i did some extra stuff and they initially were like 'oh that's pretty' and then days later told me to cut everything i added#and like sure i get that the show was frozen but girl. that costume was unfinished. i was trying to finish it. it was frozen but looked bad#anyway. whenever they yelled at me and had actual malice in their heart i was like whatever. i was hurt. but i didn't care as much.#but this time it's someone i've worked with many many times before and it was about a habit i have that i know isn't great#but at the same time the thing that prompted it wasn't even me doing this habit it was something else#but she interpreted it as that habit and said that i can't do that on a production she's directing#and that if i couldn't stop then i could pull out from the production and there'd be no hard feelings between us#and honestly i think her reassuring that she knows i'm valuable and that she wants me there while also telling me not to do this thing#and the fact that she's someone i like working with and will continue to work with just made it all hurt so much more#especially since she referenced another past production we've done where i didn't even realize she had noticed that i do this.#and i found myself in near tears. and still am kind of in near tears. i can't decide if i need to cry or not.#and i had NO sleep last night so i was looking forward to sleeping tonight but now i'm just overthinking EVERYTHING#and like. i know everything will be fine. if i just stop inserting myself and stick to just my specific tasks. it'll be fine.#but this is one of the ways my ocd manifests. i feel like i have to personally fix something i notice going wrong. or it'll be bad.#because every single time i choose to sit back and not be nosy when i notice something it ends up bad in a way i could have prevented#if i just inserted myself in a situation i technically wasn't part of but knew i could help or fix. so i just need to not do that.#but then i feel guilt if it does go wrong in the ways i immediately assumed it would and in a way i could prevent.#and i've been trying to work on this for like 6 months and aaaahhhh it's hard and being called out on it from her just really really hurt#i still may or may not cry. i don't know. the irony of me telling my therapist THIS MORNING that it's been a while since i last cried.#and the universe being like 'i took that as a challenge' and handing me this situation for me to spiral over.#i need to leave things alone. i need to stare straight ahead. and ignore whatever isn't specifically for me to do. but ahhh i want to help#and then of course my mom has this same habit and it annoys me when she does it yet i do it to other people and ahhhhhhhh#brain please just shut up. i need to sleep. i have to work tomorrow.

I’m not one for soulmates AUs but bobbyrufus soulmate AU of the ‘you have the last words your soulmate will ever say to you on your body somewhere’ kind.
#I MAKE THE RULES OF THE AU AND WHAT I SAY IS THAT THE MOMENT THE WORM ENTERS BOBBY TIME IS UP#ANYTHING SAID BY OR TO HIM AT THAT POINT DOESNT COUNT#YES. THIS IS SO THAT BOBBY HAS TO LIVE WITH ‘I will never forgive you for what happened. you got that? never. so change the subject bob.’#ON HIM. THE WHOLE TIME. AFTER OMAHA. EVEN AS HES TRYING TO APOLOGIZE IN THIS SCENE HE KNOWS HE WONT BE FORGIVEN#BECAUSE ITS ALWAYS BEEN TATTOOED ONTO HIM. THHAT THEY WOULD END LIKE THIS. WITHOUT BEING ABLE TO MOVE ON.#and so that Rufus’s last words can say ‘I never said I’m sorry Rufus.’ rufus constantly carrying this reminder of what Bobby did.#of the fact that he hasn’t apologized. yet. of the fact that by the time he does it’ll be too late.#and then you just. look imagine. imagine with me.#they say this to each other. there’s that moment where they realize… that’s it. end of the line.#and then obv worm!samuel knocks them both out. them both going down thinking ‘oh this is what does it’ but it doesn’t. it doesn’t.#they wake up again.#and Rufus talks to Bobby. Bobby talks to Rufus. how is this happening? did they break the rules? get a second chance?#their words are still on their skin. unchanging. the last things they ever said to each other.#but there’s a glimmer of. almost hope. and then Rufus turns to shock Bobby. and Bobby starts backing away.#audible drop of Rufus’s heart as he realizes. no. they didn’t get out. and then he dies. Bobby is forced to kill him.#Bobby’s on the other end of the possession stick now. he’s the one with Rufus’s blood on his hands.#and the last thing Rufus said to him. he’s always gonna have it there on his skin. that Rufus didn’t forgive him. and then Bobby killed him.#(and it wasn’t his fault. he knows how possession works. knows there was no fighting this thing or saving Rufus.#but he still takes the brunt of the guilt. Carries it. till he dies and despite everything it’s still Rufus he wants guiding him through it.#bobbyrufus#spn#Bobby singer#rufus turner

kyuuyakus so good not only bc its like the only song heavy enough i can tolerate at loud volumes that can Almost drown out my coworker who never shuts up but ALSO for the points ive said 74times & will continue to,
aru sekai shoushitsu set us up for something super sci-fi, which. yes. the series very much is. but it was so technical and almost coldly indifferent. and then we're given the whole "old testament" in the title & the whole intro reading that isnt far from dantes inferno type content as my good friend emimin pointed out. we've got this new aspect added in and at the same time the lyrics let you know this character's still dealing with the complex technical stuff, from the terms down to the second kanji in ashita being incomplete as though because of a program error or interruption or some other similar reason.
