i watched the original x-men movies when they first came out, but never bothered to watch the prequel/reboot movies. just randomly decided to watch first class and was reminded what i've always felt my whole life: *whispers* magneto was right

how many times do we gotta go over it man. thought crime isn't real. it's okay to feel whatever you're feeling. don't let anyone make you feel guilty for having some reflex reaction to stimuli in a way that is out of your control. the question isn't what you think or how you feel, but what you do. do you act upon those thoughts? do you harm others bc of your feelings? that's where you draw the line. keep it in your brain. vent it out in some personal way like a journal or a password locked blog. it's okay i promise

One of my favorite things about being in my early 20s is that I'm starting to understand that I can use things not for their intended purpose. When you're growing up, you get told what an object is and what its intended purpose is, and as a kid/teen, I just accepted all of it at face value. As a young adult it's finally clicking that I can simply do things a different way if it makes me happier. Sure, I was taught that you stand to take a shower, but there's nothing stopping me from just sitting if I don't feel like it, ya know? I might have always had my medication in the kitchen, but if I'm no longer remembering to take it, I can just move it somewhere where I can remember. You don't have to specifically store all food in the kitchen, you can have a little snack cart or snack station in another room.

The downside to finding out the various ways you can use objects is that you develop habits that would probably go on an r/relationships post where everyone says you're a little freak.

Checkmate, Gotham! Introducing Rook! A graduate vigilante has hit the scene, and they're ready to take flight!

No longer in bright green and yellow, this birdie's gone gothic, taking on a black and white color scheme-- though still with a touch of his signature red-- to imitate his namesake.

Make no mistake by the darker colors, though, their personality is as colorful as it's always been! A mischievous, playful character, Rook has alighted to the skies, feeling better and more like himself than ever. The re-brand's been nice, offering something new but familiar!

Of course, there's no rest for the wicked, though, so prepare for this refreshed and newly-dedicated player to start cleaning up the streets and taking care of business right away!

This new bird is determined to make his presence known and feared, so beware criminals, and get ready for his opening moves!

Quick Facts:

For his suit, think the Unternet mask (not the suit), and then something mostly black, lightly armored, and with very, very minimal red and white accents

He still fights with his bo and his throwing discs

Tim's in their very early 20s as Rook

They're gonna retain their classic bubbly and snarky personality, but he is gonna keep some of that more mature hero vibe that he has in the late Red Robin issues

Their HQ is still The Nest, in the old crime alley theater

He still works frequently with Moneyspider

The symbol on his suit is the silhouette of a rook, the bird. It's in a circle on his chest, which is still attached to a chest and waist harness

Tim's main focus as Rook is to get back to detective work primarily

Rook's patrol is from midnight to 4 am every other day, though he's often out well past 5 am, especially on busy nights