and it feels even more different because theres just so much emotion in this one compared to shoushitsu. all the "bye-bye"s written in ways that express deep pain, the fact that the "see you tomorrow"s are cut off in the way they are the first time, and so drawn out the second time. the genre's not the spacey, distant trance type that shoushitsu is; its heavy, its intense, its got as much to it musically as there are details in the story. it's not just to sound cool, it's getting her state of mind across just as much as the spoken words. the world's being destroyed physically & metaphorically, everyone's suffered this over and over, they've parted ways so many times and its just never something they can get used to, especially not if they want to keep trying to end this whole loop, she's stressed past imagination trying to keep everything in check when its just not possible, & the intensity of the music just emphasizes all of that. there's less intense parts too, sort of like a forced focus on what she's doing that all too quickly builds to a panic. or the in the second part where everything gets so dire, the bell's tolling and she's running out of time, the piano over top of it giving such an uneasy feeling, and then right back to that heavy panic. theres so much emotional charge in it you know the long notes aren't just magu having fun with it; you just know they're meant as screams. i dont even think i can say screams for help, i think she knows shes past the point of help or at least that she's supposed to be everyone else's source of help that it's just stressed lamentation. she's doing everything she possibly can and its not working so all thats left is to cry out about it.
and then u have the rute furute wo a motif in here that's added in under the "fractal wa/kurikaeshita" parts that really hits harder now with kannagi for extra context. knowing that this is in the past & can't be changed and everyone else is using this as a point of reference. then u of course have the nami no ne wo motif, & the longest & clearest instance of it aside from maybe oumen mokushiroku so u know she's herself & gets to live, gets to keep doing this & watching other people die. (although i have absolutely no frame of reference for how long she lives given this is a past event & she doesn't seem to be present in the more current time songs. we dont really have that context yet) & then we're back to the rute motif on top of what still sounds like a jumble of nothing. but i also thought the rute line was nothing and here its a big deal so i cant wait to realize what this other jumble is, considering its also under the last ima kizanda parts.
theres just so so much to it, so many little intricacies that build such a full picture from whats otherwise one of the more simple series songs & i cant love it more.
#aru sekai series#part of me is desperately like is that last jumble here the reason the end of ashura sounds so familiar to me#but its not quite right for that i dont think#its also not the repeating whatever from shoushitsu#& it didnt make any sense to me when i tried reversing it either so i just dont know#ashura's a different conversation but oh my god i am so desperate to realize why the end of it sounds so familiar to me#like which song is it from & what motif is it#its NOT the nami no ne no. i know that. that's not in that song despite everything telling me it should be.#which is interesting in its own right considering the whole. cycle of things with ashura as a concept & whatnot.#& yet without that motif it implies she doesnt get to live after her song so thats something i think about often#anyway i feel like what im looking for is in either kyuuyaku or touhikou or both but i can never pinpoint it#compels me tho#as ive said many times the sound design in series songs is amazing when magu says they compose to fit a certain mood they fucking nail it#i thought about putting this under a read more but ive decided to actively be annoying#oh yeah once again im not looking at anything directly this is just off memory & the lyrics i can understand#bc some of these words i forgot immediately after learning. whoops.

*gasp* you're famous!
it's been in the back of my mind like, whoops probably dropping a fair volume of posts into the lackadaisy tag lol but whaddaya gonna do. read my posts boy and i need all the help putting two and two together that i can get lmao, what with grabbing this one thread with both hands and bellpull ringing it....creator trying to see ppl's art and animation responses and now just to get me out of the way it's like, so here's what happened:
#my releasing like a quasar of energy to make every post going ''what if...mordecai & mitzi were standing around in some whole other place''#i have bowling art fr; i might even make another gifset. though i'm haunted by the Desktop Rejected Yet Functional gif experience last time#no but for real fun to get a reblog and i'm not actually pressed about being slightly in the way in the tag perhaps lol#It's Enrichment all around#(took me a sec to realize what this was about....then going ''oh what's up in my Activity there'' like i can guess lol)#there's not many things i post about bound to cause an insta 99+ situation....#and even now naturally it's not That without a lackadaisycats reblog so. solved THAT mystery....#if only i could solve the mystery of [is mordecai solving the mystery of who killed him? or else: who knows that he's the one who did? or#even some third or fourth thing???] like damn it's not readily clear to me. like how mysteries work or something like that#looked at one of my preexisting posts again: okay back to considering it most likely that mordecai shot atlas. But [reiterating everything]

look i love making sae be the one who's so in love and showering hajun with so much love and affection but it's much more fun to think that HE fell harder than her
#it's the she fell first he fell harder thing. gooodd hjs have such common dynamic the frustrating and infuriating type#like look at first she have a crush on him right but as a model. that girl is literally a moth she gets attracted by those with light#though at first she admires him as a model and knew him through toma- her kamioshi. though i think... she just starts admiring him a lot?#she literally went through a 'highschool crush' phase but late since she was like. at college 😭#observed him... wow he's a lot similar to her than she thought. that guy puts up a smile in front of strangers and keep people at a distanc#he looked... strangely alone. why? even though he have friends too. she saw herself in hajun and... didnt want to be like him#will she keep putting up a face too? will she keep lying to herself? and would that make her alone in the end as well? she didnt want that.#so shes like yknow what? let's be shameless. her friends had been so loving of her unconditionally.#she thought that they'll leave after highschool and yet... and yet they stayed. they keep approaching her.#and come to think of it... they're always the ones giving effort for her right? when it comes to planning for hang outs-#they're always the one to reach out. never her. shouldnt she return the favor then? love them as much as they love her#pour all her heart out. she used to do it- she can do it again. love people unconditionally without expecting anything from them.#surely this time it'd be different. surely it wont drain her. even if there's a chance they'll leave her- it doesnt matter now.#she knows she gave her everything and that's enough for her. maybe she'll feel better if she had realized this when she was a child...#but that's okay now! so for now! lesson learned: dont be hajun#but also sae. just have a different view of hajun in her head 😭??? like she admits she didnt really know hajun before but actually meeting#him must be so complicated for her lol like this guy used to be her crush! and she got to talk to him but holy shit he's lowkey an asshole😭#not even lowkey but he really is a bitch lmfaaooo so like. damn 'i forgot i used to have a crush on this guy like i used to like him???'#'in what way??? (his looks dont even deny it sweetie)' i think her crush on him in the past made her more snappy towards him now lmfao#like 'gooooddd i used to have a crush on THIS GUY??? that's making me piiisseedd' LMAAAOOO 😭😭#i genuinely have NOOOOO idea how they started having this dynamic but it's just. them lowkey insulting each other? not really INSULT insult#but rather bickering masked by politeness? like 💢^^) (^^💢 selfish ohime-sama vs black hearted prince#but the one who's usually losing here would be sae ngl and hajun's mostly the one being playful tho tbf they CAN calmly talk to each other#sometimes they just become competitive? sae herself is a competitive one at first it would be 'oho~ let's see how long he can keep this up~#to 'give up already!!!! my social battery isn't gonna last long!!!!!!!!' and hajun's just watching her lose it every time 😭😭#ah.... my absolutely pathetic daughter im so sorry..... when it comes to him she gets unreasonably annoyed. just who does he think he is?#and yet she can't even feel arrogant around him. she knows bae are on a different league than her. that's why despite being very friendly a#expressing her admiration towards them she still puts up a barrier around them? it's not that deep she have her own close friends#yumeshipping — hajusae [prri]
